Take-Two, the publishing company behind the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise, has its eye on the potential opportunities presented by NFTs.

"We're highly convinced there's an opportunity for NFTs to fit with Take-Two's offerings in the future," Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reportedly said via Nintendo Life.

"We believe in rare goods, we believe in collectibles. The concern we have is that there's speculation going on," he said. "We want to make sure that consumers always have a good experience every time they engage with our properties and losing money on a speculation is not a good experience, so we're going to stay away from speculation."

Although the CEO has his reservations about the crypto world and speculations. however, I think soon enough we are going to see GTA nft in the metervase space because they just made their interest public, what is most intriguing is the constant influx of big companies like Gamestop, Ubisoft, Square Enix etc coming into nft.
Anyone interested in seeing GTA NFT very soon?  ;D

I would say this is a good business move, why? because every one is trying to jump and hop on the bandwagon. So it is better if you jump in early like other companies and now GTA is entering the picture. And perhaps most users of GTA are also in crypto for all we know so this is a win-win situation for them. Again in this hype everyone is going to make a lot of money and that's what important for a business entity like GTA and other big companies to join the fray.

Introducing NFT by the Grand Theft Auto is a great step but i would prefer if they integrate these NFT in the game play. If these NFTS has a proper use case, people will buy them to use them as characters in the game. These days there is a craze for play to earn games and I hope one day GTA also become a similar game where you can earn money while playing.

I don't think it's going to be a unique event or something we'll be waiting for, the game can run a central market for NFTs and I don't think it needs to do that on the blockchain.
I do not expect this to happen in the short term, but the more people accept NFT, the company will add it, it is related to making profits and not losing them in the stock market because some financiers do not like cryptos

Shit man, if GTA will be going to the NFT and this will be so big and i guess that there will be a big players and so many GTA fans will be joining in the NFT as well. I hope that he will consider this as soon as possible. This wil be a good news for NFT ecosystem once a big player will come and this will be very exciting news for anyone. I hope that another big players in the big gaming ecosystem will also take a look at NFT. NFT is having very big chance to be a very good ecosystem for gaming developers and they can also actively getting so many income from this ecosystem.
This is a good news remember that GTA was a very popular game and it can be integrated with NFT easily.

Since GTA has a lot of fan following and a million of people play this game, we cannot imagine the hype of the NFT being announced by this game. I am thinking one step ahead as how about introducing a coin for GTA from which you can buy the in-play items to play the game.

Am a GTA fan buddy and I can tell you I was very excited about the news, I was already hoping it will happen someday, as a big gaming company with millions of players this is definitely going ballistic when it happens, and imagine they decided to have a metaverse gaming project with play2earn, something similar with GTA, lol, it will be huge,

Before I use to think nft are just meme fun project but after seeing the number of big names joining nft with speed, that change my thoughts, now am more fascinated to see how far this new world can go.

I'm a fan and player of this game and if they're going to add an NFT, this is a welcoming development. I want to be positive with every move that they good and find it cool.
With the other news that I've heard, they're planning to go with GTA 6 but I don't know if they've already started working on it. If they make GTA not just an NFT but also having a P2E environment, well, many of us would be living for real on its realm.

Big franchise, celebrities, sport men and women, musicians and even billionaire business people are all trying to have a taste of NFT, this is good for the publicity, promotion and continuity of NFT, but it's bad for those who are just climbing the ladder even with awesome ideas, the NFT terrane has gone crazy and big money are thrown in and out of it, although I believe the fuzz would die down, but as of now I think we would see more franchise coming into Nft not only the owners of Grand theft Auto.

If this company got involved, I think it would do good work. Because GTA is a game that has a great impact around the world and I'm sure it has many fans even on the forum. I think that NFTs to be issued by game companies that make such moves should definitely be bought. I think I'm going to stay tuned. I think that the NFTs that a game with such a high level of players will produce will make very good money.

We know how good GTA is and entering into an NFTs can be a great move, I don’t know if they are planning to become a P2E or they just want to sell NFTs but still its a good decision since many already planning to adopt NFTs. I don’t play much GTA nowadays but I do have this on my computer, I might try to have their NFTs if ever, this is a great market exposure for them.

Most gaming studios especially the big ones are not condemning NFTs so basically they dont say no but it doesnt mean they will jump the wagon just yet I mean Look at the recent games that cancel NFTs integration last minute Hardcore gamers have issue with NFTs and it going to take some time to get them accustomed to them They basically think they are lootboxes publishers will use to reap them off my suggestion will be it will take some time

Big news. Since so many big companies are also hiring so many crypto developers to be a part of their team and it seems like that major gaming developers are also interesting with the world of NFT. Im pretty sure that once GTA developers can confirm if they will enter to the NFT and this will be making so much Hype. GTA is a big one. There will be another gaming developers from the popular game will be joining in the NFT ecosystem. The more big companies join and the more users will come. I hope that all of major gaming developers will be eyeing NFT

it’s true that these kind of company always avoid speculation because it could bring risks for their games that usually doesn’t really understand much about how economy works.
I think they could eliminate volatility by simply making fixed price for it, even if the price could be raised by individual merchants of the NFT the base price should just stay the same so the volatility will stay around that base value.
If GTA decides implementing NFT in their games, it could be such big innovation that could bring their games leveled up and probably could opens up the possibilities of GTA becoming metaverse in the future and that’s gonna be such a huge thing.

A good move and if I remember it correctly, they also did a great job in applying gambling-related stuff in the form of a virtual physical casino on one of their GTA releases. I think that was GTA V?

Let's see if the game developers will push their NFT plan and if more people will ride on the possible hype.

