Title: I want to advertise on Bitcointalk forums
Post by: TheWolf666 on October 19, 2022, 01:23:52 AM
Hi guys,

Where is the page where I can contact the ones responsible about having a rotating add on bitcointalk forums?

We have a crypto project https://metaisland.gg and would like to have an alt coin add rotating.

We need to know the conditions and prices.

Please contact me in pv, or just give me the link to where I can contact the marketing staff at Bitcointalk

Thanks!

Not quite sure what do you mean about rotating add, but the forum ads has been suspended a while ago, so your next choice is conducting a bounty campaign (since it's altcoins). But bounties marketing aren't work these days due to poor quality, you're better to launch a signature campaign with Bitcoin payment so you could have a chance to get higher quality members especially the payout is higher than the rest campaign and long term purpose.

You can contact a campaign manager on this thread [LIST.] Campaign Management Services (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5266629.0)

Hi guys,

Where is the page where I can contact the ones responsible about having a rotating add on bitcointalk forums?

I guess what you are trying to say is "ads" and not "add",  but the link given above by @DireWolfM14 explains it all, because from the link, I was able to capture a statement given as below,

"In addition to the inhouse forum ads, it is common for forum users to sell ad space in their signatures. These ads are not intermediated by bitcointalk.org in any way. If you are interested in advertising in this way, it is recommended that you hire a signature manager."

But, if you happen to be new into signature campaign, here is a brief explanation. Signature Campaign is a kind of campaign just like ads, whereby members of the forum are hired to promote a given project by means of post count and been paid a given $ rate either weekly or monthly.

But for a signature campaign to be successful, 3 things are involved.
1. You have a hire a signature designer who will design a very good looking signature for your company
2.  Hire a manager who will manage your signature campaign project.
3. Hire a specific forum members base on rank to help promote your project on the forum

And you can get a good Signature designer and Manager both on the  "Service" (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0) board of the forum

Example of reputable Signature manager that you can hire are:
1. Hhampuz
2. CryptopreneurBrainboss
3. Icopress
4. Gianluca95

I can not stop thinking.
You joined in 2017, a full member with 147 merits so far but you still do not know the forum does not have a marketing team/staff. Obviously you can check out the members who offer campaign management service.

May I know, how many posts you made so for since you have started to visit the forum?

According to THIS (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5407725.msg60976136#msg60976136)  post written last month, I think that theymos recently announced some changes in this ad campaigns and auctions, and it would be even harder to get something going for altcoins and projects like this.
You can still talk with individual campaign managers, hire them to start new signature campaign, with signatures and avatars for members to wear.

it is quite possible. you have a lot of forum members who do not leave certain sections, for example, gambling, and altcoin... and they do not know what is happening in the meta and other sections, because they are not interested in it.
as far as I can see on his website, he is a gamer/developer and it is clear to me that he is not interested in finding alt accounts on the forum.
in the end, if you look at some discussions and certain boards like a reputation, for example, you will see that a limited number of members come there and comment.

in the meantime, dkbit98 write what I want to say to OP.

It is now left for you to go by what Despairo and CryptoHeadlineNews have suggested for you.

There is no place in the forum that has an open slot for rotating ads. If it has, it will only be for Btt display logo not for any other crypto projects ads. In other to that, that's why there are provisions to launch your project on the forum to get it promoted by members of the forum.

You can launch your project if you want to. There are bounty admins who can help to do that(already mentioned to you)

there is many ways to advertise here on bitcointalk you should first know your budget for the advertisement, first you have the official auction from bitcointalk which is closed for now but you can wait for an announcement https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adinfo (https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adinfo)
then you have bounty campaigns and signature campaigns which are a type of advertising using bitcointalk users with a manager to run that campaign for you. your project is a metaverse play to earn game with tokens so you should find a manager for your campaign and post it on altcoins bounties

I have several people contacting me in TG about it.

