Creating new concepts means increasing the amount of scamming in new ways. I think i had to come back to invest in IEO.

- You know ICO had a lot of success at a time where investors weren’t disappointed, but a few days later a lot of scam ICOs were invented where investors lost a lot of their money.

- In the same way, many projects run by IEO got a lot of response at first but later they did not last long.

Again at this point in the same way Defi has created excitement where investors were smart at first time by making more profits but that is now where the scam scheme has grown and i don't think this concept will matter much anymore.[b/]

That is just it, ICO had so much success even many old projects which are still with us today once had ICO but the high number of scams is what lead to its death. Even ICO rating platforms, I have forgotten their names, which were made to try their best failed woefully hence the advent of IEO. IEO however, is a bit better although it has similarities with ICO, but yet till today it is still functioning but no much hype like before. Also, although there are scams in IEO but these scams occurs in smaller exchanges. Hence, if I am to choose, I would choose for IEO to come back, since it is better and have little scams. As for DeFi, the hype is gone and only few good projects are coming up.

If I am going to ask ICO in 2017 is much more better than ever, that's what I want to return again actually, because most of the ICO during this year was mostly ending up a good result of their campaign project. only few of them failed only unlike when 2018 up to 2019 it became rampant while IEO was only good in the beginning but not long last.

Return, was IEO already gone?

If I would choose, of course I would like to see ICO but a more regulated one because with ICO, there's no limitation of projects created in the market, unlike IEO where mostly the exchange dictate the future of the project, which is not good because it would also limit the creation of projects as investors will just likely invest on projects that has IEO in big exchanges, which not every project can afford to get listed.

I would prefer ICO because most of the time IEO are instantly filled up. ICO back then is powered by the community while IEO its the whales that are buying the token.

Between the two I prefer IEO because the project is already in the market, something that the projects in the ICO have not yet achieve, exchange is very important so investors will not have to wait, for the project to get in the market
, on IEO it depends on exchange that's hosting the IEO, they will not let scammers use their platform to scam.

Hmm that was little bit difficult, Even ICO it's already dead but if the project was have an great purpose, Good team and partnering or backed by some big Company, Altcoin, Etc it's still have a good chance to Success, Same with IEO, Only big Exchange platform that can guarantee the Token Sale will be a success like Binance, Bittrex, Kucoin, Hotbit, etc. Between the two I prefer IEO rather than ICO also IDO Was great too since it was directly sale to the community.

IEO is the one that replaced the ICO so it means IEO is far better than ICO and will always preferable as long as they do their IEO to a good and top-level exchange like Binance, there are a lot fo successful IEO than ICO, it is because of creation of IEO that saves investors of million-dollar worth of investment from ICO created by scammers, and besides ICO is a thing of the past.

The trend of ICO is much longer than the IEO, I think the IEO just became popular within months then suddenly investors stop patronizing it. Today there are still ICOs but its trend is not as good as before where many ICOs are becoming successful after one another. I wanted to see that the ICO will shine again like before but we should just be careful because there are scammers who keep creating fake projects in order to deceive and get the money of their future victims. ICO is good as long as we will make investment in a good project where the team behind of it are also good where we can sure that they will not get our money.

I would like it to be only IEO, because I often participate in IEOs on the top cryptocurrency exchanges and very often I managed to get a very good profit and therefore I am for IEO, but about ICO, there are of course a lot of scammers who conduct ICOs and you can lose your investments, therefore, let it be IEO rather than ICO.

I think that you should have noted if those ways are still being used by so many traders to generate more money. I personally will prefer to go back to the ICO and IEO rather than try to bet into the defi which can be a rug pull project anytime.
ICO and IEO is a bit better because both were having more chance to be successful projects.
Just look at how scammers can use defi to cash out the money instantly. It's also the majority of developers in the defi platforms who were anonymous.

I think IEO deserves to be popularized again. Compared to ICOs, IEOs can minimize fraud. if only Exchange would be a really good administrator. they can select a quality project. but the reality is inversely, they put too much priority on profit. so that all projects can pass verification. consequently investors who lose money. if the IEO is popular again, hopefully the exchange can be better at selecting new projects.

Neither! I would rather stay with bitcoin and ETH only! However, if some ICO wants to airdrop free coins then I would definitely welcome that because everyone like free money. But when it comes to investing out of my own poket, it's bitcoin and ETH only.

I did invest in Uniswap and locked up few hundred dollars into their yield mining pool, but the result is still not great! So probably that's going to be my first and last Defi project. If I had invested that amount in Bitcoin and ETH, I would have earned far better return!

I don't want IEO or ICO or any other name to come back. I just want a good project that grows back, because whatever the IEO / ICO fundraising method is or whatever if the project is bad it won't be successful.

ICO and IEO both are the same concepts but unlike ICO, IEO is directly offered in the exchange which later provides more safety and liquidity for the investors.

