What a really cool concept, I wish I new about this earlier (going to call my local chains just in case they have any left):

https://www.whichwich.com/cryptobox/

What I think is interesting is this " Cryptocoins are valid for two years from April 29, 2022".  I guess they wanted to limit their liability, as these are currently worth about $10.

I decided to have lunch at Wich Wich today and got the crypto box. $16 for the sandwich, chips, drink, cookie, coin pack and box.

thanks for sharing @Steeley - I just did some looking and there are a few here by me, I need to check and see if they have the same package! otherwise I might hit you up to get me a coin - you'll get a free lunch out of it as I dont think the food would hold up for shipping lol

I found a location that was willing to ship them to me at $15 face value.  I added a 20% tip and paid like $10 shipping.  I ordered 14 in case anyone wants one. I  am into them for about $19 I guess, I would be happy to send a few if anyone wants one.

Thanks!

It's a New Mexico location and they do have more if anyone else wants some.  I am sure they would ship more as the franchise makes out like a bandit.  Most locations sent back the coins, but Which Wich allowed each location to decide to keep the coins or send them back, so likely there are other locations that still have some.

Saw those for the whole set for 50-100 - so this seems expensive for the one card

For example - here is set of 1- 70 missing # 42 “Renoir” sold for 55

https://www.ebay.com/itm/284891443420?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=UDdHO8jwTzW&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=yFyE_z6aTcG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Just did some google search to find it so I dont know much about the cards but it doesnt seem to be crypto specific more or less just had a card or maybe two in it pertaining to crypto.

I agree, just looks like any standard BTC coin found on eBay set in cardboard, no specific numbering or anything so didn't think it was anything, just not seen before

If you include shipping to Aus, $3 sounds good to me  :D

FYI.. the bearbrick market is huge with fraud. Tons of fakes out of China. Dont buy unless- seller is willing to send actual pictures of their product. Not stock pics. Must send pictures of the box including the sticker and hologram on the bottom of box. A box without holograms that says medicom is probably fake. If they are willing get pictures of the bottom of the feet of the bearbrick.  Also the bearbrick comes with a hidden app pamphlet for authentication. A picture of the pamphlet would do.

Frank Muller watch actually on auction from 2020.
500 pieces supply.
However the description says, this is not the first bitcoin watch produced...

As far as I know from the description i don't think it's possible to use a custom key since it has already been engraved on the dial...

Quote
the dial includes a laser-engraved QR code for a public wallet address, which can be used to deposit Bitcoins and check account balance. To enable this secure process, a sealed USB stick is included with the watch to store the private key.

When i inquired about them a while back, they said that it is possible to get the QR changed for a fee.  Not sure if they still offer it now though, but i wouldn't see why not.

on another note, I don't know if it is because it is used, but those pictures make it look a lot less attractive than on their website.

Man, that‘s a cool find. Got some board game fanatics as friends, could be a great way to get them interested in bitcoin but not at that price tag. Also would like to try it myself.
Trying to google “hodl up - a bitcoin mining game“ didn‘t produce any results.

Thanks for the specific info.
Just wondering, isn't it extremely high risk to copyright-infringe a brand of a massive company like Disney - I read an article (not in English, so no link here), about a case where customs checked and found Disney-plagiarism items leading to a litigious value fo 2.5 M Euro. Immediately involving a tiny army of Disney lawyers.
So even just owning such an item seems like a risk not worth taking to me.

It's not owning it, but the produces who would get fined.
There was one case I heard of where a day-care center for little kids were contacted by Disney because they painted a Mickey Mouse on the wall for the kids and someone had randomly posted a pic of it on social media
Disney saw this and told them to remove it....

Being that, come January 2024, Mickey Mouse will no longer be protected by copyright, as it has run out and will now fall into public domain.... kinda like the Happy Birthday song!! :D

What a sad kindergarden story. lol But not suprising.
Hmm, as far as I know if you import plagiarized goods you can get in legal trouble, too. Maybe it depends on the amount - if it looks business sized (for resale etc), it's probably are more major issue.

