As we all know that this is one of worst time for all ALT coins including here are some Strong coins also facing this badly downtrend because of Bitcoin's unstablity and market fear. So, this is not by any meant that this down trend will never be revese and ALT coins will be recover.

Here is majority in crypto market are hopless and loss interest to trade anymore because of this boring situation, But i think Whales and other intellegent investor always looking for these kind of situation. Right now is not a worst time for altcoins because they are recovering now unlike last year. Well, for me the best time to buy good altcoins is during the downtrend because its pretty cheap. Like ETH before around $120 and below, if you able to bought on that level then you already have a decent profit. Buy when there’s a fear in the market but I agree that you should not fall into shitcoins. The top altcoins can survive the downtrend, its proven so don’t panic and buy if you’re ready.

@fib1012, you gave good advice. Almost everyone is aware of this, but you know, the common problem with lots of investors, most especially retail investors is lack of patience. If you are going to invest in altcoins, irrespective of how much it has plunged or how high its position is in the market, if you lack patience, you might end up losing.
Imagine when the market was bleeding and almost all altcoins, including BTC, had seriously gone downtrend, some of those who invested when their prices were high, I am sure would have sold at loss, which is a plus to whales and astute investors.
If we, therefore, can be patient to see the market mature again, it will definitely be a gainful investment. Although, you also have to be conscious of greed.

It is true that right now we are hard to believe in altcoins since most of them have not really good performance. But trust me that two altcoins (ETH and XRP) are always good to invest. These coins commonly follow the trends in Bitcoin. So, if this year or in 2021, the Bitcoin will have a great season, I am pretty sure that ETH & XRP will probably have a good season as well.

You are definitely right OP, we should only focus on the coin  that has a good name or even have good value or volume on the market. The top-performing cryptocurrencies is always the best option if you're going to invest your funds and it is the safest way to have secure profit. Then, even if it is always being advised by other member here, you should make sure that you have already conducted your own research about the certain coin so you can determined if the investment is worth it to invest. As of now, the current state of market is now recovering that's why it's the best time to buy more altcoin. Besides, I highly recommend to buy BNB, XRP, ETH and LTC.

It's definitely the right time to start buying some good altcoins, I believe bitcoin will drag altcoins up this year and if you are smart enough you will have few altcoins in your portfolio because altcoins are badass when it comes to Huge ROI, still I suggest you keep bitcoin as well

I would say until mid-march you can trade crypto, but sell them before April, as bitcoin halving is in April and bitcoin is going to pump. And its trend when there is a pump in BTC other crypto values drops.

Ofcourse yes, this is the best time to buy alts but you can't expect a good return very soon the Alts market is very very poor now. Plan for longer term if you are ready to invest, I will go with eth, bnb and TRON. These three are some high potential altcoins in the market which will give you good profit, plan accordingly.

The truth remains that even the shitcoins are only known from hindsight and not while the event is still current. By the way, how do we even define shitcoins? Is it by price level or what? I have done Walton that I bought at ATH but today Walton is barely up to 80cent. This was a coin I believed was solid but what has become of it today? Do we regard WTC as a shitcoin then? Yes it's not a bad time at all, bitcoin can make altcoins reach a new price tag but you need to be careful, still it's better to hold more bitcoin than altcoins, some are saying altcoins won't surge like in the past ever again, I don't know what to belief but it's better to play safe

DOGE and DASH can be added into the list and avoid investing on coins like XRP which is centralized.

But the condition of current market is lot better compared to 2019 so if bull run arrives then possibilities for most of available cryptos will go to moon.

Wait for a good entry point. Dont just by easily because they are telatively low. Some altcoin pumps due to whale manipulations. If I were you I head over Binance exchange and check which coins have the most market volume.

These coins even at dump price can easily move fast if the volume still huge. Find low supply tokens with relative to average market cap. If you found a good one then expect some ROI. But if your a passive investor or trader just stay on btc or eth and wait for the right time to sell.

Actually I disagree. The worst time for most alts, but it is also a good time for a few others. Some I have been holding had their worst times in 2018 and late in 2019. But they are now mostly at least recovered over 100% from their low. I have optimism for most of them,,, and if you see other old coins are doing even better just quietly. I agree with everything in your list except TRX and XRP;)

For me its yes, because most altcoins are not yet so expensive nowadays. if we analyze the current market condition it is already showing a positive growth it means the price is adding more every 2 weeks if the trend continues until a month I think it's a positive sign of the upcoming bullish market trends that everyone's waiting for so long that's why you can buy now the coin/token of your choice.

well now many say that Tron is shitcoin but I disagree a little with your statement because all cryptocurrency requires a process to be expensive, tron must have a good development to be able to increase demand and use of tron so that when everything increases the price at the exchange will also increase. so wait for the tron platform to provide good news that can shake the world of cryptocurrency.

It is really hard to say when is the right time, I think it is always right with the right project. As a newbie account here on Bitcointalk but maybe in other platforms you are not, you pick a decent altcoin but at the end of the day we are the one who will do the final decision. I think its always time to buy cryptocurrencies in general as long as you hold them long term and you don't make panic buys or panic sells when markets swings in prices. Right now, the market is on the rise so its a sign that you should start to buy great cryptos but the real bottom of them was kinda in november/december 2019.

On the contrary, I think we should wait in Bitcoin a while. If you remember last bull season, firstly Bitcoin price rose then all other altcoins.

