I just want to say hello. In a hundred+ years they will look back on what "Satoshi" did in absolute awe. We're here now ladies and gentlemen!!!! Just appreciate it!!! We are living through one of the most important times in human history. Bitcoin is a real store of interplanetary value.

A 100 years is so far to think people will look back because people are already looking back to 10 years ago and wishing they gave a shot at Bitcoin when it wasn't upto this.
Even now more people also want to and still wish to join the moving train of a faster growing and evolutionary digital currency Bitcoin but are been held back because of lack of purchasing power(money).
I know of a friend who strongly wish he can sell his land just to buy Bitcoin and I'm certain if he sees a buyer now, 80% of his money is heading straight bto Bitcoin fir long term.

In as much as Bitcoin is a store of value, it ain't limited to that!

Statements and assumptions as quoted are seen by many as the only and real shores of Bitcoin. But no, C'mon OP Bitcoin has all other attributes of the traditional fiat (aside from being centralized) to elevate in years to come.

I am very happy that I am a part of those witnessing the growth, development and spread of bitcoins from a community like this in the front row of bitcoin discussions. In the nearest future when bitcoin has become relevant, it will feel good telling the stories about this time where bitcoins is still just gaining importance and acceptance. The people who stay hold on their bitcoins till after this period will be proud and happy that they did. I want to be among the set of people who never stop believing in bitcoins, so I am trying to buy and keep bitcoins as much as I can.

I don't think that we should wait for a hundred years to appreciate what Satoshi has done or what his invention turns out to be. Of course, we already have appreciate it, as slowly we have seen Bitcoin enthusiast growing in numbers.

Not sure what you meant by interplanetary value, but if you meant the price going to increased in the future and then our investments growing? Yeah, that is possible.

Perhaps when all bitcoin is mined, we will see the true value of Bitcoin in terms of price.

Unfortunately,  appreciation on this technology is more regarding asset 'aspects' of cryptocurrency. People are just making use of the market price volatility, and not its nature as a digital currency. But for sure as progressive development continues, there would be a time in the future wherein Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies would be acknowledged as one of the reliable alternatives to daily transactions. And once that day come? No one know yet if changes would be on this industry's side in general. Regulation might take place and that would increase transaction fees due to possible taxation in the future. But I hope people would still appreciate the beauty of blockchain.

You've gone too far with that. That thing about 100 years from now, well, in this forum surely many of us think the same, but you have taken out of your sleeve a new concept, because in order to have interplanetary value there should be some kind of relationship between planets that today there is not, and it is quite improbable that there will be in only 100 years.

Well the current price condition is worthy enough to categorized as interplanetary value that you are spouting since Bitcoin started from scratch up to the current price. There’s no company or investment platform that record this kind of astronomical growth.

This post of yours should be posted 10 years ago and not for the 100 years in the future because the current price is already discovered. You are assuming as if Bitcoin is still not yet adapted by many 1st world country in the world.

Without these people, I doubt Bitcoin will propagate.  People are interested in profit.  They have all ears when it comes to money.  Do you think people will listen if you explain Bitcoin in technical terms?  I bet they will be bored and probably become sleepy.  But the moment we talk about profit and possible huge profit, people are all ears. This kind of regards about Bitcoin helps Bitcoin a lot in terms of adoption.


I agree, once Bitcoin gathers enough audience and community, the true function of Bitcoin will shine.  Like right now, some country is starting to accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment, many merchants are now accepting Bitcoin and even local stores, because of LN development is able to accept Bitcoin as option of payment without having to wait for long time just to confirm the transaction.

I think there are lots of people who are at this moment in awe of bitcoin and what it entails. I know I am. But I would also say you’re reaching way too far when you say bitcoin is a store of interplanetary value. Perhaps you’ve got some proof of life on somewhere other than the planet Earth?
In a hundred years from today and when the last bitcoin is mined, that is when we would truly know the worth and value of bitcoin. Then again, who knows what would happen in that time. The future is very unpredictable

I won't live until then so I won't be ready for it in 100 years. Instead, I'm in the ready mode because I think we're in the bitcoin revolution and we're wowing the world. With the current development situation, only a few years from now, we will see a massive boom in bitcoin and we should be proud to be a part of this revolution.
By the way, bitcoin can do more than what you say, bitcoin is property, currency, and investment, is a means of transcontinental payment with extremely cheap and fast costs...

