Title: Bitcoin Watches
Post by: SatsLife on July 21, 2021, 10:09:39 AM
If you are like me and like watches here are some Bitcoin watches that have been made over the years. If you know of any bitcoin watches made that are not listed below please feel free to share.

2014 CRYPTOMAT
https://i.imgur.com/x6myZiMl.png

Bitcoin watches have been around since Cryptomatic launched in 2014.  Every other watch company likes to boast that they are the "first" to accept Bitcoin for a bitcoin watch, however I am unaware of a Bitcoin designed watch selling for Bitcoin before the series 1 Cryptomat in which 200 were made. Also, they are still in business today making beautiful watches. Check em out.. https://cryptomatic.io/

2018 Mr Crypto Watches
https://i.imgur.com/cwnAzofl.jpg

Launched in 2018, Mr Crypto Watches has made a name for themselves. Most recently auctioning off their Satoshi #1 S for over $3k on Scarce.City. https://scarce.city/auctions/MCW-Satoshi-1-S   Check them out at https://www.mrcryptowatches.com/

2019 HUBLOT BIG BANG MECA-10 P2P
https://i.imgur.com/HrdRuVCl.jpg

Announced in 2018, but released on January 3rd, 2019 on the 10th Anniversary of Bitcoin was the Hublot BIG BANG MECA-10 P2P. 210 watches were made and they sold through OSL brokerage in Hong Kong. They were priced at $25k and only payable in Bitcoin. Somewhere in the 6-7 Bitcoin range at the time. This was the first time that Hublot accepted Bitcoin for their product. I like that the number 10 is the only number shown on the dial, representing 10 years of bitcoin.

CHRONOSWISS
https://i.imgur.com/dR33q6zl.jpg

Chronoswiss also announced their Bitcoin & Blockchain inspired collection in 2018. Thank you 2017 bull market for all of these watch makers. Here is their original announcement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tS2XO9wRrq8
They are for sale around $9700. They also have other crypto coin inspired watches but you can check them out on their website... https://blockchainseries.ch/ch_en/collection/

2019 FRANK MULLER ENCRYPTO
https://i.imgur.com/IIW0txcl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/HgDq1N3l.jpg

In May 2019, famed watch maker Franck Muller announced ENCRYPTO, the first functional bitcoin watch that doubles as a cold storage wallet. The dial itself was designed using the QR code of Satoshi's Genesis Block address. Each timepiece comes as a two piece "Deep Cold Storage" set, with its own unique public address etched on the dial and a sealed USB containing the private key. Users can add their Bitcoin to their wallet or check their balance directly through the dial.  There were a maximum 500 made. They now have a ton of bitcoin designed watches on their website.... https://franckmullerencrypto.com/

2018 MASTERBLOCK
https://i.imgur.com/lbgaWqO.png

Masterblock released their watch in November 2018. Comes with a cryptolex certificate that's supposed to make it "unfalsifiable". Something new that other watch companies have not done before tho is make a game for the owners of their product. They created a game in which each owner received a clue and they could only figure out the code if 51% of the watch owners came together. Not sure entirely how the process works, but cool idea! They made 2010 watches/serial numbers, starting from 0000 and going to 2009. https://www.masterblock.ch/

https://www.masterblock.ch/secret.php   "Each MASTERBLOCK timepiece conceals a secret that is a cryptographic enigma.
The network of privileged holders of the MASTERBLOCK will have the power to discover the 'Great Secret of the MASTERBLOCK.'
To do so, at least 51% of MASTERBLOCK holders will have to come together in order to collect the maximum number of clues to discover the Great Secret of the Masterblock"

Birth of a BLOCKWATCH— The most decentralized timepiece known to man, The Bitcoin Watch™

Time = Money | Bitcoin = Money | Bitcoin = Time

1.) Turn on your digital wallet 2.) Tune in to Bitcoin 3.) Drop out of fiat. Once you have taken these three steps, the next progression is to monitor the Bitcoin timechain. Each time a block is stacked, we inch one tick closer to radical financial revolution.

Why do we need a financial revolution? The omnipotent state circulates unsound money, and we the people simply prefer sound money. Over are the days of central banks and inflationary fiat currency systems. Nothing can and nothing will break the chain. Now is the time of Bitcoiners and freedom loving human beings. It's COINERTIME.

