Title: Do you gamble to make money or for FUN?
Post by: worldofcoins on September 01, 2021, 10:16:08 AM
Since 2011 when some online gambling websites went online with bitcoin as their career then there were many gamblers who started to bet online because of many reasons.

Two of them being - For Making Money || FUN

Now from what I've seen people start for Fun make some money and keeps the cycle repeating until it becomes a habit and they start to think of it as a medium to keep making sustainable income which is not possible, I know some people from a community where they had the Story Line I shared above and even today they're unable to get gambling out of their mind.
And thinking if they can make 1000x of their deposit they would never play again, but we know what happens...

So what's your story... Makin Money ?? or For FUN.

I start playing online gambling when I first discover Bitcoin through faucet. I remember that my first online gambling experience was playing on freebitco.in dice game because it has faucet and built in dice game at the same time. At first, I was just playing using the Bitcoin that I earn using faucet. I was just playing happily that time and I thought that gambling can really give me a stable income, As I remember, I already computed the total amount that I will gain for a year and already plan all the things that I want to buy, Until one day when I wake up too early just to play dice, I lose all my savings for over a month on just a few rolls and then i realized that gambling is shit. I wasted a lot of time on collecting faucet and playing dice daily just to lose it all within a minute of playing.

Gambling should be for for, I think we have answered this kind of question frequently on this gambling discussion board, why should someone be looking for profit while gambling, it should be for fun even if looking for profit. The reason why most addicts turned addicted to gambling is because they want to make profit from it, they will be thinking they are different that they can apply strategies and make money, but later ended in failure, depression and money loss. I started making profit after I left gambling, I was addicted before, I lost a lot, I bet more than often and I lost the more. I have to quit gambling for over a year before I have control over it, now I gain when I gamble less and not beyond my budget of 2% to 5% of my monthly income.

Playing gambling is for fun and not making money but if I win the money, that will be good for me since I am not good at gambling games. I do not have many good stories about gambling because I think my luck does not come when I play gambling. But some people can have different reasons why they are playing gambling and many of them want to change their lives. Yes, they change their lives but do not make money because many lose their money just by playing gambling. But other people can make money from gambling.

I do take gambling both for fun and money too and this may sounds a very positive approach towards losses mate, I have known some gamblers who were taking their gambling activities a serious matter that's why when they get lose they were taking it seriously too. Well, no one wants to lose a money out on gambling but I think we should know already on the first place that gambling is taking a win and lose path at the same time without any assurance. Just be careful on the amount that you're willing to take the risk and afford to lose.

Gambling is for fun and money at the same time and in the same scale.
This has been discussed several times in this thread. However, this topic is certainly an interesting one for the gamblers.
One can deny that it's only for pure fun, but the money involved cannot be ignored. You gotta win or else the fun's over.

Now, let's talk about which is more important, to gamble to have fun or to earn money. But lossing isn't fun, right?
Therefore, earning money is way important than looking for fun in gambling.

If you're gambling, I believe you'll experience both of these emotions because you can't say you're just making money from it; you're still having fun because winning makes you happy, and losing makes you sad, so you'll experience both. This is one of the reasons why some people become addicted to it because they become overly excited about it and experience an adrenaline rush from the game because it involves a large sum of money. I haven't seen anyone who is only interested in gambling and isn't happy.

Of course, like most gamblers I want to win, but I have never had the ambition to make a living through gambling. In today's world there are a huge number of investment tools that help to make good money and cryptocurrencies are one of these tools. So gambling is just entertainment.

I don't make a special fund for gambling unless I get the money from a faucet or airdrop. A few months ago I did that my first goal of playing and the second to double the free money. In addition, because the gamble that I participate in is guessing the rocket is destroyed. It's like a game and I do it because i don't work. Once a few weeks I also do that just to play games, if I get extra money it adds to my pleasure. But if I lose I won't think about it.

