I dont think its smart to get crypto investment advice from forums most of us here dont know what we are saying and most of the advice you will get are going to be coming from other noobs just like you.

The Best advice i have is do your own research, if you dont understand it, dont invest in it, its better to miss out than to loose your money.

Remember investments are risky, so why trust other people's opinions to making investments that they aren't making with their own money?

Be smart

Accept other people's opinions, as long as we filter it first and do your own research so you don't get stuck several times, I'm sure everyone here also starts from ignorance and becomes a professional who can sort out what is good and what is less good to invest in.

Not all opinion are bad and not all members on this forum lacks knowledge and experience too, the thing is learn from others and apply your own knowledge, some opinions can be good and there is no hurt in just reading, do some research and make your own decision, it's way better than living in others shadow cos when mistakes comes you will feel it's because you listen to others

Isn't reading posts and advice of various members here are part of the DYOR? I honestly step up forward and even improve my investment skills because I  have learned many useful advices and tools here in btt forum.

As we all know, investing always associated with "risk", it is also significant we know what we truly want. Whether to become as one of those long term investors, trader, etc. Just always keep in mind that what other's success or failures will be your fate, too. You go on your own way base on your own learnings and actions.

It is your money so your responsibility always, after investing you cannot blame anyone so the choice and decision to invest should be always your own and that should be based on careful research and analysis so if you follow all these steps and the investment still not performs it will not be your fault but usually carefully selected projects do perform well.

But majority of us knows what we're saying and don't provide information just to simply said something for rewards. That's why there are ranks here, from newbies (less experience) to legendaries (pro) and it is up to you to choose which comment would you listen to. Comments/suggestions of members here or in other forums are just a piece of advice or suggestions and only those stupid ones will use one piece of information gathered here as a basis for investment. This is how it should work actually for me;

I agree with you, because people will not be able to know what will happen to cryptocurrency market and which altcoin prices will increase very high, so rather than we follow other people's advice to invest in altcoin whose prices do not necessarily increase, then it is better if we decide for ourselves which altcoin we want to invest, so that we are more confident about investing in these altcoin and sure if the price will definitely increase very high.

Its like study brother, you need to make decision based on your own research. But you can gathering information from another research and combined it to your research.
So, its good if you want to listen to another, but dont make that thing your basic of any investment decision.

I read and follow other people views or comments to backup my own research before taking any investment measures rather than just following comments blindly, internet and this forum is awashed with a lot of resources and vital information pertaining to any crypto investment any body that wanted to embark on any investment  is just a matter of sitting down to strategize and device an investment plan and follow it judiciously and bear whatever risk that might arises from such an investment.

That's why so many people also join crypto market analysis or prediction groups. I saw some on social media. Everyone is free to look for asset references that he may not know when he starts to get bored with investing or trading assets that he often chooses.
every trader or investor has a favorite asset. When someone is bored with one asset, I think switching to another asset is one way.
the advice in crypto groups is actually very helpful. But as the OP said, the risk is greater because, with the investment that is done alone, no one will be responsible for the investment assets that we own.

It is true about researching, it is what everyone must do. But about talking in forums, you'll never know who you are talking to and if someone answers you boldly with good answer, you can prove that not everyone is what you are thinking about.

There are decent answers and suggestions that will be given to you. But as someone who asks, you don't have to take everything that they say whether it's a good answer or suggestion.

Invest in yourself and getting into IT or entertainment.. It's the only things I see having a future when the automation comes in hard over the next decade.

I think you can always consult and analyze other peoples opinion as most times it can help shorten your research time. At the end of the day, you will be investing your money so its up to you to make the final decision and use your judgment on what to invest in

But you can get insightful and meaningful suggestions from forums and that's why we're here. You only need to analyze which is good to take and which is bad that you just have to forget and ignore.

It is good to see about new people are coming into the crypto world. But what makes me sometimes sad is that they really cannot adapt to the recent situation. Because commonly the newcomers will not pay attention o the top coins or even the good news, but only the result of the investment for big profits.
I personally prefer to pick the tops coins that have strong fundamentals, it is no matter for short or long-term investment.

