Title: Paid the birth fee using bitcoin at the clinic, by accident.
Post by: bitzizzix on June 02, 2022, 03:21:20 AM
The moving story about the bitcoin emergency last night has helped me, last night my wife gave birth to my first child at 02:45 at one of the nearest clinics about 500 meters from my house and at that time I didn't have any cash, which I actually had prepared for ATM birth fees.
because the ATM is far from my place and I immediately took my wife to the clinic and all I thought about was my wife's safety, and at that time I was confused about the delivery fee because I didn't have cash and if I went to the ATM it was very far and also my wife no one to accompany and provide support during childbirth.
and after my wife and first child survived, the doctor took off his robe he wore a t-shirt with a small bitcoin image and spontaneously I asked if the doctor was involved with bitcoin and he said yes. And then I rubbed my chest and I said can I pay all the birth fees in bitcoin and I ended up paying in bitcoin about 0.007 or about $210.

sorry if my words are not good and also incomplete because this is my first experience paying using bitcoin by accident and it doesn't mean the clinic accepts payments using bitcoin but coincidentally the owner and he himself is a doctor and happens to be involved with bitcoin.

and my son's name: Muhammad Alvan ...... (male) and born on June 2, 2022 at 02:45.

And it's also my first time to create a Thread because of the unexpected and unforgettable experience

Congrats @bitzizzix your lucky child have reached the world. Birth is an unforgettable moment, and for you this is more special for few more reasons. Through his birth your child have made you experience spending in terms of bitcoin. The birthdate looks really special with  June 02/2022. You've got a person in contact who is using bitcoin (The Doctor). Take care of Mom and Kid.

Thanks @KennyR. All of this was completely unexpected because the doctor predicted the birth on June 4/5 and it turned out to be an early delivery so I didn't have time to take the cash because it was so sudden.
and I also didn't think the doctor was involved with bitcoin even though I had come twice to check my wife's pregnancy and the third time came to give birth.
and I will take very good care of my wife and children.

Congratulations @bitzizzix first of all.
Wishing the child and mother a good health and hope both are fine and good by now.
Really amazed by listening your experience.
But you should also be careful while dealing with such sensitive situations.
Isn’t the clinic accepting online payments ? Was it only accepting cash?
Also really proud for the doctor, who accepted Bitcoins in such a time.
We need all professionals to get involved in the Bitcoins ecosystem and spread it to other people.
Once again congratulations mate.

Congratulations to you man on having this beautiful gift of life first of all and hope your wife and child are healthy and fine. This is the case that whenever we need bitcoin we can use it as payment mode rather than only taking it as investment decision and you was lucky that doctor there was btc enthusiast taking from his tshirt logo and accepted the payment.

So best wishes to you and your first bitcoin transaction will be remembered by you forever which is so good to hear.

Congratulations to you on the Birth of your son and wishing all your family good health. I believe that was a good coincidence and things work out in some ways you cannot imagine. Considering your fiat situation and the time it would have taken to go to the ATM. It is gradual and I believe that Bitcoin will eventually be global in acceptance, and the rest of the people will catch up.
Congratulations to the family again.

It was a good story and if the doctor didn't took off his robe, you probably still confused until now to find cash to pay the birth fee lol.

As much as I dislike of wearing or using any stuffs related with Bitcoin due to my privacy concern ($5 wrench attacks), but sometime it's not always wrong just like your above story. I think this day you're lucky enough and I wish you with your families in good health.

Anyway are you really don't have any problem to wrote your child name and the born time? I think it's not really a common name and someone might find you from this information, so my suggestion is to wipe it.

Its a boy!! Congrats!
Not every one who provide services like this doctor accepts BTC even when they already know and learned about BTC. A store nearby has a huge BTC logo outside but when asked if they accept BTC, Nada!

But you luckily picked the right doctor for the currency you only have that day. The doctor must have been pleased too because of it. Wishing the best for Muhammad Alvan Khaleed.

Congratulations mate. This sounds actually amazing, though its not good to be in your position cause what if he didnt accept it right? You need to go back and find an atm to pay for it. Well actually, I was thinking if they dont accept debit card right or some sort of remmitance for easy payment. Nowadays, almost all services accepts it now for conveniency especially its a clinic.

An impressive story, you get 2 benefits from your situation i.e. bitcoin ready to spend and a doctor who welcomes the patient's necessities. And again, bitcoin becomes a priority alternative when cash fails (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5390015.msg59546105#msg59546105). Maybe you are not the first person with this experience, but your story is a collection of my notes from this forum.
Btw, congrats on the birth of your son, mate. Wonderful name.

