Title: Discussion! Don't BUY FAKE! "wallet.dat" files with lost passwords.
Post by: Antoni4EVA1984 on February 07, 2021, 08:36:29 AM
This post is for people to cross reference their findings/hashes to double check before they buy any wallets from scammers online. Please do share all your findings to help people not get scammed. Hopefully this is the right place to post.

This Post Will Be Updated & Ongoing With Mine & Other's Findings.

You can also check out this thread here For more information Fake wallet.dat can trick bitcoin core client? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5130929.0)

I have decided to check every single huge bundle packs of wallet.dat's that is going around with copied Information's from allprivatekeys & have found a HUGE list of fake wallets. They're editing the public view keys of wallets with bank on them with blank wallet encrypted private key with an unbreakable password of like a gazillion increments so they can sell over & over & over again.

If anybody wants these wallet packs for FREE then ask me, you can have them. I won't charge you for them. 8)

If they try to sell you a wallet.dat then ask them for the Hashcat hash to cross reference my posts here, there is no reason not to give it to you before selling you their junk. You do not own that wallet.dat file so there is no reason not to share unless they know it's bull$hit.

There is NO WAY they have that many wallets consisting of the same code at the end. These my friends are dodgy as Fook!

There is only 4 things you can do to know for sure.

A: Check against all known public wallet.dat's by converting them in Hashcat & if there is duplicated codes at the end of the hash then it is more then likely dodgy, or ask the guy from allprivatekeys to check against his.
B: Load into Bitcoin Core and see if it even loads up & syncs.
C: Check all the time stamps against the address of all ongoing transactions on the blockcain to your Core GUI and see if they all match correctly. Check transaction details of each transaction, sometimes they miss the "to address" (if they don't match or have this then it's more than likely dodgy.)
D: Actually cracking it and being able to send out the coin. (Dream accomplished) 8)

(NOTICE AT THE END OF THE CODE WHEN CONVERTING IN HASHCAT THAT THE SAME CODE IS RECURRING IN THESE WALLETS, LOOK WHERE I HAVE PUT THE PART IN BOLD BELOW)

The usual suspects!

:o$60692$ :o$38193$ :o$62210$ :o$131578$ :o$37167$ :o$37698$ :o$35714$ :o

:o$42586$ :o$99974$ :o$62210$ :o$113073$ :o

Other ones also reported to be cautious of!

:o$83181$ :o$234847$ :o$106645$ :o

Moral of this story is, IF you see any of the above in your converted hashcat wallet then I would stay away and do not waste your time on it.

Please cross reference these with any new wallets and share to the community here.

Emails to you all have been sent with a temp download link. Go over to virus total and scan file so you know it is clean, download is valid for 7 days, please update the community on my post with new findings here and if you have any wallet.dat files share with me/us, it would be appreciated. I will also check them over to see if they're suspicious against the ones I have.

That is all well and fine if it is your wallet & I could help, it can be easily done if you have an idea of what your password was and how long it was roughly.

If it is not your wallet and you just downloaded it though, it will be pointless in trying as it will probably be a fake edited one.

According to my research, the 1.08BTC wallet file is supposed to be authentic, it was the first file to appear on Reddit, and based on the analysis of the wallet file, no obvious fakes were found.

If it this hascode on the end then they obviously missed the fact it occurs in 3 other wallets I got. $60692$2$00$2$00 There is another 1.08 BTC wallet I have that I still have to check in Core, which does have a unique hashcode & could possibly be good.

Edit I have another new bundle of wallets I will be checking over today.

Then maybe just this one wallet isn't fake?

Antoni, thank you for doing this and sharing with the community. Much appreciated!

You're welcome buddy, it is good for people to cross reference and share their wallet hashes if they match any on my list, saves time and money trying edited ones that we know of then. Even then they might not be legit.

More then likely a dodgy wallet.

A good user sent me this that had one of the wallets. Wallet in question 198BTC 1E87cVPLZ938w7vYEA1e9RWSc8mESPA3J5

He noticed that all other transactions are all in the correct time zone in UTC, without interference from local timezone.

The main +198 BTC in transaction is an hour apart, whoever edited this didn't realize it as it seems. There is also no "To" wallet address either in the transaction  details, see image below.

The Hash

What can you say about this patient is very similar to a fake $bitcoin$64$b540b7774bb0d392ca2ea1a5156f3c4ce5bc4687001cb79b3378519603819b21$16$3581059576caf391$52162$2$00$2$00

That is meant to be the one with 159 BTC correct? if so it does not conflict with any of the other wallets when hashed, next step for you to check is to load it in Bitcoin Core and check all the time stamps against the Blockchain (Sometimes they are not correct which is a red flag). Even then it is not guaranteed until you find the password and see if you can send it out.

Only 4 things you can do to know for sure.

A: Check against all known public wallet.dat's by converting them in Hashcat & if there are duplicated codes at the end of the hash then it is more then likely dodgy, or ask the guy from allprivatekeys to check against his.
B: Load into Bitcoin Core and see if it even loads up & syncs.
C: Then check all time stamps against the address of all ongoing transactions and see if they all match correctly.
D: Actually cracking it and being able to send out the coin.