Once upon a time in my youth I wanted to earn so much money by betting on sports that I would live in abundance. But over time, I realized that this is a very hard work and I spend a lot of time and nerves on it. So I decided to place bets for fun, now it's just like a game for me. I like to analyze and find some patterns, or probabilities in events, but this is still just fun for me.

As long as you gamble with "the money you can afford to lose" it's fun and entertainment that can be profitable from time to time when you score some nice wins! When you doing it like that there's no risk for your health, your social life...
At the moment when you start risking more than you can afford to lose, problems will start coming your way! All kinds of problems! Because you will start taking and putting all in gambling, so everything and everyone around you will start to suffer!

I gamble for fun, but I can't (nobody can't) deny the nice feelings from nice wins, and desire to win even more! We people love to win, and we know that winning in any gambling game can be profitable!

Years back when I started to gambling with Satoshi, I registered with freebitcoin.co doing the dice game at every top of the hour to earn some satoshis, it was fun then, I also fill mrai more like gambling too by earning some satoshis too, however I later switched to soccer bettings, which was my area of interest, I am a soccer fan and l have the ability to analyze matches thus I started betting on soccer matches to earn some extra income, knowing that the era of gambling for fun had passed with lot of gambling avenues available online to earn extra income if we'll utilized.

No doubt that most people gamble to make money and fun is a small part of the activity.
I have to admit that I do gamble for both making money and for fun.
I cant deny even if I do gamble for fun but sometime it is not fun at all if I lose some money when I'm out of my own control.
All in all, as long as I can handle/control it wisely, it does not matter what is my main purpose in gambling.

I think a lot of gamblers would say they only do it for fun because eventually throughout gambling you will experience losses and it's definitely not fun to lose. Maybe in the process some would say losing makes you a better gambler, but I think luck will always play a huge part to have success and to even consider gambling as a source of income. For me, I started and have always been fond of sports betting and the integration of cryptocurrency made it a more fun experience. Also, the people you meet and bet with are what makes it fun. Now if you'll analyze it and focus on the dynamic of gambling itself, then consider those who have made it as a profession to be extremely lucky for such a challenging industry to be in.

Yea, I think the same.
It's mostly because they chase their loss and end up losing everything at some point.
Funny thing I recently watched a stream of a Video game player, he's used to stream league of legends and started promoting a gambling website and currently is playing Slots there now he lost over 400k USD and is chasing his losses when it's clearly written on the website at right side bottom "Don't chase losses"

Making money from gambling is too much work and the casinos will ban if you when they realize that you are making more than you lose. It is not worth taking the risk. You better get a day job. It will pay more or less the same and you'll "probably" have a less stressful life.

Both. To add thrill into sports and the same time enjoy the profits if ever it will win. There are times when you just don't feel the heat of the game anymore unless you are betting for one team. And when you do, you can scream your lungs out cheering for them because you know deep down you have a bet that needs to be won.  ;D
I remember last season of NBA when I was screaming to shoot one more for the Bucks because I took a handicap bet at negative for them.
As if they will hear me from just doing it in my monitor.

Both since its hard to play without any motivation and also its so hard to have fun while we are losing money for times so its really hypocrite to say that we only here to have fun, I know many rich kiddos out there will say that but actually at the end of their games and they don't have enough money to spend on other things for sure they will regret on why they used there money to gamble. I know its hard to win or get a profit on gambling but once luck is on our side we should learn how to quit so that we can enjoy the amount we won.

What started off as fun a long time ago, and playing with friends sort of transposed itself into more of a side thing where now is more about the gains rather than pure fun. I still do it for pure fun but more rare now, as the idea is to get monetary value out of my time when playing online.

I suppose, in a society where everything is valued and comes down to monetary incentive it is no surprise that most of us are only enjoying the gaming experience more from a money stand point...

