Is there not an option "because I like to spend my crypto"? I don't really gamble for any of the purposes mentioned above. I can't really have fun with my cryptos or spend them on something that I can't with the fiat money. You can argue that I can gamble with real cash but the complications one has to go through are unbearable. I'd rather sit at home and try my luck with the pennies I wouldn't regret losing.

Not really that big and it differs enough for me to stay an hour or two betting small amount, I've tried to extend the fund that allocated so I can enjoy the game more.

I cannot compare this to alcohol, I just love the excitement and the joy I'm getting while gambling specially when I won in my last bet.

I chose fun and the hope to win. I play offline and online casino but most of the time I do it online. I cannot say I am earning on gambling regularly. It is difficult to beat the house. Today I earned $80, not exact as I use crypto currencies. I was just lucky today and yesterday. Yesterday I won $60 too. But before that I lost or break-even or didn't gamble at all.

I only enjoy my luck every week so I don't spend as much money as long as I make money every week, in my bets, I only rely on luck every week ...

Answer: i play in traditional casino(offline) when i want to feel the ambiance and the sorroundings and i also play Online when i am lack of time or when im home and kinda boring.

I am playing because of a hope to win something big on someday,I am not doing it regularly or too often but when I gamble this thing will run in my mind when I am going to win those bets and also sometimes I get day dreams about winning a lottery. :D

My first gambling experience was playing head and tail online with Perfect Money (It was an online payment system, like Paypal but with less restriction). Never made a sustainable profit with it, probably because the game wasn't fair lol :D

I can't answer how much I earn in a day because I don't gamble regularly. I gamble mostly when there's an exciting tournament in CSGO and I have free time to watch and analyze the event. There are some events where I triple my initial deposit, and there are also times when I bust it :D You win some you lose some.

Online only because offline casino doesn't exist here.

Enjoying and fun, to escape even for a short period of time on the many issues and hustle of daily routines, when you once feel how is it feel to be excited and have fun playing the dice and the roulette, you wish to get back from time to time, but I know there is a trap if I am not careful with the way I play, so I make sure that I allocate  with funds that I can afford to lose, so I would not regret later.
Sometimes I win and when I do I kept in for my bet the next day.

First I play gambling, of course, to have fun, and to enjoy mostly I spend quite a lot of money and get it from my profit in posting, and of course, I play to win money and get more profit from it, but it didn't go as well. But I notice while playing for a reason of enjoyment I didn't notice that little by little I get addicted and wasting too much money opposite to what I aim to win and earn money, well gambling is gambling I can't ensure a win for every of my game, in fact, I feel that I more lose than winning and end up stopping on playing because I don't want to regret anymore.

Truth be told I started playing to win, but over time, I figured out that there's no future for me in gambling professionally or to even make a decent living, so I decided to stop spending too much and just played whenever i have spare money that I can spend on booze but choose to gamble and take my chance on winning something instead. Right now I have successfully avoided gambling and am playing very rarely to satisfy my cravings for the thrill every now and then, though I wish I can resist the urge and use the money on something else instead.,

I don't really keep track of how much I gamble weekly and there no point tracking it since I only gamble in small amounts and I also don't gamble consistently.
the only worth noting in my winnings in 1 day is 94mbtc and that was in 2016 or early 2017 I think.
I mostly play online since it is convenient and there are only a few offline casinos in my area and it is a hassle to go to one with the horrible traffic. that's why online casino
is the best option I got.

gambling itself isn't really that appealing to me. the only reason why I gamble is to engage my mind. I feel you and honestly playing on landbased casinos gave me a shot of relaxing feel and it feels like I have a momentum in my hand though I just do this if I'm so stressed out. While playing on online casinos is way more convenient.

I don't know, however I will give you guys some background, I grew up on a home wherein my father was a gambler. So I would say that I was influence by it because at a young age, I started to play gambling not for the reason giving by the OP, but because of the influence of the people around.

Of course, I play to win and have some fun as well. And I'm sure most gamblers here are attracted because they wanted to win money obviously. I play both offline and offline games, but I would say that I'm more of a traditional based casino player, because prior to my discovery of off-line games, I'm already hook up and going to casinos with friends and families.

