I remember when people used to say having 21 was good, because then you would have 1 millionth of the supply. Now I see people talking about some 6.15 number, which I have no idea why or how anyone came up with that number.
Other guys tell people having 1 bitcoin will be 'enough' in the future, and how long into the future, I do not know.
I recently saw people saying online that 1 bitcoin is not attainable for most people, and they should aim for 0.1 bitcoin, and that sounded crazy to me. Surely if something is so important, you can find a way of getting 1 bitcoin over a year or two?

Do you guys have a certain amount you are aiming for?
Personally I dont have a cap on the amount I want to get. I just keep getting as much bitcoin as I can, when I can. Stacking sats I think the cool kids call it.
I dont think I will ever stop doing this. If I need to liquidate some in order to live and buy things, i'll do that, but i'll always keep trying to replenish what I spend.

I didn't set a target for bitcoin that I should accumulate every year. Because it just gives me pressure, right now what I earn I am saving the half and the rest I will convert to fiat currency to spend on my daily needs.

At the moment, I have the same plan as you. Just accumulating as much as I could because I think Bitcoin is still heavily undervalued and while I still could spend a big portion of my money to buy Bitcoin. The thing is, I don't have any final goal with this Bitcoin. I'm not hodling it hoping the price would skyrocket so I can buy a house, for example. I don't know what to do with it later, I just think that accumulating now is the right thing to do financially.

Keep accumulating if you can. Only spend what you can. BTC is still undervalued so far and a lot still believe with it's potential, but it hasn't really reached the point where people need to own one. Currently, the system of fiat is still ongoing and even though economic problems are going off here and there like how the global debt has increased by so much, the fiat still goes on. You can take it as the world is letting BTC develop and grow slowly so that once it takes the stage, the world would be able to use it much more efficiently compared to Fiat.

We can't calculate the real how much of 1 bitcoin can be in the near future. We might expect it to be these but turns out to be low in value. So as long as we can buy then better buy some if we really see BTC its possible importance and effect in the future. I suggest to still do diversification add some in BTC and buy other assets also to be safe no matter what happen in bitcoin.

i am doing 50-50 as well , what i earn , i invest 50% and save the later when a good project that has possible growth i spent upto 60% of my funds to achieve my goals on a specific project :D

I think that I've seen at some point the numbers go down from 21BTC to 10BTC. I am not surprised that it's updated to 6.15BTC, although I've missed that.
However, as said, there's no certainty on how high can Bitcoin go. And the numbers may be simply based on how much each and everybody can acquire (and everybody want to be rich sometime). It's a simple wishful thinking, I don't think it has any ties to reality.

0.1BTC? Heh... no. Now the expectations about the halving are big. But if there won't be another bubble in the next ~2 years there's a good chance the "estimation" go again towards 21BTC...

You can never have enough BTC. Just keep accumulating them while also trying to diversify your trading portfolio across various coins that you think would grow well in the future. The future of the economy and commerce is imo, held by the power of cryptocurrencies, so investing in them from now on doesn't really seem a bad thing. Plus, even if they aren't, a lot of profit could be obtained just from simply trading and holding them for some time. Look at how BTC started from 0.something $ to its $7.5k right now.

No one can tell, and it all depends to you. However, I don't think putting all your funds to the point that you become short in your needs is a good idea. It's much better to still split up your holdings to different investments. If you're always maxing out your available funds, and Bitcoin recieves a huge crash, then you could lose a lot of your investment and be forced to exit even when you're at a loss.

It might depend on the price of profit taking for bitcoin. 5 million dollar is enough to spend through retirement and anyone retiring earlier will think of adding more. if bitcoin hit $250k, 20 bitcoin would have been good retirement plan for the next bullrun. Average monthly spending in the USA is $6500 (maybe lesser if house is already acquired), so with 5 million, the retirement plan will take care of 65 years of your life. Can I ask you a counter-question? What do you think the possible price of 1 BTC will be in the future, 5-10 years from now and how much money you consider a sufficient amount?

21 is just because of a total BTC supply of 21 million, there is nothing special in that number, and 6.15 is probably 6.25 BTC which will be reward for one mined block after next halving, you mixed up some things.

I would like to have at least 10 BTC one day, and I would like to see the value of 1BTC at $100 000 which would mean I would have $1 million, but that does not mean that I would not be satisfied with 5 BTC.

It is not easy to buy or get in any other way 1 whole BTC, there are countries where wages are very small, and people barely survive. For them, even 0.10 BTC is a difficult task. Some others are more fortunate to live in richer countries, so it is much easier for them to reach that goal.

Ideally if you're accumulating bitcoin for the long term, you should only do it with funds that you're not going to need for other things.  If you have to sell bitcoin in order to pay for things you need, you're probably putting too much money into it.  There's no shame in going slow while building your bitcoin position.

I never set a goal as far as how much bitcoin I want to have, because I have the type of personality where nothing is ever enough.  Even if I had 21BTC it still wouldn't satisfy me--and I don't have anything close to that right now.

Money is power and while you do have a lot of it you have more power. As a matter of fact, you as a man without money may not have confidence to face the future. He wouldn't stand a chance in this competitive world, where  there is always someone better than him. With 21 BTC, its good to survive but without the skills either that 21 BTC will just be lost after few months. With that I can say there is nothing you can say enough is enough you will need to earn more every day and save more BTC specially if you have wife and kids to provide.

Yeah basically it depends on the price if the price gets higher maybe around $20000 then it's quite fair to say that 21 is enough but if it gets high then the number of bitcoin could also depends. I don't have any dream of acquiring those huge amount of bitcoin, a decent and fair square number of bitcoin for me is enough. I don't need to be rich or what, I just need to live my life to the fullest using bitcoin as driver. I do not aim that much coz unexpected things are better.  :D

I don’t know where 6.15 comes from. I suggest a goal of 1 Bitcoin.  Right now that is attainable and should be worth a lot of money within 5 years.  

I had heard the 21 Bitcoin number a few years ago but that is now out of reach for most people.  Just try for 1.

