Title: Newbies/Newcomers Knowledge is better than merits.
Post by: Shamm on October 25, 2021, 03:48:55 AM
Everyone deserves merits but for me knowledge is the Best,   we all know that   merits is one of the components to be rank up but knowledge is the best achievement that we recieve and the best weapon against those people who've humiliate low ranks. So newbies and newcomers we must study first and make a good contribution to this forum then Time time without knowing  you already achieve your goals.

In this juncture  Newbies / newcomers   must study and focus on forum rules then to be followed by Cryptocurrencies and bitcoins. But if you cannot chase some information do not hesitate to make a Question thread then I assure that many older Members will teach/guide you. Older Member is Willing to help to those Newbies who've deserve and hard working.

In fact, it would be logical for new members to come to this forum with the purpose of learning something, gaining new skills and knowledge that can help them in their crypto journey.
This is not always the case on this forum but given the specificity of this forum and the earning potential through signature campaigns, this is probably to be expected.
Each member of this forum can make a contribution to the community, through their knowledge or experience, and if it helps someone, that member will get the merit he deserves.
It is a mistake to write posts with the expectation of getting merits.
A new member should write with the desire to contribute to the forum and help other members and with such an attitude the member will progress in the forum and get the merits he deserves.

Again, another topic about merit and knowledge. I don't think it is necessary because with Search (by Google or forum's search function), you can find abundant topics about merit, knowledge and how to rank up.

Additionally, if you want to teach newbies, please move this topic to Beginners & Help (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0)

OP, you might have seen that I wrote this in your self-congratulatory thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5367301) about ranking up to Full Member:

Frankly, your posts are generally hard to understand, and I have you on my ignore list (though I don't remember when I added you to it).
And this thread reminds me of exactly why I put you on ignore.  The whole "education is best, follow the rules, blah blah blah" thing has been written by hundreds of low-ranked members before, and I always consider such sentiments to be aimed at higher-ranking members with merits to hand out, because members who express those sentiments think that's what generous merit-givers want to hear.

Well, let me clue you in:  It isn't.  Nor is it anything newbies would want to read even if they visited Meta for anything other than a merit grab attempt.  You've been here for almost exactly 5 months, and even though your rank may have changed, you're still a newbie in my eyes.  As such, it'd be better if you weren't trying to dispense words of forum wisdom to members who've been here less than 5 months.

For example you learn someone something and he gives you a "gift" for that which is the merit.
I am not getting exactly what did you mean by "learn someone something". Merit isn't a gift exactly, gift means it would give you even for not contributing. But merit stands for contributors actually. It doesn't matter whether a post is helpful for me, but if the post is helpful in any way then it's contributing something and merit could send that post. The gift is for the person. But merit is for the post, doesn't matter newbie or high-rank user.

As a merit source, I always welcome newbies, if they somehow contribute to the forum I am open to sending merit. I am not too strict for newbies, but the open secret is most newbies are spammers.

In my opinion not the merits are important here but the overral knowledge and information you share and give and its more important how useful are you for the forum ,not how much merits you have. Its my beginner opinion i know some of you might not agree.
Why not, you must have good reason to say it there.

The merit system is implemented by theymos in an effort to improve the quality of post from each user even when they no longer need it as a rank requirement. Kindness is needed by low-rank members to rank up to reach the highest (Legendary) rank and the main requirement from them is the quality of post. You need merit, but don't make that your main focus in this forum.

You won't improve if you keep chasing bounties, buddy. I barely saw any non-bounty posts in your post history.
No one's going to give you a merit for a bounty post.
Check this post about merits: Merit & new rank requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0)

If you're having difficulty writing in English, stick to your local board first.

sir kindly check my post number but activity number is half of post number. sir kindly solve my problem 🙏🙏

Read:

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.
