Why do people go into gambling?
I asked this question here because I can't get the answer.
However, in my observation, I found out that most people go into gambling because they think that's the easiest way to make big money.
Please is it true?

Because it is fun and pumps a lot of adrenaline into your blood stream, actually.
Haven't you ever gambled with your own money or in a video game (back in the day when it was still possible for small children)?.

It is about the uncertainty or whether you could get your way or not with the chances you are taking.

We have two major reasons why people go into gambling or develop interest for it, the first is because of having fun and a means to create a pleasurable moment to whine away time, secondly is to make money, this is very common because many were frustrated to the extent that they only rely on gambling for their sustainability in life, they play bets, sone work for gambling companies and get paid while other provide services such as predictions and odds for games, matches and other gambling event while others work as operators of the gambling casinos, as long as you earn a living or make fun with gambling and get satisfied, then your reason for gambling is being fulfilled.

Other than money and entertainment, are there any ither reason to do so? Well, players who are here for entertainment are few for sure. Most of the people here engaged to gambling simply because of the belief that this is a way to be rich. Well, indeed there are really people who made fortune out of gambling such as with lotteries but unfortunately, it is quite 1:1000000 probability for an individual to be in such situation. More players are losing; let us face the truth. But for players, the slightest chance is enough for them to believe that the one of a million individual could be them.

Money is that powerful but never the root of all evil; it is one's intention. Money could almost give you everything which makes it an enough reason to take risks or to simoly gamble their fate. Who doesn't want to be rich anyway? Also if there is an "easy" way to do so, why not? These ideas are simply pulling people towards this industry. And we just cannot stop it that simple. It takes one's initiative to do so whether to engage or not.

Mostly for entertainment, rarely just for "scoring" a big hit because they "really need it." You would be surprised how many people play it just for the fun factor, but the thing is, we always hear about those edge cases where people are serious gamblers who lost/gain huge amounts of money.

Not really. And I would say that it is mainly the money that attracts people, the entertainment is a side effect, not something you look for when you first decide to gamble. One of the major reason people engage in gambling is to make money, some use it as another source of i come. I have seen people who use gambling as a side hustle. A friend of mine who was working in a radio ststion, he gambles also. He gambles after work. He bought a toyota corolla with the money he made from gambling. People gamble after work or businesses or in their free time as it gives them relief from stress. People also gamble for entertainment reason because they love the wining feelings. Gambling is not just for money but also for entertainment.

People go into gambling for different reasons. Some for the right and others for the wrong ones.

The right reason is to seek for entertainment, a moment of pleasure which be enjoyed alone or with a group of friends making guesses and trying strategies and methods together.

The wrong reason is to consider gambling an extra income, investment method or side job in order to raise money for a living.

in the mindset everyone sometimes has different goals and everyone plays gambling there are those who just want to have fun spending time and money just playing gambling to get rid of fatigue as entertainment but there are also those who go to gambling to make money and others, it all depends on respective purposes, you will find various answers in this thread and I hope they are of use to you  ;)

This is true. This is the number one reason why people gamble and the minority is just gambling just to have fun during their vacation or day-off from job like me. Gambling offers an instant win to your money which you can’t get on any investment platform that’s why most of the gamblers are those who have a short patience. This is the reason why the majority of gamblers loss because they are playing reckless just to have quick profit.

You ask the question and your self already answered of your question, no need to further confirmation. Because that's the reason why people betting 99%, they win will coming back because easy money and went they lose they're gonna still coming back.

That's not entirely true.
Always remember, the house will always win. That means the gambling platform already have the upper hand against you. What you want to do is lessen that by playing wisely.
You can try poker games where usually it's a battle of players and casinos just take a part of the whole pot for maintenance and the venue.
Sports betting is also a good idea, many gamblers have stories about winning here more than casino games like Blackjack, slots, dice, etc...
In my case, I pick both poker (back when I still have time to go to the venue and before the pandemic) and sports betting. I can somehow increase the chance to win although losses cannot be prevented.
Just enjoy the added excitement provided by betting on your favorite sports and you will definitely not think about it's all just for making money.

Easiest way to win and lose at the same time to be exact. Betting all-in money is not hard. The only hard part is accepting the consequences if you lose the bet. So technically gambling is really an easy method to have a possible huge win.

The way gambling is now structured it's not in any way meant to make anyone rich, and people that understands this idea that the gambling companies aren't charity homes have taken gambling to be just a leisure activity for fun, and time cruising subject even as they are careful not to loss their themselves financially into it. IMO the reason people start gambling varies from person  to person and influenced by the nature of the environment the person is. People who stay in an area where Casino houses are like major businesses and they are built in a way that people visit to relax, and have fun playing games. People who start gambling in this area are usually attracted to it because it is seen as a fun activity.

In other areas where the economy is not so good and people are looking for ways to make extra money, their decision to begin gambling will largely be influenced by the thought of making money.