If I have to choose, ICO is the answer. Why? They were a quick money-making scheme for small investors/consumers. Scam doesn't matter because if you have researched properly and if you think it will return with 2x, you get 2x and forget it. No one can scam you unless you want to be scammed. On the other hand, IEOs were a money-making scheme for exchanges itself. They can invest themselves if they find hype is huge leaving a certain percentage of allocation to be distributed to participants. I felt it from binance because during one IEO (forgot the name), literally, no one was able to get in. I asked everywhere but didn't found someone with allocation.

ICO best to me. The prices are kept in the ICO and if the project can raise capital, then it lists in a good market and goes to the investors with good profit.

IEO for sure. Though ICO is exciting and very popular, there are many scammers who join the bandwagon and disappear with money they collected. While in IEO, though there are  "failed" project but at least it is being screen in exchanges and fraud is minimized. Sad to say IEO is not as popular as ICO during the 2017 boom, imho.

I don't want ICO to come back. Maybe because I had a bad experience with it. I was scammed when I invested in an ICO. It will get better when the entire crypto ecosystem would get better and cryptos take the world by storm.

as far as I know, launched IEOs yesterday, and the increase was said to be only 2x,
even though the IEO is still not dead, ICOs are the same, now ICOs have risen again because of Defi,
many Defi projects launched ICOs and ended success.

I also prefers the coming of IEOs if managed by a reputable exchange atleast this can restore investor's confidence that their investment is in a safer hand whereas in the case of ICOs investors always take a big risk where the chances of recouping or making profits from their investment is very slim due to higher rate of scams, some ICOs even displays some element of trust in their project by parading a crack of  team of experts, an organized advertisement e.t.c still ended up as scam.
Having few trusted IEOs promoted by few reputable exchanges in the cryptoshpere is well enough to make profits and sanitizes the growing numbers of scams in the system.
 

IEO never left so i wonder why you put it as return, till now many project still go for ieo whenever they want to raise funds for their project, even very few project still run ico too although not as much as previous years but there are still few running,
however, ieo is definitely the better option, no need to state the reasons why since we all are already familiar with them, but ieo is still consider more safer than ico any time.  

I also like to see ICO to become popular again like in the year 2017 where most of the investors are making money with it, the hype is so unreal because there are many altcoins that gain 100x in just days after the ICO got listed in an exchange but there are also ICOs in the year 2017 that can considered as failed because they did not reach the minimum cap and also they not able to list their token in an exchange. I hope that next year the ICO will become a trend like in the year 2017 where most of the ICOs are becoming successful.

ieo without thinking too much, after all the troubles and pain ico has caused a lot of people in the previous years, many people including me are not too interested in supporting any project that will opt for ico, nowadays ieo is the safest way to do fund raising where both the investors and project owners will feel at ease,
ieo is definitely my choice, the ico day's are long gone, any project willing to risk doing ico must be very good and be sure of what they have to offer the general public otherwise nobody will invest in that project.

What do you mean return? they are not gone some of the projects still offers ICO and some of the projects still offers IEO.

I wanna ICO return again and back the moment where many people get much profit with investing worth ICO project, beside success an ICO project many bounty campaign participants are happy because ICO always give chance for bounty participants to promoted their project, now the era of ICO have ended just few ICO success and bad moment for bounty campaign participant have promote with bad ICO project without have value after ending. I think ICO most worth and have good value after listing on exchange market than IEO project just monopoly by some exchange market only.

Is it possible that they'd be really back?

When investors hear about ICO or IEO, they are now just avoiding such project even when its a solid one. There are projects right now just using Uniswap for a token offering.   Terms can be very scary for investors because normally after the offering, prices are just going to be dumped by the early investors.  They may be back if the regulations of the project are handled by the government agency but who could tell when it will happen.

We don't need other new ways to crowdfund projects, IEO is ok as long as the IEO is launching on exchanges like Binance and Kucoin, there are a lot of successful crowdfunding in IEO, that are launched on Binance, but IEO is good but we should still look on the potential of the projects, there are a lot fo successful IEO but failed to live to expectation.

if possible maybe both, but I don't think that the success of ICOs in 2017 can be repeated. considering that the reputation of ICOs is getting worse, it makes most investors lose confidence in them. IEOs on the other hand are not so bad as long as they deliver the best or at least are listed on the top platforms.

It's always happen in crypto industry. You solve a problem then after sometimes another problem will knock you. If i have choose between ICO and IEO then i will obviously choose IEO. But that not means there are no risk in IEO. If you choose low quality IEO platform and not promising project for IEO investment then you might be get loss soon or later. Only that mater is invest on legit projects.

each sales technique has its own advantages and disadvantages, however, we know that it all depends on the person who developed the project. to be honest I like it more and hope IEO will develop even better. I think that the certainty of IEO can be guaranteed is greater than ICO. in terms of long or short use, it depends on how the CEO develops the project.

We can hope that the ICO can run perfectly like in 2017, Likewise IEO we hope all project can launch the launchpad on the top exchange, But you know what tarnishes IEO and ICO is from the project developer side because some developers just want money and money no matter it is detrimental  other parties.

IEOs are less interested because information such as hardcap and softcap is not transparent, many cases that have happened to hardcap the project but the market is reluctant to return the proceeds from sales of the IEO to the project team

For me, I will be choosing ICO, the projects information is out for the public, unlike IEO which doesn't usually provide some information because of they are being handled by exchanges.

