Title: What would you do if you get a time machine now?
Post by: tjtonmoy on December 31, 2022, 06:41:41 PM
Ironic question right? Well, as a crypto lover/ investor or whatever, only one thing that comes to my mind. That is, to be honest, if I get a time machine now, I would probably travel to the past and advise myself to buy BTC when it was so low. In the past, I may not have had the cash to buy it, but somehow I would convince myself to gather some money to buy it. Or take something from today and give it to my past self.

This is just like a fantasy. A daydream that is impossible to do. But have you ever thought something out of the box? Like we are in 2022 soon to be in 2023 (Happy new year to all). As days pass by we are moving toward the future right? Thinking about it like this puts us in the past. Our future will become our present one day. So are you going to think the same thing about your future and just continue on living?

Bitcoin is here with us since 2008. We can't go to the past, can't change it.

After all this, you may be wondering what I am trying to tell here. Let me explain then.

Considering our present as our past, put yourself in the future and think about what your future self would advise you right now.  In this bear market, the price is low. Not as low as in 2008, but it is low now. What are you going to do? Ignore this now and in the future tell yourself when Bitcoin crosses its ATH again that, "if only I had a time machine now"
Well, a bear market is not a thing to be panicked about. It's an opportunity to fill our bags. Hold it for the future, as if your future self told you to do so. Every pro-crypto owners know this. Time to learn for yourself.

This topic is for newbies who are thinking that BTC will fail and get vanished out of existence. Read this, and you will understand

Yeah time is short and we don't know what tomorrow would looks like, apparently this is inevitable and i strongly believe in the future we would keep yelling over missing such a wonderful opportunities whereby looking at bitcoin then would be too high for one to venture into, so it's advisable to at least hold any fraction we think we can.
but op one thing you must note is that not even everyone who could have been patient to hold till this very day, i know from when bitcoin was launched there were people who bought thousand of bitcoin then after 2x, 5x, 10, to 100x they sold off, those who bought very cheap would likely say they have hit jackpot without knowing it was just the starting of bitcoin and i believe there could be lots of regret from then till now., So is something they can't control or hold because everytime bitcoin will likely create new ATH after its circles and they must surely sell off thinking that would be last ATH but failingly.

I think a time machine wouldn't be as fun as people probably think.  Most people would say they'd go back in time and make this investment or bet on this sporting event...  I think that's a slippery slope though.  One thing a time machine doesn't give you is more time.  I could see someone becoming obsessed with money and spending the rest of their lives using their time machine to make incredible wealth, only to find they have missed their lives doing so.  Maybe if your goal was to have children and give them the world, that would be cool, but I think most people if given a time machine would regret it when they were in their final days as it consumed more of their time than they would have liked.

I really so love the fact that you stated that this isn't a financial advice because most people might after this post decide to go buy Bitcoin and if anything goes wrong along the way, it simply means that you might also be pointed out as the one inspired the action.
Just bursting ball,
To be frank this bear market has been giving me so much heart aches because whenever I really that I'm supposed to be buying Bitcoin rather than sell, I feel so bad and later I realized that most people who know of Bitcoin are also wishing to buy some coin but the money to do so became a barrier and that's why most of them aren't buying.

With a time machine it is possible to return to the past. I'll try to reach specific dates and secure my funds. What I've lost is really big to the price it have reached now. When Iost the amount doesn't look to be big. So, I'll make a holding than spending and this makes the New Year more enjoyable.

If there is a time machine for all, things would not be like what they are in a world without a time machine.

Bitcoin has its value because of its design, total supply and technology too but another importance for its high price which we are witnessing now is: Many bitcoins were lost.
If people have a time machine, those bitcoins can be recovered, so no lost bitcoins after all. Total supply will be total circulating supply too and that impacts Bitcoin price.

Bitcoin will become less scarce than in reality now.

Between less than 20% (estimation of lost bitcoins) bitcoins in total supply without a time machine and 100% bitcoins in total supply with a time machine, what do you choose?

Lost coins only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more.  Think of it as a donation to everyone.

Perhaps you’ve heard of this saying; “you can’t eat your cake and have it”.
What would you do if you’ve got a Time Machine now? Most people would obviously want to go back to the past when bitcoin was relatively cheap and acquire as much as they could and then zap back to the present and become a gazillionaire overnight.
I think while you’ve acquired enough wealth, your trip to the past would have cost you something else that you’ll miss.

I’m personally curious on why you highlighted the first letter of the word in your sentence in each paragraph.

And the thing is you are worried about time machine and not about the summary of this topic. You are worried about something which is a fantasy and building your world around it. Come back to reality and think again. I am not being rude here. Just saying.

If I get a time machine now I will only look at 1 hour future crypto state and then take entry for potential coins in future trade with full leverage. If I do this, I will become a billionaire very quickly.  But no such time machine can ever be found in scientific explanation. So thinking about it would be a false consolation. Because it is never possible in reality.

Think out of the box.
Your box is small. Break it and make it bigger.

You are not rude. You are only living with illusion. My 2 cents.

People know the value of BTC now, and only few owns it.
They can own any fraction of a bitcoin if they want. With $10 they can have bitcoin. No need to have a time machine.

