When you talk about cryptocurrency, the first thing that goes into your mind is bitcoin, my advice to crypto investors is invest where you feel safe, which is bitcoin, when you buy bitcoin, you don't just buy an asset, you also buy peace of mind.the market can be sometimes crazy that even the dip will scare you for the value of your asset, but bitcoin will always be bitcoin, it always stand strong, it doesn't fail to rally back an most times even better, unlike most alt that wouldn't gives you peace once the dip is very strong,  I don't really know if anyone else feel the same way?

Bitcoin isn’t comparable to all those pump and dump coins because of the security that comes with it. Features like Hedge against Inflation which even the fiat currency can’t boost of is what makes bitcoin a safe investment. During every bearish period highlights why bitcoin is the only safe cryptocurrency out there.

But nonetheless the peace of mind in investing into bitcoin or cryptocurrency at large is gotten from the nature how one invested. Someone who has invested an amount that is beyond is capacity will always be in a state of panic even if the invested coins is bitcoin. These set of investors get concern about even a dollar drop because of what they have invested. You're absolutely spot on and definitely not the only one who feels that way. Whenever I've cash I want to invest without taking unnecessary risk, it's Bitcoin that first comes to mind. The belief that no matter what happens, every dip that Bitcoin encounters will surely recover is there. I like to advise newbies who seek my opinion on crypto investment to do more (if not all) of their investment in Bitcoin.

Apart from giving confidence, Bitcoin is one of the major coin that you can invest on without doubt that it would crash or having any bad feelings about. Bitcoin supersedes other coins because it is the father of them all, which has always stand strong and has a major importance and value among any other coin without the fear of loosing one’s investment. Well, when I first read the title of this thread I thought it would talk about something different. In fact, at this point, I'm a strong believer that the risk of not getting Bitcoin is higher than the risk of having it. I mean: the risk of losing the value that you can afford to lose that you invested buying a few satoshis is lower than the risk of being a no-coiner in the case Bitcoin becomes a generalised currency. That said, to me having Bitcoin is a source of confidence in the future, no matter what disasters happen in my country or the world.

About the real content of this thread: yes, if you don't want to be a kamikaze with you portfolio, then having the highest percentage of your holdings in Bitcoin (and maybe Ethereum) will give you confidence.

I want to gain multiple profits from altcoins but I want to make sure that I have extra fund to dca bitcoin. Its rarely Ive used up my bitcoin compensation in my campaign for such usage but if ever did I used it. I always make sure that I bought it back from the market and continue accumulating it. Some people complain about the smaller profits that Bitcoin can only generate now because they missed buying when the value was very lower in the past years but still, I do believe that 4x or 5x is possible from Bitcoin, as for an asset thats most safer I don't have any problem with 4x to 5x gains.

I think I disagree with the part where you said "Bitcoin gives peace of mind". Bitcoin only gives peace of mind when it's doing well. If it's not then it's the opposite. It's hard watching your investment lose value. That is why patience is needed when it comes to Bitcoin.

I believe having any investment gives confidence. There's this confidence that comes with having an investment in someone that is yielding profit or would yield profit in the future. When you have an asset that is appreciating in value, there's always a good feeling about that, but when this asset is depreciating in value, rest of mind will be the last kind of feeling you'll feel at that point.

Yes, you actually spoke well in this very statement of yours, because not only do owing Bitcoin gives confidence, but owing it in the right safe & secured wallet is what gives more confidence & peace of mind just as you mentioned above, knowing fully well that with Bitcoin, it gives you control over your funds. However, Bitcoin remains the first and number one cryptocurrency to ever exist with it having the highest trading volume, market cap & price currently at $27k per BTC, of which thou it's expensive, it is divided into mini fractions called "Satoshis" that can be afforded even with the least $3 with exchange such as "Remitano".

Out of the whole population consensus in the world, atleast 65 % are HODLing Bitcoin and that's alot to atleast make anyone have enough confidence to HODL as well.
On the other hand, altcoins have made alot of negative impartation on the digital money-brand, Cryptocurrency. Sometimes we'll wanna ask how?? I mean, alot of peeps have been searching their ways to get into the cryptographic line, but at the end of the day, they' might be given an option on altcoins with some huge profits; that could possibly mean everything to them since they're only starting....but when the losses Begins to pop-up, they'll end up blaming Bitcoin and thwarting the efforts by tagging different names to it. OP, I think you need to see this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5418571.0). It's a question of whether it would be profitable to hold coins that are ranked in the top 10 of market cap. So perhaps if someone is investing in crypto today and buys Bitcoin and other ten or twenty different Altcoins, many of those coins would not survive the test of time in the next two or even ten years. So there is always this confidence in having Bitcoin in your portfolio, because even if those other shite altcoins crumble, your Bitcoin would still be there, and you would also have made profit on it.

