I have noticed them but not only this time but even during the old times, there were scams countless times. They never give up and even up to now, they are still spreading their scheme throughout the cryptocurrency communities. The twitter account scam that promoted scams, I don't have updates with them but if I have to read one update from them then it should be that Twitter has already done their part to tracked the person responsible for that ruckus.

Anytime BTC begins massive upward movement, expect scammers to come out from their shelves hunting for gullible greedy people. Imagine I got a call today from a friend, telling me that he got a mail to login to a fake blockchain wallet and get returns just by storing his BTC in the wallet, stating is an, upgraded version lol. We just have to be careful in this bull season.

The fraudsters are always innovative and always think of something new. I think for experienced people it is not a problem to recognize such scam giveaways, but for newcomers it is sometimes difficult to see where is real and where is wrong.

The amount of such scam giveaway increases when the bitcoin market continues to go up. Because when the bitcoin market starts to go up, there is a lot of talk about bitcoin, so new people come to the crypto market. And the main target of these scammers is the newbie. Newbies come to the crypto market with plans to get rich quick. As a result they participate in such giveaways for quick profit and send the money to scammers. So scammers take advantage of this opportunity.

If they hadn't benefited from this kind of scam giveaway, they wouldn't have come up with one new website after another. So I will tell everyone that now that the market is going up, you have to check it well before entering any kind of website.

The scam giveaway does not happen only this year.  There had been lots of the same scam for several years now, its that it just made its bold move when it hijacks several known twitter accounts and tunnels their scams through those accounts.  The scam is obviously planned but the movement of BTC going up has nothing to do with these scams.

True as you said in the moment of BTC price increase there is always a person who exploits the situation to deceive many people.  In the case of Twitter account hacking, there was a leak of Twitter data at that time, I think the fraud mode was in the name of the owner of a well-known Twitter account and there was no connection with the surge in BTC prices today.

I think all of this was already planned and they chose this good time where bitcoin moves up to deceive a huge number of greedy people from these scam giveaways, who have no experience in crypto and only who trust in famous and influential people blindly trust without thinking and studying things very seriously, This is a harsh lesson for those who lost their money in these scam giveaways, so that they learn that there is no quick profits.

Scammers will try and try again and the bad thing is, they are growing everyday. Since a lot of people see that they can screw naive individuals without risking their identity, they found a good breeding ground to hold their operations. That is the drawback of crypto, as they can launch their projects anonymously or give rewards, promos or any giveaway without giving their true identities, they can get away without a trace. So it is only up to the user if he will be lured with these too-good-to-be-true offers.

Scam giveaways have been around for a long time now which are mostly seen in social media channels starting with twitter. Also the social media hack that happened was something that was planned by the hackers and also owing to the fact they know most people are greedy when it comes to giveaways, they leveraged that tactics hence they succeeded. Also, although I might not have noticed the rising number of scam giveaways because I hardly pay attention to them, but I think you are making a good point, that is, with Bitcoin surging high scammers will look for ways to acquire more of it, thus bringing out more scam giveaways, airdrops etc

This is so true! Scammers are getting more and more sophisticated tricks that we can't know all of them. Therefore, spreading the awareness about scam through out the market is very important. One of the reasons that scammers are back to the market because the market is recovering and many people are coming back to the market. It's a good chance for scammers to take advantage of!

if people want to earn they can invest safely using the traditional way and there is no need to rush things and take risk on what we see daily or  on offers by some random dudes or randoms ads on the net .

The only thing that we can do to prevent the scam giveaways is to be careful. If you find or see some offers that you think it's good to be true, you need to check more news to find out if that is true or not because nothing will give by free without you do something. There is no double bitcoin if you send your bitcoin to the scammers because they will run away with your money without giving back your money. You will see so many offers saying we can help you to double your bitcoin, but the fact that it is a fake offer.

From then until now, scams and hacks are still here, especially in the crypto space and they will remain in the future ... But there are many ways to avoid them. First, you must have sufficient knowledge to determine if it is a scam or not. You are good if at first glance it is suspicious and will definitely be ignored. If you find out that a scam is spreading, let the public know so that others can avoid it, that way you have helped.

Seems just coincidence. There are a lot of scams in crypto universe since many years ago, it's part of the attractive crypto nature: it attracts investors, investments, a lot of money, but it also attracts scammers.
What can change is the scammers' approach, as the methods used by them become dried really fast, so they have to be changing it very frequently. It can be the reason why you are seeing more scams related to giveaways nowadays, but once it gets noticed they will surely move to another tactic.

