Title: Stick to altcoins or switch to Bitcoin or stablecoins?
Post by: Wysi on December 17, 2021, 07:17:58 PM
Market is witnessing some gradual dumps and it's a know fact that altcoins will bleed more than bitcoin and they will be stable or recover only when bitcoin recovers and pumps. So will it be wise to hold on to Altcoin or switch to Bitcoin or convert the funds into stablecoins and wait for market to either start recovering or to dump further to buy more in order to reach breakthrough for the lose which we might have incurred till now.

Why don't you just hold bitcoin and invest more as the price is decreasing so you can have a good profit when the market pumps back. But some people will have to convert to stable coins but know that stable coins are pegged with fiat, fiat will be devalued also. But if fiat is preferred for this period, converting back to bitcoin before another bull run set to occur will be good.

Obvious altcoins shoudn't be in the discussion here, it should be between holding Bitcoin or trade all profit to stablecoin to remove the risk totally. Both holding Bitcoin or stablecoin are perfect options but it totally depends on what your game plan is. Are you okay with the amount of Bitcoin you currently own and just want to hold forever or until it reach your targeted price. Do note also that nobody can predict the button but can only speculate on the range so don't be fooled by any article you read out there.

If you know you can hold through all the downside that the market is likely to experience in the coming months then keep your coins in Bitcoin and just take your mind off the market until maybe when the bulls come back. With holding in stablecoin you'll need to monitor to market to know when to buy in which might come with alot of pressure. But if you can manage all that then holding stablecoin has more advantage.

Market is already bear anough at current position, placing some buy orders is great right now but don't do all in but just enter slowly.
Holding bitcoin and some strong fundamental altcoins is okay but don't invest on new projects yet because it just could get worse when the market going more dip because new project's coin price could be down to 50%+ if the market is not friendly.

HOLD- is you are just a holder
Sell them- if you are a trader and converted to stablecoins.

Actually, there is no need to rush our decision in times like this. A short dump, gradual market changes, in fact, it comes and go, and seeing this usual market changes. Felt not to worry about this, unless if you were doubted about the market and it certainly affect your decision together.

Before investing in any alt-coins, you have to take you time to research on how it would do during the dip or bad market, because this period always come in crypto-currency although am not a big fan of alt-coins but I think if you can research before investing in any alt-coins then you would not need to check if it Bitcoin is increasing, I have seen one or two alt-coins still rising even when. Bitcoin dumps but in crypto-currency am also after longevity, and Bitcoin has passed that test back to back.

30% to Bitcoin and the rest on Altcoin.

Why you should have Bitcoin? because every time crypto market is moving, bitcoin will be the first asset to move and then the rest (Altcoin) will try to follow. You can also trade and flips some profit while bitcoin is up and down a little bit before the altcoin market is moving up.

After there has some strong points and a sideways market on bitcoin, then altcoin is moving up & you will get a more profit on altcoin.

Daily trading takes up too much time, which I always lack. I study projects in advance, and therefore, having collected the right coins in my investment portfolio, I am ready to hold them regardless of the periodic ups and downs of the market.

I make everything much easier, I always have dollars in stock and when the market falls, I buy cheaper altcoins with them and so on in a circle, the profit can be fixed in bitcoins and set aside separately.Such a state in the market is no longer a novelty, I think many already have their own strategies.

I think all these are matter of choice and mindset, some traders stick to Bitcoin while some keep holding their altcoins. But what I really do is to hold some usdt or BUSD and wait for more dump in the market then I buy my crypto coin of choice then sell when market recover.

Choose stable coins if you think the dump will continue, or if you are unsure to hold it for the long term.

The market may experience more downtrends, that's normal because correction would normally come after a bull run and it seems like it is what we are witnessing now. Just chill out, think wisely as I don't want to see investors or traders panic because they are not so familiar with the market behavior of crypto.

Bitcoin and stable coin is not an option for me, it's an unwise decision because at the stage, many Altcoins have bled and are -80% to 90% down from their all time high, it will be so difficult to make back such gains that have been lost, it's either you sell half and divert that into bitcoin and hold together with the Altcoin or sell small portion of your Altcoins portfolio and wait for more dip buy more, it will make sense that way.
Also, it will be difficult to make son much gainsbgrom bitcoin except you have hundreds or thousands to invest in bitcoin.

Hold Bitcoin and good altcoins as well because personally I prefer to have them on my wallet especially the market is down right not and its too risky to hold or invest any shit tokens, better to invest on top options so they can protect your money since they have the supporters and we know that they can easily rise once the market is on a recovery mode.

I think there is no need to change Altcoins to bitcoin, if what you say is that when bitcoin goes up, altcoins will automatically follow itself, the current condition of almost all existing coins corrects itself, then why do we switch to bitcoin, isn't it bitcoin? yourself is also going through a period of correction, don't panic with conditions like this, it will recover itself in time.

Well with Bitcoin, you wouldn't worry about gradual dumps. Just don't get into whale's trap and you and your emotion would be fine.
If you're for the long term, go with Bitcoin obviously.  Just call your stablecoins if you're all good with your holdings already. Just don't "hold" your stablecoins for too long though as you might worry about your funds getting frozen.

If you're planning to make profit out of Bitcoin bull market, then those choices you mentioned are of no help (depends on how you execute and manage your asset) most of those who have done this has failed to maximize their profit. Why would you want to complicate things out by selling your Btc when you could simply hold it and be patient with how the market has been doing lately. That way your Btc is much safer than moving them all over and monitoring the price.

In my opinion there is no relationship between keeping altcoins when the market is bleeding, all existing coins will also have an effect when the market is corrected, then whether bitcoin has a level of security if conditions are like this, how is it possible if both have a relationship we have to let go of one of them, the right move we are waiting for time to recover, to resell the coins we have.

You got it correct on the first sentence about how the markets behave based on your experience, so if you believe the market will keep going down further why should the option to hold altcoin even exists. One of the few options left for you is to just simply convert to Bitcoin to prevent the highly volatile altcoin. But for freakin sake, if you truly believe and speculate the bull is ending, you should immediately convert your funds to a stable coin as of now, and then keep DCA-ing if the market keeps getting down. Anyway, the choice is yours, so just think over about your risk management in regard to which option is the most suitable for your own.

I currently stick with altcoins though I still hold my bitcoins since I know it will save my ass in the future. Bitcoin has already proven itself to be a valuable long-term asset, that it'd be a complete waste if I sell my coins at a highly discounted rate. If you want to still make moves in the market, stick with altcoins, otherwise, just stay still and hold bitcoins for the future. Stablecoins can only do so much, and is really not an amazing asset to hold IMO that you're wasting your money just by holding it.

I prefers exchanging my Altcoins to fiat in the period of price dump, just like what we are presently experiencing in the market, implications of sticking with Altcoins during red is very obvious losses will definitely be incurred, portfolio will drop massively and even my bitcoin is also exchanged to a stable coin, I always wait till when market resume it bullish sentiment then I start buying again, though some long term hodlers might sticked with their Altcoins with a good future  outlook.

maybe for now for me it's better to save usdt first, bitcoin is still in a sharp decline for next month, what's more, before Christmas has arrived there will certainly be redness in all markets. which has happened before Christmas before. the bitcoin chart is still in a continuous decline.?