The basic idea is that you have a certain number of currencies, this number is known and cannot be increased.
As for 21 million coins, it does not matter how many? If we leave it to people, they will not agree on a specific number, and perhaps the Fibonacci sequence is the one that contributed to the choice.
If you don't like the 21, you can make a hard fork and add as many currencies as you want.  :-\

Theres no such thing about enough on how many bitcoin you should collect on.People do collect as much as they can and 1 btc is enough is just a presumption

0.1 bitcoin is really too little. I know that everyone is responding to the halving event but 0.1 will not do any miracle. for me, you must have at least 100 bitcoins to be one of the most influential people in the crypto community. Meanwhile, you will be able to control the market and you have a lot of choices. When you have money, you will have a very relaxed mentality and you will create better opportunities than if you only hold a few bitcoins.

I have a similar plan. It's hard to set some final amount of Bitcoins ecause of volatility. That is why I'm trying to save certain amount but without precise sum and the rest I'm spending. That way Bitcoin helps my finances but I also strongly beleive that Bitcoin isn't made only for savings and to be forhotten in some wallet but to be actively used in everyday life.

How much money is enough?  Same thing.  There shouldnt be a number you work towards only a number that increases over time.  You should look at it more in terms of how much more bitcoin is a good amount for this year.  Smaller sample sizes makes for easier targets and goals.  Good luck

enough, because you always want  more. So, the best strategy would be to keep on buying or earning bitcoins whilst it is still cheap. Once Bitcoin

0.21 BTC will be way more then you ever need. Only 100 million people can have that much.  Not to mention things like this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5206249.0  They hold a million by them self. Satoshi holds another million. Cheap old bastard!  Everyone that have more then 0.21 BTC should consider to donate them to those that have less or even none.

As you have said, you keep on accumulating as much as you can and that's all you have to do. No matter how many bitcoins others telling you to have in the future, it depends on how you'll get hustle for it. 0.1BTC or 1BTC depends on how much you can. The amount is already decent while we're on the current price but it's not that bad to aim more but if you can't accumulate that much, at least you have tried for it. But if you will analyze the cost of living in your country and your lifestyle, you'll see how much you really want.

There are no limits when you talk about profit, everyone wants more Bitcoin. I personally put my bitcoin into a trusted investment and trade daily for extra profit. I set 5-10% of my daily trading profit, also 3% per month for my investment.
I don't aim for a certain amount, as long as my bitcoin growth increases it's more than enough.

There is no certain amount of bitcoin that you can hold if you gonna be accumulated bitcoin maybe buy some bitcoin so that you can reach your want amount of bitcoin. If you don't have enough money to buy a whole bitcoin then you can buy a sats until you accumulate 1 bitcoin. As for me 1-2 bitcoin is enough for me to hold in a long term.

Everyone has their own speculation and prediction about "bitcoin's future" so the numbers and figures are a product of their own analyzation.

We are living in different standards so buying BTC1 is obviously difficult for others to do. Even purchasing BTC0.1 is quite expensive for others. I don't understand why such concern should be raised.

To make this short, generally, if you really believed that bitcoin has a future, whether via your own instinct or have a valid basis, you should just accumulate BTC whatever you can.

Giving money to people that have less or no money at all doesn't sound like a good thing. You are better off educating people and explain the importance of Bitcoin to them in the best possible way. That's how you very likely will get people to do everything they can to accumulate as many satoshis as possible.

If you have been in Bitcoin for a couple of years and you regret not having bought more coins while you easily could afford to buy more, you just didn't take Bitcoin serious enough. I have a tremendous respect for OG's who have held through the multiple boom and bust cycles without losing focus on the actual goal and potential of Bitcoin.

Nothing is enough as humans are forever discontented. So, It dont really matter how much would Bitcoin cost in the next few years as long as we are able to maximize the probability to become very rich. It depends on your level of greed. actually, with 0.1 Bitcoin it is too low and it seems that everyone can achieve it. I know that many bitcoin-minded people will soon reach $ 1 million or $ 10 million in the future, so they just want to get 0.1 bitcoin. This is ridiculous, but I have yet to find any data showing that the value of bitcoin could rise to $ 1 million. all are just McAfee fomo news and financial "experts", it's nothing reliable.

Well that still doesn't answer the question as to how many should be enough. That's probably because you really can't have a definitive answer as the question is subjective. Some of us would just settle for .1 btc whether it goes up to 1million or not simply because we have other means to make money. Those that largely rely on btc would obviously say they'll need more.

I do not have a regular source of Bitcoin, so I am just taking whatever I can and hopefully I would have a good amount of coins I am holding in the coming months. Frankly speaking, it is not easy accumulating Bitcoin except of course just buying them from a good source using the fiat money. I actually just bought Bitcoin once and that was in 2016 the first year I got into cryptocurrency. Now, it would have been different if we can have a regular sources of Bitcoin, let's say a site like the Fiverr that has really good amount of buyers and sellers and not just another anemic platform with no critical amount of users. The problem I think is that more and more Bitcoin owners are into holding and not spending, and that is bad for business because as currency it should have been circulating everywhere.

It is always moving because the value of Bitcoin is also constantly changing. If you remember the days when you are setting your goal and the value of Bitcoin is still at around $5,000, then you could have thought that 20 BTC is enough. But when the value of Bitcoin is soaring high at $14,000 then your earlier figure will also be changing. That is what is going on here. If Bitcoin will reach $100,000 then perhaps your goal will also change, even reduced at a single BTC already.

Have 20 BTC is more enough for investing and trading with bitcoin or latcoin, for safety maybe investing with bitcoin is profitable because keep stable price with bitcoin and we always get profit every day because bitcoin price keep growing up, for altcoin can get much profit but have ready with big risk and we can't prediction how altcoin price suddenly become with lower price and we do not have good thing for investing with altcoin.

Really it depends on your demand, I know the demand has come from your requirement, so it totally depends on how you see your life in this platform, It's a relative issue, Sometimes one Bitcoin is enough for maintaining the life but when you say about the luxury then you need more, the more you have the more you want, this is the reality of the human nature, so you can't get satisfied within an amount, but I think Two or Three Bitcoin is more than enough for availing a standard of living in this days, but you are too greedy for money then the figure would be changed.