An in-house mint encryption system enables us to confirm each BLOCKWATCH’s authenticity.

Three “faces” to toggle:

1. BTC Blockheight

2. “Moscow Time” = SATS/$1.00USD

3. Public Wallet QR

Normaly the only loaded watch there is the HODLSMITH because there is a 1BTC CAS coin on, The Franck Muller one is like a wallet linked to an opendime(You can send your own wallet btw), Hublot was for 10 years of bitcoin and not loaded.

You deserve some more merit for this ( I barely have any myself or I would have given you more FYI ).  Awesome job putting this together.  I have come across all of these at some point in time and thought about putting something like this together but never got around to it, so glad that you did!  There are some really cool watches here.  I think I've seen one or two others that aren't on this list so I will try and find those and post here.

Hey Steeley!

SatsLife, thanks for the great thread! We hadn't seen all these pieces yet ourselves ;) Very cool unique part of bitcoin history.

Steeley, each Hodlsmith piece is customized, so it depends on what the buyer ideally would like, but a rough estimate for a basic Hodlsmith piece is ~0.3 BTC (without a coin loaded). Physical coins can be loaded by the buyer themself (though we recommend having a watch expert do it for you).

Shoot us a DM or email contact@hodlsmith.com if you want to discuss the Hodlsmith possibilities ;)

I am an original owner of Black cryptomat watch ( 2014 ).
Never saw them for sell after they were sold out.
Is it any secondary market for those? What would be the price.
I might interested in offers.Perfect condition.Owner of my company knows me and can verify authenticity.

That HODLSMITH watch is awesome.  I'm not a watch guy but I must say that is one of the prettier things I've seen in the crypto market.  It's easy to see why it's your favorite.  The coin alone in it is worth nearly half a million dollars now.  That has to make it one of the more expensive watches on the planet.  Not to mention the cool factor.  I couldn't imagine actually wearing so much value around on your wrist, but I guess if you have the money to spend on a flex piece like that, you probably have a security detail following you around making sure nothing crazy happens.  I wonder what the stories are from people who have purchased and owned that watch.  Seems like purchasing it when it came out could have been a life changing exchange.

Is there interest here in principle in this great collector's item?

If so and I get some feedback I could otherwise also like to set an auction for it.

Congrats! A beautiful time piece and showcase. The previous Hublot did quite well in the secondary market. iirc I saw asking prices from $125k-$190k. Not bad for a $25k MSRP.  Would love to see this in an auction, albeit a bit out of my range.

Thank you!
But the first version of the Bitcoin Hublot (414.CI.5190.VR.XBT18) could be paid for exclusively in Bitcoin, and the price has also increased decently since then :)
I find it a little unfortunate that the current Ledger version can only be paid in FIAT. That would have been much more charming in BTC

Jacob and Co. came out with a new mechanical / moving bitcoin watch. This company is known for their very intricate watches with moving parts. Links and pictures can be found below. Probably my favorite bitcoin watch so far, though there’s a lot of cool watches out there as can be seen here in this list.

Wow...  That's an amazing watch.  Between that and the Hodlsmith watches, I really wish I wore a watch so I could consider buying one of them.  You've got to contact the holdsmith maker in order to even discuss a quote, so I have no idea how much they would actually cost, but if you're a watch guy I guess it doesn't matter, as I know they can get very expensive.

I love the sun/moon/rocket in the watch quoted above.  Even the GPU fan...  You can tell that was commissioned by someone who's been in the game a while.  I love it.  Wish it was affordable, but looking at it I know I don't even have to ask the price to know it's out of my balllpark.

I also think it doesn't belong to this list [the watch itself, doesn't have anything to do with BTCitcoin], and based on the banner that's "appearing at the top (https://archive.ph/ohttg#selection-279.20-279.93)" of all of their pages, the limited edition watch in question isn't the only watch users can buy with their cryptocurrencies.