I just want to add more something about your topic dude, actually We already entered into altcoins season right now, where most of the altcoins as you can see got dumped their price value in the market, were it is a good chance for us to buy them then hold in the long term or short term until the right time to increase comes up in the future. But of course, We still need to be wise in choosing altcoins in the exchange.

If what you are holding on to is a good altcoin, I would suggest sticking with an altcoin, because surely these altcoins can come back even if it takes time. Don't just convert to stable coins, because we don't know and maybe after we convert the altcoin prices turn up.

Usually, for me, it will depend on the Alts projects you have invested in. I have some Alts in my wallets that have been going down too just like the rest of the market but I am not too worried because one, this is the current market trend and two, I believe they are good projects that can easily rebound when the market completes its correction so it all depends on your judgment of your invested projects.

Converting to stable coin could be the worst mistake or worst decision to make. It's best to hold on to both Bitcoin and altcoins thereby diversifying your portfolio. As the market keeps dumping it's best to look out for more buying opportunities for both although most altcoin might never recover again but for Bitcoin there are chances we get back a new bull run sooner

Im a small time investor and I really like how alts can turn x2 or even up to 100x when you pick a right coin. Im in alts because of this of which I know BTC can't do as its too late for me. The dumps however are hard to predict and its downfall are far worse that BTC has. Its just a matter of knowledge when to sell and buy.

Some alts will recover when the market is back, if you are holding some of the top alts rest assured they will recover back when the market is looking good again, but if you want you can exchange to btc or stablecoins.  however, there is a possibility the market won't go any lower than already is, you may end up buying higher if the market the go below as you expect it.

Altcoins are risk on assets. Bitcoin is the safe haven. If you want to preserve your wealth, stay with bitcoin. If you are after fat gains, then go with the alts.

Alts usually tend to outperform bitcoin during the bull runs. Not all of them though. ETH did quite well against BTC lately for example. If you can find the next ETH, you'll be rich beyond your imagination.

Some alts will recover and make new ATH, that is what happened before and will happen again, simply some alts are here to stay! We all know there are Bitcoin maximalists, there are people who choose Ethereum over other smart contracts, but there are people who are trying to be open-minded and to support other projects! I think whatever someone chooses it's ok, in my case I am trying to diversify and I have many coins and tokens! Who knows what is waiting for us, crypto is full of surprises!

Why not do a bit of both? As many people will suggest that you could have bitcoin, you could have stablecoins and you could have altcoins as well. I personally own all of them at the same time.

My biggest investment is bitcoin, it used to be as high as 70% but slowly and gradually I changed that, now it is more like 30-35% of my portfolio, second biggest is ETH with around 20%, a bit over nowadays, and so forth with over 10 different coins with the smallest only being 1-3% of my portfolio.

Meanwhile I have 500 dollars saved aside in BUSD just in case, that is there so that I could invest into something I see as undervalued anytime I want, it is not an investment to hold BUSD for me, it is just a way to be ready to buy as soon as possible whenever I see something. So all in all, you could own all three of them and be fine with it.

it depends on your goal mate, if you are in a good alt projects and you see it very optimistic then must hold,  in fact not all the time when bitcoin is crashing alts were doing the same as well, because you know sometimes alts is green as well while bitcoin ia red.. Be practical and make research first or technical and fundamental analysis maybe a good idea to figure it out which is a good option to keep holding.

As for me, I am not changing this yet, I have gained a lot of money from investing on bitcoin and this will not make me change. I gained also from altcoins, but what I noticed was that some increased than bitcoin but some of them just moved like bitcoin and some did not even increased up to bitcoin, some remain as shitcoins while some are now dead. I still prefer most of my investment to be in bitcoin.

I think if you are investing into potential projects, then there's no need to worry as most will also pump when bitcoin recovers. But if you are doubting, then this would be a perfect time to add more bitcoin in your portfolio since the price is still in slump.

However, investing in bitcoin will always have more guarantee to make profits compared to altcoins. But since its your own money and investment, you should better create your own wise decision and not just rely on others.

Stick to your plans.

If you were holding a bitcoin only strategy, then stick to that. But if you were already in alts, then stick to that as well.

Eventually the crypto market will reward you, it's just a matter of time. But hyperactive trading can result in a ton of fees that will be almost impossible to recoup.

Can't suggest to stick a lot in alts.
Got some altcoin that I held back in 2017 that were only for tries, but not really for long-term. Turns out it was flat-out dead heartbeat in the charts when checked 2 years after.
There are only few alts worth holding, and most of them just will dry out or going to be just a dust.

If you are sure that the bear market has already arrived, then the best solution is to transfer your entire balance to stablecoins. In this case, no corrections will affect your balance and you will have a great opportunity to buy previously sold coins at a lower price. But are you sure that the bear market has already started?

It might be a right time to switch to bitcoin rather than stablecoin. Only at the peak level (final ATH) of bitcoin you may think about getting into stablecoin or your local fiats. In my opinion, your local fiats must be more secured than any stablecoin hence just plan up accordingly. All stablecoins that we are having right now are centralized and anything may happen to them at any time hence not using stablecoins for long term based holding is highly advisable.

There are also many good altcoins on the cryptocurrency market now, the prices of which sometimes rise even when bitcoin falls. It should also be borne in mind that bitcoin already has a fairly high price and even doubling it will require a colossal injection of capital. At the same time, potential altcoins easily not only double in price, but also grow tenfold.
In the current situation of falling prices in the market, each altcoin must be dealt with individually. Potential altcoins, which have now fallen in price, do not make sense to sell, while others are sometimes worth it. It all depends on their prospects.

When market gets really high and you feel all the fomo at a time that btc is getting to 200k then my suggestion will be convert to stable and when you feel like losing your mind and that the market is turning red like red Nile then my advice is buy the dip and possibly hold for some time and wait for recovery Most times is better to act opposite to your fear than direct to it

Generally, I don't take the risk to convert my coins to any other coin because we never know which coin will rise any day but some people do it when they think the market will dump they convert their Alts holding in BTC because Alts bleed more than BTC when BTC drops and recovers only when BTC rise again so much of the things depends on the BTC value. If you are sure-shot Altcoins will dump then it is a wise decision to convert your Altcoins to the Bitcoin or some people rely on USDT only because it remains to a fixed value so that one can buy more coins when the market dips so Stable coins is the best option when you know there will be a dip for sure.

If the position of the altcoin held is still in the green or at least the decline is not too deep, maybe you can consider converting to bitcoin, but if you are an investor then the decline in the altcoin you own will not worry you because the target is long term very different from traders who are more into the short term.

Indeed, between traders and investors have different strategies,
for investors themselves they prefer coins that have strong fundamentals,
so that the coin is good for long-term investment and of course investors are very understanding about it

It's always my preference to convert in bitcoin but I've got some notable experience that when I've converted in bitcoin, that's what I've preferred.
But when I've checked the price of that altcoin now, I've just lost a lot of profit and when I say a lot, it's truly a lot and the conversion in today's time is more than 1 btc.
Well, that's profit taking and I've secured bitcoin when I've sold it.

