Just as the crypto industry is expanding and getting local adoption from individuals, co-operations, organisations and few countries  the same rate at which we have crypto enthusiast increasing in number which i see so worrisome and also a call for major concern. Reason been that as more people get involved in the crypto business the more scammers are likely to increase their technique and the more scammers get recruited. Staying off scammers path will require been well informed of their every new technique the can ever deploy against their potential victim.

To stay off scammers path users must

• Never invest in a project without a well structured community
• Pay close attention to the engagement within the community for suspicious activities
• Ensure you assets are off CEX

This is a good way not to fall cheaply to scam. If we are skeptical about what is thrown on our faces especially something that is relatiing to profit or some benefit then it will reduce our tendency to always fall for such. Being greedy and quick to make money is a leading cause for the falling into scam. Many newbies still fall on this despite the information and advise all over the thread.

Remember, when it is a too good to be true offer, it usually is and act accordingly.

        * Don't jump into a project/coin only based on the hype from advertisers (especially twitter)
        * Avoid any "too good to be true" investment
        * Avoid send me 1$ and I'll send back 2$ scams, no matter how reputable is the account calling for that
* Protect your coins (keep your coins on your wallet, use hardware wallet where possible, never give out wallet's seed, keep backup seed offline)

Scammers usually attack their prey with their highest vulnerable spot. Which one is it? I think it is greediness and being illiterate.
Because of that, if you want to invest, be sure to feed yourself with necessary knowledge. Knowledge from experience is good but you can also take legitimate one from other people.
Do not be greedy. Not everything that is being offered to you is true. Do not be deceived.
Also, be careful who you are trusting.

So what do you want if you are worried for the adoption to grow? Are you contented on the current rate of the adoption that we have right now? It's not that low but the numbers are decent so maybe you will be contented with it but I don't think the rest are going to agree with that as they always crave for more because for them, more adoption means more price increase.

Scammers will always assume that as more individuals join the cryptocurrency community, there are many people who haven't learned the fundamentals of being here and how to protect themselves from attacks from people like them. As a result, they develop a unique scamming technique that differs from the usual ones. The majority of scam victims are newbies since they are so readily seduced, especially those looking for quick cash. To avoid being duped, people should recognize a red flag when they encounter one.

- Enable Two-factor authentication for all your accounts
- Using of firewalls

But if you're going to think of it and avoid that attitude of being greedy then you can potentially avoid them at most time because you're all set and you won't show them that you're interested of earning a lot from their offers.

I also notice that a lot of people posing as "crypto brokers" are on the rise. This is the easiest scam to spot on and easiest to avoid since you can just say no to these brokers trying to force their service unto you and they'll be gone. However a lot of people still fall prey to these people albeit the warnings and the heads up. No matter how much you educate people on these things, they'd still believe that they will always know better than you and still follow their decision anyway. Greed is what drives these people to ruin and if they can't control their greed, then they'll eventually fall into a lot more scams.

It’s important to always be on guard and to keep our greed in check, which in my opinion is the main reason why people get scammed on the first place, after all scammers know that people more than anything want to obtain profits on the markets and they want them now, and as such they make all kind of promises about the huge amounts of money you can get with them, but if you take your time to analyze what they are saying you will realize that what they are promising is impossible to achieve, and once you realize this and encounter the same promises time and time again then you will learn to ignore all of those offers regardless of how attractive they may seem to the untrained eye.

Well the truth is, crypto was meant for everyone. It's a currency that should be used by anyone and everyone who has got the gadget, finds a merchant who can accept  and accepting it themselves for exchanges.

Stop promoting obvious scam project campaigns.

Everything that's related to a financial service there's always prone to scams.
The pump and dump scheme which is a very common kind of scam still exists nowadays because there are a lot of greedy people who are looking to take advantage of the market.

There are a bunch of scams that we should be avoided and they always have an advantage if you're knowledgeable about everything that you wanted to invest in.  DYOR is still the best practice when you're new to in investing crypto.

This is already given. Scamming people by scammers seems to become a business for them, they scam for a living, I can't stop to think if they can use the money they scammed to feed their family.
Keep in mind that even how huge or small a community, scammers will be there, especially on cryptocurrency market which is most projects are decentralized and anonymous, scammers are everywhere and they can easily do whatever they want.

I guess you really have to think that everyone is here to scam you, so best case scenario is not to trust anyone here, just because they said that they have the experience or some too good to be true claims.