Congratulations to you and may god brings all happiness to your son. I am glad to hear another life event where bitcoin helped its user to get over a difficult situation. I am sure a lot of other people have similar stories that didn't come up to light.

Bitcoin personally had saved me from an motorcycle accident where I didn't have any cash on me. So I had used my mobile phone to convert some bitcoins to fiat currency and paid through bank transfer to the clinic. Bitcoin was indirectly involved there. Wish you all the very best. It's a big responsibility and may god provides you all the strength.

Congratulations!

That's an unexpected yet surprising and happy moment for you. Your wife gave birth to your child and then the doctor had that little logo on his shirt which had given the idea that he's a bitcoin investor.

Well, for me, I wouldn't still wear any bitcoin logo in the public. I'm aware that this incident could also make us find out the other bitcoin holders and investors but I'm more worried about a wrench attack.

wonderful and congratulations on the birth of your child which went smoothly. I don't know why but I feel happy to read about your experience. because it reminds me of my personal experience when my wife gave birth to my first child.

Ah yes, I also created a topic about shopping experience questions / making payments or using bitcoin. Maybe you can see it and also share stories there ( How often do you transact in the real world with your bitcoin or digital money? bitzizzix's case undoubtedly falls into the treasury of stories, in which bitcoin was not only useful, but also helped in a difficult moment.

Also, this is another proof for the haters who still claim that nothing can be bought or paid for services for bitcoin. In fact, for bitcoin you can buy anything in this world if the seller is willing to accept it like a doctor with a "t-shirt with a small bitcoin image".

A small life-hack that I learned from this story: if you are ready to accept payment at bitcoin, then wear BTC logo on your item of clothing. So anyone can understand what you know about bitcoin and, as the author of this post, they will be able to offer to accept payment at bitcoin for your help or services. This will allow you to immediately understand each other that you are both in the topic of bitcoin.

Congratulations on the birth of your child, hope mother and child are perfectly healthy. Great to see Bitcoin being used in real life situations and accepted by different professionals.

It would be a cool story to tell your kid in a few years the circumstance around their birth, and maybe how expensive it would prove to be, if Bitcoin continues to rise and does a ×10 or more. Teasing them with how much it costs.

Might be better to keep names and other details private as this forum is privacy designed, except you particularly wish to reveal such information.

As I'm reading what you shared, I already know that your words are kinda incomplete at some point but it's understandable and it's because of your current feelings while posting this thread. The combination of excitement to share it here (because you paid thru Bitcoin which is very rare if you ask me) and the happiness that you already have a child. For sure this will be unforgettable and a few years from now, you will share this experience from you that you paid the doctor thru Bitcoin which is at that time isn't been accepted by many establishments.

Congratulations on your baby and I hope that it will grow like you, an investor. Maybe remove your son's name here because we are in the internet and that might cause you and your family trouble. Just for security purposes though.

Congratulations to the birth of your son, I hope he and your wife are healthy and everything is okay. What a nice story how bitcoin managed to save your day. In my opinion that is all what is it about when it comes to crypto currency, financial independence. You were not limited to some plastic cards, bank machines and ATMs or cash. As long as we gave Internet access we are free with crypto currencies, and of course the place needs to accept bitcoins. To me it seems that your son now already has a strong bond to bitcoins. You paid his birth with bitcoins, that's a story you and your son will always remember. I hope becomes interested in cryptos already at a young age. It's something you two can share together.

Congrats on this new chapter of your life as a father.

It became extra special because you were able to use Bitcoin in times of emergency and good thing the doctor is also a user, its a happy coincidence. Its indeed an unforgettable experience for you.

This incident is an example that Bitcoin is a currency and can be an alternative to fiat for people who are using it.

The payment of the hospital bills for the birth of your child isn't a mistake, that the hospital in question does not accept bitcoin payment does not mean that you paying them in bitcoin for their services is an accident, there is a first time to every thing, and that you didn't see the sign "Bitcoin accepted here" in the hospital environment shouldn't make you conclude that the hospital does not accept bitcoin, the doctor might have in time past accepted bitcoin payment from other patients before you.
There are several businesses around the world today that accept bitcoin Payment, though they don't have a sign to show it, and they won't immediately tell you they accept bitcoin payment until you opt to pay in bitcoin.

I check if Dell wanna ship for BTC.

Takes same extra manpower since you started paying for having children.

