Title: Can Altcoins do it alone ?
Post by: Wysi on December 02, 2019, 08:32:37 AM
We have often witnessed that the growth of altcoin is associated with the growth of bitcoin as whenever there is a pump in the value of bitcoin we have witnessed green days for altcoins too but how long will altcoins be dependent on bitcoin? Do you think altcoin can do it alone and have it's own pump and dump without being dependent on bitcoin? What will it take for altcoin to prosper without bitcoin's involvement?

I don't think that altcoin can stand alone, because altcoin itself was born because of the presence of Bitcoin.

Altcoin need Bitcoin in price comparison means what happens to the altcoin market will depend entirely on Bitcoin

I think it is impossible and very difficult, we know that some Altcoin that have a pair on BTC will certainly follow the price of the BTC, but if Altcoin you think can be more independent, make sure Altcoin does not use a BTC pair and only focus on the stablecoin pair usdt and others I think it might be possible, there are some maybe Altcoin rose dramatically without looking at bitcoin prices usually because the pump group was partying there

That's difficult with the current condition of the market where all trading pairs are on Bitcoin, and Ethereum, all coins depends so much on the price of Bitcoin and will always stay this way, so my answer is no for now, maybe in the future alcoins can come up with a solution where the price of all altcoins will not depend on Bitcoin alone.

As of today, Bitcoin dominance is 66% [urlhttps://coinmarketcap.com/]Source: CoinMarketCap[/url]. When Bitcoin go up, altcoins also enjoy the party. We haven't seen any notable rally in which bitcoin was not involved and was solely done by altcoins. I dont think altcoins right now have the strength to move alone, BTC movement is mandatory.

Sometime there are altcoins also going to pump and not dependent from bitcoin to increase the price. I saw some altcoins going crazy to go up the price and even do bitcoin are in dump situation. Not a first time I saw some altcoins like that maybe too many since the bitcoin drop the price to $4,000. But for now I dont think so if have that kind altcoins because most altcoins are now are to long pump the price.

BTC continues to be a main entry point to crypto and I think it would continue to be the main player in this niche market due to the fact that it still continues to receive the most community support, for good reason. BTC's network is the most immutable, and in such can support the main and most important features of cryptocurrency stronger than any other altcoin.

There is no timeframe for that observation. Altcoins will always be dependent on bitcoin and sometimes they are not. It's been seen and told that altcoins pump are depending on bitcoin and when we see them fall, bitcoin goes up. Sometimes they are together and connected to each other, it's not that easy to understand but you can have that idea easily on why they are connected.

Do you think altcoin can do it alone and have it's own pump and dump without being dependent on bitcoin?
It happened also that few altcoins pumped themselves alone because of their own whales.

Ofcourse it can. More over altcoins with low volume which like under 1 mil a day, there often this kind of altcoins experienced a big pump like more than 30% in a day. But it's seldom to happen in top alts with decent big volume because the whales are not able to pump it

here we are talking about the growth of the altcoin, that was pump and dump.
cryptocurrency is not legal yet and in our current speculative market, everything is about bitcoin. if bitcoin gets better, people speculate things will turn to better too because there is demand, on the other hand, if bitcoin gets dumped everybody will think the same to the altcoin because the price is set based on bitcoin performance not because of the use-case of the altcoin.

There are altcoins that can still arise when BTC dump due to their updates and development done, but when BTC pump they tend to pump too as mostly all alts depends on BTC. But those projects that are considered shitcoin might not be able to join in the party. It will depends on what alt if it can move on it's own but in general they all depend in BTC movement.

We can see that Altcoins with Blockchain the same as Bitcoin still needs the support of Bitcoin however in my opinion, Stable coins can survive without Bitcoin because it has a different Blockchain and it is supported by fiat currency, If you are looking for Altcoins that can make it alone then try Holding Stable coins like XRP, Tether, etc...

But I still prefer Bitcoin and other decentralized Altcoin, even though the movement in a bearish state I am sure on the future movement of Bitcoin that it will continue to surge up and surge up to the moon.

if altcoin stops dependency on btc pairs, it certainly can. The problem is that crypto is comfortable trading in harsh price fluctuations, if altcoin only goes with pair trading of something that is stable in the short term, it will not appeal to traders, they will only be like other stable coins used specifically to maintain value.

I also often pay attention to this. basically the increase in altcoin is sometimes related to the increase in the price of bitcoin. but it happened to an altcoin as a whole. when talking about specific altcoins, of course certain altcoins can pump based on their respective developments. for example, ethereum, if there is a development on ethereum, the price will most likely go up, but not involve other altcoins. but, if this is overall, I think altcoin depends on bitcoin.

Yes altcoins can grow if on future most of altcoins will trade with pair USDT or USDC or any stable coins and also if they have enough trade volume and if they are bought by a lot of people and not selled.

Numerous coins were already paired to USD and stablecoins, though they are bought by traders in USD the coins are still dependent to the price of BTC. We may not be seeing a coin like that as long as BTC functions as a base currency for altcoins. But we are seeing ETH to be like a stand alone on the DEX where its the top token for all. ETH is always paired to the ERC tokens which these ERCtokens are depended to ETH's price.

If you are in this market for a long time you will not have a dream like this, the alt coin had its run in the past especially the top coins and the rally made everyone rich who invested in it well before 2016 and now if you expect that the altcoin will have a separate rally then you will be hallucination :P.

Just look at BTC dominance and its relation to altcoins. Dominance is far too high for altcoins to do something, even if BTC drops in price, altcoins are losing twice as much as BTC does. We need another bull trend to fix things.

I'm pretty sure the crypto space can without Bitcoin, but it will probably take years to recover. Altcoins have proven to be impossible to exterminate, even when they don't seem to have much value or public interest anymore.

As always, there will be an incentive to get into the next Bitcoin before the rest does so, which means that a few coins will pump hard because of all the smart money capital entering their markets. Makes the most sense to me.

If you're talking about legitimate growth of an altcoin, you're misusing the term 'pump and dump' which is typical on bitcointalk.  It shows a serious lack of understanding.

For *most* coins, value won't increase unless bitcoin does because there are too many of them and most are dead or dying.  The bigger ones like Eth, Dash, Monero, and the like can go up on their own but it all depends on demand.  Just like bitcoin.

The long and short of this is that a coin will increase in terms of fiat value as long as it holds its bitcoin value.  If bitcoin goes up and the coin has the same price in terms of satoshis, obviously it's worth more overall.  That's the weird quirk of the altcoin market in my opinion.

