Imagine if COVID-19 pandemic is no more and having travel plans to South Korea, we could visit this beach and pay Ethereum for entrance fee, etc. I just wish that this is not going to be the only beach resort to adopt Ethereum for payments.

Here in the Philippines, there are so many beaches and hidden paradise here. I just hope that one day these beaches around the world are going to adopt Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies.

The image of Ethereum and other cryptocurrency are not in good terms. Many scam/ponzi scheme are using cryptocurrency as mode of payment in there operations. I doubt that beaches in Philippines will adopt this payment method. South Korea is known for crypto friendly so I will not surprise that some beach resort will accept it because the majority on there business sector are accepting crypto same with Japan and Singapore.

Lastly, most the beach resort on the Philippines preferred cash as mode of payment. Actually only few resorts that accepting credit and debit cards and most of them are only high end resort which is only few.

Oh tha is good news for cryptocurrency users. Now ethereum has been already integrated into business and the system will do good usually because it has blockchain and there is no need to receive receipt for proof or for tracing if really a client pays or not the bill for entrance or the service of which the beach has offered. This will also make a way for a better service of establishment not only in the beach resort but also to other forms of establishment.

It's good to see mainstream adoption of crypto slowly growing, if a beach 🏖 can accept ETH for payments, then its a good step ahead. So many crypto projects like TRAVALA are trying in this regard, travelers paying for hotel resorts with crypto is made possible. Some other sectors are also fostering adoption but at a very slow rate. A lot need to be done before mainstream acceptance will skyrocket.

It will happen to other beaches and resorts soon. We can even book a flight and ticket paying with bitcoin. We're near to all of those possibilities and it is only a matter of time when. The real application of cryptocurrencies is inevitable for purchases like this.

That would be nice if they will acknowledge the use of cryptocurrencies as a mode of payment so that it can lessen the possibility of transmitting germs and viruses especially nowadays that we are facing a pandemic. Let just hope and look forward for an innovation of the modality of payment.

Accepting eth right now even if you don't believe in the tech is a good business idea, because you can always turn them back to fiat if you want and you will lure potentially rich customers who want to use cryptos as payment.

This is great so we have found yet another use case for cryptocurrencies and this is just the start we will keep on hearing such news more and more as world is now encouraging to go cashless and use digital currencies for payments in post pandemic scenario.

Its very convenient  if this things happen here I am also looking forward to see this in the future .

Beach in countries with freezing temperatures isn't really appealing, I don't know if beaches in Korea but it seem a cold place. It's the beaches in Thailand, Malaysia, Hawaii, Indonesia, and the Philippines and the countries along the equator that has warm beaches that is worth paying ETH.

This is just a single resort while with the use of travala or other crypto based travel and booking apps you can pay with crypto at thousands of locations including hotels, resorts and motels.

Sad true. But it also be depends from how the beach owner understand the system, if they are well aware to that they will let the customer to know the implemented fees.
From that point, it will be a the customer's decision whether to continue using this crypto or use other payment process.
The good thing here is the owner are allowing ETH good start for adoptions.

I think that South korea is (as usual) one of the leader countries when it comes to crypto industry.

There is that house and lot that is sold for btc , hotels that accept btc, resort that accept btc , etc  . That's the time actually where many business opens up with btc and till today most of those business still accept btc and now accept other cryptos too .

Well that’s pretty good, they are adopting the crypto currencies and I think that is casual. There’s a lot of mode of payment. I already saw here in the Philippines that accepting Bitcoin as a payment. Also what if the price of the goods need to raise just to level the bitcoin, they will not earn when they sell their product the same as the amount of cash. I just wondering if you get the point.

I do not think that this will ever be practiced by the most companies, governments will not allow you to pay directly with cryptocurrency, only using the bridge.

adoption is real!! it is not only the beach in Haeundae will be accepting crypto.. there is also a collaboration between Keb Hana - one of the biggest commercial banks in South Korea and Korea Express Highway wherein they will be using blockchain-based toll system

I think the Ethereum is already in demand not only in the Philippines but instantly it is also usually used to all open country as a universal payment to all designated places not only beaches.

