Title: High blood pressure

High blood pressure raises your chances of having both heart attack and stroke. It’s important to know your numbers, because if you have high blood pressure you’ll want to bring those numbers down. Talk to your doctor about the best ways for you to lower your blood pressure. Here are some things they may suggest.

1.Lose Weight:
If you’re overweight, losing as little as 10 pounds can lower your blood pressure. It will also help with sleep apnea -- when your breathing briefly stops multiple times while you sleep.

2. Eat Healthy:
A program called DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) is considered by many to be the best diet when it comes to managing and lowering blood pressure.

Fruits and vegetables, especially berries, which are high in antioxidants

Whole grains

High-protein foods, like unsalted nuts

Foods high in potassium and magnesium, like leafy greens or beans

Calcium-rich foods, like low-sugar yogurt


3.Get Regular Exercise:
Exercise is the soulmate to eating right. You’re more likely to lose weight if you exercise and follow a healthy diet


4.Reduce Your Sodium Intake:
It’s a prime offender in raising blood pressure. The American Heart Association recommends that people with hypertension keep it under 1,500 milligrams a day. Check your food labels to see how much you’re getting


5.Reduce Your Stress:
Lowering your stress helps keep your blood pressure normal. Try mind-body exercises like yoga and tai chi. Meditation can also help with stress, as can listening to calming music, or making music. One study found that playing music had benefits that were similar to physical activity.


6.Quit Smoking:
Swearing off cigarettes is probably the single best thing you can do for your heart. It’s good for your health in general, too. Not only does smoking hurt you over the long term, but your blood pressure goes up every time you have a cigarette. Lower your blood pressure and prolong your life by quitting. If you need help getting started, talk to your doctor.


If you are following these things then you can lead a healthy life. My mother also have high blood pressure problem & she also follow these things and now she is good than before. I think these instructions also help for you guys those are have high blood pressure problem.

I agree with 1, lose weight.

I partially agree with 2, as we don't have the same concept of eating healthily. For me it would be to eat three times a day maximum but with no whole grains, better if it's high in natural healthy fats, but as long as it's unprocessed food, I'm OK.

4 I disagree. I've read what the American Heart Association says and what dr Jason Fung (and others) say and I believe the latter.

Ofcourse... As long as you feed (moderately) on healthy natural foods that improve your body, with little to no bad side-effect.
My recent experience with certain animal fat has taught me that not all fat are afterall bad for the body if consumed the right way.
I used to dislike any kind of fat years ago, probably due to my bad experience with certain fat and I depended alot on health articles/publication with materials that are not very correct or reliable.
Just eat more of the natural foods what work for you (especially those with little to no bad side effect).

I prefer to consume healthy food, have enough sleep, and not try too hard to do something. We should know our limits, so we can prevent anything worst that can happen. Maybe if we almost get high blood pressure, our body will give a sign, but people will usually ignore it and say, I am fine.

Last year I experienced high blood pressure myself. In the evening in bed when I tried to fall asleep I could feel and hear my heart pumping. It took me 1 hour to fall asleep, it's very annoying and can be dangerous. My doctor advised me change my diet and have a more healthy lifestyle. It took a few months but this really made a difference gif me. Also eating too much salt is very bad.

I am in the same Boat now , I am in the midst of fighting for Heart Problem and i can feel that High blood pressure  is On me.

Lose weight and exercise are the best methods, not only for HBP but also for other diseases.
Anyways, taking some dosage of the black seed, hibiscus, and basil extracts also helps a lot.

I have friend who is with HBP but he is not fat, never stop training since 18years old, he is in his mid 30 now. Doesn't drink, doesn't smoke and he is eating really healthy.
So probably this disease is not only for fat and lazy people idk..

I believe high pressure can lead to much more serious pathologies and perhaps even a heart attack, we have to take care of your health yes, well i would exclude the diet, perhaps reduce the salt, reduce smoking and do some physical activity, reduce the stress is not always possible

High blood pressure is not an ailment or disease.  It is an indication of another problem.   

