Hello guys, back in 2017, during the heavy bull run, I visited my former office and meant some friends and told them the need to key into bitcoin. One who is now occupying my former position at the bank interjected and said "someone just left here to to lay complain how he paid a huge some of money to a bitcoin seller who then scammed him", bitcoin was never paid by the scammer. I asked them to send the person to me for a free tutorial on bitcoin and how to safely buy and store it, I never hear from them again till date. The victim had try to bitcoin because he heard he will double his investment in a week, I told them that is not how it work.

After getting and reading repeated complain of how persons are been scammed in my country while trying to buy bitcoin, I decided to make 4 banners on how to learn how to safely buy/sell bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, and to address the wrong notion about cryptocurrency. I got some calls and follow ups. But most are not interested in buying and holding but want to give me money and be giving them a weekly or monthly returns on investment, when I tell them that is not how it actually works, they will reply they have found a program online that pays some weekly % ROI, I try to stop them from putting their money there, they either stop picking my calls or tell them they are okay with their findings.

I am just weak and heart broken how people are lazy to attend class that will open their mind and eyes to existing realities and set them free from lifetime mistakes. I am dazed by their foolishness in the issue of finance. My banners and office is still open but won't force anyone to learn.  I hope they don't learn the hard way.

Sounds way cooler when you imagine something too good to be true. I'm not sure how you've been able to gather only these silly kind of people, but they'll either learn the hard way or they'll give up.

They're like wealth chasers so they most likely believe Bitcoin is a wealth generator. Unless they wake up to reality, even if they leave BTC they'll probably just keep living a more miserable life and try out the next pyramid scheme that's gonna pop up.

So yeah, they need a strong shake so they can realize what they're trying to do is non-achievable.

Scam comes in different shapes and forms but there are some simple ways to prevent them.
Firstly secure your funds, use good passwords and 2FA wherever possible. Don't copy paste or screenshot your keys or phrase and keep them on same device or on the cloud.
Don't make quick decision, look over for every of your investment more than twice. Something that looks promising might not look the same tomorrow.

Today we want to earn more money and profit and one of the thing we need is to find a job or a project that is related to the crypto currency so we can relate to the topic. Some of us look at the good offer, price and profit we can earn. With the use of good marketing and advertisement today we can now find a good job but still there are some scam projects that telling they are the best and paying so they can got a lot of users just to promote but still we cannot tell what will happen next if they are still legit and authentic project.

It is very difficult not to fall into the hands of scammers because scammers make promises that not exist in the real world. There was a year where there were scam exchanges that promised the following:

The person gave $100 in Perfect Money and received $150 in bitcoin

The person would give $100 in perfect Money and receive $150 in payeer

People fell into this type of scam because they wanted to have more money and did not ask themselves where the exchange owner would get money to do these kinds of things.

A lot of people will never ever escape from falling into scams because their attitude itself is attracting them. Why are scams still thriving until these modern times? Because:

• A lot of people are lazy.
• Unfortunately, these lazy people have the dream of getting rich.
• And they don't want riches to come in staggered amounts. They want them one-time big-time very quickly.
• And these lazy and ambitious people won't lift a finger to know what they are getting into for as long as it promises them a chance, however slim, of achieving their dreams.

Charles Ponzi was notoriously using the infamous Ponzi scheme in defrauding these kinds of people in the 1920s.^[1] My goodness! We are already in the year 2020, a full century later, and the scheme is still thriving in so many parts of the world and sucking billions off from people.

Do you think this will eventually perish? I don't think so. For as long as many humans are crazily lazy and ambitious, this form of scam and its varieties will continue to find victims.

this is not a bitcoin specific thing though. for as long as humanity existed there have been gullible people and there have been scammers who use their gullibility to make money from them. the form of it and the "medium" they use changes but the principles are the same and will remain the same. unfortunately there isn't much others could do about it either. we can only keep informing them and fight the scammers by publicizing their scam, reporting them to authorities, closing their websites,....

As long as people are wanting to earn, they will still fall to these ploys.

In our country, people left and right is still falling to these scams. I know that they want to earn themselves a profit they deserve but they also need to be aware of it. There are those people that will be taking advantage of their innocent minds in earning money. A scam is so popular in our country that even if it did not include money, people still fall for them. For example, a text will be received saying that their son/daughter is in the hospital and needed a load so that they can call other of his relatives for help. My grandmother fell for that thinking that my father is in the hospital knowing she is just scammed. Scammers are smart, that is why people should be smarter.

Sad to say but it's true,
As long as they are blinded by their greed and being played by the right cards then people would surely never stop from falling in scams.
People fall into it because of their own greed and foolishness.

It is a bitcoin thing tho since we are inside a forum that talks about everything that is happening is crypto-space. 'Scam' has been become the very correct term when blinded online, then we used to call it 'Fraud' before the internet is invented. Principles are technically similar, they are both blinding their victims with much opportunity however these things are not only for stealing money or any type of currency coz some are aiming for personal information and documents. What is inevitable is the gullible people or those who cannot detect the danger of scam because of the possible positive outcome.


