Of course, as I know, there are many exchanges that support staking.
I want to fully understand what is staking and what are the best coins and platforms that we can do staking and give good profits?

In such sites you're handing you capital over to someone else to do with it as they please, in staking you buy a cryptourrency which is used to build a project and you lock it up, this is used to encourage people to hold their currency rather than dump it, hence the value is expected to increase, you also get a fixed reward at specific time intervals, based on the amount of the coins you're holding. You invest into someone else and not investing on your own  . I think that was risky and you said the returns are not that big enough but I heard this also take a long time . While in the case of investing a crypto you can freely choose a good coin and the coin can pump easily too but Staking is part of the block chain/crypto system so it's better that we both support them and not just support one  side  . we can invest most of our capital and few of it would be go for staking to help the development  of new crypto projects .

It depends on what token you stake. Like for example the Harmony(One) token which has a lot of potential to price pump in the future. The Apr of staking Harmony is a whooping 25% and that is huge as a passive investment compared on banks time deposit. When you are lucky, The coin value itself might pump in the future so you can have more gain. The chance of losing on your investment was very low because you have lifeline of 25% on your stake.

staking needs a lot of capital to verify profits as you need confidence in the platform that they will not deceive you as they will pay all the obligations that they have in short. It needs capital and confidence to succeed and therefore not a good investment method.

Staking doesn't produce anything of value, it's just useless inflation. For every "free" coin you get by staking your portfolio is depreciating by a similar amount (or more, if some other bagholders have masternodes or some other contraption that produces more inflation).

With the investment, you are in control, when you see a nice price movement, you can sell immediately and look another way to invest.

Depends on your risk appetite, let's say ETH, it is required that you have 32 Ethereum to participate in staking and became validator, are you willing to shelter out that kind of amount? As compare to investing wherein you can start small and gradually build your portfolio, thus you have total control, you can shift funds around or move your investment in the hottest trend. So there's a lot of cons/pros and nobody can really answer which one is better. For average joe, it's better to go on investing initially, but for whales who have so much money and has deep capital, they can go staking and then investing at the same time.

Doing both is much better, staking is the same as investing so there isn't that much to choose from. In my honest opinion, it would be better if you go all the way investing because this are better in my opinion, if you do not know much about staking and things that you should watch out for then you probably should stick to investing.

First of all, context. OP is asking about staking for profit, not about staking as a consensus mechanism.

Inflation is inflation no matter where it's coming from. Of course every newly minted bitcoin dilutes the value of other bitcoins but the demand is strong enough to maintain the price, i.e. there is value added elsewhere that outweighs the inflation rate (below 2% annual ATM).

I doubt the same can be said about whatever shitcoin the OP is peddling, or most staking shitcoins TBH. Without demand that creates value, staking "profit" - and therefore the OP's question - is useless.

I prefer to stake and investment at the same time because that means both stake and investment can be my additional income in the future, besides my main income source.
But both stake and investment need time before we can make money, and sometimes, we need to wait for a longer time to cash out the profit because the market is not always moving as we want.
If you want to do both stake and investment, you need to have a list of potential coins which can give you the profit, and I admitted that it would not easy to have those list.
We need to analyze one by one of the coins to stake and invest so that we can get the right coins.

The good thing in staking is that you can earn passively (as in literally passive) since you let the money work for you and all you need to do is to wait. However, your success still depends on the future of the project you choose. Plus, a huge initial capital is required here unlike to common crypto investing where you can buy small amounts and make it grow as time goes by.

Invest in staking? How that sounds? I am saying for year, everything you do is an investment. On your job you invest your arms, brain, legs, and you get paid for that, but much better is to invest money and to earn money, so you can save your body and brain from troubles.
There's no simple math here, with investing in staking coin you will have some passive income, and if the price of that coin rise it can be a jackpot (if you save coins you get from staking). Of course, you need to invest a nice amount of money to have some decent passive income. In the same time some coin can be a lot more profitable if it rises exponentially (you just need to be lucky to hit that coin).

Your question is confusing because it is somewhat correlated because if order for you to stake, you need to invest some money to buy that tokens and hold for some amount of time.

