Title: Have you ever made a deposit and haven't received it in your account?
Post by: abulmarka on June 16, 2020, 06:43:27 AM
Have you ever deposited a currency in one of the sites or exchanges and did not receive the currency in your account.  I means that the withdrawal was already done in your first account but did not reach your second account on the other exchange and remained on the network. Is this possible? What can be done?

In fact, this is a very rare occurrence, but it is possible. This can happen when fees are low. As a result of the many transfers, congestion occurs in the network. Usually, miners take transactions whose fees are higher at first, so if the transaction fees are low, they may remain stuck in the network for a long time. In this case, you should use the Accelerators service such as:
https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ (https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/)
https://pushtx.btc.com/ (https://pushtx.btc.com/)

This can happen but it is unlikely. Unless you have placed the wrong address. It also depends on how much Gwei or Gas you use for the transaction. If you use the lowest amount of Gwei it's possible that the transaction will fail and when that happens it the tokens usually goes back to your wallet. But there are some cases that the transaction will come through after a few hours.

I have never been in such a situation because I am very careful in filling out wallet information. But I also know a lot of cases of money being locked in exchanges. If you can not withdraw, it is certainly due to the exchange system, maybe due to too many withdrawals at the same time so it is lag and error occurs. Worse case is that the CEO of exchange is a fraud and he has imprisoned all your money. That's why we should only trade in big exchanges like Binance, Huobi and Okex.

Agree! Sometime shit happens like this. Be careful when filling out the information of your wallet is the best way you can do to avoid wrong address! Furthermore, the situation may happen because of the high withdrawing volume. Just wait a few days and then email the customer service team to ask if you still can't receive the money!

There're are too many factors that might the reason why you didn't receive your Bitcoin or other cryptos from the exchange platform you used.
Yes, I'd experienced this several times, I contacted the team and ask them or see the further announcement of the exchange if there is maintenance activity.

You can do this advice if you still didn't receive it yet.
  • Check your history on the exchange you used if you can trace the transaction history
  • Contact the support team and ask what happen
  • Read the TOS if how many hours it should be confirmed
  • Wait at least 24 hours if there's no respond yet
  • Re-check the address you've used and just make it sure that is correct
  • Re-check the exchange platform you used and make it sure that isn't phishing site

This commonly happens if the exchange you used is something that has shady activity. Occasionally, the transactions aren't accepted by the rest of the network and probably are never considered to be confirmed.

A similar situation happened to me, it was not connected exclusively with the fact that the BTC network was busy, and the commission set by me was not enough for quick confirmation by the network.
In the end, I found a lot of information on how to speed up this process, but decided not to rush and wait. The transaction was confirmed a day later and the funds successfully came to my account.

The only possible reason is that if the fee is very low. Check the blockchain of the coin and see how it goes. You didn't mention the exchange though, maybe you use some shady exchange and there are also the possibility that it may pull a exit scam. But as experiencing it, never, because I used top tier exchanges only.

To prevent something like this, make sure you use a reputable exchange, at least with a tx id displayed when they send your transaction so you can complains later if something went wrong. If you use an exchange which doesn't display or give you such thing, and they don't want to give it when you ask on support chat, there's a high chance they're scamming you.

On the other hand, there can be a case where the 2nd exchange that you use is the one who pull a scam, or just plain terrible. I know some exchanges that behave like this. You need to contact support just to make your balance refreshed every single time. They're simply a pain in the ass to deal with.

If the exchange is not scam or the destination wallet is not a scam too then, I think there's a few reason why you will not receive your coin.

  • The wallet address is wrong
  • The fee is too low and will takes days or even months to receive
  • The network is just traffic

I just want to share my experience regarding no.1. I put the wrong tag on the address but I still recover it using the support. So if any of you will put the wrong tag on transferring a coin (for example XRP) don't worry! you can still recover it as long as the exchange is legit and the exchange support is cooperating :)

One time I faced a situation like this. I mean I withdrew the BTC and I received it to my wallet lately with the help of the mining pool. Maybe it was the viabtc pool. It's a very rare time when bitcoin remains in the network. and the problem might be solved lately and it has a little risk. But when you will be a victim of scam exchange, the risk is more and you can be lost your money.