I usually don't advise any newbie to start buying altcoins, but due to the influence of a friend here, I wouldn't give such a warning again. Anyone who is not investing in Bitcoin has their own risk to bear with altcoins.

Generally speaking, when someone mentions crypto, what comes to people's mind first is bitcoin not altcoin. Bitcoin is the king of all crypto and it is through her that altcoins were made.

Altcoins are more risky and the price of bitcoin depends on the movement of bitcoin. I also prefer to invest in bitcoin for the long term with a large enough amount. But altcoins can also be made into investments or for short-term trading. Any fluctuations in altcoin prices will be able to be utilized to generate profits. Many altcoins to choose from, but do some research to determine which altcoins will be made as backup investments. there will be many choices.

Peace of mind and psychological stability are very important so that there is no panic or rash decisions when investing.

Several years ago, when I knew much less than I do now (and I know that I still have a lot to learn), I had the equivalent of 2 bitcoins in shitcoins.

I don't trade and I didn't really have time to watch the prices. One day this bag was only worth a few satoshis.

With bitcoin, I don't have to worry about prices, bearmarket or whatever.

2022 was a scary year for altcoin investors, we all saw two strong altcoins crashed last year, that’s just evidence that altcoins shouldn’t be relied on, anything can happen any moment, people investing in altcoins where scared last year because they don’t know the next coin that will crash, maybe it’s the one they are holding or not.

Altcoins crashed last year and their money was gone, bitcoin can’t crash like that, the only thing that will happened to bitcoin is that the price will dump and if you are the strong type that can hold, then with time it’s going to bounce back, but if some altcoins can crash, then they are dead already, they will never recover any amount you invest is gone already, that’s why we have to think twice before choosing to invest in either bitcoin of altcoins.

Indeed, Bitcoin can give assurance to long-time investors. It's been 6 years for me since first time I know about Bitcoin, and I never have a doubt about its supremacy. None of this altcoin could beat Bitcoin until now. Many projects up and down, and only Bitcoin that's standing still until now. Although there are times for correction, but Bitcoin will rise again, and I'm expecting for the next bull run happen in 2024/2025. It's like 4th July for crypto community and I can't wait to experience it again. 

Relating to this and I even thought that cryptocurrency was like currency used by criminals around the internet and that's why I never attempted to touch Bitcoin ever back in the days. I thought that the only cryptocurrency we got was only Bitcoin so that's that.
I can't say that having Bitcoin gives assurance, but hey for the last decade of it continuing to exist, I would use it as much as I want.

I feel really old knowing that I am almost going 6 years as well in holding Bitcoin, lol. Not that I was really having an assurance from it, but rather that I was just trying to test the waters if it is really a good investment..aaaand I would say yes to that.

I think your point of view on bitcoin is not just yours, everyone will think that way. I believe all investors are still aiming at bitcoin, because Bitcoin is one of the most famous and most established cryptocurrencies, and is considered as the Mother of all crypto coins.

Well I was also thinking that your safety in Bitcoin all depends on your investment amount and one with $100 who bout Bitcoin at $64k wouldn't feel save if the price of Bitcoin falls to $30k because there are possibilities of getting liquidated and at some points I've always preached to people to always practice good risk management and people ought to really understand that no matter how good you are with crypto, without a good management skills, one might not stay profitable for long in the crypto industry.

There is no one that will either own a bitcoin or have investments kept that will not have confidence in himself.

I would also say the same thing that you will become confident when you own Bitcoin unlike having a crypto with less or no potential like those pump and dump coins because Bitcoin is much more stronger if you compare it's condition on the market or the total of BTC being sold and bought within 24 hours unlike in some altcoins where some may crash or having some problems. In this case, I do agree. Simply Bitcoin is the best for people who want such asset. This may need longer time to be able to earn higher prpfits, but the await will be worth. Investment that doesn't yield according to how it was planned or predicted doesn't give Joy and rest of mind to the investor, despite how mean they seems to be a risk taker. yes you are right that mate and every old investors trust Butcoin rather than altcoins especially nowadays many project will fall and altcoins also fall unlike in the past 5 -4 years ago some altcoins good to invest because there's only few scammer but now where ever we go there are many scammer so as of now it's better to invest in to a trusted coins for how many years and bitcoin will be the best among all coins.