With an usable time machine and available for everyone, no satoshi is lost because of private key loss.
With that machine, many people took profit in the past will hold their bitcoins till today. Do you think they won't dump their bitcoins?

People are fearful and panic when 10k, 100k bitcoins were hacked, were moved but what will happen and how will they react if million of bitcoins were traded in the past are ready to be dumped in the market, today?

Be realistic. I am not rude man.

Time is irreversible.
Bitcoin blockchain is irreversible.
They combine and make a value for Bitcoin. Lack of either irreversible time or irreversible Bitcoin blockchain, Bitcoin would not have its price in thousand of dollars.

I know most here in the forum are somewhat old and mature, but I think let's just think about it right now as a kid and fantasize about it. I am sure all of us here want this; either we should advise our young selves to buy a lot of bitcoins since your dreams will be fulfilled by this, no matter how poor you are before trying to purchase it. Though, once again, using a time machine to change the past will have a ripple effect or cause many things to happen, what if bitcoin was not as successful as it is now? Let's just say that let bitcoin be it, try to achieve what you want now, and buy bitcoin!

Almost everyone have opinion about their own benefit, buy at the lowest and then sell when Bitcoin make new ATH at $69,000.

But if I get a time machine, I will create a proposal about merit implementation before ICO booms to eliminating people who promote shitcoins project. Also I will spread FUD about ETH, BNB and any other centralized shitcoins in order to decrease people to invest in shitcoins. So in the long run, people will only stick with Bitcoin and it will cause huge adoption.

One thing that some people need to understand here is the fact that it was possible to buy many bitcoins for extremely cheap prices way back in 2009, but that isn't the case currently for obvious reasons.

It's easy to purchase small parts of a bitcoin and HODL now in order to earn decent profits in the short-term and long-term, but you need to limit your expectations frankly speaking.

It's easier to become rich by hoarding and HODLING low market-cap legit altcoins in the long-term though.

Idk, this is under the assumption that BTC would reach a new ATH by then. The thing is time machines get their allure from "knowing" the future, a guarantee. If it was simply an assumption then it's no different than trying to predict the future. I mean in OP's scenario, it'd also be completely reasonable for me to think what future me would say when BTC dips and crashes to the ground.

I'd probably just say whatever though. Not exactly the first time if it ever happens again, but not right now though since I'm still hodling. That's just how it goes when it comes to investments, some go well, some don't.

If you did, I'm sure the market wouldn't be as developed as it is today, and bitcoin wouldn't be as popular as we're seeing. Without altcoins, there would be no hype in the market, and people wouldn't enter the market, bitcoin would also get boring. What is attracting new investors to the market is shitcoins for their hype and returns, not only bitcoin. Bitcoin alone is not enough to create a cryptocurrency market and without volatility, bitcoin would never be popular.

That's another way of looking at what altcoin's use cases are. And true at the same time because we need hype for people to come to cryptocurrency. I have doubts about merit implementation though, we have tons of legitimate projects in crypto advertised by big men in the industry including popular celebrities but still, we end up with chaos.

What I would do is make BTC very popular from the beginning so that all around the world will try to get ready for the reboot of the BTC blockchain and we can all just mine BTC with a computer. Start all over.

Bitcoin is here with us since 2008. We can't go to the past, can't change it.
But we can change our future. Right now.

Fantasizing about the past is harmful because it creates a sense of lost profit, while it is more productive to focus on the future, which can be influenced now. The past is already unchanged.

Bitcoin gives the opportunity to influence your future. If you don't take advantage of this now, that years later you will fantasize about a time machine in order to move from the future to the present day. I think it's better to try to achieve what you want than to regret later that you didn't take advantage of the opportunity. I have a similar experience with btc when I didn't buy it for half a thousand dollars.

The final decision whether to buy or not to buy bitcoin must be approached with all seriousness so as not to be the loser due to the wrong behavior strategy.

Not only in cryptos, but also in many things I would have advised myself If I had a Time Machine right now. I will at first tip my self to buy as many Bitcoins as I can. Also will tell about major sports events and their outcomes. Will force myself to bet on these and make more money. I mean there are endless way to make money if I had a time machine. But the sad reality is that we currently don’t have any time machines. I know I might sound greedy, but all these hardwork for what? To earn money and live life happily right. So yes this will be my intentions.

Wouldn't change a thing though, and for those who think that they are too late, then think again. The price is very cheap and you don't have to like buy 1 BTC immediately, it's better to just accumulate, and I think that is the fun or for others their is this challenge on how far can we go on accumulating bitcoin overtime. Of course the obvious answer is that if we have the time machine then we will take as much bitcoin as we can, but it's not going to happen. What we can do is learn from the past, those persons who regret on selling early their stash of bitcoin. But for us today, accumulation will be the key.

If I had a time machine to go back in time and if it had anything to do with bitcoin, I would try to get a lot of bitcoin, even by borrowing money from my parents, because I know for a fact that bitcoin would have gotten its ATH price years ago.

But sadly, that will never happen to me so I'd rather see the reality at hand and keep trying to collect more bitcoins this time. I don't want to be late again in collecting lots of bitcoins when the price is still low, like now, because the price of bitcoin can increase at any time.

