As of the time I was writing this, there are 10115 crypto ATMs in the world. I checked this directly on coinatmradar (https://coinatmradar.com/).

I remember in 2019, there were only about 6000 bitcoin ATMs in the world, but the increase in this year to an extent there are over 10000 ATMs now is a very good move which is also helping bitcoin and other crypto adoption.

With time, crypto ATMs will increase over 100000. The increase in crypto ATMs is an evidence of increase in bitcoin and other crypto adoption.

One indication that we are heading to a bright future with bitcoins. Since the installing of this bitcoin ATMs are working and increasing every year. Not only this, there are more stores around the world that accepts bitcoin nowadays compared to last year. I hope someday we will have that ATM here installed in our city so that I can have my own reviews about it just like the other who already tried it for the first time.

Based on Coinatmradar.com (https://coinatmradar.com/) (the Bitcoin ATM finder) there are 10115 ATM's at this moment in 71 countries, as I captured the image above.

We can determine the growth of Bitcoin machine by showing this chart (https://coinatmradar.com/charts/#growth), it is obviously Bitcoin businesses have been grown, most especially these days there is pandemic and people need to have a cashless transaction and Bitcoin is one of the best options as a payment method. We witnessed the sudden growth of those people who are willing to adopt Bitcoin as their businesses.

Different issues and negative feedback thrown to Bitcoin and the worst is there are several countries banning Bitcoin but despite these obstacles, Bitcoin showing progress.

I really hope that by 2021 bitcoin ATMs can increase 2 x times from the current one to 20,000 worldwide.

In my country have three (3) Bitcoin ATMs that can be used by the community at this time, to be honest Bitcoin ATMs really help the crypto community in my country in making transactions.

I hope that entering 2021, in my country can add (3) more ATMs that can operate in transactions.

OP if in your country how many ATMs are there at the moment ...!

Of course this is good news, last July I read there is around 8,444 crypto ATMs in the world and the most crypto ATM machines in America. Currently America also still dominates with 8002 ATMs. I think the growth in the number of crypto ATMs is proof that users are growing and this is the effect of trust in crypto. While it is uneven and I believe this is due to the different regulations in each country, I am pretty sure that there will be more crypto ATMs in the world. Hopefully my country will also come back with better regulations.

How good the feeling is to see that majority of countries do have these ATM's which would really be a convenience for those people who do tend to use such service even though fees might be a bit high
but it wont really be that much an issue.

I just read here in the forum that the majority of the Bitcoins ATM is in the USA. I think its thousands of Bitcoin ATM are in the USA compared to some of the countries that probably bitcoin ATM are just numbered. I'm thinking it would take a long time for Bitcoin ATM to be implemented in my country probably Bitcoin ATM in my country doesn't even reach a hundred I think. Most of the companies may be are just afraid to take the risk in bitcoin also a lot of companies that try just end up closing the bitcoin ATM business maybe because it is not just a reliable way to do at this time and no one uses it.

Seen few in my country but have not tried even once. I kept watching the ATM for nearly an hour whether someone would actually tried it out of curiousity but seen no one. I don't know how they pick a location to put the ATM but it must be good to put it on a crowded or a path way where people can see it. Its best on a location near tech hub because its a place where people knew BTC.  The amount of marketing isn;t enough when scams in crypto is very much like a regular thing.

I think this was already the 4th time I have read this thread related or with the same thought on this over this forum which is just fine since there goes an update among the early threads that have been created about Bitcoin ATMs. But even if the numbers of Bitcoin ATMs continuously arise but still most of it are dominantly situated or located in US, we cannot practically say that we are massively adapting into Bitcoin engagement and usage because if you will compare the number of Bitcoin ATMs that can be found on US to the others located on other countries, it is strongly incomparable for there are only minimal Bitcoin ATMs that can be found on other places. The massive part of those big numbers are entirely on US only. I am still looking forward that soon enough once Bitcoin is accepted and legalized on other countries, there would be also availability of Bitcoin ATMs on other places not just on US dominantly.

Most of the researches that I've seen, they're stating the number of wallets instead of active crypto traders. Just like in Coinbase, they're rating the number of registers than the number of active traders.
You can search for various researches on google and just use the proper keywords for this topic. And, you'll see those different results made by different services or websites.

Agreed, I have witnessed several countries who actually turned from being an anti-Bitcoin to reconsidering some legal steps to regulate cryptocurrency and then reconsider the use of Bitcoin but with some slight restrictions. Just like Russia. These countries might have realized a certain impact of cryptocurrency to boost their economic state.

