The server returned an error when broadcasting the transaction.
Consider trying to connect to a different server, or updating Electrum.

Try restarting electrum and does sit still not work?

What's the error, can you screenshot it? Are you fully connected with a balance at the bottom of the screen?

You could be getting the error when you are trying to spend from dust outputs. What is the value of the UTXOs that you are trying to spend and how much are you using for fees? The fee has to be at least 1 sat/vbyte to be accepted by the nodes. I think the dust threshold for Bitcoin is around 550 sat (someone correct me if I am wrong). If you are trying to spend less than that, you might see such an error.

Also check that your Electrum client is displaying your base unit as BTC and not mBTC. It is possible that you are entering the value in mBTC without knowing. Check your settings, and change the base unit to BTC if it is set at mBTC.

I doubt that's the reason.
Electrum displays a different message when spending dust amounts. (Transaction could not be broadcast due to dust outputs.)

Try to connect to a different server. It may solve the problem.
It's also poosible that there's a problem with your connection. Turn on/off your VPN.

You might be experienced some connection issue.

Can you check the circle lower right of the Electrum if what is the stats of your connection?

Red = means it's not connected to any server or connection/internet issue

Syncing = means its connecting to server but if it's stuck you might have a connection issue

Green means connected to server(Must be work fine) but if you receive the error while in green state maybe there's something blocking your wallet from sending.

Tell us which one of the images above is your wallet state?

Few days ago I was having this same issue and none of the above worked. I tried changing servers, tried swapping from regular connection to TOR connection, tried restarting Electrum again and again but failed every time. Than I gave the last try with downloading and installing the latest version.

I had 4.0.2 and the latest version is 4.0.3

I would suggest OP to do the same. Make sure you verify the signature of the downloaded file.

I am experiencing the same problem!
"The server returned an error when broadcasting the transaction.
Överväg att ansluta till en annan server, eller att uppdatera Electrum.

Unknown error"
I have downloaded the latest version after I received the message but still the same...
Please help!

Try and manually select a different server from the list displayed in "Tools -> Network"... You need to "right click" one of the servers in the list and select the "Use as server" option:

Note that you might need to try a few before it works.

Thank you everyone for your answers, I think it's just about my slow internet connection but I've seen that it synchronized immediately and I also tried using different servers and I let it pass a day and now it works. Thank you everyone I'm going to lock this topic now.