Let's be real, we all hope to win that's why we still try. I hope to win or more of while I'm trying my luck I hope deep inside that I'm really gonna win be it on dice, poker or tong-it's. Though I don't know my earnings doing gambling but mostly I'm in lose. When I'm in lose I just think of it as a payment for fun.

Enjoying and for fun. I mostly spend around 50$ maximum but it can reach sometimes up to 70$ depending on how much I'm enjoying playing. I mostly play Offline casino, most of the time with my friends. Though there were instances where we went to gambling casinos and played together. I don't often go alone to casinos, so yup. Some may say that doing gambling as a way of stress relief may be a bit weird? or even crazy but it's actually quite nice. First and foremost the reason why I send my self into gambling is because the hope of winning the jackpot and I believe that most of us here think the same. Having fun, enjoying, and because I'd love to do it is just a white lies and out from the reality. Nobody spending a lot of time in gambling just having for fun.  

We came in here for a reason and really big enough that encourage us to stay almost every day for that sake. That is why many people being addicted because they wan't to get that memorable prize which it surely change their lives. Since you have option 1 which is enjoying, option 4 (fun) is kind of a redundant. I mean "i am enjoying" means "I am having fun". It is almost the same thing.
Anyways, I sometimes gamble just for fun. I enjoy gambling which brings up all the adrenalin rush making the (stressful) situation more fun. I remember open a lots of csgo crates not just for the knives or some good skins, I did it just because I enjoyed watching the out come.
I don't spend much on gambling, at least now. Just few bucks and that's it.

I chose another option in your poll because so far I have only reached the try phase. Trying to bet offline only on a several times. Intrigued by the activities of friends when betting makes me feel like doing it. Even though losing, it makes me fun. I now feel attracted to the dice game, but I have never tried it.

I honestly never look at gain, I'm not interested in gain. I love going to the casino and playing slots, it makes me happy and interesting, but I'm also glad when I take the money, but it doesn't matter. But sometimes I wonder, when I start to get it, that it's just because I'm not putting pressure on myself and not burdening myself with gains because I'm just relaxed.

It's different in my case when you are betting you will either win or lose you are not betting to lose but always find a way to win, I choose to gain and have fun, there are times that I have both on my lucky day and when I'm losing I make sure that I still have fun, we should not take gambling seriously, or you will be depressed and you'll get sick.

I am gambling because I enjoy it and also hoping to win some money. The amount varies but I make sure that I only spend the amount that I can afford to lose. This is to make sure that gambling will not affect my finances.


Reading tong-its in a post is nostalgic. I remember me and my cousins got good in adding and counting because of tong-its.

I was hoping for win but the reality losing all of my earned money from the freelance/internet xD, since the lose i got from the payment of my earning freelance by doing a bounty. I just feel only wasting a time went i doing a gamble, i never use my own pocket for doing a gamble since i don't really comfortable using money from my financial. Because of that winning or lose doesn't matter, but if i winning well i can double up my money xD.

Except for eSport betting, cause i see the match and play the game like DOTA 2. I enjoy all the gambling cause i play that game and watch the tournament.

I gamble for fun and I suppose many people in the forum do the same thing, I used to play poker once a week in different casinos and it was very entertaining, unlike other games poker can be a very social game, the game can be very slow since it can take a few minutes before each round is played and if you do not get good cards it could easily pass half an hour before you can play, then you have a lot of time to know the people on the table.

Right now I am playing once every other month but I have not played in casinos for some time since I prefer to gamble with my friends in a friendly poker match.

I think fun and enjoying is just the same because i do gamble only for entertainment purposes and I don't intend to work my way to get some profit as long as I win then that's fine and entertaining. Most people are more than just a gambler, they were a gambling lord if you put a title on their head. Here is the reason why I am in gambling.
For fun, Enjoying and Hope for the win. These are very common of every gambler's wants. Even in my self, I was looking into these categories while choosing gambling site. It should entertain me very well and not getting bored and hoping to gain money but with have a limitation to avoid chasing on it.

I've tried gambling before, but didn't go out well for me, that is why I quit on playing it once I've realized that I don't have any future on it (I can't rely my future on it). My reason why I don't play gambling even it is fun, is because the addiction of it, that includes our money in the story, our time is also being wasted alongside with our money if we are losing, so what is the point of continuing if you don't win, of course none, that is why it is important to have a time for yourself to think about what decision you should make once you noticed that you need one, before it is too late.