Yes, I consider staking as investing because you stake your coin for a certain time to earn reward and you are not assured if the value of the coin will rise, if it falls, you will lose as regardless if your coins will increase but if its value will fall, it's still useless.

Both are different and I think both should be applied as an investor here in crypto. You can invest in one coin and stake it! that alone will combine the two and will produce a better or worst result, that is going to be a double edge sword since some of the staking on exchange have a lock in period and you can't sell your coin on a specific price that you want.

PoS coins gets created by staking. If sole usecase of a coin is staking then that sounds ponzi to me. It will end badly sooner or latter.

It really depends on the project of what you are staking, some fails to commit to their investors because of poor handling, what's worst with staking if the project go fully dead that they can't even give back the capital of the investors. These two are great source of profit in the long run, they are both great when it takes so much time. But when it comes to availability, cryptocurrency investing is ahead than staking.

I'd stay clear from places which asks to keep your funds for you and promise a % return over time, especially those connected with cryptocurrencies.

As for staking, you need to have a huge capital in order to get something that is substantial, or at least that can be considered as something 'worth it' for the time your coins were idle. Perhaps you may already know the concept that involves staking, and why it's a safe form of investment. The downside however is you would be relying on the profitability of the staked coin/asset itself and that it remains stable in the long run for your coins/asset would still be worth something.

If you hold the majority of staking power of a coin then I say staking is better or maybe if you want to hold that altcoin for long terms then staking can give you some extra return. But I always prefer investing in IEO or for a short period of time as it yields higher returns than any other method. But these days it has become tough to find a good project even with this many number of IEO rating websites as these websites have most probably started giving fake ratings to those who pay them nicely.

I think it makes no sense comparing staking to Investing since staking it technically a form of Investing. Probably if you're comparing owning masternoods, staking or buying alts then it would be more realistic since that's what most enthusiast consider to be the difference forms of investing comparing to typically owning bitcoin.

Staking isn't that bad but a very risky form of investment especially when you don't carry out proper research and invest in a worthless shitcoins that's just been hyped and when that hypes dies down they give poor ROI as a result of the price of the coin declining massively.  Also you should rethink the mode of staking your investing into as giving your coins to a third party or not owning the private key to the wallet the coins are been staked in is as foolish as storing your coins on an exchange.

Seems like OP is concerned about one coin's staking which could be an attempt to shill on what they have invested or where they are being affiliated. It would be good if OP removed the links they have included as that is not a good example for staking as staking is an old concept and almost all the people on this crypto space might have been aware of it already. So, I guess for example purposes including one particular coin is not at all appropriate in my opinion.

Let me talk about staking and investing.

Both do not have big differences on ROI perspective as both are providing same kind of results for investors these days.

In some sense staking is seeming better than investing because it is like you are starting up a business venture to generate a passive income stream. Investing must be same kind but here you are fully depending on market value of your asset and no other factors are influencing your level of profits.

Staking get you more shares (coins) to increase your chances for get good ROI. But, investing will not impact the number of shares you bought hence you market value is the only factor for good ROI.

If you are willing to hodl for longer and can "stake" your coins for at least a year to get the decided amount through its staking, and you do all this after understanding the risks clearly that the value of that specific coin could be worth anything tomorrow (or the day when your stake matures and you get your share). Investing has three phases - short term, mid-term and long term but the difference here is that, you have your coins with yourself and need to trade yourself to gain anything on it.

Your word is correct. The stake is risky if I give the coins to a third party or an unknown coins. As for me, I am currently Staking the AWC token at Atomic Wallet. I think this Wallet is well-known and has a good reputation and high confidence and I expect the token to have a good future in addition to that you have the token in your own Wallet and your private key is available to you so I think the risk here is almost non-existent.

Good or not depends on the project, it is not possible if the project is bad can give good results, whether it's by way of investment or staking because it all depends on the project and its platform. AFAIK Atomic Wallet is non-custodial, i.e. the user controls the keys and doesn't need a server. That's really the only way staking should be done, if one must. Any kind of custodial wallet, shared masternode, exchange staking stuff is just asking for trouble.

