I do notice that some people naturally don’t allow bitcoin in any of their daily transactions even when it faster and easier, they still don’t prefer using it, I have noticed this a lot, Some classes of human,Sometimes when they are to receive money from another country like international transfer sometimes it takes 2 3 days to arrive,They will advise them to use bitcoin and they still don’t accept it even it faster and easier. Now how come we make bitcoin come to people.

Totally wrong. You misunderstood it. People can not allow or disallow bitcoin and bitcoin transactions. Miners do it because bitcoin is operated by Proof-of-work (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_work) and transaction will be confirmed by miners, not a person.

Bitcoin block time is about 10 minutes for one block. Sometimes it can be longer or shorter than 10 minutes but in median, block time is 10 minutes. When you make one transaction, the waiting time to see it gets first confirmation will depends on the fee rate you set up for your transaction and the mempool status. If the mempool is clear, with the same rate, you can get faster transaction than when mempool is loaded a lot. Second-layer solution as Lightning Network (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Lightning_Network) can bring much faster transactions but development pace and adoption are still limited.

As said above, the speed of confirmation depends on the fee rate you use. If the mempool is stucked and you use fee rate at 1 satoshi/(v)byte, your transaction can be stucked for days or even 2 weeks before difficulty on the network was readjusted and mempool status becomes better.

Reasons to use bitcoin, IMO:

• Be your own bank.
• No one can freeze your bitcoin
• A fixed total supply, deflation over time (after each 4-year halving, block rewards will be halvened)
• Decentralization

Note that you need to use non-custodial wallets (Bitcoin Core (https://bitcoin.org/en/download), Electrum (https://electrum.org/)) to be your own bank.

Probably due to it being unknown to them, especially since any accident could occur, leading to a possible loss of their money. It's more like in their eyes, the normal transfers would be slow, yes, but at least they know it works and they know it's legit. With Bitcoin? They still have to do researches about it, and then create wallets, understand how transfers work, and they don't even know what exchanges are good or not.

Remember that it may seem easy for us, but that's because we're in the know of it, but not them. It's like knowing how to swim, and you know it and is inviting a friend who doesn't know how to swim. You know it's fun, but your friend doesn't necessarily know about it, hence the fear. There's really no need to push them to use it tbh, let them use whatever they want. Even if we make a 100page essay about the advantages of Bitcoin, if they don't want to use it, they won't, end of story.

Using Bitcoin isn't that easy. There are some drawbacks. If you need to send somebody money and choose Bitcoin for this purpose, you need to buy it the first. And the recipient will have to cash out Bitcoin. And don't forget about Bitcoin high volatility.  

For transactions, bitcoin does offer a number of benefits that disrupt traditional transaction methods; Western Union, Paypal, bank transfer, and Tranferwise etc. In my opinion, I think the lack of acceptance and adoption is largely due to education. Like @ratimov mentioned, common barriers-to-entry are questions around where do I buy crypto, where do I exchange crypto, what is the price of bitcoin-specifically when acquired vs when exchanged into fiat currency, what if I sent money to the wrong wallet address -- do I have security on that?

to simplify things:

if i have $1000 in the bank and want to send it to my relative in the USA, i will create my Paypal account and then i will add my bank card and i will send the $1000 to the paypal account of my relative who lives in the USA. Of course, paypal will charge a fee, but I have doubts that cover a $100 fee and when my relative living in the USA withdraws money from his paypal account to the bank, he will not pay many fees.

with bitcoin:

I would have to create a bitcoin wallet and then look for exchange and make KYC and then buy bitcoin worth $1000 and my wallet would reach  $850 or almost $850 (look at the absurd fees) and I would have to explain to my relative how to create wallet of bitcoin and then when my relative withdraws bitcoin for a bank he would have to do KYC in some exchange and withdraw bitcoin for his bank account

One of the reason is that not all the people have deep knowledge about bitcoin and know how it works and how to use it in their transactions, it's not that they avoid it, what they avoid is the chance to learn or take the risk to explore as some people think bitcoin as a complex form of currency and too complex to be used in a transaction.

Things are not that easy.
First, there are people who reside in countries and send to countries international transfers way faster, like SEPA, it takes one day here in Europe.
Second, the one who receives bitcoins has to spend it, but since he can't pay rent or utilities or buy food with it directly in most areas, he has to exchange the coins to fiat local currency, which invoices depositing the money to exchange and receive fiat in a bank account, and it again takes time and involves fees or deal with an ATM and outrageous fees or p2p exchange which is not really comfortable with everybody or that available.
And so, from a 10 minute confirmation, you arrive back at 2-3 days, losing every advantage.

Then, there is a limitation, the network can't process without the LN enough transactions for everyone to use it, if 30 million people would send a monthly remittance home half of them won't be able to do it.


You let them use whatever they want, remember that bitcoin is seen as freedom, you can't force somebody to use it, you let them choose, if they don't want to, too bad for them, but it's their choice.

I believe in time to come people are going to adopt bitcoin but that will not come easy, the technology behind bitcoin is new and not clear to many people despite the fact that it very easy to use and fast. But I believe one of the problem is the trust issue some people don't just trust what ever they can not see and if anything goes wrong they like to have a third party to hold responsible for what ever go wrong.

People tend to avoid having a transaction in cryptocurrency because they don't have good enough knowledge about it, that is what I notice for some people in our country because of being lack of knowledge, of course, if you don't have good knowledge about the crypto world and you are on the traditional bank, you wouldn't believe any online money because you only believe on fiat currency because you can see it and you can use it for anywhere.
I think what he meant is that people do not use yo have any transaction using bitcoin.

As many have correctly noted, bitcoin is being avoided by ordinary people mostly because of the unfortunate fact that it requires at least basic knowledge about cryptocurrencies, so that it can be used efficiently and properly. Both payer and payee should have everything preset up for a successful transaction, otherwise they are going to lose their funds since there is no third party such as banks to cover their backs. That is the main problem of many people: having to be responsible for own funds is unbearable burden for most. actually most people don't even know about bitcoin. some of them may have heard the name or read it somewhere in the news but they have no idea what it is. some think it is some "nerd money" that is virtual. some thing it is for "criminals",... a lot of weird things like that.

those little number of people that know about it and don't use it are either too scared of the volatile price or too scared because of some FUD they had heard that gave them false information.

this is why bitcoin adoption even after a decade is not more than 1% yet.

Almost everybody have had one fear a particular time before joining the groove with bitcoin. Things are not easily done that way, for many it is an impossibility until they see and get convinced.

But although people avoid using on their daily transaction ,they are still using it as investment to gain more profit.

There are a lot of things to be considered first, mate.
It isn't that easy to just jump right into using Bitcoin, just because it is that easy in your point of view.
There are many reasons like:
- People think that it is mainly used by criminals. That was my first thought to be honest after I get a few peeks about the deep web and dark web.
- Volatile price. Nothing more to be explained further than this.
- Regulations

Are you using Bitcoin in your daily transactions? I am not, and the vast majority of BitcoinTalk users are not either.

Bitcoin transfers are instant and require no approval from a bank worker, but how does the other end cash out reliably and in time? Today we have ATM KYC limits and ATMs have high fees as well if you want to sell BTC for cash. And if you're completing KYC to withdraw from an ATM, then you could just exchange your coins at a reliable exchange instead as well.. Because by the time your transfer gets a confirmation, Bitcoin may have fallen enough to lower down the worth of the coins.

It's really not like we've adopted Bitcoin so much you could replace fiat with it. Most of us use it mainly as a store of value rather than a daily-drive currency. It's not as easy as telling your friends to use BTC instead of bank transfers, because they have no idea how it even works. If it was simple to adopt it, it would've happened a very long time ago.

Are you using bitcoin in your daily transaction? If your answer is No then maybe you also know the answer to your question why people didn't use it for daily transaction. Yes, you can make bitcoin transaction very fast if you are willing to pay a higher transaction fee daily.  There are still many things to consider in using bitcoin. Not all country already accept bitcoin and people avoid it because of it's nature of being volatile but Bitcoin is one of the best investment and you can earn a lot if you really know about it.

Depends on what you use. If you use something like Transferwise then it will probably takes hours at most to transfer your money, but if you ask for fiat withdrawal on platform like Payoneer it will take days. One aspect that still stays the same is the fee. There is no debate that you need to pay more fees when you make international transfer, while with Bitcoin you don't have to do that.

Obviously using Bitcoin means that everyone involved know how to use it. Unfortunately, in my case that's not the case.