That Jacob and co watch is just STUNNING!  It represents the whole environment so well.  I just HAD to know the price of this beauty.  So I reached out to them, and once it is released at the end of June/July, it will be a whooping 438480 $Cad.  I think i'm still in awe... just disapointed that I will never be able to afford it.  though, I wonder if I would have the courage to wear that in public.  lol

Omg, these look like a lot of fun! Website gives off scammy vibes, though, but I guess I am just oversensitive? - So Blockwatch V1 was a thing, does anyone have it and can tell us more?

Is there any more info on te V2 thing somewhere? I am seriously intruiged.
Mining with a solarwatch, probably in the Megahash-range, hahaha, but such a funny gadget if it works.

MM, well you are a great sales person, I just ordered one as well.  I honestly think I probably make more Sats playing THNDR games at work then I will mining with this, but it's a cool concept for sure!  Thanks!!!

affordable watch maker...
~Snipped~
Found an affordable manufacturer [HS ENTERPRISES# (not limited to watches)] from India, but it doesn't seem to have an official website, so I'm not sure if it should be listed or not:

  • BITCOIN Wrist Watch For Men With Day & Date Indicator (https://www.meesho.com/bitcoin-wrist-watch-for-men-with-day-date-indicator/p/hlcz9?_ms=2) [for other Bitcoin-themed watches, click the remaining similar products]

While I was searching for the above thing, I stumbled upon an unknown Bitcoin watch and I was wondering if any of you might have any details about the maker in question [it's the guy "in the background (https://youtu.be/qaCFX0yGejU?t=179)"]: Anyone saw this Bitcoin wrist watch elsewhere? (https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/tfkp15/anyone_saw_this_bitcoin_wrist_watch_elsewhere/)
- BTW, I've already checked all of the images from the pinned message on Youtube but had no luck (for some reason, none of the videos work on my end).

I liked their first version but was not able to obtain one - I did put a deposit down for one of the V2 "blockwatch 256"

https://node.fun/
Omg, these look like a lot of fun! Website gives off scammy vibes, though, but I guess I am just oversensitive? - So Blockwatch V1 was a thing, does anyone have it and can tell us more?

Is there any more info on te V2 thing somewhere? I am seriously intruiged.
Mining with a solarwatch, probably in the Megahash-range, hahaha, but such a funny gadget if it works.

ha! I have made about 5k sats so far with THNDR games which is fine, I waste time in lines playing solitaire as it was - so now I get some sats for doing so.

I just wanted to give an update on the Blockwatch 256

https://node.fun/

I mentioned before, but I did put in a deposit on one of the watches.  However, I had my doubts that it was a viable project, so I reached out via the phone number listed on the website.  I left a voicemail and was pleasantly surprised by a call back this morning.

I spoke directly with the CEO of the company and was impressed by the details he shared.  It definitely sounds like a legitimate project, and while the watch is mining capable, it is more to support the overall network then being designed for profitability.  He is the original designer of the Blockwatch V1, so he has provided a successful product launch in the past.

There are a few more details, and I invited him to post on this forum the details remaining (as I would definitely misinterpret the details).

In any case, I am happy to be supporting the project at this point.

Thanks!

Mark

Thanks Mark for the kind words and for supporting the project! I am the other co-founder of Node and Blockwatch that you didn't speak to but I was told about this thread.

We did indeed build the OG Blockwatch, but they are sold out. This thread seems to really like luxury so wanted to show this 18K gold case OG Blockwatch https://scarce.city/auctions/blockwatch-gold

Our new product that's shown at https://node.fun/ is THE Bitcoin Watch that will be equipped with ASIC chip(s) to generate sats but more importantly have payment functions with Lightning. All powered by a solar watchband.

It's not an apple watch, it's not a Rolex, it's not a Fitbit. We're calling it Post-tech-- for those who value purpose and function in a new, exciting technology.

Again, shoutout to MMLLC and Mark! Just made a preorder, this thing looks crazy and finally is a subtle but strong way to show off my Bitcoin-nerdiness.
Just imagine, a friendly meeting with some random unexpecting collegues. One asks about your "curious looking watch". And bammm: You go off on a rant about how this things supports the Bitcoin network, has ASICs inside, allows lightning transactions....  ;D

@k33lin: Welcome to the forum! Would love to see some updates from time to time.
And: Any ETA yet?

Thank you! That's exactly what happens when we and others wear the v1 ! It's a conversation piece.