Yeah, I think you can have the best of both worlds, you can have fun at the same time make money out of it. But for those who play and wanted to earn, might be difficult because in every bet you make, the chance of you losing is very high. And besides that, if you have profited already then it's time to quit. The problem with gamblers who wanted money is that they wanted more, and sooner or later the house edge will caught up with them. So just have some fun and enjoy and just play money that you can afford to lose.

Fun. It's one of the things that I always make sure that I remember and take into heart when gambling, especially when losing. I gamble to enjoy myself, to have fun, instead of earning money, hence whenever I lose, I don't rage about losing money, I rage about losing the game itself. It's kind of similar to how people spend money on building Gundam models or skins in-game, it's purely for entertainment purposes and nothing more, nothing else. I used to think that gambling was made for money and well, the results slapped me in the face. I got way too greedy at my first gambling session, it was a really bad experience ngl, hence why I always remember this at heart.

I can say, I am more on just having fun. As I know in the long run, I will lose money when I really sit down to play. So I just allot certain amount to gamble. Once it is gone, it means, time to park my game and just continue once I have extra. But I bet on sports that I really like and on my favorite team. But with sportsbetting, even if I lose, that's fine, as long as I am rooting for certain team or individual to win. In my experience, I really don't see gambling as a way to make money.

Gambling should never be seen as a way to earn money.

Of course, the desire to win money is what attracts players to place their bets, but this shouldn't be people's priority when using these services for the various reasons that have been questioned several times in this area of the forum, especially addiction.

Of course, the main fault is the sites that abuse advertising with the incentive to give a lot of money to players, but they (players) are the ones who need to be aware and not fall into the traps.

Anyway, I'm glad I got off the addiction, now I make my sports bets only for fun and despite winning over and over again, I never need to made a withdrawal.

Such is the situation where 2021 will become massive fame for online gambling sites. I have witnessed myself in some circles that almost people have started to get into gambling with the excuse of making money. Of course it makes me wonder why it is so aggressive because it is not as easy as you imagine gambling to take advantage.

They say that since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, making money from work is harder than usual. Then word of mouth gambling can provide multiple benefits (that's what they have in mind) even though the risks can also destroy and lose everything. His name is also human, we feel that every time there is a great opportunity, we always feel curious to try. Until finally gambling is used as an escape to test luck.

While on the other hand, some people who have been involved in gambling before the pandemic still think that gambling is a mere alternative to entertainment. So here we can see there are 2 groups of gamblers.

I am playing gambling for fun. I do not intend to pursue the money from gambling because I know that it will not be easy to win many times. Gambling is just part of our lives and we should treat gambling as a fun thing and not thinking about making money. Maybe you can make money from sports betting or other gambling games that need skills. But that will only if you have much information and skills and knowledge about the match. If you can analyze and predict the team or player, you will have a big chance to win.

I only gamble for fun because gambling was originally made for entertainment purposes. If we'll focus on making money, we'll surely have regrets in the end, or worse, it could lead to gambling addiction because you'll focus on earning money that could also put you under too much pressure. It's better to enjoy it without risking a huge amount of funds.

Good performance is something that brings joy while on the opposite side, bad performance will reflect negative things, victory is an understandable emotion of longing and of course, admittedly making money is very little as soon as we come to gambling when the general perception of the world about this form is that it is not possible to make money but time is piling up more, players are contaminated by the gambling atmosphere and turn into puppets under the coins. Since then, the good side of fun is extremely small in generations of gambling, only bold with the identity of waste and bankruptcy.

we need to play with this kind of mindset if we want is to earn money out of gambling because its hard to earn if we play the other way around .
whats also good with this is its like we are hitting two birds with one stone because we are having fun aswell aside from profiting  .
we only need to teach our selves about having a control so that we can break the repeated cycle

I prefer to be on the safe side so I'm playing for fun, if you are going to play to make money, there's a lot of risk and pressure involved you need to wager the huge amounts of money and it's depressing if you keep losing money, there's pressure to win what you've lost, you'll end up losing everything, whereas if you are playing for fun and playing within your means, you can get a good night rest knowing you have fun playing.
So make your life easy and stress free, play for fun.