Right now market looks foggy. Bitcoin below 52k is not indicating bull in control on the other hand BTC is above 42k indicating bear is also not in charge. So we can say the market is moving sideways right now. It will be wise to hold a stable coin for now and let the market decide which side it wants to go first.

You can make a partial investment into news base projects because it doesn't matter about the market conditions of these projects. Close your trade with a small profit if do not want to take any risk yet.

Sticking in stablecoins looks like the most stupid idea. What is even the purpose of doing it? You dont lose, and dont earn. Wont it be easy or same to convert in fiat and hold it?

I hold only those altcoins, which price has dropped down now and I wait till it recover, or wait till their value multiplies. I believe more in Bitcoin than in altcoins, that is why I prefer it over everything else.

I will be in altcoins, even almost a year I don't have bitcoin, I think bitcoin is boring because the price looks stagnant, in contrast to altcoins which have the potential to skyrocket in a short time, BNB, MATIC, Cardano and so on have better and more profitable potential than bitcoins.

Yeah, you are right and it seems that bitcoin already started its recovery phase hence it may not be the right to think about to think about to sell off unless you are already into profits. If you are already in profits with your altcoins then you may start booking profits in bitcoin as bitcoin may set a new ATH around $100k in coming months.

will it be wise to hold on to Altcoin or switch to Bitcoin or convert the funds into stablecoins and wait for market to either start recovering or to dump further to buy more in order to reach breakthrough for the lose which we might have incurred till now.
Your plans are sounding too good as most crypto investors never plan up like that (or at least I never do with my altcoins stash). Only bitcoin enters into bearish trend, you may think about stablecoins until then either continuing with altcoin or converting into bitcoin might be a wise decision as per current market conditions.

But this will only happen if bitcoin continues to grow and the market is bullish. In this case, if you have chosen the right coin for investing, it is guaranteed to give more profit than BTC. But if the market turns bearish, then your coins will depreciate more than BTC.

That is certainly true. Bitcoin may seems boring or become stagnant in price but when it reaches its all time high, it will be the highest value than any other coins. And when it dumps, its price will only fall temporarily and then it will start to surge again. But with altcoins, even if you are in the most profitable altcoins, the risk will always be present and anytime you will experience price in a downward position and its because of a short correction or negative news that affect the market. Altcoins are more affected than bitcoin and when it dumps, they end up falling into their bottom price which make most of the investors end up in panic selling particularly for those weak hands. So if you can hold bitcoin, better stay in it and just wait for it to skyrocket so you can sell at your target selling price.

I don't understand why people stock coins they don't believe. To me, converting your coins into stable coins shows that you are just not confident enough in your investment because if anything these stablecoins is never going to rise in value. And if you are converting your coins into them it shows you are afraid the project has no hope and you are not confident in it.

I can understand some people converting their coins to BTC when they feel the market is not doing well which is understandable but converting to stable coins is basically the lack of your confidence in your own investment.

The moment when traders and investors start selling bitcoin and buying altcoins is always a sign of the beginning of the altcoin season. And we are already observing how the dominance of bitcoin is declining. But this decline should not be accompanied by a drop in the value of the main cryptocurrency.

This!

We have different strategies on how we approach each coin/token. I've split mine into large, medium, and small caps. I never go all in on BTC or alts because I don't want to miss out potential massive gains and also protect myself from extreme market dumps.

This is totally up to you. If you think the market is going to dip/crash more, then you can convert your bitcoin to a stable coin and then buy back your bitcoins at a cheaper price. It has its own risk and you will have to time the market properly. One mistake, you might end up making a huge loss. What if the market doesn't dip anymore and the price starts to rise fast? Then you will have to keep on waiting for the price to crash or go back to the point at which you sold your bitcoin. And no, don't convert it to altcoins. Most of the time, when bitcoin crashes, altcoin crashes even harder. So, that would be a bad idea. Or just keep holding. When it crashes, invest as much as you can.

The price dropped below $50,000 several times and still got back above that again. Maybe you can just invest in bitcoin and hold it. Although another thing is that we don’t know how long this bearish trend is going to last;is it going to continue for a long time, and would the market still remain stable or keep dipping. But, that’s the risk that we talk about, and anyone who is in the market must have made up their mind to take that risk no matter what would be the result.

You can still invest in just a few altcoins, especially the top ones and then invest the rest in bitcoin; majority of your investment should be going to bitcoin.

Instead of converting altcoins to bitcoin, i think it  will create huge returns in the future if we can hold them both and just be patient to wait for bitcoin to recover because it will also create positive impact to good altcoins.

The market remains unpredictable as always and not knowing when will the market will recover is a challenge for us. And i guess only strong hands will succeed in the end as they always chose to stay calm and focus.

If you want more stress and you know when to convert into stablecoins then do it.
As for me, switching into one coin into another coin will just give me more stress than just by holding it. Well, holding when it dumped is only applied when you are just holding top coins since there will be time that these coins will go higher.

After all, we have different strategies when investing into altcoins and crypto in general and for me just holding when it dump is a better strategy.

It's your choice but for me I would choose with Bitcoin and high market cap coins and stable coins if I am going to choose long term investment but if you are just doing swing trader or day trading I think altcoin is a good option. Try to trade with big cap coins and if you lose just hold the Bitcoin and stablecoins you have bought.

The matter is that altcoins can give potential profit that is more than Bitcoin or Ethereum can offer.
Stablecoins can not give such a big profit. They can not give profit at all if not to trade. They are used only as a trading tool.
Now many investors are looking for new and prospective projects at the early stages of their development to earn the maximum profit.
The demand in the early stages of investments is so high that appear platforms that allow investing in different projects on their seed and pre-sale stages.
Here is article about such projects - https://medium.com/@CFS_Protocol/crypto-fund-syndicate-cfs-protocol-ead595f0b1df

Not a financial advice, but for me, if I am with bitcoin, then I hold my bitcoins because like we all know, this thing can't be predicted and sometimes, the market might just be waiting for you to sell before the parabolic move starts, which causes one to end up regretting the decision of selling, so I honestly don't really care about the market movement once I've invested, be it in bitcoin or altcoins, I only convert to usdt, money I plan on withdrawing to my local bank account in no long time while I monitor the market.

But on a investment I've kept for long term, I normally don't care which way the market is going, I always hold tight until my target or my set period/time.

I believe that people are confusing the word "altcoins" with bottom market cap stuff. ETH is an altcoin as well and you are not going to get x10 to x100 with it. Sure you could make a little but not a lot with it. So that means we are talking about second ranked coin as well as 2000th ranked coin at the same time. I would say buying top 20 coins with the 80% part of your investment, along with 10-20% saved on liquidity at USDT or BUSD or whatever you want to use as stablecoins is fine.

