Since the start of 2019, the crypto market has been on the receiving end of an insane amount of financial volatility.Recently the media listed some cryptocurrencies that have maintained a good financial status throughout the year, but not named Bitcoin.

They are ETH, EOS, BNB, BFT, XTZ, XNX, BCH, ATOM, LTC, BAT.

Do you agree this list or any other additions? :)

Based on various factors there might be different classification on the best cryptocurrency for the year 2019. For me bitcoin is always the best and that mentioned in the list provided with a gradual growth without much large scale dip in the price. From my experience my portfolio is entirely different from these assets holding and 2019 is that good as I expected.

I also look forward to Bitcoin.

Since the creation of bitcoin and other altcoins the cryptocurrency markets have been very volatile, not just this year. I mean, take a look at 2017-2018 alone.

Really 2019 not much favor to crypto market because from 2019 from beginning itself all Altcoins really performed badly it shows those coins are still under 60%down and still struggling to get back but it all depends on bitcoin price. It is also downside around 30 - 40% this year but now it is  performing better from last few days.. So, my expectation is very big in coming years so what u have said those coins will be going to perform really good. It's best time to hold that or buy some more.

Price of all these coins are tightly coupled with bitcoin. Its now getting clear with each passing day that its very hard for altcoins to have there own upward run. Thats why people are restricting them to bitcoin only or may be few strong altcoins like Eth, LTC. I have also shifted major portion of my portfolio to bitcoin.

Supposedly as 2018 dump hard but it seems 2019 got even more dump. Altcoins are just following the trend of bitcoin while the worst part is that it even dump more. However, the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2017 is definitely a bull run for mostly of the top cryptos.

Hopefully, halving could bring us prosperous 2020.

I think even in 2019 Bitcoin is the best investment of all the above. There are high risks involved in other alts around for sure, one can argue some of them give good profits and are a stable enough to compete Bitcoins but that is always countered by its global usage in the world.

Ethereum is the best cryptocurrency that I played in this current year. When the Ethereum got crashed last february where its price is at around $100, I bought bag of them. These kind of crashed is the perfect opportunity to buy ethereum as much as we can. I manage to sell it at around June where its price became $330 per each. It gave me 200% plus profit in these kind of strategy. There are many momentum cryptocurrency in the year 2019 and many traders see that kind of opportunity.

Most of them too are a good investment option for 2020. Probably not LTC as it's rise was boosted by the halving. And bitcoin too is having a halving in 2nd quarter of 2020, so it could be the best performing in that time period. Etherum is going to try new things in 2020 and they are limiting the generation through POS, a limited generation might make it more usable than other limited supply coins.

Just an example how volatile even when the token had been supported by a lot of users here in the forum, its still going to be dumped since the early investors got it for less than $1 compare to the new investors coming into the market.  It did perform well in the first months but was dumped eventually since investors are now expecting its ETH2.0 I guess them dumping ETH is a chance for new investors to also join them staking by next year.

One coin that is very much interesting is the Chainlink (LINK) which has been also going up just like the Huobi Token(HT) competing BNB.

ETH and BAT. Other altcoins are unlikely to ever bring you profit.

Although ethereum become most experience altcoin I think have expired for investing with ETH, after dump under $200 eth never raise with higher price, no have stronger reason why have to buy ethereum because more than three months ago ethereum always dump and have lower price, better looking with new coin listing on bigger market to get profit with investing.

I was a little surprised because in your list there are BAT and BCH ... there are actually many better altcoins and are more active than these two altcoins. 2019 is a bad year for altcoins, most altcoins lose value but there are still many top altcoins still active and growing. For me, except for Bitcoin, ETH, XTZ, BNB, EOS ... are the best and most developed altcoins in 2019.

Which media? Why no URLs included? When there is no proper references are available within your post, why not we just assume it is your own list of cryptos and you want list them here as you have invested into those cryptos. People are creating false discussion on their favorite cryptos just to create fake hype.

Bitcoin started this year  at the price levels around $3k and then peaked up to $13.5k levels still your list is not including bitcoin. I'm not sure what are the criteria you have considered for your list but price levels must be one of the primary criteria that you must consider for finding list of best performing cryptos. Currently bitcoin is trading double the rate of its beginning price levels of this year. I mean to say even if you consider the recent downfall of bitcoin, it is still doing good according to its this year's start prices.

This is probably the list of altcoins, otherwise BTC must be on this list. ETH, LTC, EOS Perhaps not in this list, they only had good performance in the first half of the year, at the moment they all return to the price at the beginning of the year.