I want to get as much bitcoin as I can, but I think we want to earn more and more bitcoin in many ways. Perhaps, some people can say that 10 bitcoin will be enough but trust me, the human will never satisfy, and they still want to earn more and more and if they still have a chance, they will trying to do that thing.

I guess that while the market is not increasing too high, we can try to save more bitcoin from trading because that will give us a chance to make a profit in bitcoin, especially if we can choose the altcoin as the way to make a profit.

But do you think that too much money is bad for you. It is okay to apply smart manage to your account but increasing your money without proper manage can destroy yourself. Average  and few money is okay, and easy to handle.

Don't limit your success by getting more bitcoin, don't set a limit, think that nothing will be enough! After hitting that amount of bitcoin, I am sure that, the holder will want some more, just like you said, Human nature will always want what's the best. I think that's all good as long as you are not doing anything wrong.

yes i also like you op. I don't have a target of how much bitcoin I should have. but I will always try to keep increasing my bitcoin amount. if we set a target bitcoin that we must have it will make me stressed and depressed and not enjoying my life. it's better like this to keep collecting bitcoin and selling it when bitcoin goes up. and I didn't hold bitcoin too long. I will sell my bitcoin when the value has increased 30% of my purchase price.

I do not have specific target on how much bitcoin that I should store in my wallet. My focus and my goal is to increase the bitcoin that I have and it is why I keep trading it. Becoming a short term trader is not easy because I allocate most of time in studying and also monitoring the prices of the coins that I keep trading for me to stay updated everytime.

People think I am mad, but I think bitcoin will get to $1million for 1 Bitcoin in 10 years.
I think having a million USD would set me up for life, so maybe that is enough, but it depends on your situation and where you live, and the cost of living.
I live in South Africa, so $1mil goes a long way here. I can only dream it will reach that high, and in the meantime, I will keep 'stacking sats' lol

Opinions matter when it comes to how much is enough with bitcoins, others

It will take sometime since the behavior of bitcoin is not that bullish 30% may take a while, though you have your target and once it was achieved then you can let go and aim for another. There's no exact answer with OP's question it's all about how investors understand and willingly to buy portions of this assets and store it according to whatever plans they have from this investment.

That's true, real investors are not aiming to have more bitcoins and hodl it. real ones are wanted to gain and have more profit and do what they wanted it to be useful, they know that they aiming for btc is a big loss because they know that the price are not stable and that's what I think also that aiming to have more btc this day may out of control to your funds and cause a big trouble and you will end up losing money.

Real investors do not just risk their Bitcoin if they are not sure of what they are doing. Real investors always eye on the prize. They will buy and sell with a profit. They will HODL if necessary. That is the best thing to do. Others would say they do not just HODL because they cannot grow their Bitcoin in that way. Well, trade your Bitcoin if you think you are good in it. If you think you are not, trading will only make your Bitcoin grow smaller rather than bigger. The goal is to have more Bitcoin as possible, no fix numbers.

In 10 years everything is possible, so it is possible that 1 BTC will be worth so much. While I personally don't think the odds are too great for this to happen, all we need is a price increase of some 100+ times. It looks like a lot, but that's how things looked for people 10 years ago, just a few believe that Bitcoin would ever be worth at least $1000.

I agree that $1 million is big money today for most people, and many would settle for 10 times less. But the possibility should also be taken into consideration that the price will not constantly rise. I think no one should invest everything they have in Bitcoin, it is a big risk with a possible big profit in the long run. It is good if you can wait for 10 years, most people just want a quick profit.

we could not mention certain time for bitcoin price. its still unpredictable when bitcoin will hit new all time high, meanwhile market sentiment and psychology still in bad condition. we still need long time and spread good news to all people so they will have positive mind about bitcoin future and crypto market. maybe after halving we will see this.

It really depends on each person. We all have different type of level of success and satisfaction in terms of having bitcoin. You should ask yourself if what type of success do you wanted to see. Once you visualize the success that you want then that is when you are going to measure it with the number of bitcoin and you will work your way up until you reach that goal.

I just regreted when I don't realize that bitcoin will have a high value and I just muff some bitcoins that I got before. And now I'm still doing that, selling bitcoin to money fiat just for to fulfil some needs in my daily life. But hupefully I can get another source income in my reality so as I can collect bitcoin as much as I can. Regarding the target, honestly I'm greedy person to it, I'll feel deficiency to something that I want. But seems like the first goal I should get just 1BTC in one year a head.

The amount of bitcoin surprisingly increased a lot through the years. Way back, we are aiming for atleast 10 bitcoin to gain lots of money but now, just 0.1 bitcoin would be a big one and everyone would die to get it. In my case, I am still aiming to get 10 bitcoins in the future so that I can secure it more. It may seem impossible but I believe that through hardwork and perseverance, someday I would make my dream come true. I will keep on investing on bitcoin and believe on its capability until the end of time.

Don't just set limits on earning Bitcoin. Do the best you can, work hard to earn more. I know we're expecting in to reach all-time high price but while we're waiting for that, let's earn more Bitcoin. Since we're still not sure how Bitcoin price will do, don't just be contented with a certain amount of Bitcoin. As long as your capable of earning more.

Earning bitcoin is not east as what think by many in which it needs an investment and a lot of time in order to earn. Bitcoin is a dominant crypto currency that no one coin could easy defeat its top. My suggestion in order to earn as much as you can just invest some of it as your capital, nobody knows someday you can earn much more.

do and collect as much as you can, because if you target too high which is only an imagination it will be difficult to obtain. having 1 bitcoin is clearly "enough" than not having it at all. those who talk about having a lot of bitcoin might have had lots of bitcoin from the start so it's easy to say that, for those who start from the bottom only want or can get 1 or 0.1 bitcoin alone is more than enough, if you are smart enough with that much capital later in the future ahead, can still be used for other planning for example for trading or investment.

I would say 21 is a big number, i mean only 1 million users could have that amount, and now days we see more people than that involved in cryptos. Maybe 1 bitcoin is a good amount to hold in the long term, no one know what the value will be in 50 or 100 years, but for sure will be a crazy amount of money.

