Title: Bitcointalk table formatting issues Post by: 1miau on January 07, 2023, 09:26:27 PM We know already that Bitcointalk's table formatting is quite buggy.
For example we need to apply some tricks to get a proper size of the first column: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5105539.0 But one of my tables is making issues. It's not a big table but I can't enlarge one column in it:
If I add more _ _ _, it's resulting in a retun and my _ _ _ continue below... : https://i.imgur.com/oEflq8g.png
It's weird because preview is fine... ??? It's not useful at all to have such a limited space. Any solution anyone? Why does it seem to be a limited space per column? Title: Re: Bitcointalk table formatting issues Post by: PX-Z on January 07, 2023, 10:59:46 PM Why not use hr tag? But don't include it inside the tr or td tag or it will be limited like that on your screenshot. Which i guess is the issue when using a table. It has limits especially if you are only using a few tr td tags
Code: [hr] Just like this below, and it looks fine imo. Code: [table] Title: Re: Bitcointalk table formatting issues Post by: noorman0 on January 07, 2023, 11:41:30 PM I think the character type matters, I tried previewing your table too, then I found this:

This type of char is not suitable for representing table lines without the help of another char. Just use “⠀” (U+2800) and the horizontal line [hr] instead. It has limits especially if you are only using a few tr td tags But then, I can't add an additional column (präsentiert von) as it's only a horizontal line and I'm using my _ _ _ to define the size of my columns. Code: [hr] So, won't work for my table above, unfortunately. I think the character type matters, I tried previewing your table too, then I found this: I've only used the same characters, the space seems to be a glitch maybe? Doesn't show up in my preview at least. https://i.imgur.com/KNpoUDR.png Somehow after hitting the 79th count, it made up the distance on its own. This type of char is not suitable for representing table lines without the help of another char. Just use “⠀” (U+2800) and the horizontal line [hr] instead. Let's see how it'll look like when using “⠀” (U+2800):
Edit: seems to be working! :) Many thanks for your help and your solution. ;) |
