What is the best word(s) to use to say something is a genuine item. English words: Authentic Genuine Original This would be to signify that this item is not a fake. The first guy was just joking with you. Chinese dark humor. 官方的 means official. The joke here is that Communist party officials have access to perks like special water sources, filtered air, clean food, and genuine products that are not given to the regular citizenry. Thus official is a synonym for genuine.