I have around 30% to 35% on btc, and around 50% of it on top 10, stuff like eth, bnb, sol etc etc and rest is saved in cash right now even though it is not a lot. That's good, but doesn't mean I would suggest "altcoins" in general, just the big name ones.

If you can bear the risk in hodling bitcoin, then stick with it. After all, bitcoin will always follow an upward trend so if you can hold for a longer time possible, then more likely that you will gain huge profits. However, with altcoins, they can be more profitable compared to bitcoin but the risk is definitely higher. But do not expect that altcoins will always be profitable as they are more affected when bitcoin price suddenly dumps.

I prefer to hold it because I'm sure the decline in bitcoin will not be too sharp, just need patience because what happens sooner or later will end and the price will definitely go up again.
we can see the traces of bitcoin's journey even though there is a decline in the end the price will rise again and even exceed the highest price before the decline occurred, it's good to take advantage of this decline to make a reversal to grow ownership.

It totally depends on your plan and your target. If you think the market will experience more drops, while your current assets look enough to take profits, why don't you convert to stable coins temporarily? Then, you can rebuy again some altcoins or even Bitcoin once there will be a huge dump/correction. But if you are already satisfied with your profits this season, kindly convert all your assets to fiats or stable coins. On the contrary, if your assets are already decreasing much, better to stay holding, and no need to convert to other coins. There is still an opportunity of the next pump although there is no guarantee it. DYOR/DWYOR

One strategy I use before is to convert my crypto to USDT once seeing the market is declining, which seems it works and saves me from losing. And re-invest once the market turns back high again. I believe this was a common practice to the majority and this genuine strategy will keep until forever. But of course, it was our own choice to which strategy we were able to use, holding/keeping your altcoins (even Bitcoin) is not a bad idea provided that you have the patience to wait until recovery comes otherwise, you may become tired and lose it.

I will choose altcoins over bitcoin or stable coins, we can only get a very large profit opportunity if we hold altcoins, while for the current position it is of course very difficult for bitcoin to reach 2x, while for altcoins to go up 10x it is very easy.

But if the BTC price drops by 5%, then the altcoin price will drop by 20-30%. And with the dump, the price of some altcoins decreased by 80%. So risks also have a price. For this reason, long-term investors prefer the reliability of bitcoin over new coins.

Altcoins are still promising, this is because my assets are still small, I think profit opportunities can only be obtained if we invest in altcoins, it is very easy for BNB, MATIC, Solana or other altcoins to increase 2x even 10x within a month, but for bitcoin the increase is may occur in a month will not be more than 50%.

Converting altcoins to bitcoins is the best thing right now, as the market price is down, so you can make big profits when the market will pump back up. Remember that you need to be active and focused on the market, as prices fluctuate. I think when the market is bleeding you should buy and hold more of the top coins in the market.

It seems you are starting to misunderstand this because all Altcoins are also very difficult to increase if Bitcoin continues to decline, and even if Bitcoin cannot increase by 2x, the advantage of holding Bitcoin will always be there even though Altcoins can increase up to 10x and that will not happen easily.

That is what we thought and that is really what happens in the market. We have witnessed how altcoins are relying upon Bitcoin, it all just following the trend as once Bitcoin dumps, it eventually declines as well. If I'm going to hold cryptos, I'd rather choose Bitcoin or it was best to switch to stablecoins. I'm not in the reason to make a profit but in this way, we able to stop losing our money once the market is in the struggles.

This is literally how those traders who trying to make profit from the market movement did, basically buy low sell high but stablecoins itself just function to keep the value of your investment.
But if we’re already keeping our investment in form of stablecoins and instead of buying when the price has gotten low but instead wait for the market to recover then we will lose the opportunity to make profit because by then, converting it back to altcoin will only decrease our investment further.
Just buy it low and sell it high just like how most of traders are doing, this will always works, of course it’s hard to decide at what moment is best to buy however buying at really low value never disappoints. If you are seeing the signs of bearish market then its better to keep your investment in form of stable coins immediately. Always remember that if you must also have reserved fund to anticipate the bearish trend that sometimes happened due to the bad trend in the stock market that was affecting the price of bitcoin.

Bitcoin and stable coins should be a part of your portfolio as you never know when the market would crash. And Bitcoin and stablecoin could be a safe investment at that time. But if the market goes bullish, which is in most case, holding large amount of stablecoin would be a loss. So, I generally recommend people to have at least 5% of their portfolio in bitcoin and some 10% as liquid stablecoin which goes in and out of different alts but mostly remains stable coin. And good altcoins are all you need to have good profit.

Holding Altcoin is nothing that brings good for you. Bitcoin broke its ATH multiple times but most of the Alts are downing like nothing just happened. It seems they didn't notice the Bull run of Bitcoin.

Why do you need others' suggestions? you are dumb or something else!! do your own speculations, Bitcoin is the king of the coins and institutions are continuously buying more and more coins during this bearish situation, why? cause institutions know we will see another mega run in this new year.

Sell shitcoins and buy Bitcoins as much as you can when you get money in your hand.

Focus more on accumulating bitcoin because that will always give you higher profits than any coin. Although there are gradual dumps happening in the market, but you know bitcoin won't be really in its deepest dip since it always recovers and start surging once there is an opportunity. Altcoins are certainly the alternatives for bitcoin but you need to be careful dealing with them and make sure you are into the main and strong altcoins. If you can hold bitcoin and popular altcoins, i think that will be a good diversification of portfolio.

Well, how do you know that this market cycle will be the same?

And what makes you think that we are entering a bear market anyway? Just because BTC and major alts dumped something like ~10% doesn't mean that we are necessarily entering a period of extreme bearishness.

Looking in the big picture, I think that it makes sense for people to move more into ETH and alts as opposed to BTC because of the obvious use cases associated with these other blockchains.

We didn’t  know what happen next in the market so no one can give you advice 100% accurrate of what action to do. We are all only predicting. All people involved in market made different decisions that is why there is the volatility in the prices of cryptocurrencies. In my own opinion stick to your own best strategy which you think you had the more advantage.
No one dares to give accurate advice if market conditions are like this, a careful strategy is needed to minimize the risks posed, we are only able to predict the outline, while certainty cannot be guaranteed under current conditions, many people make wrong decisions, so this will harm us, make a special study to get a conclusion, do not rely on something that will be detrimental, this will be uncertain in the current conditions.

If we enter to crypto, of course, we don't need stable coins, only suitable for trading to determine the price of altcoins, daring to take risks is the type of successful person because for big profits of course we must dare to invest in altcoins that can provide profits of up to hundreds of percent per year.

For almost 4 years I have never had a bitcoin balance, this is because holding bitcoin is very difficult for big profits, especially after the presence of stable coins which makes the value of altcoins valued in USD, no longer satoshi like the early presence of cryptocurrencies.

In is good that there is a platform where it is possible to monitor different new projects. Now appear a lot of different aggregators that allow to check all new projects that appear in the industry to find the best one.

There is a big demand for new and prospective projects that is why many investors are looking for them and monitors that allow finding these projects and cryptocurrencies.
Some altcoins grow in price even more than Bitcoin but it is necessary to find and evaluate these projects.