ICO  and IEO are both still in use and is jus that recently people prefer to participate in IEO because of guaranteed exchange listings. With the recently success of Uniswap now I can see ICO coming back with full force as long as you are able to build a strong community around your project

i want to go for the era of ico during 2017. I can still remember the hyip of ico those days.the people who blindly invested on projects.and it was miracle, they were in profit in avarage cause most of those project were successful except few.although later ico hyip was get down & scamners start scamming with people and they makes ico system disaster

I have no issue with any form of fund raising for new projects as far as the method of fund raising discourages scams and bad projects while at the same times encourage quality projects and teams to come forward and raise funds so according to this theory i think IEOs are serving the purpose better as compared to other methods.

Scammers or unspeakable or ambitious people are always going to grab new ideas to take advantage of people.

Now recently an new way to raise funds is here called IDO or Initial Decentralized exchange Offering. It refers to raising funds at decentralized platforms like uniswap, bounce finance and trustswap etc. I really like this method as it is according to the decentralized nature of the cryptocurrencies. But i only want some process that will not allow fake or scam projects to raise funds via IDOs.

If i had to choose between these two i prefer ieo' s because there is less scam risks and there is less possibility for the coin to be dumped if its in the right exchange and it will help you decide if the project is a good one to invest in.

This is an important. Nowadays it is not easy to trust anyone, it becomes difficult to understand if the exchanges in which IEO is launched are involved in a bad project. A lot of ieo has come in the market at the moment, it remains to be seen how many of these projects have actually been developed with people's money. If we check, we will find a few projects that are doing development, and the rest are asleep. The crypto community should look for good projects and support those projects.

In the past year I must choose ICO you why many project that has been totally succeed and I earn enough participating some project it have and a lot of potential coins shown up with a high price but until many days has come some people doing some ICO project to doing scam from investor so that's why the ICO project has have a bad record on that time. The question is when they return, if ICO would return in a different way, the better ICO then I guess ICO would still be better.

IEO is no doubt better than IEO due to the fact that it's done in exchanges where exchanges doing their part to evaluate the IEO project they'll accept, so the risk is lesser but the market is already big, more projects are always welcome so we can choose a quality projects, which some projects although quality failed to succeed since they lack budget to get listed in big exchanges.

Yes, they don't need to return because up until now, there are still projects holding these types of crowdsourcing, IEO/ICO. If you also look here in the forum, in the ANN/Tokens boards, you will see that a lot are still doing their ICO/IEO to raise funds. But only few of them can actually raise enough funds as most investors were already burned by so many crap projects. So they don't need to return, because they are still existing.  :P

To be frank i do not want to see any of these to return like the way it did, i was happy to see the initial stages and i was rooting for them but the difficulties in controlling the scams and the ability to push the projects that were good and died off eventually because none of them progressed and the investors lost the money while the developers kept the money. If there is a strict regulation to monitor these then it would be great.

ICO and IEO, there is no far difference the both of them. If they are good to be true, if they are consistent with what they have said, both of them are welcome to turn back IMO. But that is something different as their past show up had already marked failure and negative which people aren't confident to trust them back and put their money on.

I know that some good ICO and IEO left around but what the others do to the crypto space is feeds people's mindset to think and approach differently when we are talking about them.

I think both of them have very far differences and of course IEOs can be better than ICOs because by working together from several trusted exchanges it will make IEOs successful and can sell out quickly, after that they can enter the exchange so immediately there is interaction between buyers and sellers at the exchange and can have high trading volume, this very fast process is preferred by investors than using ICO method which has too long process.

I am one of the people who felt the profit from ICO when the trend was in 2017, but in the end there were too many scams on the ICO project.
And there is a trend of IEOs that are safer than ICOs, but in 2020 IEOs are starting to be less attractive, because DeFi projects are much more
profitable. So it's not a good idea to make ICOs and IEOs back again. There will always be new trends emerging in the cryptocurrency world,
we just need to move on to the latest trends to survive in the cryptocurrency world.

There is no safe way in cryptocurrency, you can be scammed in all ways, but we can reduce the risky by choosing the top coin. Deciding to invest in ICO or IEO is your choice but you should prepare yourself

one thing that must fullfilled were safety and profit probability, in which scheme this condition will meet. in ICO i am still affraid if this project will be scamm and we loss our money here, although its not all project but previous accident must be experienced for us.look at binance launchpad , this is be most profitable place to invest our money in IEO. all IEO there gain profit when traded in exchange.

No matter what kind of crowdfunding a project use whether it is an ICO, IPO, ITO or IEO, investors should do their diligent research towards the project, project creator, administrators and their capabilities.  No matter how successful the funding is if the people behind the project is not capable, it will always turn into a failure worst an exit scam.

It doesn't matter which one we would like to return again, the problem is not the system but the owner who runs this system.

It ruins the investors interest and make people don't want to even try to invest again, if there is a way to actually decrease the scammers population and then this world would be great, but it's nearly impossible to make it real.

