Nobody wishes to be scammed, nobody throws himself to scam and it is not totally easy to avoid scam when you don't know who the scammer is , what form they are coming with and how smart they are. Scammers are becoming smarter by days and they are dynamic. They keep inventing new strategies even faster than you can imagine.

It is pertinent that we begin to understand the general nature of scam, know the basics of identifying a scam at our finger tips. Only when you know the basis that you will recognise them easily. No matter how smart they may be, they posses similar characters.
scammers have all sorts of new methods they are constantly developing. This is also supported by increasingly sophisticated technology. We as internet users also need to be aware of these new methods. should be more updated than scammers. If we are not careful, we can also become victims. Since covid and the implementation of WFH, cases of fraud have increased because everyone has started accessing the internet and doing all activities on the internet.
understanding the general nature of fraud as you say is a must, because we will become targets if we are not ready with any knowledge. Identifying and knowing what the scammer's methods are will help us to beat the scam.

According to cybersource data, the rate of fraud using phishing methods will increase in 2022.

Top Fraud Attacks Remain Consistent

I agree that never click on unknown links unless you are sure they are safe. Make sure to pay attention to the spelling of the website, as well as their URL as this can reveal whether it is a phishing site or not.

Be careful how much personal information you share on social networking sites. Always use 2FA whether it's for email, withdrawing savings on the official crypto site where you trade, or buying tokens.

Fraudsters can use your identifying information according to your ID card and image to create a fake identity or target you with further scams.

They are getting smart now, not only they used links to trick us but also they use some clickable apps that will direct us to their controlled site.
Now as technology is growing we can't assure about the safety of our funds online and the more we have to be cautious dealing with applications installed. As posted above, we can really see the huge growth of scamming events, and the more it worries me that it will probably double or even more in the future. And might this 2FA can't handle anymore.

it is indeed difficult to anticipate phishing, if 2FA can still be penetrated, then we must also be careful with our wallet. Therefore, the assets we have should be broken into several wallets, so that if something bad happens, not all the assets we have will be destroyed. Of course they will continue to develop ways to hack, and we know binance is not immune to hacking, so anticipating is better

The truth is that since scammers have so much resources and techniques available to them we must simply assume that our coins are never really safe despite our best efforts, so it is important to always be on alert and protect our coins to the best of our ability, we can improve the security of our coins by an important margin by buying a hardware wallet, since they are very secure devices and they are relatively cheap, instead of risking storing our coins in our computers or at an exchange.

Storing your asset in a hardware wallet is a safe bet, to secure yourself all you need to do is to avoid interacting with strangers pinging in your social media, telegram or discord which ever you are using to communicate with the cryptocurrency community and then following their lead and clicking on the links they provide. If you can avoid that, no one is going to hack your wallets or fool you into moving your coins claiming exorbitant returns Grin.

Strangers that would give you suspicious links, they're the obvious scammers/hackers that attempting to phish you.
Just don't interact with them and if you're annoyed with them, block them as soon as they message you. You may play if you want to with them but don't waste your time dealing with them.
I've been using a hardware wallet for years and it's really a recommended thing to have for those investors that have seen that they'll be staying in crypto for long.

... Reason been that as more people get involved in the crypto business the more scammers are likely to increase their technique and the more scammers get recruited. Staying off scammers path will require been well informed of their every new technique the can ever deploy against their potential victim...

As a rule, a lot of fraud that we encounter in the crypto industry is introduced from real life. The power of attorney and inattention of newcomers is what allows scammers to easily get your money. And do not forget that it is greed that pushes people to use questionable schemes contrary to common sense.

no need to deal with such accounts on telegram. it will waste your time. just block users or report scams.
I also experienced what you shared. all I do is block accounts like that. what they say will not benefit us.

currently, scammers to watch out for also from the emails we receive. sometimes the email will automatically separate to spam. but sometimes they get away when using private email.

for sure, the scammer will never disappear or diminish. they will always look for loopholes for them to get victims.

Read whitepaper and research well of company where you are going to invest because many scams are done by this method. Check whether it is genuine or fake..
that's the basic rules.. In addition for me it will always good to know how to make technical and fundamental analysis so that you can get specific information what is the situation of the projects you want to invest.. Many projects delivering a good testament but they always ended into a scam , so we need to be smart enough before investing or whatsoever.