I will make altcoins an investment priority, this is because the opportunity to skyrocket is very large compared to bitcoin, it is almost impossible if we can profit 100% in a month, but many altcoins like MATIC, Cardano, or Shiba can go up more than 100% in a month.
In the short term, they're higher than bitcoin.

But for someone who sees the best for bitcoin in the long term, I'd say that it's really for the long term. Mentioning a meme coin, I'm doubting that it can perform the same as before.

It's not the same anymore as before that it will.

Bitcoin definitely if you are looking for long term investment. Altcoins if you want to play with the market and do short term investments. Pull the profits as fast as you can then buy back at times like this one.
Don't stick with stablecoins there is absolutely no profits on that. Better just hold the paper money than holding a risky stablecoin.
If you are looking for an altcoin to hold though, it will be difficult to precisely identify one that has a future. You could go for exchange coins like BNB but there is no assurance it could go the way you want it.

it all depends on the planning made. if the OP feels panicked because of the changing market situation, of course, the temptation is to sell the altcoins owned to get stable coins. this situation is normal and can re-enter when you feel the price has been at the bottom.
Don't be in too much of a hurry to convert assets to bitcoin. because the calculation of the altcoin market has a different movement with bitcoin. don't get trapped. unless the plan is changed for the long term.

Of course everyone has a different decision, depending on the strategy of each person. Both altcoins and Bitcoin are profitable, depending on how
we use them to make a profit. Most importantly avoid investing in stablecoins, because we will not make a profit by investing in stablecoins.
Usually I use stablecoins to store capital for trading, so as not to be affected by a volatile market. Bitcoin movement does look boring right now,
but have we forgotten how Bitcoin has moved since early 2021 until it reaches the ATH price, Bitcoin is moving very significantly even reaching ATH
twice in 2021. Indeed we have to be patient when investing in Bitcoin, so don't worry about seeing the boring Bitcoin movement right now,
but it won't be long before Bitcoin will skyrocket in price again. I already understand how Bitcoin works, so I'm not worried about Bitcoin's
current performance. I am optimistic that in 2022 the price of Bitcoin will be much higher than the price of Bitcoin in 2021.

This is tough to answer because this market cycle is unlike previous ones. Possibly we are in a long supercycle. Ideally one should acquire altcoins during bear markets and flip them to bitcoin during bull markets, so if you bought them at a recent top then it may be worth waiting for them to go back up. You want to buy altcoins when they are cheap relative to bitcoin and convert them to bitcoin when they are more valuable relative to it. So the timing to convert to bitcoin will depend on the individual case and when the alts were bought. Also, diversification is good, so that will always be a factor: in my view bitcoin should always be a core holding. Some percentage in stablecoins is also a good idea for some investors as it allows flexibility to reenter the market at opportune times.

I think holding altcoins to be an asset when this bear market is very risky to go down. It is highly recommended to keep assets in stable coins. I also don't recommend storing assets in bitcoin, usually a bear market hits flat with fluctuating meaning bitcoin and altcoins will inevitably go down. Of course, your assets will also be reduced.

Depends on the coin you selected since if the coin you pick is so shady also doesn't have any decent volume nor have proper plans set then we must back off on it. But if we stick on top alts and pick the one who listed above on the market and also we add up the presence and seriousness of the project since we really on it a little bit.

What you said is true. While others are really panicking when thinking and during bear market, some remain to be calm because they are confident with the coins and assets they have. This is why choosing what coin to invest with in the first place is really important, most especially considering its vulnerability to be significantly affected whenever the market move and changes, and the credibility of the project itself.

Well, as far as Bitcoin and stablecoins go, these are two completely different things. If Bitcoin goes down, it definitely will drag altcoins behind it. At that point, stablecoins are your safe haven. If Bitcoin goes up, some altcoins go up even harder. But then again, its anyone's guess as to which altcoins will go up most. So my strategy at that point is not to put all my eggs in a single basket. ;D

Well it is about belief. If you believe in bitcoin then you would know that it will do better and good even during the bad times, but if you do not believe in bitcoin all that much and you are only interested in making money then you will leave and be in panic mode. I have been around here for so long that I have seen prices under 100 bucks, so I do not get scared about crypto, I know that it will keep doing better and better, there is no way that I would lose anything in this world because I have made my profit already. I have taken out far more than what I have put in and that's more than enough for me.

This is why I am going to end up with no regrets even if bitcoin goes to zero one day, but I doubt that it will ever go under 20k let alone go to zero. Which is why I am pretty confident and believe in this, if you do not feel the same then panic selling is possible.

Personally what I would do is hold lots of coins and just forget about them for a while. Of course, top priority would be bitcoin followed by an alt of my choosing. Stablecoins won't really matter much IMO, as these can be frozen AFAIK so it's not a good thing holding them for so long. Holding varied coins will most probably save you from your coins' value crashing so hard, and may eventually lead you to even greater profits in the future.

Indeed. Having faith with your chosen coins, and continuing to believe that it will get better even when it faces the lows, is the key in successfully gaining from investments. It also nice to hear that you are saying this based on your experiences, which I think has made you even a strong believer of bitcoin. Yes, Altcoins dropped hard in this month also, on the contrary, I was expecting a bullish move of altcoins but market behave just opposite to my thinking but If you are sure shot about the market then stable coins are the best option because if the market drops further our holding value remains same and can buy back again when the market starts rising.

When there is a bearish market, it always hit hard on altcoin more than bitcoin. The type of altcoin you hodl will determine whether you ought to convert it to bitcoin or stablecoin. If you are hodling a potential coin, no need of converting it to bitcoin because there is a possibility that it will pump and give more profits than before.
You don't expect someone hodling BNB, Matic, youc in their portfolio to convert their token to bitcoin because of how the crypto market is bleeding

In the end stablecoin is stablecoin and it is dollars. If you really want to go to stablecoin route and be there just get dollars in regular fiat format and put it in your bank account. I personally disliked them ever since they were created and I feel like they are one of the reasons why bitcoin and crypto world is not growing at the rate it should be growing.

I get that it may not be super hard to do something in crypto that is regarding as little risk as stablecoins because they are just 1 and will stay at 1 (hopefully) but there is no reward neither aside from the stake you may get from places like binance and that's very little. I like buying both btc and alts so that I could improve the diversification and just be happy with the risks I am taking.

You should have a diversified portfolio if you want to get the maximum benefits in this crypto market. You should hold bitcoin and some good altcoins for long term. Do not sell them, even if the price go down as there is likely the chance that they will recover when the market goes back up.

Also you should always have some stable coins with you so that in case there is a sharp dip in the market, you can always buy some coins at cheap prices or use those stable coins for dollar cost averaging.

The smartest thing in the crypto market is to stick it is possible to make a profit from both bitcoin and altcoin through long term investment. The crypto market is not stable if you wait, you get double the benefits it would be nice to stick to altcoin there are lots of currencies out there and you can make a profit from one instead of the other but you have to move on with faith. It is a good idea to move forward with your intellect and keep it for a long time.

Now there is a big choice of different projects for investments where people can invest their money.