I also thought if I should invest in IEO again, because in my opinion IEO are the best way to invest in new cryptocurrency project and of course IEO have many advantages, that is :
1. Investing in IEO is very easy and fast;
2. Coin are definitely listed on exchange without having to wait a long time;
3. Most project from IEO already have a product and that makes it safer to invest in new project.

IEO gave huge return in a very short time period, but ICO on the other side gave a big growth with during the previous bull market. Without doubt I prefer ICO over IEO, because I kept investing over ICO and finally I wasn't able to benefit out of it. So once again I wish those days to come again and profit out of the same. I don't prefer IEO, because I try to invest when it gets launched through different exchanges. Myself used to keep on waiting, and never got an opportunity to buy.

When you have already described the types of projects that took place under various categories, my answer is the same like almost every single loyal user of Bitcointalk will say - we do not need any of them back in our lives. ICOs - total shit ones were pumped up during bull run and then dumped down following btc crash, IEOs - almost the same situation but the difference was that they were being launched at exchanges, Defi - was never worth it as it was already there but it just caught fire because of the heat in the name Defi and those newly added terms which were already there but we were made familiar with these new terms like something new has been added. Defi tokens are (and will be) the biggest failures of all these categories.

We don't need any more new coins. Instead we should be reducing the amount of useless tokens that are out there. If somebody thinks they have a really revolutionary idea then maybe they should work on trying to implement it on an existing cryptocurrency network instead of trying to print money out of thin air. The get rich quick mentality is why most projects fail. Their developers have no motivation left to keep improving their product once they've cashed out and they just move on to the next project with a pre-mined token.

yes that's right, the most important thing is to do your research before investing. but we also have to know that the crowdfunding procedure is also quite important and must be considered, for example, IEO, not all exchanges are able to crowdfund as well as binance launchpad, right? so like that, every aspect is quite important to consider

In fact some of that crowdfunding like ITO, IPO being used by so many scam projects and these kind of crowdfunding have almost 100% scam projects. The only way to do crowdfunding has proven how reliable it is just only ICO and IEO.
That matters a lot consider when IPO has a very bad reputation and almost none of successful project happened from there and people must not choose it as a way to participate or bet on it.
We must see the old history of crypto.

I won't want to go back. Obviously there were a lot of people making a lot of money from IEO, ICO or DeFi and there were also a lot of people who lost money. But i think these are just trends that appear in the market to attract people to it, and what has passed, i think in the future we will have more new trends and this market will day by day grows bigger and is known by many people.

ICO, Though that IEO was once a good form.of crowdfunding but we know that the relatives good number of projects being created by the ICO are several. This means that ICO contributed more on what market has now with cryptocurrency. It is a good form actually of crowdfunding but it just need a little bit of regulation because scammers are abusing it.

ICO, IEO will go back to these projects the market needs to be closely monitored and then determined most of the projects are scammed even if they perform well in the beginning they are not able to rise very high due to lack of sufficient knowledge. This is why research should be done before joining from IEO to ICO the projects are much more risky the demand for these is much higher most traders choose the ICO project to join.

We that every time these new concepts appear, the market grows very strongly, this is the way to attract money from outside to the market. Personally, i have gone through the above concepts, i like IEO because it is the safest compared to other forms, and you know that IEO on binance, okex, huobi, ... all have a very high ROI. As for Defi, i am also a bit disappointed by the exaggeration in the market, I think this is not the real time for DeFi to explode and everything is getting started, please wait for the next time we will see more new ways of attracting money from this market.

I don't want any of these two, these two cause investors to lose a lot of money and they gave the Cryptocurrency a bad reputation because of the many developers running with investor's money, it's better that they create their platform and put their token in the market and promote their trading pair among investors.
 

I dont agree personally I think ICO market will be stagnant like the current condition and there will be some new method to replace ICO. IEO exist to prevent from exit scam or nonexistent coin listing but they are not really effective anymore since people always expect instant money and they failed to deliver that recently. It's actually will always be like this hype first realization later and both of them actually still alive until it's just swept under your radar maybe.

Objectively speaking, I think most people here would say ICO due to it timing when it happened during last bull season and many of them were very successful at least in the short term. IEO are not any different, problem with IEO is that investors don't get all their tokens at one time so many hold back from investing, but in theory there is less chance of dump. Success of the project is not dependent on being ICO or IEO but their vision and how much work they are putting into it.

Let me tell you this, around the time that i just started learning about blockchain, there was a new ICO at that time, i don't know if there were other concepts before to attract people, but i noticed that the early days when the 'trending' came in it was very successful and the ROI was huge, i have seen x100 ICO projects and many people will make a lot. money, or people who have lost money. In general, this process is still going on, it is neither good nor bad for me, it makes this market stronger as it attracts more people to learn about this market.

there is no perfect concept in the space so except that every new concept there will always be new scams but that scams can be controlled just like what ieo did .

there are still ieo but idk why its fame died down so fast when infact ieo is much better than the ico and defi because lesser scams are only being reported , ah i know , maybe because ieo is more controlled and there can be less hype/pump for the coin because of that . you knew them , those investors they want more easier pumps  .