Are you sure that you are not interested in profits? In fact, people here gamble because of money, although not all, but it is average and probably almost all. For me pleasure is important, when I get profit, but when I lose I will also try to enjoy it but still my main goal is profit and that is everyone's hope. So it's very fun when you make a profit, just as you put a signature because of money.

I have always seen people happiest when they play for the fun and not just for money and in between if they win any amount which is like bonus to them this makes them real happy and blessed . They do not play just to make make money out of it but to entertain them .

Honestly, i gamble when i feel that i am lucky that i could win in gambling. There are also times that i didn't expect that my luck is true that i experienced a winning streak by just playing poker in one night. But if i don't feel lucky in a certain day, i also don't feel to gamble because i knew to myself that i can't win a huge amount of profit from it.

Gambling is the way of people they have many purposes why they are on gambling, not just only for the fun at the same time it's a matter of money as well. Indeed, the fact is it's up to you how to manage your self not pushing into gambling addiction which is your life probably get ruin and make it worse when you are in the addiction level.

I mostly do gambling for fun. I don't consider it as a source for income because it's so risky and it's mostly depends on luck if we don't say totally. I'd prefer to gamble mostly in football games and make my own prediction and playing only with low amounts of money.

Not my main goal is profit, but the nature is that it is a pleasure to profit, but sometimes I prefer to have a good time and find it interesting, than to take some small profit that does not bring me happiness in life, I know that I am one of the few.

The poll looks funny because nobody chose "i'm addicted" and I bet there's more than one addict browsing this forum. When I see people tell their stories of how they borrowed money from someone and gambled it all away I know they are addicted but first rule of addiction is that real addicts don't want to admit it. That's why on this forum where addicts are posting every day nobody chose this option.

I don't gamble much but when I do it's to win more money and do something excited. Sometimes you need that little dose of adrenaline and gambling gives it.

I think I made a mistake, it's too discreet to put "I'm addicted" e.g. anyone who is addicted to alcohol will say that they are not addicted, so are they with gambling, there are some who are suppressed but will not admit. Although I look at it from this point of view, I used to borrow gambling money in the 20's and practically speaking it was an addict, but well it lasted for a short time.

I play for fun. I rarely play online, most often it happens offline, in a casino or with my friends. Now I want to try the whole variety of games on the blockchain.
I try not to get drunk when I play, but it doesn’t always work out for me.
Am I addicted? More likely no than yes, but something excites me in excitement.

I only chose one option for your poll but I will reply to some of your questions.

1. In gambling I don't think it's about how much money is spent in gambling, because I enjoy it only by predicting or analyzing.

2. No, I don't like alcohol at all, I just love gambling. So don't assume that people who like gambling are people who like alcohol and or drugs.

3. This is my goal in gambling, although I don't always get a win in gambling every day, but in gambling at least I always expect winning. Therefore I am very difficult to get a winning and usually I will always get more losses than wins even though sometimes in the end big wins will be obtained or even just lose.

4. Both, but as time goes by I often gamble online and have left offline gambling. Both of these types of gambling have different levels of fun and as long as I experience, offline gambling is more for fun.

5. I'm not sure who often bet on my family, I only realize gambling addiction is not something that happens because of an inheritance or hereditary nature of the family. Gambling addiction happened because of an environment, this happened and I experienced when actively gambling offline every day and that was the beginning I knew many types of gambling.

That's what I am trying to tell to OP yet he's not responding, i wonder if he ever want to discuss with us with this thread. Anyway, why gamble if you can't barely win? Most of the answers are for fun and I know that some of us didn't really win too much profit because we barely win but we do enjoy it at the same time so it's all worth it.

When I was a little kid we used to play heads or tails with my classmates along with other games involving coins. That was already a form of gambling which my mom would never allow me playing. The games grew more sophisticated over time.

Nope. I guess I like beer more than I like gambling. But the two are a perfect combination.

There is no fixed earning. There are winning days as there are also losing days. I cannot anymore compute my average earning, or probably losses.

I select the option for numbers 1, 3, and 4. But for number 3, I don't have the biggest hope because I know that winning in gambling will need big luck too, so I don't think that it will easy for me to win. Besides that, I don't earn much money from gambling because that is hard for me to win.

