Well, it will surprise you to know that staking is another form of investment. However, staking does not require huge collateral as in masternodes hence it makes it quite easier for more people to invest with in it. If you are looking for platforms to stake then I will recommend MyContainer platform. It's very secured and easy to use.
Staking is dead!

Excluding those new coins that do exist in the market and just stick out with Dash https://www.stakingrewards.com/asset/dash/calculate
Then you can definitely say that this one wont really be an ideal way of increasing up your profit yet rewards wont really be felt that much if you
cant put up big amounts and so as with other similar staking projects out there. This one is considered as an investment too and i dont know
why it being separately categorized.

I used to be more in staking in the past.
However, I couldn't make a lot of money from that. It was about investing 1k and getting 5, so i thought I should switch to investing. Now I can say that I get more in returns but the risk is higher and I have a possibility of facing losses.

Depends on situation.

Selecting altcoin for stacking is easier than selecting an altcoin for investment. In stacking you just have to look at the % plan and select most profitable option. While doing an investment, investor must spend spend great amount of time choosing best altcoin to invest.

Speaking about profit - investing is no doubt better. While stacking can bring 1-10% profit, investing can double the portfolio. Both stacking and investing are liable of altcoin price drop.

In my opinion, staking and investing are somehow the same. Its a form of putting your money in an investment which can give you profit. Well, they are both good if you make a good research and analysis many types of investments existed (stocks, real estate, cryptocurrency, gold, etc). HOwever, investing blindly without any idea what you are doing might make you in debt and lose all of your money. Therefore, be wise when you choose to become an investor Wink

I think, that staking is much better. You will have guaranteed earnings and you can look at https://www.stakingrewards.com/ where is also written APR of your theoretical earnings at this time and also staking pools and which is the most profitable.

Investing has higher risks, cause you have to believe some 3rd part - coin developers - that will have to hard work and make the price rise.

On staking there is even bigger income and that coins/tokens are much older and working well - otherwise their price will go extremely down.

I have never really heard about MyContainer! Is it a new platform? I don’t know if this platform is reliable. Anyway, I went to the site and saw some offers on staking some coins. I want to ask about this token

Divi (DIVI)    YEARLY RETURN = 37%

I think this token is for the platform and they are giving a large percentage but I don't know anything about this token.
Frankly, I do not want to risk investing new coins. I want to invest in major coins.

Staking is a form of investing, you'd need to specify what form of investment to compare it with.
That's what I was thinking--this question is a false choice, since when you buy a PoS coin to stake you're investing in that coin.  Not quite sure what OP is asking in that case.

PoS coins aren't very popular on this forum from what I've seen, but I happen to think they're pretty cool.  The main problem I see is that there's no barrier to entry as far as someone wanting to create his own staking coin, and so far the result of that fact is that there are quite a few of them on the market.  To me that means a lot of them likely won't be able to maintain their value over time--and the same could be said for many altcoins in general, whether PoS or not.

Depends on which coin you are talking about. Some coins you invest into could help you make a ton of money and can go up a lot, some coins you invest into will not make you any money and will cause you to lose a lot when the price goes down. Some coins you stake will make you earn something very small while also the price of it going down as well which means overall you will lose a lot of money, some coins you stake will not be bad and will give you a decent interest but also it will go up in price as well which will make you a ton of profit.

As you can see it is not about staking versus investing, it is more about doing a good research on which coin you buy because as long as you pick the right coin it doesn't matter how it is, in the end if its a good coin that means you will make a profit one way or another.

I think it is always depend on how you handle our emotions or maybe strategy on crypto feild. Because some coin is very high on volatility and sometimes coin will almost fall into zero value, that is why i believe the staking or investing is always depend on the movement of the price of every coin and earning is always depend on how we handle things on crypto.

^ I would recommend you do not use such investment sites which promises to trade your funds for you and reward you at certain periods.
what is the difference between staking and such sites, as well as whether there is such a risk.
In such sites you're handing you capital over to someone else to do with it as they please, in staking you buy a cryptourrency which is used to build a project and you lock it up, this is used to encourage people to hold their currency rather than dump it, hence the value is expected to increase, you also get a fixed reward at specific time intervals, based on the amount of the coins you're holding. Th advantage of staking is you own your coins and can always sell them after your stake duration expires.

Isn't it the same kind of risk?  You let 3rd party to hold your fund.  That is the endpoint and what I understand in your post.  Unless the platform is offering us greater staking rewards than us staking it by ourselves, I would recommend staking it by ourselves.

Oh btw, staking token is another kind of investment venture where we spend our money to gain profit.