Investment advice should only be given by professionals although normal people, can also give their opinions based on their experiences and these opinions can only be taken as additional information for your analysis

Any kind of investment is risky and it is always better to hear the opinion but the research has to be done by you. Fully depending on others opinion will always be risky. It is your money that you are investing then you should do your own research.

It is common with newbies who have no idea about a project investing in it because an influencer shared his opinion. Avoid such situation as the influencer will never accept your loss.

One thing for sure is that any kind of investment can be risky and if one is averse with any rate of risk then it is better for him to keep his money in his own man-made vault because even in banks there can still be risks for we do not know what future can be bringing. Now, for people who are not really afraid of risks but still wants to make sure that risks can be minimal, the best thing to do is always to do own diligence. I fully agree that listening to anybody even in this forum is never the best thing to do. You must have many sources of information and make sure that your sources are reliable and not just hyping things up or have their own interest in doing so. Lastly, we should be careful and get as much luck as possible.

People won't just take this advice in a simple wording. Doing one's research is easier said than done, because you'll probably have difficult time to trust other people in the internet. Just like a newbie users here in the forum.

Invest only what you could afford to lose and also do your own research,
Don't just invest because they told you so you should also know what you are getting into and know the risk of what you arw doing or about to do.

It is fine to hear someone else suggestion because we don't know all the coin that can increase a lot in the future. With one note, we have to read all the information first and make sure that the information is right or false and can affect to the price movement.

Doing your own research is something important when we have money and have intention to buy some coins. Previously I always follow someone else signal, but yeah sometimes it got me a profit and sometime got me a huge loss. Actually you will never be satisfied when investing with other people's signals, because you will never know when your position should end, you don't know when to get out of the market.

Sometimes, we don't know how to do our own research. However you are right, crypto is risky and we must be aware of it and ready for any risks.
And, other strategies may also not fit us.
I don't say that we only use our won research. Commonly, I will collect some ways or opinions or strategies or analyses from several courses, and of course, they are the trusted and reputable ones. And gathering all data.

Yep, this is a true suggestion. We only invest in the coin that we trust that this coin to have a good future with various considerations. The team should be professional and update positive information regularly. The platform of the coin has some events in the future and seems to commit improving the price and the platform itself. And we see in the market that people are enthusiastic to buy the coin. If there is a coin like this, we can plan to buy it.

besides that, other investment advice that needs to be considered besides doing research is to try to invest according to your ability level. many people out there are in debt to achieve their target in investing and not a few of them fail and go bankrupt because the investment movement made in the project is not what they expected.

I dont see taking advise as a bad thing but when it comes to Investment advice and cryptocurrency Investing in particular, I would suggest listen but make sure you confirm that investment advice before execution. There might still be people with the knowledge that will be putting out advice on what to do with regards to investment and they might mean well for you but if you don't consider it, you might also miss out though that is what you think should happen instead of losing. But seeking advice is because you don't know and if you find one, I suggest you confirm it before following through.   

Do your onw research is the best thing you can do in 2021 bull market. You will get many investment advices and trade signals but do not follow them unless you have yourself did some research. Many times people do paid advertisements or trap you in pump dump groups, don't let them scam your hard earned money.

Change of the year from 2020 to 2021 does not mean that investment advice will change, the basic ones remain same. The short term thoughts on making profit might change depending on how the world economics and politics change.

You could do a lot of research but still focusing on altcoins is wrong. Because altcoins are never going to become next to bitcoin. Better to focus your attention to projects that dont produce an altcoin but still provide a service like an Exchange or a Casino two of the services that are paramount in spending crypto.

Even then dont overlook the non-crypto that is fiat markets. Often you will need to diversify assets into the fiat markets in order to maintain a balance in your portfolio.