I believe he is referring to accepting Bitcoins in their daily sales transaction, and not the Bitcoin transaction flow in the system itself.

Many people avoid Bitcoin because of ignorance.  Aside from that, other merchant wanted to stay in their comfort zone of just thriving in a traditional transaction of fiat money. They don't want to bother of implementing any additional mode of payment because it requires them to spend more resources which they are avoiding.

It is not that fast and easy using cryptocurrency especially if your font has good knowledge about it and not all transactions are faster than fiat currency when it comes som transferring money and withdrawal. People tend to avoid cryptocurrency because of some reason. Some people think that it is a scam and they don't believe that we can earn money online, there are also some people who only believe that people need to do physical work first before they earn money.

Even there are many people use bitcoin as it has lots of advantages, for a beginner, its not easy for them to use. First instead of using wallet they end up on exchanges since its more user-friendly than a wallet that takes more technical knowledge to use or whatever. Second, they need to buy bitcoin first before sending it to their receiver, and collect the so called bitcoin address or say email address for paypal or bank account number for them to be able to send well its easy for us idk how they react when someone give them a random alphanumeric string for them to send their bitcoin. Then lastly the price, if they're relying too much on usd rate of bitcoin then its hard for them send bitcoin since it continue to change time to time.

Not unless these beginners understand truly the essence of sending/using bitcoin instead of fiat.

"Faster and easier", "daily transaction"

Avoiding and not choosing is bitcoin is different, it may seem that bitcoin is fast and easy to use but it's only on the internet, when you get to buy goods or services physically it is convenient to pay in cash. It's faster compared to wired transaction. Digital banking now are faster and easier than ever, this might be the greatest hit against bitcoin. People don't stop themselves from using bitcoin, they are just not choosing the way it is now.

Not everyone have the knowledge about bitcoin is the first reason why people still prefer wire transfer and also people might be facing difficulty when converting the received cryptos into fiat due to regulation and some people doesn't want to give their personal information to random site called crypto exchanges.Thongs may change in the future, at least start the change from yourself.

There is many reasons that people try to avoid using bitcoin and use cash instead of it. Yes bitcoin is fast and easier to use. But do you see any psychical infrastructure here? The answer is no. You can't use bitcoin without internet. Which is one of the disadvantage of bitcoin. For this many people prefer cash over btc.

Something which is useful and swift as per you might not be the same for someone else. This is a human tedency. I have seen like tons of people who think Stock Market is place to lose money and therefore never in their life they have invested in any shares. When it comes to bitcoin there a few reasons:
1. Legality: some people feel that due to lack of clear legislation it's better to avoid such a thing. You for example  are regular user and this doesn't matter you but for a new person he won't like to associate himself with something new which is not legalized.
2. Conversion: Another issue can be that both sender and the receiver will have to convert their currencies into bitcoin first and they might even be afraid of the losses on exchange or maybe they just might be lathargic to add an unnecessary step in the transaction.
3. No greater Incentive: Generally time doesn't matter in retail transactions. People make international transfers way in advance because they know about the times taken. So a day or two here and there doesn't really matter to someone who is sending money for personal use. These things matter in businesses.

I guess they think it is too complicated. They find bank transactions easier for them to understand (even if it is slower than bitcoin) and they are used to banks. They don't want to try something new. I know people that wouldn't risk a single cent when it comes to "receiving" money. Or I guess the person that will receive the coins does not want to go through extra paper works and those crappy taxes when it comes to holding bitcoin. Not to mention, the way sometimes the media portrays bitcoin sometimes, I wouldn't be surprised to see people reluctant to use bitcoin.

Because there are still many people who don't know how to use Bitcoin, so they choose to use a bank which does take some time
for the transfer process abroad. Even though using Bitcoin is much faster, therefore it takes a lot of education related to Bitcoin.
Because of all the world's population, there are very few people who really understand Bitcoin.

There isn't much middle ground at the moment. There are drooling zombies like us who 'get it' and will put up with some outrageous inconvenience sometimes. Then there's the rest of the world which is scared or doesn't give a shit or simply sees no reason to bother.

Education is what will pull Bitcoin upwards more than anything. More people need to educate themselves about it and some day the majority will meet in the middle.

There are many reasons for someone to avoid using bitcoin, which in my opinion the biggest one is that they do not know bitcoin and how it works. Many people don't know how to exchange bitcoin for cash and they don't like the hassle of having to learn it.
Besides that, governments don't like bitcoin so they often talk about bitcoin as a risky speculation, which also contributes to many people disliking bitcoin.

I agree, it is difficult for the elders to learn new things, especially technology-related issues.
It takes a lot of time and effort for a new person to receive bitcoin and convert it into cash. Many people will accept to wait a little more time instead of learning about bitcoin.

Depends where that transfer happens, if it's between two 3rd world countries and not directly bank to bank but some platforms that have their own timing it might be way worse than 3 days.
I experienced that with checks here in Europe, we had to wait for 30 days to receive the payment from those issued in the US, the worst method of payment I've ever come across and I can't understand how we even agreed to it, we canceled the agreement after 3 months, switch to wire or begone!
When it comes to international transfers but via the same banks in some cases, the transfers are insanely fast, I've seen payment getting though in an hour, sometimes you end up with no blocks mined in 60 minutes.


What would be the point receiving bitcoins and trying to sell your coins on an exchange and have to use a bank and a  wire transfer to get fiat, when the person in the case could have done that from the first step? It's a really stupid situation, in first world countries you don't need bitcoins because banks are pretty fast, when it comes to poor countries it makes no sense because to exchange bitcoins to fiat is even more troublesome than getting a damn bank account.
Not even mentioning the fact that once you start dealing with exchanges and receiving money from them the authorities might start poking their noses into this and suspect you of everything bad in this world.

The logic comes like, people who prefer cash and those who prefer ease as a digital transaction. No matter how good the technology is, people might not like and don't prefer to use it for their personal reasons. What they've heard, what they know, and what they don't understand.
That only lies with those things and with what they've heard, it's likely that they've heard it that bitcoin is being used for illegal transactions only and they don't want to interfere. And what they know, with that thing they've heard, they prefer it to become their knowledge and extracting it as a fact.

 2 to 3 days for a money transfer ? lol is that thing still exist ? we are now in the year 2020 and all forms of transfers now are instant no matter where you are in the world or no matter what type of payment your using  .

 its not like a delivery that a money needs to be packed and travel by some time but they just need to remmit the money and then the reciever claim it but the thing is that  , people done this manually .

 they travel and wait for the lines before they can claim the money but if they will learn how to accept btc , they will never experience those dull moments again .

Ive been into a conversation to the one who actually doesnt have any idea about bitcoin. And from that I figured out someone like him may have a lack of knowledge about bitcoin. Same with the others who are avoiding it.
Also, others got scammed using btc's name. Perhaps they thought btc itself is a scam, too. But with the proper knowledge about bitcoin legitly works then probably they may not avoid and gonna try to use and invest into it.

On the other hand, there are still people that don't prefer cryptocurrency. Traditional money for them is more significant to use and disregard new technology like this.

In today's time when computers generate almost everything so it is very easy to process in remittance centers, it only takes a few minutes and the person you are sending money to can get. So other people prefer this kind of way in sending money than a bitcoin transfer because it also requires enough knowledge of the person you are sending it to. Both sender and receiver requires a wallet as a medium of transferring, and another thing the receiver needs to find a place where they can convert bitcoin to cash if they need to.

I think there are many ways for Bitcoin to reach people and one of the ones I like the most is the following:
Through the payment of wages for Bitcoin.
If people have the ability to save money, they could save in Bitcoin.
There are people who do not know how Bitcoin works, so I think we must be constant to teach the pros and cons of its use.
From my point of view, Bitcoin will reach people on behalf of each of us to expand knowledge to the world.

It's not as easy as you say.  First of all, Bitcoin is not accepted everywhere.  If you can't do anything with your money, is that money worth it?  Suppose you buy food, but Bitcoin is not acceptable wherever you buy food, then you must use local currency.  And there are some older people who are not experienced about online, it is very difficult for them to transact through Bitcoin.  So they are interested in a transaction that takes two or three days without this fast transaction.

here bitcoin plays an important role in finance and ease of development, but sometimes people are afraid to save a lot of money in a bitcoin wallet for fear of being hacked, forgetting passwords or writing errors that will disappear quickly, this is our consideration. It should state that everything is safe and comfortable in bitcoin. I have read the article about this, I think it should be fixed and straightened more carefully and stronger against hackers.

