Title: Do you go to blockchain/crypto events?

The CES event is the biggest electronics showcase in the world and for the past few years, they have had a digital currency section. Some of the products that are being showcased seem pretty cool like crypto watches etc.

Is anyone going to this? The digital currency section of the event is only for a day or so. Larry King is speaking at one of the cryptocurrency talks lol.

If you are interested in learning more about it you can visit the above link which has information regarding some of the speakers and cool blockchain gadgets.

First you don't need post seperate when you say anything about same subject. Please just ask in old one.

And yes if I can, I always try to join events. So I can learn some information, engage with projects closely. It would be great if you can. But it can be harsh sometimes because it is not easy to travel internationally.

Depends on which company has event, personally I was on Bitfury's event (got invited) and it was all good, this company works actively in developing and integrating of blockchain technologies and have contract with government of Georgia. They implemented land title registry and etc. Well it's not our subject right now.
Personally I would avoid more than 90% of blochain/crypto events because all they are looking for is money and not actual share of knowledge, presentation of innovations and etc. When ticket costs a lot and actually you get nothing from it, then why to go? Go only on good events, you'll find interesting people.

I do. I even attended the Blockshow in Singapore last year. Its a good place to learn and meet new people and also see in person people who you see in articles only because there are times they invite big names to be their guest speaker. Another is the freebies, since theres an exibit, expect a lot of giveaways from different companies to tryout and promote their services. Most of them are giving away USBs.

I would love to go in one but I am being fed up by my job right now and can't pretty much go to these events. I knew one close to our place last year, about 6-8 hours of travel, I want to go but my free time would be ending in 2 days so I thought it would just be disappointing to go there and just stay there for a day. I just hope I could go into one this year.

It depends on the purpose and the main objective of the blockchain event if it tallies to my line in crypto. Like in 2017, I attended one EOS event in USA because that is just an avenue to meet new people and increase networking on my professional field.

Well, it's impossible for me to go there even I want to because my im from another country and for me right now it is impossible for me to go there, but if happens that it there's an event like that in my country then I'm happy to go and learn more about crypto world. Also, I want to say that maybe next time you should do a proper post, you should not put a lot of space in your texts. It doesn't loome good to see.

I'd think of going if it was taking place in Europe. CES is in Las Vegas which is beyond my reach. I've never been to the US and I'm not planning on going.

This is the problem with these things. They are for enthusiasts who have enough money to go to another country and stay there for a week. Basically if you have a stable work, don't earn a ton of money every year, maybe have a small child, you're out of the game.

I am a fan of blockchain event because it give me more idea on how blockchain really works. I remember that our school conducted a seminar about blockchain. They invited some guest speaker to elaborate the real meaning and importance of blockchain and cryptocurrency. It is good since some school is now open to talk about it unlike before.

It is an excellent opportunity that we want to be more included in the event that is related to blockchain and cryptocurrency. Most of the time, there are entrepreneur visits to schools and give an open forum or a talk to the students. In my school, they invite a professional about blockchain technology, and he introduces to us how it will run and how he earns a lot of money. He said he didn't spend any money; instead, he uses bitcoin for his entrance fee at a seminar. That kind of talk helps a lot to us to introduce the world of crypto and helps us to earn at the early age.

In my country there is not much awareness regarding blockchain and crypto. I haven’t seen any event being organized so far but if there will be any, I will be the first one to join and network there with like-minded people. With time we will see more and more events as crypto adoption get mainstream adoption.

I don't think it is interesting to do such an event, because it only does exhibitions that are no different from an electronic product.
It's better they give a good performance than just busy making an event like that.
If I'm not mistaken, the event was initiated by the Libra Foundation. So it can be concluded by yourself what the event will be like. :)

I never go to any crypto event although i would love to go. The only reason for me of not going to these events is that these events occur in other countries and i would need visa and lot of money for international travel. If these events happens in my country, i would love to go there.

