I do not know what to say about this because the government is involved and as you said state police also. You can use VPN to at the very least mask your identity, or use a fully configurated virtual machine and then there you will start using VPN. The most difficult part in this is masking your real location. You can't explain it to them cause as you already know that the authorities as you see is behind the crackdown.

How can i use it? And I want to explain that bitcoin is not bad for me.
I will first advice you not to make use of any custodial service because such services will not give you any private key and if you have problem with them you may end up losing your bitcoin, you will have to make use of noncustodial wallet. You will need to look for people that are ready to buy and sell bitcoin. There will be people in your country that still do sell bitcoin, you can make use of decentralized exchanges that accepts p2p or buy p2p through legit platforms like mycelium local trader. But, be very careful not to fall into scammers tactics because there will be people that will want to scam you.

But to be on the safer side, just do not use bitcoin if your governments are criminalising people that are using it.

How can i successfully explain?
You mean how you can explain bitcoin to someone? You will need to read about that online. Bitcoin is a deflationary currency that was created in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto, it is an asset because it has a limited supply which will push its price higher over long term as people are also buying it.

You can't explain. Just don't get caught. If your country deems Bitcoin to be illegal and you still use it, you're doing it at your own peril and no amount of explanation is going to convince them that they shouldn't prosecute you for using Bitcoin.

I, for one would immediately set up a Tor browser and route all my traffic through it. At the very least, they cannot link the stuff that I do with Bitcoin to my real life identity. Concealing your identity would be the top priority and you would probably be better off trying out decentralised and P2P exchanges.

I don't think banning Bitcoin is effective nor reasonable. But as always, do things at your own risks; there's always a chance that you'll be caught.

Sorry mate, there's no explanation that you can give to the government for them to accept or allow you to use bitcoin. They know that it isn't bad but they don't want it because if everyone begins to use it, they will be sidelined. Also, I don't think it's OK for you to continue using Bitcoin at this moment. Like you said, you'll be punished if caught. Tho I know it may be hard for them to know you use it, I suggest you back down, so you don't attract trouble for yourself.

There are 3 options for you:

1. You either use it and don't get caught by the authorities (there are ways to hide your usage or identity in the internet nowadays)

2. Stop using Bitcoin (not recommended if you really like using Bitcoin instead of the traditional fiat)

3. Go to another country that accepts Bitcoin (Philippines is one of the example that is very open to cryptocurrency or Bitcoin)

There you go. You don't need to explain things because they won't listen to you anyway.

I am curious on how the government will know we are using Bitcoin?
On our Internet providers? Since if you will don't tell anybody you are using Bitcoin or own some, I think there is no way that they will know you are using Bitcoin. This is one of the best things I love in Bitcoin, a freedom indeed.

Thee is no amount of how you can hide your identity that can be better when you are caught if your government is not approving it. It will be better you resign the use of bitcoin to fate, is unfortunate , until your government take an approving the use. The consequences of being caught will be worse than letting it go.

You can learn other businesses to be safe from your government decision in making the use of bitcoin a crime. You can check on any online business here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5292199.msg55656620#msg55656620)

Another advise is that you can leave from your country and go to another country that accept and use bitcoin.

in my country there is a different situation. despite bitcoin has been ignored by regulators and most of people, now they are enough famous and it's not rare finding some news also in general press.

I have joined meanwhile several bitcoin meetup in Italian cities (Milano Roma), and joined the local Bitcoin Foundation.
Actively proposed also a couple of work bitcoin related with famous press and some consultancies (even free).
You can take inspiration by these actions and trying to find what is suitable for you and your current situation. I think that probably in your country it can be generally a "freedom"problem, since it's not common get problem with police just by "using" bitcoin.... (just as comparison since some months in Italy there is also a bank that allow directly to buy/sell/store bitcoin!)

How can i use it?

You need to avoid centralized exchanges, you need to use mixing and maintain your anonymity to the highest levels, because any party that you deal with in your country could be an undercover police officer.

How can i successfully explain?

Vote for politicians that promise to decriminalize Bitcoin, support such politicians on social media, etc. This is the most realistic thing that you can do.

Quite unfortunate that your country is one of the very few countries that are banning Bitcoin in their country or should I say not allowing their countrymen to use Bitcoin.

Using Tor Browser is probably the best thing that you can do in order for you to have access to Bitcoin without getting caught by the authorities. Using VPN's would help you too. There are many ways to have access into it. If you really want to have access on it without restrictions, move to another country :D. Worst way is that you will not use it at all.

Just do everything that will make you anonymous and will not leave any traces then you're still good to use Bitcoin even it is banned or aren't accepting in your country.

So, what country do you live in.

Honestly, many countries do not accept Bitcoin legally, but they are not punished what else in prison, I think the information you get is, Hoax.

I think that in your country you are not the only one using Bitcoin, hundreds maybe thousands of people use it, if you say, the government in your country has to make the prison three times the size of other countries, not fit everyone who uses bitcoin caught and if the rules in your country like that.

You are looking for more accurate information on Bitcoin users in your country, are they OK, or have they been punished, I don't think so, that's a hoax.

I think you should give your government time to learn and understand how bitcoin works. I wonder how the government or police can catch people who use bitcoin or altcoin for their own reason. You can use bitcoin in trading, buying something using bitcoin as the payment, but you don't have to tell other people that you have bitcoin because that can make them suspicious and will ask you about that.

It is hard to explain bitcoin to them, especially if they don't want to accept a new thing because that can be a debate that will not end. You will explain to them if they want, but don't force them to follow what you want because they are free to use bitcoin or not use bitcoin. We can let them decide to use it or still prefer the current payment that they use.

