Generally speaking, you are very far from the truth when it comes to cryptocurrencies, because a very small percentage even manage to survive the first year, not to mention that after 2+ years they disappear as if they never existed. Bitcoin is an exception (for now), as are some altcoins that have a significant user base, but here we are talking about maybe 1% of all cryptocurrencies that have ever existed, and hundreds of new ones appear every month.

Investing in cryptocurrencies is no guarantee that someone will not remain poor, many have lost everything they had believing the false promises of various crypto projects that were nothing more than a weak mirage. It isn't the truth with every cryptocurrency. Till date we've got 16847 cryptocurrencies based on the coinmarketcap data. Among this how many were known to the people. Over time the purchasing power of dollar have decreased, but here so many cryptocurrencies have got out of usage. Another thing in 100+ years dollar have experienced such an inflation. Yes, Fiat is inflationary as f. but some crypto currencies has bigger inflation rate than that.

We can normally see that crypto has 15-30% inflation rate per year and currently fiat is around 4-10%.
So with regards to inflation, crypto has bigger inflation rate. But crypto and fiat are different, Crypto is like an asset that where the
price increase, just like stocks or share. but in fiat you can't do that.

I am glad that you pointed out this, giving such definitive statements is most of the time a problem, but it is even more problematic when we can easily prove this is not the case, thousands of coins are created each year and only a small number of those coins succeed, also even if I think that bitcoin is the exception to this rule it is not as if there are not many other investment options out there for the smart investor to take advantage of and avoid a life of poverty, and even enjoy a life of riches if they are extremely talented at finding good opportunities outside this market.

Agree with OP. Fiat losing value day by day, its not all about US currency, all fiat value goes down. Once we notice increasing price of our daily needs, means fiat value decreasing. And in the current world's economy we can see reflection of daily needs prices. However, investing crypto is the best choose to increase your portfolio if you have patience. You need hold for longer, because always can't make profit from cryptocurrency instantly.

Holding fiat in Bank wouldn't help us to increase our wealth. But if we could take risks then crypto would change our life once a time. But keep in mind, everyone can't be a gainer from crypto. It's because once you are gaining someone loses on the other hand.

What about the risk factor? You cannot please everyone and not just anyone have the courage to buy cryptocurrencies or Bitcoin. Traditional thing is to save money in the bank, in fiat. Cash has its place. It is not completely useless. As long as you don't hold huge amounts, it is fine to hold some cash for emergency use. Bitcoin and other crypto aren't risk-free neither. Pakistan banned crypto and some other country which I forgot banned it too recently. If you were living one of those countries and you had your life savings in crypto, your life would become pretty shitty right now. Imagine having all that money in crypto but you can't spend it, you can't convert it to your local currency because of the law. Your only choice is the black market and god knows what is going to happen to you there. I guess diversifying is a good idea. Don't go all in with one position.

I am in agreement that holding wealth in fiat is a very bad idea and is a definitely going to lead to devaluation of your wealth overtime. Some parties may not agree however that cryptocurrency bitcoin is the best alternative. One popular idea you will get here is, 'do not invest more than you can afford to lose', so you cannot use bitcoin as a primary store of value as majority of your wealth is too much to lose.

There was a thread some time back discussing how bitcoiners may be storing majority of their wealth in bitcoin as the alternatives are not as attractive to them, I would say; if you trust the network and can bear the risks involved, then you can lean your investments into bitcoin.

I agree obviously but it isn't an easy all for one one for all.  I'd say 99% of the cryptos that are created will eventually lose 100% of their purchasing power.  The problem with crypto is weeding through all the garbage.  Just stick with bitcoin for the majority of your portfolio and you should be fine, but people gamble too much on all of these "projects".

We cannot forget the fluctuations and market diversity that sometimes discourage investors and traders from leaving one crypto for another. So in this case I think it would be more appropriate if "cryptocurrency will always gain value over time" to "Bitcoin will always gain value over time".

That would sound more specific, rather than general. Because in the figure of speech the specific statement refers more.