Who told you that whales did not buy in ICOs? Whales will always buy in any project that can make them money. The same way they buy in IEOs is the same way they buy in ICOs. In fact they made buying ICOs very difficult for investors who have few cash to throw around as they took up buying space and make traffic heavy on those sites. Anybody buying ICO is exposing himself to a bigger risk than those on IEO.

The whales participates in all projects as long as they can manipulate the prices of coins. They don't give up their ability to make large sums of money, ICOs or IEOs can't limit them.

As far as I remember, I have never invested in IEOs, only ICOs.
There was also my investment in ICO which ended up being ashes, forgetting exactly how much BTC was turned into ash because investing in ICO.
If I have to choose then I choose ICO, but from experience, if I have to choose I'm prefer to save BTC,ETH and a couple Altcoin better than invest in ICOs.

what I like is IEO especially if the IEO is implemented in binance because usually the IEO there has a good price and can give me short-term profit

ICO because the great success of Ethereum derives from this great event and market adhesion and it is worth remembering that most of the projects found at Binance are ICOs and in relation to the topic we can consider ICO as an IPO in the real life of shares of large companies and the level of collection was huge. However, ICO, IEO, DeFi are just a marketing style to bring investors to an initial project that has potential. However, the vast majority does not leave the paper and remains only in illusion.

Well if I gotta choose I'll go with ICO simply because there's a lot of good ICOs way back then they are a truly worthy investment. I'm not saying that IEO isn't that good but take a look at the difference, ICO runs a lot longer than IEO. In fact, if ICO doesn't get infiltrated by scammers pretty sure that this will bring more investment and that could cause hype in the crypto industry. Thought the good sides of IEO is that you don't need to wait for the coin to be get listed on exchanges, unlike ICO and that is what I like about IEO.

I want to go back to ICOs because it's more popular and good for everyone to participate in them. We do not need to hold a large number of exchange tokens like IEOs. It can be said that ICOs are more equal and have more positive effects. The problem is that going back to an ICO is unlikely to skyrocket when people are smart enough to stay away from poor quality projects.

You have already explained that both ICO and IEO have the same potential to be a scam/useless.  I feel safer when joining (investment or bounty programs) in the IEO, although in the end the IEO tokens/coins are likely to be useless but the losses can be much less than the ICO..

If I have to choose between an ICO and an IEO, of course I would prefer to invest in an IEO, because the risk of fraud on an IEO project is smaller than what happens in an ICO, because obviously IEOs are managed by crypto exchanges on behalf of projects that seek to raise funds with tokens that are just released the project. Because the token sale is carried out on an exchange platform, of course the crypto project must pay the IEO fee so that in this case of course the exchange will not be careless in collaborating with a crypto project that is indicated as a scam because this will certainly damage the reputation of the exchange later, even though IEO can be a fraud, but I don't think the risk is as big as that of an ICO project.

Perhaps it is the ICO that is easier and more accessible for the developers themselves to implement their project, since IEO is accompanied by a lot of difficulties. But nevertheless, if IEO is implemented on a rating cryptocurrency exchange, such as binance, then there are still great chances that the project will indeed have further development and will not turn out to be a fraud.

The simplest and most convenient fundraising for the development of a new project and the release of tokens is ICO.  No matter what new forms of fundraising they come up with, fraudsters will find their way to them and cheating gullible investors will still happen.  The situation can be saved only by the state organizational regulation of this type of activity.  If government authorities verify and register the ICO team, then fraud will practically disappear.

each methode has its own benefits, especially IEO because investors didn't have to wait for long time to trade their token

It is true as you say, even if IEOs are not spared the possibility of fraud, of course it can be easier for us to avoid by investing / buying crypto in a trusted, the big market markets such as Binance, bittrex and other large markets because of course Large market markets will not help scammers to commit fraud so that it can damage their reputation. I would also vote for IEOs because i trust them more because each project is properly checked for quality and all aspects are assesed before listing on a launchpad especially at the top platforms which makes decision making easy for investors because the reputation of the IEO platform is also at stake so they will make sure no fake project ever raise funds on their platform that is why mostly good projects are listed on top 5 IEO platforms only.

Both has risk of possible scam but if I want one of them to return then I think its IEO. You can choose where exchanges to buy and its advisable that only choose a reputed exchange to have less chance of losing your money. But still its not assurance of getting profit, its just a tip to somehow avoid ending up in scam. Well, both have advantages and disadvantages. ICOs can be profitable if the project is truly legitimate, but we have to do in-depth research so we don't get caught in a scam. Meanwhile, joining an IEO, let alone one handled by a trusted exchange, will provide a sense of security for investors, a greater level of trust, but it is very difficult to join because there are many participants and limited allocations. everything requires strategy and we have to adapt.