I must agree we cannot do much for the others but to let them know what to avoid perhaps they are going to be scammed. The only BUT we can do is the legality like seeking for authorities help to track and locate the criminals. Well publicizing isn't that effective for me, even using a platform that has a millions of users like Facebook or Twitter coz accounts can be easily made and protect the publicize posts.

It's going to be a continuous cat and mouse game in crypto sphere, there are people here that is going to fall for this scammers, one way or another to learn their lessons. I myself fall early in 2017 to a bitcoin doubler program. So it newbie investors just throw out their money in bitcoin and thinks that they are going to earn 100% in short amount of time, then they didn't do their homework. And as long are there are people like that, scammers will just reinvent themselves over and over again to victimised those kind of people.

Unfortunately the government system makes them loose so much money plus all the taxes and the job opportunities , it sucks trust me how a middle man is living in this world is totally messed up.
People like sheep's are just doing what the corporate wants them to do and they are literally not reaching anywhere , so when opportunities like this arise , like lotteries and all they try and grab it.
But they should understand that

If something is too good to be true then stay away from it. .

I don't even think we can blame them entirely for this.

It just means that sometimes they're also the reason why they end up losing their assets as a result of scams. They just let their covetousness to assume responsibility for their perspective that is the reason why they don't dissect their choices before making a certain action. They don't think the potential results of their choice since they are just intrigued about the potential advantages they may get. They don't even attempt to do their own investigation to decide whether it will be worth it and profitable or it is simply another approach by a fraudster.

Sorry about those countrymen of yours that doesn't want to understand it properly. The same as what I've been seeing in my country but I'm doing my best to educate if I find someone who misunderstands it.

I guess many of those people in your country really misunderstands what bitcoin is. And they don't want to learn about how exactly the purpose of bitcoin and those generating weekly interest are total scams.

Yes we could because each and everyone of us could make some improvements.
I heard something once and it really hit me hard "if you are born poor it is not your mistake, But if you die poor it's your mistake."
There are always a way to earn more we just need to be creative.

It's their fault already if they keep on getting scammed because they won't listen. You're already there trying to help them yet they're being so hard headed and keep on deciding on their own even though they don't know much. It's their loss after all. Scammers will always be there so educating others especially newbies will help them learn to avoid scammers yet if they don't want to be taught, then it's their fault.

People tend to be too lazy to learn about Bitcoin in a proper way and they won't keep complaining of being scammed. They love the get rich quick syndrome (the Ponzi pattern) and if they want people who will bait them to dupe them, they will definitely see. They believe in just giving their money out to traders and come back month end for double. Many of them meet their Waterloo after the 2017 bull run, when the traders could not meet up with their payments again. Even the trader does not want to be at the loosing end and will therefore have no better choice than to run away with their money.

Way back before, the scammers are quite having the huge advantage because most of the system is quite simple. They could just use different phishing sites and just target almost everyone. But in comparison to what we have for today. The scammers are quite reduced because of the regulations that we currently have for many sites. This leads to a conclusion that we have more chance of today, to avoid scams with the help of systems. And this means that, if we get scam by someone, technically, it could be considered as a human error and mistrust to someone we don't really know.

Being lazy is one of the problem of other investors that is why most of them will easily fall to the hand of the scammers. This newbie investors are also greedy aside from being lazy as they want to earn a weekly or monthly ROI with their investments without using a single effort.

So the scammers are using this opportunity to grab their money in return of nothing, I wonder why most them still didn't learn their lessons. If they just put a little effort by studying how crypto or bitcoin works then they can easily choose what type of investment that they should choose and they can easily avoid those cheap scammers.

There is some reason behind how peoples are getting scam like greed, knowledge, lazy and so on. Due to lack of proper knowledge there is chances to get scam. Its quite important to know how work crypto-currency. And most importantly greedy behaviour is the main reason behind most of scam. Most of investment site doesn't serve longer. That's how most of investors get scam. Also they are even lazy to think and deep investigate. Like if you are going to buy bitcoin from someone in your local country then you should know how trustworthy that person. But when bad luck come to us, usually we forget all these things and eventually got scam.

We can't blame some people who are lazy on attending class about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Sad to say that, many people still fall on this kind of scam and we're all aware that there is no instant money (or else if you're going to play gambling) if you're going to invest in bitcoin. Most of the people today are greedy to earn money that's why it is a reason why they also fall on different scam and for the sake of our money, it's our responsible on making research on this kind of investment. In fact, it is not easy to earn money as you think and before they can earn profit they already lose a money. We should put an effort on studying cryptocurrency and time to know on how it totally works.

I already witness some of fellowmen in my country that fall on this kind of scam which they will gonna double your money in just a week and even it is quite possible still not advisable especially if you don't know the person where you gonna send your money. Be wise, Be responsible if you really don't want to end up losing huge amount of money.

Maybe people in out there think bitcoin is like the other investment, which they will get a return in some period. If they can learn more about bitcoin, they will find out that bitcoin is not the same as what they think, and if they want to make a profit from bitcoin, they need to trade or hold it for some time. They can buy and sell bitcoin at some level price and sell bitcoin at a higher price, or if they cannot understand how to trade, they can buy bitcoin at a low price and hold it until bitcoin price can increase.