What others stated above is fair enough to know that BTC transaction might get delayed, take too much long due low fees etc. but it will never happen that BTC never ended up in the final destination address.

There were hundred thousands of transactions those were pending for more than 5-6 days in the late 2017 when transaction acceleration came into boom.

That was the longest delay I had experience myself. But it finally got into my wallet.

Reference Here:
Bitcoin Network Reaches a Record 150,000 Unconfirmed Transactions  (https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-transaction-queue-breaks-record/)

This was the time when people almost thought that nobody will ever get their bitcoins back again. Close case to what you talking.

+1 on this. If you understand and already it's on the network, you can do is to wait, unless the exchange you use to withdraw will bump the fee or accelerate the transaction. So if ever you want some answers, the first you should contact here is the exchange itself.

Some exchanges now are doing the batch transactions, like there are/is specific time they process withdrawals in a batch transaction. Depends on an exchange, make sure you should know this before withdrawing in some exchange so you will not worry.

That is a common issue it happens sometimes, I experience that on a particular exchange before my deposit does not go through, the best thing to do is contact and email the exchange support. In my case, it happens because at the time of my deposit they are having unplanned maintenance, so that is the reason of the delay in the transaction. Also, there are so many cases that cause a delay either withdrawal or deposit sometimes a clogged on the network on a certain blockchain. I suggest if you are doing arbitration between exchanges better use fast blockchain, like USDT that are base on ETH or TRX, not Omni it is slow. BNB, XLM is fast too, that is what I do when I do transfer from one exchange to another.

As long as I am familiar with bitcoin and this forum I have never experienced that problem. But some of my friends have experienced it, and there are those who managed to complete the transaction process smoothly, but there are also those who until now have not received anything in their account.

Problems on the exchange network may be the main problem or can be related to transaction costs that are too low and transactions cannot be processed, so wait a long time to be able to process it or it can fail.

If the exchange you use is an exchange scam and gets a bad reputation, then don't expect you to accept the deposit you have made.

I am always careful when choosing Exchange, I do a lot of research to ensure that the exchange is safe. Use the help feature on the exchange if there is an error on their network.

Is this possible? What can be done?

Depends on several factors;

•Legitimacy of the exchange
•Network congestion

These are things which i do saw that can really affect into these kind of transaction and as said by other members here which
you should at least wait for 24 hours and if every hasnt been credited yet then thats the time to reach out support.

This happened to me sometimes when I intended to sell some of my ethereum coins from Blockchain wallet to Binance exchange. This transaction stayed over a week on the network before I tendered the issue to a friend, he helped me to accelerate the transaction and few hours I got the ethereum coins into my wallet. This is cause by low transaction fee or network congesture and can be accelerated for faster delivery, you can seek for help on service section.

It is possible. About what currency you are talking about? Bitcoins? Also, what are the exchanges you are using? Why not you add these specific things here so that people will try to help you exactly? I understand that you are talking about bitcoin as you are able to see on network, it may take time to get confirmation and after the required confirmation, it will be appearing on your account of your second exchange.

Hope you are aware of what is confirmation in bitcoin transactions.
You may check your deposit history on your second account for reflecting the deposit you are worrying about.
You must learn about the practices of your second exchange on required confirmation on different cryptocurrencies. Typically exchanges may get your deposited completed after 3 to 6 confirmations. For every services that you are going to use with cryptos, make sure about their policy on required confirmation before depositing with them.

Yes it is possible but also depends on the type of coin you sent. I think this issue also occurs in exchanges because I remembered having such issue; I made a transaction which was successful from my end, arrived in the exchange wallet but wasn't reflecting on my personal account. After waiting for a while and it wasn't successful I had to send a message to the support with enough proofs and it was rectified. So depending on the type of transaction you did, if it's in exchanges then contact the exchange with all proofs and it will be solved, unless it is a scam exchange.
Also, low transaction fee on Ethereum or Bitcoin can still cause a delay, thus you need to accelerate the transaction in the case of Bitcoin, OR resend the transaction from another mobile wallet (maybe trust wallet) in the case of Ethereum.