Good luck.

As for the wallet for 1.08, I have had this file for a long time and now its data is extracted from me so strangely
$bitcoin$64$9de529051d808b5d34c679c43020a233e6b5161de2e85070127009d61e4c24c8$16$09792b4786f368cb$49019$2$00$2$00

I am not sure what you mean by strangely? elaborate please. that one is in the pack I sent you too. This 1.08 one is not recurring in other wallets or like the other 1.08 that is edited, this one could be legit. You will need to load in core wallet and check timestamps of transactions against the blockchain to see if it match. Next challenge would be to try and crack it.

Apparently the Info for that is "The password consists of digits, symbols, and Latin letters. From English speaking darknet forum." which is more than likely bollocks and it could also be any darknet forum with anything that could be on the keyboard.

I have that one already dude I got that in another pack last night sorry, (I got a lot of wallets I have been checking over, many fakes but some look good) I think this one is the real one and the other one someone tried to say was real is fake --> $60692$ it has the same code at the end as the 110 BTC one below if you look. Load it up in Bitcoin Core and Check the timestamps and transaction details of that one. I got a feeling that one is the real one with $49019$ as it has a unique code to the rest of the wallets.

These are fake below

Just updating the thread to let people know I am testing all the ones I sorted as good hash codes in Bitcoin Core Wallet now, so far 6 have been tested with 3 showing some dodgy stuff with timestamps and transaction details missing & 3 that seem legit.

Will update with images here soon, I have managed to get 35 wallets with unique hash codes out of about 85 wallets I held, a lot of them was either the exact same hash code or the end of the hash code was matching, some was empty wallets.

Currently testing them one at a time in Bitcoin Core for obscurities. I have 29 more wallets to check with unique hash codes,  I will update the thread with it all once I have compiled a full list of new dodgy ones.

I'm getting really tired of the forum being flooded by idiots attempting to crack wallets.

AFAICT whats going on right now is that scammers are selling fake wallets which are just encrypted wallets with other people's addresses listed in them for people to crack if only they can guess the password, but they don't actually contain the private keys so cracking the password would accomplish nothing (and the password is probably just some huge random string so it can never be cracked in any case).  If a fake wallet is well constructed it is impossible to distinguish it from a real encrypted wallet.

This isn't new, but at least one of them has put up a highly polished website now.  They're also going around and claiming that whenever coins were moved that they connected to these wallets (which happens from time to time because they're someone elses coins) that this was a successful hack by one of their customers.

I don't really have a problem with the meta-scammers ripping people off who are stupid enough to pay for other people's wallets to crack--  back when wallet encryption was new I, myself, put up a bunch of fake wallets on edonkey to look like they were accidentally shared so that malicious pieces of shit would waste their time on impossible to crack wallets.  Presumably charging for them makes the crooks all the more convinced that they are real ... but unfortunately this is creating a constant stream of querulous idiots making uninteresting posts, because the people ignorant enough to fall for this stuff also don't actually have anything interesting to say about wallet security.

Read what Gavin Maxwell, the Bitcoin developer, writes about it.
It makes no sense to write wallets and the amount of bitcoins on them, because scammers will create new wallets every time to deceive newbies.
It will take a huge amount of time to try to get a password by brute-force, and there will be no coins in the wallet.
Buy these wallets just for pranking your friends.

if some of the Wallets that doesn't look like Scam are real and are old, the password can't be extreme complex, because the Bitcoin price wasn't high at that time... so why use a strong password?
So.... any Wallet hash, that can't be hacked, in a "normal" amount of time, with a good Wordlist + a little rule are possible Fake.
Problem is that that this hash is extreme slow...
All good looking ones i have already run with some of my rules and wortlists that have a high success rate. i still have some attacks left i wanna try....
None has a PW <= 8
typical password length should be 12 to 16. from that time...
more hashpower than a month for a RTX3090 i will not spend on this interesting experiment.

One has the Password 11111111111 and surprise, empty ;)

Then i have Success i will send greetings from my new home in Hawaii  ;D

Yeah it might be something going on with your time zone on your PC to your browser or the block explorer you're using (Some Differ With Timezones) someone reported to me that the 198 BTC was doing the same in the wallet with the time stamps against the blockchain but it seemed to be okay for me, but on the transaction details there is information missing so it is dodgy the 198BTC wallet. Will update thread soon.

Simply i dont think that the Iter count that bitcoin2john gives is a value probability to conclude that the wallet could be fake, the iteration count is simply the number of how many times the password was hashed.

I have the 11.56 BTC wallet and it gives the same iter count from bitcoin2john that You posted, and the wallet was not fake becouse it was opened.

Just want to use different tools on this wallet but i dont have it.

There is nothing wrong with bitcoin2john, did it occur to you that the wallet is a fake one and the actual real person of the wallet just moved out the tokens? only because the sites that sell it say it is a success story does not mean they're telling you the truth. Have they provided the password with the success story? or just that funds have been moved from it? Do you also believe that the information of passwords are true too? lol I think not.

It is VERY unlikely that multiple wallets contain the same iteration. It could be possible but VERY unlikely.