For perpetrators of criminal acts both hackers, fraud, theft, forgery and so on, They have a group not alone, they have the task of organizing all strategies until it works.

which, I know hacking is done for months not a week or two weeks, if they hack someone's Twitter account, they have mastered the phone number, tweet, password, email etc., when the account will be hacked.
Usually they do that in the time leading up to achieving the peak / success as is the case with Bitcoin, they don't want to stay in the account for a long time.

So, in my opinion, rampant hacking, currently carried out by people who are not responsible for the social accounts of the highest officials, was planned well in advance.

Not really just now. Even before these types of scam do exist already but this time they become wiser and more tricks have been added on their method. I think they are using even funds to trick their victims saying that some already send funds but the truth is that are also their fund using other wallet to make it looks like a real one.

Most scams happened on social network like facebook, twitter and lastly youtube. If you are not aware of the Twitter incident lots of personality have been used and many got scammed.

Scam Giveaway targeted for new people in crypto where they are not familiar with the correct giveaway system, usually a giveaway scam requires a deposit or give a PK (Private Key) from the wallet that they have which certainly requires funds in the wallet, that's why we need to continue to learn and educate people who are new in crypto.
Did it happen because of the rising BTC prices? It could be because when the price up is usually also the popularity of BTC will rise.

From what I have seen during the last 3-4 years, the incidence of scamming and hacking goes up every time when there is a spike in the Bitcoin/Altcoin exchange rates. Now the prices have moved up by almost 20% during the last few days, and we need to be extra cautious. Also, look out for exchanges, some of whom are going to close down all of a sudden.

But i believe that people in crypto now are already warned and will never take their baits.

Scammers are increasing in numbers as the Bitcoin market goes up, there might be new people in crypto who started investing who is an easy target for this seasoned scammers. Those who are already experienced are less likely to fall as victim in this kind of scheme, that is why crypto awareness should be spread to help those who are unaware of this scheme.

Scammers always utilize the current market situation to fool people. Just be cautious and aware and never ever trust easy money. Keep in mind that no one will give you a chance to earn easy money, crypto market is risky, there is no such thing as free or easy money in crypto.

Though there were some surge in giveaways this year, but this has been happening before too probably not with the level of scam with which we have now.  The truth is that, people are looking for money and a way of living and they are trying all possible means to get this.  You can participate in giveaways if you have spare time but DON'T put any of your money or asset there whether for claiming or something related because greater percent of them are not real.

That is a no brainer. As the market goes up, scammers activities go up too. The newbie mostly fall prey. I still can’t see the correlation between the recent social media hacks and the recent movement of the market. It seems pretty coincidental that after the hacks, market started going up. Probably, just a coincidence.

scam giveaways were already exists and it's not new. Most of the victims were newbies so even we warned those people to not participate it but they still hooked by big ROI or doubling their bitcoin.

Newbies did not becomes usually a victims of scammer, because they don't have spare money to spend. But who usually become a victim - old, experiences and senior members, who "saw and know everything" in this World. And they believe in their knowledge so much, so they do not believe they might me scammed.

I don't think it is because the price of crypto is increasing that cause increase in number of scam giveaway. Most of this scam use the same script that has been reportedly used before so I believe other scammers are using the same just because some of the reported ones are successful. Meaning some fell for the scam. Such media attention makes other hackers to look for other means of perpetuating this evil

For example, YouTube is very slow to respond to reports, and sometimes does not respond at all, almost every day I see ads for another scam distribution, I think that YouTube just does not care about its users.
Actually it does not matter, but because there are so many users that it takes time to be responded one by one, because the YouTube platform is very advanced and popular, so it requires a little patience in waiting for a response from them.

They are partly to blame on that because they are not quick to take action and one more they allow ads of these scam giveaways I saw a lot of ads on youtube about these scams giveaways and people might think that those ads are legit because they allow it to be shown in their platform, they do not have a regulatory board to screen those ads.

The hacks were before Bitcoin's moving price so I can't say that scam giveaways contribute to this increase. Bitcoin is already well-known and popular among technology enthusiasts on social media like twitter, youtube, facebook,... So it isn't because of social media in this case, I think. We need to wait for a bit to see how this Bitcoin's pump going to understand why all of this thing happened.

A lot of them are appearing seems the trend now is focused on bitcoin price and the other top altcoins. which makes those scammers think of strategies on how they will fool those poor new investors who happened not to be familiar with their schemes. Nowadays, as soon as those scammers try to lure some new investors to their bait, we need to warn as many people as we could to prevent them from falling to these filthy scammers. No matter what kind of fake giveaways are there as soon as we post it here and prevent our newbie members from joining, their plan will not be a success and they will get nothing in return.

there must be many theories for that, if indeed it was a conspiracy it means it was already planned. the goal is to make a big pump against certain coins, say bitcoin and it aims to benefit certain parties.