Risks is always been part of investment and it should really be that a basic thing on which you should be aware about whenever you had decided to step your foot into this market.There's no such thing

Seems those kinds of narratives are making cryptocurrency as a get cash quick scheme whereas we already saw some people are allured here because of it. There is no doubt that crypto is the best choice to get rid of inflation but you have to understand it's a very risky place too. 100 new projects coming every day with new promises. Well in the first place wouldn't the ones able to buy crypto in the first place the not poor ones? Most people use fiat simply because they can't afford to invest in anything else, though if one has savings somewhere that is just sitting in fiat, well now that is the time then to actually invest it in something and not let it sit there. I'd recommend crypto really, but spreading your assets to other investments should also do you good, just so that you can avoid getting destroyed by the volatility of the crypto market. Actually what the OP says is true of investments in general. Before Bitcoin came along, it could be applied to stocks of good companies, gold, Real Estate, etc. Investing, apart from wanting to make a return, is a way to hedge against inflation. With the Bitcoin, we have the best asset to protect against inflation and the most profitable, at least so far, since its creation. Quite right, I also tend to believe that fiat money will simply disappear and there will only be digital money with which it will be possible to carry out financial transactions. So time goes forward and the entire banking system will change with the transition to cryptocurrency. Comparing 1913 dollar value to today's value is a bit misleading on it's own because the salaries also changed a lot compared to 109 years ago. With a good salary today we can save much more than back in the days. I agree with you that inflation is the biggest risk we face today. For more than 10 years we have been in a low interest rate environment waiting for inflation to pick. This is politically motivated so people don't leave their money in a savings account. The government tries to force us to invest our money. To get around it the only real alternative is to save money in crypto currencies. It doesn't seem like that inflation is going to slow down in the near future. The biggest mistake is right now is to keep fiat money at the bank with 0% interest rate.

Yes for the fact that fiat has been losing its value and it has been created to lose its value because of its unlimited supply.
No because buying crypto isn't mean that you will already be rich. Most of the investors who tried to invest into crypto ended up as losers. Why? They just invested just because they are greedy enough that they didn't learn anything about crypto including its risks.

The fact is that we use crypto to buy housing and buy a loaf of bread to eat. Fiat will not disappear, but its value will continue to decrease over time. I would say that 1913 to today salaries did not change as well as it should. The reality is that people in 50s and 60s worked in silly jobs and still managed to buy a house. Tell me, what are the chances of a 30 year old to buy a house, all debts paid off? I can tell you that it is near zero except a few very rich ones.

Definitely there are rich people in all generations, Mark Zuckerberg had billions before he was 30, but do we base the whole generation on that? We have people who are at great jobs who still fail to buy a house, even software developers who are seen as one of the highest paid people end up not being able to buy a decent house, maybe a 1 room apartment but that's it. So, there is something going very wrong with this calculation.

House is just one example, from school to medical there are many other sectors that we can take a look at. What got better? Working conditions are definitely far better these days, and tech is better too so you get more help instead of doing manual labor all the time.

There are lots of traditional investments which could really give out the chance for you to be financially free but of course this isnt something simple that you could able to

Basically, nobody gets rich If they don't want to engage in any investment including crypto. If they keep on working for their day job, nothing will happen but your financial status will always come in circle.

Well some people get rich from doing corruption in government ::), many middle income people just do work then get home and then get loans and their life just like that for years because they already feel enough from what they have like a stable income and simple life. Some people who already invest in cryptocurrencies had losses because they sold when the bear market happening and they blame cryptocurrencies for scam etc.

Inflation is nothing new. Sure lots of money was printed but the fed is doing tapering and we are going to get lots of fed rate increase this year.

We already see that the financial markets don’t care about covid. So I don’t think the fed is going to reverse their decision. With this we should see inflation go down within the next year or so.

What will happen with stock market or crypto, nobody knows but inflation should go down to the 2% annual rate.

Taking risks on something we have zero knowledge is also a bad decision that is why I said it may not be suitable for everyone. But once they're into the field they will gather knowledge, experience with ups and downs will teach a lot of things for them then they will surely excel in what they are doing.

Never stretch your finances too much... but I guess almost anyone can afford to buy some crypto and put it on a side! People who have done that in the past 10 years don't regret it, while fiat is losing value some cryptocurrencies made new records!

When i used the word "cryptocurrency" I didn't mean cryptocurrencies in general, I already know that most crypto coins and tokens are scams, some fake and others rug pools.
But what I expect of me, you and every one else is to know the right cryptocurrency to invest in that will guarantee profit at the end of a certain period like every year or maybe 6 months.

One way to know that fiat are useless is to keep $100 usd in fiat and buy $100 usd worth of the right crypto coin(it must not always be bitcoin, there are several other very legitimate cryptos out there), now, give both 10 years.
In 10 years time, your $100 usd in fiat can not by you a car(under no circumstances will it) but your $100 usd in the right crypto coin has a very high chance of buying you a car (might not be your dream car but it sure can buy you a car).