Wow, can't wait for all the Mickey Mouse art that will be about to pop out after that date.
Did some reading on the topic, seems like the copyright would have run out 1984 already, but Disney somehow managed to lobby for an extension. wtf

For Donald Duck it will take until 2029 to become public domain.

What kind of material is bismuth? For some reason my mind has marked it as "toxic" but not sure. Just checked wikipedia, it says an intoxication is unlikely to happen but similar to that of lead poisining.
Just don't eat the coin I guess.

Lol. The cat is definitely not included. But it's quite adorable, though. :D

I've read that Bismuth is rarer than Silver and it's safe to the touch. It gets that "crystalized" effect when it gets in contact with the air and other elements (oxidization). This creates Bismuth oxide which gives the metal a "rainbow color". There's someone called "The Bismuth Smith" which makes art out of this metal. I'd suggest you check it out here: https://www.thebismuthsmith.com/ (https://www.thebismuthsmith.com/)

That said, I think I'm going to let my Bitcoin round made out of Bismuth to oxidize for a bit. It's just to see that "rainbow effect" on the coin. It will look even better in my opinion. :)

Zuru just released a "Series 5" of its "Mini Brands" collection. You can find an eBay listing for the Dogecoin mini coin here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/364319759665 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/364319759665)

Isn't it cute?  ::)

Kinda cute, that shiba always looks cuddle-worthy.
However why is there a genereic ETH logo on the other side? Kinda random and I don't see the connection to Dogecoin at all.
Not familiar with mini-brands - it's similar to a kinder suprise egg?

Zuru made an Ethereum mini coin, but I couldn't find it on eBay. There's one listing which includes both the DOGE and ETH mini coins, but I believe it's overpriced. You can see it here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/155640714795 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/155640714795)

I own the mini Bitcoin from Series 4 and it's quite tiny. It has the same design of the standard MJB coins. ;D

I’ve got the mold for this coin if anyone is interested, just FYI.

I wouldn't call it a copy, though. Sure, the circuit based design has similarities, but it's just avery popular theme in Bitcoin-world.
It started with these cheap non-loaded BTC coins I think.

Hey y'all!

I've just found one of those early silver Dogecoin bars for sale on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/256265665016 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/256265665016)

I think it's a good deal, but I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to market prices for cryptocurrency collectibles.

Is this a good buy? Thanks. :)

That appears to be a silver plated one.

If you look at the mintages here, http://bigtimespaghetti.com/mintage.html

you will see there were 20 pure silver (unnumbered) and 31 pure silver (numbered)

and then, If you look at the pictures here, you will see one clearly marked as pure silver but is not numbered.

https://imgur.com/a/gwWEYyH

the point is the silver ones are marked as pure silver - the plated ones are not. and the one on the ebay listing appears to be one of the unmarked bars.

Nice observation, bud. And yet I've thought I was actually bidding for the real deal. Do you think the asking price of $99 is fair for a silver plated piece with a mintage of 180 units? Sorry for asking but I am new to cryptocurrency collecting.

Cheers :)

it's not that bad. and I messaged them on ebay and let them know there as well which may be the reason the listing changed. so they are at least honest and just didnt realize their mistake. you could message them on ebay and offer to do the deal thru the forums - they might go a little lower if they dont have to give a huge cut to ebay.

I do marvel at the lack of care and quality of pictures that sellers put up for $100+ items. A lot of it still gets sold though.

There was a ( Gold B )Casascius Series-3 Gold Plated Silver 1 oz 2013 1BTC Bitcoin (Redeemed) up for auction on eBay, being sold out of Germany , been following the auction closely, it had a few days left and it was no reserve bid up to about $700, then it just disappeared today, no record of it, nothing in completed items, weird.  Was a nice coin, I wonder if someone negotiate a price outside of the auction. It was a beautiful find.. the only proof I have of it is from my email

Link of coin: https://ibb.co/qCq46py

Which one of you guys snagged it ?  And how much do you want profit for it ?  Lol 😂

Could be a scam.

Do you have the username of the seller. This appears very similar to a deal that I have personally been scammed on.

Guy lists Og coin for no reserve, coin sells low, he takes you on telegram and scams you.

Very similar to this:

The Cas the scammer is claiming to be selling is from a previous auction on the auction platform Scarce City.