IEOs are not as bad as ICOs, IEOs that are already listed on the top platforms are still running and are still an alternative investment. I love to see ICO come back, I dont think IEO has gone and will be leaving soon, it only depend on the exchange. Virtually all IEO on binance, gate and Huobi had been successful. They might have dumped at a time after listing but they still achieved the size of fund they demanded, they also get a great community to support the project because of the trust on the exchange and ability to get listed on exchange and be traded soon. I am one of those who enjoy huge profits when the ICO hype, I really want this to happen again. It is true that current ICOs are no longer feasible,

We shouldn't bother about us, because many ICO companies raised funds by showing fake designs and false promises to the investors and this makes they are kept dumping them in the market. Of course, many good projects launched through ICO, but the majority of the ICO's cheated both the investors and bounty investors without payments.

ICO is the hope of many people  ICOs who can make a profit because there are rarely more who actually have a high selling value in the exchange. profit and that's definitely only 2-3 current projects like the ICO that was waiting for much big profit in 2017 which made investors get so much profit, but now it's far from what is made in the current project, it's really not sure there's a lot of loss and risk.

The success of ICO in 2017 brings more failures to most investors, let's do the math, if only 10% of the ICO are legit, the 90% are scams and there are a lot of hype during 2017 and early 2018, which means people have invested heavily on altcoins and ICOs.

ICO is more risky than IEO in two ways

1. Even if the new ICO project have a good use case you can never tell if the project is really here to stay or the team have another agenda in plan but it's different with IEO, that's if you choose your IEO projects through top exchanges, binance for example do all they can to make sure the new project is really here to stay, they have reputations to protect too so you aren't the only one doing research


2. ICO projects can dump and raising funds and trading begins on exchanges, it's a big different experience from IEO, though IEO from binance dumps later but one thing is certain here, no instant dumps and investors makes good ROI starting from 2x to 8x

Right now ICO idea is doing better than IEO. Because with the Defi hype, investors are gambling most, sometimes they earning good and sometimes they are falling in the scam. But the overall profit is there. I don't see much hype in Binance IEO anymore, rather some food coin came and grab the whole market's attention. So, in the end, the ICO idea will come back and work well.

I remember how much people earned in 2017-2018 investing in fake projects and how this fake got listed immediately. Since I’ve started doing this, when I am a newbie ICO is the best. Most especially wayback 2017 ICO is much much great than today. There a lot of scams today. I want the ICO when it is started before 2017 if I am not mistaken. I knew there are a lot of members in the forum got earned a lot in this business industry of cryptocurrency. Although, IEO became only good in the beginning but not take so long, unlike ICO. But of course, this was just my assessment I don't know to others here.

I believe that the difference between the ico that is taking place today and in 2017, first of all, is that investors and other users of cryptocurrency treat their investments differently. Today, the rewards for Bounty hunters have become much less, and investors have begun to study investment projects much more carefully, and also have begun to show more distrust in any new project on the cryptocurrency market. Projects are very poorly developed and achieve success only in a single case. And definitely we will never be able to repeat the period of 2017.

IEO seems better, I think we don't need ICO anymore. With IEO, at least we know where the token/coin be listed after initial sale. But ICO mostly has no plan for listing on an exchange first in the early stage. Even after ICO completed, the team still don't announce where to list the token/coin. This makes scammers too easy to scam people.

I would say I would prefer IEO to return more than ICO because in IEO world you at least knew that your coin would be listed on an exchange, good or bad, low volume or high volume whatever there could be problematic about it, at least we knew that it would be listed on an exchange and that is something quite important.

IEO is more transparent than ICO.  Top exchange like Binance scrutinize any project looking to launch lauchpad IEO on Binance so investor don't feel afraid to invest in IEO.  ICO is dead, it is rare to have a successful project on ICO this year because ICO has been left behind and now IEO has become the choice of the big whales.

I'm not sure with that because if we say that IEO has that potential and whales are investing in them we are supposed to see the market surging high and have some hypes but there's nothing. AFAIK, once the tokens are listed on an exchange, we cannot control the price. It will fully depend on the demand in the market. If the project is good and the team has quality to improve the project, then the price can survive and grow. While if the project development seems not as expected, the investors will dump the price suddenly.

ICO and IEO are their advantages when analyzing the features of the subject. But in my opinion, the IEO is a better system than the ICO. This is because investing a big amount in ICOs would have resulted in a higher bonus, which would have resulted in relatively small investors losing money in exchange for those coins. I sincerely think IDO has taken over IEO and ICO for good, although this carries a lot of risk because of many anonymous team and many rug pulling. Do you really think that initial offering through DEX can be trusted more than a centralized initial offering. This is the first time i am hearing this argument, the risk is really high for these and you cannot expect anything to be fair simply because of the nature of the platform you are talking about.

IEO is the one that supplanted the ICO so it implies IEO is far superior than ICO and will always be preferable as long as the project does their IEO on a good and high level exchange like Binance, there are a great deal fo effective IEO than ICO, it is because of the formation of IEO that spares investors of million-dollar worth of investment from ICO made by scammers.