I would like to go to more such events but unfortunately I don't have enough opportunities and there are not many such events in my country, at least not at high quality level. It's also important who is organizing it and who are the speakers but such events, especialy if they are international, could be very useful for getting new information, learning something and making new contacts so my suggestion to everyone is to participate.

There were few small events related to blockchain and crypto which I have attended. The good thing about any such event is that they give you an opportunity to meet and have a contact with local crypto community. I wish I can travel to USA and other big countries to attend big seminars on crypto.

I really like to go to blockchain and crypto-related events but my location limits me, it is quite hard to travel since I live in province and most of these events happen in major cities which is really far from my town. The knowledge you can get from this kind of event is huge and will help you to have a better understanding of crypto and blockchain.

Once an international block chain event happened in my city but i did not attend it because i was busy in some family event. I think there should be more and more such awareness event which will spread the bitcoin awareness among the people. Every government who supports crypto should think seriously on this suggestion.
The more the people will take interest in such events, it would mean people are interested in digital currency.

I can't go to that event because that's way too far from me. I mean, do I really have to travel on other country? There's also some events and seminars about blockchain and crypto here in my country which I also don't have time to go to. If I just can go, I would love to. But most events here in my country is still quite far from my place. I think I just got to wait when an event will happen near my place. But there are some small lessons about blockchain that I have went to.

Finally someone who actually visited the event. So what was your experience and what you felt after visiting this event. Although the name Web Summit preaasumes that it is some sort of a Web event and not a bitcoin/blockchain event. Even if there was a portion dedicated to blockchain, it should be good.

Most of the people here complain that they do not have access to the event or it is too much far away or not in their country. I think authorities can also publish live web cast of such events as it will help everyone to watch it from their homes. Those who are present in the city, should defiantly visit such events as they are lucky that event is held in their own country.

I dont go due to lack of time, but I'd love to. Of course I'd have to be picky about it because some conferences invite scammers and promote shitcoins like HEX and BSV.

They're fun to go to to watch and maybe learn something, but mostly these types of events are more social and networking kind of things.

I agree. You don't usually learn anything at these events but you can make some friends and secure business deals. It's a great place for people who already have some profit from investing in the space and want to start something of their own, with similar enthusiasts.

I haven't gone to any crpytocurrency-affiliated conventions yet but I tend to watch speeches I can find on the internet from well-known entities in the bitcoin investment world. I would love to personally see them though, to get first-hand information and insights that could help me and everyone else in their cryptocurrency investment journey.

Unfortunately i have never been in such awesome events because my time is tight.

I would still love to go into some of those just for obtaining more knowledge, information and to invite friends and family.

These way i would be helping advertising them with more adoption and cryptocurrency interactions.

Maybe next time if any near my city i will be able to give it a shot.

CES is a big tech show. I read that Ledger Wallet won an award (CES Innovation Award) there last year.
Personally, I have never been in CES before, I wish I can go to CES next time.

However, I you asked me for another event, I have visited several blockchain events before.
My favorite is XBlockchain Summit in 2018. This event held by PundiX in Bali, Indonesia.
At this event they announced their new product, xPhone. It is a blockchain phone. They demonstrated how it works, the protocol, and so on. I met Cryptoshillnye as well at this event. That is the first time he reveals his identity.

I already went to the blockchain seminars here in my country twice.
It's really inspiring if you hear speeches that really state 100% facts about how blockchain was good and have many uses in our society.

I managed to compose my thoughts during that seminar.

I only came to the seminar about 2 times about cryptocurrency in my city but not a seminar that discusses what Blockchain is in detail, the seminar that I went,  discussed about the crypto coins they were going to launch and they wanted to find investors, that rather disappointing because of that more they explain at length only their project.

if there is an event or seminar that discusses Blockchain, the future of Blockchain and the benefits of Blockchain to humans in detail I will definitely come to that event/seminar.

I went only once back in 2017 to a crypto event when honestly I'm so sorry that I went as it was with TAX and they spoke only crazy stuff there, making people to buy into Bitcoin at crazy values and promoting altcoins that I never heard of them so when you go to a event like this one just make sure that the event is a top one , with tech details speaking so in this way you will walk out with some new knowledge instead.