Not the case so you better save it: "Dell started accepting Bitcoin as a payment method in 2014 and it stopped accepting the coin due to low demand in 2017".

Congrats on the new little one.

First of all, I would like to say congratulations to you @bitzizzix and your family for your new child, I guess you should always remember this date because on the 2nd of June you got an amazing gift and it will definitely change your life and I'm very happy for your and your family because of it. On the other hand at this date, you used bitcoin ATMs for a good cause, and using your saving for this gift can be very memorable for you, however, I'm still not a fan of bitcoin ATMs because of the KYC but happy for you to have this experience.

You should save this post and when your son is old enough and familiar with Bitcoin, show it to him.

Congratulations mate. But for security and privacy reasons, if I were you I'd edit out your son's name and birth date on your post. This might seem too overly paranoid but I wouldn't take my chances.
I wanted to recommend the same but you were quicker. Since we have scrappers that pick up all submitted posts by at least two forum members, OP would have to get in touch with them as well to get rid of all traces of the name. Not to mention that everything can be achieved for whatever reason.

Personally, I liked the story because it is inspiring, and the adoption that we are looking for is the adoption of individuals because the adoption of governments will come sooner or later as the acceptance and use of individuals has increased, then the government will intervene and this intervention may be not benign.

I hope from God that he will be a blessed child and be righteous with his family and make him a scholar and a person of stature in society.
Invite the doctor to join us in the forum.

I just came back to the clinic to buy the medicine my wife needed after giving birth and I bought it with money because it didn't cost much.
and I had a little chat with the doctor and I asked him since when he was involved with bitcoin, and he said since 2016 and what's even more interesting is the clinic that he created and all the facilities in it he got from bitcoin profits, and that was really cool.
he knows this forum but he only logged in briefly to this forum then left, and I immediately went home to give my wife some medicine.

thank you all for your kind words and today is the happiest day, because of the birth of my first child.

Congratulation brother. You are now a father and your son has just given you a wonderful experience. I am glad your wife delivered safely and the baby is sound. You now have a great responsibility to raise him based on the right norms and values. Please note that children learn by example, hence you must always behave yourself and prove to your family that you are responsible. I would have added a nickname to his name if I have such Bitcoin experience after his birth. Maybe I would have given him a nickname from one of the helpful members of this forum. But selecting the name would have been a challenge because my wife and other family members would be horror-ably scared if they hear some of them.

Hey man congratulations to you and your wife. It's good to see you ended up into a professional who was ready to deal in bitcoins. Reminds me old age when peeps use to trade anything valuable for their services and goods. Like gold! Bitcoin in that sense is becoming way popular and helping peeps to trade freely almost anywhere. Definitely no one can deny the payments in bitcoin and this will even change further in few years when everybody will carry bitcoin wallet. Just scan the QR and send the payment. After all its all about how much we educate everyone slowly. In developed countries mostly in western side I see the bitcoin has injected a lot into ecosystem and one can get help with it easily! It's he accepted it, very nice! story to share with fellow colleagues.

And also its good to share this on social media as part of your story because for sure this one will create some curiosity to the people who will be touched by the story you experienced at that time.

I am happy that everything went smoothly, glad that both mother and child are in sound health. it is nice to know that the btc awareness is spreading and people you would not have thought knew about it are already involved.
The name of your new born is a great name. Congrats once again.

For the rest of the husbands who's wife are pregnant I will still advise people to keep the cash after the 9 months as anytime the baby can be born.  :)

First of all, congratulations on the birth of a son, of course you will be happy to have a dream of a heart.

And it's very rare for doctors to be involved in bitcoin but you are lucky enough to find a doctor who is so special because he knows bitcoin to make it easier for your wife to give birth so it's not so troublesome to take cash but with this incident it was really extraordinary, even my area doesn't at all there is like this.

But this is bitcoin which is quite easy to transact directly even though banking is also as easy, but I like this story with hospital payments with bitcoin.

he knows this forum but he only logged in briefly to this forum then left, and I immediately went home to give my wife some medicine.
Maybe it's because of his busy life as a doctor who treats a lot of patients that he doesn't have long to stay on this forum, but at least he knows this discussion about how he helps people wholeheartedly and financing with Bitcoin is so impressive.
It's been 7 years the doctor has been involved in bitcoin, it's really long and he was able to start a clinic from the profits of bitcoin and you can say he's an expert (lol) so he can make more profits to build a clinic.