A few days ago I caught a member whose account was also created in 2017 in the most common plagiarism - so I'm not surprised that the OP is asking about some things he should know by now. He is also not familiar with the forum rules (multiple posts in a row), so it is easy to conclude that he is not someone who pays attention to details.

However, one positive thing is that he asked the question on the right board ;)

Little bird talking. I am doing crypto since 2017 and i have done several projects.

However I am on a good project that should be interesting investors and we are ready to do some advertising here, if you guys are interested to make some money.

If someone serious can contact me in our TG, that's the best place to talk about advertising. Our marketing managers are not in Bitcointalk.

https://t.me/metaisland_gg

Our guys will redirect you to me or other staff in charge of marketing.

We want to include Bitcointalk in our marketing plan, only that. Being insulted here, is not in our plan.

I will of course answer to PV messages

I am happy for you to have +4000 merit points. Have you something to say that can help this thread or you are just here for trolling. You could for example give me 100 of these merit points that are surely sitting unused in your profile !!!

Usually for signature campaigns, at least a 4-figures budget in US dollars is the average. You have the liberty of assigning several slots per member rank, and their weekly rates, just don't forget the campaign manager charges a management fee as well (weekly/ monthly basis).

Taking an example of Duelbits (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5280190.0), we're talking above 4K. However take note that casinos are the majority of the advertisers and with their revenue stream, they are willing to pay top dollar as long as they gain new customers.

As said, there's no longer marketing "of the forum" (with some small differences that don't matter to you).
If you want to advertise a project, the route should be to find a campaign manager (and maybe an escrow too for the funds for the first few weeks, but the campaign manager can do that too) that will "hire" a number of users to advertise what you need in their signature space and/or avatar. Campaign managers: you can discuss with icopress (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1137579) or find lists like this one (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5266629.0) and see which one of them can help you. And you will need a designer for the signatures and/or avatars, but the campaign manager will advise you in that if needed.

Begging is not allowed on this forum, as well as posting multiple posts in a row, but instead of reading what I wrote, you want to appear smart and accuse someone of trolling? Once again, I advise you to read the forum rules before writing something stupid again...

7. No begging.
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

What kind of budget are you thinking? I have no idea.

I think that the minimum limits is $500/week, which is represented in the following (paying 50 dollars to 10 Hero/Legendary members), and then appointing a manager will increase the expenses, but it will give better results.

You can run it for one month or two then decide if you want to continues or not (so 2K-4K.)

Generally $80 per member and 20 members i.e. $1600/week will give good results if you hire a smart manager.

Hello Op good day,
Like what other said above its better to choose to launch a signature campaign than running some bounties. Which is in the signature campaign you can hire some user here In forum who can advertise or promote your project here. Like what other casino did because as you can see that there are many gamblers here in forum so without doubt  many will try your services.

Thanks for the info, very useful. I will think about it. It sounds expensive thought. Maybe it is giving result for Casino, since they have limited options (no google or any other regular ads). But for my project, I am not sure anymore.

No worries, it's better to know beforehand since it could be a costly mistake should you advertise only to find out later.

Based on my observation, casinos have mainly been the prime choice because there are plenty of players and high rollers here, hence the competition. However not all brands could or would sustain after a few weeks.

If you're looking for a more affordable choice, there is the Bounty (Altcoin) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0) board which you could pay in altcoins or tokens but generally the qualities of postings are much lower unless you are totally fine with the quantity > quality, as that subforum is basically for those that either are ineligible for signature campaigns or are simply there for simple tasks.

One more way is to find some popular or well-known members' avatars and/ or signature spaces for rental. Those are in the Services (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0) board.

If this is the project you are working on at the moment (Metaisland (https://metaisland.gg/)), no surprise that marketing is not having much effect as we are in the middle of bear market and I think that no matter what you do or how much money you pour in, results won't be good. Even if you have top product with an experienced team, its gonna be tough and I am sure that you already know that.