IMO, two or three major reasons responsible for your observation are:
1. Education. Not everyone out there has the education needed to transact in bitcoin. The process of creating a bitcoin wallet is not as easy as opening an account in the bank. Once you have the wallet, the process of funding the wallet is not also that easy. The community here has got the vast knowledge and experience that is why it seems easy for us.
2. Risk. The risk involved in bitcoin transfer is very high. Imagine that you make a mistake in address, there is no way you can get your funds back. We are all humans and can make mistakes at any time. Sending money through other channels are less riskier so people will prefer to wait longer.
3. Exchange rate volatility. Bitcoin is very volatile. You could lose or gain value between the time of sending and the time your recipient withdraws the funds. 

Well.. I am using Bitcoin since 2012. I have used all types of wallets, including online wallets, desktop wallets, paper wallets, brain wallets and even exchange wallets. I haven't used hardware wallets because I thought that they are too expensive. There was a time when I used to store up to 15 BTC in my BTC-e wallet. It stayed there for 2 years and no one stole it. I didn't even had 2FA. What I am trying to say is that there is always a risk of someone stealing your coins. But it is rare, and if you take adequate security precautions, then you can prevent such robberies. 

First, people are afraid of bitcoin because they are not well-informed about it.  This is, in my opinion, the very first reason.  For many countries, the reputation of bitcoin is very negative, as it is primarily highlighted as a source of money laundering.
Also, the difficulty in use for many is an obstacle.  If such payment systems as PayPal have existed for a long time, and people are already familiar with it, then transfers in bitcoin, as already described here, seem very inconvenient to many.
But another reason for the reluctance to popularly use bitcoin is the uncertain attitude of countries.  Many countries have introduced a ban on bitcoin, and hence the fear of using it by the population of these countries.

I think now that people don't need bitcoin because they still prefer to use a traditional transaction. They will not have a problem waiting 2-3 days to see the money will be arrived. Perhaps, they need to have an open mind to accept the new things such as bitcoin to see the benefit of using bitcoin for their transaction. One of the benefits for them is they can cut the high fee in the transaction, and they can see the transaction will complete in less than 1 hour if the network is not too busy.

One day, they will want to use bitcoin, and they will have the option to send the money. Perhaps, we can let them decide, and don't force them to use bitcoin or learning about bitcoin if they don't want to know bitcoin.

Maybe what you mean here is that people aren't using Bitcoin in their day to day transactions because if you are saying that they don't allow bitcoin in their day to day transaction then there is wrong with it because miners are the ones who are allowing it not the people themselves.

One thing more is that, I can agree maybe that they transaction speed of Bitcoin is faster compare to others but easier?? I don't think so especially for those who don't know how to create an address etc.

One reason is that they aren't knowledgeable enough to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin will not come to them but it is the opposite. Let the people come and use Bitcoin if they really want to have a faster and easier transaction like you said. One reason that I see too is the risk. Since Bitcoin is volatile, there is a chance that the value of the Bitcoins they're holding right now in USD will not be the same tomorrow.
Another one is that maybe they got scammed with Bitcoin that is why they chose to avoid it. Either way, people have different reasons to avoid it but still there are some who wants to use it.

For regular users, bitcoin is quite fast and convenient, you can receive money in minutes for a small fee.
However, for those who have never used cryptocurrencies, receiving and converting bitcoins into cash is a difficulty for them. They are forced to learn from scratch and have to find a way to sell bitcoin for cash, which is not easy.

We can't please everyone to use bitcoin even if it is much faster and safe to transact with other people.

Maybe, due to its decentralized nature, people are not using it and doubting bitcoin's value in the market which makes it a fake currency to other people.

People avoid bitcoin because of its volatility.

I think that people avoid Bitcoin because they are not aware of all the important benefits that can come from using it and investing in it.

It is not such a easy concept for everyone to understand so this could make people turn away from it.

It gives them hassles in their part but it doesn't mean that they are hated Bitcoin. Of course, I'll do the same especially if I'm sending it to another person, friends, relatives without a wallet, better to find another way. It is a sort of awareness, they need to transfer Bitcoin and os they need to create a wallet for it but somehow, they don't even know how to do it.

If they are willing to adopt crypto, using Bitcoin for less hassles transactions, then they should have to make it. It is just like spending time creating a bank account but the good thing in creating a Bitcoin wallet is much easier and faster which could only take less than 5 minutes.

The people who avoid bitcoin either does not believe its capabilities or new ways of transactions is not their thing, bank transactions seems more efficient for them because they understand it better than bitcoin. Yes, they can be educated about capabilities but like anything, it is easier said than done. Theories work good on paper but application is different problem, that is what this looks like for people that avoid bitcoin, they do like the concept but the complex real time application is what keeps them away, familiarity to technology is harder to older people.

There are many reasons why people avoid using Bitcoin. The first reason is because they don't understand Bitcoin,
the second reason is too comfortable using traditional transactions, the third reason is Bitcoin's bad reputation.
Because of the misleading reporting from several media, by consider Bitcoin to be widely used for illegal activities.
And the last reason because it is related to legality issues. Not all countries accept Bitcoin.

I think this will be the case for most people.

Most of them do not know what Bitcoin is, some of them know what it is but they don't use it because they think it is a scam, they don't know how to use it, and don't want any part of it. But there are some that also use Bitcoin but they are limited to where we use it, some just hold it and don't use it for them to earn profit in the near future. I could say that it is not for all of us, not all of the people would be interested in it.

I think that there is a large degree of people who avoid it because it is so different than traditional banking systems and they don't completely understand it. However, as I've had more workers in international companies, I have used cryptocurrency for payment far more often and the fees are much lower compared to other options.

Institutions like Western Union are definitely going to be further replaced by cryptocurrency or have to lower their fees or adopt technologies themselves in the future as adoption increases.

Those People are innocent and don't know what they are missing,Bitcoin is the most fastest and easy way in paying transaction online so i don't know why there are still many people denying this fact.
the scam issue has gone for long now and we must use this in our daily living as long as available,though at any chance conversion is needed for many to have it as currency because their countries are not allowing Bitcoin to be available.

Education - They aren't aware of it's huge value proposition, yet.

I think one of the reasons why people are still avoiding bitcoin or afraid of buying bitcoin because there is no assurance that their assets would be safe if bitcoin will be shutdown by the government. Bitcoin is truly one of the fastest and convenient way to make transaction online, but scam issues or Fraudulent activities are the things that keeps them away to buy bitcoin. So it would definitely take long for everybody to used bitcoin for their daily lives because of these trust issues.

People who use bitcoin - Faster and efficient we all know this
People who do not know bitcoin - There are a lot of rumors if you said the word bitcoin.

• Movies gives a bad image on it
• People scammed with the name under bitcoin
• False accusation and etc.

Well we have different experience on bitcoin but we cannot force them to adopt to the things they don't like, its better to respect their decision but if they are willing to learn how to use it why not introduce and share the use of the bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the King of all cryptocurrency community, and the price is very high, and has more prospect than any other coin, therefore people went for a lower price of other alt-coin to invest, while having a hope that, the price we raised to bitcoin one day.

Most people don't see the practicality in using bitcoin since they are just transferring small amounts in which the fee is practically just a few dollars worth. They don't have to deal with exchange fees and don't have to wait for confirmation times, too. Usually, bitcoin transfers are practical when we are talking about tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars is to be transferred, otherwise sticking with payment processors and banks is still the best option. Overseas transfers work best with bitcoin and crypto too, given that most wire transfers from country A to country B asks for $20+ and would take one to two business days.

It's not that people are avoid using bitcoin; they just don't see the practicality in it most of the time.

Bitcoin is not universally known/accepted, so naturally people will distrust it. Despite what people here may say, most people are satisfied with banks, there's no reason for them to look for alternatives. For example, this problem with long transaction times with banks is mostly just an american thing, and even then most people are just used to this. And Bitcoin has its own problems too, so anyone who actually tries it would quickly encounter them. I think the unstable price is the single biggest reason why people aren't adopting it, few people would want to store their money in a currency that can drop by 50% for no big reason, even if in the long run it goes up.

Based on my years of stay in bitcoin and cryptocurrency space. Honestly, I don't use bitcoin for micro transactions as there are main reasons why. First, Bitcoin transaction is not really fast. Compared to other cryptocurrency, bitcoin's confirmation tooks allot of time and if you need to go to the market and buy some goods in different merchants, it's really hard to monitor your funds. Another reason, the fees are huge, most of the time, it is dependent to how fast the transaction should be confirmed so you need to increase the fees too. But don't worry, these are just my reasons why I don't use bitcoin for microtransactions. I still use Bitcoin and consider it superior compared to altcoins as I use it to store most of my funds.