I would obviously try to go back in time and do a friendship with Satoshi. Be on his colleague list and work on blockchain technology. Make myself his best buddy and get Cool share of bitcoins.

Once I’m in, from there onwards I would also keep myself anonymous, and watch the peeps discussing about who Satoshi was. I would laugh privately reading all those threads about Satoshi and where he might be. Being one of the colleague, I think would still be with him on our private island, away from the world and partying hard around the clock.

Now that’s kind of fun Timeline I would want to create myself if someone gave me Time Machine.

Considering our present as our past, put yourself in the future and think about what your future self would advise you right now.  In this bear market, the price is low. Not as low as in 2008, but it is low now. What are you going to do? Ignore this now and in the future tell yourself when Bitcoin crosses its ATH again that, "if only I had a time machine now"
I have already taken the advice from my future self, and I know for sure that I will be in regrets if I do not follow the advice I have gotten to never quit getting bitcoins in any amount that I can get. I think my future self will be disappointed if I do not follow the advice and will most likely get depressed thinking about what could have been knowing that bitcoins will have a bigger status then than it has now. I want to be patient with bitcoins, and I urge every newbie who just started recently getting bitcoins not to get discouraged, bitcoins will do better, you will regret it in the future if you stop buying. Make it into a plan this new year, little amounts in purchase monthly will mean a lot in the years to come.

People who enter the market because of altcoins wouldn't touch Bitcoin, this mean either there's an altcoins hype or not, Bitcoin market is still same. The reason why people are interested with shitcoins is they're want to get instant profit by pump and dump market, that's the reason why we're see so many bad news on cryptocurrency that lead new people think Bitcoin is scam.

Actually Bitcoin has huge volatility and high risk too, but since the use case is clear, the security is really high and 100% decentralized, it make the Bitcoin market always survive during bear market.

People who enter the market because of altcoins wouldn't touch Bitcoin,
Not really, I entered the market for the first time and invested in altcoins instead of bitcoin, partly due to a lack of knowledge, and partly due to the temptation of profits that altcoins offer. But during the bear season in 2018, all my altcoins disappeared, and I almost lost everything then I started to realize bitcoin is the safest investment in this market. Many crypto market participants are tempted by altcoins, but after losing, they realize that only bitcoin is worth investing in.

this mean either there's an altcoins hype or not, Bitcoin market is still same.

The same is not true, if bitcoin really became independent and had no connection to altcoins, then when Luna or FTX collapsed, the bitcoin price wouldn't plummet as quickly. All are related to each other.

I would not change a thing.

This is because every bad experience comes with a lesson and that lesson sticks in your head like it's made of superglue, making you careful in future decision making. That is how life has to be, you win some you lose some and then your try again.

When I look back at my past, I feel happy to have made some mistakes because now I know how to prevent them.

The point it never to feel regret about your past, embrace it and accept that it made you what you are today. If you try to make yourself Mr. Perfect via a time machine you will end up creating a disaster.

I would do much more effective things if I had a time machine :) I understand your regret about not buying more btc when it was low but it's important to focus on the present and make the most of it as you said.

In the current market, it's really a great opportunity to consider investing in crypto especially if you believe in its long-term potential. I always think of it as if I used a time machine that is capable of going back to the start of 2023 (now) from 2028 or whatever.  ;D

Lol! I love such kind of theories! They are hilarious! Conspiracy theorists have super rich imagination so I believe they must try to write fiction which will have the potential to become bestsellers.

But I agree with one point. We all need to make our present useful and more streamlined. Rather than chasing wild goose, it will be great to learn more financial knowledge and implement them in real life to make the most out of it.

For sure many people in this industry would say that they will buy Bitcoin when its market price is still low. But that's a time machine, I'd probably go to a bigger 'stage' such as buying a huge lot back in the 80's to put apartments on it. Why? It is a more assured asset I guess, given the scenario. Investing on this technology at the early rate won't remove the risk that volatility may create changes on its pattern unlike with real estate investments such as land ownership, it would be yours forever which makes me think it would be a better invesment if we'd have a chance to do so. But since that is a bit impossible at this century, a more secured asset would be more of a better option.

It wouldn't be surprising if someone said here that they would buy bitcoin when it was cheap and sell it when it was at its peak, who would miss that opportunity. the thing is, when we go back in time, would bitcoin be the only thing we would care about? i think i would take a different path. I'd want to fix the relationships I didn't do when I had the chance but thought I needed to fix when I lost them, and I'd want to spend more time with the people I was going to lose early. of course, I'd save bitcoin while I was doing it, and I'd get a foothold in the industry by learning all this bitcoin technology at the very beginning, which I'm sure would have made me more money.

It's said time machines would be harmful to our timeline's sequence of events. What we change in the past would completely change the present and the future. Anyway, it would be tempting to go back in time, in the early years of bitcoin, and start using the first faucets available, while storing the income made for the future. I heard the first or one of the first faucets gave 5 BTC per claim, so we can have a good notion of how profitable it should have been to have claimed from that faucet thinking on long term. That is the perfect solution for everyone, since not all of us would have money back then to invest in bitcoin. We would have to earn it doing tasks and faucets were the key.