In a thread discussion came to know about the people owning at least a small portion of bitcoin in USA. From a survey it is found that 9% of the population own bitcoin which is around 33millions. This way when we calculate the people owning bitcoin it'll go big in number. According to this 21 is a big number as stated, but one who holds such a big number can feel himself to be a multimillionaire after years.

There is no definitive answer as people may have different goals about how much bitcoin to have in 2019 or we should change the target to collect in 2020.
Basically, BTC1 is my main goal, although it's not so easy to collect it, I've ever had it and many people did as well. However, due to many reasons, bitcoin and other forms of payments/money have to circulate, so we spend it and became less than BTC1.
For a beginner in the crypto sphere, aim for BTC0.1 is a good target, then BTC0.5 and finally BTC1, even if it takes 1 or 2 years for you to accumulate it, just set the goal and stick with it, you'll be there.

21 million is a big amount if indeed, the popularity of bitcoin does not increase. But in reality the popularity of bitcoin continues to increase over time until they race to collect and get bitcoin because of limited supply. That way, then 21 is a small amount if everyone in the world realizes how valuable it is to have 1BTC, those who have good knowledge and skills to produce bitcoin at least 1BTC are something that is easy to achieve, so it's no surprise when someone becomes a millionaire in this circle.

I have the same opinion when I was just starting here in this forum, 1 bitcoin is enough, then when I started earning through signature campaign and see how amazing it is to earn bitcoin no matter how much it is, then I changed my mind, I want to earn as much as possible, why limit yourself in something that could make your future bright and secure than fiat, 1 bitcoin is not enough since we are spending money everyday to sustain ourselves in order to live.

I know that it is depressing seeing how market prices are going down even more after 2017, but we just have to believe in what we started, soon enough, it will be all worth it.

Personally I do have a limit, I am one of those people who think too much wealth is too much and nobody should have that much money, for example there should not be any billionaires in the world, 500 million dollars is enough for everyone in the world as a maximum so if we just give people who have over 500 million dollars, cash liquid 500 million dollars (and not assets like stocks and real estate valuation etc etc) and spend all the rest on helping out the poor, we wouldn't have any poor people in the whole world.

I personally feel like 4 million dollars is more than enough for me, I say 4 million dollars because I want to put some leeway in there, otherwise 1 million dollars is more than enough for me but the extra is "just in case" money, after 4th million, I don't need any money at all. I think everyone in the world who doesn't have 4 million dollars would agree with me.

I only do earning from bounty, and then sell if really needed and save the rest. Always like that, if price increased after i sell, yes regret might be come but nothing that i can do. And then if bull run come, i wait for good price to sell and at least i think if i get from bounty rewards, i am not lose my own money at all. So, i think it will be ok for me.

That is pretty much what I am saying in my post. The post above me is saying that real investors do not aim to increase their Bitcoin only to HODL it. Nope, I don't agree. Investors know when to trade and when to HODL. Investors HODL while trying to invest more if they do not know how to trade them. Some others trade them while trying to increase their holdings because they know how to make profit out of trading. If you do not know how to trade, then you would prefer to keep your Bitcoin safe and HODL them instead.

we know that human desire is unlimited when he already has 1 btc he will try to get bitcoin again. so in my opinion there is no limit on how much bitcoin we should have. everyone will always try to increase the amount of bitcoin. There are no official rules that require us to collect a certain amount of bitcoin. But it has a bitcoin target we must have it will make
us motivated to work harder in collecting bitcoin. And that is the thing positive in my opinion. Imagine if we don't have a target in
collecting bitcoin or making profit then we will relax in undergoing it. So try to conclude which one will achieve the success of people
who have the target or people do what they are. If I'm the type of hardworking person who really wants to succeed in everything, so
I'm used to having it targets in undergoing anything. Including having a target every year must have a minimum profit of 1 BTC.

why only 0.5? I think we should aim to collect bitcoin as much as possible before the price of bitcoin will be very expensive. if you can't get it for free, maybe if you have money or savings it's better to buy it when the price is low. I also do that if it's true that the price of bitcoin drops lower.

Bitcoin's been giving us a good profit for a long time now and I don't think 0.5 will be enough. As they say, no riches will ever satisfy a greedy person. I am not saying that we are all greedy here, I am saying that as an investor, our instinct doesn't stick with a lower profit, we aim or goal for a bigger or larger profit, maybe 6-7 Bitcoins, maybe 100 if I am good enough.

The terms may be used interchangeably but there is a slight difference. All of us should focus on buying bitcoin during the sideways market for the upcoming bullrun. Based on my opinion, 100 bitcoins is enough. You can do a lot of things with 100 bitcoins, you can build a passive source of income through cryptocurrency and other business ventures with that 100. That is a misconception. Bitcoin will not be reduced by half next year because only the mining reward will be in half. Setting goals should be realistic, achievable and can be measured by time so you can easily calculate if you are making progress towards your goal and if you are earning enough to reach your goal in a specific period of time.

I don't think there is any absolute amount on this. Everyone has their own metric of being rich. For a person who has never seen $1000 together will feel too rich after having $10000 in his bank account but a person who is born in a family whose annual income is $100,000 might feel that achieving $1M is being rich. This is a very relative question. For me personally I think 20-25 BTC are enough for anyone. But I am pretty much sure that once I achieve this target I would be hungry for earning more and more BTC so there is nothing like Enough Bitcoins.

Opposing your view, I think this low price is a great opportunity for investing even more. You should buy when the price is "cheap", buy regularly during a bear trend, you'll get a nice dollar-averaged cost. Then enjoy the profit when the price is going up. That's what I would do right now.

Actually, I don't have any goal how much Bitcoin I would like to acquire but for the sake of the question, I would like to attain worth of 1 Bitcoin. Ever since I started to enter this industry way back 2016 I guess, I never earned 1 Bitcoin, maybe I already have if Bitcoin's value is like way back it before however, it keeps rising and that is why I never had it. I doubt the new generation feels the same about the "unlimited money". These calculation you were talking about were from well before the second rally in bitcoin most probably during 2015 and it all depends upon how much the value of bitcoin will rise, people still think that the price of bitcoin will cross a million dollars and hence the valuation of 21 bitcoin to settle your life was predicted and if you think that 6.25 bitcoin is required then you must consider that the expected valuation will be much much higher which is a joke at this point of time  ;D.