Yes,it's faster than any other transaction and specially this is all over the world.So this is helpful but the simple issue is this  is popular but a huge number of people did not know about the details using of bitcoin and how does it works.Most of them even  don't have any wallet to send or recieve bitcoin.So the fact is they use their common payment method in their everyday transaction.that's why they are avoiding bitcoin.

Regarding the use of Bitcoin for transactions or payments, it may not come from their personal. But it is more about the regulations in that country.
However, if the country has legalized Bitcoin and they are still not interested in Bitcoin, this is their personal business.
In this case, we cannot blame them. Because they may not know it, so they don't know the positive side of Bitcoin.

You can do an example transaction to the same country by showing it to them. Some of them will surely try it if they see themselves. The transaction is faster compare to the system or bank they're using right now. It's not enough to advise someone to use bitcoin, because many people are afraid to try new things. Teach them to use it to lessen their fear of having mistakes on their own by using a new system like this. And it would help if you focused on lecturing them the simple mistakes on bitcoin like double-check the address before sending because bitcoin transaction cannot be reversed.

The best reason I can think of on why people avoid Cryptocurrencies are the news revolving around it that it only scams people which is misleading since people who earn from it are more notable than people who are scammed by it. People who have no idea about it are only scared because they might get involve with it in the wrong way.

We cannot trust the media. They can easily manipulate the information they have. People loves to believe in fake news or anything that is not supported with evidences. They are scared because of this. That's why we have to educate them with the right knowledge and it is up to them if they will believe us. Also, people avoid bitcoin because it is really a high-risk investment, anytime ,you can lose what you risk but it is part of life :)

mostly conservative people who think all of the digital money is not money.
only money with physical form counts as money.

Very good observation. People are scared to touch something that they are not fully oriented with. Most of them don't even know where to start, like getting bitcoin wallet or generating bitcoin address. So you can't really expect someone to do what you are suggesting as it will take time to even understand how wallets work. If the OP is sincere in giving the advice to others, why not try it to one close person of his, that is doing this overseas remittance or receiving remittance? Suggest him small amount at first. Of course, the other end should also know what to do. Teach them step by step. How to generate bitcoin address, where to buy btc (reputable exchanges) up until sending it to their local remittance center. This is not an easy task as you are guiding noncrypto users. But once they got it one time and see the difference, definitely they will use it again. So for the OP, you need to understand the underlying situation. A lot of them are saying no because they don't know how to do it, not because they are afraid of it.

Some people avoid bitcoin because what they have experience from other cryptocurrencies which some scammer scam all their money which is making them to reason that the same thing will still happen if they start using Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is more secure compare to other cryptocurrency where scammer can have access into your money.
I guess those avoiding bitcoin are those who failed to do some personal research before investing their coins. Bitcoin is more faster and simple in the area of transaction if you know what you are doing in the platform.

Although bitcoin has some advantages, in some cases, it's still more convenient to use the traditional one in daily transactions especially that there are still limited merchants who accept bitcoin and most are still using fiat.

As for sending money from different places, maybe perhaps they are still not aware of bitcoin or knowledgeable enough to fully understand how it works. Also, the government also needs to be considered in both countries who will have a transaction if there is a restriction or not. But generally, a lot of people still don't really understand Bitcoin and that's a big factor why they don't want to use it.

Actually you can't blame them. The reason is this, the person telling his friends and families to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment, how much information about Bitcoin has he given to them? Can the receiver adequately create a Bitcoin wallet, get the address and when he receives the Bitcoin can he sell back to fiat and use if for the intended purpose? There are just many questions so, there is no need to blame anyone.
What I think is, before asking someone to accept Bitcoin for means of payment, do well to impact the necessary knowledge because any form of mistake can lead to loss of asset and that won't be funny.
So first thing first, to make Bitcoin come to people, at our spare time, we need to educate them on what Bitcoin is all about, the wallet they can use to receive it, how it works, how to send it out and possibly how to sell back to fiat. Bitcoin is one kind of virtual money. People use it through the internet for the transaction, or whatever they want to do by using it through an internet connection. People usually avoid Bitcoin for some reason, this one is one of them. Because we can not use it without internet access whenever we go outside of the home. That's the main reason I think. Because we need cash money to survive or society needs to reform into cash to cashless. Then we may consider it.

Some people don't understand the potential of Bitcoin. Or they are just influenced by FUDs. So, they are not interested in Bitcoin or avoid to buy it. Bitcoin is still at the infant stage and the mass adoption is still low. To use it as a medium of exchange, both parties must know how to handle digital wallet, deposit and sale and how to convert to fiat money which is the purpose. That is why most people avoid it since they don't understand or have the know-how. But this will change gradually.

That's not what's being discussed in this discussion, you just read the title and then post a trashy post here. The price of bitcoin is not a problem as long as you have assets equivalent to your $$. Owning 1 BTC is no worse than owning 2 ETH, meaning we don't need to own 2 BTC to be able to match our assets to 2 ETH. And prices do not really affect the mass adoption of transactions.

The problem is that the total supply of Bitcoin is very limited, so when billions of people use a currency that is only less than 21 million pieces, Bitcoin inevitably has to add a lot of zeros in front of it to be used publicly, and that will make everyone disturbed and feel difficulty in transacting

Ekeh is the kind of users that fascinate me. This guys has been here since 2017 and i am sure he has a much longer history of trashier posts that they would have deleted by now. He seems to have some difficulty with english and is not a good communicator. What is fascinating that the ICO stages, bounties, DeFi etc would have allowed people like him to have earned quite a bit. Maybe not him but there must be plenty like him. That is the most awesome thing about bitcoin. People everywhere have benefited from it if they are willing to engage with the technology.

While you castigated ekeh for not being on topic, the limited supply and decimal numbers have nothing to do with why people finding it difficult to use bitcoin to begin with. Its the unfamiliarity. You can fix supply of a currency as 100 Billion but nobody would be willing to transact till it is secure and free from centralized interference, which almost all of these "billion-supply" currencies are.

This type of immature behaviour is oftenly seen by peop who aren't aware of internet.
They don't trust internet with their money.
Moreover many people are also there, who thought Bitcoins are the source of Gambling, for which they often advised their own friends and families to stay away from Bitcoin.
But i guess it won't last longer, as in this generation all things are adapted via internet and the youth are becoming more concerned about the environment.
I predict in the next few years, we can see Bitcoins as a reputable Currency.

It's not just people who don't understand Bitcoin that prefer not to use it , even those who understand it don't want to use it for money transfers because of the volatile nature of it.

But I think bitcoin should use for international transfers. maybe some people don’t find it interesting because of the chargers, but if any one is comfortable pay the charge the person can go ahead with his or her transaction

if stability is what they want then why not try stable coins , the goodness of using them is that you are still here on crypto or they are still covered with crypto and blockchain unlike to other stable payment methods that are non crypto/blokchain based and because of that ,  they have flaws .  by using stable coins not only that your money will not fluctuate but i think the fees of using a stable coins are also less expensive or idk maybe some have totally zero fees  . btc is already fine even if people will not use it for daily transactions though

Those who dont prefer bitcoin when sending/receiving money either local or international are most likely think its a scam because thats the case here.

Some people who are not aware of bitcoin and the technology behind it are thinking its not real or just a scam online.

I cant blame them though because of numerous scam incidents here that are using bitcoin as tool to scam other people.

Those people who refuses to use bitcoin as payment method are those who thought that bitcoin is a scam and they fear that they will lose their funds and something like that. Their mindset is negatively affecting the adoption for an easiest and reliable transactions. We can't blame their hesitations because there are a lot of negative things that people who knew less about it had stated. But, I know that time will come eventually that they will lose their doubts and tried it, because we are much modern now and crypto currencies trend and popularity is getting wider and the adoption are getting more bolder.

The main reason why people avoid using bitcoin is that they are thinking that it is a scam, that is how some people think about cryptocurrency in our country, even though they haven't tried it yet, they just don't believe that they can have money online, they think that was because of being lack of knowledge, they don't know how can they use it or what can bitcoin do for them.
I also encountered this scenario before when I am about to give money to my brother in another country, he doesn't even know things about cryptocurrency so it takes time before I send him money. I just teach him some basics about it.

