i prefer for option 3 because it will be good just like Maggiordomo bot did that and right now the Notif that you made is quote all the post like below


on Peggy bot, the bot just notified us for every quote made not a multiple quotes there

Thanks Loycev, I subscribed and is already working. Great that I can see older notifications that Maggiordomo missed already.

Finally, I can again easily find all the activities I am involved in. There are no notifications but there is no problem to check the website when needed.

If you finish your work and add all these additional options it will be a very powerful tool for the Bitcointalk forum. Great work!

Probably the first one. I'm going to visit each thread anyway to see the context that the post has been made in. It also lets me see clearly which ones I've looked at because the post number changes after I've followed the hyperlink.

The second one causes the page to become very cluttered, especially when I keep getting tagged in long posts like the DT1 trust updates, a bunch of top merit receivers and top merit senders updates, and stuff like that. I agree with DireWolfM14 that the third option is pointless - it's the worst of both options. You can't read the whole post on your site so you are going to have to click on it anyway, and it clutters up the page. Everyone copes fine with the merit page just being a link to posts, no reason yours couldn't be the same.

Oldest posts first (like the forum). I've added it to my TODO, I think I'll make it an option.

Please do. Coz when the list will be too long then users will need to keep scrolling to find the latest mention/quotes which will be not much user friendly I guess. However if you can have a button or something to toggle ascending and descending then it will be the best one. I know some user will like the way it is now.

I am still awaiting for the other questions answer: Do you keep the IP log of the visitors.

I finished several items from my TODO:

TODO:
-add topic title
-only upload updates if there are changes.
-ascending or descending order
-just links to posts, or full quotes: make this optional!
-fix ignore list for users
-add ignore options for topics (useful for statistical threads that give weekly notifications)

You can now choose: full posts or just links.
You can also choose: ascending or descending order.

Please use this new format for ignoring either users or topics:

Looking great.  I must admit, I like this better than Maggiordomo's PM notifications.  Less clutter in my PM inbox is much appreciated.  I have the results being displayed as a list, newest message first, which I find to be very convenient and organized.  Thank you for including the thread title, that's adds to the convenience.

Just edited my original post. Applying the latest codes now.

The first one worked well but this one's much better. The order is much needed as it is an unnecessary hassle to scroll down a long list of old notifications just to get informed if a new one has arrived. And the codes oldestfirst and newestfirst are way much clearer than ascending and descending.

Finally, this iamagirl option is novel, although a guy member doesn't have to indicate no to have him addressed as he since the default is patriarchal. Nice addition!