Maybe, it is just like this:

The smaller the risk, the smaller the profit.
The higher the risk, the higher the profit.

In investments, risk is really much higher than staking and I found myself having a small progress in staking. My friends told me to swing in investing which is not my interest but they also told me that I will become more successful once I risk my money and invest it. But right now, I must say that it is much worth it that staking.

from both of these ways, I might prefer investment over staking. some staking coins move faster than investing. besides that, I might be used to investing instead of staking. even more so if it is an offline investment. it's just that, all back again to the object that is the place of investment.

I mean, by investing, you place your currencies in investment sites that give you a percentage of daily or monthly percentage profits. I see that staking is very similar to these sites. Also, as you know, there are risks in this type of investment, and my question is what is the difference between staking and such sites, as well as whether there is such a risk.
You mean hyip or ponzi that promises you a certain number of interest? Those are the only type of investment I know that gives you daily percentage of profit which is not advisable to be invested. It has a high risk of losing your money.
Staking is also a kind of investment that you need to invest first before you can start performing or staking and it is better than the investment that you are asking about.

The open blockchain platform Harmony has announced that it will start supporting staking from now, in an effort to create a blockchain-based infrastructure.
source: https://www.harmony.one/
Of course, as I know, there are many exchanges that support staking.
I want to fully understand what is staking and what are the best coins and platforms that we can do staking and give good profits?

My most important question: Which is better, staking or investing?
Staking a coin in long term will give good interest rate so it will results in good profit as well but in mean while the value of the coin shouldn't get depreciate or it will end up in loss.In my opinion I won't suggest staking because we can't liquidate our funds if the value is going red due to market condition or any other reason so always hold your funds and trade them according to your benefits.

Certainly not Ponzi, but I do not know if it is called Hyip. The investment I am talking about is by registering at some sites and then depositing some coins on the site and then getting a percentage of the profits on a daily or monthly basis.
I have subscribed to some of these sites and have been defrauded so I am asking if staking is safer than this.

I think the risks in staking is much higher than outright investing yourself. You obviously need to invest a lot more time when doing your own research and chosing which coins to buy. And you will also lose some money sometimes but in the end it's better to have some bad picks which will be outweighted by your good picks then having to risk to be defrauded. If you end up stacking a scam you could lose everything. Better to full control of your investments. Except if you have to much money and don't know where to put it, then diversifying could help.

If you are investing just to hold the tokens and coins then its best to just stake them and make it grow than just hold it in your wallet. Wallets after all has the capability of staking your coins.

Unless the tokens going to be sent somewhere before you can stake but it doesn't normally work that way. Staking can be done in your wallet that you own the privatekey, there is less risk to this.

If some people has a conviction in certain coins that in coming time that coins will grow 2x, 5x etc then investing in such coins is highly beneficial because you will buy those coins and hold it. And once the price rises you make a good profit from it and yield high returns as you had invested in the right coin. So if one can find the good coins then buy on dips is a much better idea.

So with Staking, once you buy coin and you are in the process of staking it to gain
rewards, much better than holding
Since you are expecting stake rewards while also waiting for the value to pumped up.

And once the price rises you make a good profit from it and yield high returns as you had invested in the right coin.

That's right, both staking and holding will bring you decent profits when pumped happened.

So if one can find the good coins then buy on dips is a much better idea.

That's the job you need to do in order to really enjoy the benefits.

Of course, as I know, there are many exchanges that support staking.
I want to fully understand what is staking and what are the best coins and platforms that we can do staking and give good profits?

My most important question: Which is better, staking or investing?

I do think we should realize one thing :
Both Staking and Investing comes with considerable risks but at the same time both can very easily give you a good profit margin if worked with correctly.

Staking does have its own risks but so does Investing. Plus it also depends on the user , how he plans on working towards it and how much time he can spare for the same.

Investing can be for long term or short term and does not require much time engagement. But at the same time the services or the cryptocurrencies you are investing in are mostly well recognized and for sure won't fail 80% of the time.

Whereas with staking , you might have to pay the price of heavy competition , there are so many cryptocurrencies in the market that most of them are bound to fail and remain as Altcoins that no one really knows about. Which tends to pay a negative effect on their values . Therefore I do think staking might be risky , we also have many scams in this area therefore you have to be really careful and check regularly about the company before making your move.

With staking you have to worry about :
Competitors
Scams
Popularity in the future etc.

With investing you have to take care of :
Long term holding vs short term holding risks
Market might be obsolete in the future
Needs time for maturation and giving good profit
Etc..

:3 both are beneficial , why not do 50-50?