Well for me it's quite the opposite. I started gambling to make money but ended up gambling for fun  ;D
Obviously I lost the money I thought I could use to make more money because that's what happens right.
I took a break and started using the free spins but this time I was not sad because of losing the money.
I was getting the happy feeling and so I continued gambling for fun with very small bets.

Nowadays, I just gamble for fun as i have already accepted the fact that I will never make bank with gambling and that i will never be a professional gambler. It’s one of those things that you will learn eventually after many losses. Plus, if you have a stable job that pays well, you will no longer feel pressured when it comes to looking for other sources of income, or trying to hit the jackpot from a lottery or any other gambling games there is.

Been gambling for fun for years now, and I don’t think I will ever feel pressured to win that jackpot, or at least win something from the gambling platform again.

It has something to do with beginner's luck there are people who started out great with a long winning streak and hold on to the belief that they have this  Midas touch or they have luck in gambling, then they begin to play for money, they will find out later the reality of the house edge and your chances in gambling, if you get a fair share of losses in gambling when you are starting out, you'll treat gambling as something to get you out of boredom and play for fun.

Mainly to make money, although I wouldn't call it gamble.

I mainly play poker, and it gives me benefits. I have also sometimes played casino games, but since I understood the underlying mathematics I am thinking about the expected loss even if I win.

Let's say I play a casino game with -20% EV per roll. If I bet $10 and win, let's say $100, instead of rejoicing, what I think is that I'm $92 down on the expected value and that I'm going to pay for that in the future. Therefore, I don't play much.

one can also gamble to make money with money they can afford to lose and when/if they lose they have fun by laughing at themselves

but well, jokes aside
it's much better to have a consistent stream of income you can rely on instead of having the pressure to have to gamble for money

nothing wrong on having fun with money
or spending for fun
but relying on that for income is a totally different (and dangerous) subject

Even with all the poetics, it's all the same in regards to what's sought after by many people when gambling but we all know it's the primal instinct of winning, we are competition based species and we shaped the world in a dog eat dog world so you can be sure to know that it's winning and in this case making money that's the reason why people gamble.

I only do gambling if i want to earn money. If i win in gambling, its fun too. But the first my first priority to play gambling is to earn money and second priority is having fun.

When I first got to know gambling, I thought I could make a lot of money by gambling. It turns out that in fact I suffered more losses, even I was
addicted because I was obsessed with chasing victory. Finally I have now realized that making gambling as a source of income is not a good thing to do.
Now I gamble really for entertainment, if I really get a profit I consider it a bonus. Then losing money while gambling must be painful, but if from
the beginning the money we used to gamble was the budget that we allocated for gambling. If experiencing a loss is not too painful, even I can be
entertained even though I experience a loss when gambling.

I think everyone will answer the same thing, namely making money, but there are indeed a few people who do gamble just to fill their spare time and the goal is only for some people who indeed have excess money :)
but whatever it is the main goal is to make money even though the risk is big and losses are ready to come at any time but indeed the gambling sector is still in demand by many people.
and for me myself when I am in gambling is indeed to get both things, namely pleasure and of course money.
because when we get money of course we will feel happy :)
this does not mean that we avoid the risk of defeat because this is what happens most often, especially for beginners who always lose and it is not pleasure to get even to be unhappy, this is where we have to be professional in doing something.
because of course we know when gambling there are two possibilities, namely winning and losing. when we win automatically we will get a big profit on the contrary when we lose we must at least be humble and professional as it should be because like it or not we have to accept this.

So what's your story... Makin Money ?? or For FUN.

In my current financial state and situation, i cannot say that i can even think of gambling seriously for the fun of it, unless of course does little gamble with friends over board or video games.

The very first experience i had of loosing a good sum to a gamble was nothing fun to me at all, i have other activities i do for fun and relaxation, gambling is definitely not one, it is strictly to earn some more money.

