I place a bet with a colleague i want to be sure if anyone has useful information about ETH please share here thank you.

How much did you bet?

There's no one that has the information to know if ETH will hit the all time high again. What you need is the analysis of an expert in trading and focusing with Ethereum. I'm no expert so it means that I can't help you with this.

Asking if ETH will hit ATH is out of it because no one can be sure of that. It is even difficult to say if it will go up not to talk of hitting all time high. Just keep your fingers crossed and watch as the event unfold.

You place your bet without any insights about ETH? Well, that’s a risky move and do you have any timeline for this one? Or if you just place the bet and then let it happen. I’m confident that ETH can make a new ETH is the bull run begin and if bitcoin also hit a new ATH, this might be too impossible to happen this year but who knows, so keep your faith on ETH you still have the chance to win.

I hope it does, my confident is strong but a push back yesterday put me on 30 TM.

I do if ethereum will hit the next all time high again, we can make sure if that will happen caused by the re-structurization for the ethereum protocol will give a huge impact to the price of ethereum. No more miners to dump the more ethereum again in the future will make it happen as inflation will be totally controlled.

I do hope that this is just a "friendly" bet, what I mean is that it didn't involved huge sum of money, maybe a few can of beers or something.

But regarding any useful information about ETH, we don't have any insider information, this is not a stock market wherein if you have the right connections, you can get info ahead of time. Everything here is based on the sentiments of the people. Well the launch of ETH 2.0 doesn't have that positive effect because altcoin market is still in the bear market. It might take sometime before we can see ETH  getting into the realm of a new all-time-high. Probably right after a Bitcoin bull run late 2020 to 2021.

What gave me the gutt is the launched of ETH 2.0 but it seems to have no effect on the price that much. Keeping my fingers cross!

You guys are one hell of gambler but dont worry you'll win the bet because every crypto investors and traders are so optimistic that the Ethereum market will experience huge surge in price after upcoming POS due to the benefit of less consumption of electricity, reduced centralization risks etc.

and how long the time frame of the deal?this year alone or at least in the mid of 2021?because in 2017 halving Ethereum did not make the ATH in that year but instead in the beginning of next year 2018 January.

No,,, even experts are flawed because they can only analyze data that has passed and data is always going to present to you with patterns that your mind wants to see. If all the experts sat down in one room and analyzed ETH they would have 20 predictions and maybe not one will come true. Lesson is: it is a gamble.

I don't think so, Not even the upcoming proof of staking ability can make ETH surge up to All Time High again, the only way that this could happen is all on bitcoin, its the only coin that's capable to determine the outcome of other coins, sorry what you are seeking for can only be achieved when bitcoin hit 20k again

by feeling i don't exclude a new ATH. if a rally comes up, many old known projects will be able to grow well.

If the bullish run works, if the Bitcoin price overcomes 20K USD, then Ethereum price may hit 800-900 USD, not higher than it. Where Ethereum ATH price was 1400$+! Don't know much about ETH or any other big cap because they already did a lot in past years, now it's time for low-caps such as RYO do something bigger, look at its Daily chart and fundamentals you will understand it's potential.

There's one year to see if the all-time high will be met again. I want to see it because I still hold ETH but I'm willing to wait even it will take a year or two.

All time high is just way too much, I am not denying that it looks like ethereum will reach a new high for the year and maybe beat the past 2 years records and definitely reach above the 500 dollar threshold which will be amazing, yet that doesn't change the fact that all time high is 1500 dollars or so which is really not easy to achieve at all.

Definitely, there is a chance it can break that as well, it is finances and I am sure the world would be ready for a new all time high for ethereum after their hard fork but do not be shocked if it can't reach there neither, in fact be prepared for it to not reach since that would be the unlikely option here. Maybe you should research about top coins because, without top coins, other coins won't grow much. I just research your mentioned RYO coin, no offence, that coin looks totally shit to me. Trading volume is 1200 USD, not catchy developments, the rank is far away from the good coins.