The most important for every project is to be useful and in demand for a long time.
So it is necessary to evaluate the future potential of the coin to invest in the coins that will be in demand and prospective in the future.

Bitcoin or stable coin are wonderful choices however it absolutely relies upon what your blueprint is. Are you good with how much Bitcoin you as of now own and simply need to hold always or until it arrive at your designated cost. Bitcoin dumps however in digital money am additionally after life span, and Bitcoin has finished that assessment one after the other.

If your goal of choosing a stablecoin is simply to protect your assets, that's fine as long as it's not your goal to invest in because you won't get any benefit from the stablecoin.
exchanging altcoins for bitcoins depends on your belief and research if you are not sure it is your right to make a decision but if the altcoins you own are the top and oldest and most trusted altcoins Just Hold On, because upgrades will definitely happen without you doing the exchange and anyway if you are in doubt there is no harm in exchanging it for bitcoin and for the long term.

The dip which we are currently experiencing do not affect all altcoins,
Selling your altcoins now and waiting for it to dump more then buy back to me is not the best idea.
Converting your altcoins to stable coin is also not a good idea because to the market is already on the highest dip of the year, selling now you are actually recording loss, because it's only when we sell off our token that we actually record loss.

To me the best thing to do now is hold your potential altcoins, if you have more left over fiat you buy the dip, and wait for the bull market to come.
Because selling and waiting for the the token to fall more can sometimes turns the other way round, where the token you sold and be waiting to buy back can just turns the table around within 3hrs.

The most important for every project is to be useful and in demand for a long time.
So it is necessary to evaluate the future potential of the coin to invest in the coins that will be in demand and prospective in the future.

After big growth, there is a fall in the price. Many altcoins are not suitable for long-term investments.
But it is possible to earn money on the volatility of the price. It is very important to buy and sell the assets in the right moment.

I have never owned bitcoin for almost 4 years, I can't wait to see the bitcoin price increase so I prefer to invest in altcoins, and it is proven that investing in altcoins like Ripple, BNB, Cardano and so on is proven to be more profitable than bitcoin.
For 4 years, that includes the long bear market and you have never took the chance of buying during that time? That's totally a skip you did for that very gold opportunity. Because many have been telling the same thing that they've missed 2018's bitcoin price because it's too cheap. But with your decision now, you're leaning into altcoins and good luck with that because a few of them really are profitable. You just have to make a good choice but if I'm you, still take a chance to have bitcoin no matter what season is. If you're a visionary, you should really do it.

I think all these are matter of choice and mindset, some traders stick to Bitcoin while some keep holding their altcoins. But what I really do is to hold some usdt or BUSD and wait for more dump in the market then I buy my crypto coin of choice then sell when market recover.

It's depends on trading or investing, short term or long term investment etc. Make a plan and go on, no one can step in your decision. My advice is choose stable coins, but wherever you stick move sensibly and make a profit and grow. Experience is your master key so use it wisely.

Of course I will choose altcoins over bitcoin, there are always many surprises and huge profit opportunities that make me prefer to invest in altcoins than bitcoin, especially the transaction fees are very expensive and I only rely on small capital so holding bitcoin will not be able to make a big profit.

Then it means you like big risks. In the current environment, as Bitcoin's price is falling, altcoins are dropping even more. Of course, when the Bitcoin price starts to rise, you have a chance to earn a lot, but in the current situation, in my opinion, this is not the best idea. In my opinion, the best solution today is to keep stablecoins and wait for the market to calm down.

it all goes down to how much you have that you are willing to invest in the market, you can't invest $300 in bitcoin and be expecting a good return, but $300 can turn into thousands of dollars when you invest it in altcoins, as for stable coin it's best when the market is dumping then you buy the dip, take a look at Shiba inu for instance $300 invested in the first few weeks when it was launched brought a huge amount of money, so I will stick to altcoins

We are in a downtrend so you are much more likely to lose than earn. At such times, it is best to wait through the difficult period by keeping your funds in stablecoins.

Market is witnessing some gradual dumps and it's a know fact that altcoins will bleed more than bitcoin and they will be stable or recover only when bitcoin recovers and pumps. So will it be wise to hold on to Altcoin or switch to Bitcoin or convert the funds into stablecoins and wait for market to either start recovering or to dump further to buy more in order to reach breakthrough for the lose which we might have incurred till now.
you have to understand that if you do a cut-loss at this time, it is certain that you have already lost, it will be difficult to make a profit in the future

if you have bitcoin or altcoin whose value has dropped drastically since you bought it, the wisest way is to "hold" until the market returns to bulls and your initial capital is back, don't swap it to stable coin

I agree on you. Patient people are most likely that will succeed in the long run. So if you can't be patient this time since the market is still experiencing price dumps, then prepare yourself for losses in the future. If you have bitcoin and altcoins in your portfolio, i think you don't have to look for another initiative just to be profitable. Just understand what the market is going through, because when the market recovers, you will be making huge profits already. Just hold your coins for now, and be profitable in the future.

The bold part is everything you need to know when making your decision. It's logical bitcoin is the best alternative since it's well known the market is only going to recover as a whole when bitcoin recovers itself. Without a strong and pumping bitcoin there isn't profit through altcoins as well. When you hold bitcoin you have the assurance sooner or later it will rise again, but when you hold an altcoin you never know if it's going to increase in value once more, because although there is a chance it's going to be influenced by bitcoin price during a future bull run, it's not a guarantee at all. In crypto market bitcoin is a safe bet, so of course it's better to stick with it.

Obviously I think there are some people who should convert to stablecoins because they know that stablecoins are pegged to fiat, fiat will also be devalued, but fiat is preferred for this period as the market starts to gradually decline thus completely eliminating the risk. Either holding Bitcoin or stablecoin is the most appropriate choice, but it totally depends on what your game plan is, if holding bitcoin, stablecoin, that's better.

In a situation where the cryptocurrency market is volatile, the best solution is to keep your money in stablecoins. However, no one knows when prices will start to rise. If the Bitcoin price starts to rise now, altcoins are the best investment because they are the most undervalued.
It all depends on who likes what risks. If someone believes that altcoins are the future, in my opinion, he should invest in altcoins, because in a year he will be drinking champagne on an exotic beach. This is what investing in cryptocurrencies is all about.

actually, it all depends on the type of altcoin you hold. if it is a popular coin like BNB, ETH, and other popular coins, it would be better if you keep holding it until the price goes up, and buy bitcoins using your other assets. however, if you want to hold the stablecoin right now, well, selling your assets at any time would look fine as long as you accept everything that could happen. If it's a dump, you get the chance to re-stock even more, and if it's a pump, you're at a loss. Personally, I'd stick with popular coins, and stock up on bitcoins if I wanted to. currently looks pretty good condition.