So using bitcoin is illegal in your country. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it even if you "like bitcoin". If you use it, you will be breaking the law and risk yourself of getting prosecuted. Even if you still do, make sure you don't convert it to fiat or link yourself in anyway. You will have to use P2P platforms to even by bitcoin.
Lol, they don't care if bitcoin is bad for you or not. I guess they think bitcoin is bad for "them", hence they banned the usage.

There is no way you can explain it if you are just an average person in your country.
But, if you know someone in a good position in your government then maybe you could pass a suggestion.
You will still need to find out if he is also a cryptocurrency supporter especially Bitcoin.

For now, what you could do is keep it in a non-custodial wallet.
But the ways to buy Bitcoin will also be difficult.

Are you from Bangladesh? it is the country that I know that has this rule for knowing people that use bitcoin in their country. But AFAIK, the exchanges have opened accounts and trades for the country and that confuses me if the ban is lifted or it's still in effect but with some revisions or minor changes.

Depending on how strict and considerate your government is when it talks about bitcoin.

Some governments are really strict and they punished all those people who will break the law.

They just want to minimize the existence of criminals and scammers in the market so that this bitcoin will not harm their citizens. But it still depends on you on how eager you are in investing on bitcoin. Most of the thing that is difficult to do in a country that do not accept bitcoin is trading and making transactions with it.

Government will not imposed restrictions if it is not necessary, maybe because it can be used to finance terrorism, money laundering, purchased of fire arms in online web or all of the above.

Many government banned bitcoin in their State however they are not imposing penalties or imprisonment because an individual used it. If this is the case in your country then perhaps bitcoin is used against your government, be it against their laws, policies, regulations or interest. Anyways bitcoin is decentralized and that makes it invulnerable from your country, just dont exposed yourself having or doing transaction that involved bitcoin.

Yes, if Bitcoin is banned wherever you reside then there are problems with Bitcoin transactions. Because central banks don't support Bitcoin that's why you cannot use Bitcoin as a currency. If you would like to use it you got to catch it. repeatedly can legally suffer severe punishment. Governments don't accept bitcoin because they can't control digital resources the govt didn't get any commission thanks to which the govt issued a ban on accepting bitcoin.

It's sad that not all countries accept Bitcoin, that is the fact that is happening right now. So I feel very fortunate that my country
didn't ban Bitcoin, it's just that in my country Bitcoin is accepted only as a digital asset. I can't use it for payment, I sympathize
with the members of this forum who come from countries that prohibit Bitcoin. Don't give up on countries whose have  not accepted
Bitcoin, because I believe government policies can change.

If you are from a country that prohibits the use of Bitcoin, but still wants to use Bitcoin. There are several ways that can be used,
among others, using a VPN to access exchanges, being able to buy Bitcoin on P2P platforms, can ask our friends who are abroad
to buy Bitcoin and can use decentralized exchanges.

No matter how hard you explain it to them, if you don't show them how it works then that's a problem.

It is easy to say that bitcoin is good, bitcoin is profitable, bitcoin is a digital currency, that's not enough to convince a whole government to understand you.

It is better if you will do a research first if the country where you are living do accept bitcoin before you engage to it. It is really hard to adjust in a country who don't allow and believe on the potential or use of bitcoin in the economy. It is better to be safe than to be caught by the authorities because that's much harder to deal with.

But good thing that Philippines is a very crypto friendly country, especially that they’re being backed by the Philippine Central Bank (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas or BSP in short).

I can say that Bitcoin is good because living in a country with inflation is sad. Although the situation is not the same in other countries, Bitcoin is able to alleviate this situation and empower people to have a better future.
The solution for countries that do not accept Bitcoin is for citizens to elect their rulers who support new technologies and innovation.

Which country you are residing, even if your country banned the use of cryptocurrencies how are they able to identify the transactions and how can they be able to track them back to you, it is impossible to track if you are dealing with exchanges far from your jurisdiction and they will not reveal your identify until you are involved in something illegal and hence Until you do something illegal there is no way you will be caught if you are dealing with P2P exchanges and what all exchanges you can use safely depends on the country you are residing.

Thats very unfortunate that your own government thinking is backward, I believe cryptocurrency is the future so why they dont just support it. By the way, you didn't mention your country of origin if your country is sophisticated then it will be more dangerous for you to get caught if you are continued using Bitcoin, But if you are from Southeast Asia many member states that have a friendlier approach to the crypto industry Singapore, The Philippines I think Thailand and Indonesia are good too so hold on and believe that someday they will be no more restriction of using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Actually there are government which accepts this technology and governments which are still opposing the adoption. One main reason I think is decentralization. This has been discussed many times in this forum to why there are still countries wherein cryptos are not being widely used. Decentralization simply means transactions won't be taxed unlike in fiat currencies or fiat based digital currencies. But I think regularisation is already in progress through the use of third party networks accepting cryptos as a mode of payment. In such way, taxes will be impose to transactions which will encourage other countries to adopt this technology as well.

First of all, you don't use and explain an illegal thing to government authorities. That doesn't excuse you from getting arrested and penalized. Perhaps you should join Bitcoin advocacy or lobby groups to try to enlighten and educate people and lawmakers about the good things that Bitcoin brings to them.

If internet is present and sites are generally unrestricted in your country then you can use Bitcoin.

I don't know from which country you are. But there is solution for each problem, first you should see how they blocked and suspended bitcoin in your country.
Sometimes they just filter the bitcoin related websites and you can easily bypass it by using VPNs. However, you will be need to careful here because, when the government banned bitcoin they will try to trace the bitcoin transactions. In this case you will need to use Tails OS + VPN+ TOR network and use the mixers to clean your bitcoins, otherwise they can find you give you a punishment.
Note: Even by using all the methods I said there is still a chance for them to trace your transactions, so you will need be careful and never think they can't trance you because of using these methods.