It happens with my coinbase account too often but it was just due to the bug, soon the balance will get reflected once I close the app or just after an hour later. So it is not possible for your transaction to remain on the network once it was completed unless you deposited into a fake exchange or wallet.

This has happened to me on bitforex, I transferred a token down there, with the required gas from my imtoken wallet to the Exchanger site where am to sell off the token. It was just a $9 to $10 worth of it. Now on the other hand the gas system came up high and the token was stock in network up till today I didn't check in for the token again before that even got to the point they want to scam me with another means on how to make the token land on Exchanger wallet.

That is common and I experienced it several times.

The most common reason for my case is the destination platform itself (receiving address). The wallet is not updating and does have a sort of technical problem. If your transaction got confirmed and the address is correct, don't worry as you received at your end unless that platform do have a sudden problem or scam.

Anyways, you won't ask this question without a reason. Do you experience this now? What are the platforms involved?

* wrong address destination
* fake address
* a scam exchanges
* no confirmation is done
All of these are the common reason why are not able to see your deposit into your wallet. Just like sending BTC to the BCH wallet address( as a mistake) surely it won't arrive into your Bitcoin wallet and have nothing to arrive either.

That why it is very important to double-check the addy first and also check the legitimacy of the exchanges you use, you might not know that you are already been trick by these scammers and use phishing sites.

It happens and I experience that, the simple solution to that is just to send message to the support, exchanges have different rate in terms of response time but as long as they respond and solve the issue, you can trust them. No exchange are perfect, sometimes they are having problem on their system, so we need to immediately inform them if the processing period is not normal anymore.

Yes it happens. Slow confirmation speeds and the higher number of confirmation requirements make it possible. Use this - https://bitaccelerate.com/
This website broadcasts your transaction to too many pools for free, instantly and your chances go higher to get a confirmation.
Another thing could be that the recipient exchange is possibly experiencing some technical issues within, so it's always better if you check with the exchange you sent with or the one you're going to receive your coins at. You also need to take care of the fact that some exchanges don't allow you deposits through smart contracts as it'll violate their terms.

I have never experienced that before.
May I know what type of coin did you used to send? There are times transaction time takes long but will not took many days though.
And, have you checked the address you have entered, as you know there are different malwares out there that automatically change the address to where you will send it.

Also, you can check the blockchain to see the progress or status of your transaction.
Here is a guide on how to do it.

Have you contacted the support?

I have an experience like that, at that time I sent XLM in my first exchange to my second exchange but I've been waiting for almost three days. But it was my fall because I forgot to put the memo when trying to send my XLM and I contact the support to my first exchange and they're able to return all my XLM.  In this case, I use a trusted exchange. I mean, my first exchange has been trusted by many people so as they will try hard to help anything that falls to its user. It may be different when you choose a bad exchange, I mean you choose a bad exchange, new exchange, or just a few users who know the exchange the most possibilities you've been scammed by the exchange and it means you'll never get back the coin that you sent.

I have experienced a deposit not received, it turns out I wrote the wrong address. I sent LTC, but I used a BTC address. So the withdrawal
was successful, but the deposit was not received. Be careful when sending cryptocurrency, always check whether the address the deposit is
correct. If it's like that, our coins will be involved in the blockchain network forever. But if the address is correct, We haven't received the crypto
we sent. Another possibility is that you use a low transaction fee, so sending can take a long time.Wait for 2-3 days the coins sent to be received.

It depends on the number of the blocks are available and the system is fully functional because sometimes they are maintenance that causes of having a slow transaction also in terms of deposits sometimes there are some confirmations like needed to have almost 50 confirmation before your funds are fully transferred, also we have the transaction fee it depends on this how fast the transaction may be delivered sometimes it does into minutes, hours and whole day before they make a confirmation.

Most of this problem that have not arrived in your second address for sure the address that you put is wrong or the wallet is not updated. Are you sure that you put correctly the address and not the other coins address?.. Try to contact their support maybe they can help.
I this k if you are aware of transferring of funds most of the time you must know what are the wallet address they needed most common mistakes of the newbie is the btc wallet address and the bch wallet address and they think it looks the same so they use those address instead the another one. Still, it is rarely happening so there is no chance of having this kind of mistake happens.