I’m pretty eBay savvy, in the early 2000s I was one of Ebay’s top 500 sellers. I know how to search pretty extensively, but I can’t find any of the info it’s like it completely disappeared, that Email is the only trace of it, and when you click the link, it goes to a broken page on eBay . But you could easily be right .

I think he got worried it wasn’t going to do the money, (which it wouldn’t have done close to 5k pounds).  But I forget if you stop your own auction does it still show up in completed items, im a little rusty.  Thanks for the info ,

If I remember correctly this was a special from their kickstarter.
Was the puzzle any good/cool/interesting or would you describe it more or less as a useless gimick?
Got a few of these decks, too. Pretty good finish and I know some card magicians using them for that reason, too.

I bought it directly from their site - it did take me a while to get it done - and just in case I could not do it again to prove I had done it originally - I swapped in the black and green decks :)

if you know the code to the cards it is possible to know what each card is from the backside.

they have a buy 3 get 1 free - if 4 people agreed to get one the cost would be 60 per coin vs 80 per coin. I cannot do it because it requires a fiat pymt. but if someone does, I would buy one of the coins.

Less than load value is pretty rare, but I see this as an indicator of a lack of general interest.

rs managed to snag a coin funded with .1BTC ($3732) for only $2926. Netting this user a profit of $806. There was most likely a sales tax on the sale so rs walked with more like $600 - $500 in PROFIT just from buying a coin on eBay.

rs could peel the coin as soon as he gets it and redeem the funds and sell at exchange rate for nice 10 - 15% profit.

The premium on the coin is most likely another $1000, so rs made close to $1600 theoretically from this deal before even getting the coin in his claws.

The world is sleeping on physical bitcoin and crypto in general. The results of recent auctions just continue to show this.

If you are reading this, you are the 0.01% in terms of market positioning.

Sketchy as hell, but yeah, cool design...
Pretty much the only info I could find: https://walletscrutiny.com/hardware/icoldwallet/#result

"The original company is named Shenzhen Feitianxia Technology Co, Ltd. It is also known as idiskk. The product listings on Amazon.com are under the brand ySky or Jostart. However, we believe these are produced by the same company: Feitianxia Technology Co, Ltd."

Has anyone ever seen these before? And why can’t I find their official website? I like the concept in a look, but I wish they had more info in a better name behind them to feel comfortable enough to use it..

I completely thought it was sketchy as hell too. Lol but I sure like the concept of design. I wish it was done buying more reputable company.

I’ve seen a lot of hardware wallets like this. Anyone would be insane to trust them. As a collectible to never be plugged in to a computer, sure why not. I’ve bought a few over the years. Mainly in my earlier btc days though when there weren’t many wallets. But yeah the fact that there’s no website tells you everything.

I don't think I ever heard about this device, and I actively follow and track all hardware wallet development for years.
This looks like a cheap device, made in China, and I would  not plug that into any other device.
Email verification sounds terrible for any hardware wallet  :P

100%, should be mandatory to not trust any 3rd party devices except maybe the handful of established ones.

I gotta say I usually wouldn't want to collect something that just makes use of the Bitcoin theme but has a good chance to be (or become) a scam. My taste has changed over the years I guess - for a while anything with a Bitcoin logo would catch my attention.
These days it would need to be an item that really displays some special level of art to make me overlook the possibly scammy side of it.

Large sale

2013 PCGS LEALANA bf black. Just sold for offer accepted $11,197, I used a site to let me see the actual sale price and it appears to be 8,950.00 AUD or $5888.20. This is the highest price I have ever seen one of these coins sell for if this is the case and this sale is legitimate.

I saw that sale this morning, I thought it was high also, but on eBay nothing surprises me.  There was a gold plated cas coin 25btc not loaded that sold a few days ago for $4,100.  I feel like one of you on here got it,  I bid till like $3,500 then jumped off, if it had a higher grade then MS60 I probably would have bid heavier.

There were many black address coins funded by Smoothie, hence they did not contain  “buyer funded” on the hologram.  The ones he marked as “buyer funded” were not funded by him and shipped unfunded.

none of smoothies coins are ever funded by him - all his coins are funded by the buyer. The only difference is whether the buyer funded them before smoothie shipped them or upon receiving them. If it was upon receipt and the coins were shipped unfunded they got the buyer funded holograms.