Like you said, it depends on the choices but a general rule of thumb is to diversify one's crypto portfolio because like every other market, crypto market also comes with its own risks which makes it quite a volatile market. It is recommended by many proven traders that we should always ladder sell towards a top (aka taking profits) and keep this funds for when the market corrects (it usually does) use it tobuy back your stack with a nice increase too  :)

In theory it would definitely make sense to transfer your funds from highly volatile altcoins into Bitcoin or even better in stablecoins like USDT or USDC before a bear market comes. By doing that you have saved your profits (when you transferred it to stable coins) or you increased your Bitcoin holdings and once the market hit's a low you can use that money again to buy back for example 3 times the amount of those tokens that you sold before.
The BIG problem is though that you would need to know how the market develops in the future (which is basically true for every investment) in order for that strategy to work perfectly. It is also possible that you sell your altcoins only one day before they make a x2 or something.

It's okay if you switch to other currency and buy it at dip again. But why would you minimize your earnings if you can afford it with your spare money? While the altcoins on dip, you can just switch to Bitcoin and spare some into stablecoins. Or even just invest on all of those(altcoins, bitcoins and stablecoins) for more earnings. It takes lot of efforts but the earnings will worth more.

When cryptocurrency market falls stablecoins become very popular. People use stablecoins to fix their profit and safe their funds.
Also stablecoins are popular in trading.

After the raise of the market there is a fall of the market. Fall of the market allows traders to earn money such as the raise of the market.
Also falls of the market is a good reason to buy cryptoassets for the best price.

^^ Perhaps what you meant is a bear market. But yes, that is right, it's a perfect time to accumulate many crypto that time because the price is going to be cheap.

So for me, it's not that bad to have altcoins in your portfolio in this bear market because many of them are going to fall very hard. Maybe even those that are in the 3 digits will go down to 2 if the bear market will be like in 2018.

I think that each person has a way of seeing things in life, and just as they see them, they have another way of seeing their businesses, and in turn the market, but if they have altcoins at the moment, it is not a good decision to sell to buy BTC, BTC will rise in price, it will, and when it passes all the altcoins will begin to rise in price, that is something that will always be fulfilled, the rest for now is to be patient, and wait as long as necessary , I do not recommend buying BTC if there is no money, nor changing the altcoins for BTC right now, although the btc is somewhat cheap, it is available to the person wanting to buy BTC with the stablecoin, which would not be a bad idea.

Fall of the market offers a lot of opportunities too.

The fall of the market is a good opportunity to earn money for traders but not for investors.
Usually investors earn money on the raise of the market but during the fall the sell the assets or lose money.

There's a crypto cycle which will be beneficial to you if you follow it. The start of the cycle was the pump of Bitcoin then Big marketcap altcoins will and  lastly small caps coins. If you know this pattern, You can easily switch asset base on the current trend on crypto, There's a time that you will have more profit on Bitcoin compared to altcoin so it will be beneficial if you have knowledge about it.

When market falls stablecoins becomes very popular and demand in them increases.
Also stablecoins actively use traders and trading volumes of USDT is very high and take a 2nd place after Bitcoin.

Traders earn money even on the fall of the market.
For investors fall of the market is a good time to buy the tokens for the best price.
But it is very important to check everything and evaluate the potential of the coin before investment.

if current market conditions continue to deteriorate into the future then saving our assets in stablecoins is the right solution, but if the market will improve slowly then just save your assets in the form of altcoins, in my opinion this is a good solution
I believe that is a decision investors should have made since after Nov 10 2021 when we started experiencing this downtrend and if you have not done that since I believe you had rather Hodl your crypto assets because I think we might start seeing an upward trend sooner from looking at the daily Bitcoin price chat and also I believe the next weekly candle by 24 Jan 2022 might likely ba a Bullish start.

We have noticed that the market is gradually going down. At this time you have to invest very carefully and I prefer short term investment. Bitcoin and altcoins are all volatile. So I convert my assets to stablecoin.
That's a pretty good thing, because if you look at the market that is currently very irregular, I think it's a wise choice to be on a stable coin because the risk is still quite small compared to being in alt or bitcoin.
but as you said, this is only for the short term and when the market returns to a bull run it would be great when we switch back to assets that we want both alt and bitcoin.

There is sudden rise in the market and the same made Bitcoin touch $43000, following there is around +2% growth with altcoins. This didn't last for much time, the market was at the top for few hours and has declined steep back to the $41000 range. There is no big deflection in the altcoins market, probably this trend can continue. Or else this can be a market correction for a forward push.

I think that now the best option is to buy blockchain tokens, since this is where all the capital flows. In addition, there are large sums of money for development, and we have already seen that they hold up well despite the fall of the market. Personally, I prefer NEAR ATOM

Excuse me, the way you say it is as if you were promoting that coin, however some things you say are true, in this market it is for the best opportunities, I know that people who manage to buy any altcoin can enjoy great benefits when BTC reaches its bullish trend again, however all tokens depend on the price of BTC, it is very difficult for the token to see rise, if they do it is because it is in constant pump and dump, it is very common and there are many projects that are being developed currently for that, like NFTs which mostly turn out to be scam.

If you're searching for a long-term investment, Bitcoin is a must. Altcoins are useful if you want to experiment with the market and make short-term investments. Profits should be taken as quickly as possible, and then repurchased at times like this.
Don't rely on stablecoins because there are no gains to be made. Owning paper money is preferable to holding a dangerous stablecoin.
However, if you are searching for a cryptocurrency to hold, Look for good launchpad such as DAO maker. I just managed to join their best sales on the launchpad that had the highest ROI in 2021. Pretty cool!

So will it be wise to hold on to Altcoin or switch to Bitcoin or convert the funds into stablecoins and wait for market to either start recovering or to dump further to buy more in order to reach breakthrough for the lose which we might have incurred till now.

In bear markets alts typically get hammered on price because  in a bull market most are just pumps toys to get more bitcoin in the first place.  So when there is no more excitement or pumps there is zero reason to buy.  Smart money is in bitcoin right now.

When cryptocurrency market falls there is a big demand for stablecoins.
That is why during fall of the market a lot  of new stablecoins appear and stablecoins become very popular.
Because it saves the wealth and profit of everyone but it's also common of being picky in choosing stable coins.

There are stable coins that you shouldn't trust and you shouldn't pick because they have some issues. Before you choose one, you need to do your own research because it can affect yourself and how you're holding it.

You don't like a stable coin that can potential freeze anyone's money.

but most stablecoins have that kind of issue, even usdt. they can freeze your money for whatever the reason they deem applicable. so in my opinion, it is good if you will only convert some of your funds to stablecoin to avoid losses in the market. but am suggesting, don't hold too long. you have no idea about their true backing here.
i am more confident to store it in btc, but everyone has their own decision towards this matter. if you will go into stablecoin, at least choose what is the reputable one in the market.

If you decide to convert your altcoins into stablecoins right now I guess it is too late because the market is already on dipping, I don't think if it is wise to convert into stable coins, you really lose money if you do that. Holding is really good option for now just be patient until the market recovers. If the market is dumping again then you can buy more.