In my country there is not much of conferences taking place related to cryptocurrency. Recently got an opportunity to attend the conference that is titled for a discussion on hyperledger security. As a group we participated in the conference, to the expectation I didn't get anything out of the conference talks. After that only a friend used to participate in conferences because he is technically skilled than me.

I live in a remote location so I have almost never participated in any cryptocurrency events, all the information I have is obtained through the internet.
So far, ICO events have not caught my attention, most of them are just hype from the development team.
Currently I am investing in BTC, BNB, LTC, ETH if these coins hold an event maybe I will try to participate.

No, I've never attended anything like this, though I would be interested in doing so if there was an event that was reasonably close to me.  The main problem I'd have is that I don't know anyone in real life who's interested in bitcoin, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to go to a big gathering by myself.  It would be so much better to have a buddy tagging along, someone who'd be interested in a bunch of crypto nerds congregating in an enclosed space.  That's not for everyone.

Maybe I'll meet someone from this forum face-to-face eventually, but I don't think I know of anyone who's from my state.  Anyway right now I don't think I'm missing out on much by not going to conventions or whatever they're called.

I don't, I think most are a waste of time if you aren't a newbie or aren't looking to sell something, but newbies themselves should watch out not to get lured into wasting money on some altcoin scam.

Not even once. The problem about blockchain and crypto events is that it is usually held in the capital city and other major cities. If one will be interested to take part in such events, one has to book a hotel, pay for a flight, and so on. Not to mention that most of these events might ask for a registration fee. Participation becomes expensive.

I havent attended any these kind of crypto/events here on my country but i do hear out that most of them are just trying to sell out some mentorship nor trying to attract people on their own motives like advertising their own coin/project and trying to convince those attendees to invest
thats why im not really that interested but there were some who do actually had that conference but i do missed out on joining these events.

time and place limitations create obstacles to measure crypto events, because in my country there are also several crypto-related events but their location is in a big city. so I think if the location is far away it would be better not to follow it unless it has a lot of funds, and what I know is that the crypto event is a place to provide information about projects that have a cryptocurrency system and serve as advertising for them.

No, there are not much events in my country and if does it could be just a small group which is composed of those who are also part of their circle.

Most of them are about new projects so who cares much about that.
No one talks much about bitcoin and the only thing you will hear is them boasting about how great their project will be.
That will just make me sleepy.
I would rather read an article about them rather than listening to them wearing sweet faces.

Here in my country, we also don't have this kind of events about blockchain and cryptocurrency, but there are small groups here that you could actually join because here we help each other if they needed help about crypto. I think i only attended seminars about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology because here i started to become interested to do trading in cryptocurrency.

Blockchain events are really helpful especially if they will conduct seminars on different aspects of blockchain and cryptocurrency such as teaching people about different tools how to develop blockchain, and in some aspects, how to make money by learning how to trade. This is a great initiative to help the community grows and provide income to people possible, making a wider community of cryptocurrency enthusiasts and to expand cryptocurrency adoption. One possible impact is to provide better market price for various cryptocurrencies.

I've never been to any such events, and I likely never will, because to me they look like a waste of time - it's mostly just startups promoting themselves, there's not much educational stuff being presented, and if it is, I can just watch a video of it later. Maybe such events are great in terms of networking, but networking never interested me much, so that's just another reason for me to avoid these events.

Not even once. The problem about blockchain and crypto events is that it is usually held in the capital city and other major cities. If one will be interested to take part in such events, one has to book a hotel, pay for a flight, and so on. Not to mention that most of these events might ask for a registration fee. Participation becomes expensive.
time and place limitations create obstacles to measure crypto events, because in my country there are also several crypto-related events but their location is in a big city. so I think if the location is far away it would be better not to follow it unless it has a lot of funds, and what I know is that the crypto event is a place to provide information about projects that have a cryptocurrency system and serve as advertising for them.