How can you bet on that because in reality you don't even have any information about ethereum, because to make a bet at least you have to know about any information there first. Nobody knows about it and indeed, something like this will be something that will be made for gambling, but they have research in advance to finally make any predictions more accurate, reach ATH or not. I only believe when the market is bullsih it's very possible the next ATH might be that from every coin there will at least reach an all time high.

Well, we don't know the true potential of ethereum, the price could reach a new ATH when the bitcoin price reaches a new ATH, especially if we look at it from the development of ETH 2.0. however, the potential is there, even if it does not reach the new ATH, high prices can still be achieved for ETH this year.

You ran the bet but you ask the information about ETH to this forum seem like it is very weird thing to see. When you have a prediction, you must to have your own analyst don't just rely on your imagination because it will defeat you later. Remember the price cryptocurrency can reverse direction quickly, I mean when you saw the price up right now then in a few minutes ahead we will see its price comeback to down even drastically. That is for short term situation but it will be happen for long term situation, indeed this situation is a good for sentiment market but we don't know that will happen it could be in a few month ahead the sentiment market is changed.

Ath in btc pair or ath in usd pair? I would think that it is hitting way more then ath un usd, but in btc that's never going to happen again.

You should give at least 5 years so you have a good winning chance about seeing ETH hitting a new ATH.

at the moment, it seems no signs at all and there's no guarantee too that the market will again be bullish as people are expecting.

Not only you but we are believing on the future update of ethereum. As long as all of the roadmap that has already planned with be running without any problem and the POS transition becomes  complete and it will actually bring ethereum price to the moon too. I just try to remind everyone if the majority of speculators will be betting on the news and rumour rather than the actual result.

With the development around ETH with it current release of ETH2.0 and more, there's a possibility it will hit ending of 2020.

Miners were dumping ETH too much POS is a sign of ETH  growth, less energy this time many will like to hold as expenses won't be much to finance masternodes and probably raspberrypi. I strongly believe ETH2.0 will let me win the bet. Keeping my Faith even stronger.

Right since Bitcoin bull run will create a good reaction to the price of top alt's and actually we already see that happen for the past years, also if ETH 2.0 will help it achieve that since the hype will slowly build up for ETH itself so let's hope for a good run by this year so that we can see majority reach for another ATH run. But let's watch the run if ETH will break at $500 level since if that achieve by ETH this year then we can say that $1500 is a good speculated price to drop.

Of course I am very sure that ethereum this year will soon touch the price of all time high as it was in 2018. If we see history back
to ethereum's performance at the end of 2017 was only around $ 300 and over a month in January 2018 ethereum surprisingly went
up to $ 1,400. So why are we hesitating for this year, because there are two big things that make me sure ethereum can go up drastically.
The first is halving bitcoin and the second is ethereum 2.0.

I don't get it. Too much POS is a sign of ETH growth? I think the problem always was that it was "too easy" to mine, and that's kind of why they moved to POS right, and among other reasons I think they just felt that the supply was a huge problem and we all know ETH is held mainly in the hands of the few. ETH 2.0 is finally getting traction so I too have hope for the ones I bought at $400;)

you are crazy men because you place a bet even you dont have specific information about eth. Unless if it really show good perfomance so that you have a chance to win in it. Agreeing that the market is having great conditions like bitcoin rising strongly and becoming a stepping stone for top altcoins like eth to go up, and not only convenient in terms of external conditions, eth's internal engine and developers also offer the latest updates, a large proportion is eth will increase prices this year. I think $1500 is achievable with ETH2.0 pushing the price gradually on a daily basis, the fall is not much now. Hoping to get on this bet.

ATH is on what most coins do target on not only ETH but somehow this one do really have potential.

ATH is possible for ETH. Alt season is near and it will happen this year. Maybe ending 2020.

if the 2.0 version will be released together in time of bitcoin Miners halving?then we may see ATH and cross the $1,500 price last january 2018.

