Is it possible that dogecoin can beat BTC after Elon musk takes over Twitter? Imagine if Dogecoin is well accepted throughout the world then BTC wouldn't this makes Dogecoin the new coin? This might sound too crazy to dream about but that Elon musk guy can make anything possible.

I don't really think that this can happen. I mean in the end Dogecoin is just a meme-coin. The recent news of Elon Musk taking over twitter have caused another nice price pump for Dogecoin which went up like 30% two days ago but if you are looking at the prices today then Dogecoin is amongst the coins that has the highest losses today so far. I can imagine that Dogecoin will still experience some price pumps here and there, especially if Elon Musk continues to increase his influence on social media or anywhere else and if he mentions Dogecoin somewhere again then i am also sure we see another price jump but i don't think that it will be as big as when he first mentioned Dogecoin, because back then it was a surprise, now it's nothing new.

How do you even came up with such ideas ? I just cant imagine a scenario, when dogecoin market cap reaches bitcoin, its price becomes equal to bitcoin or it will get same wild popularity as bitcoin. With Twitter purchase, Elon could only try to add dogecoin as addition to bitcoin for ads payment and tips. We should never dream of dogecoin obtaining worlds adoption like bitcoin, just because these two cryptocurrencies have different ideas behind them. Meme coin will never become world main currency.

And Elon Musk doesn't want to do that. it is tantamount to a very risky investment. so I find it hard to come true. after all, if bitcoin is no longer ranked first, then the crypto market will lose its passion. it will only make crypto development worse.

I'm not really sure to compare those two this early just because Elon Musk is the owner of Twitter now, I rather wait for his actions whether it is effective or not, I doubt that it can even replace bitcoins in its popularity. right now, all we can do is watch how he manage this turn of event for his advantage and we will gonna share our opinions once we know what kind of plan he is up to with this kind of move. And why would it be new BTC instead of BTC being the BTC? Just because Elon Musk thinks the Doge is funny? He already thinks that and we have seen the results already, why it would magically be any different in the future? Every time he mentions doge it pumps and dumps. I can't imagine what it would be like if it came true. doge replace bitcoin, it's already very impossible. Even if Elon put in all the effort he could to get the doge accepted, it would be very difficult. imagine a coin with a very large total max supply being number one, it's very impossible. meme coins will remain meme coins no matter the situation. Dogecoin is nowhere in terms of value if we compare it with BTC. You can say Doge can perform better in the coming months but to say that the Doge will leave BTC behind is not digestible for me. One can hype any coin for some time but BTC is like a evergreen coin for the investors/traders.

I don't think so, if the Dogecoin will be only in Twitter I don't think that they can be a new BTC but if Elon could think of something that he can accept Dogecoin as a payment I am sure that it can be a new payment system I am really excited since he said that he will have new features for Twitter I hope that includes Dogecoin.

Dogecoin can be better the position from now after Elon Musk buys Twitter and can expand the usage of Dogecoin but we can't expect the BTC will be defeated by Dogecoin so BTC always will be the leader in the crypto market.

We have all seen how Dogecoin has performed in this space, navigating information to promote such development. I think it will never be sustainable, especially since the current market is also very harsh. A great strength can help Dogecoin rise, but then it will also have to go down. Don't ever think altscoin can be independent without being tied to BTC.

It never will be. Dogecoin is just a meme coin, don't expect any super fundamental characteristics for rapid growth from it. Elon Musk uses this coin for speculation and now there is another pumping of the price, then it will fall anyway, but now is the period, when it is necessary to give faith in market participants, so they buy DOGE. Most likely this or next year there will be attempts by Elon Musk to implement Dogecoin on Twitter, and even if this happens, the tokenomics behind Dogecoin will not allow overtaking Bitcoin. The DOGE supply is constantly increasing, which significantly reduces the value of coins in holders' wallets.

One thing that makes btc so special and more reliable and also more valuable is not just because it's the first coin, but its because of the vulnerability, btc have a very limited supply which is also very few and not even up to half a 100. It has become common knowledge that when a cryptocurrency gains some popularity and prosperity, it is compared to Bitcoin. However, we have seen that Bitcoin has always been at a unique height due to its uniqueness and popularity and that most cryptocurrency fluctuations have largely depended on Bitcoin. The dogecoin has been able to grow a lot of thanks to Elon Musk, but I don't think that such a meme coin as the dogecoin will be able to reach the heights of bitcoin.

First of all doge coin is a meme coin which has no use cases. Infact there are possibilities that doge can come to zero but btc is like one man army nobody can take it to the zero, it has vast use cases. And more importantly doge is driven by Elon and BtC is driven by not only elon but others too. We cannot predict with certainty about the future. But it is very unlikely that Dogecoin can beat Bitcoin, Currently Dogecoin and Bitcoin are equally popular, Dogecoin is supported by Elon Musk, But Bitcoin is also supported by many world's rich people and various big companies.

Very risky if you are thinking like this, don’t get hyped that much and think for an impossible things. No it’s not going to happen, it will most likely also never break its old ATH. There are many people that assumed it would hit $1 or $5 or $10 but they are forgetting it’s a mineable coin with a large miner reward everyday.

if doge is optimized with twitter, it is very possible for doge price to go up. however, I think it's not enough to beat Bitcoin. even ethereum which really has great potential can't grab or replace bitcoin though. I think, it will be difficult for Dogecoin to become a new bitcoin because Dogecoin cannot demonstrate like BTC price that moved from $30,000 few months ago to $40,000 which other altcoins are still struggle to increase higher. certainly not, Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency, and like so many other coins on the market right now, it is an investment tool.  Dogecoin doesn't have any interesting features or lofty vision like bitcoin.  Large organizations participating in the field of cryptocurrencies such as MicroStrategy, PayPal, Visa, etc. have not shown any signal that they will accept Dogecoin.  Dogecoin has just stopped at an investment “movement” of the community, but has not yet received the same wide recognition as Bitcoin.