For the option numbers 1, that is because playing gambling can give me time to have my time alone because I play on my room without anyone knows. I think I use some money for about $15 in a month to gamble, but all of that money will not be used for playing gambling because I don't gamble every day.

For option numbers 4, I play online gambling because I feel that is the easy way for me to have fun in any gambling game, and I don't have to think about win or lose.

If the first day we made a win in the bet. Definitely the next day want to bet again and hope in the heart will win. But to win every day in the bet, it's not possible. So maybe every day a bet could be in two weeks only once won, or in a week can once win. Maybe for me that, I always hope to win in the gambling.

I gamble just because of the fun of it, I am an ardent soccer lover I always deploy my skills in analyzing and predicting soccer matches to bet thus enjoying the fun of it while always cautious of the amount of money I use to place my bet of course maximum of 2% of my investment.

Actually, all gamblers belong to number 3, I even include my self since I also hope to win every time I play.
We do hope to win each and every day. It is not possible if you are lucky enough to win every time you play. But we all know that there is no such thing, even in gambling there are ups and downs.

The same goes here. This is the second reason why I gamble, to have fun. Aside from hoping I am looking for fun and to kill some time.

When I’ve learned to gamble before, my main reason is to have some enjoyment and fun but when I experience of winning I am for a win. It gives enjoyment when playing gambling online with no hassle. I am definitely enjoying it, I can't count it in USD because I gamble with crypto.
My range is about 0.01 to 0.1 weekly, and it changes from time to time, that's why its a long range but I am a discipline gambler so if I gamble like 0.1, I know i can manage it.

Mine is probably 3. My first try of online gambling was probably 2016 or 2017. And that was when I got few Bitcoin from a faucet/gambling site. I think I played hoping to win. I played once or few times & didnt play again till this year(2019)with bonuses. I probably will try again when I find a game that interest me... most likely skill-based games.

I think the number one reason was obvious it is because we wanted to win the price in the game or hoping to win the bet in gambling.
Especially in cryptocurrency I think gambling was really is fun but sometimes we just game win every time in a bet or other gambling games but I think we all have this all of this reason but most of all we want to win the game. Yes, I am enjoying gambling because I have matured and i am well discipline now, I am more realistic that losing happens most of the time that winning and with that reality, I need to ensure I can limit my bet so I would last for a longer session, although most of the time I ended up losing but I just accept it and consider it as the payment of the entertainment I got.

1-4 Yes that's the reasons for me doing gambling but not for the 5th.
1. I have a limit on how much money to spend every week, it is capped at $100 a week but some time I do not even gamble during a whole week as I gamble for fun so I do not force myself to gamble every week.
2. It is not good comparison IMO, when someone love alcohol or smoking then it can be something called as addiction.
3. Surely any gamblers although they do it for fun, they still hoping for a win. There is no fixed amount of how much I can win or I can lose in single day, so I cant say how much I earn in one day

To be honest, I just gamble because I have never developed a habit of saving, and together with the gambling thrill, it just got me hooked up.

It has much to do with how I am, always I wanted to spend more than what I save, and until I found gambling, I always felt like a very rich person. Because I spent wisely, but did it hugely.

But after I found gambling, majority of my spending is towards this gambling entertainment. I'm not addicted to it per se, I'm just kinda habituated with it. Along with that I have a couple of small loans, which I can easily pay off if I save two to three days, but since I'm so habituated that the funds end up being in my gambling balance and I think I can just make full amount within one single day to return all loans.

I become addicted to gambling because, most of the time, every game I play, I always win, and so few did I experience to lose because I know the mechanics and some techniques of the game. I think it is also called an addiction too. In my everyday life, I need to play just even only one game to make my day.

It s a human tendency or say a behaviour which enable the casinos owners to make money as people do not stop inspite of making losses and many just become addicted to it. Due to which people keep gambling again and again in anticipation of winning one day .