Say congrats on your son. ;)

Without a doubt this is a very interesting story, after all parents spend all the time thinking about the different scenarios they are going to face when their wife will finally enter the delivery stage, but it does not matter how much you prepare there is always going to happen something that was outside your predicted scenarios.

In this case it seems the delivery was earlier than expected and surprised you with no cash in hand, but fortunately for you and your family the doctor was also one that is interested in bitcoin and it allowed you to pay what you owed in this way, so without a doubt this is a beautiful story.

And congratulations on the birth of your baby boy.

Congratulations mate! Hope your family is fine now. The experience of spending Bitcoin is remarkable and memorable and looks like your boy is Bitcoin boy lol. At least Bitcoin helped you in an emergency situation, no matter if they don't accept Bitcoin officially but it saved two lives. To be honest, I don't know how I will express my feelings for you, but feeling crazy. This is organic Bitcoin adaption coincidentally.

Congrats on having your new bundle of joy, and this is certainly an unforgettable experience with bitcoin since it saved you from paying your bill. Good thing that even doctors nowadays have been part of bitcoin adoption, that made me realize if there were surgeons like that in my local place. I think this is just the beginning of using bitcoin as a payment, not only a single clinic but certainly a whole hospital will be accepting bitcoin in the future. This will really be possible when the adoption of bitcoin will become mainstream.

Great experience to read and this is really meant for you because imagine that you are in rush then doesn't have anything to pay but luckily doctor itself is also a bitcoin user so this is really a good story to tell to anybody. And also its good to share this on social media as part of your story because for sure this one will create some curiosity to the people who will be touched by the story you experienced at that time.

And also congratulations for new born child.
Unexpected events could happen thats why its normal for us to have that kind of reaction on finding up alternative ways which might or might not be available but it was worth the try yet transacting someone
by means of services offered and luckily the ones who he had been dealt off with does involved with bitcoin or crypto which it did really give out advantage and for @OP

It's so rare to see a doctor wearing any kind of t-shirt. Last time I was at the hospital they all wore green shirts that are part of their uniform. The chances of them wearing a bitcoin t-shirt are so low that you can feel like you've won the lottery.
Also, it's the first time I hear about a birth fee. I've been in a few EU countries and everything is free in here unless you're not insured, but insurance is mandatory, so you have to try hard not to be.

Congratulations OP, you won't be getting much sleep from now on ;)

Congrats @bitzizzix your lucky child have reached the world. Birth is an unforgettable moment, and for you this is more special for few more reasons. Through his birth your child have made you experience spending in terms of bitcoin. The birthdate looks really special with  June 02/2022. You've got a person in contact who is using bitcoin (The Doctor). Take care of Mom and Kid.
You're just lucky that the doctor is also a bitcoiner, that's why paying him is made easy. Its good thing that bitcoin has been invented because it could save us in most unexpected days in our lives. I just hope that bitcoin will not only be limited for just a couple of bitcoin owners, but a world wide adoption will do. And this will certainly happen in the right time so let's just be patient for it. Anyways, congrats OP. And good luck on your new experience of being a father.

We do have different conditions on each country when it comes to free hospitalization and other related services which would be given into its citizens but since we've been living differently then expect that you would

really be paying off for that labor or birth on a clinic which is a basic thing.Good timing that the doctor is really also knowledgably about bitcoin which it did really put you into some advantage scenario
or saving up yourself on paying those expenses specially if you dont have cash on your pocket.

I do really understand that line of getting not much sleep. LOOOL!

Even in my country, majority of the clinics here are already accepting debit cards as they are good as cash basis too. But accepting bitcoin payment is more amazing than that. I just thought that it would be more convenient for us if bitcoin is highly priced this time but even so, i think this scenario is still worth it because bitcoin has saved you in such a very unforgettable moment in your life. Hopefully, there will be more doctors who will be part of bitcoin as we need them more for us to remain healthy all the time.

The doctor loves crypto too. Is that a coincidence or another proof that bitcoin is now popular no matter what your profession is. Such a great news!

Maybe the doctor is a trader too! Paying bills and other transaction with Bitcoin makes as feel more comfortable since we do not need to get some cash.

Nothing better than the birth of your child, I'm sure besides paying in Bitcoin it was a unforgettable experience, and I wish all of you health, and happiness! However, going back onto the Bitcoin side of things, I'm pretty sure this might be one of the first births paid in Bitcoin. Although, that kind of saddens me, since I believe all healthcare should be free, and wouldn't want to be in this position myself.