This scheme comes like a ponzi scheme that promises unreasonable profits such as giveaway from some well-known Elon Musk, CZ etc. I am also worried that many investors will be fooled by things like this and even a lot of catches that occur in this forum about trending coins like tron there are still many ponzi schemes with high rewards and naturally the layman will be interested in this bulging investment.
Every time there is a trend in the market, the scamer will do the action the way they do it.

I'm particularly worried about the incessant hacking of social media accounts. I understand, it's not a new scheme but it's rather very rampant this days and I feel something may have ignited this anomaly. Maybe it's the increase in the value of Bitcoin or something else I cannot fathom.

I don't think it's planned or something since even before the halving, there's already a lot of fake or scam giveaways happening in big social media platforms. It's just that, there was a recent hacking incident with big accounts on twitter. Now we are seeing more victims falling with this scamming because almost everyone is on their social media accounts that's why scammers and hackers are using this as an opportunity. As for the victims, I think the current pandemic also contributes because people need more income that's why they are being greedy and easily believing in giveaways.

It could be that they are the people that's hard to stop. Even the scheme is the same and they're all doing the same scam, there will be victims that will fall for them.
People should not be encouraged with those too good to be offers, they must have the sense of curiosity why those offers are giving them the benefit as good as it can be. That's how they attract victims and people who never experienced it should take caution on it.

This is an accumulation of several factors, first, bitcoin and the crypto world are increasingly popular and known to the public, so this is increasingly being used by fraudsters. Secondly, the difficult situation in the pandemic makes most people easily provoked by the lure, it cannot be denied that many things have changed including reduced salaries, narrowed employment, and many other difficulties, so many people are hoping for "miracles" like that. Third, social media has a big influence in today's life, many influential people use and communicate using social media, this has become part of the lifestyle of modern society. So when there was a case of massive hacking on Twitter some time ago it was quite horrendous, moreover, the verified accounts that were targeted, the effect, would be broader because the verified accounts were mostly influencers.

So, we should be really careful. Be sure to analyze it first. If there is a give away that requires you to make a deposit first, you should leave it immediately.

Whatever happens to cryptocurrency, we shouldn't follow any scam giveaways. It will be harder to find new scam projects in the BTC bull market. Scam projects or scam giveaway are also looking for market conditions. This isn't any coincidence, when investors are higher than before, scammers are also high.

This is not just first time i saw before scammers hack crypto influences account and scammed people. I'm yet to understand why people still get deceive with giveaways. It's rather apparent that nobody wakes up to give substantial amount of money simply because you're a follower. I believe that the reason we still have persons getting deceived is simply because of greed and naivety.

I think that is because they still have a target with the new people who don't have much information about bitcoin. And they think that with the bitcoin giveaways, they can get many satoshis, so they send some amount to get more amount. But if they know that the bitcoin giveaways is not true, they will think twice to send their balance because they will use for another way to make more satoshi than to join with the giveaways.

It is very possible that there are lots of scammers around giving us businesses with good earnings especially at this time that there are many of us felt the hardness in life due to pandemic. Many got scams also because of joining investments that gives very high earnings without knowing and thinking that its scam. Like me a risktaker who will try to join HYIP hoping to earn more but now I have learned a lot from this scam experience.

This is the truth! Scammers are looking for our mistakes and fool us. Therefore, being calm and wise in this market is a need. The biggest reason why many people got fooled by scammers is that they don't have enough knowledge and experience to identify the trap! Some of them are just too greedy and want to make big profits in a short period of time. That's why they got fooled!

Scamming has been happening already in the previous years and it becomes more rampant today as more people are entering the crypto market but scamming has no connection with the bullish market of bitcoin. So we should be more careful and cautious in everything we do and be more responsible in keeping safe all our assets because its always been the target if scammers.

true, fraud does not only occur when bitcoin experiences an upward movement, but fraud has been around for a long time, all we have to do is be careful if you want to invest in a new project, because fraudsters will certainly do everything they can to trap investors

I think scam giveaways have happened a lot in the past year or maybe I guessed wrong? with the rising price of Bitcoin today many people are looking for ways to get rich quick or commit fraud. the conclusion is never to be tempted by a large prize being promoted in a giveaway because it's just bullshit. of course it was not a coincidence and that's it was indeed planned by damn scammers.