You can also check out this thread here For more information Fake wallet.dat can trick bitcoin core client? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5130929.0)

Not saying that they are real , most of them are fake indeed, have also alot of them and doing research on how to inspect them quickly , but the iteration could be also related to the version of the core wallet , is just a SHA-512 count

That is, there is no real wallet file?

I am in the process of going over about 90 wallets in total as I have got more new ones that have added to the list, I am compiling a RAR file with ones I think could be good with information that is with them for passwords (Which is more then likely bollocks) also doing individual hash files for each possible good candidate and a compiled list of possible dodgy Hashed wallets to cross reference new wallets for ease so not to waste time. Also added a folder for each one I think is good with the sync files from Bitcoin Core so it can be loaded straight up without waiting for time to sync.

13 I think could be good so far but no one knows for sure unless they can crack and send out the coin. I also have 11 more wallets to check out of the 90 I have to sort.

Taking a long time to sort but I have nothing else better to do and would be a better chance to try them instead of wasting time on 100% fake wallets.

Will update the thread with some examples of why they're blatantly fake. But I will obviously keep the ones I have sorted off the thread as a lot of work has been done with this & we all know there is leachers & scammers trying to make a buck.

Yeah I would not buy any if I am honest with you, they claim to be legit but they're the same that is publicly available for free that is up for sale, I did ask the guy from allprivatekeys to send me the Hash for each wallet he has after speaking in email with him back and fourth but surprise surprise I have not got a response back since asking for them.

He has nothing to lose sending me the hash files for each wallet (Unless they're fake as they're the same as the public edited wallets going around)

I had just over 90 wallets that I have nearly checked, 13 seem okay, I have got 11 more wallets to check that seem to be unique in hashcode in bitcoin core.

Great, curious what the result could be, also checking a bunch of wallets for fake ones, runnig 5 Core wallets to sync every one of them and inspect the transactions

That is a lot of syncing :D

Hi guys,

as I wrote in an sharing post from MA40, I post it here also...

I have done some "research" on wallets.dat I got, you should check, before you try to guess the password...

at the following wallet if you compare the files in a simple way the "iteration" count is the same!
All have: 35714

10.08    1EQjwXjyom9T35764huyriFEredLGmneVC
12.8219  19tLSCZWhX5YBVy6uX2kLheNjdUb9RBojS
22.85    19Hj5Pzi4hCj12porw97i183XYTrScbtXS
42.2445  1NKmf6GszBQ6wo349LUT4Je1csNyDDpb5Y

I'd say it very unlikely that so much wallets have the same, iteration!
Maybe this is only true for my files, but check this...

Bye

PS:

Iterations - part of encryption of wallet.dat
See: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/src/wallet/wallet.cpp
e.g. Line 599

See how iterations are calculated, so to have the same iteration in more wallets, possible BUT all of those?... No.

I fully agree with you, it is what I have also been telling people here. I have and will be updating this thread with all the duplicate iterations of all these wallets & snapshots of the dodgy transaction details, even with some that aren't duplicated.

Even the wallets that aren't recurring in iterations could also very well be edited wallets. I certainly would not pay for any of these wallets. Thanks for your input and post for people to read  8)

Not selling them no, been giving them away to people for free. Once I have sorted the ones I think could be good I will run some wordlists, then add rules and masks if the straight attack does not work. I would not bother with increments though as it would take months, years & then 1000's of years once you start going up from 7 chars with the ?a charset.

We could join forces for cracking some of these small wallets , also found some wallets that are promising and will be running hashcat on them, got total of 18 GPUs for this task

Yeah once I have finished going through them I will start to run a few. I did have 24 gpu's but only got the 12 now as I sold the other half to top up my crypto portfolio a few months back. I am interested in possibly having trust worthy members in using a server and use -z mode. Could speed things up. But bare in mind even the ones we have checked could still be edited wallets.

We could use Hastopolis to join trust members on major wallets if they are legit, i got one build that could run as an server (Threadripper 3970X , 128GB of DDR4 and 2x 3090) currently on windows but if there will be interest i can set ap a Ubuntu server. will be upgrading my 12x1070 rig to 3090 as these will be avalible again  :P

Yes, the wallets that have the same iteration are simply the same wallet hex edited over and over again with what ever public view key they desire on the same wallet they have made. Not changed in bitcoin core to give new string like you have done above.

Edit: The ones I show that are recurring would not surprise me if they all have the same password, my suspicions are that it is the same encrypted wallet but hex edited with different public keys and junk to show bank in them. This would not be done in the Core Wallet but in a hex editor.

Some wallets have never spend coins in them, soo the pubkey is not published in the blockchain, the old bitcoin2john scrypt decodes also the pub key from the wallet file, soo we could compare if the pubkey is the same in the wallets with the same iteration. Or somehow try to decode the pubkey from the hash

Another one that is similar to many other wallets I have checked so far, has an unknown receiving address & transaction with missing details ;D

This is the first of many examples.