Bitcoin remains the leader of crypto market for now. It determines the market sentiment and trend primarily whether bullish or bearish. Over coming years, when cryptos become mainstream, the dominance of bitcoin should go down drastically.

Altcoins can never be alone or make its own increase and decrease of value without bitcoin because since the beginning when the altcoins are being project it already paired by BTC which is the only coins that dominating the value of all cryptocurrency coin in the digital space.

Check the altcoins, how many of them can you get with USD? the amount can be count with fingers. That is why the price of most of the altcoins in the market is calculated by BTC, so the decrease or increase in its price immediately affects altcoins. Also, BTC decrease also causes to a psychological decrease, and the value of the altcoins may drop against BTC.

Their independent movement seems difficult at the present time. But we can see their opposite movements, which is possible when their reverse movement is stronger. If you check out altcoins' prices with BTC, you understand what I am trying to say.

Yes, it is true that all throughout the span of crypto's existence, altcoins are really tend to be dependent into the price movement of Bitcoin which shows that there is really a relationship between Bitcoin's price and altcoin's price within the market. Maybe there could be a possibility that a certain altcoin can do improve its price all alone breaking its dependency from Bitcoin's price movement. It is really possible to happen but difficult to execute because mostly prices are dependent into the price of Bitcoin. An altcoin can do improve all alone on its own for me if the scenario is an altcoin is really that impressive or interesting for the eyes of the investors having a large bidding for that certain altcoin which could create a movement on the price of altcoin without depending on the price of Bitcoin. But since traders tend to rely on trading based on the price of Bitcoin, price of Altcoins do depend on the price movement of Bitcoin. But still, it can really be possible that an altcoin can do it alone but it will be difficult to make happen.

These types of questions always bring me back to my cliche that "there is no crypto without Bitcoin" The fact is that with the kind of marketcap altcoins have combined will still not be half of Bitcoin's. Altcoins had their run sometime ago and since many of them have missed their purpose, they'll always seek refuge in bitcoin for survival.

If only pump and dump, i think can although not because of bitcoin. There are some altcoins that get pumped when bitcoin price still on stable phase. But, and reasons why that altcoin get pumped, usually because price still manipulated by whales if they are exist, or maybe update from developer, listed in new exchage, etc.

You better to look at coinmarketcap website and you could filter the coin list to top gained coins in 24 hour, you will see there are several coins that has gained for more than 10% each day. So i think altcoin is not 100 percent rely on bitcoin price.

When we talk investing on cryptocurrency then we can find that majority of the crypto user will invest firsf their money to bitcoin aand fter that they will find an alternative investment to choose an altcoin which they though is promising to choose. So, when they know that the bitcoin price will down they will sell bitcoin first and then they will sell altcoin as well. So, this thing will make most of altcoin market change.

Bitcoin is the bedrock of cryptos, altcoins are good for implementing experimental ideas and testing them out. If they work, they could implement most of these ideas to bitcoin. But it's good that bitcoin stays conservative and don't compromise the security for wild new ideas. Bitcoin needs to be secure, that shoud always come first so it's good that everything new is being tested in altcoins.

if you mean one altcoin, it can be pump and dump independent with bitcoin
you can look at coinmarketcap, no matter bitcoin does, there are altcoins which can be pump

But, if you mean most of altcoin. it depends on bitcoin moves, bitcoin moves impact more to most of altcoins

Monero is the one in that list that I believe truly has move on its own many times in the past and present (but also gone down on its own). Ethereum slightly so but it tends to rise only when Bitcoin does. Dash actually also does the same but they are more a pump from centralized forces, does not to me reflect much demand because really, Dash merchants are all part of marketing. Not Monero and ETH.

there is an altcoin that doesn't depend on Bitcoin, you can check it on coinmarketcap, on Big Gainers, many tokens go up high, but I'm not sure about the coins for the long term, there are only good projects namely Ravencoin which shows an increase, others have projects or coins with a position of more than top 200

Bitcoin is indeed the father of all cryptocurrency and if without it some altcoins might gone for good because bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency that no one can take control. I don't think altcoins can make it all alone without the sentiments of bitcoin price to compare in most cryptocurrency.

I think altcoin won't be able to do it alone unless stablecoin, even though altcoin follows the trend of bitcoin but there are still many who fail because it can't survive. So we can see, what will happen if there is no bitcoin, what can altcoin do? nothing can be done, so for whatever reason altcoin will always follow bitcoin.

Theoretically they can, at least that's my opinion. They have their own chains, their own communities, after many years some alts have very strong communities. Crypto became a race, and in this race like in all others competition is hard and all participants wish to be on top. It's a struggle that last for some time, and it will continue in the future, who will win nobody knows, we can make wild guesses, we can research and follow news, but in the end we just bet and hope for the best outcome.

Altcoins are dependent on bitcoin for long term pricing, but short term pricing altcoins pump and dump all the time due to low volume.  The thing to remember though is that the altcoin market wont bull while bitcoin is bearing and vice versa is the run (up or down) is sustained.

It has become a reality that almost all altcoins are affected by the movement of bitcoin. it is inevitable that this fact has been going on for a long time. but there are also those who can not be affected by bitcoin, namely ethereum has experienced it, when bitcoin goes down it moves. but it is very rare and the time is not long and will immediately remain affected by bitcoin.

I don't think if altcoin will stand alone without relying on bitcoin, one of the main pumpers of altcoin goes up with the rise of high priced bitcoin, we can now see the price of a bitcoin dump then altcoin cannot move at all, in cryptocurrency bitcoin is the most influential main coin so it will be difficult for altcoin to stand alone because that turns on altcoin on the market which is bitcoin

to make alts prosperity, it must have a lucrative appeal for investors. in 2017 it was really like diamonds for sale at the price of silver. That mentality persisted with speculators until the end of 2018 until they saw only bitcoin with potential for growth. From then on, alts were likened to fraudulent shitcoins and they stopped buying alts. You can read a lot on this forum about the opinions of many speculators. but I hope in the future the alts will have some outstanding events and save the other potential alts.

Yes, alts can rise without bitcoin. What will trigger this? High confidence in crypto. That's all.

When confidence is low, we get a bear market.
When confidence is okay, we can get upwards BTC price movement, and maybe alts dragged along a bit as well.

When confidence is very high, people are willing to move out of BTC and into alts - and this is when we have an alt bull without BTC.

Definitely not! Without bitcoin's presence, I don't think where will be altcoins by now. As everyone noticed, alts are following btc's trend in the market. And if you ask even an ordinary individual, they will say bitcoin when you ask about crypto. They always associated crypto with bitcoin. For now, I believe we need bitcoin's presence more than ever.