IMO, that's not guaranteed, what if ETH 2.0 was launch last year and we know that bitcoin is not that bullish as we are expecting, I think that update would still not gonna push for ETH to rise that high. You are talking of the new ATH, the last time it reached its ATH was when Bitcoin went to $20,000, so I think we need the similar situation.

I feel that we need to look at people's responses to ethereum 2.0, if there is information about it, we can measure it from that. when the price of bitcoin was $ 20000, I thought at that time ethereum had a pair of 0.1 bitcoin for 1 ethereum, at this time ethereum was only 0.022 bitcoin, so when bitcoin price reached $ 20000, ethereum's price would not reach or approach the new ATH. however, if the development of ethereum 2.0 is very positive and makes the bitcoin pair go up, I think the new ATH can be confirmed, even more so if the price of bitcoin goes up.

Me too but i don't expect the impact will come shortly. Some ethereum developers have already stated if ethereum 2.0 may have finished next year. I'm not putting all of my hopes to the launch of ethereum 2.0.

People are focusing to the bitcoin hype. You should be patience for that and i guess that will come at the end of this year.

i think that is partially in correct mate,because from what market tells it is happen after Bitcoin reached that hype  $20,089.00 because that Hype ended before december 31 while Ethereum Hit ATH in January 13 at $1,438 so basically it is that is sort of Bitcoin effect but the hype done it by ethereum himself.

I think ETH is not that tied to BTC growth anymore. BTC is falling now but ETH remains bullish.

ETH 2.0 has a positive effect on the price growth of ETH, ATH is achievable this year maybe ending but am sure.

Mentally ETH is tied to BTC but technically it's not. The falls is cause by fear by individuals. ETH has the potential as a stand alone Crypto asset but BITCOIN has eating up the mind of Crypto communities. Let's hope this change someday.

I already got a bet running don't want to go into another. But whatever outcome i will take it in good faith but am sure ETH will attain that height this year. It's possible!

Just remember though that ETH needs to go about x6 or 7 now just to make an all time high,,, and it was super tough enough already to get this far for it and for all altcoins. Bitcoin is only 50% from its ATH now so the lesson here is always not to have most of your money in altcoins.

Sure am not actually. ETH can outperform or underperform any which way is okay.

that principle applies to all crypto assets on the market. get better and continue to grow as new projects do. can also go down and up again like old projects that are already on the market and have a strong market. even bitcoin is dynamic and we can't control it.

Cryptocurrency markets are most volatile which makes them move from the bottom to peak in no time. There also are some major price changes each day faced by each of the coins. Even ETH has volatile price which is currently moving on the upper trend. We could expect a pump in ETH soon considering the current graph movement.

Still, some strategies like bollinger bands is showing that there would be positive growth in terms of long term trading. Etherum might even cross $300 soon which would than start the journey to All Time High price and it would also make OP win the bet. As predicted, there has been a recent rise in price. This is also predicted to continue on into next year. There is a very good chance we'll see a new all time high on ETH again. With the Bitcoin halving coming up, what looks to be a big bull run, and the ETH updates, I think it's a no brainer that we'll hit a new all time high.

The 1 billion dollar Defi milestone is a big success for ethereum and the recovery of bitcoin value is attractive for liquidity now. If more progress continues we could see more breakthrough. I also believe the ethereum team are more experienced than before , larger community and security, they got improved use cases and more effort will now be put into tokenomics as the second leading coin in the space.

ethereum price increases are really very much later, even more so at this time. I believe ETH  will give us more than 2017 profit, the movement is slow and steady. ETH2.0 is what we are waiting for and also BITCOIN halving will have effect on alts growth.

As of now, the price of ETH is becoming very stable and has a strong ability to increase its price when we see ETH 2.0 release. From the past 2018, when we are seeing the price of ETH is struggling a lot, now the market seems to be in a complete bullish which altcoin season has started.