When Bitcoin hits a million quid per Bitcoin it might just be the most expensive child ever too :D, nah in all seriousness, I'm happy for you, and your wife! You may have just made some history too.

Although, I didn't think the doctor would be allowed to do that, unless hospitals work different from where I'm from.

Anyways, Many congratulations to you on becoming a father.  :)

Yeah OP said the doctor was the owner, but even then usually you still have to go through the normal practices, since especially with medical facilities there's laws about accepting payments, and insurances etc. Obviously, this is a private hospital, and in a different country so I'm not truly familiar with the process. There's also the issue with taxes, and stuff. Since the owner has to pay his workers, taking payment not on the system seems weird.

Firstly, congratulations on the birth of your first child and I hope it will be the happiest moment of your life.

Second, I really want to know if your country has legalized bitcoin for legal tender or not. If bitcoin is not legal in your country then I strongly advise you not to inform it in front of government officials as it will be considered a violation. This is a payment that you may not expect at first, because doctors usually don't accept payments directly from their clients but to the cashier.

That being said, I think that if the delivery fees were so urgent would they have done the delivery without upfront payment? I hope that is not the case. That would be very cruel towards your wife or any wife, for that matter.

Anyway, I liked your Bitcoin story. Congrats on becoming a parent! Merit to you :)

Let's assume you live somewhere in Russia based on your posting history (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=970225;sa=showPosts;start=4160). Is it true that people in Russia today still find it difficult to access ATMs and have to walk a long way from somewhere without ever thinking that they can transfer them directly to other bank accounts? Are people in Russia still better off giving birth to their child in a clinic with only two employees + 1 doctor to treat them than going to the hospital? It seems a little confusing.

But for whatever it is, I congratulate you on the birth of your child.  ;)

For sure there would no sign or symbol but rather these things turns out to be on point or personal which he hadnt expected that the doctor of his wife is accepting something payment like this which i could say its a

good timing or good thing for him yet he could really able to pay up via bitcoin or crypto which is a good call if he was in short of cash he had in pocket.Good thing that the doctor is really willing to accept that kind of
payment. For sure it would really be that become popular for those people who do reside on that place where to know that you could make use of it in terms of payment of the service that it gives.

Probably the doctor is aware of that but he just ignored the possibility of being attacked. But i would say congrats mate and also kudos to this good doctor who understands your situation and accepts bitcoin payment without hesitation. However, it could not be a loss for the doctor because he knew that bitcoin could be more expensive in the next couple of years, so accepting as early as today could be a smart move.

I think you must name your child with something related to crypto he is actually in this world thanks to crypto :D but yes he must have been a very enthusiastic investor or bitcoin maniac having accept his payment for the delivery in Bitcoins. I think this might advocate other doctors and hospitals to start accepting payment in bitcoin as well.

No need to apologize dear, we just asked this question as it was clear that any government hospital would not allow such payments, and the doctor who gave you this favor must own his own private clinic.  :)

By the way, you can give advice to the doctor that publically he can announce or write in his clinic that bitcoin payments are accepted. This might help him to gain more popularity.

Dude, congratulations for having your first baby in the family! The feeling is definitely surreal- being able to take care and see your child growing up is an experience that is worth everything. Make sure to properly take care of the family and keep your obligations intact for a stable and healthy upbringing process.

Anyway, it is just truly beholding to see the development of cryptocurrencies over the years. Before, its released was frowned upon and lots of people criticized its decentralization aspect. But now in this day and age, you will find it rare for a person if they do NOT know about the existence of BTCs- in fact, many have already started integrating it into their financials and payment methods.

Again, congratulations for your family and may this experience bring you further closer!

I think it's a great story about the importance of crypto in nowadays and it's direct influence on our everyday life. I was thinking the same too as normally we need to pay to the hospital and not the individual doctor. Maybe the doctor was the head/owner of the hospital and he had the power to allow payments in cryptocurrencies.
As I said and I apologize in advance that the Thread that I made is not good and also incomplete because I am in a hurry, and it is not a hospital, like a clinic or midwife practice where there are only one or two assistants.
and it's private property, and also not accepting bitcoin payments this is just a coincidence and he helped me in a confusing situation because I don't have cash and an ATM machine or from a crowd center very far. And most importantly because my wife doesn't want to be away from me even if it's just to an ATM, so I applied for payment using bitcoin after I found out the doctor was involved with bitcoin.
In any case, the main thing is that the events in this story you told ended well and bitcoin had an important place in this. I don’t even know how everything would have developed if you didn’t have bitcoin or refused to accept it as payment. But I’m sure that this would certainly create unnecessary troubles or difficulties for you and your family at such an important and crucial moment. From my observations, similar stories are liked by crypto community (including myself) when bitcoin is useful and comes in handy at times of need. This gives hope and confidence that bitcoin has a use (we know it all here for the most part) and value, not only as a currency, unlike those who prefer to hate bitcoin.