What's that you tell me?................... But...But it has it's own public address and encrypted private key so it must be real as it has balance ;D

I really need a real review.
Someone tell me: I have a question outside of all the specialized topics you raise.
1) Can someone really help in recovering a wallet backup file? Real
2) How and where can a real and correct file be prepared?
Thank you for not failing to answer me

I replied to you in an earlier post here if it is actually your wallet and if you have any idea how long the password is and any idea's of what you might of used. If it is a wallet you found online more then likely not.

Because I am a father and my child has cancer. I sold my whole life. But I need more money. No one could help me anywhere. I just want to beg here. If anyone can contact me. Because surely no one needs  more than me.

Yeah I have seen many stories like yours about losing your wallet password, you are not truthful and it is not your wallet. I suggest you stop with it or I will report you to the moderator and have you banned. Go else where and beg for a public wallet to be cracked. You did not answer my questions two times now. It is a red flag and you are not convincing me or anyone else.

Do whatever you want. Your brain is obsessed with bitcoin issues and dealing with the bitcoin core. Do not threaten. Your professional community (for example) is not the place for this childish talk. I read everything you wrote. But I did not see a question in it. That I want to answer. Or maybe you did not ask clearly. If so. I apologize. Which certainly is not.

Okay fella, your true colours are coming out now, so easy to spot you people. Go else where with your talk it is not welcome here for people generally interested in this thread & yes I have reported your account. You did not answer my questions about it being your wallet and if you have an idea of the password, twice I asked here in reply to you and it was very clear. Instead you keep emailing me and posting Cancer stories here which in my books is just low/sick of a human being to say. Have a good day.

Edit:- the funny thing is I emailed you all these wallets  ;D of corse it is your own wallet

me switches hashing from RTX3080 to RTX2080S .. its almost the same speed then its optimized.  Letting the 3080's mine Coins instead.

Hello,

Long-time lurker; I also saw your recent messages on raidforums.

Could I also have a copy at heinrich.starbucks@gmail.com ?

I will share the few wallet.dats that I have in reply to your e-mail (if you don't have them), and will post my approach to analyzing those files.

By the way, I think most of the files found on allprivatekeys (same file sizes) are also found here, for considerably cheaper:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5160025.msg56394856#msg56394856

However, in my experience, most (if not all) wallet.dats I've seen are fake/suspicious, in one way or another.

edit: just saw; my condolences.

So , long time lurker.. and i even have a few wallet.dat .. some are listed here as fake but some not..
one notable point that i have:
none of the wallet hashes i have are crackable by the password listed (the 12... whatever)
Info for each wallet exists but id dodgy , most likely
iterations of the fake ones are the same, so we throw those away
but that leaves me with 3 wallets that seem genuine. I had a 4th that was inactive for a while and then it was cleared out entirely.. the transactions were ongoing though.. so not fake in that respect.
Now, i have a wallet with 25000 iterations, which , with y research, makes it a very old wallet, it loads into bitcoind core fine and transactions seem to match, it also seem that no errors are thrown out and the syncing took some serious time, EVEN with a NVME raid drive that was pushing and insane amout o IOPS through that time.
so i have wallets with iterations of 71074, 140625, 25000 and 129551. All wallets check in and all wallets load error free and seem ok in bitcoin core..

so for comparison:
$bitcoin$64$7095f9031c639640d11d86c0a8597556ae8c940fb3bbda7c1cd789c3fea8dc08$16$c738f48338155e0a$67219$2$00$2$00

These seem legit but i am not sure.. any check i throw at them they seem ok..  most likely they are still fake but they seem to be VERY good fakes :D

If that pooling resource thing is still available, i have a 3080 and 2 2080s in a rig.. thinking should i mine rather ...

like that.. if you run now your hashpower (example a RTX3080-3090) to mine coins...

lets say, the wallet needs >10 Years to Crack... (then Lucky you)

But you better use your Hashpower to generate Coins for the next ~5 Years.
5Years = ~ 50.000 € and after another 5 Years (then the coins are getting more and more Value) you have roundabout 1 Million €

Time is on your side ;)

Funfact... some Ppl don't get MD5 hashes cracked from hashes.com with over 10GH/s but think to break Wallets with 15kh/s  ???

Quote
1 kH/s is 1,000 hashes per second (sometimes mistakenly written KH/s).
1 MH/s is 1,000,000 hashes per second.
1 GH/s is 1,000,000,000 hashes per second.

You are mostly right but still, it does not mean it is impossible.
Even with a very long complicated password, someone could have luck to crack it.

The sure way is mining/stalking (and don't forget about the electricity costs).
The lucky way is cracking a password ;)

Still, I am on your side because the majority of the wallets shared here are fake.

I think the PRINCE algo would work on brainwallets, but for small wallets You could also implement rules based on a standard password builds such like first Big letter->wordlist->date->special character

As of humans usually try to implement the special character at the end of their usually known and used password

I also think that most of those wallets could have russian or chinese characters its dificcult to find a good wordlist

Also this could help to build a good princeprocessor

No, you don't need Brain at all.
Brain is only required for huge database of password to test upfront if a password/hash has already been found.
It drastically slows down the process.

The idea is to use Prince to compute english words from dictionary and then hashcat to manipulate them with a rule.