Looking at your ANN thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5399111.msg60160804#msg60160804), I see some suspicious activity by 2 low ranking members that are talking to each other. Did anyone offer you so called "thread bumping" service where bunch of low level accounts write in your topic, giving impression that there's real interest? If yes, just tell them no as its completely useless and a total waste of money.

Generally $80 per member and 20 members i.e. $1600/week will give good results if you hire a smart manager.
I don't think that amount of money will attract quality members, given the current situation where there's more spots in campaigns than there are quality members available.

I came here because I know this forum for a long time.
I don't know how it was around here before 2019, but imho this is not the place (at least not now) where you wanna advertise any sort of altcoin project and even if you go with signature campaign, don't expect much. Thing is, majority of people here are bitcoiners that don't care much about anything altcoin/NFT/Metaverse related or anything else popular at the moment. Don't get me wrong, signature campaigns can be good and effective way to promote your business around here but only if there's a lot of your target audience which I don't think is the case.

Even though you've hired a smart manager, if there's no high quality posters at the moment since they've joined the long term and high payout campaign, the manager only can get the best of low quality posters.

Many possible reasons for this. One that comes to my mind instantly is that it is a bought account. They buy for different purposes and unintentionally do these mistakes. Some get caught finally like the one you noticed.

Thank you, things are changing fast. In 2017 Bitcointalk was very different, more simple. I will continue to update my ANN thread as we have news and we kinda forgot this forum.
My friend Hatu (co-founder of Daomaker) suggested to have a rotating ad at Bitcointalk, but I think that, like me he is not updated about new rules here.
Thanks anyway for all these information. Doing marketing for Crypto project is a complex task, lot of ways to waste money and bump our socials with fake accounts. But these are not real leads that will buy our NFT for example.

When I was working on my Kryptofranc project, I have created a page about 'how to make an alt coin from bitcoin core'. I still have people asking me questions about it.
So Bitcointalk is still the reference for info about Bitcoin source code. Even if every project is keeping their recipe now.

There are values always or people would not spend money on marketing. Talking about waste of money is not only for crypto projects but any sorts of project. On Facebook marketers spend billions depending on their budget. Results depend on how well you know a platform to leverage from it.

If a project is thinking bounty hunters will be the investors of their project then they got wrong idea. The entire bounty hunting thing is a completely win ICO/NFT for owners and the hunters are taking all risks. When you spend zero money, you do not expect everything perfect. A professional team is not going to work free for you. It used to be good back in 2017-2018. At least at that time they used to get value for the coin they received. Now it's almost a dead economy. If anything left in the bounty economy then it's for the owners.

One that comes to my mind instantly is that it is a bought account.
Buying account is not prohibited at all. But unfortunately most of the time bought accounts involve themselves with shady projects to scam others because they do not have anything to lose.

Not quite sure what do you mean about rotating add, but the forum ads has been suspended a while ago,
The OP through this thread reminded me of an ad I planned to run on this forum in no distant future...
But it's rather unfortunate to learn (right now) that the forum's service have been suspended, honestly, am an active poster here but didn't know this.

And I agree with you that a good alternative is to run a signature campaign which payment is in bitcoin, but like we all have already seen on the forum, altcoin projects will hardly want to pay their campaigners in bitcoin since altcoin in question might not be convertible to Bitcoin yet and they actually need the bitcoin to keep building the project... It is only a big altcoin project that is already established that would consider running a Bitcoin paying signature campaign, as disappointing as it is, it is the truth.

Hi guys,

Where is the page where I can contact the ones responsible about having a rotating add on bitcointalk forums?

Example of reputable Signature manager that you can hire are:
1. Hhampuz
2. CryptopreneurBrainboss
3. Icopress
4. Gianluca95

OP these are some of the good managers that can market your project for you well. Also please on your part don't disappoint them if you select anyone. I will also recommend yahoo62278 and Royse777 even though Bitlucy came to the forum and spoiled his reputation, I still believe in him he is a good manager.