We should hopefully wait for the advancement of Cryptocurrencies in the field of amusements. It would really be nice to know that there are big establishments that are using the advantanges of Cryptocurrency and they are already using a big name in the Industry which is Ethereum. I think for transactions using ethereum can be one of the best payment alternatives, it's just that tour guides must be able to accept and understand how to make bitcoin withdrawals, really it's a very good place to enjoy the beauty of nature and relax.

Even though there is still a pandemic, we can now also travel and go to Korea. You just need to isolate yourself for days after landing in Korea before you can go out and enjoy it. Since there are no many COVID cases in that country, I think you can enjoy most tourist spots is and activities although they are still implementing some protocols.

But this is really good for them. It can help to attract tourists as well to recognize crypto as payment. Korea is also positive about crypto adoption which is good that businesses who accept crypto are growing. But with the situation in the Philippines, we still can't open most beaches due to the pandemic. Long back I have seen some forum member has shared about having a very good vacation time only with bitcoin payments; it included flight charges and hotels. I'm just foreseeing almost 60% service providers will be on adopting cryptocurrencies to hold their customer base. It is all speaking of convenience. The modern life is encouraging the kind of technology for the better living of humanity. Some countries don't even recognise night to be time for sleeping or resting but you can choose to work at night and rest during the day light. And so, technology has also brought p2p financial transaction which is the reason you can do certain transactions without banks being involved.

You guys do realize that expedia accepts bitcoin right? I mean you could literally hire a driver to pick you up from home to take you to airport, take a plane out to any country you want, hire a driver to pick you from airport to take you to hotel, stay at the hotel, hire a driver to pick you from hotel to drive to airport and take a plane back home and hire a driver to take you home all paid by bitcoin thanks to expedia. That is something legit, it has been around for years now, you could always do that. That doesn't mean hotels accept crypto, that means expedia takes crypto and pays the hotels in fiat, but it still means that this has been a thing for years. I have used it myself, went to a vacation paying airplane tickets and hotel with crypto myself but I paid what I spent there in fiat.

It’s very rare to find such, in fact I have not seen any place where Ethereum or any altcoins are being accepted as a method of payment, the only thing I have been seeing is just places where bitcoin is being accepted, this is the first time I’m seeing that Ethereum is being accepted for a payment.

Other beach resorts in that country that wants to compete with them might also start doing the same thing and before you know it a lot of places will start adopting it as people gets to know more about it. Well, that was really a good move for Ethereum adaption and promotion of its usage for we commonly see Bitcoin being used as a payment option but with this, Ethereum is the one being used and adapted to serve as payment option for resort accommodation. I am do also looking forward for Philippines to do the same thing since they do have a lot of beach resorts to offer which are totally beautiful and peaceful that will satisfy all our wants to get into a beach right after this pandemic. I think so too! But it will take much more time for cryptocurrencies to be worldwide recognized. A lot of private institutions accept big crypto such as BTC and ETH as a method of payment. However, nationally it hasn't been accepted yet. There are many difficulties for cryptocurrency to be worldwide recognized, one of those is that the low recognition rate and unpopularity.

During these days people are encourage to use a cashless system. With this payment accepting ethereum is good that there’s another resort accepting crypto as payment. But you know here in our country were far from that since a lot of factors to consider this kind of payment. The government should adopt this crypto so others will accept this kind of payment system.

There could be multiple reasons for people start adopting crypto for their day to day life and being secured and being convenient must be few other reasons along with going for cashless system. When we look into what we cannot do for crypto payment, fortunately I'm not finding any big list. Because there are many intermediate services are available these days for anyone to live out of only crypto payments. This way I'm seeing, the days of reaching mainstream adoption will not be too far.