Because of this reason why we will struggle to have a massive adoption and those scam created are the barricade for good visibility to the person who doesn't know it. And if there's really an informative drive that will help Bitcoin to get a spotlight for sure the case will be different in terms of people's decision making. its because of a lot of scammers in bitcoin sites therefore many people avoiding bitcoin they will surely safe there money in other transactions and to much phishing spamming and other delaying projects

So far I have figured out 4 reasons why people avoid bitcoin and other cryptocurrency

1) Some people think that this all is a huge pyramid aka Ponzi scheme.
2) Some people heard a lot about scams, hackers and etc. They also know that once lost crypto via scam or hack, funds can not be returned. There is no "back" or "cancel" transaction button. You cant roll back blockchain
3) Some people still think that cryptocurrency is illegal
4) Fees. People don't understand fees. With fiat, you pay constant amount for a transaction, based on your agreement with bank. With crypto, you might pay different transaction fee for two identical transactions, performed with 1 second difference.

 People always avoid everything unknown to themselves. If we take the world's population, a very small number of people really figured out what Bitcoin is. Also, many people have lost money on scam projects and they tell bad information about cryptocurrency. Another reason is that bitcoin is not stable in price, it recently fell to $ 4,000, and today it is already $ 10,000, and it is not known what will happen tomorrow. People are afraid to buy it for a high price, so that tomorrow it will drop in price.

People are projected the negative side more than the benefits of it. So those who are unaware or do not know much end up taking decision that it is dangerous and better to stay away from such things else they will lose money. Also some countries do not want crypto to be used so they do negative publicity more so that they can inform people why they do not want to make it legal.

there are lots of reasons that be attributed to this but from my observation and communication with people in my surroundings, work place i realize a good percentage is lack of understanding, (this is base on my encounter with friends, family, colleagues and what have you) am telling you lack of understanding plays a very major role why many people are still avoiding btc,
that negative perception already portray by the media to the public have real taken a hold on how people see btc, couple with the numerous scams and hacks the space are experiencing on a daily basis, however, continuous enlightenment will definitely change the perception of the majority. 

The network is really slow and the fees are comparatively high, this is why people avoid btc transactions. I think that in a couple years things are gonna be better cuz a lot of devs hae been working on the improvement of the Network.

Frankly speaking, although half the world feels bitcoin can be beneficial for people on earth, they will think thousands of times to adopt or switch from the fiat system to the bitcoin system. Because a fully decentralized in the government system is only a utopia. The state is still the highest controlling element in the world, so it is impossible for the state to surrender its sovereignty to the market. So a decentralized system will never be fully adopted by a country.

I think also he who don't know about the using of btc can avoid it .We can easily do transaction nation to nation securely and also trade on it .You said really well that volatile nature can make losses sometime but its so useful on trading that's why we love cryptocurrency,

That's a salient point why there seems to be a sort of apathy towards the use of Bitcoin by the larger society - lack of government support for adoption. Once there is a legislation to that effect, use and demand for Bitcoin will spiral out of control. Trust me.

Well i guess it isn't only the reason why people avoid bitcoin, i guess people who avoid bitcoin does not have any idea what bitcoin is. And maybe those people who refused bitcoin though they already have idea about what is bitcoin is that they are being afraid of taking risks and maybe not willing to learn more about it. And yes we do have shops and services already that accept bitcoin as a mode of payment.

I don't really see bitcoin faster than online banking, cause maybe I'm poor I can't afford to pay a high fee but still, it ain't that fast. I still prefers fiat debit/credit card than using btc for something. The availability of btc to people is a reason why they avoid it too. Of course behind a fact that almost everywhere, bitcoin has this image of being used in illegal things or scam even though fiat is also involved with those kind of things. Btc adoption could be the change but it is another problem too.

We have gone a long way and people are not fools to not know about bitcoin, the basic problem with a common man is that if his wallet is lost or hacked he wont be getting his money back. Globally the number of online transactions has increased and how can you claim that people do not trust internet with their money, just compare the increase in the number of online transaction in the past ten years and you will understand the difference.

Perfect been said! the awareness is continuously growing and we will be able to determine that from those online transactions that being made. Even there are still many people who continue to doubt and being afraid expressing their interest to this new cryptocurrency but we can say that slowly it's being recognized.

Those incidents of hacking and news about scams are factors that pushing people away, eventually once they figured  out for sure they will be there and start their own journeys.

Basically, ignorance is what makes people lose their asset in their wallet easily.

If they are unaware towards scammers and hackers then probably they will not secure their assets much harder to prevent being a victim of it. People avoid bitcoin because they think that a digital currency or a cryptocurrency can be easily stolen or hacked from an online or digital wallet that a user utilize. But they should know that bitcoin is much easier to transact compared to fiat that undergoes a lot of process.

maybe if your relatives don't really know anything about bitcoin they'll be hesitant to do the transaction, So it is really important that the person your trying to send your BTC know how it works too. LOL, and the fees of sending Bitcoin today is a no joke. Maybe they'll use it once they saw everyone around them uses it too.

Well, it's not that easy to trust an asset that isn't recommended by the government itself that's why some are trying to avoid cryptocurrency because of ignorance.

Also, cryptocurrency was being used in scams and different crimes that's why they do not fully trust it because it was being used by the criminals. People are being hesitant to use some particular things that haven't been used daily. They also prefer using fiat especially when in daily transactions.

Personally, I don't consider using Bitcoin in my daily transaction either not because I have negative thoughts on it just like other people but I just don't think it would be a good idea to use it as a currency. For me, I consider it as an asset just like gold, I prefer it hold rather than use it for commodities. Anyway, I think one of the reasons why they avoid it is because this has been used in illegal activities that is why it gained so much negative feedback. For Bitcoin to be accepted by people their government must be the one who should introduce it  to them because several countries are still against it that is why they are afraid of using it.

It is true though, it is fast but the problem is that I don't think people would be accepting bitcoin as bitcoin. People here in the country use an exchange to send money, they will send it as a bitcoin then it will end up as fiat in a remittance center. It is not for all I guess and right now, I'd rather just hold it and trade it rather than sending it as payment since I could just do that with a fiat.

Also, we can't just push anyone to use bitcoin or crypto just because, for us or for you, it's a faster way of transaction. Most people, of course, would go to their usual and trusted means, and that is using fiat.

The most important reason for people to avoid Bitcoin even when they're told that such transaction would be much faster is the risk. They trust banks and feel like the money will go through even if it takes a week.

They don't trust Bitcoin because to get it they have to register on exchanges and these exchanges are known for losing money, getting hacked, going bankrupt and employing lazy and unprofessional support.

People who are not panatic, maybe they will think of it that way, their bank will feel safer and more secure if there is a mistake in their transaction even though it is a long process, some people still believe it.

But I see that now many have switched to fast bitcoin in transactions, we know this speed is more than usual and investors will use blockchain technology in their transactions they don't care about hackers because they already know assets must be stored in hardware wallets than on the exchange with full of risk.

Because they don't know about bitcoin is or they don't know actually bitcoin is, they just heard from some people who tell that bitcoin is bad. Yeah, I found this issue from my closest friend. He doesn't know that I often use bitcoin and I get used to use it my whole daily life, not for transaction but I use it for trading purpose or sending money.

He told me he will send money for his brother who study abroad and someone was suggested to use bitcoin to send it but he was not believe to bitcoin because there are so many negative information against it. I told him that he should look something subjectively, don't just believe to other people who tell that bitcoin is bad and it is just one side. And told him that bitcoin is good and bitcoin is not scam and I tried to persuade to send bitcoin to his brother and finally he likes it.

People also feel safe in using banks for saving their money because they think that the money would be safe in the banks as compared to saving it in their own bitcoin wallets as there isn't any risk in loosing their money if they store it in the baks but if they store it in their bitcoin wallets then they can actually loose it if they forget their wallet seed or the password and then there won't be any other way to recover those lost funds.

I think it's not just because of that, there are still many other reasons including because there are some people who take advantage of "bitcoin" with the lure of investments such as HYIP and MLM
in my country people avoid it because it is because there is a group of people who use the name bitcoin to deceive people

It's been a long time issue now. First thing it's volatile, second thing some of the country doesn't allowed it and last thing the Bitcoin
and other cryptocurrency seems very complicated to someone they might be needing some time to understand or to learn how to use Bitcoin, accept Bitcoin,

Judging by the total valid bitcoin wallet and level of awareness, I believe only one-third of the world think bitcoin will be helpful and it understandable that the government system will never support the fully decentralization policy which is the reason most of the politicians say negative things about bitcoin and later declare it as people liberty when they leave office.