You don't need to wait another 100 years, you should prepare now because bitcoin is also gaining attention in the world and only 10-15 years from now, maybe we will see bitcoin being recognized and used in many parts of the world.  But I don't want to treat bitcoin as a store of value or a currency, bitcoin is a highly volatile investment, and only then can we make a profit.

I didn't post for merit! Sorry if it came off that way. I don't really know the value of merit here opposed to actual trusted feedback. Just wanted to share my enthusiasm for posterity and see what other people say  8)

In hundred years, they may still feel they are in the early stage and will feel awe still. A wallet with 500K satoshis today will probably be considered a whale by then. We're too hopeful for it to happen though.

Remember that there is a fight going on right now where governments are fighting against crypto and each of them is releasing CBDC. The fight ain't over til it's over. And history will tell who wins this fight.

Very soon the world will realize that the technology is deeper and more relevant than they perceived. People think it's just about the currency but the block chain technology can be used to eliminate rigging of election, improve job opportunity, bring life to Web3 and create a better surface for saving information. Other possibilities and features attached to the technology will change the world, not just it's currency.

What I find most interesting is that in a hundred years, Bitcoin would still be Bitcoin. I cannot say the same for any other digital asset or centralized currency

Bitcoin has almost no attributes of traditional fiat and that is why it is quite popular and people see it as an alternative to fiat.
Aside being centralized, fiat is prone to inflation and is unlimited in supply (more can just be printed).

Even if you intend to, I don't care anyway, lots of members here fish for merit and I think that is a good thing because they are trying to create sensical topics to be worthy of merit.  Besides, it is on the member if they wanted to give you or not no matter how hard you try to fish for one.  Ever seen threads like, I did seminars for my friends, accept Bitcoin in my store, etc... that are posted on Bitcoin discussion...  those threads are actually fishing for merit IMO.  But then we give them anyway because they did an extra activity to be worthy of those merits.

I wonder when was the time when posting to earn merit became an issue in this forum?

Back to the topic...  If Bitcoin become successful and made the government adopts Bitcoin as a legal tender or a mode of payment  I agree that this time would be written in history and this forum will be recorded as the one that plays a huge part in the foundation and propagation of Bitcoin.


It doesn't hurt to look far ahead, people with great vision look way ahead than normal people do.  Just like how Satoshi envisions Bitcoin in upcoming years.

Yes bitcoin would have been globally arooted as legal tender across the world by then, people would have been forced to make a public declaration of what they want after which they couldn't have keep on the silence anymore, Satoshi has made it visible and accessible for all to makebuse of bitcoin being a decentralized currency and no government or entity can regulate the entire network of p2p by any chance.

What do you mean? everyone has appreciate what Satoshi and Bitcoin did to us, we've heard a lot of good stories about individuals becoming financial stable because of Bitcoin. Specially those early investors who believed and stayed all throughout the first 10 years or so.

Which means we also need to stay in the market for many years, but obviously not everyone will be here in the next 100+ years.

I really do not get your topic. Your message or post somehow does not align with your topic. If I may ask what were your trying to insinuate?  Going by your topic, one would think otherwise but reading your content, one would see another. I think you should rephrase your topic a bit to suit your content that would be nice. Back to you content, Bitcoin as we all know is a strong store of value and has kept up with that standard for years since it's inception. I believe this is the  innovation/adopter stage so therefore there are still lots to come. For the now, this is just the top merriment one can derive as a result of the innovation called Bitcoin. There are still inovations yet to be developed and technology yet to be built. But one thing I know for sure is that Bitcoin would stand the test of time.

There's so much hope in this thread.
I hope that Bitcoin is here in the next 100 years and this forum survives that long and that someone will read these messages and think of them as relics of times that passed.

Just like we all hope that we knew about bitcoin in 2010 when you could get 1 BTC a day from a faucet, some people will hope they were here in 2022 and knew there was such a revolutionary payment system.