It's kind of risky to use bitcoin in countries where the government is against it, and in your case the government is now working with the police to jail people who make use of bitcoin, if the government is working with the telecom service to track down offenders, then i think your best chance of staying off the grid is to try using some paid VPNs or you can just make use of TOR browser to hide your ass, personally I think TOR browser will be your best chance to stay anonymous on the internet, so you won't get caught or persecuted.

I've always seen a topic regarding their government that doesn't accept bitcoin, well that is normal because bitcoin is decentralized and it could be dangerous for the centralized system, cryptocurrency doesn't need an acceptance of the government. It would be dangerous for you because government can track you when you are going to use cryptocurrency but actually you may use VPN to hide your identity but that isn't enough because your location is still traceable.
If I were in this guy’s shoes, I would migrate to another country and denounce my original citizenship and change my nationality in order to own and trade Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies without worrying about getting arrested for doing that as long it’s in a legit way.

You can’t explain anything to your country’s government, it’s not your job to do that, doing it will even expose you as someone that is making use of an asset that has been declared illegal in the country. If you want to make use of cryptocurrency, just make use of it privately, it shouldn’t be something anyone should know about unless you’re trading it P2P.

No one will know that you’re making use of cryptocurrency unless you in some ways make it known to them, even if you store in a wallet in your smartphone, no one knows, it’s none of their business, or you can store in your computer that you keep at home and store your private keys safely.

I think if you use bitcoin not as for transaction your government will allow as bitcoin for investing assets not using for transaction. but if any exchange local have banned in your country you can looking other way like convert your bitcoin to be other legal currency like paypal, perfect money or you can convert to payza depend which one currency support in your country and you can cash out bitcoin thorough above currency digital.

In fact, adopting new technology and ensuring its proper use is a difficult task. Governments in most countries lack the necessary planning and direction to implement Bitcoin technology and ensure its proper use. While there are many benefits to using Bitcoin, there are also some negative aspects to using it that seem a bit of a hassle for the supervising government. Governments in most countries do not have the experience or expertise to control its use in various activities, including taxation, proper accounting of assets, and financing of various criminal activities. However, as the demand of the people of the country and the popularity of Bitcoin use increase, the government will start thinking about it and decide to adopt it in the future.

So you are in the part of countries where bitcoin and other crypto currencies are banned, if I were you it will be good if you will just follow the law of your country if you don't want to experience any problem as what you have said anyone that will be caught using bitcoin will receive a punishment.

If you like bitcoin then you should focus on learning first if what is bitcoin and what are it's usage and also it's advantages and disadvantages. Then you should wait for the time that your country will lift the ban in using crypto currencies before you will try using and owning bitcoin.

Once a certain thing is banned in your country, believe me or not you can't use it. If you want bitcoin to be used legally then flying over a country that is crypto-friendly. I don't know where you came from but I am sure that you are a fan of bitcoin. Government does not want bitcoin legally control their country. They just saying that it may harm ud citizens because of possible volatility and high scamming rates but they jusr don't want it. Since bitcoin is decentralised and in future, all of their transactions might be recorded in blockchain technology. Corruption and graft may be eradicated when bitcoin becomes the currency of all states and nation.

depending on the essence of a country, that the state has an obligation to protect its citizens from losses, in the midst of the rise of bitcoin a country will inevitably arise a million doubts about this digital currency both in terms of security and use.
I cannot predict whether one day bitcoin will be accepted by all countries as a legal transaction. The uncontrolled nature of bitcoin can cause huge losses to the country so that it is doubtful to accept it. In my country, it is regulated under consumer protection laws. Although my country does not legalize bitcoin / other crypto as a means of payment, it is legal as a commodity. My country also has web exchange and this is under state supervision.

So you not going to even mention which country this is in? What a stupid goverment. I would use crypto even more if it was illegal. If they want to be stupid and tell me I can't do something then of course I am going to do it. It just makes me want to do it, even more, to stand up to tyranny.

Love how governments make a deal about crypto when people are being raped, beaten, and murdered. But sure let's focus on crypto. Because we only care about money.

Also, why would you pay tax to a country that can't even protect you? I refer to some instances in the USA were criminals who have killed people get off lightly. So you pay tens of thousands of $$ of tax and they can't even protect you.

When the government decides to not be corrupt then I'll listen to them. It's hard to respect curruption. They should lead by example.

Haha does your government have a Facebook page or something?

Leave them a note "I use crypto come at me bro" lol

Thats horrible, which country you are talking about because now Bitcoin restrictions on Bitcoin has been relaxed in most of the countries, I would advice you to use a trusted VPN to avoid your government from tracking you but it's really sad to see how some governement are behind Bitcoin and harassing their own tax payers. Using VPN might not give you immunity from government's crackdown hence if you really wanna use Bitcoin or crypto and fully committed then shift your base to a crypto friendly nations like Malta or Estonia.

Let's say I live in OP's country use Bitcoin to trade online on an exchange not located in my country, using a different fiat currency or a stablecoin? How is the government going to know about it? I guess they won't.

So if I had a restriction like that I would not care. There are so many laws that people break every day like jaywalking or not stopping at a stop sign. Rules are meant to be broken especially if they're making your life harder.

In my country, there is also ban to use Bitcoin but many people are using this with 3rd parties. Now, there is a case in Supreme Court to allow Cryptocurrencies in the country. Few proposals to regulate the cryptocurrencies are prepared, many youngsters are also ready after 1 year course regarding cryptocurrency to participate in this community, but all these are still waiting for the decision of Supreme Court. I hope soon it would be legal for us in our country.