It is not even wise to follow what you just read, so the best favor you can do for yourself before investing is to DYOR. Most people would advise you to invest in this coin, this coin will be worth investing in long-term, etc. Take note that most people advise to buy a certain altcoin ecause they are holding it, so it is more on shilling not an advice. Just stick to the basic before investing, your time invested in doing your homework before investing will be worth it, than just following other people's advice.

However, this research also includes the collection of opinions from people who are in this field before you, or more precisely the people in this forum (as you said, we need to judge who are newbie and who are more experienced in the crypto world). I think this forum is one of the biggest places where you can get an opinion on this topic, so the questions are not such a "stupid" idea.

I agree with @op 100 percent, this is the same thing I always tell people, it's better to do your own research than act on the opinion of other people, I've made this mistake a couple of times and it cost me much money which I don't know if I would ever recover, I have some shitcoins I bought because people on some forums were advicing me to buy it cus they think it will do well on the market, today, I can't even sell those coins cus no one is interested in buying, and the project itself is abadoned and dead.
I've really leant my lesson never to follow the opinion of other people when making investments decisions.

to learn to analyze coin price movements, and rely on the results of other people's analysis which are not necessarily accurate. Therefore,
I have encountered a lot of topics that ask about crypto trading groups, in order to get signals from other people. Even though this only makes us
lose more money, because now there are so many crypto trading groups that are scam. It is not forbidden to listen to other people's advice,

That is why we have this forum to collect ideas from others but base on your statement, you are disclosing others to speak up and just ignore them. We need to become open-minded and we need to listen to others that are very important, and it's up to you to consider his/her opinion or not but not in a way that you are ignoring them and saying you are good at this and they are not.

Doing your own research and analyzing based on technical analysis are both important things and must be applied when you are interested in investing in the cryptocurrency market. with a high enough risk that is why many people here are giving their opinion. although completely you don't need to choose because now there are so many altcoins that have good beliefs. you should get along with project that you plan to invest in, and then analyze best picks, and invest in those that you do understand, think that they have some real-world use case and could be a good pick to support your crypto portfolio, otherwise it is just gambling, not investment, and you will need luck, not advise

Don't be greedy
Take profit once in a while, if you see 30% - 50% it's already a good return.
Don't put everything into one investment spreading your money will save you a one-time loss.

When you are doing your research, you need references. There are no better place than this forum to get individual and conflicting opinions about projects and coins. Most of the coin's individual pages and even their reddit subforum is biased towards the particular coin. Get things from news and rating sites, most of the posts talking about or rating a coin are paid entry. There are no such neutral venue for crypto discussion than bitcointalk forum.

This is probably the best recommendation I would give any new trader in the alt coin market. There is a lot of more risks involved in trading alt coins than just with holding bitcoins.

Doing your own research is definitely key in finding good opportunities and avoiding investing into bad ones. But without recommendations it is very hard to start your search for opportunities. 

In my opinion it is alright to listen to recommendations here on the forum as long as we don't take everything on face value.

the forum users are actually a good community to ask because they are already in crypto for years. they've heard everything here from scams to legit projects that turned scam. there is no other qualified community that will give you advice in crypto but the bitcointalk community. most of the advice you get if not so sure about investing in crypto is just buy BTC and hold.

i dont think this was the best investment advice for 2021 because we are now in 2021 and most of the forum users in here are already not noobs anymore so they atleast gained experience in trading or anything related to crypto and they know what they are talking about so why would you not believe on them ? you are in the right forum to get info in regards to crypto matters than you will get info in a non crypto forum but it wasnt all about the rank that you see because even a newbie rank user can sometimes search for info before he post a comment .

It's not that easy for you to choose an asset, I see it more at gambling if you choose an investment asset in that way.

the best investment this year seems to be BNB. many projects are interested in the new features that Binance is launching. the use of the current BSC has succeeded in attracting the market to continue growing the value of BNB.

I'd rather have to stick where I am comfortable with and stop wasting our time searching for a new one. DYOR, we simply do that before and when we finally found it, that will say enough but some never get it, they are too greedy and they keep looking where they can find satisfaction. And this might it leads to nothing.