I believe that time does not exist, we just travel through billions of parallel universes in one second to produce the so-called time, so I don't need a time machine, I need to take my present seriously and make good assets of the present Configure, learn more encryption knowledge, and practice yourself.

We can't say in the future if someone really can invent this or if we found a technology to do this. Though let's just like think like we are 9 years and be kid again for just few minutes for sure you'll be happy then after let's get back to reality and face it . As always we want to buy bitcoin in its earliest phase but that is really in the past so we should buy now if we don't want to be doing our mistakes again the same with before.

Honestly bitcoin wouldn't be the first thing in my mind at all. Sure, it would be great if I bought some more, but I wouldn't buy like a million of it for two main reasons; first of all it would mean that people wouldn't get much and I would be getting it all and people would lose interest to it if I am the only owner and I can destroy it with one sell button, secondly it would be hard to safely store it and cash it out, how could you sell a million bitcoins without crashing the market hard.

I would do things differently in my own life though, I know what I like doing now, which is writing, so I would focus on that a lot earlier age when I can actually be better.

Being in reality is good than assuming of the time machine. Myself will go back to the days where I spend my holdings on different needs. I'll take back the spending and this will make my portfolio stronger. Probably that is more than enough for me to have a successful living. People always look for a way to make money, and myself too does the same but in a different manner.

Will this happen in reality as that of the movies on time machine that takes people to the past.

It's true they say time flies when you are having a good time, and crawls when you are having a bad time, so what I will simply do is fast forward the time when am having a bad time so the pains, the stress and the rest will go away fast, then when am having a good time I will slow the time in other the enjoy myself to the fullest, if there is anything to achieve that have not achieved I will pause the time and achieve it first before going forward 😂

I haven't even tried to get into this fantasy but, I find so many or something critically wrong about it.

I don't know how this fantasy might go,
Either you get to take yourself alone to the times past or you take other ls as well but, either way it comes, there is always goi g to be a balance offset
I can tell you certainly that, every moned coin is owned by someone. Either bought by an investor or it stays hodl away by miners.
There isn't going to be any supernatural mining to fill your desire and investors of time past aren't going to stop investing either. Perhaps there would be a price jump as to more demands to get your chance. Either way, you might not buy enough or perhaps, your future self won't be so convincing of your past self.

Ironic question right? Well, as a crypto lover/ investor or whatever, only one thing that comes to my mind. That is, to be honest, if I get a time machine now, I would probably travel to the past and advise myself to buy BTC when it was so low.
If I had a time machine maybe I would think of using it to go back in time when Bitcoin was small and buy as much as I could. But on the other hand, I will lose many precious moments that I have lived and maybe it won't happen again. I personally won't use it and let my life be as it is now and move on with a better life, learning from the past instead of having to go back to the past. Maybe we can have a lot of Bitcoin by going back in time but who knows it might actually change something that is actually more valuable than that. So, forget about past regrets why you didn't know or buy Bitcoin from the past. It's better to focus on what we can do now and so on

Most of people will just take the simple answer that we back and buy dozen of bitcoin, me want to. But time marches on we cant change the past what the best we can do for now is using our past, our experience to tackle the future  8)

and like the dozen movie have said that if you change your past you might destroying something in future or other things will happen

a simple thought for me if i had a time machine, i would go back to the time where i know that life is very difficult and arrange the previous life to be orderly so that it will have an effect in the future (present future) because someone who has anything (money) has good management good when they know life in financial terms,
not bitcoin that I thought of when I had a time machine because bitcoin will flow with my life if I have money and good management

just my thought if it has a time machine

if there was a time machine, surely many people would travel in time to a time when the bitcoin price was still low, but that's impossible to do, there's no such thing as a time machine, it's just a story and no one has been able to prove it.
Instead of thinking about things like that, it's better to focus on the current situation that will be faced, don't regret that you didn't buy bitcoin when it was cheap, because buying today isn't too late.
must remember it's never too late, as long as we want to try.

I’ll bite for this silly question.

If I had a time machine I wouldn’t deal with Bitcoin. It would be a headache especially in 2013 if you started selling large quantities. Banks would get suspicious where you got all these funds, they would think Silk Road.

The real money would be to buy lots and lots of stock options near the highs and bottoms. Basically a small $10k put option could 1000x if bought at the right time and doing the reverse at the other side. Stocks have much more liquidity and it’s possible to make billions easily. With Bitcoin not so easy.

Same here. I would buy Apple stock at say, .09 per share. Buy tons of it (tax deferred) and then sell what I want to live without having to work, and then save the rest for my kids.

Wouldn't need to mess with bitcoin to get rich, but I WOULD be buying bitcoin now as I sold stock (as I truly believe in bitcoin for the future).

but it would be ridiculous if the time machine was created and existed because it violated the rules of natural law from the creator

I just saw many people just writing their thought based on the title. You can do that if you like, but I would suggest reading the whole post first. As mentioned in the post, time machine is not a thing that we have access to. So instead of thinking what you could have done with a time machine, think about what you are going to do now. Buy now or just let it be. Bear market in not permanent and not a bad thing. It's an opportunity.