Actually some bitcoin transaction is not faster than fiat currency transaction in some extent,because some bitcoin transactions almost take up to three days or more than three (3) days before confirmation, so in that aspects I think both of them transaction speed is equivalent, and from op no one avoid bitcoin it's only people that don't know the rudiments of BTC will avoid BTC


Yeah you are saying the reality because bitcoin transaction really needs wallet before it can be able to send to whom ever that is receiving it and before the person coverts it to paper money it really needs exchange platform such as luno and binance in order to covert  it's to money.

Not everyone has access to bitcoin, and in some areas liquidating crypto is not as convenient as receiving direct cash right away. Bitcoin may be faster than doing bank transfers or sending remittances, the problem is, can it be used readily or cashed out without hassle especially those who are not familiar with cryptocurrency know-hows.

I also send the same thing to my friend who is receiving money from abroad but their problem with it are:
1. They don't really know much about crypto currencies.
2. The sender doesn't have enough time to study or understand it.

Many people don't use Bitcoin as mode of transaction because they lack the knowledge of the technology, and they are use to the traditional methods. Naturally it's not easy for some people to accept new things in there life but gradually all this will change with time.

The problem with using bitcoin is how they convert bitcoin to cash and vice versa. We cannot advise them to use such an informal money transfer service. Nor will they accept such a service. While transferring money quickly, it was also quite troublesome. For the average person, they would choose safety over speed.

Bitcoin is a totally in non-regulated space, therefore the money is not safe also another major issue with bitcoin is liquidity, so if prices crash or if a bitcoin exchange goes bust. The returns, are also inflated, which indicates that the cryptocurrency is sliding towards bubble territory and even though it is a cryptocurrency, you can't really buy anything with it.

Well, I could say that for those people that I know but they do not actually avoid bitcoin since in the first place, they don't know what it is. The people that I know who avoid bitcoin or refuse to use it are the ones that saw it on the news or in an articles that it is being used by a lot of scammers.

I think its because of fluctuating market so that people are in fear of BTC. You will see normal fiat market is fixed maximum time with its value but BTC value can change 11k$ to 6k$ in one night. So how people can depends on BTC? I think it needs more time to flexible market of BTC so that people can easily believe on it and hope very recent we will see that.

People avoid Bitcoin because they believe it's a scam. They don't take their time to perform a research about how Bitcoin works and how it could be of benefit to their daily lives. The majority of the people in the mainstream world believe what the mainstream media and governments say about Bitcoin. And knowing that these entities usually spread negative comments about Bitcoin, it scares many people away from cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin's slow transaction confirmation times, high fees, and price volatility, makes matters worse. In its current state, Bitcoin works as a store of value instead of digital cash you can use for everyday purchases. Even with the Lightning Network around, merchant adoption is still low. The Lightning Network has a steep learning curve, which limits accessibility to non tech-savvy people.

In the end, Bitcoin will be used by libertarians, geeks, and some people looking to an alternative to Gold. The rest will continue to use Fiat because it's stable, easy to use, and trustworthy. As long as you and I do our part in spreading the word about Bitcoin's benefits to the world, nothing else matters. ^ This is probably one of the main reason why people refuse or avoid bitcoin, they think it is a scam because of the social media spreading the scam even and misleading people that bitcoin is a scam not a group of people who make a crime/fraud that put of the bad image in the bitcoin name. These people are don't know how bitcoin will work. Luck of knowledge is the main reason also that they did not adopt bitcoin. Nevertheless, there are also certain countries that banned bitcoin, if bitcoin was banned in your country, people will also avoid using it that probably they will afraid also to have punishment by the law.

Well, bitcoin could be a little less volatile. If I was receiving a payment of a million $ as a liability and had it in Bitcoin, I would already have incurred a loss/gain on the deposit. No one wants to receive large payments in bitcoin. Also, what if you forget your seed?

How to transact with bitcoin is a major obstacle that had kept people away from using it, to some people it somehow how cumbersome to open a wallet, deposit fiat to bitcoin and send to another person, once this basic knowledge is acquired everything becomes easy, however do people have the will to learn all these things so as to able use bitcoin except they have someone who can volunteer to teach and put them through else people will continue to avoid it,  even though some believed it is a ponzi scheme or it is a scam all these excuses notwithstanding a lot of people want to use bitcoin.

I don't have that much but I will never let my seed be forgotten or lost, the same with my private key. Either way, if that is transacted, it will be a talk of the community. People are taking advantage of those movements to earn some profit in the long run.

I think it's because of higher transaction fees and also not all are already know bitcoin and how to use it. They must prefer the way they are more familiar rather than using bitcoin which they don't even what is it. Thank you, though the length of time of delivery of bitcoin may be short but the processes too may not be that easy for many, just that we are used to it in our ages. The older people will actually like to do it the way they understand and think will be safer. So we cannot blame them. Some people still don't know how bitcoin works and are not ready to worry themselves as long as they have alternative.

I don't think that they would just let it in there without doing anything to take care of it. I know that there are incidents like that happened in the past but with the value of Bitcoin right now, investors especially holders have their safety measures and I don't think it would be the same as in the past. Right now, one of the most reasons why Bitcoin is lost is that because they are accidentally showing their private keys or maybe because of scams and hacks that is happening.

i don't think they are avoiding it , they are just scared to try something new. Some people still stick with their accustomed way of receiving or depositing money. Either you teach them how or explain it to them, they would still do the things they are accustomed to or experienced. If you show them some comparison about receiving money in bitcoin and other transactions, perhaps that would change their minds.

For this, I think it leads to more knowledge and habits. Why some people dont use bitcoin for transactions? because all of this is not that easy for a beginner. Maybe for us it is easy because we already know a lot about how blockchain works but for beginners or people who don't understand at all,it will be very difficult to make them believe that transactions are safe.

I actually asked it to myself before, if BTC already existing, why not most of the people around the world we're not using it as a currency in the market, especially in the world of trading. Moreover, it is truly possible due to advancement of technology, Bitcoin can be the future of currencies due to its efficiency, effectiveness and accessibility.
 
I research about it and I found out the reasons. (1) Bitcoin currency and cryptocurrency are too risky because of its volatility and can be a problem because of its security. (2) Most of the people are not literate about it and it is hard to understand because of its complexity, that's why they find it too difficult to use. (3) Using BTC and cryptocurrency is still on its way to be a reliable currency to the public, that's why there are some countries that has already implemented regulations about its usage such as US, Canada, Japan, Philippines and some more, in order to balance the user's protection while having technology innovation. (4) As said above, It is difficult to use or difficult to buy. Besides, what is the difference of using BTC and cryptocurrency if there are other easy methods of payments that can be use such as Paypal, credit cards, Apple Pay and etc. (5) Additionally, some people are relying on its historical background that there are negative events happened while using BTC, some evidences are hacking towards cryptocurrencies trading, crypto wallets and public blockchain, that leads them to have negative view about it. (6) Using BTC and cryptocurrency are somehow are of little usage on a massive basis.

Mentioned above are the reasons why BTC and cryptocurrencies are being avoided by most people. They find it unworthy and too risky. All the factors stated can be answered and solved by having PROPER EDUCATION, TIME and then having PROPER REGULATION can be helpful too. Hence, all obstacles and doubt about the usage of BTC and cryptocurrency will be removed in the near future.

Its no news that alot people do reject using using bitcoin for their daily transactions, I believe people will always stay away from something they have no clue about, can you just start using something you have the clue about? "No". So they will always pick the traditional bank transfer system, which they believe is the best way to do their daily transactions,it's all caused by "ignorance", I think its up to us the crypto enthusiasts to educate them about the use of crypto for their daily transactions, we have to make them see the bright side of using crypto in their daily transactions, maybe through that way they will see the bright side with us and also adopt it fully.

Well the two people that are involved in the transactions should have bitcoin wallet in the first place because if they will consider using bitcoin in their transactions and then the other one isn't fully aware of what bitcoin is then they might have problems with the transaction. Its better to stick to the traditional way if you are not still comfortable using bitcoin and I can't really blame those people who are afraid or who avoid using bitcoin for you will really risk a lot in there, it takes good amount of knowledge.

They'll avoid Bitcoin as much as possible in order to stay out of trouble from the authorities. Another reason why people avoid Bitcoin is because it's a new kind of money. It's been shown that people are reluctant to change their ways. Something that's new brings a lot of questions to the average person. Fiat is old and trusted by many people worldwide. But that's still not the case with Bitcoin. Aside from believing it's a scam, price volatility and hacks do more harm than good towards Bitcoin's reputation in the mainstream world. I'd say we should give Bitcoin some time for it to mature. Slowly but surely, governments are recognizing Bitcoin as legitimate. Many people in the world has not known about bitcoin maybe they avoid using bitcoin because of they already heard about some negative thoughts about bitcoin even do its not fault of bitcoin because we know of who are the one is fault are those people using the name of bitcoin for there bad intentions.