But to the best of my knowledge, smoothie has never directly funded his coins.

Then we'll say pre-funded if no "buyer funded" mark and unfunded or funded afterwards if marked as “buyer funded”.

That is fine but the reality of it is that all smoothies coins are directly funded by the buyer - the funds do not go to smoothie and he funds the coins - the buyer sends funds directly to the coin prior to shipping.

That is how all my “non” buyer funded purchases have been - if I am wrong and he did it differently at some point - correct me please.

We are slightly OT here regarding Ebay finds, but I'd like to jump in real quick regarding smoothies XMR releases - correct me if I am wrong but some of these were prefunded or were they not?

And yeah, regarding the BTC coins: "buyer funded" is slightly misleading / unprecise since all of them kind of are.

That was a really beautiful silver 10 Cas and I think the buyer got a really good deal actually. I think the seller has one more as he had two listed for sale for a long time at a buy it now price of like 17k USD. All the Cas coins this seller is auctioning off are really beautiful coins as they took great care when redeeming them to leave the holograms relatively undamaged.

Now I have 4 Bitcoin Magazine (10th Anniversary) issues left. I think they're being sold at a good price, considering that MSRP/retail price is now $600+. I can sell internationally outside eBay if anyone else is interested. PM me to settle a deal.

Heads up on currently listed 2023 Lealana Grim Reaper Gilt Rev PR on Ebay - wrong COA! Tracking backwards looks like during the last Stacks auction they accidentillay switched the Silver Rev PR and Gilt Rev PR COA's and both coins were sold with swapped COA's going un-noticed, and current owner/seller on Ebay has the Gilt Rev PR now up for sale with non-matching COA that should have been caught and corrected at Stacks before shipping. So the other coin must have been shipped to a buyer with swapped COA also (unless same person bought both). Side note - yesterday Ebay listing was $1450 or best, revised today to $2450 or best, relisted later today as an auction for starting bid of $2250. Sold in Stacks for $840.

Hey, Midwestcoinman

Thank you for catching that! I took down the auction. I will have to reach out to stacks to try to remedy the mix-up. I have been switching up the prices on it that's true. I also only paid $660 for it on stacks. I stole that coin for $660 if you ask me. Just compare that coin to the other reapers at auction. It was one of only 2 Rainbow Reapers in the auction graded PR70. The other sold for $1,320. Which is actually the coin that stacks swapped my COA with. Goes to show how comparable the two coins really are.

Kaz,
Congrats, GREAT buy at $660!, worth way more IMO for the long term. Keep us posted if Stacks helps remedy COA mix up.

I like Lealana's as much as the next person, but can someone explain why the recent releases are selling for such high prices?

I understand some of the originals going for as much as they do, but the reapers and some of the rainbow coins are selling for as much as some of the original sets... Which is a little baffling to me.

The reapers in particular were sold by smoothie last year.

The "Grim Reaper" series is among Lealana's lowest mintage releases. Making them much more scarce than previous releases. They also come with Signed and Stamped COA's

There is no reason as to why LEALANA coins go for "as much as they do". The fluctuations in market price are not based on anything concreate as of this point in time. The market for the coins as of now is very young and the market is attempting to find a market equilibrium but most of the value is based soley on speculation. As well as the emotions of investors and collectors.

The coins don't have much price history, as traders of these coins we are witnessing the formative years of price foundation building. Every auction held, every price realized adds to the price history of the coins so collectors can make more educated decisions.

In summery, nobody knows the value of these coins. All the collectors can do is speculate on the values until enough time has passed and enough of a concreate price foundation has been formed.

I would primarily agree with this. Due to past sales of Lealana's, its speculation that they can be flipped for a high price in the future. Its the same with Kialara's, and if another Casascius coin were made it would have people out the door willing to buy just for the flip.

Makes me a little sad, as people wanting to collect dont necessarily get the coins, and its just people wanting to make a buck.

