I can't automate PMs yet, and Telegram is also above my paygrade. Post in this topic to subscribe! See my next post for the required format. This is likely to change later. Instead of my usual, which is starting at topic for testing in Archival, I'll start one here. Feel free to join the testing and make suggestions. Notifications are not case-sensitive ("loycev" works as well as "LoyceV"). Current plans: I can set up something similar to LoyceV's: Follow users on Bitcointalk.org (posts and/or topics) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5204188.0), but so far that doesn't have a lot of users. It's less easy to follow than PMs, but doesn't give PM-spam for active users and you could use a Browser plugin such as check4change for it to get notifications. ~ a blacklist :D Once I have it working, it'll be easy to expand with keywords (say: "Bitcoin") and a blacklist (we all know who I'm talking about) of users to ignore. I'll wipe notifications older than 7 days, so that gives you a few days to subscribe to my new bot to catch up on anything you missed the past days. My Notification-bot is now running every 5 minutes. It's highly experimental and far from finished, but should work :) Enjoy! I'm just having one problem (but others generally shouldn't have it) : since I have a weird and very short pseudo, my notification page (http://loyce.club/notifications/1120609.html) is full of posts not related to me, because they contain a crypto address or image address with "f2b" in it. TBH I don't really care but maybe you could add a fix to you To-Do list. Also, I found the post 53343027 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5168732.msg53343027#msg53343027) in my notification page, and I don't find any occurence of "f2b" in its code, that's weird. Edit: found out. I think it is because when parsing, the "/" in the image URL became "%2F" or something like that, so "/2b" becae "%2F2b" Edit 2: Even if I don't think that's a big problem for most users (who have normal names), it may cause your whole thing to be broken with pseudonyms with special characters. Great that I can see older notifications that Maggiordomo missed already. Finally, I can again easily find all the activities I am involved in. There are no notifications but there is no problem to check the website when needed. If you finish your work and add all these additional options it will be a very powerful tool for the Bitcointalk forum. Great work! The second one causes the page to become very cluttered, especially when I keep getting tagged in long posts like the DT1 trust updates, a bunch of top merit receivers and top merit senders updates, and stuff like that. I agree with DireWolfM14 that the third option is pointless - it's the worst of both options. You can't read the whole post on your site so you are going to have to click on it anyway, and it clutters up the page. Everyone copes fine with the merit page just being a link to posts, no reason yours couldn't be the same. The first one worked well but this one's much better. The order is much needed as it is an unnecessary hassle to scroll down a long list of old notifications just to get informed if a new one has arrived. And the codes oldestfirst and newestfirst are way much clearer than ascending and descending. :D Finally, this iamagirl option is novel, although a guy member doesn't have to indicate no to have him addressed as he since the default is patriarchal. ;D Nice addition! Regarding the first one, a link is probably enough since we would surely be visiting the topic once the notification triggers no matter what. Regarding the second and third one, it is more than enough to show a gist of the post just like what maggiordomo has been performing for all these days if the second idea is taken into consideration. Some people would post a longer reply for our particular post and that would again make the notification webpage difficult to read. You could probably consider eddie13 idea as well. A "clear" button could also be nice, to "clear" my notifications page of all the read content and wipe it clean.. As far as maggiordomo is concerned, it just spammed by inbox and I am still deleting all those which I have replied to. But since the pages are published publicly, instead of a clear button auto-deletion of the whole webpage after 90 days - 120 days might be a better alternative so that we could trash all the notifications once we have read that or replied to.The idea could be something like, each webpage can have 25-30 notifications. Programatically, to get around this, you could probably check to confirm if the character after the specific username is a space or some form of punctuation. If it's another letter, I'm not sure if it's worth including this in the notification. Pro: You won't have situations come up like this Con: If a typo or missing space, it will not be included in the notifications. Just thought I would report. You can do some modifications (with target boards) for your need. Of course, you have to do it and bookmark it by yourself.