No, you are not wrong. Scam giveaways still happen until now, and that trick can get many new targets because many new people don't have much knowledge about the giveaways. Those people need to learn more about giveaways, and they should search for the other news that the giveaways are fake. We need always to be careful, don't follow or join with the giveaways offer, and always check the news from another website, so we know if that is real or fake.

The only ones affected by such schemes are beginners who do not have much knowledge of the crypto world. They always rely on easy and quick income. They are lazy and do not yet know that they must first research whether they should enter what they see as an opportunity.

I know right. Scamming is like their profession. Whenever there is a hype in the market, they get back to work planning about new tactics and schemes to make people fall into their trap. Although, they need to be more creative in order to trick people now as most of the community has already been through such situations and have learned their lesson. New investors are the one who fall for such trap.

Twitter regained the access to those accounts and found out that the hackers might also have downloaded the personal data of the targeted people among which were Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and President Barack Obama. So of course, a serious investigation will be launched and the hackers will be caught.

Like the biblical warning — When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." Luke 21:28. In the light of this perspective, that redemption is of Bitcoin blossoming. Whenever this (Bitcoin) redemption is about to come upon the industry (from history), scammers always come up with diverse ways to hype it and scam naive minds. In fact, I have come to notice that scammers hype and tie various promotions around every crypto that's about to have a good run. It's the easiest way I know this and the best decision will be to buy in at the time.

When Bitcoin's price is moving up, scammers see this as an opportunity for them to do their work again and that is to scam people.

If there are no investors who are dumb enough to fall into these common ways of scamming people then scammers will get nothing to these. The problem is there are ignorant investors who are falling easily to these scam attempts. Quite unfortunate for them but as I always say, investors will not learn if they will not experience it. What's worse is if they fell to the same scam again after falling for it one time. That is pure bullshit already.

Yes, as happened some time ago, but I heard that the address of the recipient of bitcoin is considered a blockchain as a place to send wrong, so I feel that the wallet will be locked or may be sent back to all submitters by the blockchain, I really do not know for sure what that will happen with the bitcoin recipient's wallet but I hope the blockchain can overcome this problem, and as a hacker I don't think it's ready yet because it focuses all bitcoin senders on only one wallet.

Yes, you don't have to say "Believe in me" because people who believe in you don't need much explanation about this, because they already fully believe what you say, and who hates you will never care about all of your words. , although this is true.

you do not need to believe in people in the cryptocurrency market because even your close friends do not always know what they are doing. many people believe and buy coins they know nothing about it and then lose money

Scam giveaways have always been since the beginning of time, and people keep getting duped. It feels like there are always people in search of giveaways and when they see one, they fall out flat. I don't think it has anything to do with the present increase in Bitcoin. It's more of a coincidence for you to notice them much more now.

Do people notice that these scam giveaways are just happening this year after the halving and many social media hacks are happening
are all these planned because people are tempted to give in and fall in this scam giveaways because of the big bonus
Bitcoin is now moving up and so many social media of popular people are hacked, is this coincidence or planned.

You know why people getting scammed? It's because they are also have a mind like scammer. Scammer like an instant money and people also want instant money or double profit that's why they fall into the tricks of scammer. Don't be greedy or just do enough research before believing and joining such giveaways scam strategy.

Scammer only try to manipulate people, they can't force people. So the final decision comes from themselves. If they think clearly that there is no quick way to get rich in crypto, they can't be scammed. Only people who have the mindset quick rich can be fall in scam giveaways

And you must to know, giveaways is free, if the requirement must send money before send reward, of course that is scam giveaways

I remember someone who has been creating his own thread and he has said that if he was getting fooled by his friend to buy a coin at a very high price and he was getting a big loss caused by that.
Even our close person can fool us too.

Scammer is everywhere

Giveaways are free that's why people are joining it because of the chance to win and earn free money. We could not stop these scammers the only thing that we could do is to avoid and not joining of these obvious scam. Even bitcoin moving up we must be careful.

These scammes know what they are doing, they know that in a bear market people will be dumping their tokens and leave the space but in a bull market new people are entering the space looking for quick profit because they have heard about how someone made 10X investing in one project. Newbies are those that are liable to fall victim of these

well because of this many investors are disappointed with cryptocurrency because they are exposed to scams and stuck at high prices, investors should be more vigilant when they want to buy a token or coin do not buy when prices are rising and do not let you be tempted by a green bar.