The real problem is the poor performances with Prince/Hashcat.
Actually, I get average 200H/s with a gtx1080ti.... :/

Well, it is not only about the wallet being legit.
It is about the password being findable. Everything above 10 characters is already hardcore to crack.
But if you don't have some hints (charset, uppercase, lowercase aso...) then at 200H/s you'll need a lot of luck to find anything.

One of my strategies for determining fake wallet.dat files is checking bitinfocharts.com (Explorer -> Bitcoin explorer).
If you paste the address you're looking for, you may see that it's part of a multi-address wallet (green link next to "Balance").

For example, using this wallet that freude2021 talked about:
1LHjrPBeEYQv1f219VQcQ71EBpwvp3hdD5 - 8.9 BTC

Actual balance: 39.9 BTC
Addresses that should be in the wallet.dat:
Code:
1LHjrPBeEYQv1f219VQcQ71EBpwvp3hdD5
1DpoTdFLkoeUXWWXU99f1LVJYzcsxXQWV2
1PRyZn7FaDT7Nq4GCcc9oiFPdUGXDBDmnn
1HceEvVsHP9zUBF6cBVjioyBrUR5YWvveP
1142Bytv5jG9BTXvhz7HHve1yX5HsGPCLa
1M7RtACTb4RDk1d2Unm7Zd1DdMfb8vgEYy
1LUzZkdjMyN5DMSFRFScvtiuVAUwxWmEue
122Ty82HphNPCrmZ6hsMX48zYwss83EXW5
1PZMoVvTfUN2JocgtVUtgfuSZxhriqpNfq
1Fn5j5NqpfpDdAN1AJng7QVtsR3HSXx4Kd

Conclusion: fake wallet.dat (unless 1LHjrPBeEYQv1f219VQcQ71EBpwvp3hdD5  is the first address, and this is the first backup of the file - unlikely).

The other wallets, 15.9 and 75 cannot be checked, as there are not useful transactions in those wallets.
36.6, I'm not sure which one this is (not present in allprivatekeys)

Title: Re: Discussion! Don't BUY FAKE! "wallet.dat" files with lost passwords.
Post by: freude2021 on February 25, 2021, 06:20:37 AM
ok the 36.6 is actually a legit one.. address and balance checks out on blockchain.info AND on  bitinfocharts .. 2 deposits both in 2013, no movement since.. 2013 also coincides witht he 25000 iterations since back then bitcoin core used some really funky openssl rng approach.
hmm.. probably gonna let it run for a while..
the 75 seems also legit, its 2 addresses one with 25 and one with 50.. the 50 were deposited in 2009!! but there has been some activity (0.000547 btc?) in 2020..
both wallet load with no issues and both show full balance and take ages to import and open going through the transaction history

Which wallet address is this 36.6 ?
About the 75 BTC wallet, it is not really fake but it is also not really legit. If I remember well, it is a Satoshi Nakamoto Genesis Block: one of the first block ever mined by Satoshi himself... :D

Fake info + fake wallet. It is easier to sell fake wallets if you make the user believe he has a chance to crack them.
Even allprivatekeys website says this one is fake (see comment).

One Million percent ALL password Information's are fake. Lets put it this way if you had a wallet which was yours with some BTC on it that you found on your HDD from back in 2011 or when ever. Would you really sell it if you had some idea of the password or would you just keep it knowing that you will remember sort of what you used and use something like BTCRecover? Or use that guy David (whatever) I think his name is that, who will recover it using these methods for a no win no fee based on passwords known to you that you have used your whole life if you're not all that tech savvy.

I have sorted all the wallets that I think could be legit which is a possible 16 wallets and 7 wallets I am unsure of out of the 80-90 wallets I have, I also would not be surprised if they are all fake too.

Edit: I still did not hear back from the guy that owns AllPrivateKeys & Satoshidisk <-- (Scammy Site) regarding his hashes for each of his wallets. My conclusion is that they are the same Wallets going around publicly for free. He clearly marks the price high for his wallets to come across more legit but sends a FAT RED FLAG by not sharing the hash of each wallet.

I have also not heard back from MA40 to give me the other wallets to investigate, so no doubt they're all dodgy too. I do have screen shots of many of these wallets being dodgy and will post for people to see.

Conclusion ................. Do not BUY any of these wallets. I will send free to non new accounts as I have acquired more then what I originally shared.

@Antoni4eva
I agree with you that most files on allprivatekeys are the same ones that are circulating around. Some even have the same filesize for a given wallet. When the wallet sizes are different, I've noticed it's just because the seller syncs the wallets before selling them (so transaction data is added in the wallet file).
However, I don't think not sharing the whole hash is a red flag - it makes sense, I think. Because then you don't need to buy anything from him: you can try to crack all hashes first, then buy the ones you successfully cracked (yeah right :P).

Does anyone have 1LjGA75sjWsD5QQUQLYNJGcL2F4dVekv73 ?
I have a suspicion it may be real wallet, but the payout is low (0.03 BTC), so I bit reticent to spend anything on it....

Thanks, although I have this one. It's 19peh1TwMaV8AS3jsUcahyBCHEo5eymtdn and it's 100% fake.
You can check this for yourself in a hex editor (or just notepad). Search for "name" and at the first hit, data is being repeated (The fake wallet creator tried to copy/paste things around).