I can understand why there are still governments that have not accepted Bitcoin, even though there is already a lot of news
that shows Bitcoin is very helpful for the country's economy. Because for the government Bitcoin is considered to be a threat
to fiat, so it is not easy to explain to the government that Bitcoin is not dangerous. So you must be grateful for people who
come from countries that have accepted Bitcoin, because it is not easy for the government to accept Bitcoin, requires a long
process for all countries to accept Bitcoin.

Which country is it?
Actually if it is illegal, we really can't do many things because it is under the valid law and there is a punishment.
So dilemma. But, what kind of "use" do you mean? Can your government know that you use Bitcoin for trading? Or investing?
If it is about a law to use Bitcoin for payment method, it may be easily checked. As in my country, it is also not legal as a payment method. So, we only use BTC for digital assets, commodities.
And if you are using it for trading, investment, and other digitalized activities, can your country detect it?
the problem that you may face is about the difficulties to cash out it to fiat, but for now, you can use PayPal (still debatable because of some term & codnition) and other platforms to help to cash out it.
Btw I am sure that many people from the country that still ban BTC are also here and involved in Bitcoin.

You can continue to live there and obey the rules, continue to live there and ignore the rules, leave the country. It is difficult to oppose the government you will definitely lose here if you break their enforced law and you can be imprisoned. They will not listen to you even though you explained it well to them. You have to wait until your government decided to accept crypto in your country, or if you have enough funds leave your country and find other country near you where crypto is legalized.

There is no way to make the government change their decision, unless you have such power to make them do it, in this case, better to stay anonymous.
Do not ever involve in a centralized trading platform, you'll never get caught if you know how to remain under the radar. You can buy bitcoin peer to peer or from decentralized exchanges, just set an account and prepared the payment. You can't spend bitcoin to buy anything inside your country nor exchange it for fiat currency, but you can exchange it for stable coins if you want.

The best way would be using VPN, this way you will be able to change your IP address and can no longer be detected. Unless using VPN is illegal in your country, in that case you have no option but to wait until Bitcoin is accepted in your country. Though, if you insist to still have some, no one cam stop you since as long as there is internet, you can freely have it.

Too bad for the OP because even their state police is catching those who are crypto users. May we know what country are we talking about here? With PayPal's inclusion of crypto and other popular companies joining crypto, your government may think twice of banning the use of bitcoin or crypto. Understanding this technology is one way for them to accept its existence. However, if they don't want to be educated, that's their prerogative on this matter.

Government has close ears and eyes about bitcoin they will not listen to any of our explanation for sure.

Governments won't very easily get into the usage and acceptance of bitcoin. When we talk about any government, it expect to have the prime power in its control. This means the economic revenue based decisions, and other major things. In the meantime it always focus on long term plans and always keeps the people under its governance and does everything necessary to its people. If bitcoin is accepted, automatically the control is with the people and for this reason it won't easily accept bitcoin, other than few exceptions that has understood the need of bitcoin in a better way.

I would be wary evey little move you will do related to bitcoin such accessing crypto-related websites and services. Either your account on some crypto-services where you enrolled will be locked since its against their TOS, or you will be caught of the authorities with the help of your ISP even with the use of VPN. Though you can use TOR for more security but if the authorities are more aggressive of finding criminals (since you will be labeled as criminal) then much better to do it with risk as always.

In my country, I am facing the same problem here. Even if any government officials know using cryptocurrency by hook or by crook they will arrest them and as punishment they have to pay a lot with up to 12 years jail. So it is very risky here and still I am using it in a regular basis.

First of all, you need to either stop using it or conceal yourself from such activities. Concealing yourself will better if you want to use it, Tor browser can help you and you need to do transactions if you love to use it. Then you should go to the decentralized exchange for P2P transactions.

By following these ways, maybe you can save yourself.

If I were in your position, I would still use it discreetly, very safely by all means and only I will know for myself.
and my reasons for being able to secretly use bitcoin or other crypto currency and let my bitcoin grow until the time comes.
because I believe one day in a country or government that strictly prohibits bitcoin will change its mind and allow bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies to be used freely.
it only takes time and adjustments to adapt to bitcoin or cryptocurrency like other countries which were originally strictly prohibited and finally allowed, and still have to follow government rules.

I don’t know which country you live in, so they consider bitcoin a criminal case if you use it. My advice, as a law-abiding citizen,

The best thing to do is to go somewhere else it is legal to use and have, because if your government is too tight when it comes in Bitcoin, then no matter how careful you are on not getting trace or caught on act using it, you'll still gonna get caught, trust me, unless you're good enough on making yourself untouchable online so the cyber security of the authorities in your country won't be able to trace you.

He doesn't have to tell his friends or family that he has bitcoin because he doesn't know if they can keep his secret and not saying to other people out there. If he can keep the secret for himself, I think he can still use bitcoin without a problem. He can use a VPN to connect to the network if he wants to send or receive bitcoin, while he can hide his wallet from other people if he doesn't use it anymore. Maybe someday, his government will open their eyes to crypto and accept it as a new payment method, so he doesn't have to hide his wallet if he wants. But hiding his wallet from other people will be the best thing that he can do to prevent the thief or hacker.

Yeah this one, pretty straight and no additional stuff that you can do anyway. Im surprised why your country's police is also involved into crypto currencies so strictly? Its like not even real currency for that matter. There are illegal ways to use it but not all of them do it! Many people are literally coming into crypto space to have side income and fulfil their financially needs to be honest.

I strongly believe your government and police has made some nasty investigation where crypto currencies are being used for illegal activities. Otherwise in my country also bitcoin is not official but people still talk about it, use it and get fiat converted into banks.