Increase numbers of ATM's does signify that adoption is on the move which is really a great thing for crypto community and this do really shows the potential that it would widespread even more on future years to come.
Increase of number of Bitcoin ATM's means there are more people who are actually using it so does the Bitcoin adoption. I assume they have conducted surveys to effectively put the ATM's in areas which is most convenient for the users. So, this also identifies which area has the most increase number of Bitcoin adoption.

Definitely, they did some survey before they set-up those btc ATMs, because they want more traffic to earn from this business. Just like in my country, they put it in a central business district. So people have easy access on that terminal. I hope that the rates on these ATMs will be competitive with other method like as compared to local exchange so the adoption will really increase.

Even if the number of BTC atms keep on increasing, as long as most of them are concentrated on the western side, I doubt there's a sense or there's even a reason for celebration since if the distribution isn't really evenly made, there's no sense to even call it "Worldwide". Just call it on the US or western part of the world, since really, that's almost the entirety of the ATMs out there. Still, I know there are difficulties in distributing them across the globe, mostly because of regulations, which basically shows that there's still a long way in terms of ATMs being placed over the globe.

I head there are only 6 thousand ATM all over the world, but not its increase to 10,000. I wish our government take a look on it and build an ATM machine in a country.

Here in Singapore also we have a few of them. I have used an ATM once, but the markup is too high. If I remember correctly, it was around 8%. You can purchase Bitcoins from Localbitcoins or from any of the exchanges at 0.5% markup, but then doing the KYC is a big headache. So for those who don't want to do the KYC, Bitcoin ATMs are a good option (you need a SMS verification, only if the amount is more than SGD 2,000). I am not that concerned about my anonymity, and therefore I will skip them for now.

bitcoin adoption has always had different aspects, it is not just the price going up. it is all the rest that comes with it, more exchanges, more shops, merchants, payment processors, all kinds of services, and of course ATMs.
we are currently in the initial adoption phase where people want to have ways of converting their fiat to bitcoin so things like ATMs and exchanges are hot these days. in a decade from now that bitcoin will take more of a currency shape, they will also go away as people get paid in bitcoin and use it the same way they use fiat and you don't need an ATM for that.

^ Definitely right, On my experience, I have not felt the machines though. But yes, I can see that Bitcoin is about to be accepted and considered
the same level as the banks and streetest level remittance companies. Just like bitcoin ATM that being considered one, Bitcoin has set the bars high. Probably time will come, not only in the city that has bitoin ATM, it would be available in any department store, cryptocurrency is now roarding slowly. We will get there soon. I can tell.

Those were such a great numbers indeed for that calls that Bitcoin adaption will become more prevalent for the existence of Bitcoin ATMs will surely encourage Bitcoin and non-Bitcoin users to try the machine which is more likely to be the same with fiat ATMs to provide seamlessly fast transactions. But even if that is incredibly a big number, majority of those Bitcoin ATMs are dominantly found in US and some other countries which means that the existence of such machine is not yet into a worldwide distribution so basically we cannot say that we are heading all along into massive adaption for only people in US mostly have an access into the machine as of the moment. Even here at my country, we do not have any Bitcoin ATM even one have not existed. But despite of that, I am staying positive that sooner or later in the future Bitcoin ATMs will be present in every country around the world.

This year Bitcoin is increasingly popular and many people are buying Bitcoin, therefore the number of Bitcoin ATMs this year has
increased dramatically, compared to 2019. This is a good sign for mass adoption, therefore, collecting as much Bitcoin as possible
is what we have to do now. Because the drastic increase in Bitcoin ATMs should be able to make Bitcoin prices go up.

Really nice to know this news! It means Bitcoin is getting familiar and accepted worldwide. In 2020, Bitcoin seems to have good increases in adoption, and more people are involved in this business. This is a good sign that people become easier to transfer or get Bitcoin. Even sometimes the transaction fees on ATM is a bit higher, but with many ATM Bitcoins around the world, more people know what the Bitcoin is.

I am pleased with the increase in the installation of ATMs around the world, which indicates that user demand is growing. These are good signs that Bitcoin and cryptos are growing in the knowledge of new users. If someone does not know about Bitcoin they will learn what it is by seeing a user operating an ATM and that will be the beginning for any crypto enthusiast.

By the way, does coinatmradar.com also deduct from their count those ATMs which are already non-functional?

It seems to me that over time the number of ATM will decrease. After all, we are committed to the digitalization of society, right?
I think it will be a long time, unless the country that legalizes Crypto transactions changes its mind and bans it. This Crypto ATM is linked to a developing digital currency and it's still in its infancy, just look at the age of BTC, if I'm not mistaken, it's only ten years old. Technology adoption is also growing, that is a sign crypto is starting to be accepted, and crypto ATMs are increasing, because I think users have alternatives in crypto transactions, such as bank-issued fiat money ATMs.