But many people don't want to learn, and they want to make a profit in a short time without making anything. They think that their money will bigger in a short time, but if they don't do anything, they will not make any profit.

it will be the hard way mate, since people not using their brain enough to see the truth. Delusional maybe since they think they want to double or more their investment on a fast lane. But they didn't see the result will be darker than they thought before, simpleton people whos think they all know the best but never had to hear others says. They lucky to meet guys like u who tell the right from wrong, hopefully, your journey never stops at this point and keeps forward to make people safe.

ive been scammed once but that was the time that i was still weak and not intelligent enough but after those many years that past  . i already learn alot   . now i never get experienced to get scammed  . but who on this earth never experienced to got scammed ?   being strong and smart is not carried when your just a kid but its being learned  .  it does not mean that when a person got scammed it will always be scammed forever because that isnt just right but there are people that got  scammed many times

Newbies will always be there therefore, scam will always be there too ;). That's the reality.

Since there are new investors, they don't know anything about investments. The problem is that, most of these newbies are lazy and don't want to do some research first but they will just throw their money into an investment and if they are scammed, they will be angry and will post anything in the social media like "They've got scammed" and the like.

If newbies are researching first before throwing money, the chances of being scammed will be reduced. TBH, I didn't experienced getting scammed ever since I joined in crypto world. This is because I tried to research first and created my own basis and red flags before investing. I hope that most of the newbies will do what I did too in the past.

Once you got scammed, you will never fall on the same trap again. I do trust people before when it comes to investing buy right now I learned the best lesson in an expensive way. Newbies are prone to this and if they fall on this they should not stop investing and instead learn from their experience. Scammers are doing their best, and investors should know the importance of their security, and always keep in your mind to save your keys on a safe place.

This means experience is the best way on how to learned in some scam activities or to be able to avoid of being scam because they say that if you have been ever to fall on the scam for the first time then probably it would be hard to fall again on the same scam on the second time around so I say that it would be really unreliable if you will fall again the second time around that you will be encounter the same scam activities. That's why you are saying that you learned a lot on the best expensive way of learning that you can have.

That is the major problem of newbies,

The first thing that comes to their mind when it comes to bitcoin is how easy they can have their return of investment, this is also the main reason why they most likely the victim of scam.

This is something that will never be removed, as long as there is a newbie, expect that there is a scammer that will try everything to victimize that newbie.

You can also learn from the experience of others, Reading some feedback and experiences about the service or schemes that you are going in. Being aware of the symptoms of the possible scam schemes will make yourself defensive at your position of being the possible victim.

Of course, new way of scamming is invented every day that's why every one of us need to be cautious with our surroundings and the person that you are dealing with.

Prevention is better than cure anyways, It's hard to recover the losses but you can avoid it.

That's true but the thing is how they will be able to avoid those scammers in order not to be victim of it? The best way to do is to just do proper research and don't be too greedy in terms of money although we all know that we are all here for one reason only and that is money but come to think of it, there will be no victim of scam if the people will be more educated and the people is more knowledgeable than the others so that they will not be able to fool by someone else.

Most people want to make money and become rich sitting on a coach at home. That's why "how to make 100% profit in hour" adds will always be attractive for them. Different Ponzi schemes have been used since the 1920s.

Is this really true what you are saying or just trying to make up a story? If its true, then wow, you are doing a great job to make people aware of bitcoin and keep them safe from getting scammed. If they don't listen to you, then there is nothing much they can do. Let them join the HYIP and pyramid schemes. Once they get scammed for a good amount, they will come to their sense. At least by then they will have learned their lesson. You tried, that is only what matters in the end!

I empathize with you.  People are so quick to pull out their funds when they know that they will receive an ROI in the shortest period of time but too slow to assess if their action will bring them disaster.  Ignorance, greed, laziness, trust, curiosity, stubbornness and impatience, are the characteristics these scammers exploit.  

I also experienced the same thing with one of my friends, I already advised them to keep their investment to a minimum, even though they never listened to my initial advice that the one they are investing is a scam.  But due to their greediness and trust to the one who recruited them, they investment ballooned to more than $50k and now they asked me what they should do to get their funds back because they never had any encashment after two years of investment, all their profit are on their Dashboard but unavailable for withdrawal.  I told them that there is nothing I can do but advised them to get a lawyer for their issue.

I think this friend of mine learned it the hard way.

People are always looking for a quick way of earning money. And this is the reason why they will always fall for all form of scam. Almost 90% of High yield investment program have turned to using crypto as a payment processor with the major aim of stealing from the masses. Many of this scheme that offer high Return on investment can be addictive just like betting. Have you ever wonder why someone who has been scammed is still participating in such scam. The reason is simple, it is addiction. You think you can be smarter than those theives that started the scheme

Give me one place that I can get an instant profit thought it, is there any? I'm sure there is no one place that could get profit moreover a huge profit in an instant way. They should remember it and even they should known it before they start to spend money.

Here, I could say that in 2017 ago when there was many people who got scammed because their knowledge not because of bitcoin.

Simple put, if bitcoin was stamped as scammer place then you wouldn't be seen the people here or the people who got a lot of rich through bitcoin. Bitcoin is same with another investment place, such as stock exchange, property even gold (I can equated it right now).