Quickly look up the definition of price volatility on Google. "Volatility" isn't exclusively for price drops, and it's definitely not synonymous to a bear market. A bull market/upward trend can have volatile prices too.

yeah but too many other altcoin besides that which gives a profit in 2019 you don't know anything in crypto market? well one of them you can see raven or tomo stock performance has quite good fluctuations as for the other you must to find and reanalyze for your own benefit ,going forward will not be too difficult because there will definitely be a good momentum in bitcoin which will grow the alt market

I think LINK and RVN should also be in that list. They had a pretty good year as well in terms of volatility. My take on this market is that the ones who know how to profit from these swings in prices can accumulate a lot of cheap altcoins for the next bull market cycle. I'm very excited about the years to come not just for Bitcoin which I think will reach unforeseen heights, but altcoins as well which might have even bigger potential than BTC just because they got beaten to the ground by the bears.

As I mentioned above it was my favorite coins list in 2019 and I have held them also because I know about those coins background very well it gives good returns in the future if the bull market active in the crypto market. and more good things will be excepting next year.

Well, maybe bitcoin can show it's performance when halving come. But i agree if ETH on the list, at least next year ETH will give it's good performance again because as second crypto, ETH always have a lot of support from it's user. And so do for bitcoin.

You really don't have to do anything special to capitalize on these price swings. I had the Robinhood app give me $5 in free stocks which I immediately sold for Bitcoin. I have been doing nothing but buying when it's low and selling when it's high and I have already made almost 5x off of it and that's not even really focusing on it too much. Just buy whenever the price is lower than it normally seems to be and sell whenever it bounces back up quite a bit.

This is absolutely wrong and it seems this list is made by a crypto kid who followed the CMC rank of these coins and creates a list of it, and maybe he has allergy with bitcoin, lol. In this list, there should be Bitcoin, LINK, MKR and some new coins like SERO, ONE, ALGO and so on.

I agree with this. they did not mention bitcoin because it is very likely that bitcoin will definitely benefit this year. it's just that, from the list mentioned, I only focus on bitcoin and ethereum. I plan to have a BNB, only the price of the pump first. Well, the coins mentioned above will most likely provide the same or greater potential for the coming year.

Wait, how is eth a best performer in any standard? it has fallen in btc the whole year. I don't see any of those that i follow on your list doing so well to be honest.

Almost trading all of them but just BNB gives me the best profits this year, those coins are good and the also have good volume in the market. The movement price of those coin is also quite agile so we could do scalping trade with medium risk because those are big coins.

other then Mother BTC ye um, id say RVN man. all you had to do was hodl, and middle of 2019 it hit 1kish sats.   it was easy as hell to mine or even buy under 1k for months
and if you even 1/2 figured it having Overstocks blessing would help it in any way, it was an easy sell to stack some and see what happened

I do only have these coins on my stash

ETH,LTC,EOS,XLM,TRON and of course BTC.

A half of it been actively traded and most of the time they are still on Hodl!

I will advise you to find a way to dump TRON and EOS once you make a profit through them because they full of  shady and centralized respectively.
I believe zcash, dash, monero, mmocoin, ETH perform very well this year and i also respect the fact they are long existing coin and they still thrive with the inclusion of BTC.

According to my analyses, I noticed litecoin, ethereum, zcash, dash, ripple and bitcoin cash are the main profitable coin in 2019. But, the gain are for those that predicted the market accurately and invested at the appropriate time. As so the gain if so the lose is.

That been said, also the coin truly maintained a good financial status. I completely agree with you.

From the list tezos and atom that has already gained so many interest from the investors. But I do agree with you. It's not clear about what is the condition that's needed to determine the performance of those coins but I believe that will be from the valuation of the coin. It's just a usual thing to call bitcoin as a winner.

Ethereum, EOS or even binance are doing the worst performance right now.
I just even only take atom and tezos from the list.

LTC and BNB price has increased this year a lot. But the increase in ETH was not more than 3x. Anyway, did not the BTC increase from $3000 to $14000 this year? While the 4.5x increase was greater than the increase in ETH, why did not they include it on the list? The change I would like to make would be to add BTC to the top of that list.

Those 4 well known coins moved and bring good benefits to those who understand the risk and willing to take it no matter what, LTC and BNB both gives decent profits away from bitcoin dominance this year while ETH also rise but not that much as expected since it was always tailing bitcoin each time there's a good momentum that's happened around bitcoin value.

From that list, I think ethereum EOS, BNB, ATOM, LTC, BAT, and BCH would be a good coin that can increase, but we don't know the truth. We don't have any info about what the coin that can increase first among the other coin. So we need to predict more to find out the coin. We can hope that we already have the potential coin so we can wait for the time to see what will happen later. I think in the next year, we will see some changes in the market, and I guess that coin which is underestimated can increase without we know.

I have to agree with those lists because me personally admitting the coins from OP lists such as ETH and BNB can provide to me more profit compare to bitcoin during this year especially BNB maybe because this coins made from binance which is many traders available at there and this coin too can be used for binance IEO then the popularity of this coin was increasing rapidly and following it the price also very good even when other altcoin mostly down but in this year BNB can reach all time high

Most of these cryptos haven't actually performed well in the grand scheme of things.