One Bitcoin is a reasonable goal. Even that is very expensive right now but it’s probably worth it considering that we are still in the relatively early days of Bitcoin so there is still a lot of upside in price.

Everyone of us lives in a different country and the amount I can afford to buy is not what you can afford to buy. You may be living in a country where they pay 10k of your currency which might worth around 100k where I live, whereas I'm being paid 10k. That means you're richer than me, so I cannot afford to buy the amount of bitcoins you can buy.

In my early days, I used to think that Bitcoin will reach more than 50k$ and I was sure that it will reach there soon so 1 Bitcoin was enough to have. I worked and got my payments in Bitcoin and started accumulating but over the time I had to sell my BTC for my spending. Still I feel 1 Bitcoin should be held and rest can be used for spending.

If you're buying Bitcoin just take it that it is a money you're not going to get back and if you're lucky and the price should increase, then that's dope. It all depends on your goal, but the problem is that goals changes; you achieve your first goal and then another goal comes up.

I don't know if bitcoin will still be a big thing when I retire or when I am old in 40 years but I know in usd pegged terms around 80 bitcoins is enough for me to never work again, that is calculated with inflation and if things don't go bad in my country then I will have some extra as well which I can give away to charity when I die.

I don't think you have to put a limit to yourself of bitcoin, I mean as much as bitcoin you'll own it will be so good in the future, because you'll make really a huge profit from it, so it's better to not set any limits to yourself and just work hard and earn as much as you can of bitcoin

There is no need for limitations I agree with that, you can try to buy or earn as many as you can. I know how much I would like to have, and when I come to that point I will focus more on some altcoins I wish to have. Now I choose Bitcoin when ver I can, I pay attention on other good projects, but Bitcoin is my main focus.

Your aspirations needs to be closer to reality, the only way for you to obtain 100 bitcoins when you have so little is for the price of bitcoin to crash to one dollar and I have my doubts that you are going to want to buy bitcoin at that point in time, be realistic about what you can achieve and about the price of bitcoin that you want to see during the next decades, creating realistic goals is the only way that we have to eventually reach our objectives.

I do not really have that much bitcoin either but unlike you which wants 3750 times more bitcoin than what you have today I only need about three or four times what I'm holding if the price of bitcoin skyrockets during the next decade.

At current price 80 btc is like 560 000$ if you live in a "cheap country" I can agree it is enough but in countries like France it is impossible.
For example in Paris a regular house (22 square meter) is around 900$/month so 51 years maximum just for the bill ... if you had the rest ...

food for a student is around 300$/month
public transports : 35$/month
electricity + gas etc let's say : 170$/month ..

So in a month you spend like : 1405$...

so 33 years with 80 bitcoin MAXIMUM without working and having fun ...  :-[

I think that it is wise to pay attention to other projects though, you know, as a way of making more bitcoin. We can invest in some good projects and after a few months, they will go up high and that is when we are going to exit the train that they have and enjoy our profits. We can focus in bitcoin while also side hustlin' on other altcoins for quick profits.

Free to move or go up and down? that means you are talking about usage and exchange rates or whatever, while the topic is about the supply of available bitcoin. When we discuss thoroughly about enough bitcoin or other currencies, the answer is that there is not enough so long as any currency has a worth and valuable value to have because most individuals will only continue to collect as much money as possible and they will never feel enough for the umpteenth time.

There is still no way to know how high it can go, or if it'll still even be around within the next decade so just save what you can but not too much that you neglect saving for other investments. And don't be too hard on yourself not achieving that bitcoin goal.

If you were oblivious to btc in its early days like me, then it's understandable if you can't reach it. It only hit 1k around 2013 so it's adopters prior to that that were likely able to get BTC21+.

Accumulate bitcoin as much as we can but make sure that the money that we are going to use is the money that we can afford to lose. I think you should never think how much is enough. If you have any opportunity to earn BTC you can earn but implementation is a big thing here. Suppose now you earn 100 BTC but after one month BTC down to 5k and for sudden matter you sell it  and after your selling BTC hit 10k. Then where will go your earnings?

It is not a good price for bitcoin because as much power does bitcoin have so it will never get down to the value if only 700$ infect I think the price Will become so high so we should store huge amounts of bitcoin as much as we can. I get my salary now in BTC so my plan is to just save what I can, spend some in some low cap coins to be able to get More btc, but I don't think putting a specific number on what we should have will really help because people have different needs and cost of living in different places. In one place maybe 2k USD  a month is what you need to live on but in another you could live on 200 bucks a month. It's all relative to demographics I think so everyone will have different targets. Also different age groups want different things out of life and will then plan accordingly. I was hoping to try to get one Bitcoin at least saved this year but it will take time and a lot of effort and commitment and also I would need to get some extra work as well to try to save more. I think one Bitcoin a year for the next five years would be a nice nest egg, but Ideally if you could save a lot more, would be even better.

A logical answer to that question would be - Money is never enough for anyone. Even the richest man on earth still finds a way of making more wealth. Whatever the price of Bitcoin (whether now or in the nearest future when several halvings would've caused price to jump), no one should relent in accumulating more Bitcoin if they know how to.

But to set a goal, it is quite possible. There are people who knows and are contented to reach their achievement. It is not necessary to always save much money and invest too much, we all know people have needs to, and setting up a goal for them to achieve is one way of making their goal possible. You are right but it is more comfortable to have a lot of money to spend rather than living on a tight budget. I would suggest once you achieve your goal of bitcoin then you should diversify, cash out some of your money there and put it into other investments that can give you a good amount of revenue to slowly increase your cash flow which will make your life more comfortable.

Plenty of countries in Asia with low cost of living where Bitcoins are legal. I think those from Western Europe can also just move to Central or Eastern Europe if they don't like to go too far away or want to feel still safe. Both should allow you to stretch whatever BTC you saved.