It would really vary on interest and we know that not all is poor, it is really just that they couldnt really just made out some action on how to dealt with crypto but instead they do go
on having that observation and just tending to see if others does made out that good decision but of course i do really agree on that thing on where crypto could pull you

But who are all saving in fiats? I read the interest on bank savings like deposits are yielding at a rate which is lower than inflation rate. So, there will be no point of keeping fiats at interest rate lower than the rate at which day-to-day products are increasing.

I am one of those people who changed their economy after investing in crypto, especially in 2021 some coins managed to break new records.
This made me make a very large profit, since the crypto price experienced a correction at the end of 2021, it was my chance to start buying
crypto again. As long as we buy potential coins, then we can be patient waiting for the price to go up, then we can generate a fairly large profit.
Crypto does provide an opportunity for everyone to be rich, but that does not mean it can be achieved instantly. It took a long process to go
through, so getting rich from investing in crypto is not easy, so it takes hard work to achieve it. If we have tried investing in crypto but still
haven't succeeded, don't give up quickly, continue to learn well about crypto. In order to understand how to effectively make a profit from crypto,

Yes that is the truth, I’ve seen so many people who were able to start living a better life and escape from poverty through Bitcoin. Although it is usually not easy, and it is never the same story for everyone that invest in Bitcoin, but I believe that anyone who makes a proper plan for themselves to achieve something through Bitcoin, would always achieve it.

Buying crypto requires pretty good funding amount in our banks tbh. You cant just throw away the bones in front of crypto. We literally need big efforts to earn something from the crypto also and moreover holding is another level challenge for normal peeps. My own experience have been tough in the crypto while holding it. No matter what if the crypto is at its peak we end up selling it and making profits; thats good but it takes whole lot of efforts to put back money.

This buying and selling process in the crypto environment is not making sense for many users and thus we are not able to hold it or use it on regular basis.

Whenever I am investing in cryptocurrency, I don’t really diversify that much, my main targets are usually just Bitcoin and Ethereum. Although as of recent I’ve decided to add Cardano to the list of cryptocurrencies that I’m investing in. I’m not the type of investor that likes buying too many cryptocurrencies, especially the new ones in the market, because I know very well that most of them in the market are not really like Bitcoin and wouldn’t last that long.

So, anyone that is investing should also be very careful and know the particular coins that they are investing their money in, so that they can avoid losing funds in the future. Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency for me that I know is really worth it, and then it is followed by Ethereum and a few others that are quite good.

Remember crypto is volatile making it's price unstable and full of risk. I get your point in driving home the need to invest in cryptocurrency but at least you should be fair enough to talk about the more risk tendency involved in cryptocurrency over fiat other than paint it look like it's a way to express massive wealth without first highlighting the dangers involved. Elon musk himself doesn't have a his assets in cryptocurrency he too diversify. Having a well structured portfolio which encompasses fiat, crypto and other centralized investment could be a balanced sheet mostly for the down times

For most newbies the risk factor is something they never take into account, after all they believe that just by investing in this market they are going to become rich so it is obvious they will never take something like that into consideration, which is a problem, we know that governments are printing too much money and that is reducing what you can buy with the same amount of fiat, but it is not as if this market has no risks either, and it is because of those risks that newbies that have no knowledge about how to protect themselves from those dangers end up losing their money.

Learning do comes after a disaster and this is where noobs do usually learn and not before which it is a must thing to consider first when you do made out some engagement on this market.

Even if we are not "rich" it still makes us "richer", and that is usually the confusion people have. Yes we are not rich at all, even if you are still poor after investing into crypto, that doesn't mean that you are poorer, it just means you are richer but even your richer version is still poor. Someone who makes 150-200 dollars a month as salary in a third world country making maybe 50 bucks a month from crypto a month will not be rich, they will still be poor, but at least they are richer than before they got into crypto.

Consider ALL the ways you could make money in the crypto world by working here, all those campaigns, twitter giveaways, airdrops and god knows how many other methods, all of that could be as much as 100 bucks a month easily, for third world nation poor people that is a lot of money. People need to realize the difference between rich and richer.

Honestly, it's encouraging me when I see myself holding a pile of cash. But that won't go anywhere because I have to spend them for the bills and other expenses and needs.

there are many ways how to invest your money, not only in crypto. some people are not good in trading so they will opt for other tangible assets like real-estate. so for me, not all crypto users or traders will attain the same success. it depends on how you manage your funds not only in crypto but in fiat as well.

Indeed. Crypto is profitable for someone who has knowledge about it and know how to take advantage every situation. Its not a guarantee that you'll gain but there's a high chance. In fact many investors already become a huge gainer. But its not for everyone because its not easy as it seems unless if you're really determine to learn and make money from it.