The answer to this question depends on you and how you think about the priorities of your life. For example, if you lost someone recently, you will think about returning to the past and seeing the person you lost, or if the future is important to them you will travel to the future and see what's going to happen in the future. However, I personally will use the time machine to travel to the past and buy some useful assets, or I would like to see my grandfather once again.

But if there is a time machine, I would like to return when btc was worth $0.45. I mean when the pizza transaction was made.

In life time is of the essence and any wise human should understand that we always need to prepare our tommorow right from today, there's a popular adage in my local dialect which says, "the way you spread your bed that's how you will lye on it", if you prepare yourself by making good use of lifetime opportunity that comes your way today  then a brighter future awaits you. Our oblivion about the future is what makes life meaningful, if we should have a time machine that makes us able to travel back in time the height of unhealthy competitions among humans will be exacerbated whereby life becomes brutal and solitary if the time machine is not excluded to bitcoin alone.

. But if the time machine could only be designated to bitcoin alone then I will not hesitate to take myself back to 2008 to make sure I sold out any landed property to my name just to buy BTC and hold till 2020. Today I would have been walking in pleasant lines.

You guys know that sometimes machine does not function appropriately, i believe that we should not put trust on machine because of the development of a machine, actually machine can fail and can also contribute meaningfully in the development of success depending on how we use it, trusting machine hundred percent is not encouraging.

Let's say the machine works properly and has no faulty mechanism what would you do? Buy some coins and sell them and be rich overnight. I saw some movies regarding time travel but non of these changes anything to the person who uses them to change their past, more or less it makes life complicated.

I would rather sell that time machine for a million dollars rather than travel and live happily in my own timeline without any complications from my past. One thing I will do for sure before handing over the machine. I will do a contract with the buyer that if anything or any changes happen to his life I won't be responsible for that. You can enjoy your bitcoins alone.

We want to go back in time because we already know what happened now. We know what we have to do.
But nothing is certain about the future. All decisions are made because of your own bravery. Really makes you do something "outrageous" right now, can you do it? So there is still a plan to do things. Don't dwell too much on the past.

Time machine is only possible on movies but in the real life it is not possible to get any time machine. It is only an imaginary thought and false assurance . It is never possible to get a time machine.  and altering the creator's customs and time continuum. This is just an imaginary thought. It will never materialize. We can only fill it with imagination and nothing more

Quick glance at the past isn't as bad as it seems right? Guidance from.tue past is all it brings to those who have sight to see.

In this situation a time machine to go back is useless, why not forged ahead let go of the past and construct a better future.

Going back to mine all of those bitcoin makes sense, solving captcha to get bitcoin, bitcoin airdrops and all other ways but nothing would be so lovely if one accumulates enough bitcoin now, 10,000 BTC for the journey would be great.

I think it's all imaginary, it's not possible in real life to move to past or future, it's doesn't make sense in real life, we can only experience this in cartonistic life or some where in movies, but let consider that if I got time machine the first thing just like everyone want to buy dozen of Bitcoin at very cheap prices
After that I will fix correctly all those trades who drove my portfolio and also remove all those project from my holding in order to safe my fund who do scam and stole million of dollars

Time travel is currently a theoretical concept and imaginary,  there is no scientific evidence to prove  that, it is possible. it is like day dreaming and it only happens in movies & other forms of fiction. However, if it becomes possible during my life time then,I would also go back in 2009 and buy as much Bitcoin as possible. ;D ;D ;D
As a matter of fact, it is not going to happen during my life, so I continue accumulating Bitcoin on every major dip, to reach my target of owning at least one Bitcoin.

Ultimately, it is important to focus on what is happening today and continue working to improve quality of life through consistent efforts.

Everyone was thinking the same thing when the time machine did exist, wanting to buy as many bitcoins as possible when they could go back to 2009.
But didn't anyone think to know who Satoshi Nakamoto was before he created bitcoin? I would probably do just that and want to know who she really is. and I'm also going to go into the future maybe 10 years to find out how much bitcoin was then.

Even though all the imaginations of the time machine are just fictitious and will never come true. it would be encouraging that we can still buy bitcoins cheaply today and hold onto them for the future.

We can create a Time Machine by making long-term investments. buy and hold bitcoin from now on and see in the future, it will be a great investment.

However, since I can't turn back time, I'm focusing on the future, trying to make amends, and achieving my goals, including purchasing the smallest amounts of bitcoin I can afford.

Read this, and you will understand

yes exactly, I will pause time and go back to go mine bitcoin at it first year, not only that I will join this forum too just the very day it was created, coupled with learning some other skills I didn't learn when I was young enough, I will then bring out my talent in rap music and the whole world will be screaming my name. Some mistakes have done too will be corrected and some decisions I took will be improved.
But firstly I am take everything about bitcoin seriously because then they were doubting the acceptance of bitcoin and it discouraged most people from taking it seriously.

If I be able to use time machine, I definitely not gonna aim to use to get rich. That is too petty imho. Money can be earned anytime if you are lucky or talented. Instead, I would have used time machine to meet people I miss, those who are no longer with us. And probably not to do all that bad things I've done and not to upset people I had upset.

I really feel bad about those who say that they wish they would have bought or mined bitcoin in 2011-2012. Easy money always spoil people. You would better work hard now to get rich and proud of yourself, instead of using time machine as a cheat.

