I am doing a little research on WHY people are betting /gambling online with btc/crypto from various countries/states worldwide, and was hoping bitcointalk members  can be of some assistance.
I would specifically like to know (if you happen use crypto to gamble online) why you do so.

eg is it because you:

• can pay Less vig in some cases?
• wider game selection can gamble on games like minesweeper, paper rock scissors and other novelty games?
• "provably fair" games
• cannot bet in your current location
• crypto sites might offer markets unavailable elsewhere
• others ?

any info appreciated, if you can give me your state/country that would be helpful too for context.

You've answered your own question here and I am sure this is not an appropriate board for this topic. Kindly move to the gambling discussion board and probably much better. An additional to your answers are, avoiding KYC and easy to gamble using crypto because no one will know who you are(anonymously) not like using fiat it needs to reveal or link your bank account and probably identity.

As a gambler, it shouldn't be a matter wherein they will use fiat or crypto to play gambling as long as they really want to gamble on that particular site. However, in general, depositing money to fiat gambling sites isn't really convenient to others and in most cases, only limited to a few deposit options which the usual method is bank deposit. And in case of big winnings, it will be subject to verification, not just with the site but once the money is withdrawn to the bank (alarm). Also, we need to provide our personal information.

In crypto-form of gambling, even a casual gambler or those who only do gamble for once a month, or even a kid can bet whenever they want without worrying about undergoing a hassle way of depositing funds to their preferred crypto gambling sites while at the same time enjoying their anonymity.

I do have experience using a fiat online gambling site back then. The deposit option was only limited to bank transfer. Although I feel safe because the site was reputable and operating with a license, I found it hassle to fund my account just to play.

Gambling is not legal in many countries. Cryptocurrencies provide anonymity and thus it is convenient for many people to use it. At the same time cryptos like doge coins and tron are very cheap, using them to gamble does not burn the pockets. Gambling website that accepts crypto do not need KYC which means you are completely anonymous.

Similar words I do tend to say and that's the main reason why ive been hooked up on crypto gambling due to this.

Less hassle yet you wouldnt need your debit/credit card before you do play and theres no need for any kyc.

I have to agree to others here as well that crypto is more convenient to use compare to fiat. I don't see any fiat-based gambling site that doesn't need KYC and we aren't comfortable with that. Since it's easy to fund crypto, depositing to a crypto-gambling site is easy as well. No KYC, no documents, no blahblahblah, just an email and we can now start to gamble.

If only fiat-based gambling does have that, maybe I consider using them. Don't have an update as now if there's a change in their usual deposit methods.

Provably fair is definitely a big contributing factor. Traditional online casinos have big house edges and don't have provably fair mechanisms, which makes you aways skeptical of whether or not they are truly safe and fair especially when you see stories of very shady circumstances under which people lose money.

Also, convenience. As others have mentioned, crypto deposits take no time to hit (if you are playing on a casino with 0 confirmation deposits), and have no fees attached to them compared to something like Skrill or Neteller which could take a while to recharge from your bank.

I think the one thing that people failed to mention in general is the community. Crypto casinos generally do a much better job cerating a sense of community, through chatrooms, events, etc. compared to fiat ones.

Everyone has a different reason why do we use crypto to gamble. Well, I'm glad that cryptocurrency has good benefits for using it on gambling.
For me, just like what @harizen told and I think that's also one of the most reason for majority gamblers that uses cryptocurrency.

For now, I'll give a scenario about that for what I experienced using crypto and using fiat.
E.g. I tried to gamble in some online websites based on our country and before I can gamble, I needed to withdraw my money from ATM Bank and go to some money send an express to send my cash-in my money to the gambling site and I need to wait because there's a lot of people.

So, if we do it using cryptocurrency, hell yeah. LESS HASSLE and CONVENIENT, and MUCH CHEAPER too since of some fees compare sending fiat to the gambling site.

like what harizen said "LESS HASSLE and CONVENIENT" but for me being able to play in such small amounts (which you can't do in most local gambling casino(or at least in my area) is one of the reasons I specifically use crypto for gambling. also, having a wide range of gambling game and online gambling casino that gives the best opportunity to earn and enjoy the game is definitely a must-try and will be a waste to miss it out.

Biggest reasons for me to gamble are:

- Ability to gamble with amounts as low as 1 satoshi(Difficult to find such low amounts in a FIAT based casino)
- No KYC ensures that my identity is anonymous
- Simple registration process
- Possibility to earn more thanks to the volatile nature of crypto

And it really minimize the hassle since in fiat we can get a hard time for any legal documentation which is totally sucks to provide with and imagine how big the fee's we will pay for every transactions we made.

Crypto-gambling also tends to attract people who are already familiar with crypto.     International gambling owners probably find cryptocurrency payment better & easier to integrate into their sites. And crypto is quite easy to get and use worldwide. Provable fair is an important factor too.

I, for one, wasn't into gambling at all before I got acquainted with cryptos and gambling websites as use cases. The possibility of having provably fair games is very important, because I indeed would  not trust that a casino is playing by the rules. Especially with this association between classic casinos and criminals. Another strong reason for me is that I don't want to pass KYC and have my bets as banking transactions connected to my identity. It can be used to manipulate me, so I prefer not to give off information unless it's necessary.