Its part of it, the fiat, inflation will never be avoided. The reason why we invest is to make a profit and as well as fight and hedge against inflation.

There are investors that are not fond of investing in crypto but they're still investors because they've invested in other assets. As long as they're able to have their own investments, I think that's what matters.

There are some people who are dirt poor and in debt, trying anything to find a way out but having no funds at all to start. A small group of people will have gotten lucky enough to cash out Bitcoin at the right times (note: converted to fiat) and are living a very comfortable life right now. There are others who come here out of curiosity, to keep up to date with crypto news but have their investments held in other places. It's simply a ridiculous and mindless philosophy to "hold forever" because people need fiat currency to live in the real world, you must convert it to enjoy any potential gains. Plenty of people keep money in the stock market which has beaten inflation over the long term and will also be a method of support.

Money could always be grown, you could find ways to grow your money but that amount could still fail under the inflation level, that is the problem. If I get 5% raise in USA this year, that doesn't mean I grew in salary, it means I lost money because of inflation. People long forgotten this and just accepted their faith, but the reality is that we could always make a request to our jobs to give us a better pay.

With the amount of people quitting and becoming antiwork, you will soon realize that companies who used to pay very little just to make some more profit, will end up paying more to continue making a profit. All the companies will have to accept the fact that they need to pay more. That's the weird thing about the life we are living today. Some people are expecting poor people to just barely have enough to shelter themselves and eat food, literally all they should be doing. When minimum wage was first introduced, that was a standard of living, it meant that you could have a house, a kid or two, a car, and health insurance or just not be afraid of going to the doctors, and education.

All could be paid via minimum wage, basically all basic needs there, and you could even go to movies and plays and such, not all the time but at least once a month without a problem, and even dine outside once a week. Nowadays, what does minimum wage bring? Barely enough to pay the rent, and maybe enough to eat good food, sometimes not even that much, people with minimum wage can pay their rent, bills and food, that's it, 3 items and done, don't even consider getting sick.

That's what most wise people believe so as much as possible, they always grab chances that will eventually change their lives for the better. I really think that if we make an extra effort to make changes, it will always be possible because we have our own talent and skills that we can use to survive. I think, all people will feel inflation. as you said, inflation will cause the price of goods to rise, and when that happens, the poor will get worse and can't buy it. in fact, before, their needs were not met, and as prices continued to rise, they would feel that it was becoming more and more difficult.

It’s not really about people being afraid of showing their money to the government, there is huge inflation, and there has beena serious inflation since 2021 that the coronavirus started. So, this is really affecting the Fiat currency, and investors or people who are really wise enough already knows that they are meant to diversify their assets and money. They can’t just continue to hold their fiat when it is already losing its value, these people will be at loss at the end.

So, the best decision that they can make for themselves and their family, and also for their businesses is to start investing in any good asset that can help them to retain their value of their money. If they keep on with the Fiat, then as the inflation increases and the value of Fiat decreases, then that’s going to be their fate.

Studies around the topic of inflation have shown that the most affected by it are the middle class, the rich have no problem dealing with it because most of their fortune is not in fiat but in hard assets, like real estate, precious metals, art or their own companies, the poor do in fact suffer because of inflation but since the amount of money they have is low they are not affected as much either, the ones that suffers the most is the middle class, as most of their net worth is in their house which they owe and with inflation the interest rates go higher and they cannot pay their house until they lose it, becoming poor in the process.

That is a little bit desperate seeing these poor people lose more opportunities while these rich people have plenty. It is somehow a real talk but I don't think that would stop them to invest and let their life live being poor forever as there are so many ways to change it, and first is our mindset. If they keep being negative, being doubtful, and doing nothing, they will never change their lives but stay poor.

let me tell you a little story; 2 days ago I read the status of my Facebook friend who mocked about the current dip market and said that those who are in crypto are dreamers. After I asked him what his job was and did he know what bitcoin was, he replied that he was only a debt collector and had never bought Bitcoin.

from what I have experienced it can be concluded that those who have never bought Bitcoin will forever be in their poverty, their knowledge will always be shallow and the future is uncertain they will experience because from the start they did not have confidence in the potential of Bitcoin.

They are stuck on their current situation even if they do a lot of hard work on their jobs its because they didn't go outside on their comfort zone and stay on what they think they can earn a living just like working on 9-5 jobs. For sure those working on that set up have limited resourcers and can only provide their needs in a day without having any extra money left to them and mostly majority of them are in debt due to certain circumstances. And if majority will just explore on new opportunities like what we have today upon buying bitcoin for sure their they can change their lives since we know how big the potential of bitcoin to change life of individuals.