I don't think it is a complete bullish, now the market is down again because bitcoin was down below $10,000 after it stepped in for awhile.
There is nothing special with ETH's movement, it's just because of the good movement of BTC that's why it follows and that's the same trend that other major altcoins followed, the ETH 2.0 might be a difference maker.

Nobody can ensure whether your bet will won or not because crypto price movement was very unpredictable including Eth price and although lately Eth one of the altcoin which the price step by step increase but don't mean during this year Eth will bullish however ATH price for Eth so far $1432 and it was happened on 2018 January and i also curious the highest price of Eth in this year

VERY difficult. Right now, we are not even at 20% of the ATH price and it has really struggled for a long time,,, needing 70% gains to reach the stage today so the critical point at every new 100 dollar mark is what concerns us. Let us focus on that and forget ATH for now,,, let it come when it comes!

It doesn't matter if ethereum will hit all time high, what matters is if ethereum will get a positive injection or not. Maybe price will not be affected right away after the forks and all that, but in general as long as people do not mind it and people think its a good one, there is no problem and the price will slowly go up eventually even if not right away.

What I am trying to say is that, as long as developments are liked, price can stay the same in the first months or even a year, because if developments are liked, it will go up slowly in years, faster than it would have otherwise. That is what matters in 2020, whats going to happen to ethereum this year (or early next year) will decide the next 5 to 10 years of ethereums future as well, that is why its so important.

Ill think no one can be sure on when etherium will take to a high price again, But as of now it was good for us also that would be etherium are still in $200 than back to $100. Will all suffer to hold our etherium to sell it to a high price, And Ill think for now this will be a chance to sell it or buy more etherium because someone said in this forum etherium be get to $300.

it's better to hold on to your ethereum first because I see that ethereum has increased %11 it's likely to continue to rise for a few days maybe you can monitor and wait until the price is better than now

Ethereum has been under-priced for quite a while now. And as bitcoin rose recently, that obviously dropped the ETH price vs BTC even further. Eventually it had to reach a point where ETH became so much of a bargain that people started buying in... which has now happened.
And as we know, once people start buying a certain coin, it is very easy for the momentum to build and the coin to continue going up in price, which, again, is what we're seeing now.

As to what a reasonable value of ETH should be vs BTC, no-one knows, that's up to the markets to decide.
But to answer the question of whether ETH will hit a new ATH, yes, I think it will, just maybe not for a couple of years. It's unlikely this current rally will take it back over $1k.

Exactly, we should always wait for the recovery of ETH because most of the people who have strong faith towards ETH has waited till now. As of now, the market movement seems to be matured and it will help to continue till Bitcoin halving. Instead of expecting a high price for ETH, it is good to wait for the long term.

The market is green so for sure this time there will be a lot of bullish coins. I think Ethereum is one of the coins that is well worth the long-term investment because the $500 price can absolutely happen at any time. In addition, this is also an investment option that makes me feel most secure because there will be a lot of news related to this coin and it will definitely help a lot of investors to earn good profits.

More bullish price will come this year, it's still 2 months and we already see a good price increase of ETH.
For less than 2 months, ETH already almost double its value and we should be more bullish in our own so we will never get tired expecting for another rise.
For now, it looks like the market is back to normal although we still need more push for ETH to at least back at a good price but what the market showed is a positive sign.

Im not a negative thinker but I prefer to rely on charts. The prices of coins is certainly increasing and the marketcap seems going back to a healthier version of post bull run scenario but always be safe and dont expect much. Maybe it is just a bull trap set by whales and just luring us to FOMO and eventually will ambush us with direct dive later one. Hoping this is natural and not a pure manipulation.

That's a possibility, no one really knows what's going to be the price going forward but you don't be affected even if its' a bull trap if you are willing and strong to hold until ETH will reach its new ATH. If you feel you like to cash out now, then you can do so as the price has already significantly increase now.

I think ETH will be very difficult to reach new ATH and certainly this coin is still very risky if you choose to invest during this period.