If you have high blood pressure, don't ignore it.  Consider it like the phone calls you get before the police forcibly evict you.  Answer the phone and deal with it.

I totally agree but when you go to the doctor he just treats the symptom. He just gives you a medication to lower blood pressure. If you are lucky he might give you some indications to eat healthily, lose weight etc. but in general what they do is try to turn down the sound of the call instead of picking up the phone to see what's going on.

I totally agree with these pointers. But the most important thing that i think everyone forget is that to regularly visit your doctor for your regular check up. This method can be considered as prevention. Always remember that prevention is way better than cure. Consulting your doctor regularly is I thin will be the best option we can have.

Like Vod says above , this is a Indication of another illness and must be traced before anything happens worst.

I had some friends that Just ignored this and now their already gone , Lets make it a habit specially when we are not younger anymore to go to doctor each time we felt something different in our conditions .

Loosing weight definitely helps! Apart from everything doctors suggest, which I'd not comment, a proven way to lower a high good pressure is to:
- eat garlic
- use cinnamon spice

Garlic is very efficient and helps a lot.

This is very helpful. I was diagnosed last 2019 with hypertension and some of the tips you've given were true and I've done them myself which really helps me lower my blood pressure.

5 is hard to do.

We are in the pandemic despite the vaccines, the death toll and active cases are increasing. More jobs are being lost and more people are suffering.

This is really stressful and hard to beat because of the situation.

Useful tips. Well in our family, high blood is one of the disease and reason why we lost our loved ones, they say its hereditary but I dont think so. Because we can prevent it from happening if we have discipline on what we eat and do.

Healthy food and doing (even few minutes) exercise daily are some of the best way to prevent not only high blood pressure but the other illness as well. Its fine to eat unhealthy food sometimes as long as with moderation.

Please let's all try to avoid having this High blood pressure (HBP) it's very bad. I have seen it torment close fellows and I really feel for them. High blood pressure is a death threat. When it tensions you when no one is there or close you are likely to die, ensure regular check-ups, proper dieting..etc

high blood pressure is very dangerous...
my mother has still paralyzed half body because of the high blood pressure she suffered. before being paralyzed, my mother and father ignored it because they thought high blood pressure was not a serious problem. when experiencing high blood pressure, the body signals that the person should be treated.

I have known Yoga for long time but does this really Help us? i mean our Body and mind ? Moving too slow and maintaining in one place the whole time?

I Jog , I run , I walk , those movement gives me complete satisfaction , But yoga ? is there someone that engaging in Yoga here that can lighten me out? thanks.

I have known Yoga for long time but does this really Help us? i mean our Body and mind ? Moving too slow and maintaining in one place the whole time?

I would encourage holy meditation. Just find somewhere very calm and peaceful to listen to or read good materials and meditate on them in near calmness.   It helps me alot.

When I started holy meditation, little noise would normally distract me but I have learned to cope with noise now. Lots of time I use good sounds through ear peice to cancel the noise.


In regards to High Blood pressure, I used to experience things that feels like high blood pressure years ago. I would use banana, fish oil, other fruits/vegs to calm my irregular and high heartbeats. The problem seems to have stopped permanently thesedays

Nobody else mentioned it yet but I know a guy who has very high blood pressure. He was told by his doctor to take an aspirin pill daily. Not everybody is willing to do it but a aspirin thins the blood so it lowers the risk of heart attack.

As In everything that mentioned in OP? is the OP is your doctor?  ;)

last mounth i have an experience abaut high blood pressure when i'm going to do vaccine, so the doctor tell me to wait until your blood pressure became lower than before.the docter tell mr when your body became blood pressure ,you need to do something out of you habbit like ,do spot everyday, don't eat meet to much and eat vegetable morethan before ..he sayed to eat cucuber,it good fo blood pressure
and to sleep early and enough time, prevent from stress and always have happy thoughts.

Lol  aspirin will increase your acidity in which Bad for High blood also.

My blood pressure has got better during lockdown & the pandemic just from walking really. When everything was locked I walked 4 mile per day & my blood pressure is 125 - 84 now or something like that & pulse rate 83. I feel much fitter.