<…> By the way, does coinatmradar.com also deduct from their count those ATMs which are already non-functional?

If we check the Growth charts on their page, we’ll see that they have lines that represent a downward drop in the number of installed ATMs. You won’t see that on the Worldwide chart not the US chart (since the overall monthly number has always been increasing), but the other chars do (i.e. https://coinatmradar.com/charts/growth/austria/). The downward slopes are recent, so it is been kept up-to-date to a certain degree.

ATMs are removed (or at least changed to "closed" as status) in accordance to user reports as described here: https://coinatmradar.com/blog/check-and-report-bitcoin-atm-status/

It's not practically worldwide if the vast majority of ATMs is in the US or, more generally, North America. And that's indeed the case with ATMs. Just have a look at the diagram shared in a different thread about ATMs:
It's like in my home country at the university we often have those "international conferences" where 95% of people are from our country, but someone is indeed from other countries. While it qualifies as 'international', the word itself is perceived differently. So while these ATMs are worldwide, it's not the sort of worldwide people have in mind when hearing this.
Not to mention an interesting point about a downward trend that DdmrDdmr pointed out.

I am pleased with the increase in the installation of ATMs around the world, which indicates that user demand is growing.

Not really, across the world, out of the 564 new BATMs coinradar reports as new since September 1st , 522 !! , of them were installed in the US.
So actually, 92% of all new BATMs installed this month were located in the US, which means that the difference is growing at an even higher pace, and if we look at the numbers on a per capita stats is far worse for the rest of the world.

we are currently in the initial adoption phase where people want to have ways of converting their fiat to bitcoin so things like ATMs and exchanges are hot these days. in a decade from now that bitcoin will take more of a currency shape, they will also go away as people get paid in bitcoin and use it the same way they use fiat and you don't need an ATM for that.

I don't think it's like that totally, there are plenty of people looking for the ATMs as a way of cashing out without involving banks and having to pay taxes, I've seen ATMs running out of funds in two days although just earlier they had 100k euros in them. Also, those ATMs can be used in some other ways, imagine you don't want to travel with a ton of cash across the state, you just have to know a guy with two of those machines, and on each side of the country and ...

This insane growth for something that charges people 5-10% on purchases has also some darker parts...

Bitcoin ATMs are really increasing in number immediately and this is a good bitcoin adoption signal for us.

There are still a lot of places that doesn't have bitcoin ATMs which is still a problem to them.

Hoping that more and more countries will engage in this kind of development and adoption so that anyone who wants to withdrew their money in a bitcoin ATM will lessen their inconvenience. Imagine if most of the countries already implemented Bitcoin ATMs and spread it all over the world, in that time, bitcoin will really become accepted by the people and the governments.

for me with the existence of bitcoin atm not yet and it is not very important because what has been done so far is good and very easy to exchange bitcoin to fiat and using atm which is used to be done is easier and simpler. the existence of a bitcoin ATM, maybe a lot of people need at least the existence it has begun to be recognized, for me the impact is only that if the matter of convenience is clearly easier which I have said above.

For sure the addition of more ATMs in cities and communities is a rough estimator of public perspective on BTC and cryptocurrency in general. However, looking only at the numbers of ATMs is a little misleading as some of these may not have been legitimately installed and regulated, so a distinction is necessary. Nonetheless, it's encouraging to see that with more crypto based projects the value of digital currency becomes more widespread.

This is a promising article and project but 10,000 is still a low number and most of these ATM's are available within a specific continent and that is a sign that its a good investment since the countries studied on how Bitcoin publicity can help their financial status. These would encourage some countries to study it too and improve it at their own use.

This just means bitcoin has been adopting worldwide. More ATM machines indicates a good progress about bitcoin technology. I do hope, they'll add more atm machines here in our country since there are still few in selected areas only.

On the other hand, there are some btc ATM machines that are not trusted and taken down because it wasn't licensed and build for some other illegal purposes.

It's nice to see that bitcoin ATM is growing because it just means that crypto recognition is also increasing. However, bitcoin ATMs around the world are not really distributed well because the majority are just in a single place which means the growth of crypto recognition and adoption is not noticeable in other countries. It would be better to see that other countries also have a growing number of bitcoin ATMs not only in the US. Here in my country, even if there's a kinda positive view of crypto, there are no bitcoin ATMs that much.