However, the transaction details all seem to be spot on including the "to:" field being populated correctly. Pics attached.

Figured I'd jump in here. If OP could shoot me an email with any valid wallet.dats + any hints + his/her bitcoin address I'll assist in bruteforcing them. If successful on any, I'll keep 10% (non-negotiable) and ship the remaining 90% to the bitcoin address provided.

Why wouldn't I just keep the entire balance?

Because most of my work has been done for me by OP + any wallet.dats in the future OP collects, I want first(ish) shot at it with the same arrangement.

Email: bitcoinhaxxor@gmail.com

If it's a pass from OP, no big deal. I know by this forums standards I'm a newbie still. I'd even be willing to receive one valid wallet.dat at a time and go by a wallet to wallet basis if you'd prefer.

Just want to use different tools on this wallet but I don't have it.

You can inspect the data of a wallet.dat file using BDB 4.6's db_dump tool

Hey guys I'm selling BTC original dat files for way cheaper than all these guys. I have a few but at least they are all legit.

I also designed a software that can generate random passwords up to 16 characters and that's including options of small letters, capital letters, numbers and special characters or all. Passwords can be generated up to 100 000 000 passwords but its really up to you on how many you want.

I will sell you you're desired BTC wallet and give you a Token List file of your choice.

Guys I'm more legit than any of these dudes just give me a shot.

Hey asshole why not try to crack them yourself? Well I'm freaking exhausted man, this shit drains you but if you can somehow crack one Well fucking done!!!!!

Drop me an email if you are interested.  dreamshaker001@gmail.com

Write here a list of the adresess and the bitcoin2john hash for them, we will compare the output and then proceed with more steps for an additional purchase or exchange

Hey man!  #Dreamshaker

You are no different from the people here!
It's not hard to put together a 16 or even 26 character password cracker, I can do that too and I think there are many more besides us ...
However, this amount of characters requires a minimum of 200+ rtx3090!
And wallets should not be betrayed but shared with the community for free.
But if you crack 16 characters smoothly, why sell it?
I think you're just looking for suckers like the Allprivatekey team!

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying that up  ;)

Can I have a wallet.dat file with the alleged 4000BTC? I have some spare resource to check this file for a password according to the guidelines circulating around the network. Any success in decrypting the password will result in a 50/50 split.

Can you send me the wallet.dat file? My email wangba688@gmail.com

I do not understand that a person is trying to sell? I can also sell the purse in which there really is Bitcoin. I'm ready to start the auction. The rate of 30K dollars. There are wishing to try your luck? What is my proposal is worse than what was offered here? It was a joke, but if someone wants to, I'm selling :)

Hello.
I received this hash from a client to help me regain access to their bitcoins.

For 2 weeks now, my 10 mining farms have been working on its selection.

This is the public address: 1KTvs    W5tg5gkJf9fy    T2xsvjkv7dzuZNTpW
There is a video of its launch in Bitcoin Core. I can send.

Where did you get it ??
Have you tried guessing the password?
Maybe you want to work with me on it?

I have hints from the owner.

@AMDG_SIR

Let me guess... Did you client tell you about some numbers and a nickname that they have no idea how long or what nationality it is in? haha.

My client from my country is Russia. He said that he found this wallet on the computer of his brother, who died in 2013. He never gave it to anyone and did not sell this wallet.dat.
Do you have information on this wallet? 1KTvs W5tg5gkJf9fy T2xsvjkv7dzuZNTpW

Hello To everybody,

I am new on the forum, but I know the place since very long time and I did read hundreds of posts before to finally join the site .

I did read almost all the discussion about this topic and looked  arround to aquire some non fake password protected wallet dat with some btc on it to give a try like almost everybody is doing.

I know very well that it will be a real challenge to find a password for these wallets but without one or two real wallet I will never know.
I have time and some computer I can dedicate to the password scan.

I first thinked to buy at least one wallet to wallet-dat dot net, I found two intersting wallet with no transactions since years , and like explained on this topic I did request the Hashcat hash, and one of the two wallet was in The usual suspects! list.

So this topic did already prevent me to lose 100 bucks.

Could anyone be very kind with a newbie and tell me where I can download some granted not fake wallet.dat to let me give a try ?

Two wallet with like 10 or 20 BTC on it will be more than enough and allow me to track and locate the right tools to begin the scan without losing time on a fake wallet.

Thank you
Damocles

By the way, if by some miracle i can crack a password for the wallet, what are my legal claims on the bitcoins inside it? Technically i could claim that it was my wallet all along that i had forgotten, but what if someone else who has the actual private key would make a legal claim to get them back and saw this as a hackers stealing their wallets?

So i guess what i am saying is that do the owners of these wallets even know that they are circulating around the internet?

If You crack the password You are also the owner of the pkey, the rules are simple, who has the pkey is the owner of the coins, it is Your responsibility to keep Your coins safe and not accessible by anyone but You.