I don't think that scammers are reduced because based on the reports, scammers are multiplying as beginners are also increasing. It is not easy to prevent being scammed most especially when scammers are experienced and professional. It is not good also to just let our fellow newbie trader to become always a victim ot those scams so we should give them advice that will improve their security in trading. Avoiding human error is a must but it should be lessen and focused on the security of his transactions. Most especially, technology are really advanced and it is hard to stop them for doing the same thing over and over again.

One does not need to be very smart but only needs to know the basic and methods these scammers use and never let their greed to engulf them.  

Those who were scammed that still participate in this kind of scheme are the ones who does not actually lose money, instead, they profited from it.  They are the first one to join this kind of scam and gets profit from their referral.  Any sane person will never do anything that will only bring them loses unless they experienced a good profit from it.  Meaning, those who are end of the line of these scams will never join this kind of scheme again, but those who got a huge profit will always do.

Oh yeah, so far as they are not ready to learn and they are also not willing to work hard towards making their own money this is exactly what is going to happen. Growing up in this industry i have also fallen a victim to these scams but i learnt my lessons and have been good all this while.

Why would you offer 0.1BTC to someone who claims he can give you 3BTC lol

now many are like that and many more HYIPs circulating within 24 hours can get a profit of 500% that's just a hoax because at the moment there are a lot of new traders who don't have much experience being fooled by HYIPs and project scams, there must be information for new traders so avoid cases like that.

people have a natural protection, its called believing rumors,

jews have a perfect honest image thats why americans trust them with everything also the money and increasingly also the europeans

People are the victims of scams when think they will make more money in an easy way. But it turns out to be the biggest mistake of them all. I have seen many scam victims. All have one mistake, they could not control their greed. Scammers design everything in a way that greedy people trust them. And they send their hard earn money to scammer. If they do a little verification they can stay away from such scams.

If they doesn't want to take free lessons then let them to learn by paying a huge fee. :D

One who want to invest on something need to get thorough knowledge about its function and usability or they will fall for scams which is not common with cryptos almost every kind of investment have scam traps for these kind of lazy shits.

Yes, people need to understand that easy and quick money just means scam and it's the greed and foolishness which will always keep the people tangled in scammy projects. We need to create an awareness channel and active thread in order to avoid people from falling into the trap. I believe it's our responsibility to save the fragile community.

Actually it is not foolishness, but a native trait of the human psychology to become complacent and preserve our energies. Instinctively we just need food,water and shelter. After we have achieved that we need a surplus of motivation and will to get out of our so-called "confort zones" and achieve what we propose. Yet there are few people who actually do that. Ever wondered why the world wealth is so concentrated?

In your case people are more likely to give their money to a stranger than to LEARN and UNDERSTAND the technology. Most of us are looking for ways to increase our income and decrease the resources spent for that, but that's not how it works, right..

Obviously, such investment is the wrong way and no one will really give you %ROI in just a week and obviously, they don't know how it works because to make money in this market is not like that. Past experience made me learn a lot about the many scam developers out there that would make many lay people trapped in a scam. Use your brain to still get a healthier and wiser mindset, because just spending money isn't right if you want a quick return on your investment.

It's pretty disheartening to see your friends and colleagues doing what you think to be opposite in life, this will always call for concerns towards them. As rightly said, many of them wouldn't like to listen to the sincere type nor listen to their friends than those scammers out there. Due to human nature, greediness is always a concern to human when money is involve and in this case we are talking about doubling investment money. To OP, if they have ears and eyes let them hear and see with them.

I've seen people like that. They don't want to learn, they just want the finished product.

I've been helping people with their computers. They wanted various stuff done like uninstalling stuck software, cleaning malware, registry, hardware setups like installing a new hard drive, bios updates. Every time I did that I invited them to watch and learn so they're able to do it without help but they usually answered "here's the money, you do it, I don't have time for it".

People who are lazy and greedy will always lose money. The problem is that most people are lazy and greedy.

I salute the OP to be very concerned about the views and the way people around them understand what BTC is. The wrong investment view makes it easy for many people to get caught up in fraud with the lure of a few percent profit and a period of time, it's like bullshit, bitcoin is very volatile and its movements are quite difficult to predict.
This is the importance of having an awareness to learn before investing, if you are not familiar with what you are going to invest, then it is a fatal mistake. This stupid thinking "Double your money in just a few days" is the reason why people keep falling into scammers. This can't be eliminated hence people are also not changing their minds. Scammers have a different approach compared before, most likely they offer huge rewards, make double or triple your money, but for now...they are getting smarter and even experts can't think that way of scam. You only just surprise that your money is already gone.

That was a sad reality and makes a reason why some of us never have an interest in crypto for knowing these circumstances and the high risk evolve in crypto.

Where there is currency,  there are scammers lurking around to trap those who are stupid,  greedy and lazy thinking that money just comes out of think Air.
Even one of the oldest form of currency (Gold) has scam around it. So let them  keep having a poor mindset yet you keep progressing.  

The reason why there are a lot of people who find bitcoin an easy way to scam other people is that there are a lot of people who are not fully aware of how bitcoin works and how to securely buy and store bitcoin. Not to mention the misconception of bitcoin is an easy way to earn money and it can make you rich overnight.