There is only one reason I like about ICOs and IEOs, their signature campaigns ;D. But kidding aside, I actually don't want both of them to return anymore because I know that many investors will get scammed once again. You have a point about new projects listing direct on uniswap and that won't cost them a penny but I just find projects that goes to high exchanges more serious and safer, Uniswap is now an unsafe place for people who aren't aware of many scam projects getting their tokens listed on the DEX because it cost them nothing, most tokens are been cloned on uniswap, one have to thread careful or end up buying a scam token

I dont prefer wether its Ico/Ieo the most important thing I always see is the team and about the utility of each coins they are creating if its really valuable and new to crypto unique usecase then is worth to invest.

I have also been involved in both of these fundraising strategies in the crypto market, generally at a time when the investment style will bring different returns, but i think the IEO will be more attractive because IEO on Binance, Okex, Houbi,... still very successful good projects, but i find that if i have a bit of time to look for new projects and join the whitelist, i think it is also a way successful investment is in the market.

Indeed, Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) is more than safe rather than ICO. I prefer to choose IEO as well to choose new project to store my money. I don't have much information about ICO actually, because I came across to crypto currency is 2017 ago when ICO was booming but I don't know much about. Just see many people here who stated that they got a lot of money and also many people talk how they been scammed by a project until the ICO event is no longer in demand.

And after that, IEO has came with one purpose to facilitate the investor to invest in new project savely. Indeed it works, there is only few information who stated that the investor was scammed by this way because they choose new exchange who don't have a good reputation. I think IEO is more trustworthy than ICO. IEO is preferred by investors and bounty hunters. Investors in ICOs have to invest in the project's own website. The chances of being scammed are much higher here. In IEO, investors have to invest in one of the crypto exchanges. There is less chance of being scammed here. Do they really take full responsibility? I think when a big exchange accept and IEO, they will demand a fee from the project but they are not in control of the project, so if it will be scam afterwards, a big exchange cannot undo that, but of course we can always take legal action as a big exchange will always ensure they will get the information of the teams who compose the project.

Sometimes, I think big exchange do hype a certain project, so we can't just easily trust and blindly invest on a certain IEO because it's listed in big exchanges.

Ieos are still in good shape for now. And I am happy with the ieos. I know the ico format was very popular in 2017-2018. For for some reasons people started to avoid it. The main reasons behind falure of icos are full of scamming, most of the projects leave in mid way, and lots of money stole by many icos. So people stopped investing in icos. See, some people agrees with me that we don't really need them any longer. 2017 was speculated that the all time high was due to the ICOs but when the IEOs came, we don't even see an effect of it to the market.

As said in the past post, they are in all seasons. Without or with these projects, scammers are hunting the newbies or people who are not thinking of the scheme of the project.
They choose to scam people and run as planned until someone notices them. Projects that ends badly, it's not problem but it's also part of their expectation that there really are projects that have little to no chance of success.

Even though the IEO looks quite safe, we still have to do some research before investing in a project, because indeed in investing in an IEO project, of course the possibility of fraud is still there, although not as big as the possibility of an ICO project, currently the IEO is being held in a large market it may be a little safer than an IEO in a new market because indeed a large market like Binance implements quite strict requirements for a project that collaborate with they.

I believe if we compare the total of legit IEOs to the total number of IEOs, the result is still not attractive. ICOs were profitable many people gaining profits that time but sadly the scam projects were increasing and this starts of ruining the image of ICO even the legitimate projects were also affected and failed.

I would like the return of standard ICO projects, although the gas wars in them greatly strained! The IEO format showed itself poorly, although it is more reliable than ICO, because tokens are immediately listed on the exchange. There is no such risk as ICO (remember, the same blockcollider, in which money was invested 3 years ago and the tokens are still blocked. They promise on January 28, unlock, but I don't know how much they can be trusted). ICO forever!

both, I want ICO and IEO back in popularity. because the more ways to raise initial funds, the better for the crypto community. there will be many options and this will increase the competition. plus now there is a new method called IDO. those who like decentralization and don't like KYC will use IDO, the rest will use ICO and IEO.

I am one of those who felt that many ICO projects were successful and provided many benefits, actually when I remember that I want to go back
to where ICOs are profitable. But we all have to accept the fact that it is impossible for ICO projects to become a trend again. Because every year
a new trend appears, but for now DeFi projects are still a trend.

Even though now many DeFi projects are scam, but it is proven that new DeFi projects are still emerging. This means that there are still no other
trends that are more interesting than DeFi. I believe DeFi will make a comeback this year. Because if we see some old DeFi tokens starting to go up
in price, it indicates that DeFi is back in demand.

I want ico like before, like my first entry on this forum. The project runs for 3-4 months with a clear whitepaper, road map, hard cap and soft cap that is also honest, exchange rates and market exchange are also good (average in etherdelta or forkdhelta), then distribution is never late. listing to the market exchange which is also not late and does not change drastically from the exchange rate at the beginning of the ICO bounty. i really like that period.

IEO is preferable, if anything at all. ICO is a total fraud! ICO was the reason I vowed not to ever buy an unlisted token again. Ever! I lost a pile of cash investing in ICOs from 2017 to 2018, some of those losses I still regret till date. If only exchanges will be sanitized and monitored, I will like for IEO to return and any exchange found culpable of manipulation or in connivance with fraudulent projects/tokens sanctioned. At least this will help restore battered confidence of investors.