Slow transactions are common, and one common problem is the wallet/platform you sending it to, more likely a technical cause. Also its worth checking that the addresses haven't got typos and that where you depositing is legit and up and running. If this seems all fine then fire out some emails to the support team.

Slow transactions are common

What happens to sent fund when due to slow transaction exchange changes deposit wallets address?

For example when I tried to deposit litecoin to coinbase, exchange gave me two different address during 3 days. Few days ago, my transaction of ethereum waited for confirmation for 8 hours. Imagine if I would have sent ethereum to an address, and exchange changed deposit address during these 8 hours. Will I receive my funds or I need to spend time referring to support and giving proof of my deposit ?

Anyone experienced that ?

Luckl for me i never encounter this kind of problem but i think this is almost impossible to happen, or else you accidentally input the wrong wallet address in that particular exchanger. Some of the case also that maybe you choose the smaller transaction fee and because of that your transaction may takes very long time to process because mostly higher transaction fee are going first before small fee process.

I have done it once but it was my mistake and I do not blame anyone for it as well. I was working for a program that paid me with eth however that eth was erc20 or even maybe something more complex and they sent it to this special wallet they worked with, it was a software you download to your computer so like all the other wallets we used back in the day but it wasn't regular eth wallet, it was different. After a while I had around 70 dollars worth of ethereum there so I wanted to withdraw it and cash it out to fiat currency to spend it.

I work with a local exchange that helps me change my crypto to fiat, so I sent all the eth to them but there was a huuuuuge disclaimer about not send it from those type of wallets and I did it anyway forgetting it. All of that money was gone, was a sad day but I am glad it happened because I know I will never make the same mistake again.

It can depend on what type of coin you're sending. NEM always needs an individual message sent with the tx for some reason and I've lost count of the number of people who forgot that and wound up with nothing arriving at the exchange. Not sure how many got their issue solved.

It's definitely something I'm conscious of with coins I'm unfamiliar with. A lot of them have some odd little quirks in how they operate.

The first time I made a deposit to an exchange really scared me a lot. I was a newbie back then in 2017. I am depositing my tokens to an exchange where I can trade it for Bitcoin. Unfortunately, the tokens didn't arrived on my exchange account due to heavy network congestion and the gas fees were high. I thought that my tokens were completely gone in the wind. But good thing I researched about a possibility of cancelling or reversing an Ethereum transaction with some online tricks.

Eventually it worked and my tokens are back to where it was. I tried again for the second time by setting the gas fee a bit higher, and the results are the same. For my second attempt, I was scared once again. I did the same trick procedure of cancelling my Ethereum transactions, and my tokens are back once again.

However, I didn't give up. I tried for the third time and set the gas fee a bit higher again. Thankfully that time, it finally came to my exchange account and I successfully traded the token to BTC.

There's a video I followed if the transaction is stuck, but I forgot the exact one because it was more than a couple of years ago. I will just update my post if I could still find it.

Had that experienced with ETH when their network had network congestion issue and the best to do in this kind of situation is to increase the tx fee if youre sending from personal wallet while transaction is yet to have a single confirmation but if you're sending from an exchange wallet they only thing you have to do is to use transaction acceleration.

It can depend on what type of coin you're sending. NEM always needs an individual message sent with the tx for some reason and I've lost count of the number of people who forgot that and wound up with nothing arriving at the exchange.
I'm once a victim of that when Graft coin was launched in the year 2017 i guess but I'm still why people still invest in NEM despite their laziness in terms upgrade/innovating their transaction and wallet system.

You did not mentioned How long does the account are pending, because if you are just looking or waiting for an hour or couple then this is normal specially if your fee is Very low and some market movement happened in Big growth or dumping.

But come back here if you still waiting for a week or more because that is very rare case though you must contact the support and share us what their answer is,because we don't know if you had been hacked since most of the time we are copy pasting our keys.

Is this possible? What can be done?
Yes its possible to happen especially if you make a mistake on the details of your transactions. If everything is correct from your address details to other information then that is the time for you to contact the exchange, if its a legit exchange nothing to worry about but if its not then it can be consider that you're a victim of an scam exchange.

actually this is impossible to be the reason because OP already mentioned having the first transaction has no issue and only the second was being delayed so i think the support will have answers for this.