I've been in vesting all the way through 2022 and I'm ready to hold for at least 2 years. Let's see how it goes.

It is not my intention to spoil your enthusiasm about Bitcoin, the technology and economics behind it.
But we are not supposed to get crazy and assume aliens will use Bitcoin as currency or that in 100 years we will colonize planets. I believe one of the best positions to have about Bitcoin and altcoins is pragmatism.

Yes, we are witnessing and living historical times that will likely be studied in the future, however, we live in the present.

If you feel like getting your enthusiasm a good use, I'd suggest you to write a book for the future generations about your personal experience with Bitcoin, so they will have more material to reach their on conclusions. (Assuming humanity has not self-destruct by then, that is)

when the price of bitcoin is cheap, rarely are people interested in buying bitcoin, many even underestimate it. but when the bitcoin price rose, then many people were amazed at bitcoin.
but actually we will not know bitcoin for the future let alone for the next 100 years. because 100 years is a long time. now also humans rarely live 100 years. and those who will see the price of bitcoin in the next 100 years are our children or grandchildren. but I hope that bitcoin for the next 100 years will increase in price.

for me there is no need to wait 100 years to admire and appreciate what satoshi has done. because from the first time I got to know crypto (bitcoin) I started to be amazed and the longer I got to know bitcoin I became very appreciative of what satoshi had done in the past.

I am also not sure if I will still be alive in the next 100 years but maybe my children and grandchildren will be the new generation who continue to admire and appreciate what Satoshi has created.
maybe I have a few bitcoins right now but I'm pretty sure if in 30 years I give them to my grandson, maybe they will be even bigger.

I like your inspiration. Especially when prices are not what everyone would like, the market is in decline, but there are those among us who passionately believe in the value of bitcoin. We need more of these people. It often happens that all great discoveries become necessary after many years. Today we are building history; maybe our grandchildren will be interested, or maybe they will have something more perfect. Only time can tell about this.

It doesn't take a hundred years to see what has happened to bitcoin. If you check the journey of bitcoin, it has made many people realize what bitcoin is for them and now too many people have started investing and trading bitcoin to make a profit. We can make bitcoin a valuable inheritance for future generations so that they can use it like us and also have a better life than us. We are preparing for a better life by investing in bitcoin. So follow the bitcoin journey from time to time and enjoy the benefits you get from bitcoin.

Perhaps, it was another great opportunity that we have discovered and many people give interest and make their lives better than before. It was encouraging to see a growing number of people who know Bitcoin and establishments who are accepting this new technology as well. Yes, it was good to be inherited by the next generation but we still do not solely consider this as a source of income as it was still best to spread our money and create multiple sources of income. We can be happy now because it gives us profit but we're not sure about the future 100 years from now.

Seeing as that bear cycles generally last longer than 2 years, why only wait until then? And what if cycle's invalidated and we see a new ATH next year? Will you hold in the year after that when it all comes down again?

2 years isn't long-term if you think about it. That's probably the bare minimum for a fund deposit in a regular bank, and considered short-term ;)

i like to think of bitcoin as the "Pandora's box" concept.i doesn't matter what they try to do,even if they try to ban it,it can never be "closed" again,its technologies,it just bring too much potential and too much offspring from it,it's here to stay.

You don't have to wait another 100 years because it already happened. Bitcoin is capturing the world's attention and is wowing the world with what it has achieved in just 13 years of existence. If you compare bitcoin to gold, this is the craziest development we have ever seen. Be proud that we are pioneers of the bitcoin revolution, the revolution that will change the world.

I don't see any evidence today that Bitcoin is the most important thing ever, that it is going to change the world and shape human history. What we have now is that after over 10 years Bitcoin is still almost never used for payments, its volatility makes it a risky investment rather than a store of value, it doesn't react to inflation and economic uncertainty like bitcoiners have hoped it would.

It's important to keep your head cool and analyze the facts, instead of just believing in the future.

I don't understand what you mean about Bitcoin been as Pandora's box because it has other means which are not in line with BTC's true potential.
Yes, BTC hard a vast utility and use case, and the reason why it was unable to be banned by the government are because of its solid fundamental concept.

