Hey guys ! be aware of post from Binance twitter because Binance twitter account has been hacked

This is indeed shocking to see that one of the biggest crypto company binance has failed to keep their accounts safe from hacking, usually some former or current employee could be involved so binance should take this seriously and investigate it so that it should not happen again.

This just shows people need to be very security concern when it comes to online security, if Binance could be hacked this way what about normal jack in the space, I do pity some of these so called crypto influencers flaunting their crypto profit on tweeter this just make them a hot target for hackers

Some time ago I had seen a CZ tweet about someone who wanted to take over his Twitter account, and now it happened. I think the binance team will solve this problem quickly because it's about their reputation and their account is used to deceive/scam the community. And the CZ reply is also deleted/blocked.
Edit: How can this happen at the same time, many accounts have been hacked.

their security failed, how they expect that people should believe their exchange security, if they cannot secure their twitter accounts
nevertheless, one should be careful with all information related to any giveway of such a huge amount, it is usually fake

status not found, I'm not too worried about social media activities. but sometimes the market is influenced by their status. like yesterday's tiktok doge case.

These hackers have been targetting these big names for quite some time now. I believe that they already succeeded before it was made public or evident to all. They only just made those giveaway posts almost at the same time. Many would have fallen victim. I think twitter management should do something about it. At least, i believe that they also know the real owners of those accounts.

Lots of large Twitter accounts are hacked, is this the user's negligence or from the Twitter side that has a problem with their system, I hope this problem does not have a bad effect on the prices of all altcoins, and I am still waiting for an answer from Twitter about this problem

All of big accounts were getting hacked and someone has already made a full list for the accounts that have already hacked by the scammers. it looks like it's not only crypto related account but account that owned by big guy too.

You misunderstood it, it was not the account was hack, it was the service platform - Twitter that was breach.

And not just crypto related accounts, there are accounts that have been pushed by cyber criminals including high profiles like Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos and many more. And this is the fault of Twitter itself because obviously, there are security lapses here.

So most probably those malicious tweets, not only of Elon's but also from the other affected accounts, are deleted already. We can now relax, but I hope this will not happen ever again because not only their reputations are ruined. Of course, the most affected here are the stupid (people who can be deceived easily) investors :(. 

Twitter should take this as a serious matter that they need to solve as soon as possible before the other account gets hacked. People need to be careful to access twitter, and they need to protect their accounts. If twitter failed to solve this, that would be doom for twitter because their user will leave them, and never use twitter again. If many twitter accounts get hacked at the same time and the same problem, that means twitter has a hole or bug in their server, and they need to fix it.

It doesn't have correlation with the security of their exchange sites. The account can be hijacked when you know how to steal the information that being used to sign in into the account. I think that you must remember twitter has a very weak security compared with other platform.

This is not just an attack which is exclusive to cryptocurrency-related accounts. Aside from the accounts of Binance, Gemini, Coinbase, etc the accounts of Joe Biden, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Barack Obama, Kim Kardashian, Wiz Khalifa, etc are also victims of the same attack. 

This is a proof that centralized social media should start shifting to decentralization.

Indeed, very many victims of this hack, even people who are not in the crypto space. But what makes me confused is, Twitter security or indeed a great hacker. So you can do that for large Twitter users like Binance or others. And another question is, besides asking for donations. What is the purpose of hackers doing this?

for your information that not only Popular Exchange account was hacked, there is plenty named Ceo of Big company twitter were hacked to, you cant say that their exchange security is low, what i can see on this case is Twitter Security has been break and to many actor and even barack obama twitter account has been hacked ! twitter need to improve their security regarding this case.

Really very sad to hear about the news twitter accounts being hacked, I don't know why hackers target the twitter account. I never thought that twitter will provide low security to their customers and twitter should improve their security level in order to protect user accounts.

It's easy to see, there's nothing free in this market. Hopefully no one will foolishly trust these posts and send money to those addresses. BTW I see they have restored their accounts, those posts have been deleted

so far i checked on the address that they are using for this scam, the hacker already received about 12 bitcoin or worth  $117,361.10 USDT which its very crazy that he can collect that big fund within hour for hacking verified twitter account and spread the fake tweet.

Damn it, so there are still a lot of people who trust and send money to that address. Obviously they need to raise awareness in this market, there is absolutely nothing free in this market. Especially good offers like that

P.S. This is coming from a shared FB post. Someone asked him to give the exact blockchain address to track it, but replied that he needs to scan the code to see the ongoing activity. Or you can type this address manually.

This is a vulnerability from the twitter itself and individual addresses has nothing to do over it. The hackers are capable of hacking whatever account they can. So the twitter just blocked every verified accounts from making twitts and deleted any previous ones made after the hack first surfaced. It's one of the largest breach of data as the hackers were able to view every personal message and info like emails and phone numbers. And by asking BTC, the hackers have defamed crypto once again.

because those people that send money think that the tweet they see is legitimate because it came from original account. Even how good to be true they said it as long as they trusted it they will send money to that address, and they don't know that Twitter account is hacked.

Its  a lesson to be learn for big exchange to secure everything not only their exchange but the account connected in them in different platform they used.

Mostly people were thinking if that comes from the official account before some parties and owners have announced the incidents that happened with all of the twitter accounts. It looks like the scammer was targeting it.

Some people said it is more than that and approximately 12 BTC if iam not mistaken and already moved to another address. it's actually quite silly how people could easily believe something thats floating around internet without making some research or contacting the person for clarification. so many btcs wasted for nothing.