An event that will certainly not be forgotten, Bitcoin becomes a very useful payment tool when you don't have cash.
Also happy with the safety of your wife and baby.

But don't you have a little documentation in the form of photos or videos when the incident happened or take a photo of a doctor wearing a t-shirt with the bitcoin logo. Or proof of payment transactions to the doctor.
This thread would be even more amazing if there was any evidence of this happening.
but once again congratulations on the birth of your baby boy.

And then I rubbed my chest and I said can I pay all the birth fees in bitcoin and I ended up paying in bitcoin about 0.007 or about $210.

sorry if my words are not good and also incomplete because this is my first experience paying using bitcoin by accident and it doesn't mean the clinic accepts payments using bitcoin but coincidentally the owner and he himself is a doctor and happens to be involved with bitcoin.

and my son's name: Muhammad Alvan Khaleed (male) and born on June 2, 2022 at 02:45.

And it's also my first time to create a Thread because of the unexpected and unforgettable experience
a touching event and I think it will not be forgotten for a lifetime, lucky enough you can get a doctor who is indeed involved in bitcoin so that you can fully accompany your wife during this important condition, from the name, I believe if you are a Muslim and I will pray that you and your family will always be in the protection of Allah, Insha Allah, Muhammad Alvan Khaleed will be a devoted child to his parents and may Allah always bestow him with the blessings of health and long life. Amen...!

Wow, that is something that I haven't heard in a while. A child being born with the help of bitcoin.
You are really lucky. Firstly, the child was born in good health and your wife delivered the baby normally.
Secondly, the doctor understood your situation and accepted bitcoin as a payment.
Thirdly, the date of birth is also quite matching i.e. 02/06/2022
Congrats brother, I wish you all the best for a new beginning.

Bitcoin is not only for certain groups, but can be owned by anyone and any profession. It should come as no surprise when a doctor gets involved in the crypto world especially since he might be interested in investing with it. There are many government employees in my country who have been involved in crypto, this is good news but unfortunately we can't pay anything with bitcoin because the government doesn't legalize it as a means of payment.

To the OP, I congratulate you on becoming a father to your first child. Would you be angry if someone called your child a bitcoin child because you paid for the birth in bitcoin? Lol sorry I was just kidding.

Congrats on your new journey as a father. The situation might have undeniably favored you because instead of paying the doctor in cash, he would gladly accept bitcoin as a payment. That's so great of him because he knows exactly your struggle being the only one who will watch on your wife and child. However, i am quite worried since you posted in here those things that needs to be in private. But i understand as you're just too excited to express what you are feeling right now. Maybe just be careful next time.

I am hope more places acts like the doctor you mentioned and accept the option of getting payed in Crypto-currency for their services.

Its not necessarily for him to put up name which is something related with crypto or bitcoin itself but it isnt really bad considering or connecting into the situation on where he paid up the service via
Bitcoin which is really a good call that the doctor do really accepts that one and this one happened via accident which is totally unexpected but it good that you could really encounter up people
on having this kind of belief when it comes to bitcoin or crypto which you could eventually able to make out some dealings or payment in regarding into their service which is really a good
option to have and not only that hassle free or convenient but it also proves out its utility on real life use case.

First of all I'd like to express my huge congratulations to the father and wish you and your newborn child to be wealthy and healthy ;D
I think it's a great story about the importance of crypto in nowadays and it's direct influence on our everyday life. You'll never know when you get caught in the situation like this when the crypto is probably the most unexpected way of resolving the problem but it's also the one of the most easiest ways of it.
Wishing the child to be healthy is already enough. That is more important there more than the wealth but cryptos are indeed also important, not because it can make someone wealthy but because there are time where cash are not available or we accidentally left it on our home but most of the times we can carry our phones with us.

We shall not worry because by using only our phone we can now pay someone or something using bitcoins. Not all times there are atm's and also if ever there atm's there is no guarantee that they are functioning and sometimes they also run out of money but we cant experience all of these issue's in bitcoin. Bitcoin is always available 24/7.

Congratulations mate. I think its easier dealing with modern public service operators who has embraced owning their privacy and complete ownership of their funds which Bitcoin has offered and  because it opens up doors to multiple choice of payment the issue of network and poor bank server limitation can also to tackled. I think your baby is quite lucky you embraced Bitcoin before his birth making his delivery look so unique, digital with a majestic decentralized payment on his head

Already the child is being named as Muhammad Alvan. This means something intellectually more valuable. The usage of cryptocurrency have helped in the hardship. Many such incidents might be happening around, and very few get to be known to the world. The world is getting moved with technology and this is a fine example. In the past a doctor doesn't know much about technology, but he masters the human anatomy. Now technology have provided path for everyone to know and get adopted to technology.

Well some of us think like this but the reality is, it doesn't matter whether you spend it directly as OP did or you sell to fiat and spend the bottom line is you are still spending that amount of Bitcoin/satoshis either way except you have other means of payment that will make you not spend from your Bitcoin HODLings.
Congratulations to OP and the rest of his family.

I wish you would have given your child name that is crypto related (just kidding).

Since I understand bitcoin and Crypto I always run out of fiat, I don't know why it's so. Whenever I need cash I'll have to sell coins in order to use cash.

Based on the name Muhammad Alven it looks like he's from Indonesia. This name can be seen much on Indonesia than any other countries. As said the entry of him to the world itself have got connection with bitcoin. This is something really special for Muhammad Alven. This incident shows that people are slowly getting transformation towards direct dealing with cryptocurrency which is the reason for which Satoshi innovated it.

Congrats on the baby boy. Now this is what BTC was intended to be, a cashless P2P transaction that can be a tool, but not the saviour or the only means, how those laser eyed goblins make it out to be. Unfortunatelly, you had to see it from his shirt and not from a sign upfront and it still feels like it's fairly underground, but we need more P2P transactions like these. It remindad me about the story of a guy buying a car with BTC in Ukraine at the begining of the war.

Interesting story, congrats to OP although it's rather belated as I hadn't seen this thread before. In that case without bitcoin, you probably have to spend a lot of time running to find ATMs to withdraw money and there's nothing better than that doctor being a bitcoin user too. It's just a coincidence but bitcoin's superiority over fiat can be seen in this case.

If you live in a country where bitcoin is accepted as legal, I think it would be great if you suggest that your doctor consider accepting bitcoin as payment for his or her clinic.

This is how Bitcoin is evolving and helping people solve sudden problems that almost lost hope and saving time in difficult situations like this.
In the move for  world wide quick adoption for Bitcoin, if individuals, private and institutional organization could embrace Bitcoin in this manner and start accepting Bitcoin in their various hospital, schools , hotels, shops/grocery stores etc , the Government in my view would have no option left for them to do than to start legalizing Bitcoin in their respective countries which El Salvador and the Central African Republic has taken step in the direction.

Look at the convenience and how it works when the time you really need it the most, this is the same idea that Satoshi Nakamoto wanted to spread to the world but unfortunately, no matter how good your invention always ends up getting some critics who never appreciate and wanted to destroy it. Thankfully the OP shared this wonderful story with us because most of the time you only read about some successful investments using bitcoins nowadays, people forgot to realize the importance of having bitcoins in your crypto wallet as a means of payment and can be used for emergency as well.

Even if its banned but still it cant really be stopped since people could really make use and make transactions p2p without being caught or something like that and this is the one of the main
reason on why government do hate it that much which they couldnt really able to get rid of it and since its decentralized and anonymous then you could really expect that people would
really be using it because of these benefits and utility and take not that we could even deal up with investment which would really be good on holding for long term.
You could really make use of it on times of need or last option as long it would be available then it would really be life saving.

The important thing is that they are both safe, and that the doctor was willing to accept crypto as payment.
On times like this we would really feel some relief from our part knowing that we wouldn't have any problem about payments or money.
I experienced it before when I run out of cash or fiat, and only have crypto currency when I was out of town for vacation with my friends.

Yes, the most amazing part is that I'm sure the OP didn't pay in the hospital directly; instead, he paid directly to the doctor, and the doctor will be the one who processes the payment to the hospital, which is a good indication that there will be a way to pay in crypto currency. Luckily, the OP didn't miss the hint or the opportunity to do so.

That's also why we should always have a fiat currency. In sad reality, not all establishments or businesses can accept bitcoin or any crypto currency. It happens to me that I don't have any cash anymore and try to negotiate, but they don't know how crypto currency works. That's why they can't accept the payment. As a last resort, I ended up borrowing money from my friends. So that's the lesson I learned: no matter how we believe in crypto currency, we still need to have some fiat currency.