And in this era bitcoin has not fully using it for transaction or using payment in any department store. Because most of us is using cash for as always but time on time I've seen more people are now are preferably digital money are easy for them to use.

And those who have used the technology once fell in love to Bitcoin. Have had some good times with newbie investors who later cling to Bitcoin because of it transaction and it potential in term of investment. Those who actually get afraid from this technology are those who don't want to tried out something new. This just reminded me of my past, the  technology wasn't my favourite back in 2017 when I lost some of my investment but in 2019 I got used to the technology.

Very few people avoid Bitcoin those who know its proper use will never avoid Bitcoin. The reason some people avoid Bitcoin is because they have no knowledge of Bitcoin and in many countries Bitcoin has not yet been legalized so they avoid Bitcoin. There are many traders in the market who do not know anything about the crypto market and avoid bitcoin as they are more likely to make a profit after greed. Bitcoin is a very profitable parent in the international market the wise will never avoid it.

It is all about comfort in the end,,, plus we have to remember that personal experience matters. A lot of people have been burnt by technology too. Some see crypto as bad because they were either victims of hacks or scams,,, and they failed to understand they were not using bitcoin the way it was supposed to be used, but that is not their fault and it is up to us to help them get there.

IMO, The only true barrier to Bitcoin is education - We need to teach people why Bitcoin matters.

Trying to understand why people avoid bitcoin can be diversified. Bitcoin as a  Cryptocurrency is decentralized,digitalized and technical to operate. The awareness and confidence of bitcoin is still spreading among men and it’s obviously going to take time.  Bitcoin is barely two decades since it was created and with its current world trend and acceptance in some regions it’s clear that soon everyone will still find bitcoin interesting.

Like the saying goes “Information is power” many are still yet to understand the benefits and security in bitcoin exchange so you basically don’t expect that person to use bitcoin in time of transactions unless he/she has been properly oriented about bitcoin and convinced. 

Bitcoin still have some limitations that make it seems like people are avoiding it. Like I said earlier “Information is power” and environment is also a great determinant as many are still blind about bitcoin benefits. Everybody wants to win and be at advantage so if bitcoin is well explained to them they would certainly not avoid but to take interest in bitcoin.

To be frank, some people are still very far behind, you will be surprise the number of people in your very location who have no idea what btc is all about, i have encounter many people here in my location who don't have flimsy idea what is crypto or btc, to me it feels like they are from a different universe ;D
i can't imagine till now so many people are still very ignorant to what crypto is, i honestly find this people lazy, why, because this days we have so many crypto advert online, if they can visit Facebook website they can also visit this crypto site and do small reading, start from somewhere.  

Yupp one of many reasons is that even though they know how bitcoin has a lot more benefits than any other payment  processor such western union that charge you extremely a lot. It's not that easy when you realized that to have an access to convert bitcoin into your own currency is forbidden and too complicated to find a way out of that problem especially for a newcomer .. so that time they decided to look for another way which they think it's better to pay the fee rather than confused think to look for the solution.

we can't blame bitcoin for what you mentioned in number 2. If you lost your wallet information then obviously it is your fault and for this reason you can't say that bitcoin is a avoidable coin.

In the case of the bitcoin wallet that was not your problem at all. A broken hard drive in the past is actually annoying but who uses a hard drive as a wallet these days? You could use other software wallets like Electrum etc. The number 2 is just nature in bitcoin for having too much volatility. That might actually be a reason why people are avoiding bitcoin but at the same time when you already have the knowledge in bitcoin and crypto, it might be the reason why you are investing. Having that volatility is a big key in making a big profit in bitcoin.

It is possible to create a bitcoin wallet and learn about its working process through youtube within few minutes.people would like to do this rather wait for a week.so that's not a problem.the point is legality as we know btc is still not legal in many countrirs. I think the most common reason is rather that the technical understanding and technological barrier is too high for many. Bitcoin works differently than online bank transfers, for example. You need an technological understanding and you are completely responsible for your Bitcoins. You can't just go to the bank and say "block my account" because I lost my password, but if you make a mistake with Bitcoin, the money is gone forever. Besides it is still difficult to pay with Bitcoin. Those are all factors, which are understandable, why many still do not want to handle Bitcoin.

In my opinion, what happened to bitcoin at its peak is hardly a fraud.
Yes, people invested a lot of money in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and then the price collapsed so that many lost huge amounts of money.
But this is a common situation for the trading market. Everyone should understand that when they invest in cryptocurrency or any other resource, they should be ready to part with them.

People have been avoided bitcoin because they are fear to lose a certain amount of money. I think it is a trauma also for other people to buy bitcoin specially when they experienced the 2017 crashed in the market. Others might caught also by scammers who promised that their capital will exponentially increase. However, when they see that bitcoin will rise up again they will buy when it is in ceiling price due to FOMO. And when it crash again, they will hate bitcoin. These people are only good for profits not knowing the specific use of bitcoin.

This is as a result of lack of awareness, most people does not know how Bitcoin works and are always skeptical in using it. It will take some time to shift from traditional way of doing things to the modern era.

Probably because Bitcoin is involved with scam accusations usually in pyramid scheme's, and cloud mining, before when Bitcoin was just starting. Also with the lack of knowledge on how it works they think Bitcoin is an app or company that's been around the web, stealing people's money when you invest in it. I don't know how did this misconception started but i blame the mainstream media for it.

People have different reasons why they did not using bitcoin as their transaction maybe they did not know how does the bitcoin to use. For us it is easy to use but maybe for them is not because it is new for them. They are trusting to the old or the the method they use before for sending money and we did not blame them because even us before we use that but because of the bitcoin we can send money where ever you are and the fees is much lower than others there is a lot of advantage of having a bitcoin.

Unfortunately there are various reasons why bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are ignored, the first that come to mind is the murky image that the mass media continually give about this fantastic technology, people are therefore afraid and prevented. First, They must have their own reasons not to use Bitcoin or any transactions paid by Bitcoin. Digital crypto is not their choice. They prefer using cash to paying online.

They're only judging Bitcoin based on its price and negative uses in the mainstream world. But they haven't gone deeper to explore its hidden potential. Some will believe what it's said by mainstream media and the government, while others will do their own research to know what Bitcoin is all about. As long as we do our part in spreading awareness of Bitcoin to the mainstream world, there should be nothing to worry about. Bitcoin will have both its supporters and haters. It happens all of the time with Fiat and any other asset/commodity/precious metal in the real world. We cannot force people to join the Bitcoin revolution as not everybody has the same preferences.

Given that Fiat still dominates the mainstream economy, Bitcoin will co-exist with the traditional monetary system for a long time. Decentralization and censorship resistance is all that matters in order to bring banking to the unbanked. Otherwise Bitcoin will be no different than ordinary banks. So it is more on educating individuals how to use it will remove their hesitations towards this technology. But not all of them are willing to learn. Most of them avoid bitcoin because they hear that is associated with fraud and scam and they think because of the decentralisation of bitcoin that in the case of been scamed there is no authorities to turn to but they all forget or are not familiar with the beneficts of crypto.

Since bitcoin is broadcasted in television that it is a scam, people are fear to invest. That is why, we, pioneers of cryptocurrency must share also this knowledge that we have in our society (friends, colleagues and families). So that, we can help other people as well as bitcoin community to become knowledgeable in terms of investing and using of bitcoin as currency.

From what I am seeing here, the general reason is indeed ignorance. Because if you don't know a particular subject, of course, you will be hesitant to touch it. But I guess, people should slowly learn about new things as sometimes there are benefits when you uncovered a specific subject. Just like these days, a lot of delivery services are now moving into digital payment, and those that are used to traditional payment of using cash are forced to learn how to do this digital payment. And actually, it has the benefits of not using cash (which is identified as potential source of transfer of virus). And people are accepting it to avoid the spread of infection.

That's a major reason, people come to know about the scams and other cryptocurrency frauds prior than the true value of bitcoin. This makes them stand away and watch what is happening than making their involvement into cryptocurrency. People never avoid bitcoin, but the circumstances make them into a dilemma. I've used several wallets and when in trouble, they're all approachable and answering for issues that I can't answer on my own. Mostly they have a Telegram channel for technical issues. Use only the wallets that are reputable.

