By definition they are not free, since you have to do some work to earn them.  By definition they *cannot* be unlimited, since the very supply of bitcoins is limited.

Wouldn't you want to breed strength after you are a multi-trilionaire - assuming the BTC community has over a trillion in total liquidity

Thus this mean that it is designed to be limited or someone is limiting bitcoins so as to make its value higher than the actual dollar or money??? Do you admit that someone is controlling its flow or hoarding btc so as to make it rare?

The code and protocol, as designed, put a hard limit of around 21M bitcoins total.

You might be interested in bitcoin for the wrong reason.
It's not about making money off of bitcoin. Personally, I actually think that a decentralized, limited currency is a step in the right direction.

This guy has an effin' good point; what happens if rich BTC users die and their Bitcoins are lost forever? I never thought about that, but surely somebody else did?

You would presumably increase divisibility and price would balance things out.  Practically, that won't happen.  As people figure out how Bitcoin works, they won't let their bitcoin go with them when they die.

Presumably it happens, let's say, someone holds / hoards bitcoins til a point where its value is 1btc= $1M then i have kept or hid at least 10btc then i could be an instant millionaire? Then as what you have mentioned that there were 21M btc's, if someone kept/hids/hoards at least 50% out of it, WOW, then LET US ALL HID OUR BITCOIN TILL IT BECOMES RARE AS DIAMOND then we all become millionaires.

 

1. You wouldn't have become a millionaire instantly. It would have happened slowly over time.

2. if everyone hoards their bitcoins that means no one is trading with them or buying and selling them. This would make them worthless.

2. Trade in diamond is slow yet it aint worthless.

I get a random amount of free bitcoins every 24 hours from dailybitcoins.org. the payout is low, but there is a (slim) chance of a jackpot payout. (I believe the jackpot is at 10 Btc currently. I usually end up with .001 Btc per day from the site, but its .001 btc I didnt have to start with! :)

OK, by free,  i meant it costs nothing money wise unless you choose to support the site by going to the advertisements...But if you go for the coins, it takes 15 seconds to paste your BTC addy, and type in the captcha. I've always received payment, and have never had to jump through hoops for the bitcoins.

I've gotten .01 BTC from them for my 4 referrals. theres about 10 surveys to make .1 BTC each, I haven't done any of those, and don't plan on it, unless they continue to pay .1 and btc for those surveys and BTC shoots up to $1000 USD

This site doesn't seem to pay out anymore, been waiting several days and have seen some complaints of people waiting for over a month.

Why wont you give it a try and see for yourself. It doesn't hurt, i assure you.

It won't hurt but it won't pay either and in the meanwhile you create general topics so everyone can see your great banner and do some surveys on your site hoping to get some. Eventually when they request pay-out they'll never get it.

TheHeroMember this is the 2nd thread that I've seen you post multiple times back to back, but I do agree. Bitcoins a limited and there is no way that there can ever be an "Unlimited" amount of them.

The site doesn't pay at all, not even the little what it promises so it's a scam.

I completed a survey on this site, and requested to withdraw the bitcoins which I earnt from it. But after almost 4 days, still no Bitcoins in my wallet. I am not sure if this pays out, and neither is the guy before me, looks pretty scam like... If you would like to pay us our Bitcoins I will more than happily modify this post after several withdrawals.

I don't think so. You're trying to tell me that the more limited or rare it become, the higher rate/value of btc. What if i kept/hoard bitcoins till there's just 100btc left? then that time its value is $300,000.00=1BTC , say i  have kept/hoarded 3Million BTC.  ???

Imagine satoshi had designed Bitcoin to only have 2.1 mil total coins and the block reward started @ 5 BTC not 50 BTC and everyone had 1/10th the coins they have right now.  What do you think the price of a coin would be?

You asked what happens if Bitcoins are lost.  I said they (as in individual Bitcoins who's private key has been lost) are lost forever.

There is no mechanism to replace lost Bitcoins.  How you read anything beyond that statement I don't know.  I have to think you are just trolling for fun now.


I re-read the exchange twice and honestly have no clue what you are talking about.

Why overthrow the conversation with talking about whether bitcoins go lost or not, there aren't any coins to loose if your site doesn't pay any. Or are you trying to cover up the negative replies?

If he didn't pay you please report this scammer. They are very anti-scam in trade but they let this guy go for some reason making money over newbies.