I will keep that in mind that there is interest on this forum for updates. You should see real prototype images released in the coming few months.
Will keep you all posted.

While we are at it... the solar wristband sounds like an obvious and fun way to get some energy into the watch (and power the asics - lol). - However I would be a little concerned for two reasons:
a) durability - is it really possible to make this thing able to last unless you just keep it locked away? Solar panels are not the most stable things I know.
b) Usually even for a tiny bit of energy you need quite the area of solar panels - can you even get enough out of this one to make any difference?
I really wish this works - but yeah, can't help but wonder. :D

Hey welcome to the forum! Think we might have met at the last btc conference in miami. I should have grabbed a watch at your booth then. Cant wait to see the V2 functionality. Keep up the great work!

How many of the V1s are there exactly? and what was the price point when originally sold?

Thanks. SatsLife

Very prudent concerns. Durability will indeed be tested by us throughout the manufacturing process to ensure the watch can provide long lasting enjoyment. I actually ran QC for a sourcing firm in China when I worked there and will utilize those same techniques and processes for our upcoming watch. In any case we know solar power has been used on watches for decades and used frequently on even tougher watches like g - shock etc. Here's a link https://blog.watchdoctor.biz/2018/01/06/solar-powered-watches/

As for the amount of energy: We don't have all the answers at this point. However the initial numbers seem to add up. Prototyping and testing will be the next step for us to get hard data.
We are working on something new that pushes to the edge and which some people might not think is possible, but that's what we're building in the Bitcoin space for. This is where it's ALL happening. As elon musk said once in an interview "It[technology] only gets better if smart people work like crazy to make it better. That's how any technology actually gets better. And by itself technology...if people don't work on it, it actually will decline."

Thanks! We absolutely love the conferences to get the chance to talk with folks like yourself. Hoping to see you again at the next one.

There are 139 OG BLOCKWATCH units in circulation that were laser engraved with blockheight of manufacture and unit # for what we called the "Genesis Series". Each one was assembled by us, by hand in a garage.

We actually auctioned off a lot of them on scarce.city for sats, with the price usually higher on earlier unit number watches

Averaged around $1k for each watch at the time of sale (a lot were sold in BTC).

well so much for saying it is not a scam eh? took everyone's cash and now state - we are no longer doing this - oh thanks for your cash - here, have a tshirt.

I used my wifes cc so just initiated a charge back - used the message above and their recent email to show they promised a product, took everyone's money and then said sorry we are not doing it.

especially that cheeky ass comment "The components and consumer market are not ready for our reality bending device" making it sound like they could do it but meh fuck it, the world isnt ready for this awesomeness.

For what it's worth, you can create your own version [with a personal touch] of Blockwatch V1 while also saving some money in the process... From what I can see, they were using the "Watchy E-Paper Smartwatch kit (https://watchy.sqfmi.com/) [by SQFMI]". It's open-source by design [HW and SW], so if you know how to code or you're willing to learn, then it could be the next best thing:

  • Note: I prefer not to vouch, but you can get the above kit for "$59 (https://shop.sqfmi.com/products/watchy)".
  • Watchy: The 50$ e-Ink Smartwatch Unboxing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32zqAwO_Y48)

I’m not a watch guy (thankfully or else I would probably be broke) but I am an open source project guy and this seems like a cool one. I wonder what sort of things this watch could be coded to tell you. Anything probably… Great find.

That looks really stylish actually and on the case back it is stamped Limited Edition
of 100 copies.

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/06/23/HOfbc.jpeg

https://talkimg.com/images/2023/06/23/HOJSP.jpeg

The description is a bit vague and possibly conflicting, the movement is stated as Seiko
but which type? is the movement it uses reliable?

The case material is listed as "Alloy" and the band as "Stainless Steel" ... which is also
an alloy, the image of the back shows the case back stamped with Stainless Steel so
is the case actually Stainless? also what black coating is used? I would want it to be PVD coated.

In the description under "Place of Origin" they state "Made in Swiss" which is misleading,
the movement is Japanese so that at least means they cannot market as Swiss Made,
and in fairness the watch itself doesnt say Swiss Made on the dial.

Most people wouldnt care about those things I pointed out above and the watch is probably
targeted for occasional wear or purely as a collectors item.