Bitcoin is technical to learn and people run away from bitcoin because of so many reasons. Some feels it’s not secure enough to deposit or invest your funds into because of its anonymous and decentralized nature. They are bothered about the security strength of the bitcoin wallet and how protected it is in their device. Simple, one does not know the technology, then one does not try it. I don't think there is already good system that would ensure safe and speedy transfer of bitcoin-converted cash from one wallet in one country to another wallet in another country. If there are good systems out there that can be developed then we should have already one setup for all to use. But since we still do not have one then it might be safe to say that the infrastracture is there (internet connection and all associated with it) but the software systems the transfer mechanisms (whatever it may be called) needs to be setup and setup properly as to avoid any issues. Money transfer is a good but risky business if not done properly I guess.

The market is cyclic and volatile not only for bitcoin! Absolutely everything goes through cycles of growth and decline ... Even if you compare a crypto market with a dotcom bubble, many projects of that time feel good! ;)

In my opinion, for an international scale transaction, at least the legal strength is needed so that our transactions are truly safe for both parties. The majority of bitcoins escape government regulations when a fraudulent act occurs, while transactions using third parties are easier to solve the problem of fraudulent transactions (for example, transacting using PayPal).

We will never object to paying higher fees or a longer transaction duration, provided that our money is safe. And transactions can be processed smoothly.

I don't mean to attack Bitcoin users, but some cases of fraudulent transactions using Bitcoin cannot be resolved easily due to limited information obtained by legal institutions.

That's for those who have experience already with bitcoin. But for starters, like for those who doesn't have any single experience yet, one reason why they avoid bitcoin could be lack of knowledge. People are slowly evolving as well as getting accustomed to using advanced technology. PayPal is now popular but before 2000 it was on a small scale. Think of it 10 years later, Bitcoin was born. Fast but the problem is that I don't think people will accept bitcoin as bitcoin. People in the country use an exchange to send money, they will send it as a bitcoin and then it will end up as fiat money in a remittance center. Imagine sending bitcoin to someone with very high amount of miners fee. What profit is there? It's like saying I buy a shoe online for $25 and pay shipping fee of $30.  As Bitcoin increases miners fee increases.

Besides this, governments and mainstream media have been giving Bitcoin a negative reputation to the public. We still really cannot blame old people for not wanting to learn something new since maybe they are too tired to transition into something else but little do they know that it can really help them since it would be converted into a payment system in which you do not have to carry cash. Some will have a good perception about Bitcoin, while others won't. What matters is that Bitcoin remains as decentralized as possible in order to resist third-party interference. In the current situation, scammers are capable of doing their thing. Because of scamming, people tend to trust less to what they are seeing on the internet. Bitcoin runs through internet so people trust less to bitcoin. The more fake news came from the internet, the more that the investors trust less.

The only people who avoid BTC at this point are the same people who didn't believe in bitcoin when its value was still a cent. They're probably bitter with the fact that they missed the opportunity to become millionaires if only they believe the potential of bitcoin in the first place. I don't also think that people nowadays will hate on bitcoin. Bitcoin is being used by many financial and commercial institutions already. We're living in computer era and that's the reality. No one can deny the fact that almost everything nowadays are being done online, not to mention the effects of COVID19 pandemic to the economy.

It’s simple as many are yet to know about bitcoin technology and it isn’t easy to make someone buy the idea of bitcoin is they never have interest. People are more comfortable with already existing procedures especially when it’s tested and trusted. My point is that they are not comfortable with bitcoin transactions even though you claim it’s more faster. They are more convinced with the regular fiat transactions.

But like I said it’s very simple and it’s almost magical because the world is appreciating bitcoin and they will by incidence or accident finally see the potential in bitcoin and would want to subscribe to the technology.

For me, maybe because they’re scared in taking risks, or due to parabolic rise and high volatility, or because they are seeing some news from the media about Bitcoin scam, or just invested in a ponzi scam involving Bitcoin as front, etc. But as the old saying goes, there is no progress or success if we can’t take risks. Invest what we can afford to lose plus learn how to manage risk very well.

Not all Countries have a place to deal using bitcoin, therefore they will avoid bitcoin via transfer, it is likely that in that Country there is no transaction service using bitcoin. It is better to exchange bitcoin to the applicable currency in that Country.

Not all people are familiar with cryptocurrency properly, If I talk about my own family, very few people in my family are aware of crypto transactions. If I know, they dont avoid bitcoin, they just dont believe in using it. it is true that bitcoin is easier when used for international transactions, it doesnt take long time. but people who dont know bitcoin, just think its a scam because what they believe is ordinary money. I have also experienced this, they underestimate me and underestimate bitcoin. they just lack education about bitcoin, if they understand how it works, maybe they will want to use bitcoin. it just takes more time to introduce bitcoin to many people.

Majority of people in a local community don't even have an idea what Bitcoin is and some others know but still hesitant due to the negativity they've got from news or in the internet about scams or they are just not the techy guys. Lack of crypto education is one of the reason why they stay away from Bitcoin.

When I asked a few friends if they heard about bitcoin, the first thing that entered their minds is the word "scam". Many people shy away from what they perceived as scams and just want to move along without researching what it is and how it works. Anyway, if you are going to see the good side of that, it only means that Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general can stay as a niche thing and only a few percent of Earth's population would be able to participate to it.

Youre right, there are many hackers and scammers in bitcoin currency. and bitcoin is also a high risk. but with existing technology, all of that can be minimized, for example using a personal wallet to store bitcoins such as those sold on ebay or amazon, it can be used to avoid hackers and scammers. If its about the risk that the price of bitcoin fluctuates, instead it should be used for profit, from shorter trading for example. it all depends on the views we have. but why do many avoid bitcoin, in my opinion because they dont know how profitable bitcoin is. I will like to contribute to this topic from my research and experience I think lots of people avoid bitcoin due to so many reasons, some people avoid bitcoin due to illiteracy some people don't really know much about bitcoin and I also think some people also avoid bitcoin due to high rate of scam always attached to it, lots of people have been scammed with bitcoin and they don't want to fall for that same mistake any more.

Actually the main reason why people avoid bitcoin is because they don't understand. Not all people like to learn something new. Some people only follow something that is familiar in their environment so they can feel safer because they know what will happen next. What we need to do to solve this provlem is by make bitcoin popularity increase, if bitcoin become more familiar to them then there are less people avoid bitcoin. And the other reasons are maybe bitcoin is not legal in their country yet and as cryptocurrency market is very volatile bitcoin value maybe decrease. But I think this is not problems because many investors like bitcoin volatility.

The main factor as to why certain individual doesn't consider bitcoin as their main way of transaction isn't because of it's popularity rather because of the usage of it. Yes, bitcoin's transaction is faster compared to wire transfer or bank transfer to confirm but not everyone has the grasp to use it and even transact with through fiat. Conversion of bitcoin to fiat isn't available to everyone which makes it harder for users to use it as their main way of transaction.
Another reason is the volatility of bitcoin which can change at anytime. Imagine buying something at 1000$ and receiving a payment on bitcoin which later became 700$ after a few hours. There are a lot of factors as to why bitcoin isn't the choice of someone and not just because of popularity and fast transaction.

Why should people use bitcoin?
I am of course a supporter of cryptocurrencies and I like the idea of decentralization... I understand that my bitcoins belong only to me and no one else! That I can send them without any barriers and government oversight anywhere in the world!
But still, why should people use bitcoin and not VISA or MasterCard?

IMO the biggest thing that keeps people away is that BTC gets its value by consensus and isn't backed by anything. Esp. elder people, they just ask "why do I have to pay for this? what's the value?". And when you tell them how BTC works and why a decentralized thing can't be backed by anything they just lose you at some point.

Considering bitcoin as a scam is never an accurate one but considering bitcoin is a gambling game, a form of investment without government control, it is relatively accurate and when governmental organizations have no authority to participate or decide here, the ratio of risk and losses would belong to the user, not including the responsibility of the government. The government has made announcements about these issues, strong media have kept people away from bitcoin, fortunately a portion of the young are still understanding how bitcoin works.

I don't think it's easy to accept the existence of bitcoin in the middle of society. Because some of the uniqueness is a little bit logical. Just like how can bitcoin be created and then abandoned and not taken care of by its creator? If people think this way it's possible they think bitcoin is illegal. However, over time, in reality, bitcoin is one of the best passive income and one of the means of investing with tremendous profits.

I don't think many people consider bitcoin a scam... It's just that most people are used to the old stuff...