Yeah, that "your keys your coins" meme would work if you live in unregulated world. "Your responsibility" only goes so far in real world. Technically you own the coins because they transactions are permisionless, but in reality, things get less black and white when you try to cash out them via regulated fiat ramp.

Because what you are basically saying that if you put your money in exchange, they own it now, because they own the keys, so you wouldn't have any legal claim for them. And that what i was talking about: Legal claim

And it wouldn't be first time that governments just confiscate your private keys, but i guess with that logic, they can and they should because strongest own the keys and there's no law protecting your keys, because it's "your responsibility".

I have 4 slots left for people that want to join the discord server, i will not accept any Newbie that only wants to download the wallets and has no skills in password cracking or has no GPU gear to use Our custom hints or wordlists.

Soo please DM me only people that are skilled in C# or Python, or have a large GPU rig to add the power to the password cracking

Great info here! This saved me from wasting many hours on empty wallets. Would love the zip file of your wallet.dat files if you are still sending them out. I have four 3090s working full time on passwords and I have already cracked a small .03 btc wallet. Would be happy to split any proceeds if I happen to crack one from your files. I would say with certainty that all these wallets are fake and not worth your electricity. You would be better to point your gpu power mining, which is what I have been doing with mine.

Hi all
Faced the problem of fake wallet.dat
I decided to tackle the problem and find a solution to this problem for myself. And it seems to me that I succeeded.
I've checked a lot of files, including from this discussion. ALL files are fake. If someone has a file and he doubts, then I can try to check.

I kindly ask you to share the real wallet.dat.
I also want to try my luck and am afraid to use a wallet.dat.
Maybe luck will smile at me. And then you too.

$bitcoin$64$7095f9031c639640d11d86c0a8597556ae8c940fb3bbda7c1cd789c3fea8dc08$16$c738f48338155e0a$67219$2$00$2$00
$bitcoin$64$c35f2dc2039ced49e0b86661b5f6edbf0326262396f4a75baea7ed02d512a055$16$7bccc0618f4c2555$140625$2$00$2$00
$bitcoin$64$5b2f6e4398004a207eea181b9db111971ab9749c19451a5f0926d1000d70b682$16$d72f084441487b68$25000$2$00$2$00
$bitcoin$64$fbb81fa5f31a282331e8ef06d849522e282bd6689174b970fd8635eff36887ca$16$d68a0ad1e3fdd725$71074$2$00$2$00

These seem legit but i am not sure.. any check i throw at them they seem ok..  most likely they are still fake but they seem to be VERY good fakes :D

If that pooling resource thing is still available, i have a 3080 and 2 2080s in a rig.. thinking should i mine rather ...

This first wallet hash you mention with 8.9 BTC below is fake, i have exactly the same hash but the amount i have in for this wallet is 5.8 BTC:
$bitcoin$64$7095f9031c639640d11d86c0a8597556ae8c940fb3bbda7c1cd789c3fea8dc08$16$c738f48338155e0a$67219$2$00$2$00
I checked all transactions of this wallet and all match correctly between the wallet 5.8 BTC and the blockchain explorer.
Did you check it also, all transactions in your side?

If something seems too good to be true it usually is. Don’t part with your hard earned money & get scammed. Nobody is going to sell a working (with password) wallet.dat to you for less than the value of the bitcoin in it, why would they.

Stay smart!

In the real world, nobody would sell or pass up a wallet that could have $10,000+ for anything less.

Yo everyone.
I have discovered all of every single wallets from wallet-dat.com after i've checked every single hashes. i have managed all of files that belongs to fake side. but for others, we surely it was real but we won't confirm yet. so here you go guys, i've leaked it.

DL: https://anonfiles.com/te5cC6z1uc/fake_wallets_reported_from_wallet-dat.com_rar/

Please look at these files to avoid these before buying, also. these hints/tips are false and telling lies too.

I also have spoken to seller and they need to sort this out for excluding them else they will have serious consequences.

There's more:

Another more suspicious wallets:

Update about seller:
Seller told me he will check it see if it's confirmed the wallet is fake or not. but i have told them to that i heard this advice from this this thread.
Here is SS of chat: https://i.imgur.com/90mWBJm.png
https://i.imgur.com/3x46GoK.png

They will sort this thing out.

Thanks for sharing with the community, there is no point wasting your time with the guy from allprivatekeys. He knows they're fake and will not stop scamming people naïve enough to pay for them. I would say with certainty that all these wallets are fake and not worth your electricity. You would be better to point your gpu power mining, which is what I have been doing with mine.

Have you found any BTC treasure yet?  ;D

Hey everyone. Recently I found a unique method to spot fake wallet.dat files.
Wallets can be faked at least in 2 ways.
1. By changing the iteration number of the hash itself (I'm still looking how to spot fake iterations. The probability that a wallet have fake iteration inserted in wallet hash is kind of low).
2. By changing public key with a key that has amount. (My method will spot this type of fake)
The method is entirely created and developed by me. I had to find it as I was searching for a wallet.dat password myself. Then I wanted to be sure that the wallet I try to crack is real. After  months of investigation, I can spot with a precise level : 99.9% fake wallets that does not have private key, or have a wrong one mapped to public key. Unfortunately there is a very big business with fake wallet.dat, that's why I will keep the method in secret. Also I don't want my method to be spotted by bad guys and somehow avoid or bypass it. I know that this sounds strange. I am not looking for new wallets, as I have 2 of them that are 100% not fake. I just want to give a hand to the guys that are working on wallet crack, and want to avoid fakes. You can add me to telegram and I will try to help you to find out if your wallet is fake.  I  would like to help, so you can test me with all kind of wallets just to be sure. Also I would like to discuss with more wallet crackers, in order to develop cracking knowledge and share our experience.