So phishing, might be better to have a separate machine for all your crypto activities, i.e. your web wallet is store in that machine. So that when for unknown reasons, you got phished then your assets will not be affected. I know that maybe for some this is exaggerated, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

cryptocurrency industry or market is relatively new technology, we are still learning how to live with it, it is barely a decade old. So whatever things we are seeing in the industry we should endure and learn to live with it. The technology is new compared to technologies like internet television and more.

• whenever a stranger message you first for a business or an investment, it is a red flag. There is no how someone who doesn't know you would want you to make big money.

It is safer to  assume anyone you don't know, communicating with you is a scammer until it is proven otherwise.

What nonsense is this. Bitcoin is now safer because there’s already many trusted website such as exchange that has to safely buy and sell tokens. Bitcoin is much worst than this when I start in crypto last 2014 because there’s a lot of scam exchange, ponzi and hyip out there that attract newbie like me to invest for a quick profit.

Right now there’s already regulators who regulate those crypto companies to protect all of its consumer. Crypto user is much safer now because there’s already a lot of reliable service available if only they will not touch those shady services especially on shitcoins.

Not really, because as long as beginners are willing to learn more about crypto and put their time into practicing it, they can overcome the threat and even reduce the level of risk involved. Everything about a business has its own risks and will depend on the people who want to start it. And if they can be careful before deciding, I think they'll be fine and won't suffer the deception many people experience.

That's an option that you could use, but not many people have enough money to buy real estate for example, and I dislike gold because it is definitely not that much better. Think about it this way, gold is an asset that you invest into and it either goes up or down, but when was the last time you spent gold to buy something?

The rate of scams is on the increase lately, and I have been seeing a lot of cryptocurrency investment platforms that look so shady and just a close look will expose their scam but yet gullible and greedy people still fall for them.

I agree that never click on unknown links unless you are sure they are safe. Make sure to pay attention to the spelling of the website, as well as their URL as this can reveal whether it is a phishing site or not.

Storing your asset in a hardware wallet is a safe bet, to secure yourself all you need to do is to avoid interacting with strangers pinging in your social media, telegram or discord which ever you are using to communicate with the cryptocurrency community and then following their lead and clicking on the links they provide. Strangers that would give you suspicious links, they're the obvious scammers/hackers that attempting to phish you.

I also experienced what you shared. all I do is block accounts like that. what they say will not benefit us.

currently, scammers to watch out for also from the emails we receive. sometimes the email will automatically separate to spam. but sometimes they get away when using private email.

There are people who roam around as business developers are trapping the common people with high return statements. The people also doesn't have any understanding and just invest and end up losing.

It is wired because if you tell people not to do it, they would say "I am not an idiot, of course I won't believe in it", but if you keep any ponzi scheme long enough, there are tens of thousands of people who would believe in it. I have seen one with over a million people once, think about how long that has gone.

you will notice these scammers will just delete their account if you ignore their PMs especially in telegram. one basic rule is, if they sent you a PM, ignore it. usually they will offer too-good-to-be-true return of profits, which they are offering as a bait for most naive users.

The best way to stay above these scammers is:
1. Never promote their projects on social media platforms.
2. Invest in what you can afford to lose.
3. Don't necessarily be greedy when they promise high returns on investment.
4. Avoid shilling projects on Twitter and telegram.

True, but I think what happens is that people are using their personal telegram account as the account in which they join trading groups and the like as well, this means that when they receive a message like that instead of being suspicious of it they decide to interact with it as they will do with another stranger they may like to talk on that platform, it is because of this I think it is a good idea to have two different accounts, one for socializing and one for doing activities related to this market, as in that way it is easier to detect the scam.

Innocent and greedy people are mostly their target victims. I'd see this happening also in my country and a lot of people invest wrongly in a person so-called middleman. I always see a lot of post on social media that offers an investment table where you can earn as much as 30% monthly of your investment. A profit like that is too big and very suspicious since they also say that the source of money comes from crypto trading. Cryptocurrencies are very volatole that it's difficult to make profit from it consistently. Investors that are not well educated yet about crypto are easily blinded because the promoters use the historical increase of bitcoin.

Never ever make yourself believe into those easy money or easy profits because it doesnt really work on that way.There's no way that you could make money on the easy way.

Anyone who do promises out on having these things then better avoid or ignore.You would definitely get scammed or would be completely be fooled and if you do make yourself believe just because you are greedy

Community structure doesn't matter if you are investing in an old project however, if you are going to invest in a new project then It is not enough to just look at the community. Rather you have to pay attention to many things. As What problem they gonna solve, Team info, tokenomics, partnerships, etc.