Looking forward to 3 halving from now, it is really a good chance to pile up our stash with Bitcoin.  Looking back, we have seen how skeptical people failed to make a fortune when they doubt Bitcoin to be able to be successful in its adoption.  We already have a history that proves those who hesitate will never gain, so we should avoid repeating it again and we should be convinced by the history of Bitcoin market price.  Nothing much more to do but just pile up our stash with Bitcoin, buy when we have the extra fund, and stash it for a long time to have a significant gain.

The time machine is going back in time. But not for profit, but for family. I want to go back to the past countless times and spend more time with my family. Now think about how much money you have is not as good as having your family by your side. Sorry I might be digressing a bit. . . . Going back with memory, I definitely go back to when I first heard about Bitcoin. When I hear about it, I should study it, and don't let the news affect my thinking. And I will also share the matter of Bitcoin with my friends and family, so that they all know about cryptocurrencies.

I could have used time machine to go back in past and be the one who would be a Bitcoin creator (Erumotoshi). But I would not do that. The level of responsibility is too high. I would be number 1 victim for human hunters. I dont want to be surrounded by guards, I dont want to walk and always look around.

Sadly, nearly everyone wants to go past. No one wants to go to the future and see how the world would look like in 30 or 50 years. Probly balls are not heavy enough to accept the future :D

Because I cannot undo the past, let's let the present set the stage for the future. If I were to reflect on the past, I would continue to regret not investing in Bitcoin at an earlier time I was aware it existence. But if we examine what has occurred since the beginning of Bitcoin, we can see that the price has been rising, thus with this, I still think there is a chance to accumulate Bitcoin for the future benefit like what have being happening continually. I want to hold onto my Bitcoin for a good 15 years as continue to they accumulate till them; who knows what might happen then? There is a proverb that says opportunities present themselves all at once. Simply said, it means that the past cannot be changed. So let's seize this chance right away and gather Bitcoin.

There is a proverb that says opportunities present themselves all at once. Simply said, it means that the past cannot be changed. So let's seize this chance right away and gather Bitcoin.

I also don't like talking about the past or the things we'll never be able to do. Don't try to remember what we missed in the past, that only makes us more regretful, but instead, if we know the potential of bitcoin, we should take advantage and hold bitcoin now. Because history will always repeat in different ways, bitcoin fell but will rise later and create future ATH. It's almost 99% going to happen, we've missed it in the past, so don't let the future regret it again.

[Note: Not your financial adviser, Do Your Own Research]

Be sure to let us know what you think about this!

I think most us would simply buy BTC at cheap prices if we had access to a time machine. As for me, I'd just go back in time to prevent falling for many cloud mining scams and recover my losses. I'd also buy as many cheap DOGE as I can to sell it before Elon Musk started pumping its price back in 2021. The profits would've been used to buy more BTC and become a filthy rich person.

While BTC prices have declined massively these days, I still think we're early to the game. There's a lot more to crypto/Blockchain tech than meets the eye. Once renowned companies, mainstream governments, and banks begin to massively adopt this tech, BTC prices will never be this low again. We should start accumulating as much cheap coins as we can before the market starts pumping again. The future is widely unpredictable, so we can only hope for the best. ;)

To be honest I don't expect Bitcoin to rise in value for ever, every new asset has to go through stages of development, in the Bitcoin case it went through the hardest stages and managed to prove itself as an asset although many entities tried to stop it, you wasn't able to advice someone to invest in Bitcoin few years ago because it was representing much higher risk than now. Logically, there is still big possibility for Bitcoin to surpass the last ATH as the market cap looks small in comparison with other global assets, so the next cycle it should make new ATH, but we can't expect what happen next.
IMO, if investment companies started to see Bitcoin as valuable asset, they would try as much as they can to throw the crowd out and control it. We started to see that from the previous cycle which was a bit different from the casual Bitcoin cycle.

This is a great thing to bring up right now. Are we really going to be in control if the big company tries to take over the BTC? Well BCT is free and not controlled by anyone, and what will happen if someone does so?
Being decentralized is the key factor for people to accept BTC. What if we lose the sole purpose of it. It's terrifying just to imagine what could happen.
Let me know what you think will happen.

I would go back in time to mine bitcoin on its first year. That way, I would be able to amass a high number of coins and would lock tehm on a wallet back in time to access it in the future.  Moreover, I would contribute like one of the early adopters and become known throughout history.

You do not need to go back to the past, instead, you can try to think of the future.  Just like what @OP is trying to say, we can assume that the current year is the past year and the future of 12 years from now is the present.  This mean, we do not need to have a time machine but instead, we can just start accumulating Bitcoin at the current price and wait until 3 halvings had passed and see for ourselves that we had made the right decision of accumulating Bitcoin 12 years ago(present year).

It didn't matter if they wanted to reminisce about it, but the problem was only memories.
We can never repeat the past, but we have the opportunity to change it for the better in the future and everyone has that opportunity in their hand. Not all of us can get better, some will get worse for whatever reason. So whatever happens, keep trying your best.

If it's all just about bitcoin, then I think it would be good if they started to look at the market which started to recover since early January this year.

