This is not new about free wallet, you know it is a custodial wallet, you do not have complete control over your coins including doge. They can block your account anytime they want. Many people have this complain in the past, it is not new, this is the reason not to use freewallet, it is not also good to use custodial wallet if you want to have complete control over your coins. Use noncustodial wallet also to be able to avoid this type of complain by having complete control over your coins.

No dude it doesn't help, you just put an empty reassurance that OP will have the same fate as your friend. Also, OP should've migrated your DOGE on a safer wallet because this online wallets are a hideous thing to happen in the history of cryptocurrency, your coins aren't safe there in the first place.

Ugh... Their next victim...
Sad to see people are still falling for their trap.

They have a long history of selectively "closing" high-value accounts because they were flagged. They refuse to give any comment as to which algorithm they use for flagging accounts, and they ask over-the-top ridiculous things in order to unlock your own money. This includes, but is not limited to  providing screenshots from incoming transactions, proving where your money comes from, photo or videochat, paying for notarised translations of private documents and  providing your social media account (https://support.freewallet.org/support/solutions/articles/9000184127-how-to-pass-kyc-procedure-).

Their modus operandi seems very similar everytime:
  • they block a high value account
  • they refuse to say why
  • they ask ridiculous, over the top KYC questions
  • they are slow and repeat the same questions over and over, sometimes stretching the process for months
  • they hope their victim loses interest in the matter, so they can keep the money (this is just my feeling)

The only thing that SOMETIMES seems to speed up the process/solves something is making a lot of noise... They seem to be sensitive to negative publicity in some way... Post on bitcointalk, PM them the link to your post (they are active on bitcointalk and will probably jump in this thread sooner or later), post on facebook, post on twitter, make blog posts about them, rate them negatively in the appstore, get a lawyer,... The more noise you make, the higher the chance of getting your issue solved, or at least, that's what it looks like for somebody who has seen dozens of these threads accusing them of theft.

The best example of noise is what they did to Elon Musk: the selectively closed his account, but he only had to tweet about it once to get it solved... Why? Because having Elon Musk tweet something bad about you is bad publicity. Bad publicity = less users. Less users = less accounts to selectively close. Less accounts to selectively close : less income.

Why am I not surprised  ::)
Freewallet are at it again, I see. Don’t stop until you get the money back OP. Post every single correspondence you have with them here. This has happened so many times & continues to happen. Freewallet owners should be in prison, I hate to think how much money they’ve scammed through selective KYC scamming.

This is their forum (here) rep - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1177176

Maybe you could see if he’ll help.

They're famous for such scheme, they will ask you lots of documents later when they feel to respond your tons of messages. And will only respond after days/weeks, some here got resolved after months of following their issue. That's how they're good.

You or your team should do more research on website/service/software you want to use in regards to secure your funds. About freewallet, I guess you should google how elon musk's statement/tweet towards their service after using their service.

The good point: There is even 1% hope that you will succeed in getting your money back, in some cases it has succeeded.
The bad point: You are in the weakest position now, and you will have to fight to get your coins, so be prepared to be asked: verification of identity, source of funds, your addresses, your personal data and even tax reports.

Generally it will be a long process. Don't stop asking

I first saw the issue about freewallet is on this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5316100.msg56315607#msg56315607) about Elon Musk asking in Twitter to unlock his account which they did maybe he was one of the lucky ones as any wrong actions did by their team/wallet will reflect badly on their reputation with just one tweet away, I didn't know that they will continue locking out or freezing accounts after the close call they had from Elon Musk he even warned them that we must avoid any kind of wallets that don't give out private keys.

There are lots of bad reports about this wallet in this forum. So many reports have been discussed here and their profiles have been tagged, yet users like you fall into their trap. Which is very frustrating, you lose your hard earned money like this way.
I think you have very little chance of getting this money back. Even then, you should continue to try to recover this money.