Sufficient knowledge about bitcoin investment will keep you away from being scammed. Sad to say, people are naturally greedy, that is why even how many years had passed still a lot of people are still falling as a victim from different kind of scams.

Scam is not only happening online there are many people has been victim also using fiat.
The main reasons why there are many scammers because they are also many people supporting scam just to earn money.
They invite people to join even they do not have any knowledge about the program they want to invest its about greed and want to earn easy money.
As long as there are people want to earn easy money there are still new program that will open and find another victim.

Scammers knows how to work well and they continue tricking those people who wanted to get an easy access to gain profits. Promising so much by giving sweet promises. If you will just invest blindly the chance of losing your money is always there from their hands.
Be wise and active not to fall to any scheme like this from scammers hands.

Indeed, we will always be easily tricked by investments like that, especially now for HYIP with more and more bitcoin payments and making profits up to hundreds of percent in just 1 day, we really need to pay attention not to be easily fooled because it is not easy to be able to double money up to hundreds of percent in only a short time.

Many people wants to earn money as fast as possible hence its easy for them to bite an offer who promise to give them profit in a short period of time.

Well we cant do anything about this because its their decision, if a person is not open to learn about crypto and the only concern is to earn then let them be.

Sometimes its better to experience committing mistakes before realizing what should not be done and learn from it after.

One of my friend name Emranhostat was a victim of fraud. One day an unknown girl sent a message from her Twitter to Emranhostat.

The message goes like:

The girl continued talking to my friend for a few days and able to convince my friend. At one point, my friend agreed to withdraw her bitcoin. The girl gave him a website link as well as she gave email and password too. Emranhostat entered the website and found it to be similar to the other Exchange site, he tried to login with email & password and successfully able to login. He found that there was 0.5 btc in holding.

But, when he tried to withdraw the fund, a popup window comes up and says due to inactivity the withdrawal option is currently frozen. Please make a deposit of 0.002 btc then the withdrawal option will be active again. My friend thought if he makes a deposit of 0.002 btc and able to withdraw the girl's fund then he will get 0.25 btc in return.

He felt greedy, when he did a 0.002 btc deposit after a few minutes the exchange site went server down and the girl blocked him too.
Finally, he lost his 0.002 btc...

People will never stop falling for scam for as long as they are ignorant, negligent and remain uneducated. Another reason I think that leads to falling for scams is the general concern of people of missing out on opportunities. And where such an deal is only for a limited time then this limitation would make people more likely to be drawn to it and grab it without thinking twice and assessing the validity of an investment offer. Nonetheless, I also agree that some people won't learn until they had it through the hard way.

That's what I regret, although they don't have to go to cryptocurrency classes or seminars, at least they learn first what will be invested. So it's not easy to just accept an investment offer that promises to be multiplied many times in one week or one month. Come on be smarter, nothing is instant, moreover, cryptocurrency is very dynamic. If they understand the basic characteristics of cryptocurrency, surely people who have never tried it will surely think twice before investing their money, especially in people who are new to them in cyberspace.
This is the importance of educating people around you, cryptocurrency can be beneficial and vice versa, it all depends on how we respond to it.

I also experienced this kind of situation,
I know people who know bitcoin as an easy money when you invest, even how many times I told them that this is not how bitcoin works, they still insist that this is how they learned on a certain website. I repeatedly explained to them that bitcoin is not some kind of investment that will double their money for a week or a month.
Even after I told them not to try those kind of investment, they don't listen as they are really after for an instant money.

I understand where you are coming from. We can't please everybody. To think that they are interested at first but they want to gain easily I mean in a fastest way. Reality is that yeah they are lazy to attend seminars but they are eager to    gain. How is that possible? Investing bitcoin needs patience and other don"t understand how it really works as a store value, etc.

People will just get interested if they see some proofs about bitcoin then after, they will gonna invest but the truth is they are not ready for the risks.

Stupid and lazy people will always lose their money in the end.That's how capitalism works. :'(
The situation you are describing was back in 2017.Back then,people were way too ignorant and naive about the cryptocurrency world and all the ICO,HYIP,ponzi,MLM scams were flourishing.
I hope that,at least a part of the people,who were scammed back then didn't give up and tried to learn and gain experience about using bitcoin/altcoins, crypto trading,etc.

I think you're mixing things up, hacking is quite different from scamming, scamming is a process of been convinced to do something or pay someone which eventually turns out to be false as oppose to hacking which requires one to secure their online private property or investment which in this case requires the individual to input details like 2FA and the rest in other to stay safe safe, scamming is more of a greed thing, that's why many fall for it

A lot of scams awareness online and yet, some people just ignore this. May the problem is not the scammers but maybe because we are allowing them to do so and collect our hard work money easily. Some of us feed them that is why they can't be stopped even the others do.

And hopefully, they could learn many things from that. It eventually fueling scammers to scammed people if we still think of easy money and quick returns which are usually be heard from scammers. Though we can't eliminate them (scammers) totally but at least we will do something that could take them down and be starving.