It does not matter if  you trade bitcoin in low supply. Government banned bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies because if all people trade their investment in bitcoin their state bank will fail to get the income they want.
Low volume trading will not affect this so you can trade Without any tension.
Bitcoin is also illegal in our country but smart people trying to legal it. Hope we will see it legal soon.

It is difficult to explain these things to those people who are not willing to accept this idea. Perhaps, it is better if you will stay hidden from your Crypto activities for a while until your government sees the importance of having these technologies or either move to a country that fully supports the use of Crypto.

We cannot simply say that they can easily use a VPN just to access cryptocurrency because every country has its own firewall that will prevent them to browse something that is illegal to visit in their country. Maybe we can say that they can use that VPN but still when you are being caught if you are browsing or visiting a website that is illegal to visit in your country, there's an equivalent punishment for that. We are all hoping that those countries will recognize the nature and the usage of bitcoin or cryptocurrency to be exact. That it is not a scam but an opportunity.

I don't think there's any government that is ready to accept bitcoin now, since its a decentralized currency which they can't regulate they see it as a threat cause they are able to track what their citizens are doing financially, that's the main reason why they are always against the use of bitcoin within the country, so in your case I think you try hiding your ass, by making using of VPN, cause they might be tracking your activities on the web.

The existence of a decentralized currency makes it difficult for the government to find solutions to complex problems that are beyond its control. That is a tough part dealing with legal matter concerning the stand of your government towards Bitcoin considering it as illegal and can put you into sanction of being punished if you will be identified upon using Bitcoin in your country. Actually it is a difficult thing to exit with for you are battling your rights and wants on using Bitcoin against what your country's government stand that it is illegal in your place. If there is really no choice, you better just follow your government instead of risking your life using Bitcoin knowing it is illegal in your place. The main enemy here is the government's perception towards Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency knowing that they cannot regulate it giving them the impression that it would be a possible or potential threat which is not true. It is just how the government perceive Bitcoin will be the way to decide whether it will be accepted or not. But on the case of OP, better just follow his country's policy instead of getting into risk of being caught.

I think you could still buy bitcoin even though your country does not support or accept bitcoin, if the government would punish you for using bitcoin or buying bitcoin it might be banned or illegal in your country.

But I think even though in some countries where bitcoin is banned you could still used bitcoin, what I mean is they cannot really fully banned bitcoin because it is just in the Internet thing.

They cannot really block everything that is related to this bitcoin or cryptocurrency and at the end of the day you could always used a VPN to access it from other countries.

I think your government needs also to understand what is best and moreover easier, perhaps your country belongs to the group of low capacity as well as, there is no freedom for selection to any exchanges due to a lack of education about a system inside Bitcoin as modern methods or technology. Practically, if you remain in such a situation it can be considered that your country will remain old-fashioned.

Government will not listen to you for sure because they know bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency but I am also sure that the right will come that your government will realize how important bitcoin is.

The same rule with my country although bitcoin is not legal as payment currency transaction we still available to use bitcoin as trading and investing assets, I think what our government rule is better than other country have not legal for using bitcoin as transaction or investment assets like for trading or investing. Still any good progress after my president give announcement with legal for bitcoin later but still waiting when bitcoin become legal transaction payment and how many positive impact bring after bitcoin available for transaction currency payment. If you country still illegal using bitcoin you have looking alternative way when you try to cash out bitcoin.

This is a lot to be discussed as many countries on banning bitcoin. To be honest I don't understand why other countries banned bitcoin as they didn't see the opportunity to adopt in their country. And the benefits that could be gained by the users. Well, that's also stated that it could promotes on money laundering so for those who wants to use bitcoin in those countries are in difficult situations. The thing that they could do is to follow the rules and regulations just to avoid getting caught.

You don't need to explain.

The time you do that, you might just be caught by not following the rule against the illegality of Bitcoin. If you really wanted to use Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, I think it is better if you will just use it without them knowing. Bitcoin may record all of the transactions in the Blockchain but I don't think they would be able to determine or pinpoint the address you're using.

If bitcoin is outlawed and prohibited for use on the territory of your country, then you have no option but to abide by the law and forget about bitcoin. Or you can follow the spirit of the law, but not the letter of the law, and start using bitcoin illegally, which will render you criminal, obviously. Is it right to ban bitcoin from a moral point of view? Probably, not. Is it rational to use bitcoin if you feel that laws regarding it are unjust and immoral? Probably, yes. If all people in your country continue to use bitcoin despite unfriendly regulation, that fact will probably show the government that they should regulate bitcoin less strict way. If bitcoin is in high demand among ordinary citizens and businesses, it will be rational for the government to legalize it and make use of it.

Dont force your government to use bitcoin if its illegal in your country you must obey the law of course, Do you want to get jailed just because you want to use bitcoin? If I were you I will just use btc to earn more fiat like in trading and convert your profit in fiat thats the best thing you can do right now.

How come you are saying that the government is not directly accepting Bitcoin while it is possible that some people are already using it for their personal leisure and not just for the government? Liking Bitcoin does not help but we need to approach it with technicalities. We can explain that Bitcoin is an electronic currency that will do no harm with your environment and economy. It is safe to use and lacking knowledge regarding Bitcoin will surely be the reason on why some people rejects it.

So does the police in your country randomly stop people and start checking their phones for Bitcoin and crypto wallets? If it’s that way, then it will be a risk to make use of cryptocurrency, but you can still make some efforts in how place the wallets in your phone to keep them safe and secret. Then if that’s not the problem, then you have to just keep it a secret and not tell anyone.