Maybe when i am financially stable enough to how i want, maybe then i can do a good sum gamble for fun.

Even with all the poetics, it's all the same in regards to what's sought after by many people when gambling but we all know it's the primal instinct of winning, we are competition based species and we shaped the world in a dog eat dog world so you can be sure to know that it's winning and in this case making money that's the reason why people gamble.

in reality I think we are a cooperative species but got lost in the way and competition made us forget about cooperation, many time in the name of progress
if you look at traditional communities and indians there's healthy competition but there's a lot more cooperation

I can say, I am more on just having fun. As I know in the long run, I will lose money when I really sit down to play. So I just allot certain amount to gamble. Once it is gone, it means, time to park my game and just continue once I have extra.
this is a very logical thing to do because if you consider it just for entertainment, you should strengthen in terms of how much money you want to spend on gambling and don't occasionally get carried away with your greed and lust because usually even if the initial intention is just for fun, it doesn't rule out the possibility when we experience defeat, instead of retreating, we put forward our ego and lust in order to achieve victory. This has violated the original rules and principles.
other than that if you expect just to have fun and spend free time consider the benefits as a bonus while you are here.

We want the best of both worlds but unfortunately, we cannot, we should treat gambling for entertainment and treat it as luck if we are making money while money, we cannot win in every session the house edge will always beat us, so we must accept the reality of gambling and only play with money that we can afford to lose but don't lose your mindset if you are winning, just enjoy and have fun.
Even if we do treat it like that, there's always that base instinct that we should be making some value out of all of it because it's not that satisfying in the long-term, I mean fun is a good thing but if you think about it, fun is just a short term thing.

I'm doing this because for fun I know gambling is now increasing with time and more people are starting to profit from gambling, but for me it's not just my old pleasure in gambling games, I'm happy to be here for entertaining myself what is I do is satisfaction in gambling.

Since the pandemic I do this almost as often as I can in a casino but I know which rules come first to earn money, to be honest I can't leave my main job in the real world just for the long term, but I'm glad almost every day I can still make time to gamble, so it's really fun at this time.

No gambler will accept to gamble for money each of us believes it's for the fun until it becomes an addict then the difference can be spotted. For me I can't really say for sure but I presume it's for fun because I am actually trying my very best to ensure I don't see gambling as a source of livelyhood I feel this way I will have full control of my games.

I agree with your statement because after all the profits made from gambling will keep the gamblers entertained, both will remain attached to gambling. It is undeniable, everyone has their own version of dealing with gambling as anything.
As long as it is based on personal encouragement, it will make the gambler feel that his actions are not from anyone's coercion. The matter of making money, or losing money, has become a common thing and does not need to be questioned anymore.

Gambling for fun I think it's mostly just an excuse, and there will still be a sense of wanting to win because we are risking money and not going to take losses for granted.
And if it's really just for fun, I think they can limit gambling and only bet when there is an urge to play, and also play with small capital and use the extra money you can afford to lose.
and the most important thing is to play casually without any emotions and also enjoy the game, lose or win you feel happy and besides if the aim is to have fun you only play one or a few games that you find fun.

If I'm not out to make money then where is the fun, If it was just the fun then I wouldn't gamble at all. Gambling is like every other business where you make profit and loss so which ever comes your way you embrace it certainly a day that would force smiles on your face is coming I gamble both for the fun and the money because the money remains my motivation

I guess making easy money and have some fun is the end result of playing (if you are lucky). So people gamble just for the sake of playing (the intermediate variable). When a gambler plays, all of it, the waiting, adrenaline, intermediate wins, surprise win, etc., contribute to his satisfaction. It fulfills his needs to play and to experience all of it. Perhaps that's why I continue to play even after big wins. I don't think it's about greed since I understand the risk and realize I could lose it all. I think only the uninformed gamble to make money, and the filthy rich gamble for fun.