Once you get an advice to others it will be optional if you use it or not. Making your own research is really helpful for us because you will decide on your own but remember without the helps of the others people you don't have any idea of what you do. Beginners is mostly relying to the old crypto investors or user because they need us and I hope once we give them an information or advice make sure it's correct.

You should consider IDO projects on decentralized exchanges as this will be a low-risk and quick way to get rich. Or only own tokens of these exchanges because normally those who want to participate in IDO are required to own staking tokens to join IDO. So these tokens will increase in price over time if more people want to join IDO. For example DUCK (DUCK DAO), GUM (GoumetGalaxy) ...

There are some methods which we must follow if we don't follow this rule, that means we will lose our money in the near future. Experiences and knowledge are both of them, which we should always improve. Everybody has own opinion, as you mentioned we should make own research, don't rely on anybody, maybe he is wrong about his prediction. l prefer dividing my money by investing, like 50/50, or sometimes it can be more than these numbers. Mostly l invest in top altcoins, for that l would say top altcoins are the best choices. There can be also other projects which have also chance to be the best in the future. But as above mentioned do own research and find them.

Picking the right coin will only happen if you apply DYOR.

You'll normally see people asking which is the best coin to invest and they think that it's a good shortcut but no hey. You can make a lot of profit if you invest at the good coins during their early days.

And also when you have good amount for capital to start with.

When it comes to investment strategies everything should always be taken with a grain of salt, I don't think there is anything wrong with asking for information here in the forum, however what is completely wrong is to follow blindly any advice or information that you receive, you need to do your own due diligence because there are many strategies that on the surface make sense but when you actually take the time to test them against the markets you find out that those strategies are losers over the long term and you do not want that to happen to you when you are using real money.

i agree with you . but sometimes we need some advice and techniques from experts, although risky but learning from crypto experts also help. as you research, guidance and their knowledge also helpful in gaining profit. you have point in your advice, very risky because money involve in this crypto world.

Personally, I think in order to give good advice on investment projects, you need to have a lot of experience in this matter. And I believe that a person himself should study and understand in investment projects. I guess the OP's opinion has also some sort of reality but i do agree with you mate that at some point there also some information that we may acquire from the opinion or based on the experiences of our co-traders that was been shared here in forum that we can't acquire just by doing our own research. To be honest, i did my own research too before i will going to invest in such altcoin that i think would be worth to invest but i did also read opinions and advices from our fellow here for additional info.

It's not always just DYOR, sometimes we also need help from other members. Better, most of the time.

I think i found the gem and put my small money in to it, now i just wait untill the project done, XSL Labs will have their native token and it is all about data management, it will solve data privacy in this internet space. And the team also very legit.

Be knowledgable enough with all of your actions ans decisions. Always double ay maybe triple check all of the factors before buying/trading/investing a token and lastly always have some credible and efficient reference before doing something.

Its good thing you let them go because that kind of groups are nonsense and don't have real information, all they have to do is having a pump and dump to the coin that they like, once you will fall on their trap and left behind with their broadcast as the announcement of bull trend and then, sell. You will I guess end up wiping your initial capital.

I think choosing the top 10 altcoins for investment is the safest and most profitable thing in 2021. Several altcoins such as ETH, ADA, DOT, UNI, BNB
and LTC have increased drastically this year. With the excellent performance of all the altcoins that I have mentioned, there is no need to hesitate
to buy all these coins. I am sure that HODL coins that are included in the top 10 altcoins can provide profit in the short and long term.

there is a lot of crypto projects out there that you dont know how they operate or what they are made to tackle especially in the top50 in coinmarketcap.
everyday week i try to learn something new about these crypto-currency's.
Personally i watch coin Bureau youtube videos to learn about some of these interesting projects but still sometimes those currency's make it so difficult to understand. there is not a lot of people out there who knows everything about crypto and knows how to explain the complex matters thats why we only learn about new currency's only after it skyrockets.

There is an opinion that in order to achieve success it is necessary to listen to all kinds of opinions and do it in your own way. Each has its own strategy and its own rules for selling or buying profitable assets. I think that if a person decides to become a participant in the crypto market, then he should learn to make his own choice, make decisions.