So far altcoin prices is always following bitcoin movements. When there's a pump in bitcoin, we'll see another green from altcoins price. And it's the same the other way around. Especially if we're seeing a dump, major altcoins will suffer the most from it.

But if you look closely, there are a few of altcoins that's not following the price of bitcoin. That's a pump and dump altcoin. Mostly it's an alt that has a cheap price, or only a moderate volume.

At the moment, I think it's not likely to happen as bitcoin is pretty much dominating the market.
This year, I haven't seen an altcoins that is independently growing without following the movement of BTC, and this year BTC's dominance rate has increase significantly and with that, its almost impossible for altcoins to rise on their own, whether we like it or not, we have to understand the current trend now.

so yeah some altcoins can be independently growing without following btc movement, but the most altcoins follows.

Of course not, but there are very very few altcoins that can stand alone against the bitcoins bearish market. However, to say that they can stand or always make their own trend going up is nearly impossible. So i think they can't be independent bitcoin is still the king of crypto and whatever movement it makes the entire altcoins will have an effect.

for now and so far i'm sure altcoins won't be able to move on their own but in reality we don't know what changes will happen in the future. but indeed, bitcoin really dominates the crypto market but sometimes there are times when altcoins are able to increase themselves but indeed, an increase that happen without a positive trend of bitcoin then the increase will not be significant and only happen for a short time

This can happen, but the days weren't very near. From my view bitcoin came into existence without any dependence. When we look upon altcoins, everything got developed following the other. This way each and every altcoin has got some connectivity which makes direct dependence over bitcoin. At times we can experience growth with altcoins without big move on bitcoin. If everything gets independent market then bitcoin will easily loss its importance.

This moment will come. It will definitely start with one altcoin and most likely it will be Ethereum. It is possible that this situation will be initiated by the upcoming fork. When the Ethereum price breaks away from the Bitcoin price on the chart and begins to grow very quickly regardless of what happens to the Bitcoin price, then investors will understand that other alcoins also have high growth potential. This will definitely be a revolutionary moment for the entire cryptocurrency market.

I can't monitor everything as altcoins is a big market, its just my observation looking to legit altcoins with real liquidity and in good exchanges.
Maybe from time to time there are coins that will pump but it would not rise further if BTC is still at the current state.

Thanks for taking effort providing me this article, it will take time to read but I will definitely check that.

Altcoins are traded against BTC mostly, so when Bitcoin goes down the price of Altcoins goes down too (and the opposite)
its just the market structure and it'll probably stay like that forever,
because if we want to change that we need to make a complex program that will buy/sell the altcoin automatically by watching the BTC price and you dont want to do that, maybe only with a stable coin to maintain its price.

There's no way alts can do it alone. Because in the first place its very unpredictable and weak. Actually Altcoin need more support because without any support it will end up to shitcoin real quick.  Because indeed that's how the market play . Wherein in just one dump it can turn alts to worthless..

Altcoin cannot do it alone without bitcoin. Besides that, the altcoin is following bitcoin, and no matter where bitcoin goes, the altcoin will behind bitcoin. As you can see from this few days ago, when bitcoin is down, many altcoins getting down too and lose the value. But if bitcoin back to the higher price although for a small pump, the altcoin will do the same. So the altcoin cannot survive without bitcoin because bitcoin is the leader of the cryptocurrency, and it will be like that.

Because Bitcoin is considered the USD of crypto meaning it is the index of all cryptocurrencies. The only time altcoins will be independent of Bitcoin's movements is for another altcoin to take its place in terms of deeper liquidity and more trading volume.

The sad fact that stablecoins have a growing and bigger trading volume than all altcoins, points to the lack of confidence with altcoins.

of course altcoin can do that, being Pumped and Dumped?sure because Whales can do this(actually they are doing this for long time now)
if you are lucky to get a chance to bet before they pump the specific coin?then congratulation though if you buy in the dumping stage then sorry but you will cry later.
do you like this kind of pumping?or would you choose the system when altcoins are relying on bitcoins growth so the longer bull will stay?

It can't be denied that most of the traders uses stable coins than certain alts the confidence that it will keep the value of the asset is much
prefer than taking the risk using alts that can fall when the dumping market is taking place. There's still no particular movement that alts
can move forward without the BTC being paired. It will take time before this will happen and still depends from how the traders and investors
will adopt and entrust to those alts.

yes, I often see for some altcoin that it can pump a little when the price of bitcoin remains stable. but, when talking about this as a whole, altcoin can't do it alone. ever since I got to know bitcoin until now, the rise in altcoin has always been triggered by the increase in high bitcoin prices. that even happened in 2017. where the price of bitcoin reached its ATH, and most altcoins at that time also reached its ATH.

This is a fact that can not be denied by altcoin, that altcoin is indeed always influenced by the development of bitcoin movements. where bitcoin rises then altcoin is encouraged and vice versa. there may be altcoins that can move on their own but not and rarely last long, they will eventually be re-influenced by bitcoin movements.

The total calculated index value is not the same as the correlation of BTC&altcoins. The dusty atmosphere in the crypto markets makes it hard to eliminate the scam projects, shitcoins, no-real-use case products projects etc. The stable coins have no proper explanation of how they achieved the 100 percent of USD back up. Somehow, CEOs don't want to talk about the gold or another valuable asset-backed up stable coins, in general.

Each altcoin can be pumped by some whale or pump&dump group, but this usually only happens for a moment. Whenever someone pump the price, he later want to recover the money invested in it. Unfortunately, but there is currently no altcoin on the market whose price could rise regardless of the price of Bitcoin.

That's the scenario that we are witnessing most likely because when the market is not stable,  pump and dump could happen easily, what we have to do is to play with the games of the whales so we can also be profitable even in this market situation.

Altcoins will grow but not alone, it has been affected or influence by bitcoin even in the past, the most popular  crypto assets in the space will have to move in order for altcoins to move and it needs to rise in order for altcoins to rise.

Thats true, bitcoin has an influence to the movement of altcoins price thats why we can see that everytime btc is turning up or down alts are following. Maybe because btc is the primary coin and the main pair in exchanges thus alts are dependent to the price of btc.

However because of btc dominance in the market alts cant follow it anymore (except for the popular coins), some alts are even continuously declining despite of bitcoin's growth.

That won't happen because Altcoin is a child of bitcoin or a complement to cryptocurrency. Altcoin will always follow the movements of bitcoin prices although some altcoins can increase its value, that is because there is a pump against Altcoin itself.

