affordable watch maker...
~Snipped~
Found an affordable manufacturer [HS ENTERPRISES# (not limited to watches)] from India, but it doesn't seem to have an official website, so I'm not sure if it should be listed or not:

While I was searching for the above thing, I stumbled upon an unknown Bitcoin watch and I was wondering if any of you might have any details about the maker in question [it's the guy "in the background"]: Anyone saw this Bitcoin wrist watch elsewhere?
- BTW, I've already checked all of the images from the pinned message on Youtube but had no luck (for some reason, none of the videos work on my end).

I liked their first version but was not able to obtain one - I did put a deposit down for one of the V2 "blockwatch 256"

https://node.fun/
Omg, these look like a lot of fun! Website gives off scammy vibes, though, but I guess I am just oversensitive? - So Blockwatch V1 was a thing, does anyone have it and can tell us more?

Is there any more info on te V2 thing somewhere? I am seriously intruiged.
Mining with a solarwatch, probably in the Megahash-range, hahaha, but such a funny gadget if it works.

here is the v1 that was sold on Scare.city

https://scarce.city/auctions/v1-blockwatch

MM, well you are a great sales person, I just ordered one as well.  I honestly think I probably make more Sats playing THNDR games at work then I will mining with this, but it's a cool concept for sure!  Thanks!!!

ha! I have made about 5k sats so far with THNDR games which is fine, I waste time in lines playing solitaire as it was - so now I get some sats for doing so.

MM deserves a commission from them. Just put down a deposit as well lol.

haha

I just wanted to give an update on the Blockwatch 256

https://node.fun/

I mentioned before, but I did put in a deposit on one of the watches.  However, I had my doubts that it was a viable project, so I reached out via the phone number listed on the website.  I left a voicemail and was pleasantly surprised by a call back this morning.

I spoke directly with the CEO of the company and was impressed by the details he shared.  It definitely sounds like a legitimate project, and while the watch is mining capable, it is more to support the overall network then being designed for profitability.  He is the original designer of the Blockwatch V1, so he has provided a successful product launch in the past.

There are a few more details, and I invited him to post on this forum the details remaining (as I would definitely misinterpret the details).

In any case, I am happy to be supporting the project at this point.

Thanks!

Mark

Thanks Mark for the kind words and for supporting the project! I am the other co-founder of Node and Blockwatch that you didn't speak to but I was told about this thread.

We did indeed build the OG Blockwatch, but they are sold out. This thread seems to really like luxury so wanted to show this 18K gold case OG Blockwatch https://scarce.city/auctions/blockwatch-gold

Our new product that's shown at https://node.fun/ is THE Bitcoin Watch that will be equipped with ASIC chip(s) to generate sats but more importantly have payment functions with Lightning. All powered by a solar watchband.

It's not an apple watch, it's not a Rolex, it's not a Fitbit. We're calling it Post-tech-- for those who value purpose and function in a new, exciting technology.

Thank u for the feedback! I can assure you its not a scam. We WILL deliver. We learned a lot from the OG Blockwatch V1, now we're pushing that experience into something amazing with the new Node product

Again, shoutout to MMLLC and Mark! Just made a preorder, this thing looks crazy and finally is a subtle but strong way to show off my Bitcoin-nerdiness.
Just imagine, a friendly meeting with some random unexpecting collegues. One asks about your "curious looking watch". And bammm: You go off on a rant about how this things supports the Bitcoin network, has ASICs inside, allows lightning transactions....  Grin

@k33lin: Welcome to the forum! Would love to see some updates from time to time.
And: Any ETA yet?

Thank you! That's exactly what happens when we and others wear the v1 ! It's a conversation piece.

I will keep that in mind that there is interest on this forum for updates. You should see real prototype images released in the coming few months.
Will keep you all posted.

While we are at it... the solar wristband sounds like an obvious and fun way to get some energy into the watch (and power the asics - lol). - However I would be a little concerned for two reasons:
a) durability - is it really possible to make this thing able to last unless you just keep it locked away? Solar panels are not the most stable things I know.
b) Usually even for a tiny bit of energy you need quite the area of solar panels - can you even get enough out of this one to make any difference?
I really wish this works - but yeah, can't help but wonder. Cheesy

Hey welcome to the forum! Think we might have met at the last btc conference in miami. I should have grabbed a watch at your booth then. Cant wait to see the V2 functionality. Keep up the great work!

How many of the V1s are there exactly? and what was the price point when originally sold?

Thanks. SatsLife

Very prudent concerns. Durability will indeed be tested by us throughout the manufacturing process to ensure the watch can provide long lasting enjoyment. I actually ran QC for a sourcing firm in China when I worked there and will utilize those same techniques and processes for our upcoming watch. In any case we know solar power has been used on watches for decades and used frequently on even tougher watches like g - shock etc. Here's a link https://blog.watchdoctor.biz/2018/01/06/solar-powered-watches/

As for the amount of energy: We don't have all the answers at this point. However the initial numbers seem to add up. Prototyping and testing will be the next step for us to get hard data.
We are working on something new that pushes to the edge and which some people might not think is possible, but that's what we're building in the Bitcoin space for. This is where it's ALL happening. As elon musk said once in an interview "It[technology] only gets better if smart people work like crazy to make it better. That's how any technology actually gets better. And by itself technology...if people don't work on it, it actually will decline."

Thanks! We absolutely love the conferences to get the chance to talk with folks like yourself. Hoping to see you again at the next one.

There are 139 OG BLOCKWATCH units in circulation that were laser engraved with blockheight of manufacture and unit # for what we called the "Genesis Series". Each one was assembled by us, by hand in a garage.

We actually auctioned off a lot of them on scarce.city for sats, with the price usually higher on earlier unit number watches

Averaged around $1k for each watch at the time of sale (a lot were sold in BTC).

well so much for saying it is not a scam eh? took everyone's cash and now state - we are no longer doing this - oh thanks for your cash - here, have a tshirt.

I used my wifes cc so just initiated a charge back - used the message above and their recent email to show they promised a product, took everyone's money and then said sorry we are not doing it.

especially that cheeky ass comment "The components and consumer market are not ready for our reality bending device" making it sound like they could do it but meh fuck it, the world isnt ready for this awesomeness.

For what it's worth, you can create your own version [with a personal touch] of Blockwatch V1 while also saving some money in the process... From what I can see, they were using the "Watchy E-Paper Smartwatch kit [by SQFMI]". It's open-source by design [HW and SW], so if you know how to code or you're willing to learn, then it could be the next best thing:
