Title: Scammed for 25$
Post by: Amin.Rezaeian70 on June 30, 2022, 01:27:51 PM
Hello

I purchased an Office HB 2021 PC&Mac key from the member named dadan (you check his profile in below link):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=870606

I paid with USDT trc20 and here is the payment details:
https://tronscan.org/#/transaction/57f305903b90574b505d31800975011f8f54b7e73b76a8ecec94a3e8306bba00

Unfortunately the guy did not deliver the key and is not replying to my messages!

I am pretty sure that he has been scammed by another person and he is not replying me.

I attached our whole conversation chat exported from telegram:
https://file.io/MCJPQLoqYkY1

Also here are some screenshots of our conversation:
https://ibb.co/QJfSTPW
https://ibb.co/gjRTTJY
https://ibb.co/2Zc3T30
https://ibb.co/1b1rmFd

Also I asked him to confirm that he is talking to me in telegram and he confirmed it via a message on BTCtalk forum:
https://ibb.co/5jzzspH
https://ibb.co/x5zK2zx

Please ask this JR.Member to refund my money!
Thanks

You should just buy the damn thing - I mean you already lost 25 bucks, what the hell... I think you can probably do a month-to-month subscription if you want... Not sure why people think they are gonna get "cheap" keys here safely - There must be plenty of websites out there that sell keys without issues on the cheap... I don't think you are gonna get many people to feel sorry for you here, unfortunately.... ::)

The forum is NOT moderated for scammers. That's what the trust system is for ...

If you look here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=870606 , you will see he has done this in the past. Always check a user's trust rating before dealing with them ::)

johnsmithx   2016-09-19   Reference   Sells fake AWS credit codes. This scammer just stole $30 from me. Avoid!

Do you understand exactly how forum marketplace work? This is not a e-commerce place which you have security over what you are buying and selling here. You should do your own research and protect your own money. This forum is decentralized which means the administrator is not liable to all your trade. You choose to pay the guy without doing research so deal with it. The only thing we can do as DT is tag him but I’m currently having problem to verify your proof image since I can’t open it.

I will use this thread as reference in for my feedback.

That's fine, but you aren't doing something right, because I see it... :P

I wouldn't trust this forum either, I can't tell you how many times I've been scammed here, but that's how you learn, the hard way.

I'm not going to tag anyone over 25 bucks myself, I have a rate limit of 50 USD myself... /jk... ;D

Click the "show ratings" on untrusted feedback, you will see another person who have left negative tag. If he's really a scammer, the reason why he not get negative tag by trusted member is no one ever made a deal since 2016 until now except you.

Forum can't verify which user is legit and scammer, there's no way to know this when the sellers is newbie account or no have any reputation yet.

You shouldn't blame the forum because of your own fault.

You've completely missed the point of this forum. This is not "buy illegal keys" forum.
And on trust, I could indeed give him negative feedback, but if I start that, I would give you too negative feedback as buyer of stolen keys. Shortly, you're no better than the one scamming you.

But the conclusion is partly correct, although a bit late: you should indeed not trust anyone.

The forum does not offer any built-in escrow services. If you are dealing with anyone here, you are at your own risk. Experienced people make sure to use escrow and trust ratings to make a deal.

I think you will again do the same mistake.  On 5th October 2020, you did the same mistake Scam Report Against RoyalKey (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5280156.msg55320695#msg55320695) and lost 200$.
On April 07, 2022,  Scammer ===>> davidTef (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5393567.msg59789788#msg59789788) scamed you with 90$. Now someone scammed you with 25$. You never learnt the lesson.

he is obviously just too naive and believes everything he reads. I believe that after the 10th scam he will be much more careful.

OP, I suggest you create a flag on Dadan profile, so it will be visible on all its threads and everyone (even guests) will be warmed. it could significantly ruin his business here.
I leave them a red tag, now I guess it's much more visible.

Don't get your skivvies in a bunch, we're here to help.  The trouble is that there are a ton of scammers out there, and there's no way the forum can afford enough moderators to prevent them all.  Any attempt to prevent even one scam will cause a false sense of security and likely cause more people to get victimized.

I'm older than I care to admit in public, and I've been using forums for over 20 years.  I can tell you from experience that this is the most free and liberated forum I've ever visited.  Freedom isn't free, however; we all need to remain diligent to preserve it.  Whenever we have a modicum of freedom, someone will inevitably abuse it.  So, I am sorry for your loss, but at the same time it's up to you to keep yourself safe in this space.

Here are two suggestions for you going forward that will help you avoid this type of thing again, whether you choose to stay here or try to do business elsewhere:

  • Caveat Emptor, or buyer beware.
  • If it sounds too good to be true, it's probably a scam.

Good luck.

Don't expect fast action by DT members to tag the account you accused since they have different things to do so you should wait for them to tag that account since they don't have an obligation to act fast as you want if something bad happen the same on your case. Also you should do your own research to verify people if they are legit or not because this forum has no moral obligation if you get scam so you don't have any rights to blame this forum for scamming issues happen to you since if you just hire a trusted escrow to middle up the deal for sure this incident will not happen.

I always feel pity for those newbies who got scammed from known scammers — already tagged but not from dt.

The op is correct when he says he cant see the other negative feedback aside from him because it hidden by default, need to click the "show rating" first.

Even though the people saying that the forum dont moderate scams but it somewhat working for it just selectively, there is the flag well, old users only knew that not newbies.
And why dont @theymos make that "show rating" link removed and make it default to show those  untrusted feedback.

This is not the only first time it happens when newbie got scammed coz of not seeing those feedback. Then here comes those members blaming op coz he was scammed like it his fault completely, it might be somewhat true, but you dont need to repeat it again and again like you're siding to the scammer.

You don't pay attention to details, so you didn't even notice that it was a Senior Member, not a Jr. Member as you claim. In addition, you have been a member of the forum since 2020, and the first thing you should have done is read the rules of the forum - the scam is not moderated, use escrow and don't blindly trust anyone.

Considering you only lost $25, consider it a cheap life lesson learned.

These excuse are the reasons that made this forum the best place for scammers!! Made this forum a useless forum!

My recommendation to all: Stay Away From This Forum!

Anyone is going to do something about it in thin forum which is full of scammers?

You trusted a newbie account without any proven trade history. It's not the forum's fault that you keep making the same mistakes over and over again for years, and no one is forcing you to make such mistakes. It's important to learn from them.

I will not trust anyone from this piece of shet forum anymore!

It is up to you whether you find this forum useful, although nobody will miss you if you decide to leave.

I would miss him. Please don't leave the forum because of one bad egg.

Hello Amin.Rezaeian70 ,

Could you do us a favor and send the scammer a private message (PM) with this thread so that we could here his own side of the story. At least let him/her have the decency to defend himself.
If your accusation is true then his/her trust score should reduce so as to warn others of his scamming activities

Good find, I had no idea the OP has made a habit of this stupidity.  It's really not helping that he's specifically looking for shady deals, buying stolen, hacked, or cracked digital goods.  What the hell does the OP expect, that he's dealing with up-standing, honest, and legitimate sellers when he's making these kinds of deals?  Only a moron would continue these shenanigans after being scammed so many times.

@Amin.Rezaeian70, I take back what I said.  Maybe you should get the fuck out of here.  Without idiots like you around these petty scammers wouldn't get a single satoshi, and then they would leave too.

What on Earth is wrong with you. A user just got scammed, warned others about a potential/regular scammer and you are discouraging him from exercising his civic responsibility by alerting others.

If people listen to this your particular advice, only you will remain in bitcointalk forum after driving others away. U should be ashamed of yourself!!!

Well, I'm not ashamed of myself, and you're not going to do or say anything that will change that.  If you had done your research before condemning me you'd know there are no innocents in these shady deals for hacked digital goods.  You might also learn that I tried to help prevent these types of scams in the past, only to be harassed and spammed with scam attempts myself.

If the OP wants to keep dealing in stolen and hacked digital goods, even after being scammed multiple times he's either too stupid to learn his lesson, or too greedy to resist the bait.

You have a point. But that doesn't mean you should scare him away because he keeps making mistakes. You treat every case differently even if it has happened before. I once had a habit of buying cheap clothes until I discovered that it doesn't last longer than original ones. I learnt the hard way. But I also trusted people who sold it to me believing they were authentic.

Most people will patronize the underdog/local dealer compared to using the official store. It is everywhere.

Or are you trying to disdain SMEs, local products/dealers, freelancers or  retailers/ web developers here in bitcointalk?

Imagine!  Don't digress from the topic. A guy was scammed$25 and you are disregarding him. Instead, you find faults in him and others helping him