Staking and investment? ??? Are they not the same thing? They are two similar things, so I think the question should be between trading and staking or mining and staking. I still believe that it all depends on how much you're able to invest. The more money you invest in all these things the more profit you're able to make. There is a major difference in principle between staking and investing, staking in the cryptocurrency space means you are helping in validating the blocks which means you get rewards for hording your coins and it is a major difference from investing as you are hording the coins for the value to go higher and you are not getting any rewards intrinsically for hording and that is not the case with staking.

Personally i am not a fan of POS simply because it is basically centralized and all the coins that are POS are pre mined heavily and it is not going to be fair game, all the fans of POS can have their view point but that is not going to work in the long term and i wont be surprised if i hear some large amount of coins that were staked were hacked in the future and that time we can talk about this Pandora box ;).

I used to be more in staking in the past.
However, I couldn't make a lot of money from that. It was about investing 1k and getting 5, so i thought I should switch to investing. Now I can say that I get more in returns but the risk is higher and I have a possibility of facing losses.

That's what I was thinking--this question is a false choice, since when you buy a PoS coin to stake you're investing in that coin.  Not quite sure what OP is asking in that case.

PoS coins aren't very popular on this forum from what I've seen, but I happen to think they're pretty cool.  The main problem I see is that there's no barrier to entry as far as someone wanting to create his own staking coin, and so far the result of that fact is that there are quite a few of them on the market.  To me that means a lot of them likely won't be able to maintain their value over time--and the same could be said for many altcoins in general, whether PoS or not.

Depends on which coin you are talking about. Some coins you invest into could help you make a ton of money and can go up a lot, some coins you invest into will not make you any money and will cause you to lose a lot when the price goes down. Some coins you stake will make you earn something very small while also the price of it going down as well which means overall you will lose a lot of money, some coins you stake will not be bad and will give you a decent interest but also it will go up in price as well which will make you a ton of profit.

As you can see it is not about staking versus investing, it is more about doing a good research on which coin you buy because as long as you pick the right coin it doesn't matter how it is, in the end if its a good coin that means you will make a profit one way or another.

I think it is always depend on how you handle our emotions or maybe strategy on crypto feild. Because some coin is very high on volatility and sometimes coin will almost fall into zero value, that is why i believe the staking or investing is always depend on the movement of the price of every coin and earning is always depend on how we handle things on crypto.

You mean hyip or ponzi that promises you a certain number of interest? Those are the only type of investment I know that gives you daily percentage of profit which is not advisable to be invested. It has a high risk of losing your money.

Staking a coin in long term will give good interest rate so it will results in good profit as well but in mean while the value of the coin shouldn't get depreciate or it will end up in loss.In my opinion I won't suggest staking because we can't liquidate our funds if the value is going red due to market condition or any other reason so always hold your funds and trade them according to your benefits.

Certainly not Ponzi, but I do not know if it is called Hyip. The investment I am talking about is by registering at some sites and then depositing some coins on the site and then getting a percentage of the profits on a daily or monthly basis.

I think the risks in staking is much higher than outright investing yourself. You obviously need to invest a lot more time when doing your own research and chosing which coins to buy. And you will also lose some money sometimes but in the end it's better to have some bad picks which will be outweighted by your good picks then having to risk to be defrauded. If you end up stacking a scam you could lose everything. Better to full control of your investments. Except if you have to much money and don't know where to put it, then diversifying could help.

Unless the tokens going to be sent somewhere before you can stake but it doesn't normally work that way. Staking can be done in your wallet that you own the privatekey, there is less risk to this.

If some people has a conviction in certain coins that in coming time that coins will grow 2x, 5x etc then investing in such coins is highly beneficial because you will buy those coins and hold it. Both Staking and Investing comes with considerable risks but at the same time both can very easily give you a good profit margin if worked with correctly.

Staking does have its own risks but so does Investing. Plus it also depends on the user , how he plans on working towards it and how much time he can spare for the same.