^ I would still love to go back fast if there is a chance, to be a part of the history probably. Being a Hal Fenny? a Pizza man? What else?
And ACCUMULATE since back then it is very cheap, I can probably hold 100 BTC or thousand of it as I want. But now, yes you can still accumulate but it needs also a big amount before you have a whole number of BTC, it is totally different.
However, we don't have that machine, so let us accept the fact that we are here now, all we have to do is just accumulate even though a small fraction so that we a gain rewards in the future.

if there would be a time machine, I would like go to 2017, it is my darkest year and I would like to correct many wrong things that I have maid during that time, I will also think for other way so that I will not go with bad decisions in life that time. all in all, it's okay if there's no time machine, you can still have that tomorrow to change things and to hope that it will not happen again.

Don't get me wrong: don't look to the past means you shouldn't think about it too much and don't just live your days in regret. And as you say: take the past as a lesson and don't let mistakes happen again. I've regretted missing out on bitcoin in the past, and I don't want to sit back and remember that mistake every day, instead get up and do whatever it takes to prevent it from happening again in the future. I'm very realistic, don't like daydreaming or paranoia, and never wish to go back to the past, what I hope is the past will repeat itself, and I will find a way to fix it.

We must anticipate the future by acting now before it's too late. Even though Bitcoin has reached a high level of mainstream adoption during the years of 2017 and 2021, there's still a lot of people who haven't heard about it or used it before. Once the whole world adopts Bitcoin as an alternative to traditional Fiat currencies, market prices will never be the same. They will be a lot higher than what they are right now.

I'd say we're still early adopters of the future of money. Just keep buying coins while they're cheap to sell them at a later time for profit. You can bet BTC will get past the $1m range after a few halvings. Goldman Sachs already declared Bitcoin as the best performing asset of 2023, so the best is yet to come. Who knows how far will the cryptocurrency go? Just my thoughts ;D

Reversing time to 2009, and getting every single pieces of bitcoins my hands and wallets could get hold of. Time machine would be one of the very best stuff I would use to change my life and explore more in the crypto space. There's countless times I've deep regrets not getting involved in the space early and missing out on top projects in the space that would have make me a cillionaire. It hurts to overlooked bitcoin as of 2009, I was fully aware that it exists but was not given the proper tools towards the project, and till date, I surf for information by myself and I'm also proud to bagged the little projects I found solid and having good road maps.

I believe there are millions of people just like you who have ignored bitcoin in the past, but like what serjent05 said above. We don't need to go back to the past or regret anything, what we need to do is make predictions about the future and believe in our current choices. In my opinion, investing in bitcoin now is very early, and if you can hold bitcoin for the next 10 years, the return you will earn is not small compared to when you bought bitcoin in 2009. The person only regrets the past when one knows the present, but I suspect one will not believe in the future to start over with the present. We have so many opportunities, why regret the past and not find a way to fix them in the future?

But forget time machine you didn't hear about bitcoin some years ago but you know about it now so it's still up to you to correct those mistakes you made in the past in this case Investing heavily in bitcoin and activity participating in the forum it will still take u somewhere.

If there was a time machine, most people would want to go back to the cheapest price of Bitcoin and buy as much as possible to get rich. But time cannot be reversed. Now that you know the potential and value of Bitcoin, it's never too late to buy. Buy and hold for a long time, when BTC reaches a new ATH in the future, you can still make a profit.

Yes, it's true that if people could go back in time and buy Bitcoin at a lower price, they could potentially make a significant profit. However, as you mentioned, time travel is not possible and it's important to focus on the present and future potential of Bitcoin.
While it's true that the price of Bitcoin has been highly volatile in the past, it has also had periods of significant growth and many people have made a profit by buying and holding for a long time.
It's also worth noting that buying and holding is not the only way to make a profit from Bitcoin, as there are also other strategies such as trading, staking, and lending. However, it's important to be aware that any form of investment carries a level of risk and it's important to conduct your own research and understand the risks before investing.
It's also important to keep in mind that it's never too late to start investing in Bitcoin, and despite the price, it's worth considering as an investment option.

No one could've known Bitcoin would get this far. Back in the early days, BTC's price was cheap with no indication of growing whatsoever. True believers of the cryptocurrency didn't sell as they were hopeful market prices would go to the moon someday. Most people never thought BTC would become a high-valued asset, so they sold their coins.

Even though most of us regret not having bought Bitcoin when it was lower in price, there's still a chance to strike it rich in the future. After all, Bitcoin is still not fully mainstream yet. The subsequent halvings should make BTC more scarce and attractive to big investors. Many experts are predicting BTC will go to $1m in the future, so I'd suggest you buy and "hodl" today before that happens. Who knows how far Bitcoin will go? Just my thoughts ;D

I don't even need a time machine, because from now on we can see the future of bitcoin and as long as we invest now, we still have the potential to make big profits in the future. Bitcoin is still pretty cheap, and imagine if we buy bitcoin now and in 10 years bitcoin hits $1 million, we will also be rich without going back in time. Don't think about things that will never happen, live with reality and don't let it slip away again.

That's right, there's no need for a time machine to invest in bitcoin it is a good time to invest in bitcoin because the price is very low. By analyzing the market you will know all the value of bitcoin and the exact future. Instead of going back to the past, bitcoin investment should move forward with the future in mind long term investment will give good profit.