Indeed, when it comes to money usually people has no contentment. If you dont do something to accumulate and just stop, there's a chance you will slowly lose it for spending and for other needs.

If you have a source of income then that would be a great start for you in acquiring bitcoins. Your next step probably is to develop skills in either investing or trading. Unless you already have hundreds of bitcoins that seems like a an impossible dream, how many bitcoins you will be able to get during the next 3 or 5 years will depend on whether or not you know how to trade or invest, if you know how then you could obtain anything between 3x to 10x the amount of bitcoin you are holding now, but for that we will need a bull market and that you sell at the top before the crash, but if cannot do that then you should be happy by just doubling your coins and that is if you are lucky.

I think we can do both investment and daily trading. in daily trading the greater the risk because it requires skill and strong psychological. different from investment, where we don't have to look at the market all the time. therefore learning daily trading can also be preceded by learning and of course with a smaller portion of capital than investment

the more ways that are done the better it is for our investment. because no one will never know which way will make a lot of money.
at the moment we are seeing increasingly difficult to get bitcoin. I used to believe in investing in the Altcoin project so that within 1-2 months I could produce at least 1 BTC. but for now you know, that there are so many projects that are hard to believe and end up scam. so the best way now is to trade, between short or long term. but of course, short-term trading really requires a good focus and knowledge.

If you can afford 1 bitcoin then I think it's enough for you to save them. There are only 21 Bitcoins in this world and 18,152,537 of them have been mined and in the circulation right now. Imagine if 18 Million of the population own one bitcoin each and you collected one of them. Bitcoin is a deflationary meaning that its value will increase in the future, I personally buy bitcoin as much as I can, hopefully, can afford a whole not in a fraction.

I can bet you that if we ever go to 50 thousand dollar bitcoin you're going to be in the elite if you even have 0.1 because kids and students won't even be able to afford it. You have 0.1 you're still big if you think that the minimum wage in some countries is $100 a month. Owning 1000 dollars in Bitcoin is already a big deal for half of the world.

It is big deal because it is already a huge amount. Everyone inside the crypto world could feel envious if anyone they know is holding a thousad of dollars here in crypto because it is very difficult to earn that amount most especially as what you hav said, to the students and kids. Having a set goal of how much Bitcoin to own isn't really realistic, except it pushes you further to own more. If you want to only have 1 Bitcoin, I doubt you'd be able to stick to just that one. But imho, st least have 1 Bitcoin, so if the price someday hits any of the outrageous speculations, you'd be in good company. I don’t have the time for what people has to say, I know that this bitcoin investment is a risky thing so I just buy what I can afford. People don’t rule my life 8). When I was a newbie I just invested a bit and when I gained some profit, I used it in my business and the profit that came out doubled and I was increase my next Investment in Bitcoin. That’s how it kept going till I was able to buy up to 1 Bitcoin, and next 2 and just like that, and I strongly believe that as time goes on I will reach a level where I can be able to buy lots of bitcoin and not get worried about price falling. I always check my pocket before investing because Bitcoin is not the only place my money goes to, I have a business, family and more other things.

you said the price of bitcoin can rose to 50k usd ?  i believe on it and that is possible , thats why i dont need too much bitcoin because having too much of bitcoin is verry hard for me to achieved.

 for i  can only accumulate 2 or more bitcoins per 2 years based on my calculations when i look at my transactions on the past two years ago via blockchain explorer.

It will never be enough to have bitcoin because everyone is racing to collect bitcoin in any way, because they know that in the future bitcoin will be far more profitable.
and I personally always try to buy bitoin in small amounts incrementally from the rest of my salary that I have budgeted after meeting my needs, and I will continue to do so as long as I can afford unlimited bitcoin and for the future of my family later.

Well if you want to invest your money and you want to trade daily then both are not good to do together that’s why Better choose one. I think it is good to trade long term and invest long term because it’s safe and you will not get disturbed with market changes. So if you have money buy bitcoin and collect mostly in a bearish market.

Well, that is not entirely the same. Here you can buy a static percentage of a full blown asset/currency while saving an amount of money is arbitrary and moving up all the time. Remember when someone with a million dollar was actually really rich just 20 years ago. Now that is basically just the needed regular amount for a middle class life.

yes its true that earning bitcoin is same as earning from any kind of job, and we all know that a job is not for only short period f time, it is until for the retirement. i also do not have a specific target for bitcoin, i will earn it as much as i can do because it is my full time job and i could not quit it.

It's more about how much money you have.

People should stop looking at Bitcoin as a get rich scheme but rather as a safe harbor for your money. If you have 100k on the side, put at least half of it in Bitcoin. If you have 10 million, do the same. If you're poor, even 1k will have an impact on your future.

 It depends on what you want to do with the money. I personally would be sufficient with just couple of bitcoins because that would allow me to get out of debt decently and still have a bit of money aside and just continue living a decent life. Sure I wouldn't be rich, sure I would still work pay check to pay check, but at least I would be out of debt and have a bit at the side in emergency situations so that would help me not to be worried about money all the time.

 However where I live there are tons of poor people, and I know them very well myself, If I had hundreds of bitcoins, I would be capable of building an organization that helps out those people, now I know we need billions of dollars, maybe even over a trillion to help all poor people but if I was given the chance and the money and the time (time equals money for people like me who has to work to make money so I would need money to work on the poor as well), I would love to help the poor people around me first, if every rich person helped the poor people around them, there wouldn't be any poor people left in the world. So that would require a lot more money.

You can invest as much as you want as long as you still have money for investment and also you still have your trust to a particular campaign or forum. I must suggest that you should start in a small amount first when you dont have any proof of earnings in order for you to avoid regrets when the campaign didnt become successful.

I do want to store like 1 Bitcoin but unfortunately it goes like earning and spending so it actually doesn't do much , since due to the university rules we aren't allowed to work so that prevents me from doing any part time job or so , therefore I think when I would be old enough to earn money it would be great and would like to save at least 1 Bitcoin .