This is really terrible and shocking.... It so hard to believe that Binance account can be hacked. I know must people will send money to that btc account since it is a tweet from binance account. People just need to be security conscious o especially online transaction.

That's nothing too dangerous to worry about! The security of the social platforms isn't in those companies hand! It belongs to Twitter team. Therefore, it's not too hard to understand why their pages can be hacked. However, look at the post, do you ever think that experienced traders and investors would belive in that kind of posts? I don't think so, the reason is that it's just too good to be true!

Binance is not supposed to be blamed, what about other prominent Twitter accounts which were hacked? There is supposed to be a form of 2FA on Twitter, which I haven't used or seen, so the blames should go to Twitter not binance. If this can happen to twitter, it can as well happen to exchanges hence the need for keeping funds in personal wallets. However, if 2FA was used, only very few hackers can bypass that.

It's not even about shifting to decentralized social media, but upgrading security. How many decentralized social media platforms are mainstream? A lot need to be done in that aspect. Talking about those who got scammed by those tweets, I can't really say I feel pity for them because they allowed their greed to take whole of them. Why will anyone in his right senses think coinbase, Binance, Gemini etc will be part of money doubling, send 1BT receive 2BTC lol, sounds vague.

I think it is a combination of both twitter security hole and some nice hacking skills on the part of the scammers. If they can do that to the accounts of these people, they could definitely also do the same to other accounts. But what for? They won't gain much money hacking ordinary people's accounts.

And the hacker's purpose? I think it is money more than anything else.

this is the first time I have seen an incident like this, this is really a severe scammer incident, all verified accounts on Twitter are hacked, I hope the price of Bitcoin may not go down sharply because of this

Yes, I agree with you, Binance is the market leader and they have to take this thing seriously and immediately implement the higher securities so that it won't happen again. As well before CZ twitted so many people had clicked on that link and they may have faced some consequences that's why Binance has to take massive actions to protect themselves for such thing.

We are hereby requesting for the decentralization of twitter as a social media platform to allow for cases of hack not to repeat itself again in the future. it was recorded that a bug in in the program was saving password as keylog before encryption to deprive staff from having access but the bug opened it a few months before the hack.

This is the main issue with centralised system, even if the person in control of the system has no evil intention when act the bad actor can use the God mode to cause atrocity, there were a lot of post on twitter that I saw that if the hacker decided to use the mode in their suggested way we might be talking about world war 3. We need a decentralised social platform that can prevent such attack

All twitter accounts were basically hacked. If you account wasn't hacked that means they didn't want your account to begin with, they had access to everyone. It wasn't a hack that was from outside to each account, it was a hack that was from inside to outwards to every single account.

It means they had access to every single account ever, and that means exchanges would be affected by it as well. Hell Barrack Obama, the most recent ex-president of the biggest nation in the world got affected by it, how do you think you couldn't? I mean dude that is planning to send people to mars with his spacex got hacked, that dude must have security technology that is not even available to us. Basically that is why exchange twitter accounts being hacked wasn't that big of a deal at all.

How could that possibly be? like with these hacks, it's easier for the twitter staff to detect it quickly but they haven't. Also, in decentralized platform, there could be another problem that shall pop out which can be abused by these people that have bad intentions.
Even if it's a centralized or decentralized social media platform, there will be pros and cons.

They said it was planned and it was an inside job where all the top exchange got hacked their twitter account, so we must have a strong security or maybe decentralized twitter no one can control unlike centralized they always got hacked it was a good idea if it was decentralized we will see if they are going to be hacked on it.

I think so, it will never possible to happen when there was help from the insider of twitter to give an access into the internal software. It looks like twitter is also clarifying it right now.

Haven't you seen the Bitcoin address? It has like more than 12 BTC already, so obviously the damage has been done to people and Twitter itself. It was even reported that their stocks has suffered because of the incident.

That is their "official" twitter account, meaning they are reliable and verified accounts. Yes it is fishy but how can people filter this out if if come from verified accounts? And it was also reported that the hacker/s was able to get inside thru an employee's control panel that why it's very for them to take over those high valued twitter accounts.

I wonder why people are still sending money given that there's hacking incident exposed. Or have they been rekt before this situation is exposed? There are many gullible users out there so these scammers will really try their best to rip money from them.

This news will not affect the price of bitcoin and people aware of the situation that was still happening with those twitters accounts. Twitter and some parties have already worked hard to fix it as soon as possible. we will know what will be the result of it

i think this accident will make bitcoin or cryptocurrency be more popular again, no matter there is many victim due this accident. we see many verified twitter account which is not rellated crypto could bring new investors from their followers. cryptocurrency will take more advantages in future when more people know about crypto.

Not only Binance but there are many other Crypto Richest people account which were hacked. I read many tweets by Binance CEO he said must verify even your closest friend account whenever he/she wants some financial help from you in Crypto or fiat money transfer.

follower from this account that not rellated with cryptocurrency will make this market known by more people.although this popular account will harmed alot cause as if this is their real tweet. this scammer reason in my opinion not only about money, but they have special reason behind on it. alot of news site discuss about this accident .

i think gemini is not the only one that  was involved in the hacked because if you can see the channel of youtube user was renamed to a different name and the added video was from a different crypto  .

I recalled this a while back.  Did clicking on the link automatically get you malware/trojan/keylogger or virus?  Or you still had to send some coins to them in order to get hacked?  Did any software automatically download when clicking on those links?