Try to look at on top altcoins which can be trade off directly with fiat.As you can see which not all the times alts prices do correlate nor follow bitcoins price direction.

It may go either along the way or would go to the opposite side.It depends on the market situation but we cant really avoid the fact that alts is mainly depending on bitcoins price wayback.
Where you do end up on exchange your alts to btc first before you can able to earn or gain fiat.

Some exchanges are trading altcoins to stable coins and that's a good start already, stable coins to usd and that would make our job easier to convert it.
It's really hard to expect now since we are not in altcoins season yet and with the big drop or the long bear market we've experience, this makes it hard for altcoins to recover, it's true it will take time so we have and need to be patient.

but maybe after 5 years altcoins will be traded directly with usd.
Hopefully it will not take that long.

Yeah, until all of the altcoins have their own separate marketcaps, I don't see them taking off on their own. As it is right now, most of the money has to come into the marketcap through Bitcoin in order to purchase whatever altcoin your'e wanting to purchase. Until you can purchase an altcoin directly with USD just about everywhere, the market will stay revolving around what happens with Bitcoin.

For pumps and dumps almost every day there is altcoin which increases.
Despite its temporary nature, the whale plays a very strong role.

Altcoins can move independently however due to its tied pair with Bitcoin their independent movements really don’t make impact if only it is tied to USD in the first place then we might notice their growth. Bitcoin serves a magnet for all crypto assets wherever it goes everything follows.

Yes, although the altcoin price can pump on its own, but it seems to be an individual pump, and not so high. for example BNB. the price of the pump little by little. but, we can see BNB reaching its ATH when the price of bitcoin pump and dominance. it also happens to altcoin altogether. altcoin can pump, but the true potential will only occur when the price of a bitcoin pump.

Bitcoin and Altcoin are interconnected, so of course they are related to price. if the price of Bitcoin grows, then behind it there is Altcoin that follows. in my opinion Altcoins will still be depend on Bitcoin because maybe we already know that Bitcoin is number one in the crypto market. maybe in the future Altcoins can have its own pump and dump, but for now Altcoins still can't do that alone without Bitcoin.

as far I see the altcoin movement, altcoin always depends on Bitcoin. that happened until now
In this case we talk about most/ majority of altcoin, not as a individual coin.

bcz if individual coin can be different from bitcoin, but in most of altcoins will follow bitcoin
see the Bitcoin dominance to understand the correlation

at least they will not depend on every bitcoin condition, and can move with market speculation that has its own consequences, this is often not profitable for altcoin but it is indeed impossible, especially because it is always in the same market. Crypto speculators are also not too fond of something that is stable for investment, all cryptocurrency cannot be separated just like that.

Let me give my opinion. It is very possible for altcoins to be independent (Bitcoin price won't always affect altcoin price) in one condition : having a real value and real use. So, when a coin is adopted widely and is trusted by people then the price might not be affected by Bitcoin anymore.

At this time, what makes altcoins very dependent to Bitcoin is because none actually trust those altcoins and that's the problem.

Of course it doesn't depend with bitcoin all alone, because altcoin became so unique in terms of profitable aspects. Although it's so hard to aim a good value, but as we waited for enough time it might come to a point that the price will increase more better than now. I would say there is zero chance of this in a million. If bitcoin goes down altcoins start fighting the battle of their existence, so we can't say they can move independently. If they can't survive when bitcoin goes down how can they exist independently?
It's written so many times here that whenever bitcoin goes green all the market goes green and the same hold true for red bitcoin also.

But unfortunately bitcoin will still dominate them all so chances it would go down is still out of the topic. So altcoin basically still need bitcoin in order to survive but only for the right one that is worthy enough to be the next bitcoin. So far, Ethereum and other stable coins are next to the line that would able to stand on their own.

Difficult question to answer, because indirectly in general altcoins who have their own networks also follow the flow of bitcoin, even stable coins will always be based on the BTC and USD. may we take the example of ETH, this eth in my opinion is altcoin which is independent and does not depend on bitcoin in terms of its creation and technology, very far different from bitcoin, eth is supported by the community and a good market purchasing power, almost every exchanger is found by the ETH market itself, but still, even though it is independent, when ETH is paired to USD it will automatically be connected to the price of btc usd, in my opinion this is natural, how can BTC not be the root of all digital crypto assets and will continue until the internet dies.

not all but some alt can depend on itself, when btc pump / dump there are some who do not follow it.
but the btc value will also affect their increase in value regardless of the project being good / bad.

indeed only a few, but those in the 100 best coins are only 2 coins today, Enigma and Kyber Network have risen quite high by 15%, if you look at the coin chart in the top 100, you will see everything the average price is at under support, of course altcoin will do its own way this time, always monitor the altcoin that you love and you will benefit if you trade

I don't think any coin is going to come out and overtake the number 1 position that Bitcoin holds anytime soon. Ethereum has had a good run, but it's market cap is still only 1/10th of Bitcoins. I think Bitcoin will always remain on top. It's basically a requirement to buy Bitcoin before you can buy any of the other altcoins as it is right now. So unless that changes and you can buy said altcoin directly easily, Bitcoin will stay on top. Everytime you invest in an altcoin, it raises the price of Bitcoin slightly since you have to have it first to trade for an altcoin usually.

Yes, few altcoins is not following their price indication about the Bitcoin and even sometimes they are not following about the fluctuations happen to the altcoins. They completely bother about the prices of Bitcoin, this makes the price of altcoin will surely decrease in the market and even though we see active developments.

If we talking about majority the current altcoins then i think it would be the nature of altcoin itself that altcoin development will always be dependent on bitcoin price trend whether it will down or up because altcoin cannot live without bitcoin and if people says there was some of some of altcoin can able to reach uptrend while the price of bitcoin down indeed it was true but usually it won't last long

to do it yourself as it is very difficult to do by altcoins who do not have good popularity because altcoins of course still need a partner in many things such as sales so they can run selling and buying there. so it's very impossible for altcoins to do it themselves without bitcoin

I'm not sure what can be a purpose of this question. Why would alt-coins do something alone, why would Bitcoin do something
alone? Crypto-currencies should be connected and to work together, like we should be united and work together. We can have
fun, and we can try to outsmart each other, but we should do that in fair and honest way.
Crypto-currencies should be a ground for all of us to have trusted economy! Nobody needs to do anything alone, we can do it
together.
at least they will not depend on every bitcoin condition, and can move with market speculation that has its own consequences, this is often not profitable for altcoin but it is indeed impossible, especially because it is always in the same market. Crypto speculators are also not too fond of something that is stable for investment, all cryptocurrency cannot be separated just like that.