100 years from now is a very long time, and I doubt if anybody on this forum currently will still be alive by then, but the good news is that we all are making a history, a history our children will look back upon and indeed appreciate.
Satoshi started a movement in bitcoin, bitcoin is still very much underrated, a time is coming when the entire world will embrace bitcoin, what we are seeing now in some countries accepting bitcoin as legal tender is just a scratch on the surface, the real deal is coming and indeed, I agree that we should be ready.

Bitcoin is moving over 200k times every day. You're trying to tell us that not even 10% of it are real transactions, only people sending money from one of their wallets to the other, paying fees every time?

The facts are that bitcoin presents a different value to you depending on where you stand. It's going to present different opportunities to someone in Venezuela than it does to someone in the UK. While to you it may not be an inflation hedge because it's down against USD, someone in Turkey will see it as a hedge and someone in another country as a way to move money through the border without being robbed in the process.

And we're part of it.
Just enjoy the ride and I still see people making fun of bitcoin as if it's comparable to the stocks and they're liking more stocks. But looking at their gains, they're all peanuts and incomparable to what bitcoin has achieved. Yeah, this is one of the greatest invention and wealth transfer in the entire history of the world.

Those who made fun of Bitcoin will be missing out.  They will only realize it when it is too late for them to get in and enjoy the benefits early supporters had enjoyed. Though sometimes it made me think that people are FUD'ing Bitcoin because they wanted the price to crash and make them accumulate at a cheaper price.  If they don't have any hidden motive, why engage with Bitcoin arguments if they don't want to buy Bitcoin at all?

I am glad we are part of these revolutionary changes happening in the current financial system.  When all things settled down and Bitcoin is triumphant, if we are still alive by that time, we can tell tales about the financial changes that happen during the early stage of BTC and be proud that we are part of these changes.

It is for sure that they will. When bitcoin was $1k, they said that it was expensive and made fun of it, it reaches $10k, $20k, and so on. Still, they've never changed.
I guess it's in their veins that they're on the stocks only and aren't willing to take a risk and they've been telling about their standards that bitcoin isn't like company stock. Well, it's true but they have to look at some basic technical things about it and how its value is being produced because they've been telling that there's no value for bitcoin.

It might also we're a part of the history since we're here in the forum which is the origin forum of Bitcoin and we're a part of the history.
Regret might be what they will feel when they look back on what satoshi did when the Bitcoin price will triple compared to a past all-time high.  Most likely people did store the value of Bitcoin and when everyone does the same, for sure the demand and supply will take effect.

100 years is a long time and it is impossible to hope for anything, just look at the rate at which technology develops today. If it wants to survive then I think bitcoin and the forum need to improve otherwise being replaced is inevitable. Looking at fiat money and banks, they're threatened by bitcoin because they're not improving.

If bitcoin is still around in 100 years, we won't know whether bitcoin's price has gone up so much higher than its current price or not. because if you look at the current world economy, I don't think it has recovered yet, so we won't know in the future. but if my prediction is bitcoin in the future, my prediction is that the price of bitcoin in the future will definitely be higher than the current price. and if there are still bitcoins in the future, especially if the price is higher than now. surely many people will be amazed at satoshi.

one hundred years from now, surely bitcoin will be a very great history.
maybe at that time bitcoin still existed and was growing, hopefully bitcoin will always survive and continue to improve its quality.

everyone who knows and adopts their bitcoin is very lucky, because those who know bitcoin from the beginning it was launched until now, in my opinion those people are very lucky.

Giving bitcoins to the next generation and telling them to continue what we've been doing can give them the opportunity to change their lives for the better. We also have to teach them what we can so that they are not wrong in making decisions and can adapt themselves to market conditions. We will be happy if we see that our descendants can use it better than us and can even develop it for their lives and their descendants later so that what we pass on to them can be very useful. They will remember us as people who tried hard to change our lives for the good and have us as their role models.

Actually the next generation will forget our hard work because they're already rich and can life freely since they've not have experience become poor. New generation get spoiled by their parents, so they wouldn't think to find a way to make money, all they do is use that's money until it's gone. After it's gone, they will become criminal since they wouldn't want to work or start from scratch, so that's why it's really important to teach the kids like in poor condition.