It is only common because every gamblers wanted to win. No one wants to lose their money just to have fun nor being addicted to gambling. Hoping to win is the number one choice because that's the nature of every individual, to have an easy money and to experience winning. As "Enjoying", "I love", and "Fun" are nothing else but more specific and concrete terms to describe a more general idea or concept of personal entertainment. I think I hope for a win, but I don't earn money in gambling because that is too difficult for me to win some money. I can only hope and hope for a win but the fact, I still lose in gambling. If people want to have fun they could play free games without involving money, but gambling is about money. All gamblers dreams about hit a jackpot or get a big win. I think most of gamblers thinks that way.

Some of you pretend that you're in gambling for the fun and I call bullshit on that. The whole point is the win and that feeling the win is waiting for you seconds away. Of course is obvious and I stupid if I say I am not intersted to get win in gambling, I play gambling because I want also to get win and at the same time I enjoy mself while playing gambling, when I play gambling I always set my money ready to lose as discipline to avoid troubles and huge loses.

I mostly gamble for entertainment, though I'd also love to win a large amount of money. I only gamble for leisure and nothing else. Of course there is nothing I could get through it but enjoyment and it should not be out of addiction. If my budget is out, then I refrain from gambling. This way, addiction from it all never be an issue.

It was good you gambling for fun and with the amount you can afford to lose but I believe you still need to put your emotion (buzz) and priority in check cause a situation where you won't be able to comfort yourself concern the fund you lost may happen by any chance.
Concern the OP question, I gamble when it believes I need something to light me up and it just for some moment.

Many new gamblers come to gambling place or online gambling because of curiosity. They are not thinking about enjoying, fun, or even making money from gambling. Actually I started to gamble in a very young age which is 15 years old, I have been gamble in dota and dota2 since I am 15 years old so I have been gamble at a very young age. The beginning of my involvement into gambling is to experience what it is all about and know better about it. The same was under my control, but when I started to loss in big number it became a problem for me. I started to go behind the losses with the hope of recovering the lost funds. This should never be done with gambling, surely the end result will be a big loss. Maybe one in twenty succeed in getting back what's been lost earlier. I have given  vote for Fun and Hope for win. I think everyone play with a hope to win even he is addicted or playing just for fun. You can't enjoy your time by losing fund by the way. I think that because in the start gambler only play just for fun, enjoyment and for the win of course but as you notice no one votes for addicted in pool because I believe that if the gambler becomes addicted and realize it by experiencing bad effects of addiction then maybe they will stop right then if ever they encounter this pool maybe they become shy to admit that they become addicted in gambling perhaps because it can affect their image or what. And yes, a person that starts with enjoyment and fun but eventually without realizing they become addicted and in their mindset, it is not addiction.

i choose fun and enjoying but i think both of them are the same  .

Addiction f any sort will lead to committing crimes when the addict runs outs of resources. He cannot relax his brain and body without providing them same experience and then he has no way to get that thing. A slave of his own desires is prone to sins. I do play mostly to have fun and there's no specific amount for this because I only depend on my extra money and I don't play weekly. In this way I can prevent myself from the addiction and I know gambling is not good if I continue to keep playing every week. I also want to earn money but this is not my main goal.

That is good of you to only gamble with your extra money. Most often, I cannot do that. I sometimes intentionally set aside a little amount for gambling. That is not that bad but I feel guilty at times for giving gambling a specific amount. It is as if gambling is a necessary thing for which I should allocate a particular amount. I think I need to be continually busy so that I can forget gambling longer.

Sometimes I am betting my altcoins that aren't worthy for me. Especially if there is a gambling platform that utilizes that particular altcoins. Because for me, trading that would not provide me any excitement and enjoyment. If I gamble those altcoins that I am willing to lose, I feel too much happiness to see my altcoins win, then convert to bitcoin and add to my investment portfolio.

Gambling is fun both online and offline but I always choose to go offline and play on the casino because of my friends who are inviting me to play with them, and we are having fun most of the time. If I do want to be alone then Online Casino is the best option for me to have fun. I usually play in online casino which is more convenient than going to real casino and play different gambling games. It's more fun in playing online casino and it just like playing in real casino because all games are already there.

If you already know your bet has a big chance to lose why you still want to bet on your favorite team. In my opinion even if your favorite team loses at least you still get money from the opposing team and that can replace your disappointment because your team loses.