Of course it doesn't depend with bitcoin all alone, because altcoin became so unique in terms of profitable aspects. Although it's so hard to aim a good value, but as we waited for enough time it might come to a point that the price will increase more better than now. Let's just expect more new updates from the community, and it became so surprising in the future.
Neither Altcoin nor Bitcoin will be able to run on its own. For considering that they were an integral one. So how good it is by having support each other. Behind Altcoin's current advances, Bitcoin is also one of the comparators that continues to emerge with many new variants. Making it quite profitable by running alongside Altcoins. Not many suggestions in addition to supporting the progress of Altcoin development from now on.

Alts can't start a bull run by themselves, they don't have the strength. If you look at previous alt seasons, they have always followed a bitcoin-led whole-market bull run.
Bitcoin is the only coin that has the strength and can shift the sort of volumes that are required to get a bull market into full swing. This is why I don't think we'll have an alt season yet - because we need a bitcoin surge first.

Maybe in a couple of years some of the top alts will be strong enough to start a bull market by themselves. At the moment though, no.

At first, I think that altcoin is just primarily based on bitcoin prices. But if you are going to think about it, cryptocurrencies have different technologies behind them, so I don't think that bitcoin must exist so these altcoins are going to boom as well. There are different cryptocurrencies that exist before bitcoin but bitcoin wasn't based on them. Bitcoin is the number 1 right now so it is going to be difficult.

It will only realized once the entire industry being adopted and acknowledge the usages of those existing alternative coins around the market. But for now, the market still relying with how bitcoin moves and the trends that bitcoin continue to dominates it will only change things after the full adoptions of many alts, it can happen but it will take time, same thing with how bitcoin manifested this success.

What will it take for altcoin to prosper without bitcoin's involvement?
no altcoin can't(not to the point that they are being pumped because this will not stay longer and surely will dump again)because i think for those who have been here since 2017 obviously we have seen how great bitcoin can give us all specially those altcoins that needs being backed up by bitcoin.
and we will have another proof this coming 2020 after Halving happens if what is the true stand of each Alts,if they can grow their own or they will rely on the movement of the number 1 ranked currency.

I'm not sure about what cryptocurrencies existing before Bitcoin are you talking about ?! Can you give some examples?

As for the technology standing behind Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, it is quite similar. I think you mean usability - and here many cryptocurrencies will certainly find their place on the market. And that's why, in my opinion, there will come a time when altcoin prices will change regardless of what happens to the BTC price.

No I don't think so. Bitcoin market cap alone is more then collective market cap of all altcoins. I have my trust in ethereum till last year that it may survive independently but I don't think that anymore. At least in coming five years altcoins have to rely on bitcoin for there survival.

You should not lose hope in Ethereum. In my opinion, this is the only  Altcoin at the moment, which can change the value regardless of the Bitcoin price. Ethereum has lost a lot of value, which is why its potential is huge. If the upcoming hardfork succeeds, I think ETH has a chance to find its own place on the market.

when bitcoin retrace, altcoins retraced even more.

Which altcoin do you mean, every altcoin has it's own growth. I mean there are many altcoin that has more than 10% only in just less than 24 hours, that means altcoin is not always following bitcoin price but there are so many altcoin that has it's own community and market segmentation because cryptocurrency is so wide right now, we cannot associate any altcoins with bitcoin.

as long as that altcoin has utility usage and that will always have the price. Remember about the majority of altcoins were not having the product are following bitcoin trend but the exception must be applied to the altcoin that is having a good product. they can create their own fomo without the need for bitcoin. until whenever Altcoin will continue to depend on bitcoin, although sometimes there is an increase in altcoin, of course because the price of bitcoin is experiencing an increase. although sometimes some altcoin can jump because there are certain parties who can deliberately pump it but of course it's only temporary because altcoin can't do it alone

Altcoins cannot work individually without bi help of Bitcoin and some few top alternate cryptocurrencies. I have seen many coins in the coinmarketcap list and after few months that has been erased by that company due to lack of volume and supply on that coin.
sweater side we can keep Bitcoin always in your wallet which is more equalent from the alt coins you are saving.

Yes they can't, because when trading they are in pair of bitcoin and mostly all altcoins are swinging when bitcoin moves. Technically speaking altcoins cant stand by their own feet and they need to wait for a bitcoin pump and they will follow the price. But there are some altcoins that have a pump and dump by the people and usually, you can be noticed this when the market showing red and they are green price color.

It is because altcoins are considered derivatives of Bitcoin even though the technology is totally different - apart from both are blockchains. And secondly Bitcoin is the most traded and well known crypto kind of like the USD against all fiat.

I think some altcoins doesn't follow the fluctuation of the market and the value will or the equivalent will stay the same as ewual to bitcoin. And the majority will surely be affected and go with the flow when the market is really going down.

Therefore, we just only need to invest and make a research of thr best altcoin that even the market is in crisis we can still make a profit out of it.

There will definitely be many altcoins that will never rise again even if Bitcoin reaches the new ATH. However, I think some of the top10 have a chance to break away from the Bitcoin price and set its own price. In my opinion, Ethereum has the greatest chance, but first let's see if hardfork succeeds.

yes, basically altcoin can indeed go up by itself without the help of bitcoin. but to maximize the increase, sometimes altcoin needs a boost from bitcoin. so, when the bitcoin price starts pumping, the altcoin price can also go up. but for individual increments, development of the project concerned with a specific altcoin is required.

You and everyone else can think whatever you want to think,,, but the fact is simply. Altcoins are altcoins, they do not have their own strength to make their own markets yet and so have to follow the fate of bitcoin no matter what. Even the Top 5 alts who sometimes can follow their own trends eventually have to sit tight together with Bitcoin.

Many more years is needed before alts can break away from BTC influence.

Because altcoin is easily controlled by developers, so it can go up at any time if they want it to be pumped, but on average now relying only on market conditions means it will be centered on bitcoin as well, Bitcoin has increased by only about 10% then altcoin can go up more than that's because altcoin jumps at the pump only briefly never last long.

I haven't seen it yet which altcoin is independent to BTC as of now. ETH almost make it though. The fact that it has its own market where the tokens are paired to ETH. DEX are often base on ETH too such as etherdelta and IDEX. Given time like 5 years from now, it may appear that tokens like ETH, EOS and TRON might just have be semi independent to BTC.