I agree a little with what you said, because indeed every decision we take will certainly be our own responsibility, but it's not wrong that we ask or listen to suggestions from other people to strengthen the decisions we make and of course we can sort out which suggestions are useful or not at all, because basically someone's knowledge is different so the more suggestions there will certainly strengthen the decisions we will make later because in the end every decision is in our own hands.

for now in my opinion the best investments are in bittoren, aurora and cardano. I am interested in investing in Aurora because the price of aurora is currently very low, and aurora has hit a fairly high price in July last year. I hope that July 2021 the aurora price will return high

I saw aurora almost like Dogecoin. seeing the very cheap price, of course, can get the pump but waiting for such a good moment will be very long.
therefore the aurora will be good for your long term. because until now there has been no good movement or signal from the aurora market.

Advices are not always holy grail to success, you also need to do your due diligence. What Advices does is to like give you some area of concentration so you can make make research and then conclude on what you will do. One can not say every opinion is bad sometimes its useful too as well but it should be used wisely. Honestly, advice is redundant here, because most of us entering this market are eager to seek profits from it, but people are not prepared with knowledge, psychology, finance to join it. Agree, with this statement because more often than not investors are victims of hype and the FOMO that is created by fake members in telegram groups and some paid articles which will make the reader feel like he might be missing a huge opportunity.

Better to buy a token at 10 cents after the sale is over, which was 5 cents during the sale. It at least allows you to see how the team is performing after the sale and if there is work being done or they were just interested in raising money.

Some of the sales have a very simple formula - Raise money --> Pay a small exchange to list their token --> Once listed, market is dumped by bounty or investors. They will then repeat the same with another project under a new name.

The point is that we don't always need advice, selflearning is the best thing for ourselves, but getting information requires a strong lead, and with what i understand from Those people are that they are very good at judging, and that's because they succeed. Suppose if you are better than i at evaluating a number of projects, there is no reason why i would be wise to follow and listen to your opinion.

Learning is key but until you do you need to stay away form the markets, there are many people that say that they will do both at the same time and for the most part it never ends well, they either never take the time to actually learn anything and decide that they can trade the markets without the necessary knowledge or they learn so slowly that by the time they have learned anything significant they have lost so much money that their current level of knowledge about the markets becomes irrelevant.

I think it is going to be not that simple. Bitcoin is still the best advice anyone can give in bitcoin world, but that doesn't mean that it is the only advice, there are still other coins out there that could make money as well. Think about it this way, when bitcoin is making a profit, it can go up to a level, it always has a price to go up to and it could go up more and more, but it gets slower, going from 10k to 20k is 2x and that is great, going from 30k to 60k was harder but still it is great, but going from 60k to 120k will not be that easy, and what about 120k to 240k?

Those prices will happen, bitcoin will one day be 240k, but its not that easy. Whereas some other smaller coin going 10x is easier, look at BNB for example, it was 25-30 dollars just 3-4 months ago and now it is nearly 300 dollars, it did a 10x in that short period of time. Hence I do not think that altcoins are a bad investment if you pick the right one.

And I'd like to add some of the advice you are going to get here are from whales or bag holders who will shill their coin so they can unload their bags to newbies, so check the coin or token that is being shilled if they have a potential or not and on the way to become a shitcoin, always do your own research and make your criteria reliable.

actually what you say can be something that can be used but not all can also take advantage of what you say because all will have different perceptions.

advice is always needed but we do not have to use it because it may not suit our circumstances. I strongly agree that we have to learn independently to determine each step that we will take because this will familiarize us with what we will do later.

All opinions will be a lot when asked to everyone and we are sometimes confused by what is being informed which may not be appropriate but sometimes what we ignore is very decisive, all of that we can do because we are used to properly analyzing everything we receive.