When you buy and sell cryptocurrency do not make use of centralized exchanges because they are always going to expose you, it’s best to make use of private means.

i think the ban you're reffering to has something to do with official transactions for example selling the bitcoins for a bank transfer or something because otherwise i cant see how can they tell

The government has never been a fan of bitcoin, it's quite obvious they dislike decentralization, that's why they don't want their citizens to use it within the country, so they make laws like this to stop their citizens from using bitcoin of bitcoin for their daily transactions, in your case its kinda risky using bitcoin in country so the only advice or way I think you can continue to use bitcoin under the radar without government noticing is to make use of paid VPN apps or by Using TOR browser, from my end I think either one of those two should help you to hide your identity from the government.

Can we know in what country do you live exactly? Are you sure Bitcoin is totally prohibited in your country? In some countries, Bitcoin isn't allowed for payment tools but it is not prohibited for digital asset purposes. So, you can convert your Bitcoin to your national currency once you need to cash it. But if it is true that Bitcoin totally prohibited there, it will be hard to get the solution. You may try to trade Bitcoin on a global exchange (ex: Binance) and convert it to dollars if you need to cash it. But I am not sure where you will send the dollars.

never heard about someone that can be caught by the police in that situation. I am curious about in which country do you live.
is it legally regulated already? or it's caused by a piece of misleading information due to a crypto scam that has been happened before?
bitcoin was banned in most countries as a payment only, not in terms of digital assets or commodities that can be traded.

however, you could use crypto exchange services that accept digital wallet like perfectmoney, payeer, etc.
I think you can find it easily on bestchange.
and you can convert your bitcoin into these digital money before you convert it to fiat.

We are lucky in our country, although cryptocurrency is not yet legal but they allow us to use it freely. We can also use bitcoin to pay our bills and there are some stores that already accepting bitcoin as payment method.

Like our country ,The government keeps on giving Warning Since there are scams happening here in the name of crypto yet no strict rules against this.

You don't need to say whether they accept Bitcoin or not.

When they don't accept Bitcoin, that just means that they will be banning Bitcoin and that also means that it will be illegal to be used. That is why it is better that they don't bother when the people are either using it or not. If they make it legal, the time will come that it will either be accepted and have taxes or ban it because they can't control it.

Normal some countries government does not permit cryptocurrency especially bitcoin in their society,  but since the advert of bitcoin is going viral many countries has started adopting or legalising cryptocurrency in their country, it's unbelievable that till now some countries are still against cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, so I will like to advice you since your country don't admit the use of bitcoin for transactions that shouldn't make you not to purchase btc if you have passion via bitcoin, because you can be using btc their for two year or more than no one will be aware by keeping it in your wallet or investment platform and when is needed you can convert it through exchanges, because it's obvious that government can't be moving around to search for who ever that has btc, the only thing a country heads can do is to prevent or pass law that Btc users should not use it to purchase any products in the country since is not legalized.

It seems that the OP is not back in discussion with the topic he created

If we discuss the legality of Bitcoin, it is very true that every country has different regulations to welcome the existence of Bitcoin, some prohibit it for transactions, some allow it, some sell it for assets only, and others.

It can be said that if Bitcoin is completely banned in your country, I think you can still own Bitcoin with other buying methods. I really believe everyone can own Bitcoin, but I'm not sure Bitcoin can be used to pay in all stores, only a small number of shops accept Bitcoin as a means of payment, that means FIAT currency is still the main choice.

You can still live, even though you can't use Bitcoin at this time. Maybe you think Bitcoin is safe for you to use, but for some traders owning Bitcoin with high volatility is also a risk to their business

If the country you live in have rules against using Bitcoin or crypto then your only option is to either use VPN, VPS or other ways to change your IP address, it wouldn't make you totally invisible and they can still find those who use Bitcoin and such if they want to, but it's very unlikely that they do that since it's not worth the cost and time for them, also don't bother yourself with explaining anything because that wouldn't solve anything, it's not like they made it illegal because a very few use them in illegal activities, but their main purpose for making them illegal is to keep making profit out of their banks and also to be able to keep total control over all transactions and their people as the result.

unfortunately the majority of politicians are very outdated people at the technological level and because of this they cannot understand the technology and prefer to ban

Algeria, Bolivia, Nepal, Pakistan, and Vietnam (are some countries where it is very dangerous to use bitcoin)

Majority of these government dont fully support Bitcoin. There are ways it can be used in your country but you have to be extremely careful to be on a safer side . It will require you to use VPN service or alternatively Remote Desktop Software (RDP) to mask your identity and location . Besides, trading it will be more safer if you are using legit decentralized exchanges  which accepts P2P . Another thing to take in consideration is not to use custodial wallet . Always Use the wallet which you have full control and access to its key because your account can be shut down anytime if you use custodial wallet.  Above all, i will advice to play safe while using bitcoin since your government is against it .

Bitcoin is not accepted in many countries like like we all know but bringing to our knowledge that’s in your country bitcoin enthusiasts are been persecuted for being passionate about a technology they find excitement in and also enhance their financial status and save their seed for online business transactions. I don’t see the technology a bad development to any nation economy if not for the selfish interest of the government.

Arresting bitcoin users is really outrageous and unspeakable because it’s more of a personal choice and nobody is forced to invest in bitcoin so why the persecution? Please for more information about these post, I like to know the country in particular?

The regulations in various countries on bitcoin regulations will certainly be different. There are those who openly allow transactions using bitcoin and some are only allowed as commodity assets. Including in my country, Indonesia, Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is only provided with regulations for commodity trading and is not allowed to be used as a legal transaction tool such as the national currency.

Even so, bitcoin users will not be arrested just for using bitcoin for other private transactions. Because there is no law that regulates bitcoin cryptocurrency users will be arrested.