ETH is about the only coin that I can see ever becoming it's own independent currency anytime soon. It would require us starting to see ATM's like we have for Bitcoin but for ETH instead almost everywhere and a lot more adoption of ETH as a payment option. But, it is certainly something that could be possible in the future. The biggest thing is being able to easily buy ETH with USD from many different places and take Bitcoin completely out of the equation.

Bitcoin can be said to be the king of all coins in crypto, so I totally agree with the opinion above that bitcoin has become a benchmark for the development of all altcoins.
so bitcoin is very big role for the development of crypto itself so it is very difficult if there is no bitcoin. I haven't thought of a suitable substitute yet.

In my opinion altcoins will continue to follow the price of bitcoin, because that is the fact. From the beginning bitcoin was created to my
knowledge always dominating the market, this is an indication that there are no other coins that can replace bitcoin until now. According
to coinmarketcap site data bitcoin is still very dominant at 66%. Therefore altcoins can't do it alone, it will always follow the price of bitcoin.
But even so it's not meaningful we must invest all our capital in bitcoin, altcoins are created so that the growth of the cryptocurrency
investment world is healthier. So it is as good also invest your funds not only in bitcoin, but in part in altcoins.

What you say can not be denied by anyone, because bitcoin has become the basis for the growth of all the existing altcoin. it's hard to be able to altcoin not depend on bitcoin and to my knowledge only ethereum has ever escaped from that dependency and had shot quite high. but it can't last very long and come back to dependence on bitcoin. maybe for now it is not yet and whether someday there will be a replacement? difficult questions to answer.

actually altcoin is also able to make its own pumps. I even thought it was easier. especially shitcoin. but the best pumps only exist in the best altcoin projects. when an altcoin project is consistent with its development and is beneficial to the crypto industry and even the real world. altcoin will continue to increase. because investors will enter it. they will not have an impact on the fall of bitcoin. but during the project there was no update. even like a dead coin. then prices will follow Bitcoin even more.

Altcoins can move independently from the price of bitcoin but for that they need very specific circumstances, they need the price of bitcoin to be stable but they also need a positive atmosphere so investors are willing to take risks, and when you understand those two factors then you can easily see that we do not have the necessary factors to see an altcoin season.

The price of bitcoin is not stable, it is going down and because of it people are not really positive about the short term prospects of the market and that is slowing down the market of altcoins.

I think the alts will automatically grow when investors see it sideway at the long bottom. Like in early 2019, the price of ETH and the top coins are both sideway at very low levels. then about 1 month later, it can grow strongly again. Given the current situation of the crypto market, I think the speculators are looking forward to bitcoin, the upcoming halving event and we will still have to confront the Altcoins bear in the long term until Q3 of 2020.

Altcoins can move independently from the price of bitcoin but for that they need very specific circumstances, they need the price of bitcoin to be stable but they also need a positive atmosphere so investors are willing to take risks, and when you understand those two factors then you can easily see that we do not have the necessary factors to see an altcoin season.

The price of bitcoin is not stable, it is going down and because of it people are not really positive about the short term prospects of the market and that is slowing down the market of altcoins.
it's entirely based on the supply and demand of the market, not the stability of bitcoin. Bitcoin has been stable for quite a few days now, but the alts have not moved up, which is saying that the demand for buying alts is not much, they are paying more attention to bitcoin. The Halving event has made bitcoin hotter and so is the alts market, it needs something that can appeal to investors to invest in it. for example, top alts offer good news about their new partner or superior technology products.

I don't think there will be any Altcoin alive if there is no Bitcoin. Every Altcoin is running on the basis of Bitcoin. People rarely bought alts without buying Bitcoin. So there will be no existence of them.
BTC is basically the only backing of altcoins as for now. It is the only real reason the rest of them may exist. As for now it's purely speculation and people trying to leverage their profit on phenomena called BITCOIN. Unless other networks grow big and stable and there is a lot of adaption they will be btc's bitches.

We can really see the rate of demand of such project but we when we do talk about market trend then its no surprise that these coins
or projects do really pump out too but it doesnt mean that they would able to stand on their own but we cant say that they do depend with bitcoin
most of the time and this would always matter with demand or support.

in fact that altcoin in price is still influenced by bitcoin prices, so to make altcoin grow by itself will be difficult because altcoin is always under bitcoin

as long as the market is still in a state like this, of course, it will be difficult for an altcoin that does not have strong market power to survive and grow. of course, the hope is that the value of bitcoin is improving. but not for now with the declining bitcoin market conditions and of course it will not be good for an altcoin. if you now switch to bitcoin I guess that is the right choice. because I also do the same thing with the altcoin that I have.

The price of bitcoin has not been stable at all just recently there was a huge movement, but when I talk about stability I think that you misinterpreted what I meant, the price of bitcoin needs to remain stable not for days but for months before we have any chance of seeing a growth in the market of altcoins.

If the price of bitcoin keeps moving then investors do not really have any need to look for any alternative investment because they can always hope that bitcoin will give them the profits they are looking for.

The whole crypto will always act as one. It is not because of individual characteristics of each coin but it is because of human behavior. We humans tend to group things together so that in the markets, industries fall and rise together.

If the market situation like this, it is impossible to predict the altcoin situation, for the past 1 year we are seeing a complete downtrend for the altcoin. As of now, the market situation is changing and it will help the altcoin to increase their prices in the coming days. We shouldn't lose our hope because any time there is a chance for altcoins to increase their prices.

Altcoins themselves can grow without bitcoin. But take a look at this simple logic, if bitcoin did not exist do you think altcoins will be invented also? Maybe 1% chance since Satoshi made the decentralisation and new type of currency using technology. A peer to peer network that connects people all over the world. Therefore, altcoins depend on the success of bitcoin.

the past year is the trend down? Is that true? if you look from 2017 maybe that's right. but if you look at trading trends from the beginning of this year I think it's better with the declining conditions that have occurred altcoin can survive in the market and not disappear. now we see altcoin with strong potential in the market. and we are just waiting for the moment of the market pump. at that time we will see a good altcoin.

It is really difficult for an altcoin to pump without the help of bitcoin, most of crypto investors also use altcoins to accumulate more bitcoin. However, I also see some altcoins significantly pump without the effectiveness of the price of bitcoin i.e: EGT , they pumped ~ 200x as I remembered, but I think that just pump and dump strategy from their devs. In overall, I dont think altcoin price can be increased as long as bitcoin is still in its downtrend

It is true that when the market is going up similar assets have a tendency to move together but this tendency is even greater in the market of cryptocurrencies because as we know a substantial amount of the projects are just copies of bitcoin which means that they are heavily dependent on the behaviour of bitcoin for their progress.