Ethereum is money after all and already so many merchant accepting it and theres payment gateway that convert ETH to USD once the customer paid their invoice. If it means to advertise their resort and covering broader customer then adding Ethereum is a piece of cake however it's still a brave move for them to do that.

of course this is a very good choice because paying using ethereum will make it easier for everyone when you want to make transactions you don't need to use banknotes and the spread rate will be smaller because there is no direct interaction with humans and no harmful saliva splashes.

This is definitely a good thing, but even as a big ETH supporter, receiving payments in ETH would be quite a pain in the ass for now, for both, the seller and the tourist. Transaction speeds and costs are quite a sizable obstacle for broader adoption, but maybe those issues will vanish when the 2.0 is ready to roll out.

Yeah it seems like that way. It seems many establishment are fond of doing transaction now with cryptocurrency. I agree with you, xrp is a little transaction fee so its a good crypto for private services like this. If you used bitcoin as payment it will take time to received or worse within an hour, imagine the hassle when your payment doesnt arrive yet. Cant book any rooms for hotel? Something like that. Unless the owner using lightning network for payment maybe it could be more faster.

It's the hard truth and we are digesting it because when we pay low fees the transaction takes huge time to take place and that's why you always gonna have to pay extra fees to quick transactions.

The use of cryptocurrency to pay for goods and services is something great which is coming to limelight, gradually. I remember bitcoin was once accepted for payments in several institutions and companies, but lately ethereum is joining in the cryptocurrency used as a means of settling payments.

I think positively about covid 19, with covid this opens everyone's eyes, using crypto we can make indirect transactions, and one of them is payment at a resort in the Philippines using ETH to make transactions, hopefully this will happen in several other countries . so that more people and places will use cryptocureency.

Yes you're right. I agree that South Korea have so many plans about their country which related to cryptocurrency, recently I read some article regarding energy efficient projects that also related to cryptocurrency. They know that its a good thing to be a country that accept cryptocurrency is a good thing. Its good to know that some countries like these are open up to be active to accept cryptocurrency. They are some stores here in our country that accept bitcoin and ethereum. If this will continue, I know crypto will also help to the tourism sector but also the whole economy.

If we could get bitcoin to be something to be more like vacation thing, it could help the summer season a lot, and I mean a lot.

Think about it, I am not sure about this and I do not have data to prove it but I feel like there must be a ton of people who cash out their crypto to pay for a vacation as well, which means the price of bitcoin could go up or down but that still doesn't change the fact that there are people who sell their crypto for holidays. That is why I feel like if we could make vacationing something you can pay with crypto, that could result with people not selling their crypto and these places could get their crypto and if they sell they do no harm because it would be sold anyway but if they hold it at least there is a chance summers could be a lot more profitable.

if we want having travel plans to beach resort. Which is a crowded place, must carry out health protocols with discipline.

South Korea is a bit expensive and maybe colder. Philippines have one of the best and widest range of food and beaches in the Pacific.  I have always imagined of visiting beaches in Philippines. But money is always a hassle when you travel. Card don't always works and it's difficult to carry all in cash. If the South-East Asian tourist hub like Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines widely used crypto as a payment method, I bet the arrivals would double. We've seen many people doing crypto vlog on Bangkok but it's still difficult to live with crypto in many other regions.

I don't see any convenience from implementing Ethereum as payment, I'm currently using a contactless payment method for goods and services. But I am happy with the fact that cryptocurrency is being introduced step by step as payment in many areas of our lives.

It will increase the usage of Ethereum in the world now. Don't sell your Ethereum at low price, it will lose your money.

They probably chose Ethereum because it provides faster transactions with lower fees, but unfortunately, they didn´t expect the DeFi hype that is connected with overwhelmed blockchain that doesn´t provide faster transactions for lower fees.  :D

A beach accepting Ethereum as payment? That’s really great. I think they should include Bitcoin as well, because most people are making use of Bitcoin, unless it’s not the same at that location. Where I live you will never see anyone talking about Ethereum here or any cryptocurrency, it’s only Bitcoin that’s being discussed.

But it’s still a good idea in some ways, this will convince people to start making use of Ethereum and other altcoins.