Even though Elon Musk is the richest person in the world, but that doesn't mean wealth can be equated with the current total bitcoin holders, I think if all the holders or whales of bitcoin come together maybe Elon Musk alone will not be able to fight them. I'm not sure if Doge coin can become like BTC or even be better than it. By far the first problem for this is mass adoption, in other words, will people who use BTC want to abandon it and start using Doge coin? I don't think this will happen. However, in any case, Elon Musk, using Twitter, can try to add value to the Doge coin and once again send this crypto asset to the moon, and maybe to Mars. But it is unlikely that all this will help Doge coin become like BTC or better.

its true , adoption on dogecoin will massively growth due integration with twitter. i am believe price will soar hardly when elon musk or twitter announced this .but if we talking about to be new bitcoin , in my opinion it just over expectation or maybe over confidence although  there is no impssible thing in crypto market. but we have to be realistice there are coins better than doge which is have better utility and product .

Remember that Dogecoin is just been hyped before because someone did it and shilled, not because people see and appreciate it. we all know dogecoin is the most one popular coin since the cryptocurrency stareted as digital currency, dogecoin is in  top of the line followed from the top three coins etheruem, litecoins. but no can beat bitcoin as king of crypto., people always trust the capability of bitcoin in the market even the vaues dump into the lowest value from the top altcoins bitcoin goes back again and again for many more times 2017 last quarters people are very lonely or sad about the price of bitcoin but after all the troubles bitcoin goes up by the middle of 2018 thats was i remember please correct me if i am wrong. sor in short in my opion no once can beat bitcoin.

agree with you mate, it is unlikely that doge will be able to change and wish to be able to replace bitcoin even though Elonmusk tries as hard as he can. bitcoin already has its own share and has been very well known and made a very attractive investment so far and it is difficult to beat it no matter what way the doge will do.

There is no development anybody or Elon Musk can do that will make doge be like 1% of Bitcoin let alone be its replacement or like. DOGE coin remains what it is created to be, just a meme coin which will always be meme.

Doge coin's purpose is too different from Bitcoin. Bitcoin has shown lots of improvements and achieved a lot for years and Dogecoin has just struck high because of the hype. The difference is too visible. These two aren't even comparable because Bitcoin is well-established and known to be the father of all coins while Dogecoin was just manipulated by Elon Musk. Dogecoin will never be the new BTC.

This kind of comparison does not seem logical at all. A meme coin can never take the place of BTC. Currently Elon Musk is the top businessman in the world who constantly finding new business. There is no reference where he is the owner of Doge coin. Trader and investors just assumed that he may be the owner. So in this situation we can not claim it. If he tries, he can take its position much higher. He can also create utility tokens from Meme tokens. However, it is not clear whether there are any such thoughts at the moment.

The doge name was big even before the market manipulation that caused some people to lose money. I see the main reason because before that doge was often used in several platforms, competing with trx as a transaction solution. I began to lose interest in doge since experiencing unnatural price movements, plus several parties interfered in influencing doge price movements in the market.

even in terms of technology dogecoin falls behind, it isn't even a smart contract, the current valuation was driven by elon and elon alone, you could say doge is gaining great and tremendous valuation increase but without elon musk doge coin is just the same shitcoins out there. ethereum is just far better in this term and the fact that ethereum has now become the 2nd highest by market cap alone likes speaks for itself. basically speaking from technology, doge just doesn't cut it to be the new BTC, it couldn't even competes against ethereum.

The market of doge is something hyped. We can't say dogecoin isn't a potential asset, it is an asset that isn't well used. Because, to sustain in the market for such a long term when more and more cryptocurrencies reach the market and gets out shows its strength.

There is only one btc, that is why it cant be replaced anymore. Any coins next to btc are only just an altcoin and only the altcoins have the permission to compete with each other. If there are projects with a vision to replace btc, that owner must be out of his mind. He don't have a respect to the one that started it all and I am sure that investors will avoid his project in an instant after knowing his intention.

Yes. But most people are following the hype, so they don't care to pour money into Dogecoin like crazy even if that will make them go "rekt" in the long term. It's surprising to see how one man can have a huge influence over the entire crypto/Blockchain industry. A positive or negative comment from Elon Musk can either lead crypto to the grave or all the way to the moon. I hope this doesn't last forever, or crypto will be doomed.

All in all, I believe Dogecoin will exist for generations because it's one of the oldest cryptocurrencies with a large community backing it. But its price might not be the same decades from now (probably less than a cent). There's more to crypto than just Dogecoin, so I'd suggest anyone to explore the whole crypto/Blockchain space in order to get the most out of it. Just my opinion :)

I do it is not impossible.  Because in the current situation of BTC, it seems that very soon the price of BTC will come down to 6 thousand.  And Doggy Coin's supply plus holding is good.  Doggie can pump coins there  However, if BTC is down, the crypto market will be reversed.  I think Dougie Coyne is the next best holding token.

I don't see that happening. The impact of Elon musk in cryptocurrency is over - rated. We need to understand that it takes much more than acceptance through out the world to get the best out of a coin. Dogecoin at its best was used for a pump and dump scheme and most persons who entered at the wrong time are full of regrets.
