I think you should evaluate why no one is participating your competition then consider what to do to attract players to participate.

Sounds good but lets see how it will be better than what you offered in the current competition.
As you said a "massive prizes" on your current competition but in fact it is not as massive as what its said.
Hopefully this "better" will be a truly better as your previous massive is not a truly massive.

I agree the competition rules are not player-friendly. The marketing expert should think twice and analyze the player's interest in the promo game.