I would prefer ICO because there is no limitation for the investors (Anyone can invest in the Project), When it comes to IEO their are more restriction. Many people won't easily trust to invest in a ICO projects, Because their are more ICO Scams. But if we research & investigate more, then we can invest in ICO.

The term changes over time and ICO is never used today but most of the projects today just call it private sale and public sale. Although its almost the same thing, the kind of scam is already accepted like when you send ETH or BTC, you already know that there is a chance that your money is gone. You'd just be lucky if it returns back in the form of another token and you can also take profit. Today the market is going great without ICO, we are going to get there anyhow.

I think whether be it ICO or IEO depends on the quality of the project and the team behind the project, a genuine and professional team can still run an ICO and be able to raise a great project/company from whatever is raised in the ICO, though I believe that alot of scams happen in ICOs but a proper research and background check of the team involved in the project should be able to tell us if a project is going to be a scam or genuine one, there are still some legit guys out there who might not have the resources required for running a successful IEO and will opt for ICO, does it mean they won't get support from the community?

You should not think about the past, but plan your future. If all these projects are a thing of the past, why bring up such topics. In my opinion, now there are many worthy products that are worth our attention and that can fulfill our needs. DeFi for example: if you search well, you can find great options for investment.  8)

IEO is still possible to return. For ICO I think investors are smart where the risk is high when investing in ICO. There is no institution that supervises making everyone freely able to make ICO with a fictitious project. this is an offense. For IEO why do I say maybe back? I would like to go for IEO tokensake system than ICOs that is due to, at the tokensale priod of ico, people were totally unaware about when the token would be listed & available for buy sell on exchange.but with ico tokensale priod, it isn't  fair to get easily scammed by company but people can buy good projects during ieo time.if people satisfy with exchanges of tokens listed as well as daily trading volume, then can buy the token. otherwise free to avoid without feeling any hegitasion

ICO have a good place in my heart, because i have a sweet memories with ICO
but, if talk about what kind of crowdfunding methode that will return again, i think its hard to be true, because there is a new way born such as IDO
and in this dex era IDO become a better choice rather than ICO or IEO

Ico days were great days. In those days we saw some projects gave huge return to investors. Even small investors made big profits.
Big exchange listing was also easy in those days.
Now most projects get listed on B grade exchanges even if they raise millions of dollars.

The awful experience that it carried back with these two projects, makes them not to like it but rather very much wanted to have another one which it gives confirmation.
Not ICO or even IEO will make please to individuals, if that one of them might want to get back, better not to happen on the grounds that presumably the assumption will not make good and appreciated.

you are right, ICO and IEO have their respective advantages. ICOs have triumphed in their time. IEOs were once a savior of markets and investors in their own time. both have systems that I think still need to be developed to avoid today's smarter scammers.

IEO projects are still having lots of response but the problem is we have less IEO projects this days, most new projects are now moving into polkastarter for fundraising, it's been a long time now that I've seen any project using binance launchpad, ICO is not even popular anymore and most projects don't use ICO anymore

Apart from a trusted exchange, if we follow the ICO we will get losses. So it is true that now what we have to know is that we have to be smart in choosing ICOs. Don't get wrong in the selection. Binance's Ticket system requires everyone to hold large amounts of Bnb to buy. unfortunately with this system for investors who do not have large amounts of money it may be unlikely that they will be able to follow

Recently I saw one of the best ICO, Student coin was launching from the beginning of the FEB. But first, we want to see some ICO s are growing like earlier.

It takes time before people will trust the ICO platform again, but with a lot of platform being offered, more secure, then I guess ICO will not bring back its glory days if ever it will come back again. We are already in altcoin season, but we are not still see numbers of successful project from ICO, I think that would already say something on the future of ICO.

That's right, and studentcoin is also an ICO that has been successful this year even though in general studentcoin is an old token that has been circulating in the crypto space, only the studentcoin team made a new ICO in two rounds this year in order to achieve even more maximum success.

So probably this year after their ICO which I think will end this month, they might start implementing their plans already. Great job for this team, they never gave up despite of the bear market in the past, so I think I'll follow this project as well and see how they'll perform after their ICO.

We know ICO is quite good in the past, but nowadays it doesn't really work well anymore. The big problem we face now is the investors no longer interested in ICO, they prefer choosing IEO. So, a new project will have difficulties getting funds from ICO since less interest from people. Now, they only want to buy coins if the team provides IEO on familiar exchanges. I think many people are traumatized by tons of scam coins from ICOs in the past.

Over time, new trends are emerging in the crypto market.  People no longer trust the once popular ICO. IEO is more trustworthy than ICO. But now the most popular is IDO (Initial DeFi Offering). Since it is a decentralized system, it has less possibility to be a scam.

The ICO looks fairer to everyone, but the downside is that GAS WAR does it on Ethereum.
I want to participate in the ICO with a platform that gives users first-come-first-served tokens (fcfs) instead of gas war today. We need a more robust, high-speed, low-cost, and fairer blockchain platform to realize the above idea.