Makin Money ?? or For FUN.

It's a bit of a paradox really, most people gamble because they think they will hit it big if they just keep on feeding the money to the gambling institution - they get trapped in a cycle where they have wasted so much money that they are always trying to recover losses. If you can play a game online or walk into a casino for a game, then leave it for a year without giving it a second thought, then you are probably getting genuine fun out of it. If you're doing it more frequently than that you may very well have a problem, it's possible you are scraping by with some meagre winnings playing something like poker with thousands of other sharks, but it's likely you are losing long term while playing any other games, is that fun?

Those who can gamble as fun do not incur any big losses, because those who gamble as fun also have a very limited amount of funds.
And the thought of making money through gambling is very difficult, those who think like this, they face a lot of difficult things.

This topic had been beaten out to death that had been questioned for years here on this forum but for the sake of avoiding off topic reply then i would say that people will mostly tell that they do play for fun
but deep inside they are really longing for fast profits or multiplying their capital which is only possible in gambling in shortest time as possible and this industry wont really become this big or profitable if
it wasnt really for those people who do ending up on becoming addicts due to chasing up for profits or chasing up their losses or to break even. This is a common scenario or on whats happening
into this market.

I have been betting for some time now you know, I actually started betting at a Tender Age though, I had support from families and as well from mum and dad so I gambled for fun.
But when the quest for money came up while I was growing up, seeing my peer groups with money,I decided to make it a serious Affiar and gradually I started betting for money... funny enough I got my first 200dollars at my first year in college.

Agree with this!

We do have that fun motive in our mind but as you do play for longer periods of time then that kind of aim or treatment would totally change overtime which is common.

Basing off on how many gamblers on this business or industry then you could really tell on what they do really aim off which is to make money. Fun is normal but having that perseverance or dedication
to make profit towards your plays is main priority.

It's quite true that most people will not say that out in public because of the embarrassment of their wants.

it wasnt really for those people who do ending up on becoming addicts due to chasing up for profits or chasing up their losses or to break even. This is a common scenario or on whats happening

Chasing the loss then trying to make profit again and not ending up making the profit, so back to square one and recovering losses again... and so on.

If you are gambling to make money, then you have a problem.

I think that you need to be extremely honets to yourself when it come sto this issue. Gambling is designed to be a form of entertainment and not cash flow generative business.

You are playing against a house that has an inherent advantage over you - over the long run, you will lose. Accept that and see it as a fun form of entertainment.

I agree. I think that some people get too caught up in gambling.

They start off with the right intentions and treat it as a way to relax and rewind but degenerate into problem gambling whereby all they think about is gambling and they treat it like a side hustle.

Horrendous attitude to have. Unless you have an advantage over the house (card counting, etc. which is becoming increasingly difficult these days with online play), you are not going to win long term. It's that simple.

You are right on that. I only gamble just for fun as I only spend small amount of money in gambling. So I know, I don't need to expect that I will get big winnings. I usually try new games and how it works so I have idea what gambling games are. After all, I am promoting a gambling site.  ;) Because once I get too deep, I usually stop playing once my bankroll is zero. So in order to avoid big losses, I only deposit the amount that I can fully accept that I will lose it in my gambling.

A must thing to be done but majority do fail on sticking into this rule on where they do really ending up on becoming addicts because as you do play on longer you would really make yourself get addicted.
In result? More spendings to come.

Entertainment is totally different from money making or source of income and this is where people do fall most or fail to stick on what they had been seeking of.

If you do play gambling for fun then mind off those money used to be lost and wont be expecting something back from that.

I gamble to have fun and to earn as well. I would be fool if I wont say that the fact that you have a chance to double your money is really attracting to play gambling games.

However I have self-limit on how many hours and how much to spend in gambling. This is my way to prevent myself being addicted (since I experienced it before) because most games are really addicting especially if you're lucky to win.

Whatever reasons you have why you gamble, what matter is you have discipline and self control.