In our society, we need to be wise in our decisions. We should think very carefully before we take our actions. We should keep our money instead of losing it and use it in such a very unimportant matters and things. No sane normal person is able to get over 20 Bitcoin anymore. To reach 80 Bitcoin in a healthy wide-spreaded portfolio is impossible if you give crypto a maximum of 5%. However it is always a good idea to invest a small part of your wealth into a rising asset class like Bitcoin.

Sell during the hype, buy during the panic - with a correct approach even without a lot of trading skills you can accumulate a lot of BTC. See the scenario:

Imagine you had eg. 10 BTC from 2011 and sold them close to the peak of 2017 (let's say $16000/each). After taxation (25%) you have $120000.
In late 2018 when all the people are speaking about the death of Bitcoin, you buy BTC with that remaining amount - for price $4000 (close to the bottom). You get 30 BTC.
You sold it in 2019 when the new hype started - you missed the peak, but still managed to sell it at $12000. You have $360000.
You then bought at $8000 late during the year what makes you an owner of 45 BTC...

Even just one Bitcoin if you hold it long enough should give you a big profit since this is still the early stages of Bitcoin development.  The key though is holding it for a few years to at least double your money.

I think that having 1 bitcoin is enough. You have to be patient in holding bitcoin because the price can go up anytime in the future. However, having more bitcoin is never a bad idea. Therefore, if you have a chance to buy more bitcoin, just spend your money on them. But never ever spend all of your money on bitcoin. It can be dump and you might lose most of your money.

Well, if the price of bitcoin stopped growing for long enough we could get some kind of agreement about how many coins do you need but it doesn't seem like that will happen so we have no other option but to keep speculating about it, also it really depends on what people really mean by having enough bitcoin, if we are talking about having enough bitcoin to live the rest of your life and assuming that at some point in the future bitcoin reaches a very high price I will probably only need 10 bitcoins.

I think that a person needs a monthly amount of bitcoins, the equivalent of which is equal to the amount of fiat money, which would be enough for a person to live comfortably and achieve his own goals. Somebody will have enough 0.1 bitcoin at the current exchange rate, and somebody and 1 bitcoin will not be enough. It all depends on the needs of the person. And it is good when needs coincide with opportunities, then you can be a really successful person.

This is just being safe, there is no guarantee however if you really are going to make profits by holding, because you will never know when you will be going to need the money you invest in bitcoin, what if you missed the ATH and suddenly there is an emergency happened in your household, of course you will be force to withdraw some amount of money to the bitcoin you are holding and that is automatically loss of profits.

I preferred looking different angles while holding, like for example is Trading, you could maximize your profits while waiting for the big bang in the market.

If I would ask how many Bitcoin is enough for me, my answer is 1; with one Bitcoin I could earn and save a lot of money. I'll turn it into a real money but, I would still invest here in cryptoworld adding investments in the physical market like in Gold so I could keep my money secure. I would build business from it so I could still afford to buy my necessities and achieve a better life.

The estimates provided might imply bitcoin becoming a bonafide cryptocurrency which can be used as a replacement for fiat. If that so happens, we would need all the bitcoin we can have. Because as bitcoin becomes more and more adopted and as it reaches it's main goal to become a coin, not an asset, it's price is also expected to decrease, if that so happens then people would need to get as much coins as they can in order to ride the wave.

There is no fixed amount. You have to consider according to your ability. I have a target to buy a certain amount of Bitcoin every month that I will hold for the future. (Let the amount be with me) 21 Bitcoin will not be easy for any small investor to buy. It seems to me that as much as he can afford to buy, he will buy that amount. Yeah holding any amount of bitcoin will benefit us no matter how much less amount will we hold one day it will bring a high profit to us but still we have to think that the more we will hold the more we will get the profit as if we hold one bitcoin now and after a year the price reach to $100000 then we will get a $92000 profit and if we will hold two bitcoins then in that one year we will get a double profit.

Every country has a different value of bitcoin, it will depend on their local currency compared to US dollars which bitcoin base on US dollars pair. A country like Venezuela bitcoin is very expensive. If you have 1 BTC there and sell it into that country probably you will have a million worth of their currency. 1 bitcoin for me is not enough to have a retirement from my job.

Psychologically when the value of an investment goes down people want to flee or hold off on any new investment. But buying low allows each of you to buy more for the same fiat investment.

The amount of bitcoin you should own should come down to it's relationship with your entire portfolio.  As much as I love bitcoin ans support it, it's still a risky "investment".  You should have a sound portfolio that is preparing you for long term, mid term and short term..with traditional assets/investments. Once that is set, then investing in riskier investments becomes prudent.  How much you should buy depends on total net worth and level of risk tolerance.

1 Bitcoin should be enough because if the standard takes off fully, we're talking 21 million available in a world of 6 billion people.   So to that to me it means there cannot possibly be enough BTC to be handing out multiple coins to each person or saying it'll be a requirement.    I think the circulation of coins is quite essential for the success of BTC being established as a standard anyway so I really dont believe in collecting but never using BTC. Although bitcoin is the coin that everyone wants to own and hold it, I do not. I am interested in the amount of USDT I can earn from my trades. USDT is really great because the market is volatile, its price is not affected too much. With USDT, you can be safe and buy BTC or alts with lower prices when the market has bad news.

I don't think you can say there is enough bitcoins. It just depends how much money you own in fiat currency. If you have  only 15,000 USD at your bank account then buying 1 bitcoin is enough. I would not recommend going into debt just to buy more bitcoins. But if you have a big stick portfolio of 500k-1 million USD, then it's better to start diversifiy more Fiat money into cryptos. I am targeting to have 40-50% of my money in bitcoins and other cryptos.

Even a single Satoshi is much more valuable than the past days of bitcoin. In one way bitcoin is for the rich, and the rich can get more rich through it. The very beginning days were the opportunity for the low level people to benefit out of it. Right now altcoins were the better choice for the low level investors who can afford limited funds. People are always so greedy, me too, I don't know how much BTC is enough for myself. However, the specific goal will be simpler, I will retire when holding 21BTC, I will strive to limit my spending and increase buying each year.

That's too big, you are already living a luxurious life with that amount the moment you retire. $1 million per bitcoin is not impossible, if that would happen you'll be able to retire with $21 million, enough already to live a good life as long as you know how to manage your financials.

