A 100 years is so far to think people will look back because people are already looking back to 10 years ago and wishing they gave a shot at Bitcoin when it wasn't upto this.
Even now more people also want to and still wish to join the moving train of a faster growing and evolutionary digital currency Bitcoin but are been held back because of lack of purchasing power(money).
I know of a friend who strongly wish he can sell his land just to buy Bitcoin and I'm certain if he sees a buyer now, 80% of his money is heading straight bto Bitcoin fir long term.

I don't think that we should wait for a hundred years to appreciate what Satoshi has done or what his invention turns out to be. Of course, we already have appreciate it, as slowly we have seen Bitcoin enthusiast growing in numbers.

Not sure what you meant by interplanetary value, but if you meant the price going to increased in the future and then our investments growing? Yeah, that is possible.

Perhaps when all bitcoin is mined, we will see the true value of Bitcoin in terms of price.

Unfortunately,  appreciation on this technology is more regarding asset 'aspects' of cryptocurrency. People are just making use of the market price volatility, and not its nature as a digital currency. But for sure as progressive development continues, there would be a time in the future wherein Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies would be acknowledged as one of the reliable alternatives to daily transactions. And once that day come? No one know yet if changes would be on this industry's side in general. Regulation might take place and that would increase transaction fees due to possible taxation in the future. But I hope people would still appreciate the beauty of blockchain.

That thing about 100 years from now, well, in this forum surely many of us think the same, but you have taken out of your sleeve a new concept, because in order to have interplanetary value there should be some kind of relationship between planets that today there is not, and it is quite improbable that there will be in only 100 years.

Well the current price condition is worthy enough to categorized as interplanetary value that you are spouting since Bitcoin started from scratch up to the current price. There’s no company or investment platform that record this kind of astronomical growth.

This post of yours should be posted 10 years ago and not for the 100 years in the future because the current price is already discovered. You are assuming as if Bitcoin is still not yet adapted by many 1st world country in the world.

Without these people, I doubt Bitcoin will propagate.  People are interested in profit.  They have all ears when it comes to money.  Do you think people will listen if you explain Bitcoin in technical terms?  I bet they will be bored and probably become sleepy.  But the moment we talk about profit and possible huge profit, people are all ears. This kind of regards about Bitcoin helps Bitcoin a lot in terms of adoption.

I agree, once Bitcoin gathers enough audience and community, the true function of Bitcoin will shine.  Like right now, some country is starting to accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment, many merchants are now accepting Bitcoin and even local stores, because of LN development is able to accept Bitcoin as option of payment without having to wait for long time just to confirm the transaction.

I won't live until then so I won't be ready for it in 100 years. Instead, I'm in the ready mode because I think we're in the bitcoin revolution and we're wowing the world. With the current development situation, only a few years from now, we will see a massive boom in bitcoin and we should be proud to be a part of this revolution.
By the way, bitcoin can do more than what you say, bitcoin is property, currency, and investment, is a means of transcontinental payment with extremely cheap and fast costs...

You don't need to wait another 100 years, you should prepare now because bitcoin is also gaining attention in the world and only 10-15 years from now, maybe we will see bitcoin being recognized and used in many parts of the world.  But I don't want to treat bitcoin as a store of value or a currency, bitcoin is a highly volatile investment, and only then can we make a profit.

In hundred years, they may still feel they are in the early stage and will feel awe still. A wallet with 500K satoshis today will probably be considered a whale by then. We're too hopeful for it to happen though.

Remember that there is a fight going on right now where governments are fighting against crypto and each of them is releasing CBDC. The fight ain't over til it's over. And history will tell who wins this fight.

Very soon the world will realize that the technology is deeper and more relevant than they perceived. People think it's just about the currency but the block chain technology can be used to eliminate rigging of election, improve job opportunity, bring life to Web3 and create a better surface for saving information. Other possibilities and features attached to the technology will change the world, not just it's currency.

What I find most interesting is that in a hundred years, Bitcoin would still be Bitcoin. I cannot say the same for any other digital asset or centralized currency

But no, C'mon OP Bitcoin has all other attributes of the traditional fiat (aside from being centralized) to elevate in years to come.

Bitcoin has almost no attributes of traditional fiat and that is why it is quite popular and people see it as an alternative to fiat.
Aside being centralized, fiat is prone to inflation and is unlimited in supply (more can just be printed).

Even if you intend to, I don't care anyway, lots of members here fish for merit and I think that is a good thing because they are trying to create sensical topics to be worthy of merit.  Besides, it is on the member if they wanted to give you or not no matter how hard you try to fish for one.  Ever seen threads like, I did seminars for my friends, accept Bitcoin in my store, etc... that are posted on Bitcoin discussion...  those threads are actually fishing for merit IMO.  But then we give them anyway because they did an extra activity to be worthy of those merits.

I wonder when was the time when posting to earn merit became an issue in this forum?


Back to the topic...  If Bitcoin become successful and made the government adopts Bitcoin as a legal tender or a mode of payment  I agree that this time would be written in history and this forum will be recorded as the one that plays a huge part in the foundation and propagation of Bitcoin.

Yes bitcoin would have been globally arooted as legal tender across the world by then, people would have been forced to make a public declaration of what they want after which they couldn't have keep on the silence anymore, Satoshi has made it visible and accessible for all to makebuse of bitcoin being a decentralized currency and no government or entity can regulate the entire network of p2p by any chance.

What do you mean? everyone has appreciate what Satoshi and Bitcoin did to us, we've heard a lot of good stories about individuals becoming financial stable because of Bitcoin. Specially those early investors who believed and stayed all throughout the first 10 years or so.

Which means we also need to stay in the market for many years, but obviously not everyone will be here in the next 100+ years.

I really do not get your topic. Your message or post somehow does not align with your topic. If I may ask what were your trying to insinuate?  Going by your topic, one would think otherwise but reading your content, one would see another. I think you should rephrase your topic a bit to suit your content that would be nice. Back to you content, Bitcoin as we all know is a strong store of value and has kept up with that standard for years since it's inception. I believe this is the  innovation/adopter stage so therefore there are still lots to come. For the now, this is just the top merriment one can derive as a result of the innovation called Bitcoin. There are still inovations yet to be developed and technology yet to be built. But one thing I know for sure is that Bitcoin would stand the test of time.