In the last month on eBay I saw a (link below) 2022 Lealana 0.1 plain 1oz silver with a mintage of 200 (almost 10x the mintage  as a plain 2oz silver Reaper) PR69 sold for $1,250.   So to think of a PR70 Lealana Reaper , with the rainbow and a super low mintage of 25, to see one sell for over $2k I don’t think is that far out of the question. Plus it’s a very unique denomination, .2020 btc load amount, I think soon if they are being auctioned off loaded they will fetch a very nice premium being they load with a large amount for high-end collectors but not the new staggering amount for a 1.0 btc loaded Lealana coin, they are getting close to $100k now!  But that’s just my two cents.

First data on the LEALANA grim reaper coming out. This coin first sold at stacks a bit over three weeks ago for $660.

https://i.ibb.co/1sg1XbV/Screenshot-2024-04-24-230134.png (https://ibb.co/Jx1VpCL)

Today, someone sniped it on eBay for $2250, pretty crazy turnaround for the seller here. The market should take notice!

https://i.ibb.co/4gvjY14/Screenshot-2024-04-24-230057.png (https://ibb.co/sJxF6Ws)

We are seeing perfect PR70 grades being a smash hit among collectors as these grades garner the largest interest and the highest financial premiums. Some collectors are going for nothing short of 70 and paying top dollar!

-----

I am thinking about starting a running thread on eBay sales in this format with my commentary to I can compile a running price history that tracks the value of certain coins over time. Let me know if this would interest you.

To very impressive sales on eBay this week,  im very exited about the .01 Lealana sale price

Casascius sale price :  https://www.ebay.com/itm/196292516496

Lealana Sale price:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/226043006256

I have the email address of Mida on ebay... If anyone wants to connect with him and purchase outside of ebay (taxes and fees).  Do so at your own risk, as I cannot speak to the trust of the seller (although I believe trustworthy), but I can say that the email address came directly from that seller.

I’ve purchased several from Mida - many of the earlier S1 error ones that sold for approx $450 US each - haven’t been bidding recently as the ones now are selling for $1600-$1800 (although they are higher grades - mine were more MS64-65).

I recently purchase a 5BTC from him outside eBay and paid directly with BTC - no issues at all so I think he is trustworthy. Seems his supply is getting low so may only have a few more coins for sale - they were really great specimens.

I never personally understood as to why redeemed cas go for so much. Redeemed brass cas go for more than silver 2013 bf lealana which is nonsense. Silver > brass 24/7/365, but I guess some collectors don't see it this way.

I would prefer vintage Cas and BTCC over Lealana all day, for multiple reasons. To name a few:
- Lack of customer service by Smoothie relating to buyer funded public keys, when COA or paper key is misplaced
- Flooding S&B with "rare," unsold newer release items, or colorful firstbits for a money grab
- Smoothie not responding to messages, even relating to newer release items
- ETC
- ETC

I believe Mida on Ebay sells those redeemed items on behalf of someone else. Whoever the original owner was had a huge collection, but I do not believe it was Mida. My guess is he takes a cut on sale price and deals with potential tax burdens depending on Ebay's stance in 2024.

This is an excellent list of reasons to avoid LEALANA coins like the plague.

The free market is attempting to sort out what is legit and what is smoke in mirrors.

The money will flow to the hardest form of collectable.

Not entirely correct, people still purchase "BUYER FUNDED" coins in large numbers. As of right now for LEALANA BF is about 70% of the market volume (excluding load value). People still want them although the purists may consider them to be less desirable.

Yes these are posted quite frequently and are a scam. It’s not just crypto items but these are hacked eBay accounts that the seller uses to try get people to purchase the items outside of eBay and then never delivers the product. Stay away.

The Economist Magazine 1988, Phoenix cover "Get ready for a world currency"

This is listed for ... $25,000 - is this just a speculative price? surely nobody is going
to go even close to that.

Ok so whats up with this magazine? does anyone own one and what is the article on
world currency about? I guess its about digital currencies which was a bit groundbreaking
thinking back in 1988.

Can someone tell me why this is a Bitcoin or Crypto collectible?

Here is a link to an excerpt from the magazine for your review...  Sure sounds like Bitcoin!

Thank you markinaz, to me the excerpt reads at times like the "Euro" than a decentralised,
open source global unit of exchange.