Indeed, if you pay attention, most people who use a time machine want to go back in time because of their desire to buy bitcoin at low prices and become rich people today.
This is spelled out utopian thoughts and wishful thinking and hope alone.
I agree with you, I better see what the future will be like, whether bitcoin really becomes a global currency, or the price is 100 times what it is now or what it will be like, so that I can seriously invest now and know the fate of bitcoin in the world. what kind of future.
Yes, we can also see what the economic situation is like as a guide for my preparation for the future.

Lets stay on the reality. It is quite impossible to have time machine. Even if something is innovated that can bring back the memories and it can't take us to the past days. Rather than thinking of investing when the price was mere dollars it is good to think of the present moment and act wise to make life better through cryptocurrency investment.

Your questions are really iconic indeed but let's also face reality that we can't go back in time and relating the past and present or even the future isn't fair because things weren't, aren't and wouldn't even be the same.
I sometimes also wish I could go back in time to far back 2008 and not just be a crypto holder but also one of the greatest miners but the truth be told that I just laugh when such thoughts come because I know this is another opportunity presented to me with this Dip and now I do understand why most persons slept on the dips in the past years and one of the greatest reasons is the lack of money/funds to buy the dip and I'm sure it will be more difficult for people to buy more of the dip since the money seems difficult to make lately.
Don't blame people when You don't see them buying the dip because if you ask and possibly do a survey, you're understand that people want to but no money to do so.
Make the money available and watch how massively people will buy the deep.

I wonder if the OP also gave a thought that if he will go back in time, is he that confident that he will be rich just because he will convince himself to buy BTC at a low price where it's still selling for less than a dollar and much cheaper than that? Because there's still a huge chance that probably the OP won't know that BTC existed and is trading for a cheap price even if he will go back in that same time where he would like to invest into BTC. Just a thought.

Although, I know what the OP is trying to say and prove, I'm just here trying to think the opposite way where traveling through a time machine is probably not that easy and exciting because there's a lot of risk entailed with it.

One thing to note about going back in time is that, most things aren't going to change but your actions in the past can as well alter the results of the future. Maybe you went with the knowledge you've had from the future with hopes of taking advantage of the times but, is knowledge The main factor that hindered your investment in bitcoin?
For some, they've got no funds to have a go at it and it's still going to be that way in the past. When it happens like that, what do you do then... Borrow to invest? You might have as well altered various constraints to the future results.

Also, what stops other individuals from going back in time  as well, it won't be a fair thing to do.

Considering our present as our past, put yourself in the future and think about what your future self would advise you right now.  In this bear market, the price is low. Not as low as in 2008, but it is low now. What are you going to do? Ignore this now and in the future tell yourself when Bitcoin crosses its ATH again that, "if only I had a time machine now"
One other thing I can think of aside from like buy bitcoin cliché stuff, is to learn a skill. Because if it was 10 years ago and I bought thousands and thousands of bitcoin, but did not know how high it will go, I know myself and I would probably sell them all as soon as they all worth a few thousand dollars, wouldn't expect it to be this high.

However, if I studied another skill, I could make money from it. To any person out there who is either 25 or younger, stop whatever you are doing and learn how to code and design. If you know your way around photoshop and similar other graphic design products and can also code and know at least phyton, but preferably one more thing like java, these two skills will make you rich even if you never buy bitcoin.

Well, the time machine I think is just a fiction but however the case maybe, if it is a reality, many would want to correct lots of things which happened in the past. It would be an avenue to make right the wrongs of the past and amend all loop holes that resulted to these days leakage. If the time back were to be a reality, I would prefer it to years back of bitcoin inception and purchase of bitcoin would have been my priority as I now have vast knowledge of it compared to then, if it happened that I were to be inclined with technology then I would boast my knowledge in technology more especially ICT do as to equip myself in time ahead but  it happens this way and I am still on track moving with the trend technologically.

If I had the ability to time travel, I would go into the future, find out what the price of Bitcoin would be in 2040, and decide in 2023 that I would not invest in Bitcoin or sell my Bitcoin. Again, I used a time traveling machine to go back in time and copy Bitcoin's coding to the present and invent Bitcoin. If this were possible, people would imagine the past and the future and make aggressive and competitive decisions in the present.

Although the future is unpredictable, with what is happening now, we can be confident that the future of bitcoin is very bright, and its price will not just stop below $100k. If you want to go to the future to check the bitcoin price, it's like you are doubting the future of bitcoin. If it were me, I would use a time machine to travel back to buy bitcoins, hold them until 2021, and then sell them. Or if I had more time, I would fix a few past mistakes than buy bitcoin, there are more things we regret in life than bitcoin. For me, it's not too late to invest in bitcoin at this point.

a very unique and interesting topic, indeed sometimes when I'm chatting with friends I sometimes like to think that way, which is like,, if only I bought bitcoin in 2009 when the price was still cheap and held it until now of course my life would be richer.
because it has a lot of bitcoins.

but in fact, it's okay to fantasize or fantasize, as long as it doesn't make us lack enthusiasm in facing this real life.

do good work today so we don't regret it in the future, for not doing positive things in the past.