It is important to have a lot of preparation before investing or trading,
crypto is a big risk so when we don't have the knowledge and skills then the chance of losing is certainly big,
learn technical and fundamental analysis is also important

Common sense and critical thinking is always needed by people because if they just go with the flow without even thinking the risk they are going for then they will be on risk to lose their money. Researching is very helpful and being resourceful to get more ideas about the project you want to invest in is good or rather can give us profit. Also the one we need to think about always on crypto is not to be greedy and always take your profit.

That's why we have to be rational when we look at the market, is it good or not? and if you are still in doubt, it's better not to invest in the coin you want, it will make you regret it if you later get a loss. Better to focus on what is in the meantime. No need to hurry.

True, it is possible to secure your coins by installing a wallet on your computer or smartphone, but this is difficult as you need to have installed a relatively secure OS, then you need to download a wallet, verify, install it, create your wallet and keep your seed words secure, and if we are honest not many people can do all of those steps without making a mistake along the way which will eventually expose them to being hacked, so a hardware wallet seems like a good option to secure our coins and simplify the process to do so.

More awareness is required among the common people. I personally know people around my locality investing into cryptocurrency. I even made a thread to get a clear understanding about a project Bittron - Anybody heard about it?.

There are people who roam around as business developers are trapping the common people with high return statements. The people also doesn't have any understanding and just invest and end up losing.

Never ever believe someone that will offer you an investment scheme that promises a huge return because those are definitely a scam. This is one of the common reasons why newbies get scammed. Scammers use crypto as the front to attract them, they use the historical growth of it to easily deceive newbies. They're quick to believe that investing into cryptocurrencies can make them rich in just a short amount of time.
It is wired because if you tell people not to do it, they would say "I am not an idiot, of course I won't believe in it", but if you keep any ponzi scheme long enough, there are tens of thousands of people who would believe in it. I have seen one with over a million people once, think about how long that has gone.

I mean it is obvious that when you have that many entries, you are going to pay people back each month, but these people kept it going for 2 years, so they paid some people multiple times what they invested, just to get a lot more people and make it look good. At that point people do fall in the trap of ponzis because they made it look legit.

What will you like to add  to this?

Never ever believe someone that will offer you an investment scheme that promises a huge return because those are definitely a scam. This is one of the common reasons why newbies get scammed. Scammers use crypto as the front to attract them, they use the historical growth of it to easily deceive newbies. They're quick to believe that investing into cryptocurrencies can make them rich in just a short amount of time.

Although almost everyone knows that investments that promise large profits in a short time are suspicious things and should be avoided.
But the fact is that there are always a lot of people who lose money because they are victims of ponzi schemes, it's because sometimes people's
financial conditions are bad, makes a person unable to think clearly and can be easily deceived. Therefore it is very important in making any decisions
do not rush, much better every tempting offer we have to ask the opinion of those closest to us to be a filter to remind us.

Sometimes fraudsters are getting smarter with ponzi schemes, they will make what they offer look legit. So a very high level of caution is needed
right now, just like when we are going to participate in bounty campaigns, although we are careful by choosing bounties handled by trusted managers
and carefully checking the bounties we will participate in. We will definitely be tricked into promoting scam projects, because fraudsters are now
studying their victims well. So maybe what we can do is minimize the risk, and always learn from the bad things that happen to us.

As long as they are not tempted when they see news that says this coin will increase shortly, they can look and look for other coins that have more potential in the short, medium, and long term. But if they can't focus, they will miss the best moment to invest in the right coin and the opportunity to make a profit later. We must realize this so that we can get the right coins to invest so that we can also overcome the risks that may arise later.

scammers are certainly looking for many ways to trick their victims, they will continue to innovate to convince people with all their evil ideas.  chat via telegram is not a strange thing, maybe this is the easiest way for stupid cheaters because it is only tricked in a simple way but people will not be easily influenced by his sweet invitation.  we just need to report and block immediately when suddenly there is a DM from an unknown stranger
Very often you find DMs on Telegram inviting you to invest or rewarding thousands of dollars for just following their advice. Scammers continue to innovate in making traps so that their targeted victims can easily enter the trap. We as crypto activists must also be smarter and more aware of the modes used by scammers. No one will give money for free with an unreasonable amount. do not easily trust strangers on the internet, they are only after our assets.