That is what I am saying. Crypto events are normally held in metro cities, in the urban centers. That is understandable because they know where the businesses are focused and the largest bulk of the population as well. Their target audience would easily be reached this way. Nobody would spend huge amounts just to hold an event in the rural areas where there is very thin population.

I did see one but at that time I am not really ready to be a part of it.

Outside the venue of that event, I am just waiting for some people to come out since there might be someone that I know who can I go with and talk with about this but unfortunately, there's no one that I knew inside. I think that is ind of my fault of not going inside, I still shy at that time and I kind of regret it since I never had a chance to go after that.

event is always a place to show the quality of the products that will be made. however, it is a good opportunity to see the benefits of the project, especially in cryptocurrency. honestly, I really want to attend an event like that, unfortunately, the location is too far from where I live, and sometimes I can't go out because there are some things I need to finish. so, I sometimes just search for information about the project on the internet.

not in that specific event but i did in the past when the Meet ups happen near my place because i am a busy person so i had no chance to go if its far from me.

though i missed one last year because of time conflict but still looking for another another to come.since it is our pleasure and benefits to learn more about the technology and the possibilities to earn more.

it's an interesting event, will we get a prize from the event ... !! interesting to follow ..
in every event there is a prize at stakes and they are giving away much prizes(if you are lucky to be chosen lol)and dont just follow event instead come to meet the team if you had a chance grab the opportunity.

I would love to go on some blockchain/crypto events,
But it depends onthe location and if that event would be interesting for me.
Joining or participating on some crypto would also give us some benefits since we would gain some knowledge and learn more about crypto/blockchain.

I like to experience and attend this kind of event. I have heard before there is an event but it's too far from my place. If there’s any opportunity that is accessible to me I would love to attend, and it is good to become part of the attendee whereas we can learn more about crypto. Also, good to have this event so other people will be aware all about crypto.

I haven't been and I never heard also somewhere in our place. If ever, I guess it depends. I'm quite shy to meet those crypto people yet. I still consider myself as newbie to these. And I'd feel so low in knowledge about it yet. Well, probably it can also give me or enhance me more. But it also depends if I have companions with me. I think that event is very mind blowing. Its quite exciting though and maybe if ever I can come it also a great experience.

It would be a great experience meeting and interacting people like you who are also into cryptocurrency. Sometimes I also feel shy with other people I don't know so it's better to go to events with your friends so you wouldn't feel lonely and you have someone to talk to. You'll get your confidence when you're with your friends. Going to crypto or blockchain events doesn't have to be that good or expert about it. That's the reason why you are there, to learn. So you should also try things out.

Whenever there is a blockchain and cryptocurrency events that takes place, people shouldn't miss the opportunity to learn new things from it. Especially if they are already a pro-cryptocurrency, it is their way to take advantage of grasping new knowledge to enhance their way of talking to people about cryptocurrency itself, with an aim of promoting it and to attract potential investors in the future. One other way where they could lead their knowledge is to develop blockchain application that will provide better services to people.

I really want to go with all the events related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Besides, it is one of the many events that I want to attend. Attending different events that tackles blockchain and cryptocurrencies is a great thing that will happen in your life because aside from learning new things about this, you can also interact with other people who are already professionals in this field. I still don't have enough money to attend to this kind of events but if ever given a chance, I will totally grab it because it's my opportunity to learn new knowledge and I won't waste my time to learn this thing.

I don't see much of a point.

You're unlikely to find much more additional information attending one of these events compared to simply searching for it online - besides, there are a ton of projects that are only there in order to get your money.

Just becaues they attend a conference doesn't guarantee their legitimacy, just ask Bitconnect. So why bother?

I disagree.

You are able to talk with developers directly about the projects that they are working on. A lot of what you read online is from non-developers or people recycling information. Events are original content.

What event did bitconnect go to besides the fake audience and stage they used in the bitconnnnnnectttttt video? I don't think they actually went to any popular events.

Also not all the projects even have tokens. I went to the ETH Boston event that was made up of many projects without tokens, and the majority of people there were people working on their own grass-root projects.