You are right, I have a friend who had a strong investment in Polkadot and Solana, also in Matic and he couldn't stand to see his fiat value coins drop in price, he converted everything to FIAT and amassed a loss of almost 500usd, the truth It seemed to me that it was a very bad decision, I lost nothing by letting them increase in price, however it is his money and only he has access to it and to make his own decisions, if that money had been mine, for nothing in the world I pass it to FIAT. And he lost much more, because everything was initially transferred to USDT and from there he took it to FIAT and when he transferred it he had to transfer it to the local currency so that he could make the change to FIAT in foreign currency, in total he made 3 exchanges where he lost In each one.

Now for me big opportunity to buy  some high potential coin like ADA,Dot,Bnb for ling term. When market recover these coins can give us best profit.

For long-term investors, this is a very good time to buy cryptocurrencies (basically all of the top100 from Coinmarketcap). Investors who speculate for short periods of time now have a big problem, because it is completely unclear whether there will be further price drops or whether we will return to the uptrend. I think everything will clear up in the next few days.

I think it depends on the individual strategy, if the current downturn you feel that the market will continue to decline further then you can convert some of the funds from your portfolio into stablecoins, but if I personally when there is a downturn like now then I will choose to hold and leverage this decline to make more purchases because I firmly believe that bitcoin can provide greater returns when the market bounces back.

If we want to switchh assets to stable coins of course when we get big profits, it is a mistake if we move to bitcoin or stable coins at this time because the market is down, it's better to hold or buy more because I'm sure the market will recover soon.

I think altcoins are still the main choice, don't be afraid anymore to hold ETH, BNB, Terra or other altcoins because the potential is still bigger than bitcoin, to go up 10x in a year of course it's easier for us to get by investing in altcoins because the price of bitcoin is too expensive so hard to go up 2x in a year.

I think before you invest in any particular coin you would have done your research very well about the project before investing. If you can trust a coin and invest in it while can't you hodl until the bearish market is over. The bearish won't last forever, there's always a better side out of it. All you gat to do is to relax your mind and focus on the future best of that altcoin you hodl in your portfolio

I think it's better if we hold the altcoins if they have suffered losses and buy more coins until there is an increase in the future. rather than having to accept losses, it is better to hold it if the latcoin has the potential to grow in the future. if what you have is an undeveloped altcoin then you better sell it and buy a stablecoin, so you can save the assets you have

The use of usdt to establish a better protection of the value of our money is not bad, especially when you have some knowledge and you can intuit that the market may go down, unless you can stop losses it is something that is not bad to recommend it, but at this point if you bought altcoins when the BTC was at $60k or more I would not advise, I would prefer that you not think about the value in FIAT but about the altcoin you have, this so that psychologically you do not have a feeling of guilt, I would strongly recommend hodl until the BTC market recovers, it is the best because there would be an opportunity to recover everything and make a profit.

This is what I do.

If I'm at loss, there's no selling that shall happen until I recover from that altcoin. And if possible and doable having a budget by that time, I'll buy.

If the situation permits that holding would be the best choice at that time, I'll have it on hold and won't accept the defeat of selling at loss. It's normal to cut loss but if you've been having a tremendous loss for that coin, it's the crucial part and you have to decide to hold or sell but I choose to hold.

I prefer to gain some profit from bitcoin price changes, take profit and reinvest. Even though I dont panic when market goes deep red and I am an experienced holder, can hold altcoins until their price double, triple or skyrocket, I prefer take less profit and often, then one time a year or later.

I think it's good to take advantage of the current moment, holding altcoins, bitcoins, or stable coins is not the best choice.
If you are able to play in the bear market well, you only need to act like an ordinary trader without the need to maintain one of them.
I know this may be very difficult and of course we have a heart that always panics every time we trade, but I am sure that with high experience it is not impossible.

Because in my opinion, if the market has dropped and then we just walk away from altcoins by saving stablecoin it doesn't make our assets increase,
it even makes us lazy to return to the market. It only takes experience and also the courage to make decisions, gaining momentum in a bear market is not difficult.

The decision of whether to stick with altcoin or switch to Bitcoin or stablecoin is dependent on the strategy you wish to employ. I'm of the opinion that the best or most lucrative would be to convert to stable coin when we have falling prices and reinvest in altcoin or bitcoin when the value is lower.
Even though most regard Bitcoin as the best choice in cryptocurrency investments we do however understand that there are good Alts to invest in too and not unless you want to sell to protect loss of fund during market downside, stable coins ain't really an option for investment as you have said so if OP has the investment capability, both Bitcoin and Altcoins are good for investment you just have to enter the good ones.

That is because Bitcoin is known to profit compared to altcoins and besides, the entire market seems to rely upon Bitcoin. And whatever happens to Bitcoin, this will also happen to the rest of cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin - long-term investment
Altcoins - mostly for short-term
Stablecoins - I convert my coins if the market dumps likely just an exit investment in order to secure our funds from not losing it.

Why would you sell if your only goal is to protect your coins or avoid losses? but the best solution for this is by using a stable coin. You must only sell if you want to make a profit or if you decide to cut loss the moment you have already incurred some losses. So, stop staying now that stable coins are useless because maybe you only didn't know their true value or their purpose.

You should try to use them sometimes and see for your self and of course if our goal when we invest is to make a profit, stable coins should not be the only one that we will pick but we also need altcoins if not bitcoins or you can just pick both of them in case you want to diversify your funds.

Stablecoins are a bit risky to me because they are based on companies. Otherwise they are really good investments as well. There are places that offer 10% to stablecoins, and I would like to make that much from it to be fair. Like if I invest 10k BUSD into a place and make 10% BUSD yearly, that is not bad, but how could I be sure that BUSD will stay? What if binance packs things up and leaves like mt.gox did?

However, I do agree that alts are far superior if you are looking at short term, in 20 years btc will beat almost any coin, but in 1 year terms there will be plenty of tokens and coins that will make you a lot more money than bitcoin could.

Have you reached your targeted price for your investment? If you have reached what you have set as a target before investing, then maybe it is time that you switch to stable coins. But if not, then I think you should just keep holding the coins you are holding.

Although it would depend on the coins, if the alternative coins that you are holding are the ones like Ethereum, BNB and other top altcoins in the market, then you might have to keep on holding those coins, because they definitely going to increase in value since most of them on top of the list usually correlate with Bitcoins price. If it’s not the top coins, maybe it’s high time that you just sell them and convert to Bitcoin.

I diversify with coins in My Portfolio, and it is mostly with top coins in the market that has huge market cap. I invested in ETH, and no matter how bad the market gets, I don’t really convert my ethereum to Bitcoin, because I think the both of them are good and is still just going to be the same thing, not much difference. I also have invested in Bitcoin, and majority of my investment goes into Bitcoin.

I always put about 60% of my investment capital in Bitcoin, and thenthe remaining 40% is what goes to altcoins, and about 20% of the capital would go to top altcoins I like, while the remaining 20% would go to any other project that I feel is going to be worth investing, but if I can’t find any good project I just put all of them in Bitcoin and the other top coins.

It depends on trust factor and which coin you trust more. Generally, I don't move or convert my coins to other coins. I keep trust on my holdings but honestly speaking if you can identify the market trend of bear or bull then one should convert his coins according to the market sentiments to be safer side always.