Well, we have different reasons why someone chooses crypto when they are going to gamble.
The number one reason, of course, the anonymity. They dont want to reveal their real identity in gambling and probably it will link to your bank accounts or credit card when you are using fiat money. Cryptocurrency is freely used and convenient to use.
Another thing is very fast transactions have when it comes cash out and cash in.

because it won't be too complicated, and also some regulations in each country are different, so it's easier to use crypto you just transfer, send and play.

for me the most important reasons are:
1. no KYC
2. instant deposits withdrawals  , limited only by the network speed , while in the ususal casinos you can wait for our money for days if not weeks
3. low house edge - 1% is the standard
4. provably fair , means I can be sure that there are no shenanigans going on

mostly it is the ease of use and convenience, once you played at one casino / dice , you , practically need no time to adjust to a new site

my bank will not let me gamble despite my being in a country that actually licences sportsbooks and casinos (Malta).

most of the reason you list are way too common , i mean not only for a gambling site that uses a crypto as payment method but also to a normal gambling site that only accept centralized payment methods but the only one i think the difference on why crypto can stand out is that it offers something unique that arent available on a regular gambling site  . example could be betting anonymously  , no names or other sensitive info involved aside from the date and time of the created transactions  .

I choose crypto to gamble because I can do it anonymously and fast.

Do you want to play and bet with your bank accounts, or Paypal? Not right? Some gamblers don't want to expose sensitive details and those platforms are costly and banks are not allowing gambling stuff they can freeze your account anytime which is scary unlike cryptocurrency no restriction you can join wherever you are with less fee and no banks intervention why is why most gambling platform uses cryptocurrency.

I chose crypto to gamble because of the following reasons

I gamble a lot during the office hours and yes its very convenient and you can play the games that you want since most of the games are there in crypto gambling. Though I didn’t use my bitcoin anymore for gambling because I’m waiting for the bull market, I do stop using my crypto in gambling especially when I know that the bull is about to come.

I still use my salary to gamble but not that much now since I can use some of my cryptocurrencies in some of the gambling sites I store. Mostly I just get free satoshis from the faucets of that certain site.

I use both crypto and fiat for gambling. When online, I am focused on crypto gambling sites, may it be a casino or a sports betting site. But when offline, I cannot use crypto because most of my gambling friends do not know anything about crypto. So that would be on a fiat basis. So I guess I could sum it up as offline = fiat and online = crypto. Why crypto? Because of the anonymity it offers. We love to do it as long as it's possible and legitimate. There were new methods that I have seen before but many of them were not legitimate and just made their casino with a different purpose. Filipinos are not prohibited by any law to gamble online or play in online casinos. They can play and gamble online, may it be through sports betting or playing casino games such as slots or dice or anything else unless specified by the country's gambling laws to be prohibited. The only condition is that they should be gambling on sites that are licensed and regulated offshore. Meaning to say, they cannot play on online casinos that are licensed and regulated in the their own country.^[1]

In my opinion, more risk doesn't directly mean that more profits could possibly be obtained, in gambling, most of the time we stick to one betting platform only, in this regard, the risk is already measured by us and will just depend on how much we bet, because basically I believe that if we bet huge amount, it doesn't mean we are increasing the intake of possible risk to it, risk is just a fix value for me, that we get right from the start when we first cash in to our gambling platform accounts.

The risk will always be behind us in anything, not just in the gambling industry. If people can know about the risk and accepting the risk, they can use the money for anything they want, and they will not have a problem if they lose the money in gambling. When we bet in a big amount, we need to know that the chance behind the bet will be bigger too. And we need to understand that in gambling, we will have two options, win or lose, so we can be careful in placing the bet amount.

main reason is of course accessibility and the easiness to use,imagine i can Gamble and also Invest in cryptocurrency?
because whenever i am winning?i make sure that part of my wins will go to my Holding,this is for my future profit while the remaining will be for my family and friends and also the other part will be for my future betting of course.

yeah legalities and privacy as what most of us love playing with crypto than Fiat or other form of payments to gamble.

Many casinos disponible on the crypto scene allows regular big gamblers to stay under the radar, if they wish and if anonymity is an important factor for them.

I choose to run or get out of the game for the time being if the government really pushes its will and continues to put pressure on the casinos. But while out of the game, we can also look for other casinos that really have nothing to do with the government or casinos implementing a small part of the verification that will not burden us. I think that will give us some time to search for the other casino that still supports the gambler who is concerned about privacy.

It probably makes sense from the point of view of practicality, but in the end there will simply be no places where you can run away. Although it may not be so tragic and "there will be enough while we alive" of various opportunities, but watching how events develop in all areas, I am rather skeptical about the future.

Even not that huge as long as they've found that there's something wrong with that transfer, I don't know how they would find that out but there must be a way. They'll still ask you for a KYC if they think like that.
To sum it up about the advantage of using crypto to gamble, it's true about being anonymous and it's easier than the usual transfer that we've been doing from fiat and physical casinos.

I believe it is obvious they take a part on the matter. The scam is around the corner as well.

everyone has their own reasons but if you are involved in this industry and besides that you like gambling games, do you choose fiat or crypto?  for other reasons in some countries gambling is illegal and many community members choose crypto because it is more convenient without having to register your bank account, there are many reasons why and you have answered some of your questions yourself.