This thread was posted in 2022 and right now, his child has been around 1 year 8 months. It is almost similar with my child age. Well, and this was a great experience, not only about the birth but also the way to pay. Fortunately, the birth is in a private clinic I think, so it means that the doctor may be the one who has the clinic. So, he could easily give payment directly by transferring from wallet to wallet. I don't know what the regulation of using Bitcoin as means of payment in his country, but the fact that they used the payment directly, it seems no matter, as long as it still became a secret in their real life.

For, in my country, Bitcoin is illegal if used as payment directly. So, whatever the condition, if it is in hospital or other publics spaces in which not a private clinic or something like that, it will not be able to do it again.

It's very unfortunate to hear. There may be situations where you only have BTC in your wallet and no cash, making it difficult to use immediately. Additionally, if it is illegal to withdraw BTC in your country, that could pose further challenges.

I am not so surprised to see this news. Because the adoption of Bitcoin is growing day by day. In mostly payment, Bitcoin is also used as a payment method. Bitcoin is the best currency in the world. But if is only available even you are connected with the internet. So, if you don't have internet access you cannot access your wallet

Bitcoin is a good alternative to make payments with any day, the adoption is growing everyday and more people have crypto wallets now, so it's a good thing to sometimes use Bitcoin, for payments, not to only hodle it for investment or trading purposes, afterall Satoshi Nakamoto, created the crypto coin mainly for p2p purposes. I'm happy for the OP, guess he's boy is warming up for second birthday this year, I'm also happy that Bitcoin, came in handy to pay hospital bill. Hopefully one day more countries will adopt Bitcoin, as their legal tender, then Bitcoin will be truly used more freely by more people.

op First of all congrats to you for becoming a father and wish your wife and baby stay healthy. This incident of yours really surprised me. Because no one has ever heard of having a baby with Bitcoin before. You're in luck because if the doctor wasn't wearing a Bitcoin t-shirt, you might not have known he was involved with Bitcoin. The bitcoin t-shirt read that made it easy for you to understand that the doctor was involved in bitcoin that made it possible for you to pay all the expenses of having a baby with bitcoin. You will remember this memory of your baby paying your baby's delivery bill with bitcoins.

It's very unfortunate to hear. There may be situations where you only have BTC in your wallet and no cash, making it difficult to use immediately. Additionally, if it is illegal to withdraw BTC in your country, that could pose further challenges.
I have faced this situation several times lately due to the high inflation rate that is currently hitting my local fiat currency, I hardly keep fiat in my bank because the purchasing power of my currency is steady decreasing against the dollar and Bitcoin as whenever I want to fund my account I had to pay way higher than what the price is the previous week or day, so now I resorted to saving small amount of in my bank because of this recent development with my local fiat currency, Today I went to purchase something worth big amount of money more than what I had in my bank account, then I had to withdraw but if it was a situation where the seller is a Bit coiner either accepts Bitcoin or any stable coin that would have saved me the stress.

So, Op is lucky enough that the hospital owner is Bitcoiner and accepted to receive payment via Bitcoin.

There was really the time when you find yourself in a situation where you need to make a purchase and wish to use your Bitcoin investment, you'll want to ensure that the merchant you intend to buy from accepts Bitcoin as payment. This scenario is common for Bitcoin investors due to its convenience and hassle-free transaction process. Because you can direct sending your Bitcoin to the merchant, unlike doing the process where you will first need to withdraw it and transfer it to a CEX platform before it can be deposited into your bank account.

I'm surprised for the luck the OP saw in that clinic because, he said not that the clinic is accepting BTC from patient payment in the clinic but he seen the doctor with BTC logo that gave him the confidence that the doctor may have knowledge of BTC which the doctor confirmed that he has and, his  problem was solved for him to pay for his wife delivery in the clinic which the doctor accepted to do it on behalf of the clinic.

There is no magic you can do to have access to your wallet without internet network in that geographical area which is the luck the OP experienced from the transaction he made to the doctor with BTC for the clinic management to allowed him to go with his family
because he has paid the clinic bill.

I am sure this wouldn't be possible in many countries because Bitcoin payments are banned still (so sad) or not favored. But if its clinic of a doctor it's pretty much possible to pay with Bitcoin. I mean why wouldn't clinic owner accept Bitcoin payments if he is already trading it? I think this event is great example how weird issues we are having because lack of banking services in some regions. And this shows Bitcoin is supreme transaction method sometime.