Update about seller:
Seller told me he will check it see if it's confirmed the wallet is fake or not. but i have told them to that i heard this advice from this this thread.
Here is SS of chat: https://i.imgur.com/90mWBJm.png

If something seems too good to be true it usually is. Don’t part with your hard earned money & get scammed. Nobody is going to sell a working (with password) wallet.dat to you for less than the value of the bitcoin in it, why would they.

Stay smart!

This is a wrong judgment. There are many wallets with forgotten passwords and someone is lucky to open them using dictionaries. This is a lottery and it all depends on luck and of course a lottery ticket should not be too expensive. The price of 10 dollars for 1 genuine wallet looks quite good. I checked my entire collection and found 28 genuine wallets out of 50 I have.

Hi,

I came across your thread about fake wallet.dat files. I wanted to try my luck with my GPU and I wanted to find out more. The work done during this discussion is great. I saw that before it was allowed to everyone to get real  .dat files. I wanted to ask if it was possible to provide me with these files so that I can try to brute force them.

With my best regards from Switzerland.

    all wallets are scam!
You check your wallets with pywallet tools  python pywallet -d -w wallet.dat

the nTime is modify password time,
I  buy this wallet 2017-12-30  the modify password time is 2017-12-13
password is forgot after two weeks, so the wallet.dat is scam

What tool do you use? My pywallet.y gives this error:

no such option: -d

You are wrong nTime parameter is the date when the wallet was encrypted for the first time. When you try to change the passphrase, nTime parameter does not change at all (I tried it on my wallets). It only changes when you have an unencrypted wallet and you decide to encrypt them. Only then does the nTime parameter change for the new date of encryption. If I'm wrong let me know :)

Every metadata in a wallet can be faked. Attributes like timestamp, walletinfo date creation, imported and exported addresses and so on. Everything can be faked. If you dont trust me, just add to telegram and I will send a wallet with proofs of fake.

Hello,

I'm here to try my luck to get a wallet open. Please sent me them to this address: jon18@eclipso.de

I would appreciate your work to validate the wallets as real ones with 3% of the wallet value, if I'm lucky.

Also, i have a few questions:

Do you have any experience with btc recover? I heard it is faster than hashcat
Do you have been successfull with brute forcing, or do you know someone, who managed to do that?
Has somebody calculated how the chances are to get one open (I know it's theoretically damn high but I guess if a human decides for a password, it should be brute-forceable)?
What would you do with the btc, when you can open the wallet?

No, it's a fake. Here is the evidence:

Address:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1NyEeyXu8ydNw67e3ZTUmkwQJ8QNd1o3cF

Hash:
$bitcoin$64$f3c90b573111e06ff0f96ebf32921f5f3dd10ba219f391ab0fcc1adadd3e2000$16$9809070f76fa92c4$60692$2$00$2$00

wallet.dat:
http://uploaded.net/file/scfiuxox

As you can see, the wallet was used last month. But nothing has changed on wallet.dat, because a fake can't update the transaction history.

I really don’t know why people ever fall for this. Why would anybody sell a wallet.dat containing a nice amount of bitcoin for less than its value?

The only way I can ever legitimately see somebody falling for it would be if the seller maybe couldn’t remember the passphrase & had some or most of it. The buyer could be technical enough to brute force it & see it as easy money.

I don’t understand any ofter way somebody would buy one though unless they’re totally dumb. If something seems too good to be true it is likely a scam. What use is a passphrase protected wallet.dat even if it has 5000 bitcoin in? Totally useless, please avoid.

You can't easily verify this, unless you find apparent data manipulation issues within the wallet.dat file itself or find the actual wallet encryption passphrase (very unlikely to happen).

I can't tell with certainty, but most circulating wallet.dat files for sale are fabricated and not worth any amount to pay for them. You're very very likely wasting your time with any of them. If you paid for them, it's very very likely a more or less expensive lesson.

...

There's no need to full quote a post to which you reply immediately below it. I don't know anybody who sells real wallet.dat files. And I highly doubt that any wallet.dat for sale is legit.

If you're the owner of a legit wallet.dat file with private keys that control some amount of coins and you can't access those coins because you forgot the wallet encryption passphrase. Then why sell it? Nobody sane would offer you more money for your wallet file than a reputable wallet recovery service like https://www.walletrecoveryservices.com/ (https://www.walletrecoveryservices.com/) would give you in return in case of a successful recovery. I.e. it makes more sense to try a wallet recovery than sell it for a much lower price that someone would offer you.

Stop chasing "wonder wallets", they're very likely all fake. Seller profit from gullible buyers... multiple times!