The pros and cons of using Bitcoin or cryptocurrency will of course always be there. However, cryptocurrency is a technology that needs to be developed because cryptocurrency is a digital currency technology that will be very useful in the future.

The reason why most of the countries dont acknowledge and accept bitcoin is because it is decentralized and they dont have any authority to regulate it thats why they avoid bitcoin. In your case, you wait until the government see the advantages and benefits of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in your economy, it will takes time but if that will happen it will be all worth it.

This is a fact. Most of the government didn't want to have any other related negotiations when it comes to bitcoin because they don't have the power to regulate it or to control since it is decentralized. I think many government personnel starting to think or come up to some idea on how they will manage to control the regulations of the bitcoin so that they may able to have some profits or to control it. They didn't actually want it to be gone but rather to learn how to control.

And yes, there are no law saying that a bitcoin user will be arrested but in our country some government starting to put some taxes on the bitcoin or cryptocurrency transactions since sometimes it has a large amount of money involved. They want to legalize it and put it under the law. I guess.

If the government adopts bitcoin as a legal currency, of course a lot of people will use bitcoin as a transaction tool or as an asset for their savings compared to saving money in a bank, this will create financial difficulties in the bank and will have a negative impact on how the banking system will run. Maybe that's a very logical reason at this time when there are still many countries that have not legalized bitcoin transactions as a legal medium of exchange. But it does not rule out that someday if there is a change of government it will adopt bitcoin as a legal transaction tool.

As long as you don't use your bank account to trade in cryptocurrency, the government will be unable to find out whether you own any cryptocurrency or not. But then the question comes how can you purchase cryptocurrency, without using your bank account. There are several methods, but they involve additional markup. One method is to use peer-to-peer platforms (where KYC is not required) to exchange gift cards (which you can purchase with your bank account or credit card) for Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Another method is to send funds (in fiat currency) to some intermediary outside your country. He will purchase cryptocurrency and send it back to you.

It is true that government which acknowledges this innovation and governments which are still contradicting the selection. One fundamental reason I think is decentralization. There we talked about numerous times in this gathering to why there are still nations wherein cryptos are not being broadly utilized. Decentralization essentially implies exchanges won't be saddled not at all like in fiat monetary forms or fiat based advanced monetary standards. But I think regularization is as of now in advance through the utilize of third party systems tolerating crypto as a mode of installment. In such way, charges will be force to exchanges which can empower other nations to receive this innovation to develop the economy of the country.

I am agree with this never use bank to buy or trade into crypto currency unless his government doesn't have control in it because the information can be breach if government known every transaction are being made this can be a security failure for bank. And how can he buy of invest bitcoin if his not going to buy? Is there any payment method can he use to buy some bitcoin? I think every exchange or bitcoin sites now are required verified your credit card information before you buy or invest, I like your idea on buying gift card but if he has friends/family that he can trust to buy bitcoin for him then it can be easy for him to have bitcoins

The government does not have control over bitcoin because this transaction system is decentralized so there is no third party to collect tax fees from users, technology is increasingly developing transactions with bitcoin, the more the number because quickly we can send without problems, therefore the government must be There is a little want to prohibit the use of bitcoin in its area, but it is true that fighting technology cannot be avoided because we can find out that there are very many bitcoin users around the world.

Official and financial institutions won't exceptionally effectively get into the utilization and acknowledgment of bitcoin. When we conversation almost any government, it anticipate to have the prime control in its control. This implies the financial income based choices, and other major things. Meanwhile it continuously center on long term plans and continuously keeps the individuals beneath its administration and does everything fundamental to its individuals. In the event that bitcoin is acknowledged, naturally the control is with the individuals and for this reason it won't effortlessly acknowledge bitcoin.

That was very unfortunate that your leaders never saw the benefits of having Bitcoin. I'm not really judgemental here but your leaders are blind enough to see the things happening around and I am sure that they know already about cryptocurrency and so much for Bitcoin.
Well, I really don't know the reason for it never been said in your post but what I think here is that they are worried for the future and their greedy souls can't make benefits from Bitcoin than having fiat money with them.

Let me lay this out for you:

Here in Taiwan, for example if you are with the current political party and knows corrupt official you have no problem transacting, buy, sell, or mine bitcoin (so easy to get taipower to approve power to your mining farm in the country side).

If you are not part of the corrupt system then sorry.  Police will come after you and take your wealth away.

Let us know if you have any comments, questions, or concerns.

Many governments have already started accepting bitcoin as digital assets. It will take some more years when btc will become global currency.

By some countries maybe.

Most of these countries did legalize cryptocurrencies but I don't think it is accepted as a digital asset because we all know how will they react when it comes to something that people would earn and them not getting any taxes from it. I guess this is just mainly for the protection of the people that would use it in their country.

In our country, bitcoin is considered a crime and its miners are dealt with seriously.
I still do not know if this is necessary?

You can use Bitcoin only for trading purposes since your country is not accepting this or at least p2p if some people in your place as also having Bitcoin or other crypto n their position.

how can you explain this to those people that banned it?they should have different understanding from yours and doing such is a Nonsense for this time being.

better just do your things and let time dictate on what is the future of Bitcoin in your place but for now just do nothing but accumulate bitcoin.

I'm not sure when it is going to happen, but I've been in Bitcoin since April 13th, 2013 and I'm sure we will have the usual, about, 35% correction or haircut on something.

My current bet is it will be some 'dubious' 'as long as we are voted out of office anyway' unworkable KYC in and out for BTC/Crytpo exchanges and/or something to do

about private Bitcoin/Crypto wallets that are self-hosted. My 'current' bet for this 35% haircut will be due to this large FOMO pump which also will place such in place,

likely ASAP. So the only question is how high will Bitcoin be when the haircut and 35% correction happens...well, who knows. But it has been a constant of such corrections

on dubious regulations or exchanges crashing or whatever..like the pump ...there will be the dump. But damn, it sure would be nice if it happened at an All-Time-High (ATH)

of like $50,000 USD or some such, huh?