Unfortunately looking at the economy of the world around 40% or so people can't afford anything more. That is a sad statistic but unfortunately that is the reality we have to live. Around 40% of the people in the world have either 3 foods + shelter levels of economy or even worse, starving, starvation is still a reality all around the world.

So, the number of people who can barely afford those basic needs is a lot ,and that is obviously caused by inequality, and ruthlessness as well. We keep saying Elon Musk deserved his money, and Jeff Bezos did as well, and to all other rich people.

However, does that mean "if x person is rich thanks to his talent and hard work, and y person has absolutely no skill and no intention of working, then x person should be able to hold way more than he needs, whereas y person should starve to death"? I doubt that. Sure let Elon be rich, but make him pay from his networth increase a bit, not a lot but a bit, whereas give people AT LEAST food, like that is not too much to ask, do not let people starve.

The fact that 80% of all dollars in circulation has been printed the past few months should give anyone, cryptoenthusiast or not, pause about blindly trusting fiat. And I doubt that the long term effect of these policies would just be isolated in the US, it's going to affect us all.

At the end of the day we are not going to have 100% adoption. Not everyone in the world will be using crypto, even if it became legal tender all around the world in every single nation, some people will prefer fiat and will use that. However, considering we are still at the start of the crypto world, and we have so much potential, I say that we should not be worried about bigger adoption.

I can see a world where bitcoin became legal tender in 50+ nations where banks allow you to have a debit/credit card where you can use crypto and never touch fiat if you prefer to (but can use it if you want to). Yes, investing in crypto does not assure of becoming rich. Risk is involved in it. So many crypto currencies come in every month but they dont stay long. Those who invested on these new crypto currencies were in loss. So yes, be more careful in choosing and investing on the right coin. Never borrow and invest ever.

Dude has an account started in 2012, either he is one of the earliest investors, or he doesn't care as much and didn't just write too much, or more likely outcome could be that someone sold their "old" account and this is a new user who uses the account for signature campaigns and constantly writes nowadays. Crypto investment is the only thing you could do with a haste, crypto trade is not the one that should be done in haste. So far I don’t think that bitcoin is losing value, yes there are times that it does decrease in value, it does that like regular and as a matter of fact that is the condition that we are currently into right now, as the market has plummeted and lost its high value, which means that we are in a bearish trend as of right now.

But, if you should check the value of Bitcoin on a long term, like over ten years and compare it with the value of the fiat currency over ten years you would really understand what the OP is trying to say here, and what he is saying is the truth. Everyone has their own principle when it comes to crypto investment. If we will continue to give education of crypto then we also need to educate them about the functions and features of crypto. When they will learn then they will also join this community and will adopt this technology in their finances and in their businesses.

Well, actually theres nothing wrong of saving money in the bank and buying crypto for investment. They are absolutely both good in their own ways. Investment is the best way to wealth and not saving. Saving don't multiply our money but keep dropping it because there are many bank charges that come on it. But investment in crypto is not all of it that will increase to profit in the short time, crypto like bitcoin and high volume coins in CMC.

Yes both of them are good in their own places but if we think then we can say that bitcoin can do both for us like it is investment along with that it work what the bank do is saving. Op just told one side of the beautiful story and did not consider the other parts in his post. We all know that fiat is good is loosing value over the time but you will not find recently any fiat that is not in use again because it has lost value to zero.

I think it will take quite a while for cryptos to take the place of the fiat money we all know. At least on a global level, that is. Some countries will adopt it pretty fast - I mean, we've already seen El Salvador do so, but others will likely follow suit too. Some countries, however, will probably lag behind the rest. It will take time for things to even out. That said, I have little doubt crypto popularity will increase in the coming years.

Yes I was not one of the lucky ones when I first entered the crypto world, but I am constantly learning to understand crypto. And now the result I can feel something useful for me.

I don't really understand when people put their amounts in banks and become happy about it lol, it is like, basics economy is not really that hard to understand, buying crypto might be seen as very risky by a lot of people, but buying stocks of well performing companies, investing in assets which grow or metals like gold, they are so easy to invest into and also fight inflation at the same time without losing buying power of the money. Keeping cash under bed is equivalent to just burning them slowly slowly over some years in a delusion of being rich.

OP didn't think about this because OP thinks that you can just get crypto for free and then make money easily. I think that besides the capital, it's difficult for people to get into cryptocurrencies because they need a lot of money to be able to get a decent amount and most people are living paycheck to paycheck so it's understandable why not a lot of people can get in easily, the money that they currently have isn't enough for leisurely stuff.