The CES event is the biggest electronics showcase in the world and for the past few years, they have had a digital currency section. Some of the products that are being showcased seem pretty cool like crypto watches etc.

I have been to a few blockchain events before, it can be considered one of the biggest events in my country. But to be honest, it's not really cool, one of those events was created to promote fake altcoins, Bitcoinnect. It makes me feel very uncomfortable with such counterfeit coins, since then, I'm not interested in those events anymore.

I have a very exciting activity. I tried to follow this platform where technological developments were exhibited. It needs to be explained independently of Bitcoin price movements. It's unreasonable to talk to Bitcoin just for the price. The first contact can be aimed at making money. However, with these activities, people can be told what kind of technology it has.

It is not easy to find a crypto event in many countries because that will be related to the permission that will be asked by the government. If in one country the crypto is prohibited, then the crypto event will not continue, and the crypto event will be available in the underground, so only a few people will come. Maybe if the company wants to create a crypto event, they can ask the governments first and ask for permission so the crypto event can run successfully.

Instead, you should take advantage of the platforms we do have online, wherein most of the cryptocurrency events are focusing their topics into. Such as blockchain development, implementation of a new cryptocurrency, development of tokens, and cryptocurrency trading. For sure, there is allot of hindrance we could encounter upon searching available blockchain/crypto events, but still, online source is somehow reliable and will equip us with knowledge we need.

Then flight and attend some big-time event about cryptocurrency in other countries. I know it'll be worth it since seminars or events will let you learn more about cryptocurrency, I'm sure you'll not regret it.

I thought the government already lifted the ban on cryptocurrency in your country. I think licensed cryptocurrency companies will be allowed to have seminars or events regarding crypto since it's legal. Well, if it's not true then it's very unlucky to have a country that prohibits even a simple discussion about cryptocurrency.

yes, it does, but not every bitcoin event/convention is worth going to. last year I went to a total of 4 bitcoin/cryptocurrency and blockchain event's 2 of those events are highly informative
and if someone asks me if they should ever go to a bitcoin event I would suggest they should but I'd ask them to search what the event activities which could make the difference between
bad experience to great experience.

And a lot of investor and pro trader are sharing their knowledge not just in an event but also in the internet and also from blogs.
bitcoin and blockchain events/convention usually have people who have a lot of knowledge about trading, investors, business etc.. that informs people about their respective fields.
the difference between reading blogs from these people and meeting them in person is that you can ask them personally if you don't understand something and get a great
response and probably additional tips about the questions you ask.

Ultimately, I'm not much of a "networker" though, it doesn't really fit well with my personality since I'm not really into sales or sales tactics despite enjoying social interaction. So how much I get out of these things I've never really been too sure.

I'm in a different country so no. Only hear of CES from the recommended gamer vids, I didn't even knew they already have a crypto section in the event this year since it seem to be mostly an event about the newest gadgets and consoles.

That's nice since it introduces it to other attendants that are not yet familiar with it. Even better if these gamer Youtubers start promoting it in their channels, or at least give it passing mention.

Do you live in the Philippines? in two days there will be a blockchain 2020 kick-off summit in Manila, and tickets are sold out. Then there are 4 active events this month, you can check directly at https://www.eventbrite.com/d/philippines--manila/blockchain/?page=1

Every year I look forward to the CES and their assortments of conference shows hosting for every big name contributors like Samsung, Dell, Apple, etc. There is always some really good tech in there with most of it being made up of concepts in order to capture the opinion and appeal of the consumer. There used to be a world fair where they would showcase concepts for the future of technology and i think CES is modeled similar except it has been scaled down a bit.
The first world fair for technological prowess was called "Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations" and was held way back in 1851, hosted at The Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, London, United Kingdom.
It would soon be one of many world fairs to come.