Personally, I see gambling as a fun enterprise and don't really take it serious. That's why when I gamble most times, I don't place my hopes high. I just take whatever outcome it comes. It's basically like the two sides of a coin, You either win or lose. Why do I take gambling that way? It's quite simple. Investment is way too far in the term of gambling, both have risk but the purpose of it is different. Investing has no luck to begin with, there's a purely mathematical solution or analysis to determine the risk and growth of the project. While in gambling, you can't easily calculate those 'cause it's a very strategical situation.

It has effect to our phsychological mindset so don't see gambling as investment. I agree. Also cryptocurrency investors can actually gamble with their coins by trading leverage or investing in pump and dump. Leverage trading kind of qualifies as gambling, though less risky than most luck-based gambling but probably riskier than some skill-based gambling.

I never experience how to play in offline gambling casino but I can imagine how have fun it is if you and your friend gamble there together. This is mostly like on every gambler, to have fun and the second one is hoping to win as well. But obviously why gamblers have to gamble because of chasing money and they are thinking gambling is a source of income.

To be honest, I can look at those histories and that will all be painted in red so I don't think I am getting any profit so to minimize the money I am using weekly, I slowly reduce the money I am using.

I'm gambling mostly for fun. I don't consider it as a source of money or to become rich like most of gambler thinking. I know it's too risky and it's kinda addictive sometimes, but I'm good with self-control and I have my limits though. I'm used to gamble with my friend in sport games, mostly football games because we really enjoy to gamble together and seeing who's the one who end up winning.

IMO, I think he made it out of curiosity 'cause every people are curious if there are many people risking in gambling to gain profit or is it just for fun only. It's normal to ask some complex situations like this 'cause it's hard to tell whether the people are just enjoying gambling or being serious to get money on it.

I simply don't believe in this, what's been chosen to be the primary reason is correct, because all that get into gambling is for earning. With the hope of winning they gamble than enjoying looking on what's been earned out of hard work.

When i get bored i go in online gambling because every i play i enjoy it even i lost some of my money its okay to me because i feel that I'm enjoying. But let me take you to a way of separating these two.
Investing is an opportunity given to investors to make a profit in either long term or short term. While in gambling, your chance to make a profit is only the game period and also the time when you don't have any more money or what we call game over.

Both have risk but gambling is different than investment. Gambling is an event that occurs regularly while investment can last a lot of time. There are different kind of investments and we can use technical analysis on that to predict what is the next on the graph. In gambling, you can't predict but solve probabilities so I therefore conclude that it's different.

Investors use to invest their money then they stop investing at any limit. Gambler use to gamble but a wise gambler will only gamble until he wins and if there will be chances of lose they can stop gambling. I like gambling because it’s good for making money and it also gives us mental relaxation. Some people gamble only got fun.

Do not lose hope because soon you never know what tomorrow has to bring for you. You are enjoying your games too so there is no need to feel bad or low. As long as the amount on stake is a small one and the time spend on this activity does not hurt other essential activities, you can gamble and enjoy. Moreover, if you switch your casino or game, maybe things change a little bit for you.

Just to remind you guys that we should be more practical. I think there's a lot of things other than gambling that will make you enjoy and entertain yourself. I very rarely gamble, but when I do it's for fun and entertainment. My max gambling budget is between $20 and $50 when I decide to gamble. If I win, I take it and leave. If I lose, I just leave and don't try to win it back.

There is only one reason why i'm playing gambling and that is because of profit. I wanted to gain or turn my penny into a bigger amount. No other reason like looking for fun, I'd rather play online games which is more entertaining or relieving stress. You'll stress yourself more if you loss, just sleep, much better. I don't know how others saying they are just having fun but keep on coming back and chasing losses. Lies, it's just their alibi because they can't admit they are being addicted and pretending to be cool after lose.

I love the honesty ringing in your post but I don’t share it. Winning is a very enticing bonus to be honest. But have you never played any gambling game just for the sake of having fun? I have played many games and made bets on those just to have some fun. I usually play texas hold em against friends without thinking of making money. That happens oftentimes. For me, gambling with only winning in mind will give you more stress than just losing the game itself because you will likely face disappointment.

I am also one of those who want to make money like I want to spend my spare time with gambling because it gives me good income though. When I get free time I just spend in a casino making money with gambling. Gambling is being used for fun by so many people I am one of those use gambling for enjoying my time and also for making money.