And that is a problem because everything depends on the fate of one single coin and when bitcoin is not doing well then the whole market is not doing well.

Well it is because no other altcoin can keep up or meet what bitcoin can do now so altcoin's behavior and price will really be dependent on what is happening with bitcoin and indeed almost every altcoins is copied or have the same system as bitcoin has so no doubt why altcoins move depend on what move bitcoin has but i think it will not stay that way always, we are innovating and so do altcoins so maybe there will be some innovation that will happen to altcoins that can chage the way it is.

I think the biggest reason for Bitcoins huge dominance is that people that don't even know what crypto is invest in it whenever they see it on the news. You don't really see the news talking about how Ethereum has went up 30% in the last month. At least not on the regular news stations. Whenever the news says that Bitcoin has returned 100% this year, there will be brand new people coming in to the market and investing in Bitcoin.

LOL, this is a little complicated. if it depends on bitcoin, then altcoin cannot do it alone. maybe he wrote the correct sentence wrong.
however, in general, the altcoin will go up when bitcoin prices go up, the same as now. if the price of bitcoin goes down, then the price of altcoin will go down. but for special circumstances, the price of an altcoin can develop on its own, like developing something new, or something like that. but to see a real rise, it requires a boost from bitcoin.

He must have forgot the "T" on "CAN and this is a usual typo for someone who writes fast to point out his view. Like me, his construction of sentences isn't as perfect for English isn't his native tongue. But I can agree an altcoin can't stand without BTC. Just like ERC tokens can't stand alone without ETH while ETH also is dependent to BTC.  IF a token is paired to USD which anyone can buy this token thru credit cards I think it could work on specially if there is really a use case of this token which has demands.

there is a possibility when altcoin moves on the market not based on the movement or support of bitcoin. because they have a community that can move their prices on the market. moreover, there is a USDT and fiat exchanges might be able to boost altcoin if there is no support from bitcoin that pioneers crypto market trading.

That is correct and indicative of the budding growth of  crypto currencies. The mere fact that the whole space is still nascent means it is actually genrally bullish to invest in coins. Can altcoins do it alone? Not today, but someday when there is actual and real demand.

It was right, not today, not tomorrow but in the coming years. Altcoins still depending on Bitcoin trends, the entire market will suffer decline once Bitcoin demand will decrease. We can't tell when but it gonna be happening in the future, it is all about how the people/investors trusted to altcoins.

Altcoin cannot do it alone.  This is the sole reason that the altcoins movements have always been in accordance with bitcoin. Therefore, when bitcoin bulls, altcoins follow suits and vice versa.

or some enterprise adoption or just some group/company adoption so they believe in the coin and using it even if its just to store value
there are really not many coins with that

That wouldn't happen, lack of interest for people to invest in btc will lead to lack on interest on altcoins as well, and Binance might not be able to survive when people are not trading. Every altcoins really depends on BTC and we can clearly see that.

Altcoins really can't do it alone, not yet, and likely not for a few years. The markets are too thin and confidence is too low. Perhaps we will see the alt season that many have been anticipating, but this needs much higher market confidence. That can be achieved through a prolonged and sustained price rise across the board. So likely bitcoin dominance would either increase or remain similar to now, until we have significantly higher prices. Once that has happened and BTC growth has started to slow, then we see conditions where an alt season can begin.

it shouldnt be typo, bcz it is very important. people wont get it what he said.
No matter he is native tongue or not, it doesnt affect at all. bcz this is a basic thing that should consider more.

until this time, altcoin *still* and *always* depends with Bitcoin. I think that is because altcoin as a 'option' by whales
so, the first option is Bitcoin and altcoin is another. whales tends to choose Bitcoin than altcoin makes altcoin depend with Bitcoin.

No, I don't think so! From what I see, Altcoin is now a hole of startup projects, so I can't equate the growth of the value of Altcoin depends on Bitcoin. Ethereum, XRP, XMR, Litecoin, Dash, ... all had a period of value growth without having to depend on the same thing in Bitcoin (early 2017).

With the above listed, I'm convinced that the growth of lone Altcoin with an active community could still happen soon. Look at-in Ethereum community in the next time. It will prove my opinion is right!

Each alt can make some progress on its own, I don't question that. But entire crypto market grows together, all coins contribute, some more some less, and now it is the entire system, connected in many ways. I couldn't imagine crypto without bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, even a doge coin.
https://lookiamtravel.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/6.png
We can learn from this old proverb, for crypto become globally adopted all projects needs to work together, or at least to be connected at some levels. Global adoption should be the main goal for all of us.

Altcoin never can do it alone and need support from other altcoin how to back to higher price, need support for all community from bigger altcoin like ethereum, ripple, litecoin and BNB coin to make their season come back again with higher price, don't worry although with lower price right now always have chance to be with higher price.

The reason this happens is because BTC is the gateway. All the trading pairs on major exchanges require BTC. Inevitably, they will rise and fall tied to Bitcoin. What needs to happen is an altcoin that stands alone and offers ease of access and use without any mention of Bitcoin. Something that can infiltrate social media and go viral through use, being it's own marketing engine, becoming a norm without all the stigma attached to the word Bitcoin.

We're trying to do that with Aricoin but we have a long way to go.

Market liquidity is formed from various trading volumes, to continue to move in speculation, heterogeneous trading is needed. altcoin still needs bitcoin as a benchmark for long-term prices, but things can be different if altcoin always dominates and lasts longer, so that every altcoin has hope to develop itself because of the influence of market confidence.

This is one of those cases in which we do not know what came first, after all I could make the argument that most people prefer to put their money in bitcoin because it already has a huge market cap and that is what causes its popularity among the media.

But regardless of the reasons behind the popularity of bitcoin it does not seem like this is going to change and independently of what you may think of bitcoin it is clear that bitcoin is by far the best investment this market can offer.

it is not possible, however, BTC affects the value of Alt, unless every Exchange does not accept the exchange BTC = Alt, only accepts fiat = alt, then alt will be independent even without the presence of BTC.

i dont think it is possible without bitcoin. First of all the market is so bearish at the moment. uptrend can begin only with bitcoin. marketcap grow if people start investing in bitcoin. and after a while (when whales, mid. investors thinks that they made enough profit with bitcoin), money maystart to move on altcoins. that may cause to an altcoin bull.

altcoin does need bitcoin to keep growing, especially to get to altseason. bitcoin movements can provide potential price movements for altcoin, because altcoin is currently still very dependent on bitcoin prices and is difficult to release for this. maybe when the market has improved, altcoin can grow by itself.

it is not possible, however, BTC affects the value of Alt, unless every Exchange does not accept the exchange BTC = Alt, only accepts fiat = alt, then alt will be independent even without the presence of BTC.