You are absolutely right, some people really too greedy, so they won't stop falling on scam ever. They want to earn huge money within a short time so they keep looking hype site, invest there and keep sharing their scam referral link to earn more. I feel they are very dishonest people who share scam links to earn more rewards! Whoever offers you a quick profit in a short period, they will end up by scamming you, this is simple and most of the people knows it, but still, those greedy people keep investing in those scammy sites to test their luck and when they fall, they start blaming others! You did your job well, now if they still want to fall in that scam, let them! Don't tell them bitcoin is a very good investment, try to teach the tech first, otherwise very soon they will blame the bitcoin too.

Scammers are pretty smart on convincing people, maybe they'll start by saying, bitcoin when started was $1 and look at the price now, so that alone would already attract people with no enough knowledge about bitcoin but as usual later they'll regret and understand, and worst if they still failed to understand despite making a mistake by falling to the scams.

So, as a solution to this, we need to further expand our knowledge to somehow have the capability to detect them and to probably avoid them at any case.


For them to learn their lesson, we need to turn scam occurrence to nearly 0 percentage where they could not earn even a single penny by scamming people and this could be achieved by utilizing tools we have now, mainly built for security. And lastly, considering to be personally responsible for the decisions that we make especially when talking to people we didn't know.

Scam has been around for so long as long as there are greedy people who would do risk anything in order to gain what they want then for sure scam wouldn't end.
If there isn't someone who would fall to their trick then scammer would surely get tired and stop or look for other things to earn money.

If you are a newbie, it is ok if you will fall into this kind of scam because you are just new to this kind of investment but as a newbie you must know too that you shouldn't invest into something you don't know. As a newbie, it would be better if you do some research first before investing.

On the other hand, a lazy investor is someone who got scammed already but didn't learn from his mistakes and remains a lazy one. Don't want to do some research and choose to just invest into something he doesn't even understand. This is a wrong mindset. As an investor, if you really want to get profit you must learn from your mistakes and at the same time get information that will help you.

Yes, they never learn from other people mistake, and they never learn how to prevent the scam. They only follow what other people suggest without searching for other news. If they can do that, they will be able to avoid the scam, and even they will have more information, and they can be able to improve their knowledge in cryptocurrency. If new people actively searched for more information, they can protect themselves from scams, and they can also know what they need to do. It requires time before we know if the project will be a scam or not and only with researching from many sources that can help us to know to avoid the scam.

If you’re trying to help someone on not getting scammed and they refuse to listen to you, there is no need to stress yourself by begging them. You have done your best part by telling them everything they need to know about it and if they refuse to listen and decide to still go for the wrong thing they are doing then it is up to them and they can go ahead to lose their money, I believe experience will be the best teacher for such foolish people that never wants to listen to the advice that they are being given.

I have come across such people and I tell them they are about to do the wrong thing and they still insist that they will do it because they feel it is too good and will be true. So leave them. Because we are having lots of responsibilities in our life and just following them is not our high priority work. They are being very clever to pull out some schemes to lure out some investors.
We have seen it here in crypto industrythey started at HYIP, Pyramid Scheme's then when ICO's bloom they also open up their own scam projects,
They would do anything go with the trend and do what they could to make it look's realistic.

Yep, we are all aware of the scamming tactics but scammers do their plan B in order to succeed with their plans. Ain't wondering why still there are people been caught into this scamming scheme is because they are also not changing their minds. Lack of knowledge still evident in the market and most newcomers are the victims of this.

It was a sad note that they just suffer big losses at their first step but we can't decline this scenario especially when we don't listen to other's advice and not even doing simple research. That is actually their fault and scammers will hunt those people that could easily be trick.

That's one of the biggest problem with the investors, they are too lazy to inform their selves on how they can evade scams. If only they are going to make sure that every transaction they make are safe through carefully observing the person involved in it or whenever they are joining campaigns, they read the whitepaper thoroughly and check the background of the team involved, then we wouldn't have anyone getting scammed. At the same time, the number of scammers would decrease as they fail to steal other people's money.

We do hope that they shouldnt really go to that path but just let them be because learning will comes next when they do experience loss of money.

This is not really surprising, you must understand that most people do not really want to learn how to manage their money, they know that will be a lot of work so they are always trying to find someone they can delegate their money and just obtain some monthly profits but the markets do not move like that, just look at bitcoin and the year of 2018 which was so negative, anyone that earned any amount of money during that time frame is a really good trader since the markets conditions were awful at that time and expecting any kind of monthly return was ridiculous under those conditions, but people simply do not get it and they will keep being scammed since scammers can make any promises they like since they have no intention to fulfil them.

This is because we can create the most secure systems, but the main vulnerability will always be the user. And social engineering is the most used tool by hackers nowadays. The techniques are growing faster than security. That's why we have to be really careful with any business we do online.

So, if people will never stop falling for scams, we will see more scams in the future.

The worst reality is that people have accepted Bitcoin as their next best get-rich-quick scheme where they will invest their money and double it a day after. I don't understand why they don't get a simple fix done to their mind that there can't be any thing so easily gained, and we need to work hard to achieve what we expect from our life. They choose not to look into how things work, they choose not to understand that in this world nowadays, almost every thing is full of scams and nobody can be trusted so easily and when they get scammed, they complain. They should not do it if they don't have the time to learn about what they are going to buy exactly because without complete knowledge, even I will not let my grandson buy an Apple stock.