Yes it is a wise choice to pick and invest only good coins in the market. The market has many good coins worthy of investment. Some of them are BTC, ETH, XRP, BNB, LTC etc. But sometimes, so called shitcoins give good returns on your investment. But there is a risk that these coins maybe pumped. I think you are right mate. From last 1-2 months their was a complete downtrend in alt market although some coin was pumped due to some of their new or development by the team. But now it is the a long time to removed the alt coin market and here a very strong possibilities to bounce back for market. So here is time to join the party because in any time bull run will start in alt coins.

It was very noticing to see that some altcoins are recovering recently but you'll be also aware that still a lot of altcoins don't make it. Hopefully, you could choose the right and most promising altcoins otherwise, you will just lose. Investing altcoins is really at the high risk rather than of choosing Bitcoin but of course, we don't have to disclose the chances that (some) altcoins may have just like of those coins that are on the top 10 in the market.

For its numbers, I don't think we needed to have them all and put our money on them for return assurance but having coin/s that seems to be manageable is good enough.

Everyone including me keep saying it is dangerous to buy during the bull times but it looks like bull isn't starting like we assumed it would this time around. Back in the day when prices go up, it went up straight to all time prices in very quick fashion, these days it is not doing that at all so I assume it could basically be just half way there yet, maybe not even. So, I assume buying altcoins in these days could be worth it, not that it wouldn't be smarter to buy when it was lower, however it would be decent if you bought it now as well.

I can't guarantee anything tho, maybe we found the top for many of them and it will go back down, but if we are on verge of a bull run that is bigger, that means buying now would be a great idea as well. Just have to be very careful.

Absolutely yes, I guess when Bitcoin's price is under 10K then it is the perfectly time in order buy some cryptocurrencies due to most of them are the followers of BTC, now the current price is $9300 and I guess in this month, there will be no significant progress .
Furthermore, the market is pretty stable right now, there is no big volatility especially the first crypto on the market (TOP 20 ). Try to buy some crypto who have a low price and an acceptable value of Market cap ( it is better to be more than 1 Billion dollars ) for example, XRP, EOS, Tezos..ect

Without something interesting in project, you wouldn't like to hold for long time. For top invest this is the right to make investment. Fresh coin could help to got high profits.

That list will be a good choice for the altcoin that we can buy besides the other altcoins because we have so many altcoins that will be the potential to increase in the next bull run. But we still need to be careful in choosing the coins because we don't know which coins that can improve and we should analyze before we buy.

Ethereum will be the next coins after bitcoin that we can buy, and now, ethereum has good movements, and it already increases. But we still need to patient for more and still analyze the coins so we can get the right coins. I am still watching TRX, XRP, NEO because these coins can also increase like ETH.

If you understand the market then you can invest in any project anytime. Maybe some will not agree but I think Bitcoin is about to do a jump up to around 10k. why not   ? there are actually .  like for example today , prices of other coins are up . if you are a cost savy person you wont buy at this  times  . for you maybe because you think you can buy all the time  but not all people are like you or have the same wealth like you  . this also says that the right or wrong time will depend on each and everyone of us   .  time is important on investing but other aspects are needed to  , like if what kind of coin we are going to get because if we will only get low standard coins because thier value is small , that wouldnt make sense afterall   .

in my opinion, not very good, because most of old alt and especially in the top 20 are still very bound by the movement of bitcoin prices and I should recommend alt which is relatively new because their performance is actually good examples of fairly recent alt are aion, wan, aelf, tomochain but before choosing it you should follow your heart because not necessarily the alt that enters the top 20 will not rise again, maybe when bitcoin successfully breaks the price back above 10 K $ a surprise from them will come.

Just try to remind op to buy any altcoins when it has dumped by the dumpers. That will give op a very good opportunity to take the profit easily from the market. That's a very simple guide but really useful. i have also tried that and it's worked as long as we can be patience.

There is going to be a dump before bull runs arrive. You can mark my words. This is the usual case with each of the cryptocurrency markets. As far as I have noticed, I have always seen a dump anytime a pump is going to occur and that is the point where I buy my coins. This might even be the point where you or OP can make purchases.

Considering the one hour graph for bitcoins, the graph might be somewhat similar to the current price for few days and then it might experience a dump followed by pump. That dump is what I am waiting for to buy my coins. You should try to find such specific dump for yourself because these dumps and pumps can actually make us earn decent amount just in few hours or maybe in few days.

If you think you can find that "right" altcoin, it is always the right time to invest for it, yet it is really hard to find that right coin.

The trouble is not the time for altcoins but the option of which altcoins. Historically speaking, on every single day there is one coin that has the most profitable one that increases insanely high, even one horrible days there are ones that make 20%+ profits, which means it is always the time to invest into altcoins as long as you find the correct one that will make that jump that day.

I personally feel like right now is a great time for accumulation and not going all in, I would buy small by small every week on the coins I personally like, which goes to show maybe it will go up or down but I would increase my numbers slowly.

I agree with the statement that states that there is no bad time to buy altcoin, it's the same as buying bitcoin. it's just that, we need to choose the altcoin that we will hold because we know that not all altcoin has good quality. however, I only recommend choosing altcoin at the top level. it's like the top 10 altcoins, or altcoins that you know are developing.

I can personally say that as a guy who bought into some alts at what I THOUGHT was a good buy. For example XRP at $1, which was less than 30% of the ATH. And I also even got into something called Elastic also at 50% of ATH.

I actually timed my purchases of alts thinking I bought at the dip.

Exactly, I agree from now altcoins start to pumpming whales or HODLER will try to convert their most of the portfolio in to Bitcoin and again will be looking for hard time for altcoins and then they will be fill their bags with potential coins. Of course. I yesterday bought ethereum coins, although with a little profit, but I really believe in this coin with proof that they have proven after developing from ethereum classic.