I haven't had that kind of experience before yet it's really possible to happen. The best thing that you have to do it to provide evidence and screenshots and reach out to their support team. It's really important that we'll always choose a trusted exchange.

Yes, that is happen with me, but it is very rare and mistake. I deposit on the exchange erc token, but the token changes as erc20. After that I do not find my token and lost my erc token.

It actually happens but the good thing is that in some cases it is solved simply with patience and information.

The deposit is generally a simple process to copy address, amount and send.
Make the process quick and easy for your second deposits and corresponding future deposits. BUT in the first deposit, please read the FAQ. If you have questions contact the exchange support or enter the forum BCT, ask your questions.

In my experience because of the things that have happened to me, I can mention the following:
1.-Look carefully not only in the direction, there are conditions such as fee, minimum amounts, etc... "read"

2.-Confirmations, do not remember that token deposit, but it required 12 confirmations to be seen in my balance. .

3.-Another situation that happened to me was that after seeing my balance on the exchange, I could not use it until 2 confirmations were made, in this case they were BTC, that can take a few minutes to hours, it is the same as the previous case (2) only that in this case (3) the balance does appear

In general, if you do everything correctly, your funds will arrive, then take a reasonable time depending on the crypto currency (patience), if your patience is measured in seconds, then generate a claim ticket and support will attend your case properly. . Remember to use reputable and trusted exchange that helps in any unexpected process that happens.

I have experience this several time especially when I am withdrawing directly from an exchange wallet to an address generated for me in my betting account. When this happens and I check for the transaction hash on the blockchain and I see it is successful but my account on the betting site is not credited, I normally make send message to the support mail after which they help me to check and credit account. It will be better if you can elaborate on which wallet the transfered money is not showing

No need to worry if the address of the intended exchanges is correct, because some coins have different transaction speeds and also
depend transaction fees that we use. If you use a low transaction, it certainly takes a relatively long time for the deposit to arrive.
My advice if within 3x24 hours the deposit has not been received, immediately request assistance from these support exchanges.

Is this possible? What can be done?

Several reasons :

- The coin/token your transferring to an exchange may have been under maintenance.
- If you're not transferring Bitcoin, then it should get through almost instantly, because most of the alts have faster transaction speed that Bitcoin. Most probably you have entered a wrong wallet address.
- Or it turned out to be a scam address/exchange.
- If you're transferring Bitcoin, It maybe stucked in the network for days due to low fee and mempool traffic.

You should look for the tx id for you to easily track the status of your deposit.
I once have encountered similar situation like yours. The coin I tried to deposit from a certain exchange got stucked for almost a month because It went under maintenance and the team took a lot of time to fix everything. It was posted in the tx id that the transaction was successful but It didn't reflect on my balance.

Another best option for you is to send a support ticket to that exchange to clarify things out.

2 days.
That is my worst experience with transactions.
It's like it was just left in the air.
I feared that I won't see it again but when it comes to bitcoin transactions there is always a way.

That is where I learned with free services of pushing transactions that are not moving.
It happens a lot specially when there is a clog in tx numbers. Low fees are not in high priority.

Nowadays it is in most cases automatic and if you don't receive it, then support won't help you because if they do not see the transaction in the blockchain, they will not add you funds.

To be honest, i've never encountered such situation since my time here in crypto space. however, a lot of factors might contributes though such as wrong address, not enough gas or transaction fee as well as scam exchange. You should try to check up transaction from the explorer of the blockchain network the coin belongs to

I always had a complete order with the deposit, because I work with a trusted broker Amarkets.

Thank you very much for that shameless plug.  >:(

I once had a transfer not appear on my account but it was quickly resolved by support. If anything doesn't go through and is in the blockchain it's usually a problem in communication between the wallet and the database of the exchange. They have the money you're just can't see it on your account.

When I was new in this field its happen to me as well and I was really fear about my funds because these was stuck and not moving for nearly 2 days but after nearly 72 hours they came back in my wallet as I was fail to put fees as this was required after this now I am doing this all with all required things completed.