For me you don't need to set your goal point in bitcoin as long as there some ways to earn then you should keep on earning because in the future bitcoin can be useful not only in some financial problem but to solve everything in your life not all can afford bitcoin but if they work hard to get what they want there's no impossible to do so and keep that in mind and always try harder it is okay to fail than not trying to earn.

Since bitcoin had an everchanging factors we can't say for sure what it the standard ceiling for one person to target unless you set yourself set of target.

Yeah same for me, there is no real fixed cap on bitcoins where I would stop trying to earn some. Especially now with bitcoins at 23,000 USD I would keep trying to get some more. There is no real reason why we should stop with bitcoins in my opinion. The long term trend is upwards.

I think it is about the amount of bitcoins in supply and not about how many bitcoins are enough to have, because if the question is about enough bitcoins to have then of course it will depend on the individual. Regardless, if the supply of bitcoins had an unlimited supply it might not be as high as it is now, but with this limited supply the price will continue to increase because it will become increasingly scarce. If it's like this it feels like 21 million might not be enough but yes, this won't happen if the supply is always available.

for me there is no specific target to be achieved in collecting bitcoins. all i do is just work and keep working to get bitcoin from bounty and airdrop. 0.1 bitcoin may seem impossible to someone like me, but no one knows the future fate of a project. the coins you get from airdrops or bounties can be very expensive in the future, even you can have 1 bitcoin from it.

If the prices are consistently going up, I think that 10 BTC is enough but if we are talking about the safest but at the same time an enjoyable life, I think around 100 or 150 BTC is enough because you can cover the money that you have to use for traveling and other stuff plus it will probably be enough to start a family without the worry of where to look for money for daily expenses.

It depends on how much bitcoin we can accumulate. If you believe in bitcoin then I think you will do everything to accumulate more, therefore there is no enough bitcoin for you. If you have just small capital, it's difficult for you to accumulate even one bitcoin. It is the satisfaction of having a balance life and if you're mindset is always inside the box, you will only think about your financial status and settle for it. I also don't have a specific target or limit with the number of bitcoins I have, besides that altcoins are investments that I think are also good and promising because we can get opportunities for large and short-term profits by investing in altcoins.

Right now, we don't know for sure if Chinese people use Bitcoin or not?  Is there a black (or gray) market for bitcoin trading in China? 

In any case, China is a country with a special mentality.  In China, the state completely dominates the citizens of China, everything is subject to the declared plans of the state. 

This is not the case in other countries.  In other countries, citizens either have more personal rights and freedoms or are able to circumvent laws and regulations. 

Yes, I agree that CBDC has many disadvantages compared to Bitcoin.  That is why (in my opinion) Bitcoin will not disappear and will be accepted as the world's reserve currency.  CBDC cannot be the world's reserve currency, as it is under the full control of the state. 

The financial system needs a standard of money, and this is Bitcoin.

If the current bitcoin price is around $41k and i want to retire and be able to survive for at least 20 years then i need around 100 btc, of course assuming inflation is not more than 10% per year and there is an increase in bitcoin price around 15% per year, of course not no one knows about the future but i use current calculations.

CBDC has never hinted at centralization, especially when we talk about central bank products. CBDCs want their niche in digital currencies and payments, but they cannot compete on an equal footing with real cryptocurrencies. Why do I need CBDC when I can pay for everything with bitcoin? The only way to get people to start using CBDC en masse is to ban bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, thereby establishing complete control and monopoly in the digital world.

What do you mean.It's not enough everyone.You can yarn more and more mony and get to rich.Invest a huge amount, it's all depend on your invest.Right now bitcoin price is around $41k.if you think its price a not huge amount for you then you buy double.The crypto system needs a standard of money,so you have a big amount you buy some bitcoin.But your need to more knowledge about bitcoin.i think very soon bitcoin probability get to a million dollars.
 

Investment decision would really be depending or varying on someones preference or goal or target because each person are totally different in terms of mindset. How much bitcoin would be enough?

As much as we could which is a normal for a human being to aim for since we know that more the better kind of aspect that we do follow in life.Speaking with investment targets then
it would vary, some would be thinking for long term and some would be thinking for short term engagement to see profits in a shorter time frame.

See 2010 1 bitcoin price and now 1 bitcoin . so you can understant how much worth if we have now 1 bitcoin . but if we have 1 bitcoin at the time of 2010 so we cant do huge think with that, but now we can do. so in future will be same 2022 1 btc 20k 2026 1 btc 200k it can happen. its not impossible for bitcoin. so if we buy 1 now it can make me rich fure also it can valuless but chance is 1% You can never have enough BTC.No bitcoin can be enough or reach to humans satisfaction,.With that I can say there is nothing you can say enough is enough.cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, it's obvious that everyone wants to keep on having bitcoin till infinity because no one knows what the price might get up to in future.Keep accumulating if you can.

From what I understand in cryptocurrency no amount of cryptocurrency or Bitcoin you have that is enough or certain for you. I believe that cryptocurrency having it in your jurisdiction it's what every person tends to have because of its value approach off inclement even though you have up to ten Bitcoin or twenty Bitcoin you will not value it but you will feel to have more of Bitcoin so therefore nobody want to have a little Bitcoin because it is an asset

How many bitcoin is enough you say? I think people would have different answers or opinions on how many bitcoin is enough. I think the question is also related to the question “how much money is enough”? People. Would have different opinions and answers to that also.
But with bitcoin and in my opinion, it’s safe and wise if i might add to accumulate as much as you can while you can. 1 Bitcoin remains 1 bitcoin in the next 20 years. I would also say to safely and not be greedy in our quest to accumulate and hold bitcoin.

There would be no enough coins on which people will really be filling that contentment because all of us would really get as much as we could because we are naturally greedy.

No enough numbers would make use out contented thats why the answer would really be that obvious because we do love to accumulate lots because we do want to get rich.Right?

We do already know its potential thats why the more coins we do have the more chances on making ourselves rich.We know it cant just be possible unless if you are a whale
where you can accumulate as much as you could or as long your funds or money permits you.