Where did you get your statistics from? Because from my anecdotal experience there is probably at least a handful of coins which have fared better than what EOS has gotten (because of the fact that their project did lose a lot of interest over the year).

I've personally longed ETH but obviously that didn't turn out too well. Long term wise I'm still bullish though.

I disagree, altcoins would not rise if bitcoin is not gonna show positive signs of being bullish.
Look, BNB triggered a rise when bitcoin pump and reach over $10,000.. I think $13K was the highest so this year, and they all owe that to BTC.

What happen after BTC dump, BNB dump as well, from $40 to $13 only now.

I only see BNB has a remarkable increase this year and it has reached its ATH.

first what media are you talking about?because if this is from China then surely bitcoin will never be broadcast or even part of the list .

but for me this is all about Bitcoin has been there already so they dont need to mention or add on the list,and besides it is already given since Bitcoin is the number 1 currency of all

They are all good listed projects and they are not substitute to bitcoin but complement. They look like a prepared project for inflow of cash into the space in few weeks. For projects with smaller price they have opportunity to make multiplication of price than bitcoin which could attract more investors. Tezos is likely going to improve liquidity with so much fund to spend on project's development. Binance is good token and we cant deny the use case but I believe at a point the space may face some legal actions that could drag for long

I think Bitcoin should be on the list. it is the good coin that should give more attention

Your presumption about BNB to dump when BTC dump as well was right because BNB is an exchange coin and the level of trade done on Binance determines the coin price in the market. Aside from that, we are currently in the market trend where BTC momentum determine where the rest of the crypto lip. But, I don't see BTC making the price range you mentioned this year.

Nice list, seems those coins are good for long term investment, but bitcoin should be in the list, because bitcoin was performing very well reaching almost at $13,000 price.

Just a friendly reminder. Don't just invest into something if you don't understand what you are investing, please do your own research first because it is proven already before to the other investors. They lose more because they don't know how or what are they investing that's why when the time the market started to become bearish most of them tend to sell at a very low price.

too many people feel cheated by crypto because they feel disadvantaged by the investment he made. as you said most do not research the assets purchased even most only follow friends or people who advise them to buy assets.

Thanks for reminding me, I only invest in trusted coins which in the top coinmarketcap like ethereum, binance coin, etc. and I agree with you just do a research first especially if you want to invest a newly coin.

I dont think is that hard to check. And it is hard to be the best out of 1000 of coins, but Bitcoin is definitely very high and it is higher then any of the coins you listed.

Sensible list I agree about the list to an extend because even I had invested into BNB at the beginning but started cashing out when it started dropping down post reaching $35 mark. Even Ethereum did made unexpected recovery after hitting the rock bottom again.

In my opinion, the whole cryptocurrency failed to show its best performance during 2019, which is still in the bearish market this year.
But at least bitcoin is still the best performance compared to altcoins which are still much worse. Speaking of performance most of the
altcoins in 2019 failed, but the altcoins mentioned in opening post i agreed to still make a small profit for those who play on these coins.
I myself for altcoins in 2019 play on coins like ETH, BNB, and LTC. From these coins at least make a small profit, although not as much
as I expected. Hopefully in 2020 it will be different, so that it can managed to make investors make big profits.

They should have included Bitcoin. In 2019 alone, Bitcoin has grown more than three times if we consider its all time low and all time high within the year. It did not recover the old price but it has grown and left the $3,000 - $4,000 limit. It has even hit $14,000.

The list is very limited. I am not aware of their basis for the list but there were several more unknown altcoins that had their pumps within the year.

The crypto market situation for this year 2019 that ends. It gave me no alternatives to invest in the best cryptos. I only hold Bitcoin, Ether and some cryptos such as AWC, HYDRO, FRM and NEXO because I am interested in following the development of these projects and enjoying their products. 2020 comes with a lot of energy in the hope that something good has to happen in the crypto market.
Hopefully, Bitcoin and Ether will recover their prices to enjoy some profit.

Bitcoin must be the most held coin in the investment list because this coin is the only coin that makes you feel safer in investing. I think the current market is heavily dependent on BTC so it needs to spend more than half of the assets to hold. In addition, I am also looking for new coins to invest in because it is an opportunity for us to earn higher profits.

Of course the risk will be much higher than normal investment but in this market you need to change to become more successful.

Almost everyone is at a loss in 2019, not too many successful this year. I also invested a lot in BTC and ETH, in addition I participated in some IEO to offset losses from Bitcoin and ETH. Hopefully in 2020 the market will be better and the price will increase compared to the present

i think you should have posted those media reports or other links that stands towards this claim because as what i have seen Bitcoin is not part of the report?and this sounds Fud because Bitcoin had reached $14,000 value just to left behind the top 10 ranked currency.

This is an altcoin legend list that has been relied on for most of the year. And the list above, in my opinion, almost all of them serve as a basic reference for current market volatility apart from the BTC and USD turnover.
