We're hearing now that there was someone who went to CPAC who was infected with the coronavirus and had a brief conversation with Senator Cruz, they shook hands and such as well.

I have an assumption that the peak of the epidemic has already passed, and soon the epidemic will be eliminated (except for single cases)

He had contact with the person infected with coronavirus 10 days ago, and the statement read that he will remain in self quarantine until 14 days has passed from when he had contact with the person.You're without a doubt right, I kinda skimmed through his statement so that's what happened. But the other lawmaker that is under quarantine is Rep Gosar from Arizona. He's said that he had sustained contact with the infected person as cpac, so I assume he meets the criteria to be put under quarantine. Per the statement, testing is not effective for those without symptoms. The self quarantine is out of an abundance of caution due to how many people he interacts with every day. I don’t think you are at a high risk of catching the coronavirus from brief interactions with someone who has it. Self quarantine is the only smart thing people do. If he is infected he will most likely noticed earlier then in 4 days. Also you can do so many things even under quarantine. It is not end of the world. One notable person being Rep Mark Meadows, the presidents incoming Chief of Staff (unsure on when he's going to be taking his position) who also shook hands with the President. The media is probably going to try to blow out of proportion, and say that Trump has the coronavirus.