Till then enjoy the ride. :)

For the people who rarely hearing about Bitcoin, it is just like a product that they did not know so they would not us it. How could you use something that you do not have any background about it? Would you take the risk of using it? The government should have a deep knowledge about Bitcoin so that they would understand how they can be use it, but for the country which hates the Bitcoin, we cannot pursue everyone to deal with it. Let their government rule their country.

In my country, BTC is not accepted yet. It is not allowed to use but not so restricted as a crime. But if any occurrence happens is harmful to the country then maybe restrictions will apply by the government. I think that in my country BTC will be allowed a little far. Because, BTC is already allowed in the maximum country and wish it will become a legal, first currency in the world.

There's. no point pondering about something that will eventually happen. Bitcoin is playing a too major field in order for it to
1) not get noticed and
2) not be introduced by governments at some point.

On that 2nd point, while it may take some time to come up with the regulations at the end of the day in a democratic governments can't do much is the population wants to use BTC. They can't control the people in that way anymore, and so larger adoption even by governments is inevitable.

I do not think it is okay to disobey government laws. THE restrictions means that firms, shops, eateries, etc would be unable to set up a payment solution using crypto currencies. If you cannot exchange bitcoin with fellow citizen; i think you should be able to buy for the long term. Bitcoin will end up being accepted everywhere. Get as much satoshis as you can.

Even in my country, bitcoin is not yet accepted as a legal currency but if the people know that you are using bitcoin, you will not be in prison nor investigated by the government.
The situation in his country may be different in your country. In your country, Bitcoin seems not allowed for payment purposes only, but you can use it for a digital asset. This situation is the same as in my country, Bitcoin isn't fully prohibited but has limitation to use. While in the OP country, Bitcoin is probably fully prohibited to use. Both for payment tools and digital assets as well.

KYC might help some platforms, mobile wallets or exchange but I don't think that would directly help the government. Tax will but I hope they continue what they are doing by just making laws or regulations not to tax Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies but just to take care of look into the people using it and giving them protections to scams and hacks.

In my country itself bitcoin can't be "currency" for any payment they called asset just like other commodity and there's government organization that regulated it.

Would love to know which country you are from maybe some other people in the country here on the forum can give your more insight on how to use it. Since your government do not want it, it will be difficult to see any local exchanger in your country due to the fear. Making use of p2p platform to get bitcoin sold and pay to your bank account might be an option but it is not safe either. If the bank discover that the money come from a crypto related settlement, your account can be freeze. However, there are many goods and services you can buy with bitcoin out there. You can buy gadgets etc with bitcoin and also convert your bitcoin to gift card for extended service usage. Also you should be careful making use of custodian wallet to avoid government seizing of freezing your asset

Sometimes you just got to do what you feel is right, it doesn't really have to involve disobeying the rules, from the way I see it the government in his country don't want the citizens to use a decentralized currency which they can't track, maybe alot of fraudulent activities are going on in the country and they are looking for a way to reduce it, then boom there comes bitcoin a decentralized currency which they have no control over and the transactions done with it can not be traced down to one person, or maybe for some other reasons, but my advice will still be to remain anonymous on the internet that's by using TOR browser or a VPN.

well we can understand why your government isn't accepting bitcoins in the country,
the decentralized nature ,the fluctuating value with the transaction anonymity doesn't sounds great for the acceptance of bitcoins but these features have their own advantages that has helped bitcoins reach where it is now .
aside from that in my country the government says its  illegal but they themselves are not sure about what to do to those who still use BTC ,but punishing is overkill . why punish people for using a digital crypto currency.

That's why some of them who first time heard even name of bitcoib or cryptocurrency were thinking thag this was a scam. They don't know about it and that's why they didn't pay even a small attention on knowing bitcoin more deeply but if there's someone who they know that were already generate an income from it they become interested about it.

Here in our country bitcoin or crypto wasn't illegal but not also legally implemented and people are free to do what they wanted to in cryptocurrency. And that's what i guess the advantage of being here hopefully some countries may allowed their people to be engaged in crypto.

Well, am not really sure of any country around the world that hasn't hear something called Bitcoin, except if that country ban citizens from the use of internet in the country. Firstly, Bitcoin is called Internet Money, so it's not be own by anybody but anyone who want to belong to the internet world. If your country still allow citizens to surf the internet then you're in the right place. Secondly, if you can take up a seminar class with your locals it will be best for this to be actualize, starting this teachings from your locals will enhance the spread of this Bitcoin around your locality and will help minimize funds, also, you can create page on FB or TW to gather your locals for a lecture and exposure into this internet money.

What if you move to a country where bitcoin is free to use? In our country, you can use bitcoin anytime. I think bitcoin is already known everywhere or in every country but the problem is the government, they don't accept and recognize the bitcoin and they also don't want their community to use it, maybe they are afraid that one day bitcoin will become more useful currency on their country than their own fiat money.

It all depends on which country you live in and how to use it, as there are a few ways you should go about it as suggested here.
In the country where I live, bitcoin is allowed and only used for investment and if there is a very big problem or loss it is beyond the responsibility of the government.
and besides that it is not allowed for purchase transactions using bitcoin and must be exchanged for the currency that will be used for any transaction.
and there is a possibility that the country strictly prohibits bitcoin because it does not know bitcoin deeply, but this is not possible because bitcoin is now globalized and will definitely know the risks and benefits that can be obtained.