GTA is a favorable game for kids, teenagers and adults all around the world and players crave to see new updates from the gaming provider. I think this news is a kind of trend that will help some of GTA players know NFT for the first time. However, they are famous but, the platform can face some challenges on the NFT marketplace if they are not careful. People can resell their products without their consent. Because, the demand of GTA games is high so as their NFT will be if they eventually take their gaming business to NFT.

Damn this is unexpected  :o and here i am condemning what NFT is actually about, I hope this NFT will be useful in game not just random picture NFTs cos that will sucks big time, it seems after rockstar takes this step many big gaming giants will look into NFT as well.

Wew, the big gaming platform is moving to the NFT. I guess there will be lots of speculations about another big gaming platform like the one that created god of war or something else that will be going to the NFT. It seems like that NFT is very suitable to be used by open world based gaming platform. This means once GTA will be joining in the NFT and people can have NFT to be used on their character. I do like this game and this is pretty interesting news to see. I hope that GTA will be integrated with NFT and that will make use able to use NFT inside GTA.

I really wish that they would do nfts inside the game, like different cars, guns, paintings to your house and marketplaces for it. But in reality i see them making some gta-themed crappy collectables. I hope my pessimistic view is wrong.

I wouldn't say I'm interested, but definitely I'm pretty sure GTA players will be, and they are the target audience for now. It's no surprise how big corporations are getting involved, mind you that when there is hype around something, if you can find a way to make profit from it then you sure have to do it, and that's what this companies are doing, and you know most hypes do not last for too long, except of course if there is an indispensable use case surrounding it, thus this companies would probably be thinking that this is the right time to jump at this and make profits cause this hype isn't guaranteed to last 'forever'.

I am sure and convinced that there will be a buyer and a fan of this cult game, because I do not know a person who has not played this game at least once, and if you tie up the game for NFT, then it will be a success, we are waiting for the announcement.

I like NFTs and idea behind this stuff.
But I think it's a bit absurd that people are focusing their efforts just in "the next novelty to make big money"... as we have seen this is just a scheme to draw money from people that doesn't understand the real innovation related bitcoin and blockchain... a lots of big company have launched their NFT just for pocketing more money.
At the end, after selling NFTs, they are exchanging in FIAT and who knows maybe in bitcoin  :o ;) it is not a small detail ::) they are not investing in other NFTs

This is good for NFT world, although Take-Two is not introducing NFTs now but they have a future plan and this will definitely boost the popularity of NFTs and will also attract other big players and also competitors to adopt NFTs.
I will be looking forward to how NFTs will be used in GTA.

NFT was proof of ownership and you will not able to do that. I guess even if GTA will be implementing NFT on its game and it will need  you to own NFT token that will prove you to be the real owner of such NFT.

Lol this is not the concept of NFT. If someone will be able to pay the rarest weapon and whatever you wanna do and he can always destroy you. The concept of NFT to be personal asset and this can be owned but i think the you can trade your NFT in game.

Of course, there will be some who are mostly in just for the money while some are here to make a difference with this new trend, just like the dot com era, many companies were up during that period but only the genuine ones stayed behind or survived.
Companies like McDonald's have even gone as far as filing 12 trademarks for a virtual restaurant according to Finbold.com, I think some of these companies are taking this trend seriously and here to create virtual world.

The article talks about some of the biggest game studios including Ubisoft and Square Enix as having plans for blockchain games. This may seem bullish to some but don't forget that these are rich, centralized studios that have to turn a profit above anything else.

The idea of giving players actual control over their gaming items will not be implemented till it becomes profitable for them. It is nothing more than a passing fad at present. As far as the statements about using "PoS" chains is concerned, i doubt that they have any other option. The whole industry has now moved to centralized solutions which allow companies to cling to the "blockchain" narrative.

So even though this will be nothing in the spirit of decentralization, it sure is something that the game studios see as a new marketing opportunity.

While this is interesting I just wonder how it will work in practice. Lets take PlayStation for example. Currently if you buy a character you redeem a code and it unlocks in the game, but the transaction happens in the PlayStation store. If they make NFTs in the game, how would that be redeemed in the PlayStation store? Furthermore NFTs will trade outside of the PlayStation store which would mean revenue leakage for Sony. If Rockstar sells the NFTs on their site for example, things could get interesting especially if Sony does not like that model.

The fact that Grand Theft Auto is the first open world game and a game with a huge fanbase was a really good approach. After Ubisoft's move, all game companies turned their attention to this direction. In fact, I think these companies have already done their research and investments. It would be very interesting if there were limited in-game items in games like GTA.

This is good. I heard that some big companies are also eyeing NFT and it's not only this. BANK is also preparing to join in the metaverse and this will relate to the NFT as well. I hope that blizzard will be also coming to the NFT. It's good to see if DOTA will be combined with NFT. Any in game item can be bought easily using crypto. As long as NFT keep booming and NFT will be big soon.
Those big gaming companies will bring NFT to the another level. Massive adoption and free advertisement. that will make NFT become massive very soon.

Right now they've only shown interest in the ecosystem with concerns that are understandable,  so let's hope whenever they decide to launch their nft to the public it will benefit both metaverse and crypto ecosystem in the end. Any popular game that is already established will have a huge fan following and if they enter the NFT space selling merchandise, collectibles or even playable, it will sell out faster and it will be one of a kind rare collection die hard gamers. The only aspect i am waiting right now is that when a major gaming company starts experimenting with P2E games.

I really don't know if NFT is a good investment.
In a few years, nobody will want to buy such pictures.
Why should someone still pay high prices for such pictures? And every day, new pictures are launched.
It really doesn't make sense and is very high risk.

Better buy coins because coins will have a high demand later.

Im think its good idea if all items can be transferable, and in future most of games will use nft. After it will, it will look like world market.