These types of scams are not something new to the market. They are observed every year with some different tactics.
Last year, scammers used to make fake telegram account of Binance and organize fake giveaways claiming to double the sender’s amount. This year it’s the twitter accounts that have been hacked and are claiming to double the sender’s bitcoin amount.

They are planned that’s for sure but not for some specific occasions. They tend to take place from time to time and nothing can be done about it except increasing the security and staying smart enough to toggle such situations.

His usual gift fraudsters are looking for someone very new to the cryptocurrency world with their easy fraud on those new people. What kind of effort is appropriate for people who are new to cryptocurrency are not subject to fraud?

Scamming and hacking are done with intention to cheat. Scammers want your money and they would do their illegal business that time you can't have a clue and the time of plenty because you are more relaxed. Well maybe the bitcoin bull might not be part of it but there is high possibility for that to also be a reason.

Unfortunately scam is something that is part of our lives, there is really not that much we can do to actually change that but what we can do is just accept it and move on without really worrying too much about it, if you can't change something and you can't stop that thing, all you can do is ignore it and move on.

Now if you get scammed, that is a bad thing and you would care, and I know that you would want someone to stop you as well, if you are about to get scammed and someone wrote something here saying they are scammers you would probably be thankful to them, so if you are happy that someone else stopped you, that means you should aim at stopping others and helping them as well right?

Well, that is an ethical dilemma but you are not forced to, just because there are people out there helping others doesn't mean you have to do that too, you can just ignore scammers and move on.

Under the guise of another growth in cryptocurrency and attracting new users, the scammers again activated their deception schemes. Mostly newcomers come across, because those who have already encountered this, the second time here will not come to a rake. You have to be careful.

There is a strong motive for scammers to make a scam as they become greedy with the increase of Bitcoin's price. But I think it just a coincidence as they found some exploit on twitter and social media to carry out their bad deed.

Guess the hacker also wants to have Bitcoin after seeing some sign indicate price moving forward and market recovery. Who knows, maybe they're also a crypto follower and want to invest in crypto by utilizing their hacking skill to get it. Nothing is just a coincidence.

I have seen quite a lot flying around in every corner of the crypto space, one Important thing most people should know is that, scammers don't joke with any slight opportunity, that is, once they see an opportunity to scam they leverage on it without wasting time. Bitcoin and in fact most top coins like Ethereum has been growing massively for the past few days now and that is a good reason for scammers to bring in fake giveaways and because most people are greedy, they always fall for it. Another reason to be careful of scam giveaways is due to Defi projects hype, that is, scammers will also use it to achieve their aims. Therefore, let everyone be contented and be careful of these giveaways.

The crypto scene and scams were always going hand in hand.
Those fake giveaways where you have to send a certain amount to an adress to get it 10x back are around for years now.
At the moment it's always a fake Elon musk who wants you to do that  :)

Yes the fake giveaway is one of the easiest and favorite option for the hackers and the used to do it for the years. But this time they brought a new level they hacked the twitter accounts rather than making a fake one. And there are lot of fake giveaway youtube streaming to scam the newcomer crypto investors.

This not planned; instead, it's a common scheme nowadays. Because whenever Bitcoin price shows an uptrend, scammers come out from whole and try to scam greedy people! I think these Scam giveaways make a negative impact on cryptocurrency; this is not a coincidence in any way!

Fake giveaway or scam giveaway has been around for a while, maybe you are just noticing. It is very common on social media especially on Facebook and Twitter. They create profile pages similar to any popular project or a popular personality. Novices and newbies, new crypto adopters just need to know how to identify and avoid them. And greed level should be properly checked from time to time.

Scam giveaways are not giveaway, they require you to send some coins to them.
They fake promising that they will give you multiple times from the coin you sent to them, which is clearly scam for me, not giveaway.
Just keep in mind that every giveaways that asking to send coin is scam.

Some scam giveaways might not necessarily ask you to send funds in order to receive double or so. Some will require you to login/import to maybe a cloned blockchain wallet in order to claim your giveaway, meanwhile they will use that medium to steal your private keys or mnemonic phrase. This is just one of the many other instances. But why do people still fall for obvious crypto scams, so annoying.

the fraudsters also use this hysteria to lure newbies and cryptoenthusiast who are careless, stealing money with increasingly neat and varied motives. like the case of the hacking of the company and influential people in twitter official account a few weeks ago. we absolutely cannot trust any give away that requires you to make a deposit first, then it will be returned 200%. I once said this to the cheater that my DM was telegraphed: "I don't have money to deposit, what if you give me 50% of it?"
lol
and the cheater is no longer replying to my chat.
so, be careful ... keep using logic and don't be easily provoked.