I honestly never heard any blockchain/crypto events here in our country because cryptocurrency is not really that popular here, so i don't think there are no any events or seminars that are related to crypto and blockchain. But if there is really a blockchain/crypto events here i would like to go because maybe it could help me in my future investment.
Same is the case in my country also. Most of the people do not know about this market and that is why they do not want to invest in it also. Seminars and meetings can help create people awareness about this market. In those gatherings, users will promote their business at the same time crypto market also. This would result into the more people coming toward this market.

Did you happen to attend the CES event or do you watch it online or something?

If you have gone to it, what was your favorite blockchain product/service?

Unfortunately, mostly crypto events in my country held in afternoon. And my job not let me to get out while at work. For me who not really involved deep into crypto, i think i will prefer to choose my job than take a day off only to come for crypto events.

The old days come to my mind. Very few organizations promoting this market were organized. Bitcoin can now advertise itself. Now a bitcoin event is held in almost every country. The spreading area for developing countries cryptocurrency.

A very good promotional opportunity for Bitcoin? Do you agree with this sentence. I disagree bitcoin is already well known. It might make sense to create a platform where people learn how to trade in Exchange. Because the general approach is to make money. and it is much harder not to lose.

I would go to these events if they had any close to where I live.  They seem to be centered around the major metropolitan areas around the world and are hard for most of us to get to.

I did not go to any crypto event before but I would like to be the part of such events. In my country it was not widely known before but people are getting awareness about this digital currency now. If such events would be organized that would be a best way of promoting this market and Bitcoin value. This will also help users know the techniques of bringing improvements in their business.

Yeah, they are typically in bigger cities since those are the hubs where you would find the most people. Do you watch the events via a broadcast or do you simply neglect them?

There are events in the nearby city where I live and I have tried attending to some of it. I was just there to observe and see whether I can be part of the community.  I remember the names of the people I met and sometimes watch their youtube videos they posts too. What I don't like though is that they are asking for fees when you attend. There are NEM communities in my country which is quite busy into developing their own projects.

Most of the events that I've attended were in Southeast Asia. It was actually fun seeing lots of crypto enthusiasts, professionals, etc. I even encountered Vitalik Buterin, Roger Ver (twice), Changpeng Zhao (twice), Justin Sun (twice), Charlie Lee (twice), Da HongFei and the others (except Faketoshi lol).

I just felt happy seeing them in person, not just in Youtube or any other social media. I get the chance to convo with them for a bit (except the fact Vitalik doesn't like selfies).

It's my goal to keep going and increase exposure and connections to these blockchain and crypto events.

I've attended just one where I saw Vitalik Buterin and it was a great experience. Though I encountered that he spoke more about his smart contracts and Ethereum instead of talking about Bitcoin and the Blockchain technology. It was my bad as I am not good at technical part and that's what was discussed mostly. CES was missed by me and I have been watching videos uploaded by users who gathered there, such an innovative event with the world's leading tech giants representing their skills through their works.

Sadly i can not because they are not world wide and in some countries there is lack of blockchain knowledge so we need more crypto events there and that would be a good step for crypto .

Hey, seeing him in real life is really cool especially if you had a chance to talk to him personally for networking. For me, I used to go to blockchain meetups very frequently and then I gave it a break for personal reasons. Since September 2019, I started to join blockchain events once again. So far it's going well, but the sector was suffering from the negative market conditions a bit as you all know. Yet I see speakers and blockchain company representatives are being positive again for the further development, which is very promising for me. Can't wait for the good ones to participate this year, I've been following the calendars all around.

I don’t go for any of the events, maybe because I don’t find them interesting or I don’t have the time for that.
A fewBlockchain and Bitcoin events has been hosted in my country, not in my states, so I wasn’t able to attend any of them. And moreover, majority of them were just for noobs to teach them about cryptocurrency and create recognition for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a whole.

There are events I do wish that I’m able to attend but these events are mainly the ones that don’t happen in my country, the best ones are usually in Asia like China, Japan and others.

If I get such an opportunity then I will go, I often join blockchain related conferences in my country.
Even though I'm busy with a lot of work but I never miss such kind of crypto conference.
With this type of event, I can share my ideas with everyone as well as I am able know the ideas of others.