Staking is good if you stake a good coins which you think  going to have a higher value,but if you stake a coin, it has a time if when you are going to end it or ro stop it. Well the investment you are talking about is staking, some kind of ponzi where the investment of new investors are being rewarded to you, I'm not sure of the full investment is given to old investors of just part of it but that's how it works. Actually, your words are true. I tried staking the AWC token in Atomic Wallet about two weeks ago and its price was about  0.57$ at the time. Indeed, I only got some token from this stake, but the good point as you mentioned is that the price of the token increased significantly during this period and it is Now about  1.2$. 10% a year is even too good to be true.  The project will likely be dead with that rate, some rates I found was just 3% a year.  You'd rather not be staking if you are not prepared to see that you are actualyl lossig more than just trading the tokens some investors stake their tokens thining they are going to gain but the price of the token made them realized they are not.  They may have increased the number of tokens they have but the value is depreciating.

I have always preferred staking because while you are staking you are making more money in my mind. Obviously if you invest into a coin for 100 dollars and stake it and make 10 dollars but the price of that coin drops to 90 dollars you made nothing, whereas if you invest into a coin 100 dollars and the value increases 10 dollars you made 10 dollar profit hence it is not really about what you do with the currency, it is about what currency does in price.

Staking mostly results in loss, I remember I staked in a pool on a DeFi exchange and based on liquidity the price movement was there.
At first, I profited because i went in quickly when the liquidity was around 10k USD then greed kicked in when i didn't unstake my investment when the liquidity reached 58k USD and that's the time when things went south and that's when that crypto's price went from 0.3 USD to 0.003 USD that was around 100x loss and i learned my lesson.

There are some coins that I can never hold for too long because of the risk behind it. I won't easily conclude that staking is better than investing through other means, even staking itself is an investment. What I will argue out is that staking reduces the risk of losing, especially when a good coin is staked, but the amount to earn in staking is little, but earning money might be guaranteed. On the other hand, investments are many, and if it's about holding my coin, that's what I will personally go for. So, it depends on my personality and experience, and my reason is that I know how to trade very well. I know when to pump and dump, and by doing this, I could make more than x10 of what staking would offer me in a year.

Staking contains more risks, because you need to lock coins on some platform for a long period. And during this entire period, you cannot control your coins and do not have access to them, which I do not like at all. good point in terms of staking instead of holding in a usual way, if you believe and trust the exchange that you are using and you also believe with your chosen asset, staking would be better than following your statement, there's decline in a current value and if you are just holding your coin without staking the only benefits will be if the market start to pump, unlike when you are staking then you will be able to receive that staking rewards that will add up to your earnings in case that the market will be nice to you and favor your position.

The problem right now is that if you are just using your trust it will kill your just imagine the FTX people trust it that is why a lot of people lost their money, that is why it is better you wont put your assets in exchange unlike before that it is really okay, even my self hold couple assets before but when the FTX issue rise up ive withdraw it all just to be safe

I don't know what other users must have said since I've not gone through the comments, but if i must be frank with you, I did tell you that your question is unnecessary, this is because both investing and staking go hand in hand, that is, they are like the same thing, though you can invest without staking, but you cant stake without investing.

Think of it this way, for you to stake bitcoin, you have to first of all invest in bitcoin, that is buy some bitcoin , for you to stake eth, you have to first of all invest in eth, if you wanna stake ADA, or any other type of altcoin, you have to first and foremost invest in that altcoin, you cant stake without first of all investing, so staking is like an added advantage to those who invest, since by staking, you get to earn more of that coin you invested in, or any other coin used to reward the stakers.

And have it in mind that doing staking on centralized exchanges is very risky, and not just centralized exchanged but any centralized platform that offer staking is very risky , you could loss your money if anything goes wrong with that exchange or platform , better invest and hold on your non custodial wallet if there is no decentralized staking option available for the coin or token, than stake on a centralized exchange/platform.

Putting your trust in others is not the way to survive in this market. It is well known that staking offers some benefits compared to holding and doing nothing. But how to choose and know that the centralized platform will be safe for us? What to take to guarantee us? Let's not forget why we need bitcoin, besides the profit it brings, we need it to move away from centralized systems like banks. But it would be ironic if we criticize banks and use centralized exchanges to deposit our bitcoins.

I would rather hold my bitcoins in a non-custodial wallet and find another way to accumulate more bitcoins than handing over my bitcoins to a third party.