Yes you’re right about that, but there are still some kind of questions that you can ask on the forum and seek for their opinions, but it shouldn’t be in everything. When it comes to investment, it’s better to do real research and if you want you can also ask questions , that’s if you’re ready to go through the comments and look for honest opinions that are coming from old members of the forum and not just some newbie accounts without any experience.

Besides the golden rule of "Do you own research", don't believe that much in Youtubers. I mean not all of them are just hyping a project but for me, it's more useful to do your research in Crypto forums like here and Reddit. There is valuable information you can check out on those sites. It was on these websites that I research most of my portfolio right now like CHZ, ADA, OMI, ANRX. Nothing can beat the just your won research technique. Many people came here and start asking which coin to invest. I am always against this behavior. Invest after making your own very good research of project, you will either win or at least learn.

Yeah I think Google sometimes can even give you more misleading answers,,, but it does depend on the sources you decide to click on and read (and sometimes at the top are paid responses that do not mean anything good).

Forum answers can be helpful if you post in the right thread AND the right people answer but in general, opinions here are amateur and/or paid:)

Right now that seems the more viable option but it does not take long before it changes. I mean there are times in the market when investing in fresh coins is more profitable as compared to investing in old coins. Because there was a gigantic bull run experienced by the bitcoin market, everyone other decent crypto also got pumped but that might not happen every time because I suspect from here on, we won't see the big price hikes in bitcoins. It should be a slow and gradual rise in pricing and the altcoin market doesn't benefit too much when price of bitcoin rises slowly.

Taking and giving suggestions is fine I guess but the decision to invest and trade any coins should be based on our own research and analysis. People get influenced by others' advice very quickly especially if the person is famous like Elon Musk. There seems no reason why everyone is buying dogecoin speaking technically but because a big personality tweeted in its favor, everyone is jumping in without actually having a valid reason to invest.

Exactly. There are a lot of varied answers here in the forum. Some came from the legends who have gained lot of personal experiences and some came from newbies who are still in the process of learning. Even if we can say their answers are reliable, but in the end we still have to weigh things out. It is only from our own research and experience that we can conclude  this one will surely works.

Do your own research is not really a 2021 advice, it is a timeless one so I do not think it works. You can't just come in here and tell something that everyone has always said for decades and even centuries about investment and think that it would get positive replies. This is like "do not smoke" or "do not drink and drive", it is a common thing, and yet people still do it anyway.

There are much better advises, like how "if you are getting into a defi project, check the contract and document to see if it was copied from something else" type of deal, because this is actually a good and important thing and you may not really see that if nobody warned you against it. Find advises like that, which hasn't been shared like crazy in the recent years like a million times, they would mean a lot more to people and that is what you should advice them or at least not give any advice if you do not have that.

Yup,,, which is why I always think advice should be unique to crypto but on the other hand, you are going to be surprised that a lot of people do not know the most basic things that work for money and investment (not just for crypto).

You should not blindly trust everything that is said on the Internet, even if you think that here you will be given the most important recommendations.

Most of the advice I get is complete nonsense, general phrases. Because if you are a retail trader, there is no single plan for how to make all the money in the world. No one would ever tell you about it. Only with the help of your own experience, through mistakes, you can get such knowledge.  ::)

I think the most important piece of advice I have to give people is to get people out of their positions in time. They must understand that nothing can grow/fall forever, they will surely fall after growth.

Hi buddy, your thinking is so shallow that you underestimate the abilities of others. There are very many users in this forum who are experienced in the investment field, and I learned a lot from them how to invest in a good and safe way. For me advice from others be very important, then I will do my research, only then will I make decision.

The market is just a huge hype, a lot of people come to this area, which means that more and more people are going to create their projects here.

A large number of projects of which are scam projects and after a while just disappear, so, dear forumchane carefully read the information about the project and make your own analysis of the project before investing money in them!

In any investment venue once scammers see opportunities they will grab it, they won't waste their time not to

participate and create their own project in hope to get some interest and runaway investors money.




Very important to make your own research, assess and observe never to blindly invest without doing your DYOR better to take time and not to rush things up, you'll  less become victim by scammers if you are done doing it all before deciding your next step.