Yup, I found the same thing with some Venezuelan dude here in France, he told me he's always been interested in "investing" and asked me how much money I could give him back daily/weekly. I tried explaining that's not how any of it works but he didn't give a fuck. Not to say nationality was a issue, people are just lazy in general.

What I see in all those scams around the cryptoshere  is greediness, I could still remember when i in was still new to bitcoin, my aims was to become rich without the knowledge of Bitcoin and it technology. This landed me into a serious scam in 2017, when I was scammed €1000 approximately. From there after I learned how to eventually carryout a simple research before  investing into any project, many investors are too lazy to read in between lines of  these projects offered. Let's be wise to avoid  these arant scam.

Well, that what it makes skeptical for people to put their trust on. Most of the scams, just like what you mentioned is way too good to be true, easy money with an easy task with an unfamiliar way of earning it is always a scam, in my opinion. Sugarcoated words make those scams so irresistible for those people who are after the profits in a very easy way of earning it.

We can't call them lazy though, the right term is that they are demotivated for doing works that give them real money without them losing any amount of money in their wallet. The only key to avoid scams is to be more aware by researching stuff about such things or asking people about it first if it is trully legit.

I'd think that this is a normal scenario and many people would still fall into the hands of scammers because of their wrong beliefs. It absolutely scammers won't stop their doings until there is no person could become their victim but it is quite happening again and again. And the awareness that we've given to the community seems to be not really effective and still could be ignored sometimes.

The people who don't really care about advice commonly come from beginners. I've been approached severally with questions like,  if i invest so so amount in bitcoin how much will i realized in a months time and I'll be like hey brother,  it doesn't work that way, and one thing i noticed is that if you ain't telling them what they actually wanted to hear,  you will see disinterest of your advice well written on their faces.

depends on the people and on his/her advice  . if you dont know the person why you will trust them and you dont also know if they are only saying a lie  .

newbies will mainly believe on others because they arent confident of thier decision but its not good all the time in my opinion  . veterans and pro wont depend on other because they have adequate knowledge   .  id rather do research own my own because i know to my self that i can do what others can do .

They prefer to seat and have their monthly returns paid to them without putting any effort, maybe you should advise them to join masternode investment since they are not interested in doing things on their own, that will be a good alternative, i hope this people don't give money to the wrong hands.

I thought they were just in too much of a hurry. sometimes they see the opportunity before their eyes, but they do not realize that it is a very detrimental thing. at this time so many people who make projects trap others involved in scams, if we are lazy to read and find information about the project that we will invest, then we will be easy to be exposed to scams. Most investors do not know what they are investing in, which is the reason why they are vulnerable to scams.

Maybe they don't research on what project they should invest because they hear from other people that say the project "A" is good to invest for a short term and long term. If that is the case, they will get the same experience because they will not try to find out more about the projects, and they only follow what other people suggest. I have been to a lot of ICO's before, but I didn't considered myself as scammed before, but there are just some good projects that fails, thus failing my invested capital.

Social engineering is probably the greatest weapon of hackers, many imagine hackers as being great with technology and they are, but one of their greatest secrets and abilities is that they can convince people to give them private information they should not divulge, and a perfect example of this are private keys, how many times we have seen examples in the forum of people that gave their private keys to hackers just because they are asked to give that information away? And when a user does that there is no technology that can protect him.

People may never stop from falling for scams since scammers has always a new way or strategy to make their victims fall from it. They always have the different idea how to make people believe through their platforms and projects, that's why day by day many people are falling from their traps.

Actually some people are meant to be used as sacrifice to the gods of scam. I mean I have no pity for such people who pick ignorance instead of knowledge. I love to think I have done my part in the grand scheme of things. Education trumps over any form of greed, so far they haven't learn any either.

Nothing surprising there tbh. If there isn't any real desire to learn, but only the desire for money or otherwise greed, people will continue to get scammed by themselves. It's like how they would probably go inside a burning building just to get a million dollars inside. And even if we say that they got experience with being scammed, as long as there's the factor or miniscule chance of a possibility of "earning money", they'd willingly enter any kind of trial/site/enticement just so they can try it. It's like gambling. They hope and pray that they actually hit the jackpot in one of their decisions, which makes separating from such choices harder than ever.

Actually one of the reason why they fall the traps is also because of them. They are lack of knowledge about scam project and investments. Giving an easy way to scammers to figure out what they needed to do in order to scam them quickly. Some people wants an easy money and they want to put their money on risk just to double or triple their money in small amount of time. There are many fake investment and projects by using the price bitcoin as a power tools to fool people because of its price is very high and people always want it.
This type of scam is the same with my friend after several payment with exchange to bitcoin promising to double with extra bonus they vanished together with the money of my friend.

I feel that people fall for these scams due to various reasons and one of them is the urgency to earn quick money, and whenever a person gives into this kind of urgency then he/she ignores the basic rules and walks straight into the scammers trap. Another reason I can cite is the emotional behaviour of the victims which is often manipulated by the scammers, and honestly I have fallen for this kind of scam and believe me it’s very difficult to realise that you’re being scammed.