When I started to gamble in 2014, it was because I thought I can make money if I am gambling, that I can be different and learn more about it, but I later found myself in the middle of depression and addiction, losing more than I should and gambling became a problem for me. I was so stupid because I was greedy. I have some people that joined just gamble for fun, I have some of my friends that joined because I am gambling.

I engaged in gambling to earn extra income though I am not expecting to become rich through it and my point of interest is soccer betting because I always analyze soccer matches for fun thus I put my analysis into use by placing some bet in soccer matches, however I will never play a bet with a very huge amount of money in a bid to win massively thus I only play a bet with the money I can afford to lose  bearing in mind that gambling is very risky and there isn't any sure bet anywhere, however with 2 or 3 games accumulator a gambler can earn decent profits.

In gambling it is not certain that you can make a lot of money unless you are the luckiest person in the world. There's a lot of factors why people are gambling, some are desperate enough because gambling is the easiest way and fastest way to have money as long as you're that lucky. Yes, it’s true since we all see and heard from news articles some gamblers who made it big and earn fortune in gambling. But if you can’t be lucky enough, yet you still chase for bigger profits and continue to bet with huge amount, then you’re only gambling to lose your money and not to win from it. At a point in reading the first line of your reply I thought you have a divergence opinion to what I mentioned earlier and when you say we don't gamble for passive income, that may be right anyways because gambling doesn't guarantee a steady income, and at they not be taken as a stable way of income that is why gambling can't be taken as a career of the job unless to the addicts who can't stake away from gambling since they're chasing the winning to either recover previous lose or trying to make more money in the process.

But for someone who is able to manage themselves, learn much about gambling, and also control emotions, they may be able to earn more money wisely.
- Affiliate programs are done by popular influencers. this is also very common happening and many people will also be interested in gambling because they know the influencer, trust them, and then follow their gambling activity.

Simply, all is about earning money easily like what they expect. But the reality, it is not as easy as they think.

I also have similar feelings back then when I thought gambling to be a roller coaster of luck and winning based on odds, so I always accumulated multiple odds and so many games just to increase my amount on winning from my small amount, sometimes with a 100 bulk my potential winnings will accumulate into millions,  but due to the numbers of matches I need to sellect, my chances of winning are almost at 0 per cent since not all team will win the match and even sometime more than two clubs will cut the tickets before it get to the middle of the ticket.

They could be lucky enough and gain fortune, or they could end up losing all their funds and leave gambling house so badly. But I think there are also quite gamblers who really go there to entertain themselves, regardless if they win or lose in the process, which I also think much better as gambling is losing money actually.

Lets just say that not all people do come after for the money but rather on the entertainment and leisure but i would say that out of 100% then 10% might really be having this kind of mindset and the rest is really just

mainly aiming for making money and we know thats not how its simple because we know that we do need luck for us to win unless if you are dealing with strategic based games then you could actually atleast have
some more changes for you to win if you are really that have those skills and knowledge.

There are people who use gambling as an escape from their distress and problems in life. They usually rely on gambling to feel free from their anxieties for a while which I think is a wrong idea. Relying on gambling just to escape life trials will only be a temporary relief but might also worsen the situation in the long run.

Yes you are definitely right, some people don't really gamble because of money, they gamble because they just want to have fun and they want to relax whenever they are stressed, but they are just few, in my country most youths gamble because they believe if they continue they will endup making huge money. Some of them started gambling just for fun but in the long run their mindset changed, they started believing they can be making money from gambling, some people take gambling as a source of income.

I could only imagine thousand of reasons why people do gamble, but if am being specific to myself, it would be the reason of adding extra cash to any cash am currently holding in my hands and sometimes when am kinda bored too, I do gamble my spare cash to just enticed myself in having that feeling of always winning, I mean the act just makes me feel alive but sometimes it does make one feel dead too  ;D especially when you have experience a big loss that can affect emotionally.

Gambling is the fastest and easiest way to win but also same goes when losing too and we do know that most gamblers do ends up on a disaster considering that house do always win.
Gambling chances of winning are slim and there's no way that you would be able to make yourself get that rich no matter how long you are dealing with it.

Probably, that could be right particularly for high risk takers. Who knows, they could be instant millionaires so taking some risks might paid off. But that type of gamblers do not stay longer in the gambling industry as they can used up all their money without gaining and live life the hardest way. I still prefer to gamble with a little bit of entertainment and maybe anticipate some profits too. That way, we can be responsible gamblers without compromising our hard-earned money.

Either to have fund or to make money, this is the top two reason why people are getting into gambling and when they see opportunity, they gamble more out of curiosity or even with addiction. Everyone here have their own reason, personally I gamble to have fun and make money as well but I didn’t think gambling as the easiest way to make profit because it will still depend on your luck and its not always about profit in gambling.