A lot of the alts on exchanges like Kraken can be exchanged directly for dollars or euros. And the Korean exchanges allow you to exchange alts directly for Korean Won.

So the potential is now there for an alt to develop an independent existence from bitcoin.

Even when it will be accepted fiat as the main pair and altcoin will always pegged with bitcoin. Bitcoin as the main pair who determine all of the prices for altcoin.
Since it was dominating the whole market and altcoin can't do it alone. But altcoin can do that as long as it will be a backed coin.

For now it seems difficult because Bitcoin still remains the dominance of investors for crypto currency issues.  Alt coins will be released if when bitcoin has been widely owned and only a little is left in the market it can only happen in my opinion.

However things go advanced the usage of fiat hasn't decreased. This portrays fiat to be dominant over bitcoin even though the value of bitcoin is much high compared to the traditional fiat. Same as that bitcoin serve as a dominant currency or investment over altcoins, though there were more number of altcoins that are high in terms of growth than bitcoin. In this pattern each and everything is interconnected and has got dependence.

Altcoins can never be alone or make their own increase and decrease in value without bitcoin because BTC, which is the only coin that dominate the value of all cryptocurrency coins in digital space. All of the other coins depend on it and that's how it will continue to be forever. Because bitcoin is the king. It bitcoin pumps in the future then you can expect all the crypto to rise a lot.

This isn't exactly true. You could have a small pump on a coin with just good news coming out. For instance, the upcoming Ethereum update. Now, I can't guarantee that this will absolutely increase the price, but I'm using it as an example. Whenever news comes out that is good for a coin, you will see a small pump. Usually this balances itself out in the long run and the price recovers, but there can be small pumps in coins without the Bitcoin price moving at all. I have seen it happen with a few different coins over the years.

that's because bitcoin dominates almost all exchanges compared to altcoin. maybe altcoin will live without bitcoin, but that will happen when the market starts to believe in altcoin which is full of scams. bitcoin is still the best and it helped altcoin grow to this day.

How altcoins depend on themselves and do it alone!, and most of the exchanges are based on the Bitcoin pair, Bitcoin is the founding coin and is the highest market cap value compared to altcoins that have not reached 1% of the market cap value of Bitcoin, I believe that all investors have confidence in the bitcoin and ethereum, so it is impossible to rely on other altcoins in light of the existence of these two coins.

It will be hard to do alone. People originally invested in crypto because of bitcoin. Now they are still interested in bitcoin due to their past judgment. Notice, as bitcoin grows, so does the market. and now Bitcoin Dominance is still very high and it shows that people are still more interested in bitcoin. Investing in alts now only brings big losses and risks.

I am putting a lot of faith in this year because this is the decisive time for my current profit. In fact, 2018 and 2019 are a very bad time for all investors and some altcoins made me lose money very quickly so this time I will think and choose safer investments. Of course it is still impossible to avoid risks, but 2020 is expected to be the best year of the crypto market.

In addition, investment demand has been increasing significantly in recent days and if this continues, altcoin season will soon occur and the value of Bitcoin may reach new highs.

if looking at one or some coins, I agree that altcoin can be pump alone
but if we look at most altcoins, then it would be wrong. bcz Bitcoin affects more in most of crypto

if Bitcoin dominance is high, no matter how good altcoin, it wouldnt go anywhere, Bitcoin will still be dominance.
Altcoin' pump needs reducing from Bitcoin dominance, if not, it wouldnt happen.
that's why Bitcoin is matter in affecting altcoin price

It needs to be done for altcoins to be able to do it on their own, I don't think it's an easy thing because there may be so many things that need to be possessed to be able to do it or walk alone without being affected by bitcoin

I am not underestimating altcoins but there are really some altcoins that cannot really do it.  Bitcoins serves as reference coin. So what's the catch in here? We need to strengthen both altcoins and Bitcoin. Just support it.

It's true that Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency, but just like the first products - televisions, telephones ... with time better technology appears and those products that were first just become old. I think Bitcoin will be the most popular one for a long time, but sooner or later some Altcoin will appear, which will simply be better technologically and will take the place of Bitcoin.

If Bitcoin is still subordinated, they will establish the framework that all countries are trying to establish. If they succeed, then surely altcoins will take decentralization into their own hands and will not be allowed to remain without the most important thing. Therefore, I think that there should always be bitcoin, even if not it, then one of the altcoins in its place. A forerunner is always needed.

Governments will not be so naive and stupid as to restrict only Bitcoin itself. If regulations are introduced or even a ban is introduced, it will happen for all cryptocurrencies, and not just for Bitcoin.
I think an interesting situation can happen in China, because there the government wants to introduce its own cryptocurrency, and when it does, it is very likely that it will ban all others.

previously Altcoin can do that without following the bitcoin price movements, I remember when in 2015-2017 Altcoin movements were very fast. almost every Altcoin can produce even though BItcoin is not moving (stable). And it is very profitable for day traders. but the current pattern has changed. where Altcoin really follows BItcoin prices. and for now, it might continue to follow the price movements of Bitcoin I guess

A drastically new approach is needed, essentially people need to hear of a digital currency and not have bitcoin cross their minds in the slightest

We've been working on some ideas for over 5 years - we're getting there  :)

Bitcoin is the mother of all coins and I really believe on its power. Though altcoins are really agressive, I think altcoins cannot do it alone.

Bitcoin is becoming a major currency which we the Bitcoin currency will not be dominated by the others, of course, we might see technology will improve but dominant currency will be few. Other currencies will not have much influence like Bitcoin.

no altcoin can do it alone without the help of Pumping Bitcoin or Manipulators in this market, altcoins is option after Bitcoin so before they Pumped Bitcoin will come first and that is the reality of this investment market.
it is sad to see that many people here are looking to the success of each altcoin they Bought but not checking first about what Bitcoin progress.
Bitcoin is the mother of all coins and I really believe on its power. Though altcoins are really agressive, I think altcoins cannot do it alone. I am not underestimating altcoins but there are really some altcoins that cannot really do it.  Bitcoins serves as reference coin. So what's the catch in here? We need to strengthen both altcoins and Bitcoin. Just support it.
maybe in future there is a chance when the mas adoption already happen and all the currency has their own function from there maybe altcoins can do it alone with their own supporters .