Unfortunately, newbies don't have the desire to learn to be honest because what they want is they want to gain money in a quick and easy way. They don't want to spend some time researching that is why they are falling even for an obvious scams like Bitcoin doubler or daily interest kind of scams etc.

In my experience, I didn't fell for this kind of scams because I didn't just do some research at first but I listened to some of the experts and asked questions to some people before investing. I don't want to just throw away my money to some investment that I don't know how it work.

Yup it's easy to make a decision if it involves a huge amount of money that's why many people fall into different scams because of their desire of money, because why not who wouldn't want instant money and a huge amount without doing anything. Most pyramid schemes that are running on the internet now are just to scam those who are lazy to do thorough research. They might ask you to start with just 0.001BTC and you will end of with 64BTC with 8 levels. The other will say you will double your deposit withing a month as if crypto trading is a money-printing machine. They are just numerous online and those who are joining crypto space newly always fall victim.

Pyramid schemes are indeed very easy to attract new investors, however, it is an old trick but it still works today. however, I think people who are great at inviting someone to invest are things that need to be avoided, especially for those who always offer a lot of profits and instant. what needs to be understood is, to make big money, need trust in investment companies, and don't invest in companies that have a lot of incomplete information.

There's no tool that can prevent someone from being scammed, because it is the people/investors who certainly fail to use either the tools to detect a possible scam or the lack of initiative (usually caused by greediness).
I am even surprised why there are still people who falls for account/wallet hacking when there where already a thick layer of wallet security such as two or multiple factor authentication and OTP's before accessing or doing an online transactions.

And unfortunately this is something that happens not only to newbies but to everyone, they are greedy and they let that greed to blind them to the risks they are taking, and while greed is bad enough if you can at least direct it to something productive you could take advantage of it, but many people are also lazy, they do not want to work hard to reach their dreams of untold riches and when that happens it is almost inevitable they become victims of scammers.

It absolutely their offers are looking great and attractive. We can't deny that people will look into gaining more profit especially for newcomers and they will think that accepting their offers will give them an instant return but they are actually wrong. Profit earning should be think of at least. Many people got scammed right? The problem with these people are the lack of sense and even their already been cheated still their mindset for money never changes. The persuation to get back what is loss is more big than accepting and learning from it.

well falling from scams because of Greed and not knowledgeable ,most victims got hooked because of the promises being Bait of scammers.
sometimes even how research we do still scammers can enter our system because they are almost the same of the legit company,their sites are good,from white paper to road map and their ANN thread.

That is something that really upsets me, I understand that no one can know everything however if you are really interested in something then we should look for information about that particular subject and yet very few people do that and instead they want everything to be handed to them as if it is the responsibility of someone else to solve their problems, if you want to learn how to invest or trade then you will need to begin a long and hard path in which you will need to read and understand several books, most likely such journey will last months if not years before you can reach a level that allows you to make money in the markets.

Too bad for that bank client as he learned how investing in cryptocurrency works in a hard way. No one is to blame aside from himself because if only he took the time to learn everything about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency and the less risky way to spend his hard-earned money, he won't suffer from being scammed. Most often, greediness doesn't really bring good things if you are just new in investing, you need to take initiative to learn everything before engaging yourself on anything that involves money. 

In my personal opinion, people would continue to fall for scams because most of us want a huge sum of money in a short period of time or little to no effort while there are some who are new and haven't learnt the lesson yet. Some of my friends that once asked me about Bitcoin, at first they thought that Bitcoin was a means to get rich quick within few days and when I explain to them that that’s not how it works, they lose interest. I don’t even bother to ask them about it, because it’s none of my business, I don’t care. I am not even the type that goes around telling people about Bitcoin because some of them are foolish and they can do anything later and make mistake and blame you later.

Scams are still everywhere because we are talking about money. I think it will never turn into bubble and there will always be hackers. Yes new security will be discovered but hackers are smart enough. They will always find a way. So for the users I think it is better that the protection of your account starts from yourself like being careful to the sites that are accessing. Always be aware what you are pasting, is it your private key or the correct address? Read and understand what is on the internet especially the urls.

Those people who victim by Ponzi Schemes are lazy to seek new knowledge to invest in Bitcoin and other crypto currency that's why they will stick to this kind of investment. sometimes scammers are really good at this and their tongue is so sweet that even pro can be a victim.but yeah laziness mostly the main reason why they are losing money and also sometimes Greed comes to the scene.

Bitcoin has been popular with the tag line can be made someone getting rich instantly. Including me, a few day before I know this forum I found more about bitcoin and there were many services who offer like ponzi scheme and at that time I'm really interested. I felt to the platform who use my money for trading, and I will get passive income per months as a result. And I believe at that time until I got scammed eventually by this service and greatfully I know this forum. I think this forum is really helpful especially for newbie, I hope for those who just new and have intention to focus on crypto they should/must know this forum first in my opinion.

OP, don't be dismayed and let it not worry you that much. Our people are like that and are always on the look out for easy ways. Bitcoin or cryptocurrency isn't that way. Though they make rich when unexpected. For me, I believe education is in two parts - (1) Education from knowledge and (2) Education from experience. Let those folks experience the education that comes from experience and lose to scammers since they don't want your knowledge. Trust me it will be something they won't forget in a hurry.