But your rotating ads is the part confusing me, is it the name of the project?

Royse777 even though Bitlucy came to the forum and spoiled his reputation, I still believe in him he is a good manager.
Thanks bud for the endorsement. I thought everyone forgot about me LOL

Thanks anyway for all these information. Doing marketing for Crypto project is a complex task, lot of ways to waste money and bump our socials with fake accounts. But these are not real leads that will buy our NFT for example.
Building a brand takes time. There are many successful projects who launched on bitcointalk and now they are one of the leaders in their own industry.
Consider Chipmixer. Their weekly budget is 55*$300 which means $16,500 per week.
To build the brand they have been promoting their product since March 2017.

Another example is BestChange. We all know how hard it was for them to even launch their signature campaign. People were tearing them apart just because BestChange team refused to agree with them on escrowing the campaign fund. But today they are one of the best in their own industry because of consistency to build their brand.

We have example of many casino and sportsbooks too. Sportsbet.io, Stake, Fortunejack and many others are constantly spending money on their advertising for years to build their brand. Today all of them are market leaders.

To conclude, if you have a small budget and want a few weeks advertising but expects massive result in return then it's unrealistic. For a successful project, it requires long term advertising plan to monetize the traffic of a community.

Edit: Adding some more thoughts after a day LOL.

$50/week for Hero/Legendary members are considered a low payout since average of signature campaigns pay around $70 for Hero/Legendary members, moreover the campaign already run at least 30+ weeks.

If the @OP want to get high quality posters, he need to give a guarantee at least 6 months the campaign will run and the payment for Hero/Legendary members is $100+
When designing a signature campaign one of the most important aspects a manager needs to consider is the attention the campaign will receive from the community. There are many factors to consider to make a campaign attractive, it's not just the budget. Number of required posts per week plays a big role along with the duration of a campaign. When manager is asking for 25 posts per week and rewarding $50 for it then it's too much to ask considering the ecosystem but if s/he is asking to make 15 posts to reward $50 per week then it's completely okay. The campaign will find many average participants.

Another scenario could be like this: Manager is paying $100 per week and asking to make 50+ posts. S/he will definitely encourage spammers to spam on the boards. The campaign will fail to attract reputable forum members who have influence on different boards, even though it's paying $100 per week. Having high end members also matters for a brand promotion.

A campaign manager needs to consider the project owners psychology too. Most of the project owners are not aware of the behaviors of the community members. For them it's just another place to advertise their platform. So if a manger thinks a project owner is going to spend $16K+ per week straight way like Chipmixer then it's wrong. It completely make sense that project owners will try to start from an economic budget to check the outcome. But in any case the duration can not be compromised if a project wants to create a positive brand awareness.

A project wants to run a campaign with $5k per week budget but only for 4 weeks? They are going to waste the $20k only for few signups. It's the hard reality. After the four weeks everyone will forget about the brand (maybe they will remember it for few more weeks and that's it). But instead, if they spend $1k or even $750 (tight but still) per week and continue the campaign for 20+ weeks they will receive better response. For long five months, members are going to see the brand in front of them and slowly they will start trusting it. The longer a project continue the better influence it starts to create towards the members of the community. The secret for successful projects those are now leading the industry is their long term plan to build a positive value for their own brands.

Gaming, NFTs, and the Metaverse. Other users have already suggested signature campaigns or altcoin bounty campaigns as possible ways to advertise, so no reason to go over that again.

Let me suggest a different route. This is surely even more expensive, but if the goal is to get people interested, you are going to need as many eyes as possible. How about purchasing an ad spot on a crypto news site that has some reach? Maybe even a guest post (if that's the appropriate term) or a review of what you are developing.

Is it expensive? Sure, it probably is. But if you are confident that you have a quality product that only needs a push and some marketing to get the message out there, why spare the money?
